A light dusting of snow covered the purple hyacinths and lavender flowers left on the base of Zane’s statue. It was odd for Ninjago City to get snow this early into spring, especially when the flowers were already blooming. Kai would have liked to think that it was Zane sending them a message, but he knew that wasn’t true. Zane was gone.

How long had it been since they lost him? Kai stopped keeping track a month in. Thinking about it didn’t help, that just brought back the twisting dagger in his gut, a reminder of how he failed him.

Pixal would say something smart to that. She always acted like she had the answer to everything. She and Kai had gotten close since the funeral, becoming a kind of odd couple. Pixal was one of the few people Kai still talked to regularly. He’d fallen off with Cole and Jay almost immediately after the funeral. Lloyd and Nya stuck around for a while, but after he stopped visiting Garmadon’s monastery, he stopped talking to Lloyd and only saw Nya every few weeks. Pixal was the only one he saw every day, usually meeting her during the singular break she took from work.

Since Zane died, Pixal threw herself into her work. Not only did she assist Cyrus, she devoted her time to some “independent project” she wouldn’t tell Kai about. Despite her secrecy, he was sure it had to do with Zane.

He took a deep breath, trying to smell the sweet scent of spring from the flowers in front of him. All he came up with was bitter cold.

He met Pixal outside that evening. Her breaks were always late, but this was later than normal. The sun was setting and the neon lights of Ninjago City glowed along with the cool white light of streetlamps. The pair sat in the alley next to Borg Tower, away from the streets bustling with people who just got off work and were excited to head home. This wasn’t Kai’s ideal location. He hated being near Borg Tower, but Pixal said she wasn’t able to go out this time, so Kai went anyway. He liked seeing her more than he hated being around that place, he supposed.

In her lap, Pixal held one of the packed lunches that came from the building’s cafeteria. Though Pixal always brought food out on her break, Kai never saw her eat. Usually, she just gave it to him, figuring he hadn’t eaten all day. Usually, she was right, too.

At least the food was good.

They were quiet. Conversations between them took a moment to start. A few minutes spent in the raw silence, listening to the whirr of engines on the roads, the murmuring of crowds on phones, the occasional caw of birds flying from one pole or building to another, then they would begin. Pixal would bring up some benign aspect of her work or Kai would mention something he saw in a shop and they would continue from there.

“Cyrus is working on a new model of the Borg Phone.”

“Again? Didn’t the last one just come out?”

“Indeed. I believe he is trying to keep spirits up while we all work on getting back to normal.”

“Seems like things already are,” murmured Kai, watching the crowds navigate the streets nearby, most of their heads bowed and pushing past everyone else to get home faster.

Pixal watched with him, resting her head against the cement wall. She sighed. “Perhaps it is just us who are stuck.”

“What do you mean?”

“It has been almost four weeks since the funeral. Twenty-six days. And yet, we are still…” She tried to find the words.

“Mourning?” Kai supplied.

She nodded. “Exactly.”

“Eh, it’s not abnormal. Not like the others seem to be handling it any better. Nya says Lloyd just helps his dad teach classes, otherwise he’s in his room. She’s kept working on her own projects, upgrading the SamX suit. I haven’t seen Cole or Jay since the funeral.”

Pixal hummed. “I saw something interesting the other day on the news. There are rumors Jay’s getting a TV show.”

“You’re kidding.”

She shook her head. “Maybe he’s moved on. Maybe Cole has too, just in a less… public way.”

Kai was quiet. He tried to take it in. His teammates were off doing their own things now. Lloyd was teaching, taking up the mantle of his uncle and father. Jay was starting a new TV show, likely about to put his over-the-top personality to use. Cole had run off, just like he’d done when Master Wu first found him. Even Nya found purpose in her alter ego. And he was… where exactly? Kai couldn’t think of anything he’d done in the past few weeks, besides leave a bouquet of now frosted flowers on Zane’s grave. His days were spent aimlessly wandering from park to park, place to place. Sometimes he found himself drifting to the underbelly of the city, but he could never bring himself to do it.

He had Pixal. She was someone he could count on. Visiting her every day, even if it was only for thirty short minutes between her own work, her own purpose, it kept him afloat.

Kai felt himself jolt up from where he’d gotten into his own comfy position on the wall, dropping the piece of falafel that was halfway to his mouth when he started his digression. A bit of the tahini sauce in the plastic container jumped back out and hit his shirt.

Then he noticed Pixal looking at him. “Is everything alright?”

Kind of. This was not the realization Kai needed to be having right now. He was barely over the first one which hit him over the head during his eulogy at Zane’s funeral.

Now shaking, Kai took a napkin out and wiped the small stain off his shirt, paying more attention to it than needed. His brain whirred. She kept him afloat. He was here because of her.

“Kai?”

“I’m alright, I’m okay.” He really needed to work on his lying skills.

“I don’t believe you are. Please, are you thinking about Zane now?”

“No- well, yes, but no-”

“What do you mean?”

“I’m thinking about you,” he blurted and before he could stop himself he said, “You’re my world.”

Her watch went off. She frowned and stood. “I’m sorry, Kai. I have to go. We’ll have to discuss this another time.”

“Wait, Pix--”

And then she was gone without a sound. Kai felt an anger bubbling up inside him. One he hadn’t felt in weeks. Not at Pixal, but himself. What was he thinking? He couldn’t come back tomorrow. He couldn’t come back at all.

He grabbed his things and stood, fighting back the licks of flame that he could feel sparking up to the surface. There went his anchor, the last good thing in his life. Now he was the only one without purpose.

He merged into the crowds, pulling up the hood of his jacket in an attempt to not be recognized. Not that anyone would. He was another face in the crowd.

What could he do? He could try and find Nya, sob to her about everything, but then would he just drag her down too? His stomach was twisted in knots. What could he do? What could he do?

The question kept repeating in his mind, looping as he wandered away from the crowds and the center of Ninjago City to the park again. He was back in front of Zane’s statue. The continuous flurry now covered the flowers he’d brought, leaving only a bit of pastel purple peeking out. Kai stared at it. He stared until it was covered completely by the snow. Then, he turned his back, stuffed his fists into his pockets, and walked away, knowing exactly where he was going.

The Original P.I.X.A.L, (Sneak Peak)

Summary: Violet Genesis Borg was created in 1989 coming from humble beginnings on a 15 year old Cyrus Borgs laptop to now Eldest daughter to the Billionare Inventor. Her little sister, who carries her original name Pixal is Samurai VXL and Partner of Zane Julian and Violet just became Mayor of Ninjago City.

But even despite these things that make her special, Violet finds herself caught up in a rather unfortunately common situation, an abusive marriage that ends in a No Contact divorce. With a son in tow, she needs her family to lean on as she finds what it means to be

"So miss Borg this is your first time here?"

A slight nod,

"Yes, usually these appointments are usually for my son, but I knew I had to see one. My Father and sisters say I have been more irrational lately, the final straw was when I snapped at my Dad and he had to put me in my place, but I wanted to make sure Victor was okay and I didn't want him to hear more then he's already heard. As you of course know,"

The therapist Lila, held a sad but gentle expression,

"Yes I do know"

Violets processor flashed to her little boy playing with the play dough as he said,

I didn't like when I heard Momma yell

With the most broken expression that still haunted the mother. Victor didn't know it was because Bradley had just slapped her after she had just simply asked him about a suspicious red stain on his collar,

She vividly recalled burning hatred in yellow optics that once held so much love for her. The ones who held tears when holding their son for the first time, also when he held her hands when they were married,

"Violet?" Was carefully asked, snapping her processor out of the memory, realizing her hand was fisted gripping her skirt,

"My apologies I got lost in a memory," She responded, letting go and flexing the hand smoothing out the material,

A smile was given to her in return,

"No no that's good. If your comfortable, can you tell me what memory you were thinking on?"

The Nindroid shifted, a tad bit uncomfortable but pushed herself,

"The line Victor said, that one where he heard us yelling. Especially me?" The other nodded, coaxing her to go on "Well that was because I found one of Bradley's Shirts with what I now suspect was a lipstick mark, I wear lipstick, but never any variation of red. I had approached him about it asking how it happened��.his response was to slap me,"

Her hand fisted again as she remembers the moment he struck, before hearing Lila ask

"Was this the first time?"

Violet only gave a nod,

"It is why I was so furious, how dare he hurt me in such a way. I think…" as she trailed off the other again gently coaxed her to continue "I think I was more mad at myself for not realizing what was happening."

A tilt of the therapists head as she asked

"How do you mean?"

A deep simulated breath drawn in and out in a heavy sigh,

"I'm not the first to be….abused" She just barely managed to say the word"My Dad's brother Clifford was like Bradley towards my aunt in law according to him. It led to his nephew being lost for close to 20 years, so a part of me is angry I should've seen the signs."

"Well, I don't know much about you and Bradley but I'd say he made you feel safe inside,"A nod to confirm her suspicion "Narcissistic People are great at manipulating people into feeling safe, it hurts more when you think someone's safe but it turns out you have had a snake in the grass the entire time,"

Looking up green optics meeting Lila's brown eyes,

"Even when you've seen it?"

"How do you mean?"

"It's one of my earliest memories it was 1996 my cousin Jay was born and my father was invited to go meet his nephew, I was in the kitchen because my father had asked for something to drink so I went to get it for him." She took a deep breath "I heard angry whispering in the hallway, saw my aunt and her husband arguing I'm not sure exactly about what but I saw her get struck. I immediately went to tell my father but the way he held Jay smiling, I couldn't break that happiness especially later on when he talked about how excited he was for his brother I still feel guilty for not telling him,"

She looked down and Away gripping her skirts Fabric in her hands

"I question to this day, if I had said something would have it led to a better outcome."

" well first of all about the not knowing aspect even when you've experienced abuse firsthand when you fall in love with such a person that love may blind you to the truth the smallest red flags become muted" she shifted " as for the other I don't think so is it possible yes but I don't think it would have helped I think the same situation would have played out just in a different way."

Okay it’s 4am and I bring you: Ninjago gamer hcs (in order of who plays the most)

Jay is the gamer. That’s what he spends most of his time doing. He prefers older games for the nostalgia and has a massive collection. He also is just really into computers and consoles and knows so many unnecessary things about computing history and what pc has the best performance and what not. Yknow he’s probably a twitch streamer. And he just generally loves all kinds of games, arcade, console, computer, mobile. And he’s played all of them. He’s also probably tried his hand at coding games but he’ll start a project and never finish it (yknow like everyone ever). Jay also probably makes let’s plays and game reviews lol.

Cole is almost as diverse in his game tastes as Jay but he gets rlly into specifically rp games, and will ramble on about the plot of a game to anyone listening. He’s usually Jay’s player 2 in any co op game, and can become quite competitive (there’s like two instances of Cole being someone who beats other people’s high scores - even though one of those times was a prank by Lloyd). He’s actually got better hand eye coordination than Jay but Jay has more knowledge on game mechanics.

Pixal usually plays borg games (because yes of course Cyrus borg makes games). Regardless of what genre it is, she supports her dad. Although her favourites are racing games bc zooom. I think she’d enjoy rpgs as well idk. She got into gaming as a way to have alone time, and isn’t a huge fan of co op with the ninja because they’re really loud lol. But she can be player 3 sometimes.

Lloyd plays whatever is new trendy and “soon to be considered cringe” (not to say they are cringe but just to address the games that other ppl tend to describe as cringe). So he was big into minecraft and Fortnite (or the Ninjago versions of those) when it was popular. I can see him being in to first person shooters just because a lot of people play those. Oh and Nintendo esque games. Like we all know he kinned link from any Zelda ever. I think he’s also a fan of sonic tbh (jay too). Oh but Lloyd scarcely ever plays older games. He only really plays games that have just come out and as soon as a new game comes out he’s abandoned the old one forever.

Zane doesn’t play games all that often (honestly he enjoys board games more) but he does enjoy incredibly hard or thought provoking games. He’s a rhythm game king and is scary good. He’s also a mobile gamer on top of that. Unlike Cole, Zane can’t really get into rpgs especially if the graphics are kinda old school. Also he usually gets high scores so beating him is usually seen as a great triumph. Also everyone on the team is prone get frustrated at losing games but Zane isn’t really a sore loser because he never loses. But on the off chance that he does struggle with a game and loses, he’ll sigh and lie down on the sofa and idk refuse to make dinner. He’ll sulk the longest out of anyone and it’s fair because RHYTHM GAMES ARE SO PERSONAL OKAYYY

Nya doesnt really like video games. But she’ll play them to make jay happy because she likes seeing him game. But mostly she’ll just watch and offer random commentary. However she love love loves the dance game at the arcade because romance and also she likes being active (maybe she’d like a wii sports lol). She’s got a soft spot for the arcade but that’s about it.

Kai only likes a select handful of games and it’s usually brawl streetfighter games that specifically came out when he was a kid, and it’s mostly because he was good at them. He used to like them a lot more but grew out of it. He just doesn’t understand how complicated newer games are, and barely remembers how they work anyways. He’s like and old man who just watches Lloyd gush about the new game he got for his birthday with barely any idea of what’s going on. He’s more of jock so.

Wu does not game it hurts his eyes. I’d say he’d like chess but I think wu would absolutely despise chess (and it’s because both Garmadon and Misako are chess pros and wu doesn’t even remember the names of the pieces)

Bonus: all the ninja love (hate) mariokart and it is chaos. Cole spends 30 minutes picking a character, Lloyd can only be green characters because he relates to them, Kai is screaming because he keeps falling off the map, jay is screaming because he just screams during games, Nya doesn’t even play properly she drives around backwards on the map, Zane will get blue shelled and Pixal will win and Zane’s just holding back tears repeating “I love my gf” over and over. And Wu will unplug the tv because he wants to go to bed.

Hi!! Since it's pride month, i'm gunna be sharing my ninjago character hcs! :)

Kai

-He/him, is trying to experiment with they/them pronouns aswell

-Bisexual with a lean towards women, thought he was straight then realized he also liked men and other genders aswell

-Cisgender and incredibly supportive of transgender people

-will gladly kick and/or punch a homphobe/transphobe

Nya

-She/they queen

-DemiAce (Demiromantic Asexual) she didn't have a lot of friends growing up, which in turn also means she never really crushed on anyone aswell.

-thought they were Aromantic for a while until she looked it up on google and went "OHHH"

-Demigirl, and just like her brother, they will gladly kick and/or punch a homophobe/transphobe in the face.

Cole

-He/him/all, he prefers he/him but can go with any pronouns really

-Gay. I think a lot of us agree on that one

-Didn't have any crushes on girls but somehow didn't connect the dots until he was like 15-16

-Alot of internalised homophobia at first because he was scared his dad was going to be disappointed in him, he wasn't but Cole was still scared

-Idk but he's definitely not cis, maybe agender or non-binary?

Jay

-He/him

-pansexual, he does not give two shits

-growing up, he had a LOT of crushes like i mean a LOT, on boys, girls, androgynous people, just.. everyone really

-Ed and Edna just accepted it and even encouraged him to be whoever he was.

-speaking of which, he's transmasc. Idk why it just makes sense

-Had a "i'm not like other girls" phase, then turns out he wasn't a girl at all

-Is on T and had top surgery between S7 and S8

Zane

-He/they/it

-Panromantic Asexual, it just makes sense man

-When they met their father, he asked if it was normal for him to feel attraction at all

-ofc It's dad said yes, then they had an hour long conversation about attraction, the LGBTQ+ community, etc.

-Agender. It was built as a man, but since learning about LGBT stuff, he's found an identity he was comfortable with.

-also they made like.. little metal plates resembling a female and male chest just incase dysphoria hits

Pixal

-Goes by all pronouns

-Greyromantic Asexual, never thought he could ever experience attraction then Zane came along and he was like "uh oh i think i'm inlove"

-wasn't sure what it was at first, human emotions were confusing for her at the time.

-They eventually learned over time and she's proud of who she is.

-They're also Agender, not for the same reason Zane was, though. She was actually supposed to be an androgynous android, but then decided it would rather have a more feminine body, voice, face, etc.

-His father, Cyrus Borg, just kinda went "Okay whatever you want sweetie :)"

-if dysphoria ever hits, she just uses the different breastplates her father made.

Lloyd

-He/It, he just likes it

-demiromantic asexual, thought he was straight his whole life then he found out about the Aromantic and Asexual spectrum

-it told its mother and she was like "that's great honey, do you wanna drink some tea now?"

-was genuinely surprised she didn't have a reaction at all even though he hyped himself up the night prior its coming out, and also practiced in the mirror in which the others overheard and now he denies it ever happening

-he found out like.. way after his dad kinda yknow.. 💀.. so obviously he literally couldnt tell him

-Transmasc. Bc i'm transmasc and I say so.

-he has indeed beat up a transphobe/homophobe before. Multiple times, actually.

((For the Draw-or-Write contest that @realityandrebirth is hosting! Ft. Cyrus and Archie))

It always felt like something changed in the water around this time of the year, as evident by the mad-dash candidates ran to try and scoop up as many ‘voter-points’ from the city’s citizens as possible. It felt like every other advert was someone asking for their vote, which made watching TV almost unbearable.

Normally Pixal wouldn’t be so invested in it, but with crime being low and the rest of the ninja being on some form of vacation, she was having some trouble occupying herself.

Which meant she had a lot of time to dig into the candidates and their ideas for the city, and what she was finding was less than par. What the city needed was someone reliable, with a good hand on management and innovation...

And as she expected, her father was resistant to the idea. "Absolutely not," Cyrus said. "Yes, I am also concerned about the situation, but I'm not comfortable with putting myself in such a position. I mean–you know what happened the last time I was in control of Ninjago City! How could I run for mayor?"

“Dad, you know the workings of this city both literally and metaphorically, you know how to handle a disastrous situation, and you are a known figure. It would be very easy to win this position, and the people would trust you.” Pixal held her hands together.

Cyrus tapped his fingers on the desk and sighed. She was right, in a way, he did know a lot about Ninjago City. That didn’t excuse the damage that he had inadvertently done in the past, however... “I’m not even on the ballot or in the running! Why I couldn’t even count as a candidate even if I wanted to be one,” He fixed his glasses.

The office doors flew open faster than they normally should go, with the brown ninja clasping the frame in his normal laid-back manner, “Did someone say ‘put me on the Mayor Ballot’?”

Cyrus wheeled around as Dareth strutted his way in, “N-no not at all!”

“Don’t worry Cy, I know someone who can help with your dilemma.-Hey Pixal- But I want to warn you now, he’s a viciously serious campaign manager.”

The doctor stole a glance at Pixal’s innocent and totally-didn’t-plan-this face.

He found himself pacing his office, keeping an eye outside at the city beyond his window while he rolled in circles with his thoughts. He didn’t know the first thing about running a city- at least not from a political perspective, and sure he had his grievances with some of the policies around curfew and mitigation, but that didn’t mean he had the know-how or right to make those changes.

And sure, maybe he had been countlessly invited to sit-in on policy hearings that he ignored in favor of something more exciting, but it wasn’t in bad faith. He just didn’t see how any of it pertained to him any more than it pertained to everyone else.

He whipped around immediately as the door slid open again, at first surprised to see Dareth in such formal attire before realizing that it wasn’t him. His hands clamped down on the wheels of his chair, as the lawyer fixed the straps of his back-pack and stepped in. “Cyrus Borg.”

“Archie.” he greeted, watching him set a suitcase on the desk and pull up a chair to sit backwards in. “You know I wasn’t expecting you to be the person Dareth had in mind to um, help me.” he chuckled, rubbing his knuckles.

The lawyer snapped open the suitcase, “Me neither, but he’s very good at convincing me to do things for him. Now, if you want to be in the running you will need a slogan and you will need to sign this document here outlining the terms and conditions of being a Mayorial candidate.”

Cyrus leaned in, looking over the small-font loaded paper, “There is quite a lot of reading to do on one document,” he hesitated, squinting. What he really needed was a magnifying glass, why were printers allowed to print this small? Archie shuffled through more papers in his suitcase, reading other documents and getting them situated.

The doctor noted the flicking motion out of the corner of his eye, and glanced just above the paper’s edge to notice the small orange serpentine staring at him with big eyes. They stuck out a little hand and waved, whispering ‘hi’ and immediately catching Archie’s attention. He passively lifted a hand to pet her head, flicking through papers with the other.

And out of it, something dawned on him. “You’re helping me for more than just ‘my brother told me to’.” he said almost as a question.

Archie didn’t look away from the paper, “There’s a whole collection of people living underground beneath the city, Dr. Borg, I want what’s best for them as much as I want whats best for the surface. No one else ever touches on that, and Mr. Trustedly who’s campaigning wants to drive them out. I don’t know what you have in store for policy change, but out of everyone in the running, I trust you the most to do what’s right. Being your manager means I can help with that.” He leaned back, slapping the paper down.

Cyrus glanced about and reached for a pen, “Well that’s certainly more of a start to something than I had in mind, I think I can help with that if I win.”

The signature rolled on the dotted line, “If? I have no doubt in my mind.”

Cyrus Borg: And this is our new assistant!

P.I.X.A.L.: Greetings I am P.I.X.A.L., Cryus Borg's personal assistant.

Jay: Oh wow! I'm Jay! The new planning sector's assistant!

P.I.X.A.L.: You seem to be excited.

Jay: I am! I can't believe I'm meeting the P.I.X.A.L. Borg!

Jay: Do you really have 15 sisters? Do they all work here? Are you really your dad's assistant?

P.I.X.A.L., blushing: I- I do. Some do, some work elsewhere- And...

P.I.X.A.L. looks at Cyrus. Cyrus smiles to her.

P.I.X.A.L.: Yes. Yes, I am.

Jay: So cool!

Garmadon running the ninjago equivalent of the Eric Andre show au

Misako just helping her husband running his crack headesque late night talk show after making sure he isn’t abusing any drugs.

Like Misako is just in the background of it and helps film the pranks while acting as a background actor for it too.

“Holy shit it’s Cyrus Borger!” Becomes a meme from the show from Garmadon’s time interrupting the tech expo

Cyrus Borg would eventually go on agreeing to be interviewed on the show.

But midway through the interview Misako crashes the interview quite literally through the set wall yelling “Cyrus Borger!” And puts a cheese burger shaped hat on his head. All while eating a cheese burger!

Ronin gets hired on pretty quick as the procurer of props because a lot of shit is getting smashed here on set

Ronin is the guy who knows a guy and is also featured on the show frequently.

Pixal does eventually do an interview on the show but instead turns the tables on Garmadon and Dareth by interviewing them instead of herself.

Garmadon is so proud of her trolling

Pre tournament of elements Chen’s frequent attempts to get the show off the air becomes a running gag.

Clouse thinks his ex boyfriend has lost his mind

Garmadon also enters the tournament as well and films it all on a go pro for the show. All live!

Skyler once her dad is asleep breaks into the Gang’s quarters and joins in on the antics to betray her dad and torment him all at the same time.

Garmadon becomes fast friends with the competing elemental masters and convinces them to help Skylor overthrow her shitty dad and his cult

Garmadon: I came here to win and if I win this I legalize Soy sauce! Also my wife promised a special victory present!

Skylor once she takes over the noodle house sponsers the show with tacky merch included as a gag.

Garmadon always keeps his cheerful cup of instant noodles pillow on his chair

"after making sure he isn’t abusing any drugs." BWHAHAHAHA!!

Yes, Skylor becomes a proud partner of the show after her father is gone, which then makes Garmadon decide to apologizes to Chen for misrepresenting his brand (while wearing a branded shirt Skylor designed.)

Instead of admitting he is in fact sponsored by the noodle house now, Garmadon now switches to pretending this is all a crazy thing fans made up. Saying that he has no affiliation with the brand and has been legally advised to avoid association with it (Technically true, though the advise was given pre second law suit.) Even going so far as to claim he doesn't know Skylor. All while still using and promoting merch.

Ninjago Wojira Swap AU no one asked for

I’m a huge sucker for swap aus so I’m going to dump my dumb idea for a ninjago one here

This is largely based off my current wind!echo AU

So first off, The First Spinjitzu Master and Wojira swap places, meaning Wojira is good, and FSM is bad

Main team-

So instead of the elements from TFSM’s list, the ninjas powers are instead Wojira elements

The ninja are all also replaced

So Garmadon, son of the first spinjitzu master, realized his dad was evil, and went to serve Wojira instead. Years later, he built up a team to help the future green ninja (yes we’re keeping green, you’ll see why in a bit) fight “Overlord Wu”

Benthomaar, the adopted merlopian prince banished by his spiteful brother. Bentho is the Navy ninja of Torrents

Cryptor Borg, (he’s human in this au) the younger son of Cyrus Borg often overshadowed by his sister (no Pixal is not Nya). Cryptor is the Purple ninja of Storm

Echo Julien, he doesn’t know where he came from or who he’s supposed to be. Echo is the Yellow ninja of Wind

Hydro (he human) lived a life of luxury, but his father never really gave him the time of day. So he dipped with his little sister. His fathers evil anyways. Hydro is the Gray ninja of Water

They come to discover that Morro, the adopted son of Wu is the green Ninja (ah yes are you happy now, Morro?)

Hydro’s sister is Mosha, (yes, she’s human too) and supposed to be a love interest for Cryptor who basically replaces Jay (though Cryptor isn’t adopted)

Mosha is later found out to be the White ninja of Ice, even though it’s just frozen water, and an element of the FSM

She becomes one with the icescapes to stop a blizzard from killing everyone

Elxplaining these darn elements because I made them complicated

Water (Hydro)- Hydro got water from his dad. He can control water. Simple as that. He can spray you, splash you, drown you, you know, the whole shebang

Wind (Echo)-, If he go whoosh, then wind go whoosh

Storm (Cryptor)- So Tommy explained that the storm amulet makes you feel the way you would during a storm. But because I don’t like anxiety, Cryptor can control the weather

Torrents (Bentho)- So the things with torrents is they’re ocean storms, and the teams not always at the ocean, so Bentho can also control water, but in a less mannered way. (He needs the water to be dangerous in some way for him to use it) He can can also control waters temperature, and create/control fog

Ice (Mosha)- She freeze

The ninja now

Zane- this time he was created out of Titanium by Dr Julien and was later abandoned by him. He later escapes and becomes Mr. Z, working for the silent one, who is Akita, because I said so and it’s an AU

Kai- fire elemental being who is the protector of the first spinjitzu master crystal mines

Nya- water elemental being. She’s one of the two guardians of the Wojira crystals, the other being Seliel

Jay- He’s a robot, and was evil before, but now he’s good, and because of the way I swapped the au, Vania is his robot sister

Cole- dance, dance, revolution (he’s a dancer who occasionally helps the protagonists)

Lloyd- Morro, but like, less E-boy and Oncler

Other characters

Pixal- Cryptor’s older sister, she’s an unofficial princess, and is very popular. It’s not until Cryptor becomes a ninja that his popularity matches hers

Skylor- (she swaps with Hana, a character I haven’t released in the Wind Echo au)

Seliel- Wojira cave guardian, elemental being of Wind

Akita- The Silent One, leader of the gang, “broken creation” she thinks the devourer killed her brother

Hana- daughter of master Chen, master of Amber. That’s it

Furea- phantom ninja in her town (swaps with Seliel)

Vania- Robot sister of Jay. Basically Pixal

Harumi- Harumi is from the Never realm, a land full of strong winds. She seeks vengeance on the anemo king, because he took her parents

The Rights Of A Nindroid

Chapter Seventeen

(Previous Chapter Here)

@ablackswansweet once again helped me with Kyle, he’s basically her OC at this point-

So...

How much do you all hate me? (:

Upon realizing that he had slipped up and thought the way they had wanted him to, Zane redoubled his efforts at resisting.

He cannot fall victim to their lies. He must stay strong. His team is coming for him, it- it has been over six months, yes, but surely they will be here soon. They have not- they would not give up on him, it- they will come for him soon. He only has to hold on a little longer, yes, just a little longer, and then they’ll take him home, back home, back where he is loved and cared for.

Just a little longer.

He can last a little longer.

YOU OKAY?

Zane feels himself shaking, unable to honestly answer the question. He had not told Cryptor of the way he had internally referred to himself as an ‘it’, and he doesn’t plan to. Saying it aloud… acknowledging what he had done seems to make it more real. He would confirm that he is giving into their desires, he would no longer be able to ignore what is staring him in the face.

YES

It’s a lie, plain and simple. Zane is not okay, and he will one day have to come to terms with this fact.

But today is not that day.

Today, he will allow himself the luxury of ignorance.

Today, he holds onto a non-existent shred of dignity.

Today, he lets himself believe in the lie that everything is okay.

That lie is all he has left.

Cryptor can see through Zane easily. Maybe it’s because he was based on his design, but he’s always known the white ninja better than he’d care to admit.

Zane is not okay, no matter what he says. At this point, it seems like he’s trying to convince himself more than Cryptor.

And that’s a bad sign. A very, very bad sign.

It seems that he’s resisting more, at least- it’s taking longer before they bring him back to the locker, so he must be putting up a fight.

But Cryptor finds himself worrying that it’s more of an extinction burst, a large amount of effort and defiance that happens just before he falls into learned helplessness.

He can’t lose Zane, he- he can’t. At this point, Zane is all he has left.

If he breaks, Cryptor won’t be far behind.

Every day is longer than the one before. It takes every ounce of effort and strength he has to prevent himself from giving in.

But he manages to keep a grip, to hold onto his sanity. He’s going to be fine, he’ll hold out as long as he needs to.

Because this won’t be how it ends. This won’t be how he goes out. He refuses to let himself be brought down, not here, not like this.

If he loses, it’ll be in battle, they will have to take him apart piece by oil-soaked piece.

He still has his dignity, damn it, and that’s one thing that they will never take from him. He might lose it at times, but he won’t give up entirely.

Cryptor isn’t a ninja. He never had been, and doesn’t want to be.

But he will never quit.

That is one thing that him and Zane have in common.

At least… something they had in common.

Now? Now, Cryptor’s not so sure. Zane isn’t quite right anymore. Zane isn’t… he doesn’t seem very Zane, as strange as it sounds.

He’s started to lose himself, started to succumb to the whims of their captors.

Cryptor can only hope that he’ll be able to hang on.

Because as much as he doesn’t want to admit it, Cryptor is scared. Terrified, actually.

Terrified of their captors.

Terrified of losing Zane.

Terrified of being alone again.

He can’t… he can’t handle being alone again.

Closing his eyes, he realizes that the days he has left are numbered. It’s only so long until Zane breaks.

And when he does, he’ll take Cryptor with him.

Because he can’t handle being alone again. And if the only way to avoid that is becoming their pawn…

Then so be it.

Sentry looks over at Kyle, who seems deep in thought as he stares at the blueprint for the way the neural net connects to different gears.

“You don’t need to memorize it or anything, you’re mostly just going to be working on some simple mechanisms for now.”

“No I know I don’t need to memorize it, but I was thinking about, maybe, a different design? You know, when you connect the gear mechanisms to the CPU, you should run them through the sensors first. That way it would let a nindroid feel more subtle things, and improve their sensory abilities.”

Blinking a few times, Sentry looks back at the blueprints, comparing the new design idea to the existing one.

“That’s… actually a good idea.” He looks back over at Kyle, impressed with the line of thought. “Granted, feeling things more intensely might cause pain if not regulated properly, but it would be easy enough for them to learn.” While the second part is more to himself than Kyle, the blond seems amused by it, chuckling to himself.

He then mumbles something under his breath that Sentry can’t quite make out, but he elects to ignore it- if Kyle wants him to hear, he’ll speak up. If not, it’s none of his business.

Taking another moment to think on how the different wires might connect, Sentry pulls up a blank blueprint on the screen.

“Could you show me your idea here? A visual model would be helpful.” It’s interesting how quickly Kyle had come up with the idea- it’s almost like he had prior knowledge about how nindroid systems work.

"Yeah sure, give me a minute. I'm just moving this here and…"

Kyle’s nose scrunches up in concentration and he carefully alters the digital blueprint, rearranging the location of the wires and how they connect.

Frowning, Sentry watches the way the wires cross. “Is there enough space to connect things? That looks like it might be painful if put that way.”

Kyle blinks, glancing back over at Sentry.

"Oh! My bad. Made a mistake, don't worry. We wouldn't want to hurt them, now would we?" For a moment, Sentry could swear that there’s a flicker of a smile, a smile that makes him uneasy. But that expression wouldn’t seem to fit what he knows of Kyle, so he shakes his head, brushing it off.

Still, something about the way the words are phrased and spoken puts him on edge. He feels like there’s something he’s missing, but he can’t quite put his finger on what it is.

“No, we wouldn’t.” He agrees, ignoring the feeling. He’s only tense because he’s stressing about Cryptor, that’s all it is. He needs to stop reading into it so much; he has a job and he can’t get distracted so easily.

Kyle fixes the arrangement of the wires before turning back to Sentry with a blinding smile, nothing like the unnerving one that he had though he’d seen.

"Okay, all done! What's next, sir?"

Shaking his head, Sentry gives his own gentle smile. “Just Sentry is fine. And now I think I’ll run this by Dad and see what he thinks about it. Feel free to look around at the other systems while I do.”

"Don't need to tell me twice."

While the response is kind of odd, Sentry ignores the unfounded worry and copies the blueprints to his internal files, heading off to go find Cyrus.

There’s nothing to be worried about. It’s fine.

There- there’s nothing to be worried about. It’s all in his head.

Sentry once again pushes the thoughts from his mind as he steps into the elevator.

Kyle is just an intern. There’s no reason that Sentry should be worried about him.

Still. Maybe a quick background check wouldn’t hurt…

The damn brat is trying to start up another conversation with him, but Cryptor really doesn’t care about anything he has to say.

"Hey General, you'll never guess what Sentry showed me." Kyle chirps.

Okay. He’s got his attention. “Wh- what who showed you?” A moment too late, Cryptor realizes that he should’ve kept the fear out of his voice.

The blond raises an eyebrow in interest. "The nindroid general, all in white. You must know it, right?"

Cryptor shifts in his bonds as he looks away. “We- we’ve met.” He admits.

"Met, huh. Like Original and its ‘friends’ met?" The amusement in his voice makes Cryptor bristle in annoyance.

“What?! No!” The way his power source heats up refutes his claims, but Cryptor is hoping that Kyle doesn’t notice that.

So maybe he likes Sentry as more than a friend. It doesn’t matter. The other doesn’t like him like that, anyway.

If he really did, he would’ve come to rescue him by now.

"Ow. You're no fun," he says, mockery and mischief in his voice.

Sighing, the nindroid gives in. “... what did he show y- wait.” Sudden fear sets into him. “H- how do you know him?! What did you do?!”

"Calm down, it's not like you personally know the guy, it's not important for you to know how I know it..." It's clear the blond is trying to make him admit something. His choice of words seems very deliberate.

“I- you- that's not…” Cryptor groans, giving in. “Okay, fine, I know him. Now what did you do?”

"Know it how?" He insists, not satisfied with Cryptor's answers.

There’s no getting out of this, is there? Looking down, he speaks up. “He- he saved my life. I owe him.” He admits, choosing not to mention the time they had spent together after the white nindroid had let him stay at Borg Tower.

A low, dangerous chuckle escapes the brat. "I wonder how it'd feel if it knew how useless that was, with you wasting that life here-" His smile grows even wider with each word.

“It’s not like I came here intentionally!” The nindroid snaps, glaring sharply. Does this brat seriously think he can shift the blame onto Cryptor? He’s not stupid.

"And yet the result is the same," he sighs in annoyance. Then, his eyes light up. A terribly unsettling shine, like the sparks of a match before a forest fire. "Oh, I wonder how Martha would like another test subject soon!"

Cryptor feels himself tense up.“Don’t.” He growls out.

The blond doesn't even seem fazed by his threats. "What if we released you in its place? We don't really need three subjects," he admits.

Cryptor feels unease take over him. He- he wouldn’t want Sentry to be stuck here- never in a million years- and he knows that any promise of freedom is a lie, but he… he doesn’t want to be stuck here anymore. He doesn’t want to be hurt anymore.

“I…” He trails off for a moment before managing to continue. “…that… you can’t…”

"Is the heartless and snarky General growing a liking to someone other than itself? Now that's interesting." He sounds amused again. It's really all just a sick game to him.

“Don’t. You can’t just…” Cryptor grits his teeth. “I- I have emotions. You should know this by now. But just because I feel things doesn’t mean I’m attached like that.”

"Then you shouldn't mind if Sentry went missing for a few days." The boy eyes him from the side. "I mean, you don't like it like that, anyways."

He gives his best passive-aggressive smile- or he tries to, before silently cursing at his lack of a faceplate.“You can have friends without romance. Also, fuck you.”

A sharp snicker escapes Kyle. "Always a pleasure talking to you, asshole." He breathes out, then stretches a little. "Anyways… I'm gonna go meet it- uh, him."

Sudden panic washes over him as he stares at the blond. “Don’t- you- you can’t bring him here! Don’t you dare touch him!” He snarls out.

Kyle’s signature psychopathic expression appears on his face. "Oh but I can, I will and I'll dare if it elicits this type of fun reactions out of you." He laughs before heading for the exit. "Bye, don't miss me too much!" He says mockingly, dramatically blowing him a kiss.

“Hey!” Cryptor shouts after him, mind racing as he struggles to figure out what in the name of the FSM he could possibly do in this situation. “Hey, you- come back here! You can’t-��

The voice becomes less and less audible. He can barely make out what the brat yells at him from the hallway. "I'm not listening! I can't hear you anymore! I'm under a tunnel or whatever-"

“No, I- you can’t- that’s not…” Cryptor hesitates as he realizes what he has to do. The only thing he can do that even stands a chance of working.

“I- Master, please! Hurt me! Leave him alone!”

A pause.

Then sounds of running footsteps echoing in the empty spaces get closer. Kyle's head appears at the entrance, a shiny smile on his face. "You called?"

Cryptor struggles to hold onto his pride, to his dignity- but he can’t. He can’t let Sentry get hurt.

“I… M- Master, please, don’t hurt him. Hurt- hurt me instead.” The words are breathed out softly; Cryptor being unable to hold onto his cocky facade. If he had tear ducts, his eyes would likely be watering.

A soft smile replaces the boy's previous expression. He seems… satisfied. That's a first. "Well, I can't say no to you when you beg like that." His finger lightly tapping on his cheek shows he's thinking as he slowly speaks. "And the looming threat of it getting hurt is enough pain on its own for you today, I suppose…"

“I… look, whatever you want.” Cryptor gives in, hating himself for it. “Just… don’t hurt him.”

"Behave and I'll think about it." Kyle's tone is hard, but not mean like before. It looks like he calmed down a little.

“I- I can’t… I…” He’s trembling, he’s shaking so much, but he looks down, admitting defeat. But still, his voice is nothing more than a whisper as he does. “I’ll… I’ll behave.” He breathes out weakly, hating the way he’s forced to let the brat win.

"Good. It'll be safe for as long as you don't cause trouble, alright?" The blond bends down to Cryptor's level, hostility seemingly gone for now. "I kinda like it. Don't make me hurt it."

Cryptor can’t bring himself to look him in the eyes. “I… I won’t cause trouble.” He whispers. “Just… just don’t hurt him.”

Kyle’s laughter is gentle, but it still stings.

They’ve figured out how to get to him, figured out his weakness.

Cryptor feels himself trembling, on the brink of beginning to cry.

He knows that they’ll use this against him. He knows that they’ll use this to break him.

But for Sentry…

He’s willing to break.

Welcome to the New Realm

Okay I'm having fun with this so have what I am writing out

Ladies Gents and the They Thems or whichever pronouns you prefer I present to you the Realm 14 Borg Siblings meeting their Counterparts!

But honestly writing 2 Cyrus's is a trip ngl

Their Dad's sat in front them, one had a contraption on his legs rather then the usual wheelchair, he was leaned on the desk,

"Okay now that we have over 30 kids let's go down the list to make sure everybody is here" the Cyrus in the wheelchair said

"okay we definitely need name tags" Victoria and Violet muttered at the same time,making the others snort

"I'm Realm 15 Cyrus" he tapped a number on his Lapel"We already came up with this to identify who is who, also the 14th Realm Cyrus has his exo skeleton"

The other waved,.actually pushing off the desk and standing up using a cane

"I built this as an alternative to my wheelchair I just need a cane to keep balance, I just use the wheelchair when they are charging,"

They nodded as his counterpart looked to him,

"Just alert if and when you do need a wheelchair I'm pretty sure my spare would work for you"

"Thank you"

Cyrus 15 nodded and looked back to them, looking at the clipboard,

"It shouldn't be too hard to identify who's who's with us. Siblings I think Quixie Harriet and then Simone, Jennifer and Pixal are the duplicates, but even they have differences," Freida said logically,

"I'm pretty sure I am not like I was years ago a fashionista princess" Simone snorted side, eyeing her counterpart, who was redoing her lipstick and make-up,

She closed the compact, meeting her counterparts optics with an incredulous look,

" But if you're not doing fashion darling, then what are you doing?" She scoffed,"probably ended up on the corner,"

Simone broke out into laughter, her siblings trying not to laugh, as their Mirror Realm Counterparts stared Wesely saying

"No way"

Simone opened her jacket, pulling out a vape

" oh honey you're in for a rude awakening as yes exactly that is what I am. I stopped working on the streets about 5 years ago. Nowadays, I entertain in the most popular strip club in Ninjago or, well, formerly Ninjago," She took a hit, letting out the smoke with a smirk yelping as she got pelted by not one but 2 pens

"No Vaping in the office" Cyrus 15 snipped she grinned tucking the device away,

She then turned around, shimmying her jacket down, showing the brand of Borg Industries on her shoulder, but also all the rest of the tattoos and when she turned around they spotted the blackened skin around her powersource,

Her counterpart was left speechless as Simone laughed,

Simone interupted pulling her jacket back on but leaving it unzipped,

"Oh got into car batteries and the likes Daddy over here disowned me for a bit he did pay for my apartment for a while but wouldn't give me an allowance so in order to feed my habit I went out and got a job that makes money quick"

"Yeah, she's our chaotic one. Former Prostitute and current stripper," Chloe chirped

"Says the Hacker," Violet muttered

" yeah needless to say there's more than one kid of mine that turned out to be quite chaotic"Cyrus 15 shook his head looking a bit exasperated "Kids"

Chloe leveled him with a look,

" well you didn't build me originally to be your daughter you're forgetting to tell them I was originally your fiance"

That made a few of the Realm 14 crew burst out laughing as Cyrus 14s face grew red

"Yeah uh Ginny was the same, only she stuck with being a teacher, unlike Chloe who sounds like went a complete different way"

Ginny nodded,

" I have taught kindergarteners for close to 7 years now. I hoped to someday find someone and have a family after our Cyrus discovered himself during my absence…. by the way where is your husband,"

"What?!" The 15th realms inhabitants shrieked making the 14th realms inhabitants wince

" I was waiting to tell them because it appears here, everything did not go according to how it went in our Realm. I have already done research on him, here and he was a villain outright. Cyrus of this realm did not offer out a hand like I did"

He turned around to the confused appearance of their counterparts

"during the events of the time twins, I offered my hand out to Acronix and he took it, we became fast Friends and I was able to bring him back over to the side of good, he himself took down Krux with my help."

He leaned on the desk shrugging

" for the first couple years, Acronix really showed his intelligence with technology, one day he showed me a security flaw that I had not noticed and only he noticed because he hacked into the system to show me. So he became our white hat hacker to make sure all of our security devices have no flaws

" and I'm guessing over years and years you too fell for each other," Violet carefully said the sheepish grin giving her her answer along with him pulling out a necklace with a ring on it She sighed, "oh dear I best make a call to the chief he's probably already arrested your husband thinking he's our Acronix who escaped,"

" how did you have a direcrt line to the chief" Eris asked raising an eyebrow, but Violet already was talking to someone,

" you are looking at the mayor of our city" Felix said with pride,

Now it was their counterparts turned to be surprised

"Whoa, so instead of a doctor in your guys realm Violet became mayor?"

He nodded

"Yeah, she was a lawyer but after the mess of a situation with the overlord part two she decided to run, she is the most powerful woman in the city"

They turned their heads as they heard,

" yeah thank you chief figured as much glad we could get that sorted out" Violet looked to them as she tucked her phone away "yep they already had Acronix locked up he's already been saying he's not the one they're looking for, Chief will be escorting him here as quickly as he can,"

"Oh thank the first Spinjitzu Master Dad's alright," Harriet 14 said clutching her chest,looking beyond relieved to the confusion of the others,

" he can be a bit dim witted at times intelligence is high, common sense or wisdom however is non existent, so him running around Ninjago, it's like letting a cat out into the streets," Victoria explained to the snorts of the others

"So while he's on the way let's get this head count going"

For the next few minutes they called out names,

"Only the Pixals are missing," Cyrus 15 said

"They're probably at the Monestary can someone try to get to them?"

"On it!" Chloe said as the Elevator asked

Acronix Chromos Identified as wishing permission-

"Granted!" Cyrus 15 called out and the groups barely had moved out the way of the elevator before a giant blur ran past them Cyrus 14 laughing as Acronix picked him up and spun him around,

"Oh thank the first Spinjitzu master you're alright!" He crowed, "I was heading here when I got hog tied,"

They shared a quick kiss, before Cyrus 14 responded,

"Well your here now thanks to my Counterparts daughter,"

As gentle as possible, Acronix set the other back down looking over at Violet

"I heard thank you, Mayor Borg,"

"It was no problem," She responded, watching as he went over to their Counterparts,

"You kids okay?" He started checking them over as the other group stared

"Wow," Chloe finally said, "This is so strange, it's like he's a normal civilian"

Nya Smith

Major- Engineering

Sophomore

She’s a year younger than Kai and realistically should be a freshman but at some point when she was a kid, skipped a grade. She was really into STEM in high school and got a really good scholarship to go to the school. I think she would major in computer or civil engineering of some kind, either way she is very good at building and this kind of science. She hates HATES wearing skirts, if she is dressing up nice she doesn’t mind wearing a dress or a skirt, but you wouldn’t catch her dead wearing a skirt casually. She is also big on working out and going to the gym, she can and will bench press anyone.

Skylor Chen

Major- Hospitality Management

Sophomore

Skylor is majoring in Hospitality Management because she plans to take over her dad’s business. She also wants to minor or double major in something related to sports education, but she hasn’t decided yet. She’s also SUPER big on jewelry, she usually only wears a few rings, maybe a bracelet, and a necklace with a little gold charm, but she thinks it’s pretty and collects it. Her favorite to collect are usually old historical pieces she can find in trader or thrift stores.

Lloyd Garmadon

Major- Undecided

Freshman

Lloyd doesn’t know what he wants to do yet, his parents are also professors at the school. He’s considering majoring in early childhood education because he really loves working with kids and teaching people. He still just doesn’t know what he wants to do. Until then he is taking random classes to fill up his time before he decides.

Pixal Borg

Major- Computer Science

Junior

Pixal started doing internships in high school with Borg industries, she had a very good understanding of coding and what not. She started as a personal assistant to Cyrus Borg to learn more, but they ended up getting like, a father/daughter relationship. Pixal didn’t have any parents which blah blah blah, he ended up becoming her legal guardian.

Nya and Skylor are roommates, which were randomly assigned their sophomore year.

Lloyd didn’t have many friends when he started because he had a hard time talking to people and making friends. Since his parents were also professors he didn’t live on campus. Since the philosophy class was a 101, he could take it (he was randomly placed in it). He also thought the class was super neat, but he didn’t really talk. Just like the other 4 he sat up front, but he took a lot of handwritten notes on the discussion. Towards the end of October, the guys noticed he didn’t really talked to anyone and always saw him alone on campus. At some point One of them just approached Lloyd and asked if he wanted to join their study group. Basically, he said yes and now he’s best friends with them.

Still working on most information with everyone else but here’s some progress!! hehee

Ninjago (Marching) Band AU Headcanons

(they’re all like the same age in this because the plot demands it, so we’ll just say they’re all juniors right now)

Lloyd would play the Baritone in band class and in marching band

Zane would play the Flute in band class and marching band

Kai would play the Trumpet in band class and marching band

Jay would play Alto Saxophone in band class and marching band

Cole would be in Percussion, and would play the Tenor drums in marching band, so he’d be in drumline

Nya would play Trumpet in band class and Sousaphone / Contra in marching band

Pixal would play French Horn in band class and Mellophone in marching band

no but Nya is definitely strong enough to march contra and she would definitely do it

Cole would be co-section leader, as center snare is usually section leader but Cole is a really good leader so they co-lead

Nya is assistant section leader for the contra section

oh and Nya also definitely is like ripped and wears sports bras or ties her shirt up in the back for rehearsals. Like that is her usual marching band outfit

Zane is like the one guy in the flute section but like he loves it and the girls platonically love him so much. He’s also one of the more quiet leaders in the section, like he isn’t as out there I guess as some of the others in the section but he helps out and contributes so much

Oh like this boy, Zane, he freaking. He always has pads and tampons on him for the girls in his section. He also always has advil. Always. Sometimes he’ll bring chocolate for them like he takes care of them

also he definitely mutters angsty things under his breath when the directors say something stupid (because let’s be honest, they can sometimes)

Lloyd wouldn’t be leader, this boy just wants a break and he doesn’t want to be leader. He just wants to enjoy the activity with his friends and his section!

Playing baritone also helped Lloyd’s arm strength and now this boy has like… super strong arms now

Kai isn’t a leader as well, he’s kind of like Lloyd in where he does it for fun too, playing the trumpet really helps de-stress him and like, hardcore calms him down, he loves the sound of the trumpet and just blasting it

But like if you’re talking too much on the field or messing around or being a trashy person, Kai will put you in your place. Like he will shush you even though he’s not leader.

Kai can also hit the high range on trumpet really well

oh and Kai fits in so well with the trumpets. Like the trumpets love him and he loves them. (I sit in front of trumpets in band class… Kai definitely has a trumpet personality, but he’s more respectful than the ones in class lol)

Cole takes marching band super seriously because he loves music so much, and he loves playing the tenor drums so much. He likes that they are like the heaviest thing to march with, only rivaled by bari sax and contras.

Cole can carry the tenors with ease, but it makes him sore and it kills his back a lot but like, Jay gives him massages and it helps

But also he like doesn’t talk on the field and he gives every run his best and you best bet he duts as he plays

Jay loves saxophone! He loves its weird shape and he loves playing and he loves being with his section

He has some trouble standing still at set, but he tries and sometimes he just says screw it and moves because he wants to

Also Jay breaks reeds when he’s frustrated:/

Lemme specify, he breaks his old reeds when he’s frustrated. He keeps old, brokenish reeds in his drill charts and if he feels frustrated he takes them out and breaks them:)

He hates the neck strap as well

They give him terrible tan lines

Oh speaking of tan lines, Kai and Nya, holy trash do those two tan. Like they’re tan lines are crazy

they all sit together on the band bus for competitions and have a blast

Kai and Jay and Lloyd once made everyone bring their ds and there was a huge tournament

Ed and Edna make the best section bags for the saxophones like… they bake the best things and find the cutest little fun things to entertain them for bus rides

The saxophones actually love the Walkers so much

The Walkers throw the best section parties

Sensei Wu is head band director also

Sensei Garmadon is the visual director, like he is the best at marching and teaching marching

side note, Zane and Nya are the best marchers and Lloyd is probably the worst marcher. Like he’s not bad, he just struggles a bit more than everyone else.

He definitely improves though! Like he works so hard at becoming a better marcher and he’s just as good as Cole, Jay, and Kai!… Zane and Nya are just… they’re really really good

Cole and Kai are the best musicians

Jay is the best at keeping everyone in a good mood and pumped during the hard days

also Jay is the best performer out of the group. He is always in character and it’s amazing

Cole practices the most out of all of them if we’re being real

Oh and Lou wasn’t the biggest fan of Cole joining percussion at first, especially marching band. He wanted Cole to stick to more classical and play in orchestra or play flute or oboe or something but he’s learned to appreciate Cole’s talent in percussion

After Lou accepts that Cole is in percussion and realizes his son’s talent (at the end of Cole’s freshmen year marching season when he played base five), he becomes essentially a uniform mom. He joins them and helps take care of the uniforms hardcore. He’s helped out with color guard once or twice too, as he was a famous dancer when he was younger.

But yeah, Cole played base five as a freshman and then moved up to tenors his sophomore year.

Also Cole and the other two people who march tenor have this tenor break where they’re in the center of the field and it’s like just the three of them or everyone else is super quiet and like… it sounds incredible! Cole’s in the middle and the three flip sticks and dut and make facial expressions like oof it’s good

Zane also definitely has a flute solo like… this boy is really good at his flute

Kai probably has a trumpet solo too. Like, since he’s the best at hitting those high notes, he has this one note solo thing where he plays really high and really loud

Zane can also play the oboe. He can play clarinet too… and Pixal is teaching him French horn… and he can play the piano… he’s talented

Jay can also play tenor saxophone, but he prefers alto

Nya literally chose to march Contra out of spite.

Nya, when trying to choose what instrument to sign up for: you know, I think marching Contra would be kind of fun. I’ve always wanted to learn a second instrument

Some idiot: pfft, you’re a girl. You can’t march Contra, that thing’ll crush you

Nya: *furiously* okay it’s decided I’m playing Contra next year yes hello I’d like a Contra I will begin conditioning and will play cOnTrA

Needless to say, both Nya and Cole have conditioning to go to every year. They don’t mind it, though. They think it’s a fun workout.

If we’re being real, the main reason Jay wants their band to make it to state is because he wants state milk:/ (when bands in my state make it to state, we go to Lucas Oil Stadium and they provide us with milk because they sponsee it or something idk)

Oh and did I mention Dareth is the pit director?? No?? Well he definitely is the pit director

And he loves the people in pit. Like Dareth loves them all like they’re his children and sometimes he’s weird and says weird things or makes weird analogies, but like the kids love him. He cares so much

Ronin works with percussion too, but like, with drum line! He’s a great snare player!

Mystake is like… the past band director. You know, the scary older one that retired but comes back to help? That’s her.

Neuro would be one of the music directors, he works more with woodwinds than brass! Everyone loves him also! Like he can always tell when they all need water breaks or a mush break but he will also call you on your crap if he has too. Oh he works primarily with the flutes, which Zane thinks is cool because he’s the only male flute

The Police Commissioner is also more of a visual tech, and he works primarily with the baritones. He can be kind of intense sometimes, but he has a kind heart and a soft spot for the baritone kids.

Cyrus Borg is actually the bands drill writer! So he writes all of their formations and stuff!

Speaking of, Misako writes the music for the band! Or, is the arranger at least!

Oh and Dr. Julien is a great band dad! He helps build props and stuff!

Sensei Yang is one of the techs. He’s really really harsh, but he does it with love! He never crosses the line into insulting, but he scares a lot of the kids because he points out like every mistake. He has a soft spot for Cole, though. He likes his passion. He works primarily with trumpets.

The Mailman is that one director that’s there like… every few weeks for one day and just silently wanders around, observing. Sometimes he’ll say something to you but sometimes he’ll just watch and smile and nod or frown and shake his head. Then he won’t come back for a week or two. The clarinets like him, though, he spends most of his time with them when he’s there and like… actually talks to them and works with them sometimes in sectionals, just not so much on full field. He’s kind of funny, he makes them laugh

You can best bet Jay loses or forgets his drill the most

Lloyd is a close second

The flute section, contras, and trumpets all have drill boxes that the leader (or Zane) holds onto

Kai’s that person who brags about never losing their drill but then loses it one day and silently fumes and pouts all rehearsal

I haven’t said much about Pixal, have I? Well this queen loves French horn. She likes it more than mellophone, but like, she’ll play mellophone in marching band.

Like Lloyd, marching mello has made her arms stronger.

And also like Kai, she’s not leader but she will sass you if you talk on the field or treat others like trash or something

The whole band kind of has this like… unspoken respect for the two of them??

She will also destroy you if you touch her mellophone without gloves on I kid you not

Pixal: kAI I SWEAR TO THE FSM IF YOU TOUCH IT GLOVELESS I WILL SCREAM

Oh and Pixal is the BEST with the freshmen and newbies! She loves working with them and forming friendships with them!

You best bet the team jams together all the time. They’ll go back to The Bounty or their dojo or meet in someone’s basement and they’ll play their instruments.

They particularly like playing songs like The Weekend Whip or After the Blackout;)

Jay’s that person who screams “COVER YOUR KEYS” when it starts to rain

Oh and Zane, Cole, Pixal, and Jay all do pit orchestra for musicals! Cole plays piano for it, though!

Cole, Kai, and Jay are in jazz as well! Cole plays drum set for jazz, though! The three are in an advanced jazz class!

There’s also a really high chance Lloyd might be drum major their senior year… he wa offered it his junior year but he turned it down because he wanted to march another year and because he didn’t want people to think he was being favored because he dad and uncle are directors:/ also because he joined marching band for fun and didn’t want a leadership position but he also kind of really wants to be drummajor and he is confused:/

But he talked to his friends about it and they assured him that no one would think that because Lloyd would be a really good drummajor and that may take some fun out of the band experience but he works hard for the band and he deserves it so… he’ll probably say yes next year!

Skylor plays baritone, and she and Lloyd get along so well

Morro plays trumpet and he and Kai butt heads from time to time because Morro isn’t always the nicest to Lloyd.

Morro wanted to be drum major but they offered it to Lloyd instead of him and then chose someone else when Lloyd said no and heard Lloyd was probably going to take it next year and is being angsty about it

Karloff would play Contra if we’re being real here

Karloff actually wants to go into a career where he either fixes instruments or he makes them! He has definitely taken some instruments apart before like… screws and all

Harumi would play clarinet. She has a clarinet personality. She also has some issues with the group, she’s not the biggest fan of them and she’s more of one of the ones who thinks Lloyd is spoiled and gets special treatment but she’s trying not to feel that way sometimes:/

Griffin Turner plays alto saxophone, he and Jay get along super well! Turner is actually thinking of playing tenor saxophone next year!

Shade would play base drum in drum line, if we’re being real. I was thinking a lot on what he should play and like… he seems like someone who would play Base Four. He’s just bitter enough, you know?

And he acts like he doesn’t care and he acts like he’s rather play snare, but he secretly loves playing base drum. It suits him.

Faith would be in pit, she’d play marimba. She just recently moved to Ninjago and has some trouble fitting in and communicating with others, but music is like a universal language and she expresses herself through her marimba and the other people in pit love her and help her and treat her as an equal:)

Oh and Faith is going to be in drum line with Cole and Shade next year! She kind of wants to play tenors with Cole since one is graduating, and Faith is freaking strong, but she’ll be fine with base drum or snare drum!

Brad Tudabone would play French horn / mellophone as well. He’s one of the underclass men that Pixal has essentially adopted as her son

Gene would play trumpet sorry I don’t make the rules. He was kind of cocky at first because he was first chair in his middle school band but he got set straight with the help of Kai. Kai actually has taken him under his wing since he reminds Kai of himself from when he was a freshman.

Tox, surprisingly, plays the flute. She almost, almost went with trumpet or Contra, but she found the sound of the flute calms her. She’s not always the most patient person but like, playing the flute helps and hey, sometimes the flutes need someone super freaking tough and ready to fight in their section

Chamille plays clarinet. She was thinking of playing baritone or trumpet, but she wanted to be with Harumi (get it because in Hunted she goes evil… yeah… I know that’s cringey) but no like Chamille can play basically everything. Like, out of everyone in the band she probably can play the most instruments so choosing what to play was really hard but Harumi was good at convincing her the clarinets needed her. She would be willing to switch, though, if the clarinets had too many people and another section needed more

Seliel plays trumpet along with Kai, Morro, and Gene. She fits the trumpet section very well.

Mr. Paleman would play Mellophone and French horn. He gets along with Pixal kind of well since he’s sassy but ya know it’s a good time. He likes it!

Bolobo would play Contra. That’s… that’s it… he’s strong and he loves it

Ash and Jacob play in pit. They’re more quiet and reserved and they feel like they fit in with the pit, even though they can be a bit outgoing sometimes! Jacob plays the synth and Ash plays vibraphone!

People who fight when people diss marching band: Kai, Jay, Nya, Faith, Karloff, Morro, Tox, Seliel, Chamille, Jacob

People who just roll their eyes but don’t say anything: Zane, Skylor, Lloyd, Brad, Gene, Harumi, Griffin Turner, Paleman, Bolobo

People who give you the death glare but stay silent and make you wish you said nothing: Cole and Shade and Ash.

Jay goes the most all out for spirit week the last week of band camp

He’s also the one who complains about the sun destroying him the most during band camp

Jay will always be ginger to me, so this boy burns like trash. He always gets one terrible sun burn every year. He had to put a towel in between his neck and neck strap one time it was that band. He also burned his fingers once (I say this all from experience… I’m ginger… I have been burned so badly in marching band that I needed a towel and had to bring aloe to band with me and yes two season ago even my fingers got burnt)

He’s that person who curses the sun and says that the sun is his greatest enemy

Although, since he grew up in the desert, Jay’s sunburns turn into tans. So he’s usually beautifully tanned by the end of the season (that does not happen to me, though)

The first few weeks of band camp, all the freshmen are kind of scared of Cole because he’s so strong and serious looking and passionate about music but after awhile they realized he’s just a passionate sweetie who sometimes has trouble talking to people and better expresses himself through music!

Cole also wears a lot of black, it’s just who he is and what’s in is closet because even though he loves orange the most, he just likes being broody and the color black but like… wearing black to band camp is a bad idea. He does it every year and every year he swears not to do it again but every year he does it… he also does it multiple times a year and ignores when everyone tells him that he’ll regret it

Cole’s hair is also always in a man-bun during rehearsal

Kai does that too. He’ll wear stupid clothes to band camp. One time he wore jeans for the sole reason because someone said he couldn’t survive a day of band camp in jeans. He did survive but he almost passed out.

It’s already been made clear that Ed and Edna are the best section parents ever, but they go all out for band camp. They bring the saxophone section lunch like twice a week and they bring them snacks after rehearsal, like popsicles and stuff they adore it!

Cole loves band camp for the constant music, but also because he loves being outside so much and he loves the trees and he loves just being in the outdoors for hours straight!

Kai is all about band camp. Like the first week he loves it and he’s so ready and then he slowly gets more and more tired and has some regrets. He still loves it, he just loses like half of his energy haha

Nya and Cole do stupid things sometimes like…

Nya: hey wanna see me march with TWO contras?! One on each shoulder, baby!

Zane: nYA NO

Oh yeah, Zane is basically their impulse control because Kai, Jay, and Lloyd just laugh or stand in awe depending on how it goes

Cole: hey no it’s fine, I’ll carry all three of the tenor drums. I’m strong enough I’ve got this! Just stack them on top of each other… yeah… just like that… don’t worry, I’ve got them it’ll be fine!

Zane: you’re stupid. Don’t do that. Why are you all letting this happen someone taKE THE TENORS OFF OF HIM

You best bet Lloyd once wore a fedora to rehearsal

One time. Lloyd forgot to bring water to rehearsal and he was like it’s not too hot, I’ll be fine. But then it got hot and luckily he didn’t pass out but. he had so many. regrets.

The team are those people who run around the band and yell “BAND IS NOT A DATE” when they see people holding hands or like… being romantic

Misako has come to a few rehearsals to watch her son and husband and to listen to how the band is playing her arrangement and give advice and this happened

Have I mentioned Cole, Zane, Chamille, and Skylor all can toss flags in color guard??

Because they can.

Cole almost joined color guard. He thought it was kind of cool, and he thought his dad may like that, but his love for percussion and music was so strong and powerful he decided he’d rather do drum line and he does not regret his decision

Mm Zane, Cole, Jacob, and surprisingly Lloyd all have perfect pitch

It kind of runs in Lloyd’s family, as his uncle and parents are all involved in music

Jay has a terrible sense of pitch

Also Jay hates concert F, or the alto saxophone’s D. He hates it because altos can’t tune to it but they play it for tuning so much. He is very verbal about it.

Wu: *warming the band up* okay, concert F everyone!:)

Jay: *intended to be under his breath but actually isn’t* ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh FSM no!

Zane loves chords so much. He finds them all so pretty and fascinating and memorized all of them for fun!

Pixal bought the gang (Kai, Lloyd, Zane, Cole, Nya, Jay, and Skylor) fanny packs to use during the season while they’re on the field! They’re all their favorite color (yes Cole’s is orange)

You best bet there are some friendly section wars / rivalries

Aka Kai, Jay, and Nya go hardcore, especially during the water balloon fight at the end of band camp

Sometimes the gang switches instruments when the band (is forced to) plays at football games

Like Cole will take Kai’s trumpet and play the trumpet and tenors at the same time

Lloyd and Jay will switch instruments too… Jay isn’t the best brass player haha

Pixal will switch with Zane so he can practice mellophone

They do that every single time for fun until Wu or Garmadon finds out and makes them stop

Speaking of football games, Lloyd, Jay, and Zane all cheer for the other team. Zane cheers for both because he’s a sweetie and Lloyd and Jay cheer for only the opposing team because they want to

Kai hates when they do that but they’ll never stop

One time, Wu was telling the band they need to tell the story more, like how the color guard does. More facial expressions, more elegant movements. As he was trying to explain that, he told them to “sell their bodies” and then immediately was like “wait no not actually poor choice of words” and the band flipped

Now they all jokingly tell each other to sell their bodies

Each time the directors change parts of music or drill or movements, everyone face palms because it basically goes down like this

One time Jay was really bored during rehearsal so he was practicing some horn moves and came up with something to say while he did it. It was “interior crocodile alligator. I drive a Chevrolet movie the-ater. Four door mini van. I love CostCO”

And now that’s a thing everyone does and says when they do the moves. It has spread!!! Except drum line. They have their own stuff. Also they dut.

Jay and Kai are the guys that constantly play the music from the other years before. Like all the time. All. The Time.

That’s it... for now?? I really like this AU, and I’m in marching band, or I was haha this was my last year because I’m graduating! Some of the specific stuff has happened haha! Uh, I play alto sax, but I played tenor this past marching band season! Also I am ginger as well! I have also started drawing some of this ahhh
