Some things I certainly didn’t expect from The Witcher season 2 was getting out of it not just thinking Geralt is even more handsome than before, but also shipping Cahir and Yennefer…like what ?

the way yencahir just covered almost every single trope from a book i have yet to see but wish to see:

— established character arcs long before meeting each other

— one is the villain and other a gray hero

— they become tense allies forced to depend on another

— that allyship becomes something more and represents what could’ve been until they go their separate ways

"I need to get to Cintra," the witch explained, turning her head toward the much taller man, her shoulder almost touching his chest. “The both of us.“

“I’ll do what I can. But know this. You, you both ... “Jaskier paused, looking Yennefer in the eye. “... smell truly awful. I mean, ...“ He grimaced. “... it is like something has crawled up your arses and died. So.“ He waited a second for Yennefer to explode, outraged at his words, but it seemed to be his lucky day. The expected blast never came. Inwardly breathing a sigh of relief, the Bard strode around the counter toward the table where he had left his lute. “We’ll leave Oxenfurt at nightfall," he continued casually. "Plenty of time to take a bath before then."

He dreams of her in mustard yellow, over a plain shift of bleached muslin. The color is bright against everything else in the room, even brighter than the sun that filters from outside. He knows her eyes will be bright too, knows because they haunt him in almost every dream, though they are never this detailed.

On the edge of the dream, the edge of his vision, there is an odd black. An absence of everything, in a way that makes his skin crawl. He remembers an old adage taught to him in childhood: do not trust your dreams. The people you see will not be themselves.
