My top 6 dimension 20 shows ranked with little to no context
So all you DnD dropout girlies know dimension 20 has some excellent excellent content. I started my actual play watching with D20 so I am, of course, biased, but I just prefer watching something that well edited with a range of play styles and game familiarity. The fact that some of the tables have players who have played for decades and others who are starting their first game is really great. The diverse, laugh-out-loud but somehow also make-you-want-to-cry game play is just unmatched. So, I decided to be moderately unhinged this Sunday afternoon and rank my favorite dimension 20 shows as of February 2023.
1. A Court of Fey and Flowers: Listen I was promised Bridgeton in the feywilds and Aabria Iyengar delivered. The epistolary phase! My ace pillar boy really doing the most. The “I’m taking my suitcase out on a walk.” Not to mention the fact that Jeremy Renner is an NPC.
2. The Seven: I am nothing if not chaotic and I did, in fact, start my D20 watching with this show. The horse-girl energy was giving what it needed to give. The teamwork was excellent. I also love them. So there.
3. The Neverafter: As a medieval-early modern girly with a hunger for oral tradition and retellings, this show is my catnip. It is at number three because we are only halfway through the season, but I am having a great time. Every time Emily or Siobhan light up at myth recognition, I too am excited. Also, death is everywhere so that’s a nice touch.
4. Misfits and Magic: If I want to recommend someone watch a manageably small campaign this is what I recommend. All the PCs know how to craft the worst person to go to wizard school, which is glorious. Plus it is non-TERF wizard school content which we always appreciate in fandom spaces. Of course, you should also watch the holiday special, but yes, Aabria is an excellent GM once again.
5. A Starstruck Odyssey: It’s a campaign based on Elaine Lee’s before it’s time graphic novel series. Of course, this is Brennan (give the monster a cookie) Lee Mulligan’s mother and their interviews explain so much about him as a person. The world-building, character, and story arcs are impeccable. See you in the stars forever and always.
6. Fantasy High: I gotta include an oldie but a goodie. Will never be over watching this group work through teen adventurer problems. But also, unmatched NPCs. Bill Seacaster! Cathilda Ceíli! Wilma and Digby Thistlespring! Sklonda Gukgak! Our yogurt icon Gilear Faeth! Ayda Aguefort! All very good people who live rent-free in my mind.
So I hope this moderately chaotic list was, if nothing else, fun to read. Stay nerdy intrepid heroes!

🍓&🪐 for the thing!
Hi😊 thank you for asking!
🍓 - How did you get into writing fan fiction?
I started writing when I was just 12 lol. But it wasn’t fan fictions it was cheesy love stories. I’d like to get them back somehow and read them to see just how bad they are💀
I started writing fanfics for the hunger games when I got older and yes… this one’s a little embarrassing but I had a Twilight/Edward Cullen phase ahaha. I didn’t post this fics anywhere and just kept them to myself.
I came back now and tried writing fanfiction again after watching succession and being feral for Kendall Roy. I was brave enough to post my first one and now I am here😊 So I think I have come a long way in terms of writing haha.
🪐 - Name three good things going on in your life right now
I had to think about this one🤔
1. As I said, next week I start my first in person therapy session which is super good for me. I was finally brave enough to get into therapy and do better for myself.
2. I made cinnamon buns, they don’t always turn out but they did this time and they were so good! Proud of myself for that.
3. I have been trying to get better at crocheting for a while now and I think I’m finally getting the hang of it with no help from my gramma or watching those complicated tutorial YouTube videos even though they are titled “crocheting for beginners”, most of them are definitely not for beginners💀 I hope to crochet either a blanket or a tapestry thing for my wall on my own.

hii!!! i’m going to watch the new hunger games with my boyfriend on the 17th cause my birthday is on the 16th, and i was wondering about your opinion on it??
personally, i’ve never read the books beside the ones based on katniss, but i see a lot of people hating on the choice of the actress for the lucy gray.
i think people are dramatizing everything about her and the snowwhite being single “issue”, yes it’s a little weird to basically say a woman has to be single to be independent, but you can tell her hearts in the right place, so why does everybody hate her???
and say what you want about her, but the girl can SING. like it’s actually crazy how pretty her voice is.
i really like the parallel of katniss singing to lucy’s singing, and the difference of two in general. i’ve seen this one quote that’s like “a hunter in a performance” regarding katniss and “a performer in a hunt” regarding lucy, and i love it so much?
i also love the new song from olivia rodrigo, it reminds me of rue (my sweet baby girl ☹️ i think of you everyday #theogmockingjay)
i feel my hunger games phase returning tenfold and i might cave in and buy the rest of the books and speedrun it before the movie tbh LMAO
sorry this is so long but i wanted to see what you thought of it!! (the actor of snow has no reason being that attractive. why would they make such a problematic person So hot???? everytime 😢)
omg im going to see tbosas on the 16th too🤭
Personally, i absolutely LOVE the book. It's my favorite out of all the books if im completely honest. I know a lot of people are worried that it "humanizes" Snow, but it genuinely doesn't. It shows you that he had several opportunities throughout his life to do the right thing and be a decent person, but every time he chose whatever benefited himself. It's truly very interesting to watch him go from academy student Coryo to future president of Panem Snow. I really recommend reading it if you haven't or aren't sure about it🫶
Everyone that I've talked who has seen the movie so far has said it really is great and does the book justice even if it obviously had to cut some things.
As for all the Rachel Zegler hate (Lucy Grays actress), i honestly think it's absolutely stupid. Most of the comments that people bitch about are severely taken out if context or was very obviously just something she was told to say. I don't think Disney really understands that people are tired of the whole a woman has to be single to be independent thing. Like i get peoples frustration with her saying that but I know Rachel doesnt think like that it was just something she was told would help promote the movie. Most of the hate towards her is just rooted is misogyny, so i normally ignore it.
Anyways! Everyone says she's a perfect Lucy Gray, and i fully believe it without even having to watch the movie. She's got an absolutely incredible voice, but she also just captures the spirit of Lucy Gray so well that i can't wait to see the movie.
I've been absolutely OBSESSED with Olivia's song. Im ngl i was a little worried when i heard rumors of her being on the sound track just because i was struggling to imagine what the song would sound like but she absolutely ate with Can't Catch Me Now. I think i listened to it like 87 times yesterday. im not even joking
I also fully support you falling head first into your hunger games phase again🤭. I've been stuck in mine since march, and I'll gladly bring anyone down with me lmao. I know the remastered audiobooks are on YouTube if you really don't want to buy all the books again. So if you want the links, let me know! (i bought them all earlier this year, and Tatiana Maslany (shes also f!ashs voiceclaim hehe) did an incredible job narrating them🫶)
#thanks anon!#this is so long oh god#also yes coryos actor is very hot lmao#you shouldve seen toms outfit last night at the premiere#i actually let out a gasp when he took his jacket off#emma rambles.

book book book 2022
thank u so much @kurthummeldeservesbetter ! ur so cool
Best book you’ve read so far in 2022:
The Hunchback of Notre-Dame - Victor Hugo (1831)
now i’m just gonna preface this by saying i’ve mostly reread books this year LMFAO, but the best book that i’ve read for the first time this year is The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. i’d been meaning to read it for YEARS and i finally got the chance to this year and i really enjoyed it
Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2022:
Catching Fire - Suzanne Collins (2009)
as i said, i haven’t read as many new books this year :(, but i did reread The Hunger Games trilogy earlier this year and Catching Fire is one of my favorite sequels EVER! the furthering of the rebellion, as well as the new characters introduced fit so seamlessly and it’s genuinely one of my favorites ever
New release you haven’t read yet, but want to/Most anticipated release for the second half of the year:
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes - Suzanne Collins (2020)
i don’t have the time to keep up with new releases but i am really looking forward to reading The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes because i went back into my hunger games phase earlier this year and i now have the energy to read it and i’m very excited to
Biggest disappointment:
Smoke Gets In Your Eyes & Other Lessons From the Crematory - Caitlin Doughty (2015)
i think the biggest disappointment of the year for me was Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, which is a memoir that i had to read for class. I started off really enjoying the book, but by the end, i started to disagree with some of her thoughts regarding death and funerals and all that, and because i had to read it for class, i couldn’t just stop reading, and i actually had to write about her ideas that i didn’t necessarily like but didn’t know how to expand on lmfao
Biggest surprise:
honestly i think that my biggest surprise was how well written The Hunger Games is as well as how impactful it is. the reason i say this is because i first read the books when i was 12 years old and i haven’t gone back and reread them until this year, 7 years later. that being said, i did understand the series when i first read them, but i didn’t understand the full scope of them like i do now. they are genuinely such good books and are quite literally the blueprint.
Favorite new author (debut or new to you):
Donna Tartt
now this isn’t technically new to me this year, but within the past full year, i read both The Secret History and The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and i LOVED them. so definitely Donna Tartt all the way
Newest fictional crush/Newest favorite character:
Boris Pavlikovsky & Kevin Day
i actually have two answers because neither of them are from books i read for the first time in 2022. The first is Boris Pavlikovsky from The Goldfinch. i love him and i think he’s GREAT, but i obviously read that book last year. the SECOND is the one and only Kevin Day from the All For the Game trilogy by Nora Sakavic. i’ve read these books a million times since 2016, but i’m rereading them again right now and my love for him grows every reread
Book that made you cry:
The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins (2008)
when i started rereading the hunger games i SOBBED the entirety of the book. i quite literally could not stop crying the entire series. i was a MESS the whole time
Book that made you happy:
Grasshopper Jungle - Andrew Smith (2014)
the thing about me is that i somehow manage to only read books that make me cry, but i think the happiest i’ve been while reading any book this year was when i reread Grasshopper Jungle because it’s my favorite book of all time (tho i don’t recommend it necessarily, it’s very teen boy)
The most beautiful book cover you’ve bought this year:
The Hunchback of Notre-Dame - Victor Hugo (1831)

I can see in your face that you mean it
Guess whose back. Back again.
Yeah I had a bad anxiety day so dived back into some old comfort media and decided to finish off a fic I started back in my intital Nightrunners obsession phase.
It's fluff and smut and emotions and if you like it, please consider leaving a comment over on Ao3!
-------------
Oh Aura, he’s beautiful.
Seregil would have thought, hoped maybe, that after months of pining after Alec and everything they’d been through, after finally getting him into bed and opening his heart in a way he’d never done before, he’d be done with this. That there wouldn’t be moments when his lover’s eyes caught the morning light or he grinned in that way that showed the slight gap in his front teeth or he’d feel his soft hair run through his fingers and Seregil’s heart would drop like he was half a child again and didn’t recognise the taste of love. And in his mind he’d just sigh he’s beautiful.
Except now he got to feel the second heart throbbing behind his own with it’s own silly, dizzy, free falling love and Seregil would get to follow it with and he’s mine.
Five days since their first together and none had been exactly like any other. Each one had been unique as Alec’s confidence grew and he began to ask for more, push further, move into the spaces Seregil left for him. He was as quick a learner as he’d ever been though Seregil couldn’t remember ever being quite so delighted by it. Maybe as he’d watched him learn his letters and read his first books while delight dawned in his eyes, perhaps that would come a fairly close second.
But when he closed the door to their Watermead room behind him and flicked the lock across with a reassuringly heavy metallic thunk, turning to see Alec already sprawled naked across the bed, Seregil thought maybe it wasn’t that close at all. Because what could compare to this?
Gods above, he’s beautiful.
“Come on,” Alec stretched out a hand to him playfully, a needy whine in his voice that may have been part of the game and may not have been, “I’ve been waiting for ages, how long does ‘one last cup of beer’ take?”
“When it’s as good as Kari’s? Quite a while,” Seregil smirked with amusement, coming over and catching Alec’s hand in his own, “And besides, I was trying to make it slightly less obvious what we would be doing. Trying to save what little of your modesty was left after you tore up the stairs as soon as dinner was done.”
Alec blushed a little but not as much as he might have done a few nights ago, “Everyone in the house already knows...and besides, you promised me something new.”
“That I did, talí,” Seregil raised Alec’s knuckles to his lips, “I would add that it’s only if you're willing but judging by how you tripped rushing up here- everyone saw that, by the way- you’re more than willing.”
His cheeks now the bright cherry colour Seregil knew and loved, Alec shivered, “You said perhaps we could go a little further…”
Seregil nipped at the inside of his wrist before letting go so he could make short work of his own clothes. Wearing any scrap of material while his lover was so pleasingly naked was unbearable. As he did, Alec rolled onto his back, stretching like a contented cat as if to make absolutely sure there was no possible inch of him he hadn’t seen. They’d been repairing and painting fences that day, there were still scrapes on Alec’s palms and knees from their work, white wash on his hairline he’d missed as he’d scrubbed off the marks from their duelling with paintbrushes. Little imperfections, lingering traces of the time they’d spent together, like a map Seregil was eager to follow.
Gods, he’s just so beautiful.
Twice in one night, what was happening to him?
Now undressed, Seregil nudged Alec’s legs open enough that he could kneel on the bed between them, “Not so much further, my talí, I won’t be asking a lot of you. I just...well, offering you some more of me?”
Alec’s eyes widened at the edges, as he gazed up at Seregil, “Oh. Like, um...like the tavern board?”
Seregil grinned, he really owed some of his green lantern friends a drink if they were ever back in Rhíminee, “Well, not quite as athletic as all that. And strictly just the two of us. But in essence? In mechanics? Yes.”
There was a soft inhalation, a flush creeping down Alec’s neck, “So...me...me in you?” Just saying the words sent the flush bleeding down across his collarbone.
“That is the way I’m used to doing things though I’d certainly be interested in covering all of our options, as it were,” Seregil tilted his head playfully, “Another night. For now, I thought this would be a little less daunting.”
Alec’s teeth snagged his lower lip, his clever mind clearly working behind his bright eyes as they slid down the length of Seregil’s body. He’d be lying if he said he wasn’t rather smug at the look of hunger and want that swiftly gathered in them.
“I’m willing to try,” Alec murmured eventually, his smile coming back quick and coy and daring, “As long as you promise I won’t be hurting you.”
Seregil raised an eyebrow and let his own eyes wander shamelessly, focusing between Alec’s open legs, “Well...it’s your rather superior equipment against my experience, isn’t it?”
“Oh hush!” Alec snorted, kicking out at him lightly, “I’m serious!”
Laughing, Seregil caught him by the ankle, pressing kisses along the inside of his leg, “I promise I’ll tell you if I need you to slow down or hold still. Communication, yes? Just like we talked about.”
Alec nodded, melting into the touch, growing pliant and supple. He knew this, he’d grown pleasantly familiar with such attentions to Seregil’s joy. And where his lover’s limited experience ended, Seregil could take his hand and lead him.
So he took his time, devotedly ensuring Alec was boneless and purring contentedly, soft and relaxed everywhere but between the legs. Only then did he pull back and go for his pack, left carefully within reach just over the edge of the bed. He drew back, holding a small bottle of oil made in red glass and shaped rather fancifully into a heart, stoppered with black wax.
“What’s that?” Alec asked, now watching every one of his movements very carefully.
“Ah,” Seregil slipped easily into his instructing voice, naturally holding the same tone he would if he were introducing Alex to a new type of lock, “When people make love in this fashion, a little extra help is required to allow things to move easily. That’s what this oil is for. Very important, particularly from my perspective.”
“Oh, to his credit, Alec was blushing less ferociously each time, “And, um...what do you do with it?”
Seregil smiled indulgently, eyes sparkling, “Why don’t I show you, talí?”
He opened the stopper with his teeth, holding the bottle at a height so Alec could watch it ooze thickly onto his fingertips. In the low candlelight, it shone like glass fresh drawn from a blower’s oven, it moved like honey.
Immediately, Alec sniffed, eyes brightening, “It smells nice...what is that?”
Seregil chuckled, tilting the bottle back to stem the flow once he judged he had enough, “You’re not getting away that easily. You tell me.”
“I thought we were making love, not a lesson,” Alec wrinkled his nose but he wasn’t one to miss a chance for praise, “Um...roses. Vanilla. Oh, those yellow flowers that grow in the Oreska House park, I can’t remember their name…”
“Ylang,” Seregil supplied, beaming proudly, “Well done, my love. This is the finest stuff from the Street of Lights so it’s scented. I expect we’ll have some leaner times in the future but fortunately there are a lot of other cheaper options that work just as well.”
He worked as he spoke, working the oil between his thumb and fingers, warming it a little. In moments, the air was filled with that rich, floral smell, the kind of scent you could get drunk on. Alec inhaled deeply, watching closely so he didn’t miss a moment of what Seregil was doing.
“And that stuff goes where exactly?” he breathed, curiosity and lust making him a little impatient.
“Plenty on your cock before it comes anywhere near me,” Seregil hummed, “You may think I’m flattering you, talí, but I’m perfectly serious. You’re one of the more...physically gifted lovers I’ve had.”
“One of?” Alec muttered as Seregil shifted, lazily stretching out onto his back then propping himself up on one elbow, stretching his legs out across his lover’s. Alec took immediate advantage, running his hands up Seregil’s calves, enjoying the play of muscle there.
Seregil either didn’t hear or chose not to hear, continuing, “But first my body needs some preparation. Other times this can be your task, if you like, but for tonight...just watch and learn.”
Alec nodded hard, his attention now fully caught on Seregil’s hand, two fingers shining with the oil, and it’s path down between his open legs. He’d spent the last five nights exploring every inch of his faie’s body but he still felt a slight shiver when he was allowed to see these most intimate parts of him, when he was allowed to feel some sense of ownership of them. Five nights was not nearly long enough that Alec’s pupils didn’t widen, his breath didn’t quicken, his mouth didn’t dry at the sight of Seregil sinking first one finger into himself, then two. He wasn’t sure an entire lifetime would be enough.
“Gods…” he murmured, apparently unconscious of the naked awe on his face, “And that...that feels good?”
Seregil rather thought his rapidly hardening prick answered that question but he was charmed nonetheless, “Yes. There’s a spot a little deeper, hold on...ah, there, right there...not strictly the point of this but gods, yes, it feels good.”
His voice grew more strained and breathy as he brushed his sweet spot, as he coaxed his muscles into slackening, scissoring his fingers and chuckling at the expression that put on Alec’s face as he watched, enraptured and practically salivating. He’d started leaning forward, apparently not realising that he was now sat right up off the bolsters.
“That’ll do,” Seregil eventually sighed, drawing his fingers back, “If it were you, I’d give you a little more but I rather like when it has a bit of bite to it.”
“Now me,” Alec reached for the oil, still in Seregil’s other hand, clearly eager to progress.
But Seregil sat up quick, holding the red vial just out of reach with an amused smirk, “Ah ah. Sit back, talí.”
Alec swallowed hand but did as he was bid, hands flitting to his chest where they waited like anxious birds. He watched, wide eyed and breath coming in snatches, as Seregil poured oil on his trembling erection from a few inches above, giving a strangled moan as the cool liquid met his burning skin.
“I want to make the most of this,” Seregil purred, “The first time I get to have you share my body...I won’t rush this, talí.”
Alec’s youth flashed through for a moment as he stuck his tongue out but then fell quiet as Seregil’s fingers caught the oil dripping down the side of his cock, working the slick across the flesh. Both of them seemed to realise the importance this night had taken, maybe feeling it in the talímenios bond humming with love and need between them. They would have hundreds of nights together over their long lives, they would know each other in so many ways, but everything would have a one and only first. And that was cause to hold your breath, bare your heart and pay attention.
Seregil kept his attentions brief and light, remembering that Alec had the stamina of someone very new to sex. He stopped as soon as his lover’s cock was shining in the rapidly dimming glow of their bedside candle.
“How…” Alec murmured, pupils now wide enough that little of their blue colour could be seen.
Seregil smiled indulgently, “You lie back, talí. It’ll let me set the pace of things and I want to see your beautiful face.”
That made Alec chuckle as he slid completely onto his back, making room for Seregil to mount him, to bracket his hips with his knees. He didn’t sink down just yet, taking a moment to admire his young lover’s face, the anticipation and surprise at a new, unfamiliar desire. Seregil lightly touched Alec’s cheek and, there again, that thought.
Oh Aura, he’s beautiful. How can he be so beautiful and not know? How can he be so beautiful and be mine?
Alec just smiled, turning his head slightly and kissing the tips of Seregil’s fingers, tasting rose and vanilla. Either the thought hadn’t made it across the talímenios bond in its entirety or Alec had simply heard, he’d glimpsed the insecurity that lay not all that deep beneath Seregil’s crooked smile and had swept it into the pile of things he loved about him without a second thought. Like it could be so easy.
“I love you,” the words were rawer than he’d intended, bursting from his chest like a bird fleeing through a bent bar in its cage. He’d said it before and he’d meant it but this time it came from the very soul of him.
And Alec smiled, bright as sunlight, meaning it just as much but finding it so much easier, “I love you too, Seregil.”
Dark strands of hair falling in his face, Seregil had no answer to that but to reach back and take Alec’s cock in his hand, guiding him inside him as he slowly sank down. Any more words and he felt he might explode. But this he could do, he could give Alec his body and gladly.
Alec gave a strained moan as soon as the head of him pushed past the tight ring, face tensing, “Gods...oh gods, Seregil…”
Seregil took a deep, slow breath, allowing and not forcing his body to stretch to accommodate Alec. There was pain, just an edge to it, the kind he had always loved about this act. Eventually, inch by inch, he took him down to the hilt, shifting both hands to brace on Alec’s chest.
“You’re so tight, fuck…”
Seregil gave a trembling, breathy laugh, tilting his head back, “Just give me a moment, talí…”
Alec held obediently still, even as a low moan echoed through his chest. His blonde hair fanned about the sheets like a sunburst, his jaw clenched tight, his eyes fixed on Seregil’s face with such devotion. He looked almost godlike, something to be worshipped.
Finally, Seregil felt ready, moving his hips slowly and then gradually faster. Each time, Alec pressed against his sweet spot, direct and undeniable, pulling a high gasp from him at the peak. Eventually he felt his talímenios move too, angling his hips to meet Seregil’s movements, near lifting him clear off the bed. He could only express his approval in a broken, wanton cry, drawing his nails down Alec’s chest.
“Oh talí, my talí,” he gasped, high and wild, falling forward so his hair fell in a waterfall about them, pulling him into a desperate kiss that was lavishly returned. He bucked wildly now, body instinctively seeking release.
“Seregil…” Alec keened into his open mouth, “Fuck, I...I can’t…”
“Let go,” Seregil gasped, pressing their foreheads together, “I’ve got you, it’s alright.”
“I...Seregil...fuck,” he near screamed the last few words, whole body snapping taught and rigid, hands flying up to seize his lover’s hips hard enough to bruise, holding him in place as he flooded him with heat.
Seregil cursed in Aurënfaie as he fell, bare seconds behind, painting Alec’s chest and chin in spatters of white. Not just their bodies but their bond thrummed as if set alight, pleasure almost painful to hold like you weren’t sure your body could hold it. But finally, just at the point where it would become too much, it peaked and both men were left panting and shaking.
Somewhere in it all the candles had finally guttered, Alec and Seregil coming back to their own minds in darkness. Outside, an owl called out a sweet, lowing song.
Alec moved, catching their lips together again, kissing him now gently and sweetly. Sergeil was helpless in his hands and his tenderness, feeling small and soft and safe above all.
“That was...gods, that was incredible,” Alec eventually murmured, his voice raspy and fractured, “What in the name of the gods was I doing for a year when we could have been doing this?”
Seregil laughed, feeling Alec soften and slip out of him, letting him fully sprawl across his lover and fully give in to his exhaustion.
“We have hundreds of years to make up for it, my sweet. Don’t you worry.”
Alec sighed happily, that thought giving him so much comfort as he threw a leg over Seregil to press him closer, “I don’t know how you do it. How you make me feel so brave so I can do things I never thought I could.”
Seregil pressed a kiss to the underside of his jaw, “I don’t make you brave, talí. I just remind you that you are.”
Alec sounded like he wanted to argue but was too tired, just embracing Seregil all the tighter, “Do we need to bathe now? After all that?”
“We should,” Seregil admitted, sighing and forcing himself to roll onto his back, “Especially me. You’re running down the backs of my legs…”
Alec wrinkled his nose and groaned, throwing his arms over his eyes as Seregil made himself stand, “Why is making love so messy when it's two men?”
Seregil looked over his shoulder, intending to make some wry comment but it died on his tongue. Alec had let his arms drop, revealing his face. Edged in what moonlight could creep past the curtains, his face flushed from exertion, gloriously naked and open and honest. Smelling of roses and sex, conquered and triumphant. Everything Seregil had told himself he didn’t deserve and yet here it was.
“What?” Alec was looking back at him, a soft smile playing on his lips, “You keep staring at me.”
Seregil inclined his head, padding back over to the bed and kissing him again just because he couldn’t imagine doing anything else at that moment. When he was done, he drew back just enough that he could see his lover’s face, knowing Alec could feel his love just behind his own heart.
“You’re just so beautiful.”

And This Is How It Starts | Susan Pevensie x Reader Soulmate AU
Warnings: Slight homophobia, shitty friends???
Time/Era: Modern AU
Word Count: 1.9k
Summary: Everything your soulmate loses, you receive. Turns out, Y/N’s soulmate is very forgetful.
Request: helloo. can you write a sapphic susan fic please! take it whatever way you'd like :)
A/N: I’m not sure how many people read Susan fics, but I really like this one :D
masterlist | narnia playlist | read on ao3
“Gross, can you guys please cut it out?” Y/N stated, watching her best friend suck faces with her soulmate. She was on his lap and their make out session was starting to grow more intense than Y/N was comfortable with. Hannah pulls away from Alex with an exaggerated groan.
“You’re just jealous you’re still stuck in the ‘lose it and receive it’ phase. Not my fault you haven’t found him yet.” Her voice was light and teasing, but Y/N couldn’t help but fell her heart rip.
“I’ll find her eventually,” Y/N sighed, taking a book out of her schoolbag. It was a small, very beat-up copy of The Hunger Games.
“Her?” Alex responded, tearing his gaze from Hannah’s face. “How do you know it’s a her?”
Y/N opened the book delicately to reveal “Susan Pevensie” written in perfect cursive on the back of the front cover. The book had multiple stains on it, most likely tea judging by the color, and the same perfect cursive riddled the pages. Whoever Susan was, she adored this book with her life. Y/N’s fingertips lightly traced the writing before turning the book for her friends to see. Hannah scrunches her face at it.
“It could be his friends, you know. Like she lent it to him and he lost it,” Alex kisses Hannah’s cheek.
“Or this Susan girl is his girlfriend,” Hannah smirks.
“Or,” Y/N was growing frustrated. Whenever she hinted that her soulmate might be a girl, everyone dismissed her suspicions. “My soulmate is Susan Pevensie and she keeps losing her things. And besides, this book is really loved, she wouldn’t just give it to someone.”
Hannah scoffed, tossing her hair in a very I know everything, and you don’t kind of way. “Fine, believe what you want. Not sure why you would want a girl soulmate anyway, I know I wouldn’t.”
“Well, yeah, of course you don’t. You’re straight,” Y/N flipped to a random page and read the gorgeous handwriting that was scrawled in the margins. Her mouth twitched slightly at how perfect the script was.
“What? And you aren’t?”
“No, I’m not.” Y/N’s eyes didn’t move from the page as she spoke. The teens sat in silence. “Is there a problem?”
“No! No, of course not,” Alex answered quickly. ‘I guess we just, uh, didn’t expect it… I guess.”
“Well, surprise. Now that that’s out of the way, do you guys like The Hunger Games?”
The two grew even more uncomfortable at the sudden tension they were feeling. “No, not necessarily.”
“She seems to. A lot. And there’s a cute little strawberry bookmark on page 47,” Y/N sighed dreamily picturing what Susan must look like. Based on her cursive alone, she must be absolutely jaw-dropping.
“Has, er, Susan lost anything else recently?” Alex asked. Y/N nodded excitedly, digging in her bag again. She pulled out a set of keys with a feather pendant keychain, a light pink lipstick, a glass water bottle, and a small fabric coin purse. Y/N grinned down at the items then looked back towards her friends.
“Oh, she must be quite forgetful. Do you have any other stuff?” Y/N’s grin brightened even more.
“Oh, loads, this is just what she’s lost within the past week,” The keys jingled as she moved her hands. “The keys must’ve really ruined her day. I wonder what they’re to.”
“Hopefully somewhere in England. Where’s the money from?” Hannah gestured to the yellow coin purse. Y/N shrugged and tossed it towards her friends. It was rather small, barely the size of Y/N’s palm, and it had a gorgeous diamond quilt pattern.
“No clue. I haven’t opened it if I’m being quite honest.” Alex’s noble fingers undid the clasp and looked inside.
“Well, it’s definitely British currency, which is helpful.” He tipped the pouch and emptied the contents into his hand. As expected, a variety of different coins came toppling out, along with a folded piece of paper and various pins. “Can I have this?”
“No, you cannot have my soulmate’s belongings. Give me that,” Y/N grabs ahold of all the bag and its contents. With her hand cupped like a funnel, the pins and money fall smoothly into the coin purse. Y/N discards the pouch into her bag and begins to unfold the paper.
She had expected the paper to be riddled with text, like a to-do list or a small reminder. Instead, it appeared to be a little photograph of a family. The paper itself seemed to be fragile as if it had been handled a lot or had gotten wet, so Y/N handled the photo with care.
The scene depicted the smallest of the group, a little girl, giggling up at the oldest as the other two looked on with large smiles. Y/N turned the photo to look at the back, just in case any date was included with the photo. In the same gorgeous script as the book, Lucy laughing at Peter because Ed insulted him “in the name of justice.” June 15 was written in black ink. Y/N turned the picture over frantically and scanned the faces of the family.
Susan was absolutely beautiful; her dark brown hair was styled in effortless waves and her lips were painted with a cherry red color. Her eyes were wrinkled in the corners, due to her contagious smile, and she looked like she was filled to the brim with happiness. Y/N had never seen such gorgeous baby blue eyes.
The poor girl was speechless, her mind running a mile a second and vision focusing on only Susan’s portrait.
“She’s gorgeous,” Y/N murmured breathlessly.
“Who is?”
Y/N looked up at her friends, turning the photo to show them.
“Susan, my soulmate.”
~
Susan read over the essay that sat in her lap, taking in every detail of the writing. It wasn’t hers, but it was her soulmate’s misplaced homework. The topic wasn’t overly exciting, an analysis of a book Susan hasn’t read, but just the way her soulmate wrote captivated her. Y/N L/N, which was the name written on the top of the paper, had such a poetic way of writing. It was as if she was telling Susan a story, rather than writing about an 18th century novel.
“Reading the essay again, are we?” Peter snickered from next to her. Susan would have hit him with the paper, but she didn’t want to risk damaging it.
“Yes, what’s the problem with that?”
“Nothing, Su, I just don’t think rereading missing homework is going to bring Y/N any closer to you. It’s over a year old.” Peter had found his soulmate when he was young, so he didn’t quite understand his siblings’ desire to find their other halves so quickly.
“Not physically, but I already know a lot about her from this one paper. I know her handwriting, how she talks, the way she feels about some things…”
“Yeah, how she feels about classic literature. Not exactly groundbreaking.” Peter sunk deeper into the couch cushion in an attempt to get comfortable.
“Maybe not to you, but to me it is. You don’t have to be such a happiness drain, you know.” Susan was growing more frustrated by the minute. She didn’t want her older brother to snatch the paper away from her, so she gently creased it and placed it into her notebook.
“I’m just taking the piss.”
“Well, it’s not funny. And shouldn’t you be doing your wash? We leave for school tomorrow.” Susan stood up, lifting her bag off of the floor and onto her shoulder.
“Yes, alright mother.”
~
“Y/N! Are you coming?” Hannah hollered over her shoulder. She was walking towards the train station with a large group of her friends. Y/N waved her off.
“I’ll meet you there! Save me a seat, yeah?” Hannah shrugged her off and continued the conversion she was more invested in.
Y/N sighed, watching their backs disappear into the distance. She never quite liked the group Hannah was friends with, so them leaving her out never quite bothered her. Especially when she could get sandwiches for the train ride.
The teen was waiting at a crosswalk when she spotted her. Susan was stood at the newspaper stand outside of the corner store Y/N was going to. She looked stunning as she flipped idly through a Vogue magazine. The sun shone across her hair and Y/N thought she looked similar to an angel.
When the light turned green, Y/N scurried across the street in order to meet her love. However, she paused a few paces away to steady her breathing.
“Excuse me, are you Susan Pevensie?” Y/N spoke, voice shaking. Susan turned around, utterly confused. Y/N was right in her assumption; Susan was in fact an angel. An angel that looked even more heavenly in person.
“Yes, and may I ask who you are? And how you know my name?”
“Oh, right, um I’m Y/N L/N. I’m not sure if you know who-” Susan’s eyes widened and she couldn’t help but cut Y/N off.
“You’re my soulmate.” Her red lips were slightly agape as she took in Y/N’s appearance. “Excuse my bluntness, but you’re even prettier than I imagined.”
Y/N’s cheeks grew hot and her fingers fumbled with the buckles on her bag. She was much more nervous than she had hoped, but Y/N couldn’t help it. Once the bag was open, she gripped Susan’s possessions and held them out.
“You need to keep better track of your things, love.” Susan’s perfectly manicured fingers brushed Y/N’s as she took back her book and keys. Y/N’s legs felt like jelly.
“How could you possibly know what I looked like?”
“You lost a picture of your family. Well, I suppose a coin purse with a picture folded inside. Still, a picture was lost and I saw it.” Y/N rambled, making Susan giggle. “I’ve been looking for you for ages,”
“And I you, darling.” Susan placed her belongings into her bag and embraced Y/N. Y/N didn’t quite know what to do; Susan smelt of rose petals and honey and her hair was so soft as it brushed against Y/N’s cheek. All the same, Y/N wrapped her arms loosely around Susan’s waist.
“Am I allowed to kiss you?” She whispered into Y/N’s ear. Y/N could have fainted on the spot, but she squeaked out a small yes.
Susan kept her arms wrapped around Y/N’s neck as she kissed her gently. Y/N’s thumbs danced across the floral patterned fabric that covered her hips as she kissed back. It was light and fleeting, but it still made Y/N feel like she was going to burst. The pair pulled away and looked into each other’s eyes. Susan’s were even bluer in person.
“Can I buy you a sandwich?” Y/N croaked, cutting the tension. Susan giggled happily.
“As long as you let me cover the dessert.”

[The fall] [Fun doodles] [Keyblades]
Fun fact: This was the only thing planned to do w/ this AU haha; how do I not know myself by now ;w; Also, here’s Anti!Qrow w/ Harbinger (I’ve never noticed him holding scythe form that way, so I thought it would be an interesting thing for Anti to do ^^)
Watch me cry, all my tears
After months of being trapped in Disney purgatory the Dark Realm, barely sleeping, not eating/nor needing to, near constant fighting, and being haunted by visions of friends/family/regrets. Qrow reaches a “dead end” (yes I’m ripping off part Aqua’s plot don’t @ me) there he’s attacked by a Demon Tower. Now, if he was at full strength and not so mentally exhausted, he would’ve had a high chance at escaping the void but, unfortunately, he’s consumed and is lost to the darkness. Clover feels that in his heart of hearts
It’s only a couple weeks (days?..weeks..eh) following that, that the displaced group of hunters have found their way to the door of darkness. They’re swarmed by Heartless, and when the door opens Clover, Ruby and Yang are practically forced through (they don’t want to leave everyone else to fight the hoard).
Since Clover, literally, holds Qrow’s heart (you know, w/o context that is super grim jfc) he basically has Qrowdar. What unnerves him is the feeling he’s held thus far had mostly been warm, turbulent and pained at times, but still strong. Now it’s cold, hazy and barely hanging on. Clover’s a sad boy but keeps a facade of optimism for the girls :,).
It’s takes a few days but they finally find their way to the shore where Qrow fell. They’re on edge from all the battles and visions that bombarded them. When DT appears they consider falling back to rest. That’s when Anti!Qrow appears from the void, drawn back by the strength of their hearts, destabilizing the tower causing it to disperse.
Qrow: What happened to me? You want that list alphabetical or chronological?
Anti!Qrow doesn’t want to fight them, he’s subdued and resigned and just wants to be left alone. His whole angsty speech boils down to: “I hurt everyone I love” “I belong in the darkness.” “All that’s left in my non-existent heart is despair. Leave me be, before I ruin you too.” :)
Yang is just done w/ this whole realm, and the terrible visions it creates. Believing this is just another illusion, she lashes out. Only to be blocked by Qrow’s own keyblade; all the others illusions faded as soon they were touched. Now she’s determined to beat some since into him and this is where the fight starts. Even though Clover and Ruby don’t really want to buuut...
Shamelessly stealing the duplicates from Aqua’s fight lol. Only because it would be creepy. Also, Qrow’s bad luck is strengthened (now turning this into a video game mechanic) has bursts at random. Anyone who gets hit suffers for it; either getting stunned, knocked back, or (as intended) getting a bad luck status infliction.
The way I played out the fight in my head; Qrow’s already a strong huntsmen (you don’t get a legendary title for nothing) who’s known to fight ruthlessly, combine that w/ keyblade powers and well. It’s in their favor that Qrow is tired and he’s also reluctant to fight them. It takes a while, but they finally whittle down his health that he enters phase 2 they can get a good few hits in. With a combination of Yang disarming him, Clover immobilizing him w/ KF’s line and Ruby using her silver eyes; they are able to dispel the darkness. The dark ocean tries to drag him down but, everyone’s hearts reaching out to him is what saves him from falling again. ^^
They end up back in Destiny Islands after that with Disney magic. They have no idea where the rest of their group is at the moment, but they’re confident they’ll be alright. Being back in the realm of light causes all the exhaustion and hunger hit them hard. So they rest while they wait for Qrow to wake up.
Once they get past Qrow having a near break down over Clover being alive, they explain all the craziness of what has been going on.
Qrow is one stubborn, old crow, so he insists that he’s alright; just in need of a nap and some food that’s all. He goes to stand up and would’ve hit the ground if Clover wasn’t ready to catch his bird. Unconsciousness doesn’t count as a nap buddy.
Also, Qrow’s heart hasn’t returned to him juuust yet 83c
💕 Feel free to send me any questions or shoot me ideas for my AU(s). 💕

No. Are you afraid of dying? Yes. Do you like bananas? I love bananas. Do you like the show American Dad? Meh. It has its moments, but overall I’ll pass. I don’t ever watch it by my own choosing, I just catch it here and there because my family watches it. What TV show do you miss the most that's no longer on TV? Gilmore Girls, Degrassi, and True Blood come to mind first. Are you currently fighting with someone right now? No. Is your life full of drama? No. I have other stressful things I’m dealing with, but not of the drama variety. How long can you hold your breath underwater *shrug* Where's the last place you've been to out of state? I also did so on my own accord, I’m not blaming anyone, and I’m not going to say I hated all of it because I did have good times, but there was a big part of me that did so because I felt I had to. My friends liked to do it and I wanted to partake with them and not sit out on the sidelines by myself. Interview - Jumin Han
Ah I can’t believe Jumin’s bday is TOMORROW (uh when I post this it’ll prob already be the 5th but oh well I’m writing this on the 4th). This is the fourth part of my collection of pregnancy one shots. Not gender neutral, hmu if you want that! I hope y’all are liking these :’)
Summary: the news wants to have an exclusive interview with the Hans before Baby Han is born. Jumin is so soft.
The technicians had been setting up in the living room for the past hour for your interview. Jumin was very insistent on the fact that if you were going to do this interview while being under the order of bed rest, they’d have to send the interview to your home. He had you lay in bed as someone applied your makeup and did your hair. He was, in summary, very extra. But he was just being protective of you and the baby; it made you smile.
He knocked on the door, opening it slowly. “You look beautiful,” he smiled, sitting on the other side of the bed so he could reach you, all the stylists gathering around you from your side of the bed. “How do you feel?” He asked, watching your nose twitch as the lady applied more powder to your face.
You glanced up at him, a smile on your face. “Bloated,” you retorted, placing your hand on your belly as though to signify your little angel was most certainly the reason you were feeling such a way.
He chuckled, bouncing off the bed and making his way to the closet. There, he pulled out a lavender dress. “I got this for you to wear today, if you want it.” It looked like an empire waist and rather flows, your favorite sort of attire lately. You didn’t like anything constricting your belly; you still got nauseous easily.
“Looks pretty,” you smiled. “You think I have to wear shoes?”
He looked at you, more fondly than you think you had ever seen him look. “I’ll make sure the camera angles don’t show your feet, how’s that?”
He left the room, likely to go discuss this change with the camera technicians, leaving you with the ladies who were just finishing up. “You look lovely,” one of them said. “I know you may not feel it, but you really do have that pregnancy glow.”
“I definitely don’t feel it,” you laughed. You had been miserable lately. You just couldn’t wait for this baby to come out. Only two more weeks. “But thank you. I do feel a lot better after getting made up like this.”
The two women smiled, leaving you to let you get changed. About that. You wiggled off your shorts in bed, then padded over to where Jumin had hung the dress. You weren’t fond of light colors, they really accentuated just how big you were, but people loved seeing the bump. Everyone was talking about the new Han baby; it was practically unavoidable. You unbuttoned your shirt and started to slide on the dress. Of course, it got stuck around your stomach and your butt. This happened every time.
Fortunately, your husband seemed to detect you needed help. He slipped in the room, surveyed you struggling, then made his way over, grabbing the fabric and slipping it up for you. He made it look so easy. “This is definitely a two person job,” you joked as he turned you around, hooking the back of the dress.
“I’m more than happy to help,” he turned you around, keeping his arms on your hips and kissing your forehead. “I got the camera thing situated. They’re ready for us whenever you are.”
You let out a breathy exhale then grabbed his hand, allowing him to lead you to the living room (after checking your reflection on the way out, of course). The tv host was situated on your lounge chair, arranged perpendicular to the sofa you and Jumin were to sit on. The lights were blinding and gave you a headache. Luckily, you sat down quickly, which helped your head stop spinning.
“Well don’t you look beautiful!” The host greeted, taking your hand to shake it. “It’s so nice to see you again. Now I want to remind you, this is all filmed in advance, so you can have a say in the editing process if there’s anything you want taken out. There’s no pressure at all.”
His words made you feel relieved. You and Jumin had an interview with him over a year ago after your wedding, so you were familiar with the process. It was nice going back to the same person; you felt more at ease. “Are you ready?” The man behind the camera asked the three of you. You nodded your head and Jumin grabbed your hand.
“Hello everyone. Today we’ve got a very special treat, Mr. and Mrs. Han are here today to give us an update on the baby because honestly? The whole country has baby fever over Baby Han, and they’re not even born yet. How’s your pregnancy treating you?” He asked, turning to face you.
“I wouldn’t trade it for anything but... it’s been challenging,” you admitted. “I’m lucky I’ve had Jumin by my side. You take so much for granted when you’re not pregnant: putting on your shoes, getting dressed, making food. None of which I can do without him now,” you joked, looking his way and smiling. Your PR chair emphasized that you should not talk about your extreme morning sickness or bed rest on the air: people may worry, stocks may fall. Keep it general, they encouraged.
“I’ve heard you’ve taken some time off to be with your wife, Jumin. Is that right?”
“Of course. It took a lot of long hours and preparation, but we were able to get everything done at the company so that I could take some time to take care of her and then the baby when it’s born.” He squeezed your hand. It was nice.
“Now I’ve noticed you two have been saying ‘they’ a lot. Do we know a gender for the baby?”
“Actually, we’ve decided to have it be a surprise,” you answered, glancing down at your belly.
“Is there a certain gender you’re hoping for?”
You laughed. “I’m hesitant to say. What if that’s not what we get, then in the future they find this interview? They’ll never let us live it down.”
The interviewer laughed as well: “I suppose that is only fair.”
Jumin, using a hand to shield his mouth from the camera, mouthed ‘girl’. You giggled. The interviewer smiled.
“I think that would be very fitting for the two of you,” he responded, keeping it vague so the audience was unaware. “So how are you feeling about the pregnancy thing? Are you ready to have another baby already or are you dreading the thought?”
You thought long and hard about it. Luckily, Jumin got to the answer first. “I don’t think we’d be able to give you a good answer until we’ve spent time with the baby first. Or gone through the labor.”
“Yes, if we thought the pregnancy was a challenge, I can’t imagine the labor,” you commented, feeling heat rise to your cheeks. Talking about childbirth just felt so... intimate.
“I’m sure I don’t even need to ask, but all is good between you two? You seem closer than ever to be honest.”
Jumin squeezed your hand. He answered the question, but looked at you the whole time. “It’s been nice to spend more time together. I fall in love with her more and more every day.”
If you weren’t flushed before, you definitely were now. “It really does feel like the honeymoon phase everyday, huh?” You asked.
You hadn’t realized all your attention was on Jumin until the interviewer was speaking again. “Now I have one more question. What will poor Elizabeth the 3rd do? Has she been adjusting to all these changes well?”
Upon hearing her name, Elizabeth roamed into the room, jumping onto the couch and making her way to settle into your lap. You used your spare hand to pet her. “She’s been needy for attention, but then again she always has.”
“I think she can detect that something is going on. She spends all of her time with her and none with me anymore,” Jumin mentioned. It was true. Elizabeth stayed by your side most of the time, curling up next to you in bed all hours of the day.
“Well you have good training to be parents with a cat like her,” the interviewer smiled. “Thank you so much for joining me today. I can’t believe that the next time we talk Baby Han will be in this world.”
“Thank you,” you smiled, “we can’t wait.”
And with that, you had concluded your last social event before you were due. It was such a relief. And what did you plan to do to celebrate? Jumin helped you up from the couch, and after saying goodbye to the people in the living room, helped you to the bedroom where he drew a (lukewarm) bath for you. He sat by your side the whole time, whispering excitedly about the baby, the progress of the nursery, how he had booked the best labor doctor to be with you, and just his general hopes for your child. You couldn’t wipe the smile off your face, letting his soothing voice lull you to sleep.
//fam why did I think of Caesar flickerman from the hunger games the whole time I was writing that interview sigh. Also I’ve heard hc of Jumin wanting a boy no false he def wants a girl you heard it here first

Book Reviews 5&6: Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan & Alpha Force: Survival by Chris Ryan
This review’s theme is action and adventure ! audience age range: roughly 12 and up !
For this review I’m using the first book from two action/adventure series, featuring the only male authors I've selected of the ten books chosen for these posts. Both are action-packed books with ensemble casts featuring boys and girls, though the similarities mostly stop there.
As a lover of Greek mythology and fantasy in general, Rick Riordan’s sarcastic and upbeat hero of Percy provided a hilarious new way to look at the more serious myths concerning the gods and enemies of Mount Olympus (his slightly inaccurate retellings made acceptable because the series was made for a younger audience, not to mention it’s funny so who cares).
Alpha Force is firmly set in the real world, no magic to be seen, just hardened survival skills that seem more sitting to the SAS than a bunch of young teens- but with the author Chris Ryan being a member of the SAS himself, it’s exactly what you’d expect.
Nostalgic review
Rating: ★★★★★
Percy Jackson is one of those famous book series in a long list of teen/YA fiction that has gripped teens by the throat on its basic lore alone. During class my friends and I would go on Tumblr and Pinterest to pass time, and as readers we always ended up on That Side of Tumblr- yes, the side filled with cheesy edits of all the popular main characters of the time: Katniss Everdeen of the Hunger Games, Clary Fray of The Mortal Instruments, all the usual squad, and of course Percy Jackson himself. In a sea of lead female characters, Percy was a fun male lead to throw in the mix. It felt special too, that Riordan continued to write Percy’s story ageing him up as the books went on. We grew up with Percy too. I still keep collect the series even now; my brother’s gift to me for my 21st birthday was the Heroes of Olympus collection, though I haven’t read the older books in several years. I’ve always thought Riordan’s writing style not only improved over the years, but also adjusted well to writing for an older audience in the newer books, which was impressive. Additionally, Riordan listening to his fans and adding in more and more representation through great diverse characters definitely sweetens the memories attached to this series.
Alpha Force is just so good. And so underrated. It was between Alpha Force and Alex Rider for the second book in this review, but ultimately I decided enough people know Alex Rider (there’s a movie and a new series about him, go check the series out, it’s great!) and Chris Ryan’s hidden gem was something I wanted to discuss more. I went through an Extreme Survival Adventures book phase during early high school, devouring all kinds of action from deep-sea diving to climbing Mount Everest and every shipwrecked story on the shelves. I’ve always been a huge fan of the ensemble character groups where everyone has a distinct role that no one else can fill; I find it prevents boring main character syndrome where one singular person never needs any help and therefore has neither character development nor conflict. The Alpha Force series managed to deliver fantastic action sequences, smart yet surprisingly realistic characters and somewhat rarely in my experience- incredible female characters who actually had real personality and arcs that belonged to themselves and not the male characters. Honestly, this assignment has been a great excuse to make myself read these books again!
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief Review
Post-read: ★★★★
Synopsis: when struggling student Percy Jackson’s pre-algebra teacher transforms into a monster on school grounds and tries to kill him, Percy runs home to be told the truth by his mother about who he is: a demigod, and upon his arrival at the safe haven for demigods- Camp Half-Blood- Percy discovers he is the son of Poseidon, with water powers to boot. With the help of a satyr named Grover and daughter of Athena, Annabeth, Percy sets course for the Underworld to prevent a war breaking out on Mount Olympus.
(I wanted to make this four and a half stars, but I am incompetent at adding in the half, so if you’d kindly just imagine it is there that would be great.)
Okay! Let’s get into it!
With the first chapter titled ‘I ACCIDENTALLY VAPORISE MY PRE-ALGEBRA TEACHER’, I think the tone for the story is established rather immediately. The first-person narrative allows the character of Percy to talk to readers directly, and it creates a very easy feeling of Percy recounting his feelings and adventures as if in a one-on-one conversation. I felt just as drawn in rereading as an adult as I did when I was in school. Percy doesn’t fit it in at any schools and has been kicked out of six when the first chapter begins. His ADHD and dyslexia make concentrating and studying hard, and he’s always restless. The only people he feels are on his side are his friend Grover and his Latin teacher, Mr Brunner, who seems to be the only teacher who doesn’t have it out for him.
As it turns out, neither Grover nor Mr Brunner are people! Grover is a satyr sent to watch over Percy until he reaches Camp Half-Blood, and Mr Brunner is the immortal centaur Chiron and the activities director at the camp, also watching over Percy. When the Fury Alecto- disguised as Percy’s pre-algebra teacher Mrs Dodds- tries to kill Percy on a school field trip, the satyr and centaur jump in to save him. Later at the camp, Percy continues to stay fast friends with the two and confides in them while they teach him everything about his new world. Percy meets many more kids at camp, all of whom struggled in the human world before finding their true capabilities upon discovering their status as demigods. Annabeth is one such kid, the daughter of Athena who is cold to Percy at first, out of loyalty to the history between Athena and Poseidon, but who ends up becoming fast friends with him, and later his girlfriend throughout the series.
Riordan’s writing is fresh, engaging and fun at every turn. His modern takes on the gods and their ancient stories and riddles makes for a terrific adventure, and the ‘quests’ undertaken by the demigods mimic the old mythology in a palatable way for young readers to digest easily and understand what exactly is going on. The best part about Percy Jackson for me isn’t the monsters and battles, but rather Riordan’s intentions when creating the series: he wanted to give his dyslexic son a hero he could relate to, and since the first set of books Rick Riordan has gone above and beyond expectations to create demigod heroes for kids spanning many different ethnicities, genders and disabilities. Of the many series popular among young people, I’m especially glad that this one full of so much representation is maintaining the hype it deserves.
Characters who aged well: Percy! At twelve years old in this first book of the series, and just the right combination of witty, kind, hot tempered, brave and cheeky to make a believable and lovable young protagonist; his diagnosis with ADHD and dyslexia not being portrayed as a weakness but rather a part of him makes Percy a special hero to neurodivergent readers. Annabeth, too, remains a great character, she’s intelligent, logical and ambitious in a positive manner, and never falls into the trap of being ‘not like other girls’.
Characters who aged badly: nobody! All the side characters are great, and even the villains are entertaining, especially alongside Percy’s ridiculous commentary. The gods are portrayed rather mockingly, which is a kindness really, compared to the awful acts they commit in the original myths.
Favourite scene/quote: ‘Deadlines just aren’t real to me unless I’m staring one in the face’ – I first read this book years ago and it’s still relevant. I can’t even be embarrassed to relate to it at this point.
My favourite scenes both centre on Medusa- or rather, her severed head. Furious with the gods- namely, Zeus, Athena and his father Poseidon- for sending himself, Annabeth and Grover on such a dangerous quest so quickly after his first day at camp, Percy stuffed Medusa’s head into a package and wrote the address of Mount Olympus on a delivery slip, ending with ‘best wishes, PERCY JACKSON’. To Grover’s distress at Percy’s being ‘impertinent’ to the gods yet again, Percy simply responded ‘I am impertinent’. 10/10 big mood.
The second refers to Sally explaining to Percy that she can take care of herself, and, leaving Medusa’s head in her fridge, Percy exits their apartment just as Sally’s abusive boyfriend walks in. The last thing Percy sees is his mother, ‘staring at Gabe, as if she were contemplating how he would look as a garden statue’. It’s a nice moment between mother and son, followed by Percy understanding the strength his mother has and how much she does for him.
Alpha Force: Survival Review
Post-read: ★★★★
Synopsis: Five teenagers end up stranded on a desert island after their sailing ship goes down at sea. Enthusiastic Alex, reluctant Amber and Hex and practical jokers Paulo and Li are all part of a ‘working eco-voyage’ that quickly falls apart, leaving them to survive on their skills alone against komodo dragons, sharks and modern day pirates somewhere on the Indonesian archipelago.
The story begins with Northumbrian boy Alex- the closest to a main character out of the five- scrubbing the deck of a ship called the Phoenix and lamenting the fact that he’s been lumped in with four people he would never have chosen to be in a watch with. Assigned to A-Watch by their mean supervisor Heather, Alex finds himself the unofficial watch leader… and the only person who really wants to be there. Also in A-Watch is Amber, the daughter of African-American software billionaires who recently died in an accident and left her the sole heiress to the fortune. Amber, still hurting from her parent’s death, is furious to be on board the eco-voyage organised by her Uncle John, who believes she needs to move on in a place outside her comfort zone. Amber spends a great chunk of time antagonising English hacker Hex, who was sent on the trip as a punishment by his school for ruthlessly hacking into the accounts of a teacher who bullied his younger brother. Rounding out the group are Paulo and Li, both of whom are very athletic and thrive in the outdoors, but also uninterested in doing any real work aboard the Phoenix. Paulo is a charming ranch hand from Argentina who loves food and flirting; Li is the Anglo-Chinese daughter of zoologists who enjoys testing out her martial arts on Paulo.
After an argument with their supervisor Heather, Amber decides A-Watch should steal food and relax in a small boat beside the ship to thwart her- a fine plan at first, which goes haywire after the rope frays and they awaken to find themselves in the middle of the Java Sea with no one knowing they’re missing. Tensions rise between the teenagers as they panic over food and safety as they work to survive. Hex just barely survives a Komodo dragon attack, and their hope for help in spotting a family aboard a yacht goes down the drain when it becomes clear they are hostages of modern-day pirates. Luckily, for the family- the Larousse family who were friends with Amber’s parents, no less- the members of A-Watch manage to put aside their differences and put together their skills to save the day.
By the end of the book, the group have outwitted the pirates, saved the Larousse family and successfully sent an SOS signal leading to their rescue. During their recovery in hospital, Amber learns the truth about her parents: behind their billionaire software company her parents worked as undercover agents around the world, fighting against corrupt governments, powerful cartels and other dangerous ventures. Amber’s Uncle John agrees to let the five carry on her parents work as a team, noting that five teenagers could easily slip into situations that adults can’t. Hex then announces he has a name for the five: Alpha Force, taking the first letter of all their names and representing the new beginning for Amber to move on from the Omega (ending) necklace she wears round her neck to remember her parents.
Characters who aged well: all of them!
Alex’s love of the outdoors is endearing, and he never underestimates anyone else’s skills despite being the most prepared for struggles in the outdoors; he is fairly introverted and thoughtful without being boring, I think he’s very sweet.
Amber’s presence as a billionaire black girl with great navigational skills was a fun subversion of the unfortunate stereotyped roles black characters are given; she has great character development without losing her sharp-witted personality and she’s very funny.
Hex plays off Amber’s banter with ease after their initial clashing, and I like that, though he loves his electronics, he never lets the team down by adapting to the outdoors.
Paulo is just adorable, a charming boy from a ranch who likes to flirt with the girls he likes but always respects their boundaries. His positivity is also very uplifting.
Li: ahh my cool favourite Li. Not just providing Asian representation, but also mixed representation, which I was very pleased about as a kid, and still am. Similarly to Amber, Li subverts a stereotype of her own- she’s knowledgeable about things without being a nerd, and gets to be the most playful character alongside Paulo. In my experiences with male authors, the girls rarely get to be the ‘funny’ character so I always enjoyed this!
Characters who aged badly: no one!
Favourite scene/quote: “‘Or was Heather right? Are you too good for us, Alex?’ said Li, slyly.”
This quote signifies when Alex properly commits to being a part of A-Watch, going along with Amber’s plan to ignore Heather’s disciplinary instructions in favour of ‘stealing’ food. It’s the first time the group work as a team, and his hesitation gives way to helping his new friends even though he never does anything against the rules. I also just enjoy Li’s sneakiness at any time, really. The following scene where the five relax under the stars eating food and getting to know each other before all hell breaks loose is nice to read, and all the action sequences are really great, especially Amber’s dive with the sharks while escaping pirates.
Overall verdict:
I wanted to give both of these books four and a half stars, so let’s pretend I figured out how to do that. The only reason they both don’t get five stars is because the following books in their respective series improve after the first ones- both in writing style and character development- and I’m allowing room for that.
Starting off with The Lightning Thief, the headlong dive into action from chapter one was so fun, and learning about the monsters and mythology in time with the main character is always a welcome addition. As someone who read the original myths before any Percy Jackson novels, hearing them retold from Percy’s humorous perspective is very amusing. Anyone familiar with Percy Jackson knows that the movies released a few years ago were kind of a major letdown compared to the books, so the fact that Disney+ has now taken the series on board and begun casting (worldwide!) is super exciting! In line with Rick Riordan’s mantra of inclusivity, anyone of any ethnicity or gender can apply for the roles, which I think really fits the concept of what Percy Jackson represents.
There were very few reviews for Alpha Force due to how underrated it is, and all I could find was a few comments on Goodreads. One person mentioned that they felt the beginning of Survival was slow. I personally don’t know what ‘slow’ refers to in this case, as I felt the introductions and set up all very natural and in a way, necessary before the serious action kicks in. However, I tend to enjoy a few quiet scenes focused on character development that might not be for everyone. I’m still pretty sad there’s literally nothing else about this series on any fandom pages or anything, but I suppose I’ll just have to resign myself to just me and my brother talking about it!
In the case of both books in this review, my memories of these series were not simply clouded by the rose-tinted lenses of nostalgia. I remain just as impressed and in love with the worlds and characters within the stories, and I hope other people enjoy them as much I continue to.

Polaroids
Request: Like I already told you for my Liz Thompson x Boyfriend! Reader where the two of them are going on a road trip and the reader has to take photos of the trip and LIz: The eldest of the Thompson sisters request. I would like this request written as an one-shot
Title: Polaroids
Genre: I hope you don’t mind the request being marked as a fluffy and romantic piece!
Pairing: Liz Thompson X Boyfriend!Reader
Notes: Fair warning before I begin, I want to preface everything I say with this: the work is cheesy, the work will be very cliche, but I do hope that it comes off as cute and acceptable. Thanks for the request!
(Also, I took some small liberties and made the characters older for the idea to work. I hope you don’t mind that!)
Below the cut!
Death City was sparkling under the sun, the heat pounding on the walkways and buildings. People were walking around from ice cream stand to cafe, and the weather was making itself obvious on their faces.
The rushing crowd was big, but nonetheless, Liz and (y/n) had managed to sneak away for the time being. You had dragged Liz on a date, and it was a time spent trying to get Kid to let Liz go for the day - “He needs his weapons, and he had to have symmetry!”
Safe to assume, Liz was able to be free of the teenage reaper for the day (as long as she was prepared to come by if a kishin were to show up), and she was as happy as could be. In typical fashion, she was complaining, but (y/n) and her wouldn’t have it any other way.
The couple were holding hands, a safer way to go through the town without dealing with heatstroke, when an idea hit the male. “Weird idea, how about a road trip? Maybe later this week, possibly even today?”
The dirty blonde blanched before responding, “Kid would flip, babe.It would take a lot of convincing.” (Y/n) groaned at the realization - his girlfriend’s right, Kid wouldn’t allow it. That is, unless...
“What if we invite them to come with? Or, at least give them the warning?” he inquired. Liz had stopped for a second, trying to deliberate the idea quickly. (Y/n) found the image of her pouting just the slightest super cute, though he knew he had to hold off from doing that if it meant the thought would come somewhat to fruition.
She smiled after a few seconds, “Tell me about the plan over coffee, and we may have a deal.”
(Y/n) snickered at the compromise, rolling his eyes with a grin, but gently tugged her to the nearest Deathbucks. “First things first....”
...
Overall, the idea deliberation went fairly well, but the fact of the matter was: the rest of the group would be a hazard to a peaceful experience.
The couple had come to this conclusion by the time their date had come to an end, and this led to a compromise in which (Y/n) and Liz would do the trip themselves, and if needed, could allow the team reason to find them in the case of a kishin attack.
It seemed to flow pretty well, and the idea was considered and confirmed. After all, a meister needs their weapon, and with Kid you had to be careful. Luckily, the plan went by well with him (Patty was flipping out throughout the whole pitch) and Liz had already started to get her stuff together. Once you got the confirmation, you did the same.
It took a few days to pass, but everything was prepared and you two left at an ungodly hour (4:30 AM to be specific). Liz was extremely tired, so she didn’t last too long with the softer music playing from the speakers of the taller male’s vehicle. Though he was also tired, (Y/n) had to stay alert if the drive was to be safe.
The specialized playlist had continued to play throughout the time on the road, as well as when (Y/n) had peeked over at his girlfriend in the passenger’s seat. Her hair was strewn about the headrest despite being tied into a ponytail, her jacket had slipped off her shoulder, and her eyelashes were casting shadows on the top of her cheeks.
“An opportunity, perhaps...?” the male had inquired under his breath. His own thought overwhelmed him and he pulled off at a nearby rest stop.
(Y/n) had to get the picture, and what Liz didn’t know was that her boyfriend had brought a polaroid camera with his stuff. And it was sitting in the bigger pocket of his travel bag in the backseat of the vehicle.
Given the scenario and the photo op, he quietly leaned back and grabbed the camera. After checking to make sure she was still asleep, he snapped a picture and waited for the photo to come out.
Once it was in his hands, he put the picture in his wallet and slid the camera back into his bag. ‘I’ll tell Liz later, she’ll have a field day if I tell her now.’
He had checked the time once more, and with it now hitting 7:30, hunger pains were bound to strike them soon enough. With no food, the couple (on both fronts) would definitely be angry.
“:Liz? Hey, Liz, baby?” He had started to shake the sleeping female, which only elicited a groan. “Liz, come on.” Still shaking her, still shaking her, still shaking her.... “Baby, come on. We need to eat.”
The mention of the food was what caught her attention, and she opened one eye while muttering about food under her breath. “Food?...Mmm, I’m getting up....”
The male deadpanned and watched as she lethargically pulled herself up, making eye contact and smirking just the slightest as she flung the vehicle door open energetically.
“What the- you weren’t asleep were you?” Liz giggled as she was able to recount the photography moment. The male’s jaw was on the floor, but he trailed after his girlfriend and partook in mutual teasing throughout breakfast.
...
Eventually the two had to switch out. There was a plan, after all (courtesy of (Y/n)), and they had to keep it going strong if they wanted to make it to their predetermined destination before 2 PM.
Now, seeing as it was pushing time for the two to leave from breakfast, they had to hurry. Guess whose job it was to drive this time?
That’s right, Liz’s. And boy, oh boy, was she hesitant.
That being the case, though....
(Y/n) had taken the liberty of paying, so that left Liz to start the car up. That also left her some time to snag the polaroid and snap a picture or two. So, snag she did.
‘He’ll never know~.’
Either way things worked out, as he left she snapped a picture of him in the sunlight. The wind had been flowing, he was shielding his eyes from the light, and he was fair distance away so the chances that he would suspect she had taken a picture was very low.
Thought the walk wasn’t that short, she had rummaged around in her bag and hid the camera behind it as the photo processed and came out. When it was out, she had hid it in a compartment in her stuff and grabbed her sunglasses before moving the camera into the blanket in between their stuff.
Liz, looking posh with her dark sunglasses and pristine white tank top and denim shorts, had noticed the taller male looking at her through the windows of the vehicle.
Fake ogling, ‘aah’ing, and a raised eyebrow were a result of that. He had encouraged her to strut even more than she already was and was dead set on making his jaw drop on the floor before the end of the night.
She was already working there, and (Y/n) had burst out laughing when she had opened the door and her smirk lifted into a goofy Grinch face. She eventually broke out into belly laughs after he sent one back at her.
Yes, little words were exchanged, but the whole scene was refreshing for them (considering they deal with kishins fairly often).
...
The sun had only gotten brighter as the time had passed by. When they had gotten stopped at a light from time to time, too - well, prime time to listen to her hilarious rants of anger regarding life in general.
Granted, (Y/n) did the same, but his angry rants never matched up to her’s if they were to pop up out of the blue.
They had spent a good hour belting along to songs blasting through the speakers as well, and given the chance that (Y/n) had reached behind to the backseat to grab a water bottle, he had also grabbed the camera.
Though it was becoming a game of back-and-forth with a camera, he wasn’t bothering to hide the fact that he was down to take a picture (or five) of his glowing girlfriend.
In fact, when she was singing along to some obnoxious road-trip rock, they had been going along a forest road after leaving the city. The trees letting in small glimpses of sun through their branches framed her face perfectly, and the little wisps of hair that had popped out of her ponytail were visible.
The perfect, aesthetic, and beauty capturing photo of Liz Thompson. A woman he is proud to call his girlfriend.
As he lifted the camera to the light and took the picture, his nimble fingers froze when Liz peeked over at him and rolled her eyes. (Y/n) let out a short giggle when she looked away and continued belting the notes out of tune.
A quick snap sound didn’t phase her as she just chuckled and continued on her action as he waved the photo to see it better after it was ejected.
“You are loving that camera aren’t you, babe?”
“Hmm? Oh, I’m loving the camera? Are you sure you aren’t, princess - cause it definitely loves you.”
“Oh, shut it. I could say the same for you, you loser.”
The laughter that filled the room following the banter was contagious, though that moment allowed it to be reserved for the two of them alone.
...
Yet again, as lunch began to loom over the two, the sun had continued to beat down upon the couple. They were able to determine that they wouldn’t last much longer without any filling food, as well.
Yeah, they needed to find a restaurant or rest stop soon, or else their angry rants and singing would become more obnoxious and annoying. The conversations they were having were also beginning to cut themselves a little short.
That, though, was not going to be allowed throughout the course of the trip. (Y/n) had pointed out where things were as they were nearing a small town en route to their destination. The quickest place to go just so they could maintain time happened to be a small hometown diner.
It was bustling with life, seeing as it was lunchtime, and people were smiling excitedly over coffee and homemade hamburgers as the couple observed the scene through the window. Liz was pulling into the decently sized parking lot, and as she did so, the male beside her had reached behind him to grab his wallet from his bag.
The sound of her moving the gear shift to ‘P’ alerted the male as the car stopped. He held his leather wallet in his hand as Liz pulled the keys out of the ignition and tossed them to him - they hit him in the shoulder when he tried to dodge.
“Oh my Death, what the-”
“You of all people should’ve seen it coming, babe.”
“Oh yeah? Well, I was going to pay for both of our meals, but if you don’t want food, I guess...”
“Fine!”
(Y/n) chuckled at his girlfriend’s antics before opening the car door and leaving the vehicle. Liz pouted and rolled her eyes before doing the same.
While they were walking to the front door, Liz snatched the camera from her boyfriend’s hands and snapped a quick picture of his shocked face before waiting for the photo to come out. He laughed and snagged it right back.
“Had to get your fill of payback, didn’t ya, princess?”
“Okay, you seriously need to stop calling me that.”
“No can do, princess.”
...
The both of them had been seated by a sweet middle-aged woman who then took their order. She had a huge smile on her face, and (Y/n) was beginning to find it addicting.
As the woman went back to get their drinks of choice, Liz had sent a look towards her boyfriend after noticing the look that settled on his face. He had a simper that stretched to his eyes as he held the camera up and grabbed her hand that had been resting on the table in front of them.
With a playful glint in his eyes, he raised a question. “So, who’s taking the picture?” As he finished his inquiry, Liz rolled her eyes.
“You really are a romantic, aren’t you?”
“So I guess it’s me, then.”
She let out a snort and gestured to their intertwined hands on the table. “Go ahead, you idiot.”
A calm smile made its way onto the male’s face as he snapped a picture of their hands from above, the light hitting their flesh through shadows that were cast from the condiment bottle set up beside other consumer-used additions.
They (read: (Y/n)) had continued to snap photos of extra cheesy moments shared between them over lunch.
One photo consisted of Liz, a burger in her one hand and her other reaching to cover the lens. Another consisted of (Y/n) stuffing his face with his food, which Liz found hilarious and couldn’t resist the urge to take a photo of. The final photo in the ever-growing stack of their lunch endeavor was one in which there was a kiss - a short peck on (Y/n)’s cheek on the way out of the establishment.
As they left the diner, Liz tossed the keys to the towering male and slid into the passenger’s seat as soon as the doors were unlocked. (Y/n) slid the camera to Liz as he entered the vehicle, and she took another picture of him from the seat beside him.
He just shook his head with a loving smile on his face, watching as she waited in clam delight for the picture to come out so she could see it. He then directed his attention from his girlfriend in the passenger’s side and to the vehicle, turning it on and leaving the lot in favor of the road.
There wasn’t much more time until they reached their destination.
...
Given the scenario ((Y/n) behind the wheel, Liz holding the camera in the passenger’s seat), it wasn’t shocking when they both went on about their day as they had been - off-key singing and taking charge of the other’s road rage.
While the upbeat music had continued to play throughout the surrounding speakers, Liz had the polaroid up against the sun. She had snapped a few pictures of the passing skylines through the trees, of the clouds in the sky at just the right angle. And the best ones? Well...
In her mild frenzy of photography, she had snuck multiple photos of the male beside her while he was driving. Some were funny (sometimes catching him pretending to belt out a high note, sometimes catching him holding up a finger to the driver in front or behind them with a disgusted grimace on his face), others were just beautiful.
His silhouette was outlined by the afternoon sun, his sunglasses glinting in the light, and everything reflected just perfectly. ‘Yeah, I regret nothing.’
“Hey, princess, you done admiring those photos of me you took?”
Liz rolled her eyes at (Y/n) as he smirked at her expression. “You mean your mug? Yeah, right...”
“...mhm, be honest.”
“Fine - yeah, I was. Happy you cocky loser?” Liz uttered sarcastically, a smile sweeping across her features. (Y/n) had a similar joking smirk cross his face as she finished her statement.
Soon, they reached a stoplight. It was here that Liz snapped another picture of the male and waited for it to eject from the camera as (Y/n) had checked the street signs.
“Hey, Liz. We’re almost to the peak.” Her ears seemed to perk up at the statement.
“Really? We’re almost there?” she questioned excitedly, her boyfriend observing her reaction from his peripheral vision. A smirk began to rest itself on his face, and he chuckled just the slightest.
“Give it a few minutes, okay? If you’re thirsty, we can stop somewhere and get something to drink before we get there so we don’t die of dehydration.”
Liz rolled her eyes at him, snapping a picture of his overdramatic expression - a hand, positioned on his forehead, in a woeful pose. He let out a chesty laugh after the image was taken and continued on the road to the peak.
...
Time had seemed to slow down as Liz’s adrenaline started to kick in. She had suggested that they go to the peak, but she wasn’t sure that (Y/n) would agree with the idea. He’d never been the most romantic type, nor had she, but she wanted to try to be.
It seemed that he wanted to as well, because he had told her what he had originally planned. Liz was ecstatic when she became aware of his romantic sunset-date that he had thought of.
While the time was starting to get to her, especially after (Y/n) had run in a gas station and picked up something for the two to drink other than warm water. Things did come to a head when they made it to the destination, though.
This image in front of them made the two of them become quiet.
The both of them had only ever imagined what the view would look like, though (Y/n)’s was much more gorgeous than the setting sun in front of them. Liz, lit up by the purple and orange glow of the sun with the shadows of trees behind her acting as a frame, made his cheeks flush and his eyes flash with hearts.
Liz had left the polaroid in the vehicle in her rush, and the male had noticed it. The amount of joy he had when he realized that, had he not grabbed it, this moment couldn’t and wouldn’t be captured was through the roof.
He had to get a picture. Now. So he did.
The sound of the camera shutter drew Liz’s attention away from the rocky, glowing landscape. “What was that for, you loser? You distracted me.”
With a laugh to start, (Y/n) uttered a statement that made her cheeks flush tomato red. “I couldn’t help it, you were glowing. That, and the angle was perfect - you literally made the landscape so much more beautiful.”
Her boyfriend’s words shocked her, but she knew that this wouldn’t last long and her blushing face would be the target of teasing if she didn’t do something. So, she leaned up and kissed him quickly.
He froze at the action, and kept a tight grip on the camera as he stood still. ‘Okay, not happening.’
With almost superhuman speed, he had turned Liz’s body to face him and pressed his lips to hers gently. She had responded quickly, and in the moment, he had taken a picture of their lips intertwined.
The setting sun had made the whole scene take on a purple hue and, as it continued to set, everything throughout the day fell into place. All of the words settled into the chilly night air, their hands seemed to fit together even better than before, and the way that their heartbeats seemed to beat in time got even more synchronized.
The kiss got very passionate, and once the picture was taken, the hand holding it was dropped to the male’s side while his other went up to cup Liz’s cheek. She had a grip on his wrist and her other hand was resting on the back of (Y/n)’s head, and she had begun to push it into the base of his head as the kiss continued.
Before time had picked up, they had pulled away from the other and stared into the other’s eyes. Smiles slid onto their faces, but that was swapped for a look of surprise as Liz snagged the camera and took a picture of (Y/n)’s blushing face.
The fun continued to play out for another minute or so before they reached into the vehicle and set up a small rest spot. Liz had the blanket and pillows they had brought while (Y/n) had the drinks and leftover snacks.
Five minutes passed as they set up, and the rest of the night passed by with stargazing, constellation games, and more teasing and kisses.
By the time they had finished their items, their phones indicated the time, and they both packed up and got ready to head home or find a motel to crash at for the night.
...
Morning had already struck, and Liz was behind the wheel while (Y/n) slept in the passenger’s side seat. His hair hit the headrest in a certain way, the coffee that was sitting in the cupholders halfway empty an indicator of a caffeine crash he had a couple hours back.
‘6:45. Great, it shouldn’t be too much longer until we get back home.’
She smiled lovingly at the (h/c) beside her before redirecting her attention to the road and continuing back to Death City.

Learn Your Place - Moceit - Chapter 1
Devilish Agreement
Warnings: Con-noncon, kidnapping, shape shifting, BDSM toys, derogatory name calling, corporal punishment, threats, knife play, bondage (ropes, restraints, ball gags), D/s dynamics, female titles implying a male character, subspace, role play
Summary: Janus erotically enjoys a surprise tryst with three anonymous men that he is unable to say no to. Meanwhile, Patton is waiting for Janus, the love of his life, to be ready so they can start the next phase in their relationship. Their Dominant / submissive relationship that is.
Jay groaned bucking as he came across the floor as the criminal behind him kept fucking his ass within an inch of his life. The sounds of their hips smacking together was nothing to compare with the leather paddle that was connecting to the deceitful side's body with a steady measure. His shoulder blades, his chest and the outer sides of his thighs burned and stung. The pain only made his orgasm that more spine tingling.
"Came again so soon, slut? Wow, you're loving this, huh?"
"Knew you were a whore when we stole you. But fuck, never would have guessed two cocks could shoot so far as when that chain connecting your nipple clamps broke when we kept adding those weights. Your pert nipples are about as red under these clamps as your ass is."
Janus cried out in pleasure as the paddle connected with his backside yet again.
~☆~☆~☆~
Breathing deep, Patton waited for his cue. The big day was here. The moral side's mind raced with everything he needed to remember. To make this the best day ever for his love, his Janus.
As the grandfather clock kept clicking, Patton was distracting himself by nervously readjusting his snake cuff links on his baby blue button down. Then unbuttoning and buttoning the golden and yellow corset vest that framed his midsection so well. Looking in the mirror he judged the lacing perfect on the back of the corset, then taking in how the black slacks hung neatly down to his new shoes and the dirt smudge. Sighing to himself, Patton bent down to wipe his shoe off until it shined again. Patton adjusted his glasses so he could make sure it was all gone. Seeing his face was distorted and dark in the black leather.
Finally his reflection matched how he felt, for so long, on the inside.
~☆~☆~☆~
Strong hands were all over him, holding Janus down, holding him still so all three anonymous men could debase every inch of his body. A gravelly voice broke Jay out of his enraptured high at all the attention.
"Choose which body part you want redden next while my cohort fills up your willing ass once more before we go ask for your ransom." The dirty criminal chuckles as a switch blade clicks open, "And hopefully for you… Pretty Patton pays a pretty penny or we might have to dispose of your DNA filled corpse."
Janus came again with the threat, his two cocks jumping with each spasm.
~☆~☆~☆~
The wooden door bangs open violently, vibrating on its hinges from the force. Patton's eyes go wide as three disheveled and sweaty men burst into the room. His heart is pounding once the door is slammed shut and locked. Patton watches the common thugs shape shift back into their true forms.
Virgil and Roman were on each other as soon as their bodies solidified. Making out and groping at each other.
"Snek boy did so good. Fuck, I'm still hard even after coming twice." Roman said in between kisses as he grabbed himself to clearly illustrate his point.
Remus groaned at the two and started pushing them down the hallway.
"Rem?" Patton called after the twisted side.
"Our fun is woefully over. Your princess of lies is warmed up, slightly broken but roaring for more. That's why I gagged and trussed him up for you. And yes, Daddy, I made sure to put heavy emphasis on the areas you detailed in our devilish agreement." Remus licked his lips, hands twitching as much as his mustache was.
Patton could see the hunger in Remus' body. The darkness yelling at him to get back into that room, to take more than what had been offered.
"Go enjoy the rest of your day with my thanks, Duke." Patton commented as he stepped over to block the door. "By the way, I saw Logan overworking himself. Be a pal and help convince him it's bedtime?"
With a sharp nod and a new fire in his eyes Remus left to go torment his favorite playmate.
~☆~☆~☆~
Patton walked into the bedroom to the most glorious sight. Elegant dress torn and exposing thick ropes keeping every limb in place. Forcing Janus into a perfect pose: on his knees, arms tied behind his back. Approaching without saying a word, Patton took the ball gag out of Janus' mouth.
"Took you long enough! Here’s a tip for you: Heroes are supposed to show up on time! So, you know... it's not my fault that you weren't here to stop me…them... I mean stop them! Those bad men bewitched me with their huge bulging… knives. I couldn't help but to comply. It's your fault they kidnapped me and had their way with me over and over." Janus scolded while pouted trying to gain control and sympathy all in the same breath.
Patton smiled big while biting his tongue. He couldn't give the power over this soon. It would ruin their whole game.
"My poor slither-ella! Look at you. Your pretty dress is all ripped. The chain across your nipple clamps is broken. You must have been so upset when those strange men found our secret stash of toys in the locked trunk. Because being my well behaved princess you would never have told them where those toys were and what the lock combo was." Patton had crouched down to be on the same level with Janus. Softly touching Jay's jawline on his human side then grabbed the lobe of his ear, “Or would you?”
"How dare you! I am the innocent fucking victi…" Janus shook his head to get out of Patton's grip, but Patton tugged the ball gag back into his mouth.
"Ah-ah. If you don't watch your language, then you lose the right to speak." Patton tsk'ed.
All of Janus' curse words turned into muffled sounds akin to growls and moans as he protested. His fangs trying to puncture the solid silicone ball.
"Did ya ever think that maybe they wouldn't have kept using you, if you didn't sound so pretty moaning around their cocks? Or a ball gag! How could anyone resist?" Patton started caressing the leather band of the ball gag against Janus' face, while licking his own lips.
The shock on Janus's face was almost comical if Patton hadn't already known that expression was a cover up. One of Jay's tells. His skin was flushed with excitement, his pupils were blown wide with lust and both of his cocks were making his dress tent with their hardness.
Patton stood up, towering over Janus. Drawing all the attention to his change in demeanor.
"I am Govern Heart and I have so many wonderful things to correct about your devious behavior. Many unique things to lavish upon your soft body as the consequences.” Patton sweetly beamed, brushing the tip of his shoes against Janus' cloth covered cocks. "Do you want to be under my care?"
He couldn't help but lean in towards the warm leg that was so close. Janus rubbed the soft side of his face against Patton's thigh. Looking up, batting his eyelashes, still trying to get his own way.
"You need to learn your place, my snek-charming. We will address your worst qualities first. Like with those hoodlums taking them all on at once. Tsk. Tsk." Patton scolded as he leaned down, releasing the nipple clamps and slowly caressing the skin. Easing the intensity of the nerves waking up.
“Repeat after me: moderation and preparation is key." Patton said in his stern voice. Biting his lip to stop from smiling as Janus did a sing-songy call back through the ball gag. It was nice to see Jay slipping into subspace so early in their scene.
"Under my guidance, you'll be the belle of the ball. The most well behaved princess there ever was. I'll teach you grace and civility. How to entertain your public properly and safely. Make sure you're trained up right on how to take double penetration. Both oral and anal with no harm done to my beautiful novice. So shall we get started?"
Janus rubbed the snake side of his face against Patton's soft cotton pant leg, scenting him and gave the sweetest 'Mhm' sound.

updates i guess
this is gonna be a long post so im gonna put it under a cut so i don’t spam people. tl;dr, i’m removing fandoms off my masterlist, mental health is hanging by a thread, trying to be more active so please send requests!! etc etc
(also i will be replying to all my messages shortly im sorry for being unresponsive)
fandom list:
i am removing atomic blonde, baby driver, the bold type, altered carbon, x-men, harry potter and 13 reasons why off my fandom list. i wasn’t getting requests for atomic blonde & baby driver anyway, and i had removed 13rw a while ago but hadn’t made an announcement. i love altered carbon & the bold type, but i just wasnt getting requests for them, so there was no point in me keeping it. for x-men & harry potter, i feel like has been a long time coming. i really just don’t enjoy writing for any of the characters because i am not particularly attached to any of them, and i feel like i just write badly when i do get requests for them. i thought about keeping deadpool on my fandom list, but for now i’ll be taking it off.
divergent, the hunger games, arrow and black lightning are kind of on thin ice as well, but i’m keeping them for now. however, i may take them off later. i’m also not really attached to any of the characters for divergent and the hunger games, and i never really watched the last movies and don’t really plan to. as for arrow and black lightning, im so far behind on all the arrowverse shows and don’t really feel like catching up on them, even though i do really like some of the characters. i wanted to watch all the arrowverse shows, including the flash, but i may just want to focus on LoT and supergirl.
i may take off some other fandoms too, because i don’t know if it’s because my writing style is changing or what but i just feel like streamlining/focusing my blog more on fandoms that i genuinely love/am excited to get requests for instead of just trying to write for as many fandoms as possible (although i feel like i have been falling out of love with writing and so many other things in general which really sucks). while i do enjoy writing for a bunch of different characters/fandoms, it’s just been really hard to get inspired lately. i feel like im being hypocritical/contradictory because the whole idea of my blog when i first started was that i wanted to write for a lot of different fandoms (hence the url), but i don’t feel the same anymore. but again, that’s why i’m hesitant to take off more fandoms because this might all just be a phase that i’ll get over and i’ll be reinspired again
im sorry to those who were fans of the fandoms i removed. this all may change and i might add fandoms again, but for now, i just don’t feel inspired. i hope you understand, and im more than happy to redirect you to blogs who do write for those fandoms!!
masterlist
all masterlist links will be kept intact for fandoms that have been removed!
inactivity
you guys may have noticed (or not, bc i am so small and insignificant in this universe and what i do really doesn’t matter. yes, i am in that mood) that i’ve been less active. im not gonna get too into it because otherwise i feel like im complaining and i am very self conscious about that (even though i feel like this entire post has been a complaint so. whoops), but i do just want to say im sorry. my queue is currently at 3 posts a day, and i would love to get it up to at least 5, but i because of how little requests i get, i just can’t do that.
so, basically, i would love if you guys sent in gif imagine requests whenever you can! i honestly don’t mind if i get a spam of requests, i truly appreciate it! i’ve been wanting to open headcanon requests because i feel like that would help, but i just genuinely do not feel like i have the time/energy for that right now unfortunately
i’ve already mentioned this before, but how often i post is correlated to how many requests i get, so the more i can fill up my queue, the more i can post!
i am also close to a follower milestone (less than 100 away) so once i hit that i have an event planned that’ll hopefully increase requests!! just have to hit the milestone first lmfao
even though i may not have been writing as much, i have been trying to keep active on my recommendations blog @myriadrecs, so be sure to check out lots of amazing writing for other writers there!!
anyway, sorry this is long, i’m also not proofreading this because i have a headache and just want to get this post out there before i regret it and decide to stay quiet instead, so im sorry for the inevitable grammer/spelling errors that have probably riddled this post. i feel like i have a lot to be sorry for. life has been a lot. my job is stressful. im so tired all the time. and this post is very unnecessarily dramatic and im sorry about how whiny it is. but thank you guys for sticking with my stupid ass and i hope that you’re all doing well 💕

Mudad Adventures: The Hol Horse Special
Summary: DIO leaves Giorno with Hol Horse for a short vacation. Both Hol and Giorno are less than thrilled.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/23027542/chapters/55487023
“Uh sir, you want me to do what?” Hol’s jaw hit the floor as DIO once again explained his little plan of a weekend getaway. Leaving GioGio in the sole care of a Hol Horse.
“Are you sure no one else can watch the kid? What about Vanilla? That guys got to have ice cream and all that kiddie shit coming out of his ass right?”
“Interesting choice of words Hol… You’re not wrong by any means but I feel Giorno would be better in your hands,” DIO was trying to woo Hol with compliments but Hol simply raised an eyebrow and DIO straightened up.
“Well that little bastard would just have too much fun bossing Vanilla around all weekend and this is supposed to be my vacation not his.”
DIO sauntered off, it wasn't like there was much Hol could do to change the situation anyway.
~~~~~~~
Honestly Giorno was a little skeptical of anyone who was friends with his father, but out of all of his devout followers he found Hol Horse the most interesting. Yes Vanilla Ice waited on him hand and foot, but that was because he wanted to kiss DIO’s ass. Enyaba would bake him treats, and the D’Arby brothers would play games with him occasionally (very rarely would they allow someone as unskilled as a child to play though), and sometimes even Pet Shop would allow a soft head pat without threatening to peck his eyes out.
But of all of these people (and hawk) it seemed that only Hol Horse truly respected Giorno. Or feared him. But being five that distinction didn't really matter, Giorno just wanted someone to play with who wasn't doing it to impress his father.
Which is why Giorno was sitting patiently on the counter as Hol scratched around in the near empty cabinets looking for something edible. The kid was curious as to what Hol Horse would conjure up. DIO wasn't much of a cook but when he did it was an event to say the least.
Hol Horse gestured for Gio to come help. Hol easily picked him up and lifted him up to the tops of the cabinets. “Ok kid see anything we can eat?”
“Ummm,” Giorno’s eyes scanned the dark shelf, eagerly picking up spilled chocolate chips that actually turned out to be dead flies. Just the same he stuck them in his pockets for later, this time just a snack for Godzilla and not himself. “Oh! I think there's some of Pet Shop’s cans, oh wait they're tuna.”
“Great grab it. I found an avocado so I can show you the Hol Horse Special.” Hol sounded less than enthusiastic about the offer but he figured if he spun it the right way he could feed the kid and then DIO would be back and he would no longer be responsible for another human being.
Giorno swung his legs off the counter kicking slowly back and forth with a concerned look spreading across his face. He wasn't too much of a picky eater, with DIO you hardly could be, but he wasn't at all pleased with the sound of canned tuna mushing with the avocado. It was all a little too moist for his taste…
Hol Horse eagerly presented his masterpiece to the kid. One bowl. Two forks. Lots of green and pink. Hol waited expectantly for Giorno to take a bite but he noticed his apprehension.
“Oh come on kid it ain't that bad! Look I even sprinkled in some pepper and squeezed a little lemon. It's great! Real cowboy food. Tons of protein.” None of this was phasing the boy who just looked Hol Horse dead in the eye with an expression of ‘you're going to have to pry my mouth open if you want me to eat this shit’. Hol Horse knew he was going to have to pull a good old guilt trip on this boy.
“Don't you want to grow big and strong like your daddy? Or, maybe you’d rather I tell him you refused to eat and see what he comes up with? I’m sure he has some other special options for you.” They both knew Hol was referring to DIO’s questionable blood sources that he had been desperately trying to get Giorno to try. Maybe it was less guilt trip and more inspiring fear of his father’s wrath… Either way Hol was happy to walk that fine line of moral greyness if it meant DIO didn't snap his neck for starving his son.
Giorno haphazardly took the spoon, shivering because he knew no decent fish should be served with a spoon, and slowly brought it to his mouth. He held his breath, nearly plugging his nose, to swiftly inhale the food. Giorno shoveled the monstrosity into his mouth as Hol Horse slowly ate his portion, lounging against the counter and rambling on about how one of his relatives always used to make something like this and how it was a good meal for on the road etc. etc. etc.
For the rest of the weekend Giorno showed no expressions of hunger, afraid of what else Hol Horse might have tucked up his sleeve. The boy by no means starved, he had hidden stashes of junk food and candy all over the mansion, but he did make a point to avoid meal times with Hol Horse.
~~~~~~~
“DADDY!!” Giorno screeched as DIO opened the door the next evening. Giorno practically wrapped himself around the muscular thigh of his father. DIO cackled with delight. The boy was clearly happy to see him, and had even called him daddy, none of that damned ‘papa’ shit he had been spewing.
DIO was doing his best to act unaffected by his son’s rare display of affection, but spared the boy a little pat on the head before sending him off to bed.
He just as quickly turned to Hol Horse, “How did you do that so quickly? You drove him right into my arms! Did you see how he hugged my leg? It was almost like he missed me!” DIO was elated, this was by far the most emotion Hol had seen on the man (excluding blood lust of course). Slowly however, it all started to come together in Hol Horse’s head.
“Were you trying to punish your child by making him spend time with me?” Hol asked deadpan. He was pretty used to DIO’s antics by now and honestly should have expected as much.
“If you must phrase it that way so be it.”
With a look of utter exhaustion Hol turned to DIO, “You just had me watch him so he'd miss you.” There was no need to question, it was a statement both he and DIO now knew to be true.
“Was that not obvious?”

When your teen years come back for revenge ......
Hi guys,
So I’m sure you’ve all heard that after waiting 12 YEARS (yes like Sirius Black in Azkaban) Stephanie Meyer has decided to finally release Midnight Sun aka Twilight from Edwards perspective. Now once I hit 16/17 I was kinda over the phase a little but the other day when they announced the book I turned back into 14 year old me straight away. So naturally I decided to get all the books out of my bookshelf and check them out again and honestly I forgot how much I used to love the series.
I have always loved to read and honestly I could do it for hours easily no questions asked. Since this lockdown I have been reading so much more and that’s something I didn’t have a lot of time when I was at work so at least that’s one positive from this situation. But seriously though my old fan girl self has risen this week and I have loved every second of it. Since I’m always reading a series of books I decided to watch the twilight films and while they are cringey as hell I did enjoy myself a lot. I recently found out in 2015 Stephanie Meyer released a anniversary version of twilight where she swapped the genders of the characters minus beau’s (Bella’s) parents and I was so surprised I ordered the book.
So it’s safe to say my fan girl mode is alive at 26 which I never saw coming. It also reminded me how many book series I used to love like maze runner, hunger games , divergent and so many more!!
I’d love to know what your favourite book series are?
Lots of love
Bella x x
