Listen. I think. I think it would work. I think we could've still won. The physics probably would've been a pain, but if I think about it as an echo of the red iin his costuming in the play at the start, and link it back to how the plot of the play comes to represent part of his life, it would [unintelligible]

But no for real, the sliver you can see of the snakeskin on Jo and the fact it's the lightest thing you can see on his whole outfit feels purposeful. It's still incredibly funny to me that whole thing was treated as a twist at all. But.

And the progression on account of the timeskip is sick too from a symbolic perspective. It's things like the 2019 tie having the exact same pattern as in 2000, but it's also now the only real color in his entire ensemble, the purple from his shirt relegated to the tie and the pink completely gone. Hanging on to the past (although I guess this is more RGGJo's thing), forcing his "self" into a smaller and smaller space, that kind of thing. If we go with Sololiquy for a moment, maybe there's also something there about things being livelier when Ichi was around, for better or worse.

All the leather is ostensibly much more luxurious, befitting of his rise in status, but it's also burying him further in these additional layers of security. The gloves DO pull it together, and they also leave him basically completely covered-up from head to toe, which I can't help find fascinating.

So, you know, he looks sick with the gloves on, but there's also a different Flavor when recognizing he had them on the first battle when he was hiding so much from Ichi, but in the second battle, where he hopes to come clean, he's bare-handed ("Ichi-vision" notwithstanding).

And I think it's also worth recognizing that the gloves would've offered some protection when he went to grab the blade, but he grabs it anyway in his bare hand. With the amount of force you apply when you swing a blade and it actually connects, that'd hurt him just as bad, but it shows he's past the point of caring about what happens to him even before he says so. (I still think we should've probably seen his hand cut and bleeding when out of Ichi-vision, but y'know.)

The evolution of Jo's outfit in conjunction with the surrounding environment and circumstances really is mad interesting, and as someone who really enjoys 'storytelling' (idk if that's the exact word rn but i aint ever been good with words in the first place) through character design/wardrobe. Any note I coulda said you've already said for me, yet I still wish I had some more words to express how much I love the changes in his outfit and how it reflects himself and the story at that particular point 😷

LILIA VANROUGE . . . as a fruit bat

- ah yes your cheeky and "friendly" bat who loves to scare you on purpose by either appearing hanging upside down on the most random times to startle you. I mean you can't really blame him can you? It's fun plus seeing your reaction makes it even merrier for him! But he can be a serious bat sometimes, which is shocking to say atleast. He once poured a whole bag of salt inside the soup you were cooking,tarnishing the taste completely. You swear he was grinning when he saw you taste the soup and scrunch up your face in disgust. To him it was the best soup ever! He is the best cook ever known to batkind! Or faekind.

TREY CLOVER . . . as a hamster

- your extremely helpful and laid back hamster who always is there for you whenever you need something, TREY is like jamil in way , always calm and reserved , he also has a strange fixation on making you take care of his dental hygiene at all times and always forces you to take care of yours too! he also always watches you bake and hands you ingredients he thinks the recipe needs to elevate it more , and it really does help.

RUGGIE BUCCHI . . . as a hyena (well no shit)

- your sneaky and clever hyena who is troublesome at times , not letting you eat in peace unless you give him some of your food to him to feast on. Even if you don't give it to him he will just ran up to you as fast as he can and steal it right from your hands ( lovingly ) , he loves getting spoiled with both affection and gifts given by you , happy noises leaving his mouth as you rub his head (in the middle of his ears) , which indicates he's happy ! I mean he's always happy with his owner. ( Well not when your not sharing your snacks with him, he has one sided beef with you now until you feed him something nice. )

JADE LEECH . . . as a moray eel ( who could have guessed ong )

- when you first adopted him alongside with Floyd , he put up a fake persona where he was just a kind and soft eel unlike Floyd who was causing chaos everywhere , and then later you started to find out that he's actually a pretty devious eel , just like his twin brother. whenever you held him he had a tight grip on you , if you tried to pull him out of your hold he would bite lightly , enough for some crimson drops of arterial blood to come out when all Floyd did was just squeeze your hand. But both of them could be helpful and smart at times surprisingly, scaring off any people they find suspicious or people you hate.

Stray Kids, Episode 8:  the audience is filled with camera men

Concert time in Shinchon!  We have our Stray Kids, a concert stage in the middle of the street, tons of fans, and some mystery guests posing as fans to evaluate and possibly eliminate.  There’s a LOT at stake here.  Let’s goooo!

The show is still calling this “busking.”  I think actual buskers would like a word.

Our boys are overwhelmed by the crowd size and trying to get their bearings.  They bow and make their very first introduction to the public.  The girls scream in response.  Bang Chan thanks everyone for coming out on such a cold night.  The girls scream in response.  Han asks if anyone has been watching their survival show on Mnet.  The girls scream in response.  Are the group’s mics even on? 

The group members then introduce themselves individually, and while they wait for their turns, Woojin and Bang Chan spot Jun K from 2pm in the crowd, along with Rado of the songwriting and production team Black Eyed Pilseung.  We have our first mystery guests!

Our next two are Noh Kyu Min and Yoon Joon Pil.  They’re celebrity reporters from TenAsia, a pop culture news website similar to Entertainment Weekly or PopMatters.

We’re not done.  As Changbin talks to the crowd, we see two more mystery guests arrive backstage.  It’s Yugyeom and BamBam from GOT7!  As they settle in to watch the show on a monitor, they’re joined by – oh my God I love this group – Sungjin and YoungK from Day6!

So much is happening at once.  Onstage, Seungmin announces their first song, “Hellevator.”  The crowd knows this one, since the music video has been out for a while.  This is a rough one for our boys, because they’ve had to change the song’s arrangement and choreo from nine members to eight.  (Seriously, when is Lee Know coming back?)

No time to dwell on it.  Time for “Hellevator.”  Let’s do this.

A few mistakes here and there.  Someone’s clip-on mic comes loose.  (They’re all moving so fast, I can’t see whose it is.)  Woojin’s voice misses a high note.  They’re clearly nervous, but overall, it’s a good performance.  They just need to shake off the pressure, clip that mic back on, and focus.

Changbin acknowledges to the crowd that they are now eight instead of nine.  “Today, I think about him more,” he says.  The crowd shouts encouragement.  I.N, who is an immediate crowd favorite, announces the next song.  It’s “School Life.”   He really is adorable.  Okay, showtime!

WAY better.  They’re more confident now, and Bang Chan interacts with the audience, provoking even more adoring screams.  They seem to be having fun now.  And based on the way even the mystery guests are gushing over him, I think I.N is safe from elimination.

The boys announce their final song, “YAYAYA.”  We haven’t heard this one yet, but it’s the one Felix was nervous about in the last episode.  We learn that they’ve all had a hard time writing and choreographing this new song in a week, along with the overall rehearsal.  They’re all stressed out, and Bang Chan tells us in a confessional that he’s most worried about Felix being eliminated.

We get a flashback to Felix practicing for hours by himself and constantly making mistakes.  He suddenly leans against the wall, slides down to the floor, and bursts into tears.

I need a minute.

JYP, if you eliminate that Aussie boy, I will (looking up Australian slang) get aggro on your ass and bung on a blue.  I don’t know exactly what that entails, but I mean every bloomin’ word, mate.

Flashback over.  Showtime.  Come on, Felix…

I love the song.  I love the wild energy of the choreo.  It’s going incredibly well, and then …

It’s hard to get a clear screenshot, but Felix stumbles during a dance step and almost falls.  He recovers immediately and keeps going like nothing happened, but our celebrity guests definitely noticed.  The fans, of course, don’t care.  They may have been too obsessed with I.N to even notice.

The performance seems to keep going well, and now Felix gets a rap solo.  Let’s see him redeem himself.  This is the rap he’s been practicing over and over this past week.

Something’s off.  I can tell from the expression on Jun K’s face.  The subtitles won’t tell us what’s going on, but I think Felix may have been struggling with the lyrics.  The boys then finish the song by throwing confetti into the crowd and landing perfectly in their final formation. 

They did it.  The concert is a success.  Felix made some mistakes, but the others made mistakes during the first song.  I think he’ll be okay.  Honestly, based on the crowd reaction, I don’t see anyone getting eliminated today.

Seungmin thanks the crowd and mentions again that they miss Lee Know.  At first, I’m wondering why the group keeps bringing him up, but then I remember the audience has been watching the show.  They know he’s been eliminated.  The group has to address it.  He’s the elephant on the stage.

The group bows, says goodbye, and leaves the stage.  The exhilaration gives way to anxiety as they remember they’re about to be evaluated by a lot of famous people.  They go backstage and find our GOT7 and Day6 guests.  They didn’t even know these idols were watching.

GOT7 and Day6 talk with our boys about what it was like back when they were busking.  Fun Fact:  The English word “busking” is the same word they use in Korean.  Second Fun Fact:  WHAT THEY DID WAS NOT BUSKING.  Good grief …

We now cut to the day after the concert, and I’m really getting nervous now.  JYP has met with Jun K and Rado to review footage of the concert and has told them to judge “coldly.”  I stress-eat a box of Triscuits.  Now the boys are lined up waiting for their evaluation.  For some reason, the room is dark.  It looks like they’re about to be executed.  Then JYP comes in and sits at a table in front of them.  Here we go.

Turns out the concert did not go as well as the fans and I thought it did.  JYP tells them he is looking for improvement and growth potential, and he’s worried that some members will take too long to improve.  He says he has to eliminate someone who has been the biggest weakness to the team.

I can’t breathe.

He tells Bang Chan he has to improve in everything.  His vocals aren’t stable.  He tells Woojin that both his vocals and dancing need work.  And Hyunjin still has trouble enunciating when he raps. 

JYP is more direct when he gets to Felix.  He looks Felix right in the eye and says, “You made a mistake in the end.  Why did you do that?”

Felix stays quiet.  JYP keeps going.  “A bigger problem is that when you rap, it doesn’t reach out to me at all, Felix, because you lack in Korean language.”  His voice is scolding now.  I’m dreading whatever’s about to happen.

JYP takes a long pause. Then he sighs deeply and says that the potential eliminations are Hyunjin, Woojin, and Felix.  Of course he’s not going to eliminate Bang Chan.  This group needs their leader.

Another long pause. 

He tells Woojin he’ll give him another chance to improve.  Now it’s down to Hyunjin and Felix.

Again, he tells Felix he’s not good in Korean.  He needs to become fluent, which will take time.  But he needs more time than the company has to give him. 

So, Felix is eliminated.

Felix doesn’t seem to register the news at first.  He just nods his head.  But his fellow Aussie Bang Chan is blinking back tears.  Everyone else is staring at the floor.

JYP goes on to lecture the group about how big the competition is out there, but I’m just waiting for Felix to react.  He just isn’t moving.

JYP tells them this elimination will make the group better, which really has to sting.  I just want him to shut up at this point, but he tells the remaining seven members to knit themselves tightly together, and he hopes that there will be no more eliminations. 

He stands to leave and tells Felix, “You’ve worked hard.”  Felix bows and thanks him.  When JYP leaves, Felix drops his head and turns away from the rest of the group.  Now he cries.  His bandmates try to comfort him.

Felix sobs as he apologizes for letting them down, and this is just awful.  The worst part is that I understand the decision.  Not being fluent in Korean is a huge problem when you’re trying to be a K-pop idol.  Learning a language takes way longer than the two months Felix has been here.  If I were watching this show when it first aired, the decision would have broken my heart, but I would have understood.  It’s only through seeing what a huge star he is now, and how necessary he is to Stray Kids now, that I know it’s not the right decision.

Now we get a moment that I’m pretty sure must be iconic in the STAY fandom.  Bang Chan walks over to Felix.  In his Australian-accented English, he says, “Always find me, yeah?  I’m never going to leave you behind.”

I don’t know exactly what’s happening in Bang Chan’s mind right now, but he clearly hasn’t given up.

Felix hugs the rest of his bandmates, and I’m a mess.  I know he’s coming back at some point, but this is just AWFUL.  We then see him in a confessional. He just looks exhausted.

“My heart hurts a lot,” he tells us.  For someone whose Korean is supposed to be so terrible, he’s really expressing himself now.  “I don’t know what I should do now.”

Hyunjin tells us, “Felix is like a child.  He needs to be taken care of.  He has such a warm heart.”  Okay, this is officially killing me.  Please make it stop.

We get a montage of Felix’s time on the show, set to sad piano music, and I hate everything.

Now Bang Chan is crying in a confessional.  Through his sobs, he’s still speaking English.  “Even when you were really struggling, I should have been there.  I’m so sorry.”  That’s all he can get out.

We end with Felix looking into the camera and saying, “To all the Stray Kids members, I’m really thankful.  Thank you for helping me a lot.  Thank you so much.  I’m sorry I can’t be together with you guys.” 

With that, the episode ends.

Dammit, Bang Chan, I know you have something planned.  Whatever it is, get it done.  Get BOTH our boys back.

a lot of hand me downs

all made by families for each other so theres a range of styles

got their textiles from other layers

after the evil champion they werent able to get materials so learning how to sew and mend things became a big thing

most families only had a few sets of clothes

pro layer:

tailors!! the pro layer had tailors!!

where most of the materials came from

a good part of their parkour economy or whatever was selling the materials

economy in shambles

they had both work clothes and fancier clothes

fighter layer:

this is where most of the dyes came from!! they would get flowers and such from the noob layer and turn them into dyes!!

due to how warm the layer is its a lot of warm weather clothing (seawatt wasnt the only fucker to be dressed like that)

they either get their clothes from tailors or make it themselves!! sewing is taught in most schools

master layer:

this is the only layer with actual clothing stores!!

not a lot of people make their own clothes here

a lot of fancier styles!! gotta show off that status somehow!!

before EC there were also a lot of custom made performer outfits since i headcanon the masters to have been performers similar to like circus performers ykykyk

So these are some redone ocs Jack and X!!! I love them so much theyre from a old gacha series of mine and i decided to like completely redo the entire plot

Okay yap time

So the old series used to be a normal slice of life in a school environment but I decided to give them a plot so I aged them all up to 18 yrso. The new plot is that Jack and X are the most popular racers in their team "Vamp-Beatle Racers", and in every episode they compete against other rival teams (which involve some horrendous methods to win that lowkey dive into each characters arcs)

But X and Jack are the most popular in the group due to how skillful they are in racing. X's fanbase consists of primarily teen girls but also men who find her pure and innocent. Jack's fanbase is very primarily fangirls who find him attractive.

X's producers are more laid back and very nice with her (why she can get away easily with being in a very public lesbian relationship) although Jack's producers are very strict and lowk kinda mean. They try to make him as appealing to the fangirls as possible, thus he can't get into a relationship unless they say so.

X is a very empathetic person and can get very emotional, while Jack looks very opposite to how he looks. Many who see him at first find him serious and a little intimidating when he just likes to have fun and joke around with everyone. Although he can get a little competitive when it comes to racing.

Steve is still dazed from the alcohol and the blood loss when someone knocks in the door, no bangs on the door with fevor.

“ Steve what the fuck wrong with you open this damn door. You can’t just leave me like that”

Funny steve thinks, it took Bucky over an hour to notice that he was gone. Still he gets up.

His head spins a bit from the whiskey, but he gets up and stumbles to the door, opening it with a scowl on his face.

“What the hell do you want?”

He looks up to see Bucky standing in the doorway, looking upset and still drunk from his own excessive drinking. they stare at each other for a moment, the tension in the air thick and charged.

“what is wrong with you Steve you just up and left with out telling anybody! what is your problem you don’t just get to leave without telling me.”

Steve rolls his eyes, annoyance clear in his expression. he's not in the mood to deal with Bucky right now, not after everything that's happened.

“Oh, I don't know, maybe it's the fact that I'm sick of seeing you make out with some random girl you just met!”

Bucky looks at him with a bewildered expression, his alcohol-addled brain trying to process what Steve just said. he's clearly not expecting this to be why he's upset, though he quickly composes himself.

“What the hell are you talking about? So what if I was with a girl?”

Steve lets out a frustrated growl, his anger rising again.

“You're kidding me, right? You seriously have no idea why I'm pissed off?”

Bucky rolls his eyes, clearly getting irritated himself.

“No, I don't. What's your problem with me having fun with a girl?“.

Steve sucks in a sharp breath to keep him self from screaming.

“Come on buck, you leave me alone ever single time we go out you don’t seem to care that nobody-nobody not one fucking girl ever has wanted to dance with me, kiss me or anything. You don’t even have an actual personality you have no redeeming qualities it’s just cause your hot that you get dozens of dames screw you”

Steve doesn’t know where the last part came from but he’s too upset to care.

Bucky looks taken aback, his drunken mind trying to process the venom in Steve's voice.

“What the hell is your problem all of a sudden? This has never bothered you before, why is it suddenly such a big deal now?” Bucky mumbles over his words like it doesn’t matter.

“You dumbass, it bothers me every time and I try to tell you but you are too busy just making out with the dame of the hour to notice. Or even let me talk to you,-cause you have a tongue to far down your throat to pay attention” Steve says with venom in is throat.

Bucky glares at him, his own drunken anger starting to shine in his eyes.

“Well maybe if you weren't such a damn introvert and actually tried to talk to girls, you wouldn't be so damn jealous all the time.” Bucky says coldly.

“It’s not cause I’m shy and you fucking know that” Steve mutters knowing Bucky knows better than anyone it’s cause of the ways Steve looks.

bucky scoffs, his arms still crossed over his chest.

“Oh, really?” Bucky says “Then what is it, huh? Why is it that every time I'm with a girl, you get all pissy and moody?”

Steve raises his eyebrows

“No stop that’s not fair. You know i get angry every single time because i try to talk to you and you have a girl on your arm and like her too much to to care about me, so be quiet. And-and-I have to just watch you because no girl wants to talk to a 5’2 boy who’s skinny like a 14 year old girl and doesn’t have the charm or anything that girls like. I mean you don’t know what it’s like I don’t have anything and you are fucking beautiful and you can buy them drinks, I mean my entire family is dead and my best friend hates me so yeah I’m moody” Steve finishes with a break in his voice.

Bucky stands there, completely taken aback by the anger and hurt in Steve's voice. He knew Steve was lonely, knew that he struggled with talking to girls, but hearing him say it out loud makes his chest ache.

“Jesus Christ, Steve...” Bucky whispers stepping further from Steve.

“Yeah” Steve says breaking eye contact and biting the inside of his cheek, he regretted the words as soon as they left his mouth but he knows he never would have been able to tell Bucky if not now.

Bucky runs a hand over his face, feeling guilty and frustrated at the same time.

“I-I didn't know it bothered you that much.”

Steve sucks in a breath and scoffs trying to quell the burning sensation in his eyes

“Yeah cause you don’t care enough” Steve mutters looking at the floor.

That statement makes Bucky bristle, his jaw clenching as he tries to keep his own anger in check.

“Don't you dare say I don't care enough. Don't you dare.” Bucky says with a waver in his angry tone.

Steve almost smirks from some sort of angered feeling in his chest.

“don’t lie to me buck.”

Bucky steps closer to Steve, his voice low and firm.

“I'm not lying. Why the hell you think I always come back to you, huh? Even when I'm with a different dame every night, why do you think I always come home to *you*?”

*he takes another step closer, his eyes locked onto Steve's.*

“Yeah, maybe I'm good at charming the girls, maybe I have no problem getting them to fall all over me, but none of that matters.”

He pauses, his voice barely above a whisper.

“When I walk out that damn door, I'm not thinking about those girls. I'm thinking about you.”

Steve breathes hard and tries and fails to stop the tears from falling down his cheeks.

“Fuck you” Steve mutters. “You don’t care about me buck. At least not like before”

Bucky stops, he reaches out and grabs Steve's face, his grip firm but gentle as he forces him to look at him

“That's bullshit, and you know it. I care about you more than anything. I care about you more than I care about anyone else. Maybe I don't show it in the best way, but dammit Steve, you know I care.”

Steve can feel his anger and frustration melting away as Bucky touches him, his heart fluttering at the tender gesture. He can see the raw emotion in Bucky's eyes, the love and concern written all over his face.

Steve finally says “You're a jerk, you know that?”

Bucky chuckles softly, rubbing his thumbs on Steve’s face.

“Don’t touch me like that, don’t give me false hope” Steve says.

His grip on Steve's face tightens slightly, his eyes studying every inch of him. He's frustrated and hurt, his heart clenching in his chest as he hears Steve's weary words.

“How do you know it's false?” Bucky says

He pulls him closer, his hands moving down to grip onto Steve's hips, keeping him close. His voice is a hoarse whisper as he says Steve's name.

Steve, just hear me out, please.

He lets out a small growl of frustration, his fingers tightening on Steve’s hips. He wants so badly to shake him, to make him understand, to make him believe.

“Then you’re a goddamn moron because I look at you every day like I can’t breathe without you.”

Bucky shakes his head, his voice taking on a desperate tone.

“You think I would do all of this, spend every goddamn day with you, if I didn't love you? Why would I do that if you didn't mean anything to me?”

“Stop” Steve says sharply “don’t act like you love me”

Bucky takes a deep breath, trying to articulate his thoughts without making things worse.

“You're the most important person in my life, Steve.” Bucky starts “Best friend, best pal, all that stuff. But you're also so much more than that. I care about you more than I care about anyone else. Not a single damn dame I've ever been with has meant as much to me as you do.”

Steve doesn’t know who moves in first, But neither of them cares, as they collide together in a bruising kiss. Bucky wraps his arms tightly around Steve, pulling him flush against his body. His hands grip onto the fabric of Steve's shirt, holding him so close that it's like he's trying to fuse them together.
