Elves of Beleriand, ranked by how quickly you’d recognise them if you came across them in the woods:

Maedhros. Tall, remarkably good-looking, unusual red hair, The White Fire In His Eyes, and he’s missing a hand. Pretty sure there is literally nobody else in Beleriand fitting that description.

Thingol. The Tallest Ever. Also the only Sinda with the light of the Trees in his eyes.

Lúthien. The Most Beautiful Ever, but also good at making magic cloaks that hide her from unwelcome eyes, so it depends on whether she wants you to recognise her or not.

Galadriel. Very tall and unusually beautiful, with remarkable golden hair.

Dior. Exceptionally beautiful, and the only Peredhel around for most of his lifetime.

Turgon. Also one of the Tallest Ever. But he should be in Gondolin so you probably wouldn’t expect to come across him in the woods.

Amrod and Amras, together – they have unusual red hair and are almost identical, so you’d definitely recognise them if you saw them together. If they’re apart or Amrod is crispy, potentially less likely.

Gwindor post-escape from Angband. Aged in the manner of mortal men and missing a hand, so you might recognise him if you knew about that. When he shows up at Nargothrond with Túrin, he’s so changed that nobody does recognise him, so doesn’t have any other distinguishing features. Counterpoint: maybe the aging thing happened to a lot of escaped thralls.

Aegnor. One of the few blond Noldor, with unusual spiky hair.

Celegorm. Has a big magic dog. On the other hand, when Lúthien canonically comes across him in the woods, she doesn’t recognise him until he introduces himself.

Fingon. On the one hand, he notably braids his hair with gold. On the other hand, maybe he was such a popular, trendsetting hero that a large proportion of the Noldorin population of Hithlum did the same. Also he can presumably take the gold out of his hair if he doesn’t want you to recognise him.

I’m also going to *attempt* to explain the AUs in case you don’t remember/don’t know what they are (if I mess one of them up it’s cause I don’t know that AU very well 😅)

Timestuck - Mabel gets stuck in the past with mullet Stan (variations can include Dipper also getting stuck in the past, or one or both getting stuck with Ford, basically any AU where the twins meet/get stuck with younger versions of one or both of their grunkles)

Drifting Stars: Mabel gets sucked into the portal at the end of “Not What He Seems” and goes dimension hopping with Ford (meanwhile Dipper and Stan are having a horrible time)

Reverse Falls: The twins and other characters swap personalities, where Mabel is more introverted and Dipper is more extroverted and same with the Stans…I think? (there is also an AU where I think maybe Gideon and Pacifia are good and Mabel and Dipper are bad but I genuinely can’t remember what it’s called, I’m sorry if this is what that AU is called but I don’t *think* it is?)

Relativity Falls: The twins roles are swapped, so Mabel and Dipper are older and Stan and Ford are the kids, visiting “Grantie” Mabel while Dipper is in the multiverse

Monster Falls: The characters are monsters instead of humans. I genuinely don’t know much about this AU but lots of people make the characters different monsters so there are probably a bunch of variations

Reverse Portal: Where Stan gets pulled into the portal instead of Ford. I know there are other AUs probably more popular than this one, but like I said I’m not the best as remembering AUs 😂

How did Cosmos and Soundwave get together? Were they pining for centuries or were they open about feelings? How did other mechs react to them being together?

OUHH I HAVE SO MANY IDEAS FOR THIS ONE I STRUGGLE TO MAKE A DECISION,, I was actually talking with a mootie (FORGIVE ME MOOTIE I FORGOT TO REPLY IM SO SORRY) about this and I still couldn’t make up my mind on how I think they’d get together.

There’s definitely pining. Cosmos is the first one to realize his feelings and he tries really hard to deny them at first. He’s not had a good history with relationships and he fully believes that Soundwave is WAYY out of his league (unfortunately, he’s not very subtle with his feelings, and the cassettes find out nearly right away and tease him so badly about it).

Soundwave doesn’t develop feelings right away; it starts off as a fascination with Cosmos. Cosmos is insecure yet bold, he’s funny and a little airheaded but incredibly capable and has a quick wit. Soundwave eventually gets comfortable and content with Cosmos, and it kind of all hits him at once. Soundwave suddenly realizes how safe and warm and happy he feels with the autobot, and his plating suddenly feels hot and his spark feels like it might burst out of his chest. He quickly pushes the feeling down and goes on about his day.

They pine for eachother in such an obvious and embarrassing way that everyone around them is so sick of it and so confused as to why they can’t see how obsessed they are with one another. I like to think that Cosmos gets bold eventually, he’s comfortable with Soundwave and the cassettes teasing sort of puts a fire under him to start subtly, almost jokingly, trying to court Soundwave. Of course the mech doesn’t realize it at first—his recordicons had to sit him down one day and spell it out for him, that when Cosmos offers to bake his favorite treats and watch some earth documentaries with him it’s not a completely platonic gesture.

As Soundwave becomes more receptive to Cosmos’ courting gestures (and eventually subtly returns them) Cosmos gets more bold and sappy with his flirting. He learns that Soundwave likes directness. He learns that Soundwave gets flattered easily by cute ufos. Once they start actually ‘dating’, he also learns that he needs approval from all five of Soundwave’s recordicons to even think about conjunxing the mech. And he decides it’s all worth it for Soundwave.

Anyways this is so all over the place I’m so sorry 😭 I like to think that getting together was very long and drawn out because both of them are pretty hesitant and kinda don’t really know what they’re doing, but by god Cosmos has more cheesy pickup lines than he knows what to do with so he’s gonna use them.

i’m cooking up a Fucked Up and Obsessed stan au bc we need more of that (it’s also arguably an offshoot of taxidermy ford WJAJSJSK)

stan has worked tirelessly, thanklessly, for 30 years to bring his brother back. over the years, he grows more and more obsessed with ford. it’s kind of hard not to — you need that motivation to keep going somehow. every time he finds something ford used to own, he hides it away into his basement. every time he learns something about ford’s history that he didn’t know, he memorizes it like he’s, for once in his life, studying a test. they may have been estranged for a decade, and he might not know what’s going on on the other side of the portal, but he’ll make up for it the best he can. he has to learn everything. he HAS to. maybe he even picks up his brother’s interest in journaling — only, instead, his research isn’t on the paranormal, but specifically ford.

stan is willing to sacrifice anything for ford. he is willing to sacrifice EVERYTHING. his love of ford isn’t just familial, it’s not even just romantic — it’s borderline cultish. at first, he felt guilt taking his brother’s name, but now it makes him feel closer, like he and ford have somehow become one.

and then. finally. ford comes back.

and ford is pissed.

like in canon, stan does fight back and bicker with ford. and, like in canon, stan doesn’t actually hate ford. he never has. he doesn’t want to fight, but ford isn’t giving him a choice.

the worst part is that ford’s taken the basement.

because the basement is where stan put a lot of his… ford research.

everything that wasn’t in the basement was in a secret room directly connected to it.

it starts off with smaller things — a few of ford’s old personal belongings here and there. he mostly just brushes it off, ignores the pang in his heart when he thinks about how stan kept these souvenirs for a reason.

but then, it piles up. stan keeping ford’s spare pair of glasses was bittersweet — stan hoarding ford’s old garbage 3 decades after the fact was concerning. it got even MORE concerning when ford found out that THERE’S AN ENTIRE ROOM OF FORD STUFF.

there are photographs of ford covering the walls. pretty much every legal/medical/academic record of ford was there, and they sure weren’t there for identity theft.

but that’s not what ford notices.

the first thing ford notices are the human taxidermies. that all look like him.

every ford taxidermy is well-kept, dressed in ford’s old clothes. ford isn’t too surprised stan kept his clothes — what he IS surprised by is how taken care of they are. they’ve all clearly been washed recently. ironed, too.

and his taxidermies were wearing them like mannequins.

some of the taxidermies look like ford in his 30s, minus the dishevelement brought on by paranoia and sleep deprivation. some look like him as a teen. some look… awfully similar to himself now. the elderly taxidermies are a bit off, and each have some different design choices, so ford realizes that these were made before his return.

doesn’t help the fact that stan is MAKING FUCKING TAXIDERMIES OF HIM.

stan finds out ford’s in the room and freaks the fuck out. he’s still working on his plan on how to deal with ford’s… behavior, and this REALLY throws a wrench in it.

ford acts a bit more… nervous around stan in the next few days.

that just makes stan even more upset.
