Tonight, right now, not even ten minutes ago, might have been the closest I got to an outright hatecrime
#morningtalks#Ask to tag#<- I have no clue what I'd have to tag this tbh#But for the story.#Me and my friend (crush) are walking at two am after quite the night. I am fully sober but she's got a few drinks and is just tired now#Like we're walking in silence she's just done type of tired#(part of me worries I was too in love with her tonight but I will do my best to rationalize it as Her Being Tired and not my fault somehow)#But yeah we're walking there and we see/hear a bunch of guys that are clearly not on their first drink#They plan to go to the bar we were so I'm glad we left but they are full on far right singing slogans about getting the leftists out#We cross each other on the street and they immediately begin asking us if we're lefties but then they see my pins#And the fact that we're two girls walking alone and assume we're both lesbians#Ify I obviously am. I have Pins lmao but my crush is not (?)#But yeah I had heard their slogans from afar and had already grabbed my scissors discretely in case something happened#I was genuinely just getting myself ready to fight them all just to leave my friend a chance to run if possible#But I was genuinely scared for her (and also for me but I have a bad habit of prioritizing others' wellbeing and especially here)#So they think we're lesbians and immediately start yelling they don't like lesbians and some other hurtful stuff#But it didn't fully enter my brain. I genuinely don't care#But I was still very afraid they DO something#Luckily they just walked away and we were left in peace but I was genuinely ready to do literally anything to not let my friend get hurt#By these men#I might see her a bit tomorrow. Probably not a lot but we'll see each other#And she doesn't seem to mind too much (she thought we'd see each other next week for class obviously and said “til next week”#(translated quite literally))#I thanked her for the evening still but I genuinely think she just needs to sleep and I don't have to overthink everything that happened#In the end#The first hours of the night were AMAZING though. Genuinely never been closer to her than there I adored every second of it#(and the other people were fun too but. She. Yano)#Anyways I have a thing at 11 I'll go sleep before being fully dead for that thing#But I might genuinely have a delayed reaction on those last events tomorrow#But now I gotta sleep too

seemingly the only way i can ever get into any new thing is if i spontaneously decide to watch/read it
#shut up danni's talking#in other news aloneintherain posted a welcome to demon school iruma-kun fanfic while i was sleeping#woke up the notification and thought huh well i don't wanna get up now so lemme boot up crunchyroll#i am now on season 2 ep 1#so that's fun!#and i would die for iruma - him and azz are deffo gay#my angel clara is either lesbian or she's aro lesbian and i can't decide which i like better so shrug#but that girl eiko is ABSOLUTELY bi honestly she's like my fave side character#uh big buff and dumb blonde is also a favourite of mine#he's so passionate abt the demon king and stuff and i cackled when he found out the demon king club was full of nerds#and yet he IMMEDIATELY without a single second of hesitation joined and like MAD respect i adore him#ameri is also cool but she is absolutely demiromantic with a romantic soul and i ship her w eiko#but man the relationship between iruma and his grandpa is so sweet???;;#i wanted to melt at the festival and the other classmates were like oh man bet you're the pride of your family iruma and he was like#YEAH I LOVE GRANDPA AND OPERA#i wanted to cry#also the fact that iruma puts his hair up in a ponytail when exercising is my absolute favourite thing#and is definitely a key reason why i think he's one of my faves i'm always weak when a character can have a small ponytail#anyways just letting y'all know and when i finish watching the anime fingers crossed my dumbass brain will let me comprehend the manga#idk HOW i managed to comprehend the mha manga way back when but hopefully it'll work this time too#i have a feeling that a lot of the fandom is weighted towards the manga spoilers rather than the anime which is fair#also i THOUGHT crunchyroll had messed up bc i was sure i had three more episodes left of season one and i did#when i finished s2 ep1 it tried to make me watch s3 ep1 which like no thank you#so now im gonna have to go back and be confused rip

it’s DELAYED but it’s HERE:
my list of favourite and least favourite books i read this year as someone who reads a lot and works with books <3 mostly horror books since that’s my area, but other genres as well.
BEST:
thirteen storeys by jonathan sims - given how big a tma fan i am it didn’t surprise me that i loved this. but i have NOT shut up about it since. one of the horror books i rec most often at work. genuinely just so good. i love his brain so much. i wanna study it under a microscope.
interesting facts about space by emily austin - this book gave me an autistic lesbian with mommy issues in the best way possible. loved it so much. cannot wait for her new book.
a botanical daughter by noah medlock - i could have CRIED from how beautiful this book was. basically a frankenstein retelling with a tender, botanical, queer heart.
butter by asako yuzuki - i’m not usually a big crime/thriller reader, but this FLOORED me. read it coming home from a trip and i was so enraptured by the story and the dynamics. saw it won waterstones book of the year so! good for her.
brainwyrms by alison rumfitt - oohh miss rumfitt you’ve done it again …. such a viscerally brilliant and at times disgusting tale. i recced this to a regular at work and she messaged me saying ‘okay. what the fuck did you make me read’.
it came from the closet: queer reflections on horror - some of horror’s big queer artists talk about how they felt seen in horror media as lgbtq people!! so interesting. picked this up at gay’s the word in london.
a lonely broadcast by kel byron - this felt like reading a tma episode and that is a compliment. so unique and stunning. i want the next book now.
evocation by s t gibson - i’m rarely a fantasy girlie but BY GOD this ruled. tarot inspired magic system with a toxic polycule? from the author of a dowry of blood? sold.
monstrilio by gerardo samano cordova - i named this my favourite read of the year on ig for a REASON. holy fucking hell i still struggle to find words for this book. so full of grief and love and humanity.
bury your gays by chuck tingle - now THIS was fun as hell. gay slasher w some truly brilliant moments.
summer sons by lee mandelo - godddddd this. just. yeah.
compound fracture by andrew joseph white - genuinely one of the best modern horror writers out there, and this was no exception. managed to snag a signed first edition through work and i shall treasure it.
a sunny place for shady people by mariana enriquez - horror short stories!!!! loved all of them so much.
witchcraft for wayward girls by grady hendrix - i know hendrix is one of those authors you either love or hate BUT. i love his work, honestly. reminded me of ahs coven and the craft. i got an arc back in october and devoured it.
she’s always hungry by eliza clark - ah tapeworms my beloved <3 i will read everything clark writes forever.
perfume and pain by anna dorn - this was so messy and fun. truly what it’s like to attempt to be a writer while also being just a very messy kind of sad person.
evil in me by brom - i am a HUGE brom fan and this latest book was everything i could have wanted.
don’t let the forest in by cg drews - GOD YES I enjoyed this. reminiscent of summer suns or a horror version of the raven boys. loved loved it.
blackwater by michael mcdowell - how the HELL have i never read these???? southern gothic perfection. there are a couple books and i’ve read the first three and adored them.
WORST:
my throat an open grave by tori bovalino - when i heard it was a horror novel about fae loosely inspired by labyrinth i was so excited. it, however, fell SO flat and i was bored.
day one by abigail dean - only read this because i got it for free from work. it was not worth the money. reminded me why i don’t read crime novels.
we used to live here by marcus kliewer - ok it feels a little unfair to put this with the worst, because i DID have fun reading it. i was just wildly disappointed. i had so many people telling me it was the scariest book they had ever read, and it just felt a bit like a sad attempt at ripping off jordan peele’s us.
incidents around the house by josh malerman - honestly, same reasoning as above. just less fun and more boring.
let the right one in by john ajvide lindqvist - i’m sorry but the writing here was genuinely just so bad that i couldn’t focus on the story itself. great movie, bad writer.
dearest by jacquie walters - could not tell you what happened in this book. could not make myself care.
mean spirited by nick roberts - i’m sorry but this was just so fucking stupid i couldn’t take it seriously. you might love it if you’re really scared of dogs or communication.

Identity crisis
So, I'm giggling as I type this right now because I feel a little bit stupid!!
So, for the last few weeks, I've been like...having a crisis about my queerness, and it was consuming my brain. Due to some recent realizations, which I won't go into detail on, I realized that I am in fact, NOT bisexual. It threw me into a spiral and I could not function properly. I thought I had all this BS figured out in high school but uh...apparently not. Comphet is a wild beast of an obstacle that I didn't even realize I was struggling with. I won't go into all of the details, but I try to share what I can and what I feel comfy with sharing, and this is something I contemplated making a post about for a bit. After a ton of thinking, I'm very much lesbian. I think I just pushed the notion away for a long time for the sake of potentially having a future where I would be accepted by everyone that is currently in my life, but it's just not realistic of me to live like that. I have a bad habit of doing things for other's that are detrimental to me, and uh, I'm workin on it.
It won't affect my content. I'll still do things for all genders because
I don't wanna switch it up randomly and
These audios aren't really for me to attract anyone personally. It's for the enjoyment of people in general and I have fun making all of my audios, regardless of who they are for. If a good plotline comes to mind, I'm gonna do it.
Anyway. Yeah. Sorry for the random disappearance, I was truly letting this consume my entire brain and I couldn't confidently get in front of my mic and make content with how distracted I was. I promise I will be back on schedule for everything, I have like 2 full audios that I need to edit and post and I'm working on commissions as well.
TL;DR: I beat comphet. I'm lesbian lol💕

wiggly worm wednesday 🪱
shout out to @someforeignband for encouraging this brain worm madness
(don’t know if i’ve posted anything from this yet so if i have pretend like it’s the first time you’re seeing it 🫶)
here’s a moment from my Twister / Storm Chaser AU
———————
Robin was full of questions when he got home. Steve debriefs the whole interview, conversation, whatever it was.
“Eddie sounds hot,” she says halfway through, “and that's coming from me, a capital L Lesbian, I don’t know how you survived.”
Neither does Steve, to be honest. He’s known he’s gay since Nancy broke up with his senior year. Being with girls in a more intimate way just seemed like a chore to him, Steve just thought that’s how everyone felt. That was until Nacy screamed in his face about how obvious it was he never enjoyed being with her like that, how he needed to get checked out medically because any guy would ruin his own pants just to feel her up behind the bleachers. And yeah, so maybe Steve never really understood why his friends were so obsessed with their girlfriends until he and Tommy drunkenly made out on graduation night and Steve saw stars when Tommy started making breathy sounds and grabbing Steve in ways that made him feel light as a feather and heavy as a brick at the same time. And, yeah, they never spoke about it again.
“Yeah well, I’m not trying to get into something right now Robs, especially not with my much older new boss.”
Robin lets out an exasperated sigh, “Steve you are no fun! Just because you don’t want to buy does not mean you cannot window shop. A daily dose of eye candy is good for the soul.”
So Steve has a small, tiny, minuscule crush that's not even a crush on Eddie. He’s attractive and he clearly knows it. Steve is sure everyone in this town has Eddie on their hall pass list.
What didn’t help this budding crush that's not a crush was Eddie showing up on his doorstep at one in the morning about a week later.
“Hiya Steve, time to go, A big storm forming a few hours away, If we speed we can make it in time before any rotation starts,” He says quickly, letting himself into the apartment.
He was in a cut-up Dio shirt that stopped just below his belly button and showed off his muscular arms. His worn jeans sat on his hips perfectly creating a perfect peek-a-boo for Eddie’s happy trail. And oh and Eddie now had thick and heavy rings on that made his hands look so much… more. Steve had to take a deep breath and force his eyes to stay up.
This is just embarrassing he thought to himself You’re not fucking thirteen Steve get it together.
Eddie’s eyes rake over him darkly. Steve looks down at himself suddenly very aware of only being in a pair of boxers and he turns around without a word and goes to his room to change. When he reappears he sees Eddie standing in the middle of the living room looking around like he’s afraid to break anything.
“So how’d you know which apartment was mine?” Steve asks.
The older man turns to look at Steve, now properly dressed “Steve, it’s not too many people moving in, just had to ask the night shift front desk what room ‘the new kids’ lived in,” he says with a sly smile, “and I happen to know Tracy personally so it wasn’t difficult to get her to give up the information that she definitely definitely should not just be handing out.”

When I was an edgy teenager, I was listening to a lot of punk, specifically grunge and riot grrrl (make fun of me later). While I liked how the music sounded (LOL, I was fourteen/fifteen and had no taste), the messaging was patronizing, even if I was the target demographic, technically. (I'm a woman with a lot of "checked boxes"). All of these artists were saying outwardly that "women, POC, and The Homos™ are totally oppressed and if you hate them then we hate you." Grunge/riot grrrl/punk, despite their desire to "make a difference," really didn't, I don't think, unless they wanted to make social relationships worse. It was also a genre full of white people who were drowning in white guilt and actively admitted as such - I blame feminism.
In their quest to sound non-bigoted, this group of woke/leftist heterosexual white men and bisexual white women were calling all minority/"underrepresented" people helpless victims and advocating for violence and degeneracy (which worked). Yes, non-homosexuals with white saviour complexes, you totally know what you're talking about. (There were a couple homos in there too, unfortunately, and they loved that these people were giving into their victimhood mindset - I still think we're better than this shit).
Oh, and the best part? If any woman, POC, or homosexual called them out on their bullshit, they called them handmaidens, Uncle Toms, or under the heterosexual's boot, including actively harassing them. They called them names, said they were unwelcome, and pushed them out of spaces they claimed to have made for minorities. Really sounds sexist, racist, and homophobic if you ask me.
The bigoted leftists who claim to be "fighting bigotry" is not new. The rhetoric people think is new and from the 2010s has been around for a long time. These genres came out in the 1980s and 1990s, but it feels like even back then they were lying about how bad things were. I've seen multiple videos, including street interviews, home videos, etc, from the time and socially, it was much better than things are today. People of any sex, race, or sexuality were friends and outwardly said they cared for each other. "I love my white brothers," "I don't care if she's a woman as long as she loves rock 'n roll like I do," "Straight people in my community don't give a shit about lesbians/gays, even when we're in drag/cross-dressing." (paraphrased)
I've also noticed that the metal bands that were grouped in with grunge/riot grrrl/punk purely by association (rather than by genres overlapping) had not only the best music, but the band members actually had brains and didn't fall for the victimhood bullshit, even if they weren't explicitly conservative. I still listen to Layne Staley and Kat Bjelland because of this, and metal has so many conservative (or at least non-leftist) artists. That's where it's at.
The "grunge/punk icons" who are still alive today are now the type who are advocating to let trans-identified males into women's spaces and cheering on the female teachers (trans-identified or not) who are grooming kids in classrooms, among other popular leftist viewpoints. None of their viewpoints have changed in over thirty years. I'd say it was a fall from grace, but I'm not surprised at all. My generation (Gen Z) loves them because they were/are saying the same stuff my generation says today, and my generation acting all shocked that this rhetoric isn't new ("They were saying this stuff in 1992!!! Can you believe it??? Can't believe nothing has changed >:(.") is unbelievably cringe and shows how uninformed they are. Yeah, nothing has changed - leftists are still pushing the same dividing, hustler bullshit.
TLDR: Punk has always been shit and full of pussies, metal reigns supreme.
Worthwhile read.
Also a great endorsement for late 90s-mid 2000s pop punk. Most of that was about how much school sucked and how no one can find girlfriends. Very apolitical. XD

OK finished misericorde vol.2 and been able to sit with some of it for periods in-between play that's allowed me to stew on it. This is going to be a messy collection of thoughts mostly due to the nature of this vol. Yeah spoilers ahoy of course i'll try my best not to reveal the final twist though
So, as i've already said, the music is so good. If the dev grew in confidence over the course of composing for the first volume, that confidence is back in full swing for a really cohesive and deeply enjoyable round 2.
Many times i've wanted to liveblog moments as a reaction but i really wanted to forgoe liveblogging it, even if i did end up having some parts.I think my more severe responses to moments haven't been posted up yet so
can we talk about angela and hedwig i have been fucking dying to talk about them and their whole situation they have trusted themselves into (but in hedwig's case maybe not fully understood). Like. Angela just coming out swinging in this almost hypocritical fashion of 'hey these women are just going to use you for your body as a cheap game they started with catherine and I (unlike them) will give you what you desire but dole it out in measured ways to you because i am above that while i see a self in you i am not like that nor will i treat you like that' and it's fucking WILD. it's wild. it's so juicy both for the interpersonal relationship and the mostly implied or unsaid aspect of that but also yeah woo yeahh woo nun yuri like in a way i guess she has actually perhaps fallen for hedwig (hurray for her pathetic demeanor being utterly captivating) as we can surmise from her pain near the end (oh am i going to lap up whatever drama comes between these two in vol.3) BUT LIKE IT BEING BUILT UPON each other trusting their judgement, it's so good, so good she had hedwig on a fucking leash, that knife turned her on or whatever, the butt flash? prepared to keep her under her sway like it doesn't even feel devious, perhaps it starts off as just keeping her in check but damn. goddam. it's hot it's really fuckign great character writing, the pain hedwig feels over the whole thing, conflicted through her faith and understanding of it (aquinas says it's sinful. hildergaard says it's sinful < LIKE AAAAAUUUUHGHH) AND THIS:
That isn't even all i could get into the whole 'hedwig realising she's a lesbian thing' but there is much there that could be discussed and i am far too tired to get into the weeds of it, and ill equipped to boot to really figure out how i'd want to talk about it too.
anyway
THEY JUST FUCKING DROP that catherine was stabbed twice before death. HELLO?? i feel like hearing that information rejigged something in my brain...was it mentioned in vol.1 at some point? i wouldn't put it past myself to believe that hedwig did forget that information but like. it severely narrowed down suspects to the obvious nun who wields and dagger and knows very well how to use it. except. well. eustace was always right.
unrelated but laughing at moira just dropping she absolutely knows how to cleanly cut of limbs and she says this as lightly as one might ask about the weather. excellent stuff and if i was to still suspect anyone, that at the very least had me still suspecting her up until tatiana spoiled the fun (hehe)
THE EYES THE EEEEEYYYYYYYESSSS did vol.1 have eyes...i feel like it might've. the fact they only start appearing AFTER hedwigs uh...trip? i guess we'll call it. Is it like. symbolism of voyeurism? her exhibitionist habits shes developing? someone looking at the narration? something haunting the space? the words? the fact that only we (the audience) can see these things. tatiana having no eyes revealed but the world being covered in eyes? the general effect of hedwig being overwhelmed by everything new and being observed as part of that? It comes and goes and i have to wonder what is the "trigger" for it because one scene will fade it in and another might have it for a few backgrounds then none at all.
There's many small things i've tried to keep mental notes on: eustace knowing what hedwig's whole anchoress deal is, the reaction the bishop had at the end 'you are here to keep the devils at bay' or something...? hedwig's whole...other self that manifests after her trip...the way hedwig reacted to words of the scripture/rights (fainting again...much like in vol.1? there is something to that perhaps).
i think there are things earlier on i may have forgotten that i wanted to talk about but ah well. the latter half of the game sticks in my mind more. Was glad to get more margaret in this one she feels the most elusive and hardest to grasp of the lot. Oh i guess the mention of catherine having really red hair strikes me as particular but hmm not sure what to make of it.
i suppose my biggest question isn't what's going on with our mystery narrators/editors (hehe) but rather...who was hedwig telling this story to?
EDIT: FORGOT about the swordfucking. amazing stuff. holy shit.
#misericorde#< for my own tagging purposes although i suppose that means it will appear in the main tag. therefore:#misericorde spoilers#i don't feel like this nearly all of what i wanted to talk about and i think i trail off a few lines of thoughts. sorry

First thoughts on a Fantasy High Dead Boy Detectives AU:
Ayda is in Edwin's role as the brains of the agency and the ghost from 1916 who escaped Hell. Her father was wealthy enough that she was able to go to a private all-girl's boarding school, but as the only Black girl at the school---who was also visibly queer and neurodivergent to boot---she was treated as an outcast, right up until she got sacrificed in a prank gone wrong. Now that she's escaped, Ayda uses the skills she's picked up and her love of mysteries to help out her fellow ghosts, though she's... not exactly the best at processing her feelings. Especially when those feelings involve her partner in solving crime.
Fig is in Charles's role, because there's no better fit for our lovely, heart-on-her-sleeve punk than the lovely, heart-on-his-sleeve punk---and let's be real, Fig is the most 80's Bad Kid. She attended the same boarding school as Ayda (just, y'know, seventy decades in the future), and while she fell in with the popular girls easily, it didn't take long for them to turn on her once she stood up for someone they were bullying... and, well, that led to her death. While Fig acts carefree and wisecracking, she carries a lot of guilt with her over the fact that she'd written off her family once she found out that Gilear wasn't her real dad, and not only did she never get to reconnect with them, but the experience was jarring enough that she made a lot of bad decisions, which led to equally bad relationships.
Adaine is in Crystal's role as our favorite psychic that is full of rage and anxiety. Her "David" is Penelope, who posed as a cool, older girl who gave Adaine the attention that she was lacking at home---and eventually became her first girlfriend, though that relationship was... not great. Now without a lot of her memories, Adaine's stuck with the Dead Girl Detectives, much to Fig's delight---and Ayda's, eventually. She gets over her jealousy way quicker than Edwin did. While Adaine wasn't a "make someone walk into traffic" kind of person pre-amnesia, she did carry over a lot of bitterness that curdled into something worse when she got swept up into the popular crowd, so... yeah, Fig and Ayda are kind of a blessing for her.
Figuring out the Niko equivalent was a bit harder, but I eventually settled on making her Lucy. She kind of fits the bill of someone who has a lot of sadness but is still unflinchingly kind, and between the pale hair and being dead-but-not-really-dead... yeah, Lucy's wonderful, and it means if I ever write this, I get to figure out who she is as I write her. Also, her dandelion sprites are Kipperlilly and Ruben, because I thought that'd be hilarious.
Thinking more into that, I decided that Sam would be a pretty good Jenny, seeing as she's got the bitchy-yet-loving energy that we all need. She's tired yet protective, closed off yet oddly kind... it works. Even though her style's more of a, uh "mermaid academia" type than goth, I think she'd make a really good Jenny.
And here's where you're gonna have to hear me out... Kristen is the Cat King, or rather, the Cat Queen. As tempting as it is to make her the church girl lesbian who's just come out and is struggling in a small town, I really wanted to hone in on her energy in Junior Year---a confident, easygoing, and hella flirtatious butch who's still a total mess underneath her swagger. I like to think that she was a human girl living in a religious family once (say, when settlers first arrived in Port Townsend), but she got really into witchcraft and wound up devoting herself to the cats, becoming an otherworldly being with nine lives as a result. As it stands, Kristen is hella fun, even if most of what she does is cause trouble.
With that in mind, Kalina was really the only character who I felt matched up with Ester's energy---except for Aelwyn, of course, but seeing as she's Adaine's sister and all, it didn't feel quite right. It could also tie in with Kristen's backstory---say, maybe Kalina was the person who taught Kristen about witchcraft, Kristen wound up getting the better end of the deal, and Kalina's still burnt out about two hundred years later. And in an irony of ironies, that resentment led Kalina to have a wolf familiar instead of a cat... who is, of course, our lovely girl Tracker. (Yes, Tracker has been turned into a girl before, and yes, she and Kristen are exes.)
I'm not quite sure who I want the Night Nurse to be, and you can tell that I'm saving roles for Gorgug, Fabian, Riz, and Ragh in case we meet characters like them in season 2---though, I have been fiddling around with the idea of Riz being an angel and a former agent of Heaven who Ayda and Fig have basically adopted into the agency. This is a first draft, so... yep!

listen, i feel like a literal freak typing this but would you guys be cool with me writing a mini fic of a reader insert x your headcanon joan? they're just the literal hottest yn you guys have ever made to me, and i want a heavily religious yn and her exploring each others bodies in the most lesbian and blasphemous way. im pretty sure if im not mixing this up, you guys briefly brought up envisioning joan as similar looking to corky from bound. i literally kicked my feet and squealed when that was spilled. if im mixing this up, just feel free to ignore this ask but i so badly want to write a short story full of religious trauma and shame. in ho1c, i love reading joan gradually become more comfortable with themselves around people like nina who get the struggle of being deeply entwined with religion before becoming a much more liberated and free version of themselves, as well as her interactions with those who just simply want to show them that sex isn't an act meant to dirty one's soul but rather something full of pleasure, experimentation, and fun. however, i cant hope but literally froth at the mouth over the thought of joan with someone much more reserved, who holds the same beliefs that their purity is above all else in order to not taint their god, and that engaging in worldly human acts like lust or intimate pleasure is a colossal sin of the highest degree. i want bitter yearning and unsure touches before a grand crescendo of the most vile sex between joan and someone; their inner turmoil and reactions. the blaming of one another for tainting their body, the hatefucking and regret, the gnashing of teeth stained with the blood and flesh of not just god, but a lover. anyways, yeah, that's my brain rot abt how i want to see joan spiral worse than they already are in a religious sense and asking for permission to write about it.
OH MY GOD PLWAZE PLEASE PLEAZE PLEAZE ‼️‼️‼️‼️
PLEAZE????
And yes Joan in my head is corky but dirty blonde :3
#PLEASE FO IT#NASTY YEARNING LESBISN SEX PLEASE!!!!!#asks#also you’re funny anon of course we wouldn’t mind#sounds awesome

Christmas Ghouls 5/10
WC: 1095
Relationship: Dewdrop & Rain
Tags: Fluff, gift giving
Notes: For Kirst <3
Read under the cut or on AO3.
This year Rain and Dewdrop had a different plan for the Chrsistmas gift giving. There wouldn’t be any surprise presents. What they’d do was something they talked about and have been considering for months.
Dewdrop was Rain’s, and Rain was Dewdrop’s, in so many ways. They were connected, bonded on deepest possible levels, their souls and hearts tied together with Lucifer-forged chains. They have been wearing each other’s marks for ages, always eager to renew the old ones and add some more. But there was something that, even after all this time, still seemed like a big step for them, in case of their relationship.
It was a mix of human and ghoulish tradition—exchanging rings and melding them onto each other’s horns to wear forever.
They picked simple designs, not very ornate. They’d both be silver, Rain’s with pieces of carnelian stone (pspsps), and Dewdrop’s with azurite (look here). Simple, but carrying great meaning, sentiment and symbolism.
Both ghouls were extremely nervous, worried that the other would decide it was too much and quit at the very last moment. Of course, neither would even consider that, but their insecurities, doubts and fears were always there.
They decided to do it the night before their whole pack would have their annual Christmas dinner. They’d show up with the rings on like a surprise, having not told the rest about their plan.
“Gonna be all wifed up now,” Dewdrop said, turning Rain’s ring over in his hand. He was smiling, but his eyes betrayed the anxiety.
“It's you who's the wife in this relationship,” the water ghoul scoffed and winked from where he was sitting on his desk, legs kicking.
“Oh no,” his mate protested, “you're way more wife coded.”
“Wife coded?” Rain snorted, raising his eyebrows. He paused the fidgeting of his hands as Dewdrop came closer, stepping in between the other’s legs. “Where did you even get that from?”
“Twitter. And they agree over there.”
“With what?”
“You being wife coded.” He wrapped his arms around Rain’s waist loosely, looking up at him. “A bunch of people also want to get you pregnant.”
“WHAT!?” the water ghoul giggled, and if Dewdrop could tattoo the image of him laughing and smiling from up close on his brain, he would.
“Yeah.” Dewdrop shrugged. “Well, if anything you'd be the one getting me pregnant but let them have their fun, right?”
“Dew!? Oh god,” he brought a hand up to cover his eyes and shook his head. Dewdrop continued to giggle quietly, his shoulders shaking. “Wait, hold up, though. If I'm the wife then you're what, the husband? No, if I'm a wife you are, too.”
“Great, and now we're lesbians,” the fire ghoul deadpanned, but bursted into a full body laugh after not more than three seconds. Rain followed a heartbeat after and they ended up laughing like maniacs, Dewdrop falling forward with his head against his mate’s chest.
After a while they managed to calm down. The laugh made the earlier tension dissipate, and both ghouls silently thanked the other for being so… silly. They were just silly.
“Anyway,” Dewdrop was the one to break the silence. “Do we… do this?”
“Yeah,” Rain sighed. “Yeah, we do.”
The water ghoul picked up Dewdrop’s ring again, from where it was laying next to him on the desk. He looked it over, examining, one more time and lifted his hand, eyebrows furrowing in an unspoken question. His mate nodded with a reassuring smile painted on his face, and Rain—his hands were absolutely not shaking—dropped the ring over Dewdrop’s left horn. It slid down to around the half of its length and Rain smoothed a thumb over it, pressing down on it just a bit to make it settle securely.
“Pretty,” he mumbled.
Dewdrop lifted his own hand to touch it, grinning when his fingers met Rain’s. “Your turn, wifey.”
Rain couldn’t hide the deep blush that creeped up his cheeks at the word. Maybe he did like that. Just a bit.
The fire ghoul winked, noticing that, but his own face wasn’t any better—he was equally flushed. Dewdrop took the other ring and reached up to slide it down Rain’s horn, mirroring his mate’s earlier action of thumbing over it and nestling it down.
“Okay, uhm…” he cleared his throat, “you should at least check in the mirror if you like it before I make it… well, permanent.”
Rain chuckled, more than sure, but he knew him looking it over first would reassure his mate. Pressing a quick kiss to Dewdrop’s forehead, he hopped off the desk and padded over to the mirror on his wardrobe. The fire ghoul joined him, and both their smiles grew impossibly wider at the visual.
“They’re perfect,” Rain whispered, eyes shining with tears and affection for his little mate.
Silence fell for a few short moments, but then Dewdrop grunted, “Ugh.”
“What?”
“I just got an extremely sappy thought,” he giggled, making Rain scoff, but laugh too.
“You’re impossible.” He smacked his arm playfully.
“Oh, well. Do you wanna…” Dewdrop waved a hand over his horns, “you know? Before I chicken out.”
“No way I just heard you imply you might chicken out,” the water ghoul grabbed his heart dramatically. His mate just rolled his eyes. “The almighty Dewdrop?”
“Oh, shut up already,” he spat, but didn’t have time for further light-hearted insults when Rain suddenly dropped to his knees before him, making Dewdrop gasp.
“Do it, baby.” He took his hand and pressed his cold lips to it, before guiding it to his ringed horn. Dewdrop swallowed heavily, calling upon his infernal power.
The rings were made of silver, but the inside was lined with metal of a lower melting temperature. That way, when Dewdrop would heat it up, it’d melt just enough to fill the cracks in the ghoul horns’ rough texture and make it hold.
“Are you–” he wanted to ask for clarification one more time, but Rain didn’t let him.
“I love you, Dewdrop,” he told him, for the millionth time. Taking a deep breath, the fire ghoul closed his fist around his horn and just did it. Just like that, a few seconds and it was done.
“I love you, Rainy,” he mumbled, pulling his hand away to repeat the process on his own ring. “Merry Christmas.”
Before Rain even stood up, Dewdrop’s part was done, too.
“Merry Christmas,” the water ghoul laughed, dragging his mate into a deep kiss. “What about we make it a real wedding night now, Droplet?”
“Take me to bed then,” he purred. “Wifey.”

top 5 etho ships ? bonus points for any explanation
my personal top five in no particular order, and like, ya gotta understand im still new here (hermitcraft/life series) so my opinions are poised to change, but the current standings are:
Bdubs/Etho/Cleo, i'll be honest, i haven't written or read any clethubs, but i saw some art of them that made my brain shortcircuit. they are femdom, himbo, and twink. i just think that Etho should have two people who are stronger than he is on either side of him at all times, bonus points if you let Cleo be the tallest. Bdubs being super clingy, Etho reluctantly tagging along, and Cleo making sure they don't fucking die because yeah they are god damn idiots sometimes, but they're her idiots. and she loves them. and probably gives them noogies and headlocks them.
Cleo/Etho, their marriage in limlife is so much fucking fun, especially when read under an aro4allo lens. Etho whose been happily married for over a decade watching his friends enter relationships and realizing that he loves differently, he doesn't even love remotely close to how they love, love isn't even the right word. hes scared so he leaves, hes not doing it right and his wife must be upset about it, that must be why everythings crumbling. and Cleo, not giving two shits, because that's her husband and by god they're gonna make it work if he can realize that being absent is whats breaking up their marriage, not showing affection and intimacy differently.
Gem/Etho, as a canadian i am legally obligated to ship this, as a lesbian i love it when men have chaotic gremlin girlfriends who put them in their place. see that one episode of hermicraft wherein Gem beats his ass on repeat and he keeps coming back for more. its like, like theres an unspoken solidarity, 'hey we're the same even though we're not' and they stick with each other. predator/prey dynamic if you go with deer Gem and fox Etho, you also get it with sea monster Gem and fox Etho, except he's the prey and she has the biological advantage instead. also, when paired with the transfemme Etho headcanon we get some yuri which im always down for.
Grian/Etho, this one came to via an Ao3 commenter and i have seen two pieces of fanart for it and like, seven fics. but i still think the dynamic of bird and fox would be fun to work with in writing depending on the bird Grian is hybridized with, especially if Grian is the smaller one. also in limlife??? hello?? Etho, swearing loyalty and promising to be someones sword is not heterosexual behaviour. what they had in limlife, even if brief, had me shaking i'll be real. also, for their hermitcraft dynamic, it'd be hot if i threw Scar into the mix, for flavour.
Pearl/Etho/Tango, consensual workplace relationships make me absolutely insane, it could tear apart their business or bring it further together. they have the kind of dynamic that makes my head absolutely fucking empty, one of those 'i just think theyre neat' kind of ships. the culture clash between each of their species and their own personal tastes, Tango's a blaze and they mate for life, Pearl's a siren and they don't do much for romance, Etho's a fox and they come and go- but they make it happen in spite of that. im working on getting them a canonized Ao3 tag right now, they have such a fun dynamic. also, they fucked in that post office when no one was looking.
tbh these are all really closely tied, and i also have a soft spot for tangtho and the team ties poly. they're all really fun ships, i just really enjoy polyships to be real with ya'll. and the life series and hermitcraft are full of so many possible polyships that its just making me foam at the fucking mouth. sorry boat boys enjoyers, the vision has not yet engulfed me, but hey im a multishipper it might be yet to happen.
#asks#the bestie anon#ethoslab#i just love putting this sopping wet pathetic excuse of a man in relationships. it makes me grin.#mcyt#heres hoping this sparks the poly postal vision in someone elses head

Let's talk Fictosexuality and Science for a sec
I previously pisted this on Hoyolab, several weeks ago, but I felt like tumblr needed to hear it too after looking through the #animesexual tag and seing so much uneducated hate.
First of all, Fictosexuality is the attraction to Exclusively **OR** almost exclusively fictional character, and it has many subbranches, that even I myself don't know all of them, and it falls under the umbrealla terms of Asexuality and Aromantism.
My original post from Hoyolab, corrected as best I could:
Fun science fact: a study proved that your brain cannot, in fact, tell apart the feelings you feel for a fictional character, to those you would feel a real human, Other studies have proved that it could be easier to get attached to a character rather than a real human as it is easier to get to know them and know them deeper than you would a real person, (the way they think, their full day to day routine, etc.) Therefore, yes. Scientifically speaking, you could, in fact, 100% fall in love with a fictional character, and it's not being delusional, that's just your brain and emotions working the normal way they should be!
Some of the replies I felt should be brought up:
Reply: I think some of the problem here is that, in English, we only have one word for love & a lot of native English speakers don't understand our single word is actually a spectrum of every type of love that exists; and that a person can feel some types of love without having another person reciprocate those feelings. Combine that lack of understanding with the need to be the winner of any disagreement, and you get people like the ones in this comment section who are saying you're wrong without giving any explanation for their opinion.
>
Me: Yeah, I can 100% see that. I also feel like theres this wrong mentality that a lot of people have been tought that "you HAVE to find THE one and only for you! You MUST find your ONE TRUE LOVE!" When love is totally just a spectrum and that is different for everyone. Semi-unrelated but I also feel thats where the argument that AroAce folks aren't real started from. Because people are just so convinced that everyone just has a one true love and that they'll get their one true love with no work// doing the bare minimum.
There was more replies I wanted to bring up, but filtering through over 600 comments is very hard, espetially when the hoyolab app lags, sorry.
I have so much more I wanna say on the topic because it is a topic that fascinates me, espetially as someone who identifies with Animesexuality and has found great comfort and peace in this lable.
Also, there are some people who would make the counter arguments "Fictional characters aren't a gender"
No, they are not, but you can be Gay/sapphic/lesbian/bi/pan/omni/etc. + Fictosexual.
It's as if saying you can't be aromantic but be attracted to [gender] sexualy. (Or the other way around)
People don't need to limit themselves to one and only one lable, you can be Gay Aromantic, Bi Asexual, for examples and so many more.
Another argument often made is "you can't be attracted to an innanimate object"
... they're not an object, an object needs a physical form to be, first of all.
Second, a character is a representation of a fictive **PERSON** not a fictive Object, they are real humans//creatures, they just don't have a "real physical form".
There's also the "They're not real".
They aren't real human beings that you can touch physically, they are "real". they are created characters that can be percieved, they just don't have a real, touchable physical form, but saying something isn't "real" because it's not an existing person / object on this earth is like saying Air or Gravity doesn't exist because you can't see it with your eyes. They can't be seen but they can be percieved and they are proven to exist. Plus, "they aren't real" they have been created, yes they are. Again, just not under a physical form, do you look at someone painting a landscape and say "it's not real." Because it's painted??? It can be percieved by the human mind therefore it is real in a form or another.
TL;DR: Fictosexuality is a real, science supported even (in a way), sexuality.

DN ask game: 11 (lawlightmane), 24 and 25, please!
thank you for the ask!!
11. what do you think about (lawlightmane)?
I love them!!!
in terms of comedy, their yotsuba arc shenanigans were some of my favourite moments in the show. like I know how much this phrase gets said but seriously. world's worst toxic polycule. I always love horrible polycules in fiction, they're great fun (see gramarye ot3 and matt-juan-celeste-adrian from ace attorney; I ship the first one, and the second one is just so intriguing in terms of how fucked up it was. dysfunctionality, obsessive hatred & rivalry, murders, suicide, accidentally-implied grooming, dependency, untreated dpd [this one is like strongly implied in canon] and probably also bpd, npd and who knows what else mixing together in the worst way possible, the mysterious relationship between a codependent lesbian [strongly implied] working for years - in the role of his manager - with the womanizing bisexual male actor she fucking hates, the guy just having spy cameras installed all over his male rival's home for some fucking reason......... oh wait) but also! in this case they are like... surreal in such a nice way because of the contrast??? like it's so incredibly toxic and yet here they are. having the most godawful first date (canonically addressed as a date) in the animated sitcom that is called Death Note Yotsuba arc. love to see it. okay how do I explain the appeal here? uhh basically it's kinda like. gap moe.
now comedy aside (but also sorta combined with the comedic aspects; mainly I mean "moving onto it as a serious thing"). MAN. lawlightmane is just fucking insanely good in general. like it's like. it's many things, it is EXTREMELY compelling and an incredibly intriguing dynamic that is full of potential for many things. iirc after I first watched DN and got obsessed with it badly, I made a tierlist and on the topmost tier I put lawlight and lawlightmane (lawlightmane wasn't even an item on the tiermaker I was using, so I just uploaded a screenshot to use myself). both because it was very funny as World's Worst PolyculeTM, and because it's genuinely great. and now my opinions on all of those characters and relationships are much more developed, I think I definitely appreciate it more seriously on a whole.
regarding each respective one-on-one relationship involved in lawlightmane...
well I am. obviously majorly incredibly into lawlight as a ship (beloved otp-tier ship, and maybe somewhat on that tier across fandoms too; I think it's my top favourite canonically-m/m ship rn [maybe tied with another 1-2, but not necessarily]). not sure I need to elaborate since I mean it's lawlight, it's really good
and then law/mane [censoring since this is... negative-ish? so I'm not putting it in the ship tag]. uh full disclosure I have no interest in law/mane if light isn't involved in the picture sorry. (at least rn I've never seen anything that's convinced me) I can see the appeal, and I can also see why some people don't like it, but for me it's really just... well it's just not much my thing lol unless it's a lawlightmane-related situation. OH also personally I can't see it as a romantic thing per se, like my brain just really doesn't compute at the idea of "L is in romantic love with Misa" or vice versa even in an AU. but as for any sexual aspect, it's just a plain "this isn't my thing" situation (as in I'm not interested but the idea doesn't make my brain automatically go "???? [error 404 does not compute]" as a romantic depiction may). their dynamic also doesn't grip me like yagamane (also non-romantic -ish ship for me) does, so yeah, overall I can't say I ship it outside of shipping lawlightmane! HOWEVER as a dynamic it's pretty neat within lawlightmane too.
EDIT (before posting the draft): I woke up today and was about to add "actually I think for a ship such as law/mane, what would probably at least slightly convince me of it has be something thematic probably, so if anyone has any ideas related to how they thematically complement each other or such feel free to send them my way, I like that sort of stuff" but then as I was brushing my teeth my brain filled in the gaps vaguely myself. it's something related to gluttony/hunger/appetite etc. and uh... okay I can see it now ngl lmao. that being said even in that vein I still just like them in lawlightmane for the time being, what changed was that I now have a better feel of their dynamic within lawlightmane if that makes sesne.
moving onto yagamane. man I LOVE yagamane and their whole... *gesture vaguely*. I personally definitely don't see it as a... idk, relationship formed of mutual genuine romantic and/or sexual attraction, but like, it very much doesn't have to be. it's super appealing in the way it's sooooo fucked-up in all sorts of ways, including thematically, mutually, and it's incredibly compelling to chew on. I also love both of them as individual characters (extremely obsessed with light but also really love misa and find her fascinating to think about) so that helps.
anyway lawlightmane really is very good, imo. I love it, thanks for asking anon
24. any headcanons you want to share?
let's see, what have I not mentioned much here yet?
Matsuda has indeed sort of had a crush on Light
Soichiro considers himself a straight man but is not one
The Shinigamis technically can have sex despite what the author tells us, but they are largely asexual or at the very least on the ace spectrum
Kiyomi doesn't canonically present butch but she should be. in an AU where she lives to the future
Misa doesn't die after she attempts suicide near the end in the anime canon
Light should take to gambling, c'mon you know he has JUST the right personality for that shit, go for it Light, develop a gambling addiction instead of a serial killing one! you can do it!!
nsft-related:
weirdly to me Mello is mostly a dom except for when it's with Near. though I haven't thought about this extensively so my opinion can change
I'm not a 100% strict lawlight top/bottom purist per se but I'm sorry I completely can't digest a relationship where Light is exclusively or mostly a dom and a top while L is exclusively or mostly a sub and a bottom. I respect your (general "you"; as in whoever is reading this, not the anon) opinion if you do, and it's fair, but I just can't see it, it doesn't work for me. the dom part is more important than the top/bottom part for me also.
on that note my opinion is that Light TECHNICALLY can dom, especially in relationships with people other than L, but. he's actually just... not into it. he thinks that he is, but it will just turn out he isn't. he'll get the instant powertrip high over it for a very short period of time at first, and then he just. loses it, the high fades quickly and he gets bored as fuck. and he isn't into it at all and finds that he wants to be the sub to some other person actually. which in itself is something he'll find extremely humiliating but that's good too
anyway it's nearly a fandom consensus at this point that Light has a praise kink I think lmao. that I do agree with. I will propose that we also assign praise kink to Matsuda and Soichiro; it's already been done (well, one by someone else and the other by yours truly) and I think it makes sense tbh.
... actually on that note. my personal hot take is that we as a fandom should very much consider applying the "like father like son" principle to nsft involving Soichiro Yagami, in connection to Light Yagami (<- you must understand that I have a lot of those takes because the first DN fic and currently my only DN fic I've published off-anon is in fact a soichello fic. it is only natural)
also yes I think Kiyomi should be a dom and has S tendencies
Misa definitely gives sub energy. though I wonder if she can also dom
25. ramble on about whatever you’d like to
lately I've wondered briefly if MikaMatt (as a romantic? ship and/or as a platonic ship) would be good solely because I put them in the roles of Iino and Ishigami respectively in the Kaguya-sama AU (Iino and Ishigami are canonically subtextual love interests to each other, and they're a fun duo even though I don't particularly ship them romantically). however I still do not understand Matt much sadly so this might be as far as it goes [-> note: if any Matt fans see this and want to fill me in, feel free!! I'm always interested in hearing more]
speaking of Mikami. I def like mika / light casually but I often wonder how come I don't actively like it more considering my OTP in mgrc has the whole... god thing, as a major major major draw for me (see: my current blog header title is a reference to that ship). that being said I do get it because mika / light is different from hime / san in various ways outside of it so it tracks
Light should become friends with Chika Fujiwara (he'll hate her but hey. it's fine) and get into board games and card games, it will save him (maybe slightly. sort of. it will help a little at least.)
okay anon so. I'm going to take a wild guess here and assume that you're at least to some degree familiar with the J-drama adaptation (maybe you've watched some of it?), but if not you can still read this part I suppose.
it's so funny that every other adaptation of DN just gets progressively gayer and gayer because dude literally what the fuck was going on with j-drama lawlight lmfao
the fucking shower scene (and everything about it), the ??? scene where L hooks Light to a polygraph??? (no like what the fuck was that really. it's not as infamous as the shower scene, but the blatantly textual sadomasochism is extremely in your face in that one), and the whole blue sceneTM, and then Light practically kissing L's cheek after L's death, and everything else
with that being said. hmmmmmmm. anyway moving on to my feelings about the j-drama in general:
I liked it overall! some stuff in it are very nice. and I like the characters too, but definitely not as much as the canon counterparts.
importantly I absolutely have to see the drama and each character and each relationship in the drama as like, a whole separate thing from the animanga canon, because if I viewed it as an adaptation they would come off as awful whereas as its own thing it is nice.
I like j-drama Light a lot! ...but not even nearly as much as animanga Light, sorry. I have to see him as a whole separate character 100% (that way he's funny and cute-ish, and I can appreciate him), otherwise I can't enjoy him at all because I'll just be thinking "where's my beloved amazing perfect Bad NPD RepTM :( they nerfed him and now he's not relatable anymore" the whole fucking time <- wow this is very normal and doesn't say anything about me at all. dw about it
and on that note. ngl I have to complain a bit. so I've seen more than one person say that j-drama is so much more ""human"" than canon Light, and I mean, that's a fair opinion!! I get what you mean and I totally get where you're coming from. that being said... I'm sorry I don't agree and I'm not sure I like what that implies either. I know that compared to animanga Light, j-drama Light possesses various traits that are societally more associated with "humanity" but y'know what idk. I don't think that's true. to me animanga Light Yagami is extremely human. I think it is an incredibly human wish to desire to become a god, also
personally I don't think j-drama Light is a better person, if he commits the same atrocities as animanga Light and just simply feels worse/feels more empathy/feels more guilt or whatever about it. I strongly believe that your actual morality is determined not by what you feel but by what you do, like, someone who keeps doing bad things while feeling the societally expected level of bad for it is hardly a better person than someone who does the same things, no more, while being unable to feel as much [insert expected feelings] over it (but still doesn't do more bad things than the previous person).
anyway back to the j-drama. basically I like it, and I def have many fond feelings over it personally, but the watching experience wasn't as good as anime DN for me, and there is more stuff that I dislike. and also I can't compare it to animanga DN too much because as an adaptation per se it doesn't work at all imo (but as its own thing? it's fine and I like some stuff in it quite a lot).
anyway I think that's all on my mind for now!! thank you for the great questions, I had fun writing this

No but actually on the topic about the fuchsia phone case joke. I sometimes find it so hard to reconcile the images and videos of them then, with a)the two idiots we know now, but also just the two people we now understand them to have been at the time.
I see dan making a slightly off colour joke about phils phone case looking gay, and then i think the scared closeted 20yr old, trying to desperately figure himself out, and qhen i try to match them up, in some ways it makes so much more sense and in others it feels like my brain is short-circuiting.
I guess I just always wonder what those jokes and comments actually meant to them at the time. When I first started watching them, way back in 2015, I always understood the jokes they made as being in the same context as when my straight peers/friends made them. Misinformed but not malicious. As coming from the perspective of a straight person who didnt really think about what they were saying. But now obviously we have context, and now im a full raging lesbian myself, who similarly made gay jokes/comments when I was still in the closet, and I'm just starting to realise what mustve been going on in their heads. Like, im not saying the fuschia phone case comment was some desperate desire to be free and open or whatever, it was a joke and it wasnt a particularly deep one, but there is an added layer to it. Dnp laughed for more than just the fact that the 'fuchsia phone case looks gay'. They laughed bc they knew who they were, they were making fun of the whole 'having a purple phone case means your gay' concept in the first place, and they were just two closeted 20-somethings, existing in a world that wasnt ready for them yet. And yeah it was just a stupid joke, but thinking about it too much has made me a little emotional so here we are.
Hi!!! I totally understand this. It’s been wild going back and watching their content with the knowledge we have now. Like I, as most people did, presumed they were queer before they came out. But it’s absolutely a different experience thinking that and knowing that. While I was watching ditl it hit me that like. They were a closeted couple while filming that, and that’s not speculation, Dan confirmed that. And it kind of hit me in a way I can’t describe, but honestly part of it did make me sad. Just like, knowing what it must’ve been like for them. And I totally get what you’re saying about the gay joke. Like for them obviously part of it was like “oh haha making a gay joke when we’re gay!” But it’s also like… making a gay joke because you’re closeted and that’s as close as you can get to publicly being yourself. And even then, whatever the exact joke was, they cut out part of it. Which honestly was probably a good call lmao but, yeah. I agree that specific joke wouldn’t have been some like grand moment in their lives or that it’s that deep at the end of the day. But it’s just knowing that things/jokes like that were probably a regular occurrence and for a while that was like what they had yk? Making gay jokes and then cutting them out, because they didn’t want them to be misconstrued but maybe bc they hit a little too close to home
And now look at them. Joking about eating jizz on the gaming channel for all the world to see

Aside from ToBecky what would be your favorite Becky or Tobey ship respectively? As in hypothetically you didnt ship themn?
Thanks for the ask! But YOO, this is an interesting one (・o・)
I have thought about this before, mostly when I wasn't confident in shipping tobecky yet and seeing the different pairings back in like 2018 lmao. I think overall, before I went full tobecky brain rot, I was a Scoobey or Sciolecky (Scoops x Becky x Violet) person. The art at the time of those dynamics was so soft, and it was sweet. But unfortunately, tobecky quickly took over 💀
But in the current time, what would I ship? Or what dynamics would I prefer for the respective characters? (Tobey and Becky)
Tobey is the easiest because I think personally it's a semi tie between Scoops and Rose. And before anyone says anything about Rose and Tobey considering my hcs, I purely see it as one-sided!! I just have a laugh over the thought of Tobey liking another brunette with a sense of her own ego and pride.
Scoobey survived in my Tobey pairings. Idk I just think it has a lot of solid fanon ideas, plus I can see them being so messy and dysfunctional. My personal favorite type of Scoobey is them as a married couple in their thirties, Scoops being the cheerful, optimistic husband contrasting Tobey’s emo-ness and antisocial tendencies. The odd couple in the neighborhood.
For Becky? That's a difficult one. Ppl would assume vibecky considering my other preferences in ships of liking friends to lovers better, and of course, the number of lesbians in future AU lol. But unfortunately, I love the gray aro Violet headcanon too much that Violet ships I don't pay much attention to unless their just platonic, and its for fun.
Another ppl would think is Bectoria because of my fanfiction and how I always have in my headcanons of Victoria secretly crushing on Becky, but i explained in another Becky ships Ask that while I like Bectoria and see it's potential. It's always gonna be the other Victoria ship for me personally. I also kinda make a point in my fic on why there would be a downside to it, but other than that, it's a good ship, but not one I actively think about.
I know that Rose x Becky also became a newer ship, and that one is also very cute. And I defended Scoobecky last Ask, so yall know my thoughts about them. Hmm... I guess out of these options, I would honestly go for either RosexBecky or Scoobecky. And i still have some love for the Scoops/Violet/Becky ship. I know that's a very flimsy response, but it's the most honest if i had to pick other Becky ships to be my favorites.
(This is just me getting other questions about this outta the way)
Bonus: (What about Victoria x Tobey? or Tobey x Violet?) They thematically both are very interesting, BUT...this is just a PERSONAL pet peeve of mine that they just look too blonde next to each other...that makes sense, right? Like, idk I get blinded by the yellow and end up lost.
Extra Bonus: (What about Becky with other school characters?) (Hunter, Emma, Eugene, Chazz, etc...) That's all fun to think about, but unfortunately, the other woodview kids don't have much character to go on for me to care (plus who would ever separate Emma and Eugene!) That also applies to the game show trio, Emily, Tommy, Phil. They definitely have more personality than other students, but besides Tommy, I don't see Becky having much chemistry with them. And everyone knows her true pairing is with a random girl in the pink sweater she saved that one time/j
Extra Extra Bonus: (Eileen?) Ohh yeah, I forgot! Um..not really for either of them. I get the feeling that while neither Becky nor Tobey hate Eileen, I don't think they like her either. She's just too much for either of them. I do think Eileen probably could have a small crush on Becky, but beyond that, I don't think about shipping Eileen with anyone, not everyone has to be shipped.
#wordgirl#tobecky#becky botsford#Jam asks#dont question why this one is so long plss#vibecky is canonically the best endgame for Becky. she knows that. but Jam had other ideas. oops guess she's stuck with her 4th worst choic#/JJJJJJJ
