How DARE You Go And Die On Me??? - Jason Todd x Reader Soulmate AU -
Words: 2.1k
Requested? Yes! From a lovely anon!
“Jason Todd x reader soulmate AU pleasssse where when you touch them with skin for the first time there’s sparkly lights that only you and your soulmate see or something and you feel really warm and your soulmate glows or something? Thank you ❤️”
LINK TO PROMPTS -> REQUESTS ARE STILL OPEN!
I love this request. So much. I hope y’all enjoy this one because I really got to live out my famous science nerd dream. Thank you for the amazing request! I secretly love soulmate AU’s hehehe so please send more! Y’all are so creative with them too :)))
Soulmates were a sore subject for you. At a young age you glowed bright red, and it was the most crushing moment of your life. Soulmate glows only occurred when you touched your soulmate for the first time or when they died. Knowing this meant you would never meet your person was hard, but you hoped maybe you’d be one of the lucky ones who got a new soulmate, seeing as you were so young. But years later nothing had happened even though you stayed hopeful. Unlike so many who go off the rails once they realize there’s no one for them, you dedicated your life to researching soulmates, and it was incredibly fulfilling. As a high school intern working under a group of molecular biochemists, world renowned computer scientists, and psychiatrists you were worked towards creating a drug that made you glow in your soulmate color, it would make finding soulmates much easier and from there you could maybe make a sensor and go international with your research. Who wouldn’t want a drug that finds the person you’re meant to be with?
You’d been tracking soulmates to see if there’s any tell before they find out they are soulmates besides the glowing. It was painful to watch thousands find their life long partner but part of you hoped that by finishing this research you would be able to figure out if your soulmate was really gone, or get filthy rich trying. As just a teenager you planned on working for the company for the rest of your life, staying involved as you pursue your degree then returning, this project was growing up with you.
As far as you knew, soulmates were drawn together. That was the only explanation as to why so many people in your tests were soulmates. There was something almost magnetic about finding your other half, and you were convinced it was chartable. There was a scientific explanation for everything.
Finally the drug was ready, after months of blind trials and high highs and low lows it was time for the first wave of real life test runs. Grouping a couple thousand eager participants together, your team split into groups. Taking each participant into a room you gave them the drug and filled the color they glowed, and if anyone matched you’d bring them together. Of course all the interns on your team wanted to try too.
Stepping up you couldn’t hold in excitement. Since you were only newly a teenager you hoped your soulmate color would be cool. You’d seen some amazing colors and meetings all throughout the day. It couldn’t get more exciting.
Stepping up, you took the drug and waited.
And waited.
And waited.
But you didn’t glow. “Hey uh Y/N you did say you glowed when you were little right? Sorry to break it to yah kid but yours is gone, we’ve got a couple hundred more tests why don’t yah go home?” a voice came over the intercom, and your heart sunk. Sure some people didn’t glow either, and they all had flashed at some point. Your hope was clearly misplaced. And with a broken soul, quite literally, you went home.
Years later you’d kept with the team. The drug was almost ready to be released officially, and the public was beyond excited. You were 25 now, a huge public face for the soulmate finder, you’d stuck with the program and it had made you practically famous. Doing PR you’d brought the drug on talk shows, finding strangers their soulmate on live TV, you made special appearances to celebrities to find and log their soulmate color. Everyone that took your test had their specific color logged in a huge database, so when you tested if your perfect color matched somewhere your soulmate would get alerted. It was perfection.
Tonight you were going on television to do another round of soulmate finding with a late night host. Nothing new.
“And please welcome, Cupid Herself, Y/N!” The crowd was always full wherever you went, everyone wanted a chance at love as soon as possible. “Now I’m very sorry to disappoint the crowd but we’re bringing out some celebrities who’ve requested a chance at love... I bring you THE WAYNES!” You were a little shocked, you probably should’ve read the brief but no difference, you had enough for about ten people. Standing up you shook Bruce Wayne’s hand, moving onto the chair at the side while Bruce and three of his children walked in. “Hello! Mr. Grayson, Todd, and Ms. Brown right?” the host greeted the three and shook Bruce’s hand, no need for his introduction.
“These three couldn’t pass up on the opportunity. As you know Mr. Drake-Wayne has found his soulmate and now husband so we couldn’t bring him! And my son Damian was erm- busy.” You saw Jason Todd snort, slightly taken aback by his actions on live television. “Can I just say, I am super excited to be here! It’s a huge honor Ms. Y/L/N this is too cool!” Stephanie got up, giving you a quick hug, you smiled, happy that she was so kind.
“Well lets get this show on the road! I’m sure millions want to know if any of the Wayne’s are their soulmate!” the host waggled an eyebrow as the crowd cooed. This was basically a chance at the lottery, a Wayne was a ticket to riches for life. Taking the lead you gave your pitch about the drug, taking consent before grabbing a serving for four. Walking up you handed a glass to each boy, finishing with Bruce, but he refused. “Oh no, I don’t want to know” he said softly. The crowd booed, and in a bit of a panic the host said “well then how about the lovely Y/N takes a drink? We all want to know if the creator has a soulmate!” you politely told him and the crowd you’d tried before, but there was no light, explaining how you lost is when you were younger. As you saw the crowd looking upset you decided it was better than nothing.
“How about I try it guys! Maybe something’s changed - find out live here on Late Night!” you pitched into the camera and the host nodded, cutting to an ad-break.
“Does this shit actually work?” Jason turned to you, swirling the liquid around cautiously. Yes! We’ve been error free for five years!” you said proudly, this was your life's work after all. “And we’re back! How ‘bout we get this show on the road! Grayson you first?”
With a shrug Dick threw the little up back, and in a few seconds a cerulean blue glowed around him. The crowd oohed and ahhed as Dick smiled. “Any matches?” He looked to you. Glancing over at your guy who had snapped the exact color he shook his head. “Not yet! Dick Grayson-Wayne’s soulmate is still out there!” the crowd rumbled in excitement, everyone wanted a test now.
“Ms. Brown! Care to drink?” Stephanie drank eagerly, and quickly shone a deep royal purple and the crowd cheered. “No match!” you let everyone know and there was another cheer.
“Mr. Todd, you next?” Jason didn’t waste a moment, drinking the liquid he shone the brightest red you’d seen in a while. For a moment it reminded you of your red all those years ago. Looking over it was another no, and the crowd was almost losing it, many girls in the audience begged for a drink to see if they were his lover.
“And lastly Ms. Y/N! Ready to see the creator try her own drug?!” You corrected him, taking a moment to shout out all the amazing scientists, interns, and volunteers you’d worked with over the years. The crowd cut you off, chanting “DRINK DRINK DRINK” urging you to throw the cup back, the liquid tasted way better than the last time you’d tried it in the trial run. You help out your hand to show the lack of coloration and the audience sighed. Smiling sweetly you began to talk about the drop date.
“Thank you all so much! I’m so excited to release this with my team in just a month. I’d like to once again thank my tea-” you heard a shriek “OH MY GOD THAT’S JASON’S COLOR!!!” and the audience lost it. Confused you saw Jason’s jaw drop, and you looked at your hands that now radiated the same deep red from all those years ago.
“UM WE’LL BE RIGHT BACK!” the host shouted over the chaos. You immediately got up, rushing to the color scanner. “Holy shit Y/N it’s really Jason’s color.” he confirmed your suspicions and without thinking you sprinted back up to the sofa. Connecting your hand to Jason’s cheek the two of you began glowing the same color. Locking eyes with Jason, you couldn’t help but start crying. The aura radiated between the two of you and Jason pulled you into his chest.
The camera came on after the 20 second impromptu break. And what they saw made the news that night. “JASON TODD FOUND SOULMATE LIVE ON LATE NIGHT” “CAMERAS TURN ON AND JASON IS HOLDING HIS GIRL - TOO CUTE! CLICK FOR PICS” “JASON TODD CUFFED! SEE THE PICS HERE!” In just the few seconds before they could cut the cameras, millions of viewers saw Jason holding you, the bright red shining around the two of you while you clung to him. And the pictures were everywhere. Pulling you off stage you couldn’t wrap your mind around what had just happened.
“My- my soulmate died years ago. When I was a kid I took the drug and didn’t shine! This doesn’t make any sense!” you looked up a Jason and practically saw a lightbulb go off. “Well um, were you around 13 when your soulmate died? [ you nodded ] And you were about 14-15 when you tried the drug? [ again he was right ] Okay well long story I died and came back to life. And you must’ve tested when I was still gone” he finished and you almost passed out. “YOU DIED?” you screeched. And he clamped a hand over your mouth.
“Shh princess that’s valuable knowledge for family and soulmates only” it was slowly starting to register that you were in fact his soulmate. “Soulmates” you whispered, leaning in to hug him again. “Soulmates.” he confirmed.
“God I have never seen Jaybird this sappy in my life, you might be magical” Dick came up to you, shaking your hand and pulling you in for a hug. “You got a good soulmate Jay. By the way, can I have a couple servings early I’ve got a bet with Timbers that Damian’s soulmate is Jon and I need some soulmate help for myself?” you rolled your eyes and Jason tugged you back to his side. “Back off Grayson she doesn’t even know you!”
“A little protective already Jay? Poor Y/N get used to this sweetheart” Dick winked at you and you felt Jason tighten his grip around your waist. Dick backed off and Stephanie bounded up to you. “Oh my god Tim’s gonna die he’d totally wanna be here! Plus I bet Bruce is gonna have to do all sorts of interviews now hahaha. How are you doing girl? This is a lot! Welcome to the Waynes!” she said, pulling you in for another tight hug, and the seriousness of finding your soulmate hit you. “Oh my god I’m gonna have to do so much press. How did I not think of this. What are the odds oh no this is gonna be a shitstorm fuck fuck fuck” Jason interrupted you by squeezing your hand. “Uh I really hate press too, I mean Bruce owes me patrol for like a week for just tonight but, if you like, need me for something I can go... does that help?” he looked lost, but it was clear that he wanted to help, and it was adorable.
“I would like that. And it’s late. I’m exhausted. Maybe we can meet up tomorrow somewhere private? We’re gonna get stalked so maybe you can come over to my place?” you realized you just had to take it step by step, and finding a soulmate was the best first step ever. “Yeah, that seems easier.” Jason sighed, and the two of you exchanged numbers.
“By the way, what does patrol mean? And does the color red mean anything to you cuz it doesn’t to me and usually the color means something but it could not?” You saw Jason’s eyes widen.
“Erm, I’ll tell you tomorrow. It’s another one of those ‘family and soulmates only’ facts. If that’s okay?” you nodded, just happy to have a soulmate.
“Of course Jason, but just know I’m gonna give you a hard time for going and dying on me. Idiot” you stuck your tongue out as he winked.
“Only to make a perfect love story for you princess” and you groaned, but he wasn’t wrong. This one truly one for the books.

Baby, take my hand
I want you to be my husband
'Cause you're my Iron Man
And I love you 3000
[i love you 3000 by Stephanie Poetri ]
It was no surprise that you wanted to marry your boyfriend, and baby daddy, Jeon Jungkook. And it definitely wasn’t a surprise to Jungkook himself. You liked to remind him or tell him every now and then that the two of you should get married already, considering that you two already live together and have a kid together.
Although it comes off as a joke sometimes, you really do wish that he would take it seriously and consider it.
“Daddy!” Your son runs past you, giggling while holding his Iron Man figure. Jungkook was not far behind him wearing an Iron Man mask as he chased his son around the living room.
“Hey, boys, be careful,” you say, picking up the toys they knocked over off of the floor.
“Ooh, buddy, let’s go help mommy clean up our mess first,” Jungkook says, taking off the mask and ruffling Sian’s hair, pushing him towards you.
“Sorry mommy,” Sian says, throwing his toys into the bin.
“It’s okay, thanks for helping baby,” you say.
“Should we actually watch Iron man tonight? We have all three movies,” Jungkook says as he flops down on the couch, grabbing the remote.
“Umm, maybe you two can. I have to go make dinner,” you say, picking up the toy bin and taking it to Sian’s room.
Sian pouts as he watches you walk away, turning to his dad. He walks over to him, cuddling into Jungkook’s side as they both hold the same face as they watch you go in and out of Sian’s room.
“Why are you both just pouting at me?” You ask as you enter the living room.
Jungkook looks down at Sian and whispers into his ear. Should we just order dinner so mommy can watch with us? Sian instantly smiles and nods, running to grab Jungkook’s phone.
“Where is he going?” You say, as you watch your little boy zoom past you. Jungkook simply shrugs, reaching his arms out so you could come sit with him. You sigh, walking over and sitting on his lap.
“What Kook, I have so many things to doo~”
“Aren’t you just going to cook dinner? What else do you have planned?” He says, rubbing his nose on your cheek like a little bunny.
“That’s it, but I need to start preparing for it so after dinner I can go lay down.”
“Why do you seem so off today?” Jungkook asks, a little concerned that you’re not your usual playful, yet annoying, but a good annoying, self.
“I just have something in my mind that I’ve been thinking about,” you said, grabbing his hands and playing with his fingers.
“Then tell me!” He whines. “You’re scaring me, you're not yelling at me or anything it’s making me worried~” He pouts. You roll your eyes at him, looking back down at his fingers.
“I know we joke around about getting married and stuff all the time, especially with our friends, but you said the other day to look for my wedding dress and you usually act like you can’t read whenever I mention marriage so like… I don’t know..” Jungkook’s mouth drops into an ‘O’ shape.
“D-did did I say wedding dress? I’m almost 99.99 percent sure I just said dress and I was referring to your bridesmaid dress babe.” You frowned at his response, getting up to leave to start cooking for dinner. Jungkook instead laughs from under you, pulling you back into his lap and hugging you from behind.
“I’m kiddingggg.. Kind of. But did you actually look for one?” He asks resting his head on your shoulder, looking at you from the side. You had your lips in a pout and you nodded your head.
“Okay good. Because all jokes aside, I do want to marry you one day,” he says, turning your head to give you a kiss on the lips.
“Eeewwww,” you two hear. You both look towards the hallway and see your son with a cheeky little smile as he slowly walks back to the both of you on the couch. Jungkook’s phone in his hand.
“What do you mean, ew, get over here,” you say, pulling him onto your lap as soon as he got closer. Jungkook groans at the added weight on him and you slide off and sit nicely next to him instead.
“Where have you been,” you say, placing kisses on his little cheek. Jungkook looks at the both of you lovingly. Loving how perfect his life is so far and how perfect it would be when he finally, officially, makes you his wife.
“Daddy wanted to go order dinner,” Sian says in between giggles. “Daddy wants you to stay with us instead mommy.” You look up at Jungkook.
“You don’t want a home cooked dinner?” Jungkook shakes his head no.
“We rather have you here with us, you’ve been out with the girls lately, let’s hang out tonight.” Sian looks up at you with the biggest smile on his face, nodding his head excitedly.
“Okay, fine. Iron man marathon then?”
“YAY!” Your two boys exclaimed, throwing their hands up. Sian jumps over to Jungkook's lap, wrapping his arms around his dad’s neck.
“Thanks mommy,” Jungkook says, pulling you closer to him. “We love you 3000,” he says, pressing a kiss to your cheek, while Sian places one on your forehead, making you laugh.
“I love you both 3000 too,” you say.
“Now, I’ve been meaning to ask this but,” Jungkook says, turning to Sian. “Did you actually order food? I heard you talking when you left to get my phone.” Sian got off of Jungkook’s lap and went to grab his phone on the coffee table, where he placed it before you pulled him into your lap.
“I don’t know how to order so I called Uncle Taetae instead and told him to bring us food,” Sian says, showing Jungkook his phone.
Taehyungie Hyung
TH: jungkook-ah, sianie said he’d pass you the phone but hang up on me.
TH: he said you three need to order dinner so you can watch iron man but he only knows how to call me lol
TH: so what do you want, i’ll bring it there
“Aigoo~ Uncle Taetae is the best isn’t he??” Jungkook says with the biggest smile on his face before jumping up and calling Taehyung on his phone again.
“If he’s the best, why don’t you marry him instead of me?” You yell as he walks into the hallway.
“You’re right!” He yells back, your jaw drops and you look at Sian and his mouth is open too, holding the same expression as you.
“Mommy~” He says, turning to you. “But I don’t want Uncle Taetae to be my new mommy,” he pouts, reaching out for you. You burst out laughing at his comment, picking him up and running to your room where Jungkook was.
“YaH! JUNGKOOKAH, LISTEN TO WHAT SIAN SAID.”

On the The Host romance:
A lil note: @into-september as you’re reading Twilight, and your last post made me realise this, I thought it better to write my own post and tag you! Hope you don’t mind.
The Host is the first novel of an “adult” science fiction trilogy by Stephanie Meyer which never was finished. Published in 2008, the same year as Breaking Dawn, I guess she preferred gaining the benefits of her vampire saga to keep on writing.
For shame, because for me, The Host is much better at establishing worldbuilding, a concept and its protagonists + a romance (not that there isn’t anything cuestionable in it, but to my taste it’s better done than in Twilight). Here is the first paragraph of The Host wikipedia’s section on plot:
A species of parasitic aliens called "Souls" have invaded Earth, deeming the humans too violent to deserve the planet. When a Soul is implanted into a host body, the consciousness of the original owner is erased, leaving their memories and knowledge.
Wanderer, a Soul, is placed into the body of Melanie Stryder. However, Melanie's consciousness is still alive and begins to communicate with Wanderer mentally. Wanderer's assigned "Seeker" suggests that she could be placed into Melanie to retrieve the memories before disposing of the defective body, but Wanderer makes several attempts to deny her Seeker's wishes. As Wanderer starts to uncover some of Melanie's memories of her younger brother Jamie Stryder and her boyfriend Jared Howe, Melanie gets her to follow a series of landmarks throughout the Arizona desert to find her Uncle Jeb, hoping that Jared and Jamie are with him. By doing so, she would be denying the Seeker Melanie's memories and the humans they would lead her to.
Just. Read that and have the face to tell me it doesn’t sound more interesting than Twilight I dare you. Of course the books are different genres, although the focus is in the... more sentimental part in both. It’s just that The Host story is more unusual and the worldbuilding dreamy and subtly horrific.
Well I said I was gonna talk about the romance right? Spoilers incoming!
A bit of more context is necessary; in The Host, Melanie, the human Wanda (nickname of Wanderer) is possessing, is in love with the boyfriend mentioned in the sinopsis, Jared. Wanda being in the body of Melanie, feels things for him. We can divine for context this is sexual attraction plus having access to some of Melanie’s memories and noticing Jared is pretty ok as humans not possessed are left on Earth.
Melanie reaction to this oscillates between “don’t you dare touch my boyfriend alien” and “well of course you fell for him, he’s pretty awesome” to “if I can’t it’s ok if you want to” when she’s feeling herself disappear at one point. Which is bullshit bc her conscience comes back when Wanda goes to tell Jared to kiss her bc she’s feeling Melanie disappear and when he gets near Wanda, Melanie usually mounts a whole circus in her head. It works.
Well that’s one part of the romance. The other is Ian, a human in the settlement who is pretty level-headed and who starts talking to Wanda, as her guard first and then as her friend. No previous contact with Melanie, so he mets Wanda in Melanie’s body and isn’t excessively hostile or sad. Bc you know, an alien is in the body of you “niece, girlfriend, sister, etc” isn’t really conductive to good first impressions although that alien has come bearing the news that said person is still alive somewhere in their brain.
(Also the whole human group is so hilariously based on those paranoid about the government/end-of-days usa people... And it works! LMAO) (The social dynamics are interesting in this book ok? basic but ingenious)
So Wanda falls slowly without noticing for Ian; Ian falls first and confesses and everything. I think their first kiss was a bit sketchy? But generally they good.
The interesting thing is this: Melanie and so her body, is in love and attracted to Jared. Wanda, inhabiting Melanie’s body, starts realising that although Jared is pretty ok and all that, he’s really Melanie’s love; she doesn’t exactly like his more violent tendencies.
(Really he’s more apocalypse survivor hardcore, but he really was a dick to her at the start, bc alien possessing girlfriend and all. Also gave her mixed signals, etc. Very american male which, eh. Melanie is also very apocalypse survivor hardcore; the two mesh well bc of that lmao)
Well, as Stephanie Meyer is SM, and she has some weird ideas about romance the thing is, Wanda doesn’t feel sexually attracted to Ian. Bc all the hormones in her body are signaling only Jared. But she really is romantically attracted to Ian, and loves him. When they kiss, she likes it, but it’s not super passionate nor does it brings the same high that the few occasions Jared kissed her. To Ian’s credit he doesn’t really get it at the start, but then is immediately acepting of Wanda’s boundaries. I think he pushes a bit? But this SM so. Sigh. (I like to think in the hands of another author he wouldn’t do the sterotypical male thing but yah)
What I mean is that Stephanie Meyer, without intention, created an ace romance. Sure, it bc really weird biological alien science, but if you take it to mean Melanie is demi and only feels attracted to Jared, that makes her body reactions logical when Wanda also falls in love. She isn’t occupying the body wholly; there’s the host original presence; so she falls romantically but not physically. If I’m saying great idiotices please correct me under; I don’t have any background on sexology or biology.
Sadly, Wanda is also super worried of not being able of correctly loving Ian, so. Negation of ace identity in one, two..., warning to folks sensible to it.
And well, she ruins it when at the end when Wanda is put outside Melanie´s body into one who doesn’t have a human conscience. She explained the others how to take “souls” out of humans without killing any part, and how to take the “souls” to the space ships where they’ll be transported to other worlds. But sometimes the humans have passed so much time suppressed, or have been taken so young, that there isn’t a conscience-anyone to recover.
The Host is very weird, bc this is a race of genocidal colonist aliens who are weird beautiful little ribbons of silver in their original form, who after abandoning their original world by possessing another race who invaded them realised they could live whatever lives they wanted possessing people without dying and just. Went for it. They are a supposedly all peace loving gents, who cured all poverty and illness by their superior technology and like, very comunist-anarchist society. Who abhor violence, but don’t see eliminating other people identity as violence.
They are weird and amazing; when they realise having and raising children as humans costs so much, they start acting as parents to those humans without going to have a soul implanted on their kid, bc they love them as they are. A mess of contradictions, and Wanda is so interesting bc of this.
Sadly, SM acted again, and made Wanda one of the rare females able of auto-destroying to create more fragments of herself (aka other souls). The rest of souls don’t have any gender and chose bodies as whatever sex they like most. Guess Wanda being an alien was fine, but not having an explicit gender was too much, lol. To be fair, she says she prefers female bodies, but doesn’t really mind. Good on Wanda.
There’s a secondary romance too; the search of Ian’s brother, Kyle (who almost kills Wanda once) for his abducted girlfriend, Jodie. Results the soul inside her body, Sunny has all of Jodie’s memories of Kyle and is like, already in love with him. She lets herself be abducted, and when they explain they’re gonna get her out and why, is like, cries and begs, but accepts it bc is Jodie who Kyle loves. She hasn’t ever heard her like Wanda did Melanie, though, so when like a week or two pass and Jodie’s conscience remains dead Kyle consents (bc the other relatives of Jodie are soulified) to bring back Sunny. Wow. What a clusterfuck. They don’t date but there’s this weird vibe where Kyle has stopped hating all souls after Wanda’s mess and his encounter with Sunny, and Sunny herself is like; yay! I can live with humans and Kyle and I’ll keep trying to awake Jodie. And the two of them are described as inseparable?
It’s more intriguing than Twilight; I wished there were more fics interested in exploring cool canon divergences and all. I didn’t dive in the problematiqueTM aspects of the book but come on, this is SM and you have reading comprehension. I just wanted to talk about how interesting is the intersection of sexuality in romance in Wanda’s case >-< Still better than Twilight but I guess the aesthetic of vamps surpases The Host. Which. Valid ok? Each to their own.

Just another ordinary day in Gotham city and Dick, Jason, Tim, Damian, and Duke are enjoying the calm in different ways. But in the sunlight everyone casts shadows, and some are harder to avoid than others.
Chapter 1: Dick
The morning light shines through Dicks window, casting his small bedroom in a golden hue. He quickly glances at the clock on his bedside table, 8:00am faintly glowing on its screen. Dejectedly, he resigns to his fate; he has to get up.
After rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he carefully turns to the other side of the bed to see the beautiful redhead sleeping next to him. Barbara Gordon - sometimes he still can’t believe it. How did he ever get a girl like her? She’s smart, kind, and brave... not to mention the most beautiful girl he has ever seen.
He takes a minute just to let it sink in, then carefully kisses her forehead, and, though her eyes flutter, she doesn’t wake. Silently, he sneaks out of bed and creeps out of their room. Normally Babs would cook breakfast, but she was up late solving a cold case with Tim, and Dick wants to do something nice for her.
He slowly makes his way to the kitchen, stretching his sore muscles as he walks. Each step feels as though his own body is against him, fighting with everything it has to convince him to go back to his warm bed, but he persists. There was a time in his life when he could jump out of bed and run all the way to breakfast, but that time has long since passed.
He pauses for a moment, taken aback. When did his childhood begin to feel like a lifetime ago? He swears it was only yesterday he was running through the manor halls. Glancing around him, he takes in his surroundings; the short hallway from his bedroom to the kitchen is dark, getting lighter with each passing second. He could just see their couch, with Barbara’s favorite blanket strewn across the top and the kitchen table still covered in case files from last night.
Finally, he looks to the wall in front of him, filled with pictures of his family. The single picture of his parents surrounded by the family he has found, the family he has watched grow. There are pictures of all of them, though his favorite is the newest: a group photo of him and his brothers; even Jason is there. He can’t help but smile at the memory; it was right after Duke's first solo patrol and they all had dinner at the manor to celebrate.
Dick remembers starting out, all the pressure and the fear, but he can’t be happier with how it all turned out, with what he started. He knows it was hard on them following in his footsteps, but he can’t be prouder of what they’ve accomplished. He only hopes they know that.
After another moment, and a few deep breaths, he walks the rest of the way to his kitchen. After turning on the light, the first thing he does is start the coffee machine, the smell of the roasting beans waking him up properly. As that brews, Dick carefully clears the table, making sure to keep Barbara’s work in order.
Then he walks over to the fridge and opens it slowly, taking stock of what’s inside. His usual go-to is a nice big bowl of cereal, but Barbara deserves better. After a minute, he decides his best bet is just some simple scrambled eggs and toast; even he couldn’t mess that up, again.
A few more minutes pass and just as Dick is finishing the eggs, Barbara comes into view.
“Good morning, beautiful,” Dick says when he spots her. He always has to see her to know she’s there. So many years of training ingrained stealth into her bones, even silent in her wheelchair.
“Morning. Is that breakfast?”
“Yep! Scrambled eggs with extra cheese, just how you like it.” Dick places her coffee and plate of food on the dining room table just as she wheels into her spot, their motions fluid around each other, practiced a hundred times.
“Thanks babe,” she says, wrapping her hands around the warm mug. He got the coffee just right too. Dick kisses her quickly on the forehead in response, then turns to retrieve his own breakfast.
Though just as he is about to sit down, smoke fills the room.
“The toast!” He remembers too late. He promptly jumps to his feet as Babs begins to laugh. Acting quickly, he pulls out the toast and opens a window, just in time to stop the fire alarm from going off, again. After a few minutes of frantically waving his arms back and forth to clear the smoke, he finally sits down, now with the burnt toast in hand.
“A lot of help you were,” he says teasingly to his girlfriend, who has continued to eat her breakfast without him.
“You had it under control, you always do. Please tell me you aren’t going to eat that?” she asks when she notices Dick begin to butter the black toast.
“What? I like it burnt.” He grins. Babs just shakes her head, a fond smile appearing at her lips.
Once breakfast is finished and the plates cleaned and put away, Barbara opens her laptop and checks her messages.
“So, what do you want to do today?” Dick asks, leaning on the back of her wheelchair to see the screen.
“I don’t know. It looks like Duke is already out on patrol and he seems to have the city under control for now,” she says without looking up.
“Well then, it looks like we can have a quiet Saturday for once.”
“That sounds nice,” Barbara says longingly.
“It does. I just need to call Bruce real quick. Then I’m all yours.” Dick kisses her cheek then grabs his phone and dials.
He puts his phone next to his ear as he walks towards the window. Outside his apartment, Gotham City is slowly waking up: cars making their way to jobs, kids enjoying their day off from school. After a few more rings, he hears Bruce’s answering machine, not unexpected this early in the morning. Though by now he knows B doesn’t ever bother listening to his voicemails, so he doesn’t leave one.
Dialing a new number, he raises his phone back up to his ear. It takes less than one ring for a voice to come through.
“Grayson.”
“Morning, Damian,” Dick says cheerfully.
“Of that I am aware. What is the reason for this phone call?” Damian asks in his ever-emotionless tone.
“What? A guy can’t just call his little brother?” Dick asks playfully.
“Is that a rhetorical question?” Damian retorts dryly.
“Well now that you mention it. I called Bruce, but he didn’t pick up. Did he make it back from Star City ok?”
“Father has yet to return, he must have gotten caught up in the case, goodness knows Queen probably needs the help. He will undoubtedly make contact later when he remembers to look up from the computer screen,” Damian replies, though more curtly than usual.
“Is everything ok over there?” Dick asks. Most people couldn’t tell, but Dick could hear the odd tone in his little brother’s voice.
“Everything is fine. Brown was finally able to get Drake to sleep and I am under orders not to disturb him,” Damian responds.
“That’s good. How long was he awake this time?” asks Dick, as he turns to lean against his window.
“3 days. I don’t understand how he could even function… Not that I care. If that is what it takes for him to be of use then so be it. The mission is all that matters,” he adds quickly.
“Of course, the mission, but you know he’s family too. It’s okay to worry about him,” Dick says carefully.
“I am not worried. It would be a waste of my time to feel such emotions for anyone, let alone that imbecile,” Damian snaps, though Dick ignores the tone.
“Well I’m glad you’re not worried because Tim can handle himself,”
“If that will be all?” Damian asks haughtily.
“But if Tim isn’t bothering you what is?” Dick probes.
“Nothing.”
“Damian?” he questions.
“Really, Grayson, I am fine.”
“Ok, if you say so. Hey, since Bruce is still gone, do you want to patrol together tonight? Or are you going with Jon?” Dick asks, changing the subject.
“Kent and I have no plans. If you require my assistance, I can accompany you,” Damian replies.
“Awesome, 7 sound good?” Dick offers.
“Perfectly acceptable. I will meet you in the cave then.”
“Cool, see you then,” Dick replies happily.
Damian hangs up the phone without another word.
Dick takes a deep breath. Concern for his little brother is still fresh in his mind, but he knows if something were really wrong Damian would have told him. Shaking his head, he moves from his spot at the window back to where Babs is sitting, still looking at her laptop.
“Everything ok?” she asks without looking up from the screen.
“Yah. Bruce isn’t back yet so I spoke to Damian. Apparently, Stephanie finally got Tim to sleep.”
“Ooh, how long was he awake this time?” Babs questions, finally looking up.
“3 days. Did he seem alright while you were working together last night?” Dick asks while settling on the sofa next to her wheelchair.
“No more sleep deprived than usual. I have no idea how he does that, but I’ll admit I’m kind of jealous.”
“I’m not. I can’t imagine trying to deal with both of you while you're hyped up on caffeine.” Dick shuddered at the thought. He still had a bruise from the last time it was his turn to get Tim to sleep.
“You wouldn’t stand a chance.” Barbara smirks. “So did Damian know when Bruce is going to be back?”
“He didn’t know, if he’s not back by tonight Damian and I are going to head out for patrol around 7,” Dick responds.
“Hmm, it's not like Bruce not to call in. Maybe I should check up on him…”
“I’m sure he’s fine. Oliver would have called if something were wrong. Now come on, we have the whole day to ourselves. What do you want to do?” Dick says confidently.
“Well, there is some shopping I’ve wanted to do, and we could probably use a new toaster, one that’s a little harder to set on fire,” Barbara remarks with a grin.
“Hey!” Though just as Dick is about to protest, one look from Babs has him thinking twice. He puts his hands up in defeat. “You know what, that’s fair. And we can grab lunch while we're out, my treat.”
“Old Chuck’s Sandwich Truck?”
“You got it! I’ll grab our coats.” Dick smiles, kissing Barbara’s cheek.
The shops aren’t far from their apartment and the autumn weather hasn’t turned on them yet. The pair decide to take the opportunity and enjoy the cool day, walking leisurely to the shops.
The errands don’t take too long, just some essentials and a new toaster. Though they take their time simply enjoying each other’s company. Finally, arms full of bags, they start to make their way home.
The streets are busy but not yet filled with holiday shopping madness. Everyone is still in light jackets and shorts, no need to hide away from the cold yet. On the last turn to their apartment, they take a left instead of a right, heading toward a small nearby park. This particular park has all the best food trucks, though that has nothing to do with why he picked an apartment nearby, definitely.
Their walks were never dull, conversation always flowing easily between Dick and Barbara; from new movies to old memories, the topics never stayed the same for long. Though right now they walk in comfortable silence, no words are needed. At a crosswalk Dick glances down at Barbara with a smile, simply content to see her face, though she doesn’t notice. Her attention is taken by a bus unloading across the street; she can’t help but grin and stifle a laugh.
Across the entire left side of the bus is an ad for Wayne Enterprises, with a giant picture to Tim Drake-Wayne’s face. Dick follows her eyes and they almost miss the sign to cross, they are laughing so much. Tears in their eyes, they finish the walk to the park, still giggling to themselves.
“Please tell me you got a photo of that,” Dick asks once they reach the park.
“Of course. Who do you think I am, Bruce?” Babs replies sarcastically.
“Can you…”
“Already sent to your phone,” Barbara answers before he can even finish his question.
“I’m gonna send it to Tim, he’ll love this.” Dick takes out his phone and sends his little brother a quick text with the photo.
Following one last laughing fit, the pair head to a small food truck tucked in the back corner of the park, the aroma hitting them twenty feet away, and by the time they order both their stomachs are rumbling.
After placing their order, they sit down on a nearby table. It’s covered in graffiti, like everything in Gotham, but at least it looks clean and isn’t mysteriously wet. Dick doesn’t really notice though; his mind has traveled back to the bus ad with Tim’s face. He looked so grown up.
“So, Tim must be doing well at Wayne Enterprises huh?” Barbara asks, noticing the distracted look on her boyfriend’s face.
“Huh? Oh, yeah he is. It's only been a few months and productivity is up 10%,” he says, turning his full attention back to his girlfriend.
“You must be proud of him.”
“The whole family is.” And he means it: Tim is doing a great job.
“But?”
“I just hope he isn’t pushing himself too hard. There’s a reason I didn’t go into business at W.E. Our lives are busy enough with, well, you know. I couldn’t handle that kind of pressure on top of it.”
The words came out before he could stop them, but it was nice to finally air his worries out into the world.
“But that’s what makes you two different: stress like that is where Tim shines,” Barbara says, trying to ease his concern.
“I guess, but he still shouldn’t stay awake for days on end.”
“That’s just what he does, I don’t think anyone can change that,” Barbara points out. “Though maybe I should have tried to get him to rest last night.”
“He wouldn’t have listened; you’re right about no one being able to change him,” Dick says, and offers up a small smile.
“Except Stephanie apparently,” Barbara corrects.
“Except Steph. At this point she may be our only hope.” He smiles for real now. He’s so glad Tim has someone like her in his life.
After a few moments of content silence, the cook shouts that their order is ready. Dick gets up and retrieves their food and brings it back to the table. As the pair eats, their conversation returns to lighter things: the meal, the weather, the rules about their new toaster. The worries from their previous conversation melt away.
Once they finish, they throw away their trash and begin walking home. As they make their way back onto the street, a light rain begins to fall from above. Some passers by raise their umbrellas while others hurry indoors, but Dick and Barbara don’t even flinch. This was Gotham after all; rain was nothing. Though they both hope it stops before patrol, as rain and spandex don’t mix well.
On the final block of their walk they pass by a newsstand, still a common sight in Gotham. It’s almost like some parts of the city are frozen in time. Shifting her bags to one arm, Babs grabs a now slightly soggy paper and pays. It may be old fashioned, but some habits are harder to break. She blames her Dad for this one.
A few more feet and Dick steps up and unlocks the complex door, holding it open for Barbara to pass through. She smiles gratefully and rolls up to the elevator doors, hitting the button with her newspaper.
While waiting for the elevator she begins scanning the cover, a proud smile quickly appearing on her face. The front page headline was from last night: Batman and Robin had busted a local gang, and though some got away, most were now safely behind bars.
A moment later the elevator arrives, and they begin the slow ascent to their apartment floor.
“How’s it feel being a hero?” Barbara asks him coyly, holding up the newspaper for her boyfriend to see.
“You did all the hard work finding them,” he responds.
“Really though, how are you doing filling in for the big bad bat?” Barbara asks, becoming serious.
“It's fine. He needed my help, so I helped.” Dick shrugs.
“Really? No mixed feelings? I know you don’t want to become Batman, but you’ve really started to get good at it,” she probes.
“…Honestly? At first, I hated it, you know that. But after Bruce came back and it became a once in a while thing, it's not so bad. It’s just no matter what I do, I know I’ll never be as good as Bruce. Like last night, it should have been a piece of cake, but some of them still got away.” He looked down, guilt evident on his face.
“But you’re not Bruce and that’s ok,” Barbara reassures him.
“Is it? Part of the reason I didn’t want the cowl was because I didn’t want to know just how much better he is than me.” He sighs, shifting his bags to run a hand over his face.
“And?”
“And maybe I didn’t want him to know either, but now we both do. I just know how much I’ve already let him down, by not joining the company, by becoming a cop. I didn’t want to disappoint him in this too.”
“You aren’t. You’re doing a great job, and if I recall he didn’t start out perfectly either. You’re putting too much pressure on yourself,” she insists.
“Maybe.”
“Hey, there has to be some upside to it?” she asks, trying to lighten the mood.
“I mean, it is nice to patrol with Damian again,” he says.
“Oh yeah?”
“His fighting skills have come so far, and he actually listens to orders now and…” He can’t help the wave of pride washing over him as he talks about all of Damian’s achievements.
The elevator doors open to their floor. Realizing they could be heard, he shifts the conversation.
“…and his grades are great! All A’s. And he’s finally making friends, he and Jon have been hanging out a ton lately, I’m actually surprised he was free tonight,” he continues, careful of saying anything suspicious.
Reaching their apartment door, they make their way inside and begin putting away their groceries.
“He did sound a little odd earlier, though he may just have been worried about Tim,” Dick remembers.
“Really, I thought they still weren’t getting along?” Barbara asks, a bit surprised.
“They aren’t really, but I know Damian cares. I should probably bring it up on patrol tonight just to be safe. I need to make sure he knows he can tell me stuff too, especially if Tim isn’t,” Dick answers, his tone going serious again.
“I’m sure Tim will come around.”
“Hopefully. Maybe I should speak to him tonight too, though I doubt Alfred will let him out on patrol.”
“If you want to stay there tonight that’s ok with me. I can do my work from here. You spend some time with your brothers,” she offers with a reassuring smile.
“Thanks babe. I think I will,” Dick kisses Barbara’s forehead in thanks. He’s so grateful for her sometimes; she always knows what to say.
“Well, we’ve got a little time before you have to head out, want to watch a movie?” she asks, hoping to distract him for a little bit.
“Sure. Why don’t you pick while I finish putting the groceries away,” he responds as he picks up another bag and begins to put its contents away.
“Perfect.” She begins turning toward the couch half way there when she adds, “And don’t even think of touching the new toaster.”
He glances to the kitchen counter where it still sits in a plastic bag, deciding that’s probably a good idea and leaves it where it is.
Once he’s done putting away the rest of the groceries, Dick walks over to the couch, shrugging off his jacket as he goes. On the TV screen the first Avengers movie is just starting to play.
“Oh Avengers, you know I love me some good Steve Rogers,” Dick says. Barbara playfully punches his arm when he comes into range, then loops hers around his neck.
“Well you’re in luck, there’s a whole marathon on.”
In an instant he picks her up and settles them both down on the couch. Raising one arm behind his head he grabs Barbara’s blanket and throws it over them both, content to spend the next few hours by her side.
Towards the end of the movie, right as Tony flies into the wormhole to save the day, a news briefing flashes interrupts the scene.
“Good evening Gotham my name is Vicky Vale here with breaking news. This just in Gotham’s newest hero The Signal has stopped a bank robbery at Gotham National. Video shows him handing over several would be thieves to GCPD officers waiting outside. More at 6 on WWTN!”
The screen cuts back to the movie just as the Avengers decide to go out for shawarma.
“Wow look at Duke! Looks like Damian isn’t the only one finding his place,” Barbara comments.
“He’s a natural alright. He’s been here less than a year and he’s already going solo,” Dick replies.
“Well his powers can’t hurt,” she adds.
“He doesn’t need them, he does it all on his own,” Dick says confidently.
“You sound impressed,” Babs says.
“I am, no way I was doing that stuff year 1.”
“You were only 10 at the time,” she recalls.
“Still, he’s caught on so fast. I’m just glad he took the daytime route, or I might be out of a job. But in all seriousness, he really is doing great, even Bruce is surprised. And not just on the streets, he’s found his place in the family too. Even Damian likes him.”
“Wow, that’s high praise from him,” Babs says, surprised.
“It is, and I’ll admit, I wasn’t too sure at first. I didn’t see what Bruce did, but I’m glad I was wrong. He’s just the change this family needed after the past few years,” Dick says with a smile.
“I couldn’t agree more,” Barbara concurs. “Well we may have missed the end of the movie, but another is on after this. While we wait, can I trust you to make popcorn?”
“Hey, popcorn is my specialty,” he says sarcastically, and kisses her head as he gets up.
While walking to the kitchen, an alert on his phone grabs his attention. Looking down, a message from Jason fills the screen.
“I’m heading out early, got a tip about an arms deal down by the docks. Anybody else want in?”
Wow, Jason really has come a long way if he’s asking for backup. Well, not so much asking, but it's probably as close as they’ll ever get from him. He hasn’t exactly needed them lately, which is fine. Jason is his own man now, but that doesn’t mean Dick doesn’t miss spending time with him.
Jason’s death had really changed Dick, made him reevaluate what mattered to him, and now that’s Jason’s back he hopes his little brother knows he’s on that list. Though he’s sure Jason definitely has other priorities; he has his own mission now after all.
A lot of other heroes in the community think of Jason as a black sheep, but Dick never has. If anything, it's always impressed him how dedicated he is to his cause. At first, he was jealous of this new kid taking over his spot, but as time went on, he saw how much the boy had earned it.
Ever since Jason joined the family, he’s had a plan, and even now, after everything, he still knows what he needs to do. In some ways, he may even be more dedicated than Tim, giving up everything he had to fight his own way.
Dick can admit there was a time, a long time, when that was all he wanted. Now look at him, playing Batman while Bruce is off saving the world or whatever he’s doing this week. Maybe somewhere deep-down, Dick still is jealous of Jason.
“Dick, are you burning the popcorn?” Babs shouts from the living room.
“What? No, of course not.” Barbara’s call snaps Dick back to reality just in time to salvage their food.
He quickly grabs a bowl from a cabinet and pours the only slightly black popcorn inside. After adding enough butter to make Alfred wince, he heads back to the living room.
“Everything ok?” she asks, seeing his face.
“Jason texted, he’s heading out early to a bust, and wanted to know if anyone would like to join him.”
“Why don’t you join him? You probably have just enough time to go get Damian and meet him there.”
“You think that’s a good idea?”
“Yes, I do. You’ve been feeling like your brothers aren’t confiding in you anymore, maybe spending some time with them will help. All of them.”
“You’re right, I just don’t want to make things worse.”
“You won’t. He wouldn’t have asked if he didn’t want you there.”
“Alright I’ll go. Sorry it looks like you’re going to have to eat all this popcorn without me.”
Barbara looks down at the slightly burned kernels. “That’s too bad,” she says sarcastically.
Dick turns around and begins making his may to their hidden compartment filled with gear. He reaches for his phone to respond when it beeps again.
“Oh, maybe he changed his mind,” Dick mumbles to himself, as he looks at the device, but spread across the screen is a message he never wants to see.
Emergency: Code Red!
“Oh no…”

Getting A Life
She stood in the suit, preparing to return the infinity stones, many eyes on her, especially her two best friends.
She’d assured them repeatedly that she would be back, but given the way Sam was looking stressed and Bucky kept swallowing and dropping his eyes, it was clear they didn’t quite believe her. Time travel was a risky business, but she’d done it before successfully.
“Worrywarts,” she thought fondly as she disappeared.
For Sam and Bucky, it was the longest few minutes of their lives, but sure enough, she reappeared, giving everyone a thumbs up.
“Done!” She gasped, pulling the helmet off and shaking her blonde head.
“What’s with the long faces, boys?” She asked Sam and Bucky. “I was completely unharmed. Did you really think I wasn’t coming back?”
“I—Uh.” Bucky refused to meet her eyes.
“Come here.” She grabbed his arm and led him away where they could talk in private, shooting a “Don’t go anywhere. Your turn is next,” to Sam.
“Now, what’s this all about, Bucky? And don’t bullshit me. I know you too well.”
“Figured you might wanna stay with Peggy,” Bucky finally mumbled. “Couldn’t blame yah if you did.”
Stephanie sighed and wrapped her arms around him. Poor Bucky had so many trust issues now, but she was willing to reassure him however many times he needed.
“I loved Peggy,” she told him. “But she had a great life and a great family and I wasn’t about to go screwing that up. Plus, I really like how women have more freedom in this century. Also, I just got my big brother back and I’m not going to leave him.”
She smiled fondly at him, and Bucky finally cracked a grin.
“And a certain winged fella wouldn’t have anything to do with it?” He said, smirking at her.
Stephanie blushed and lightly punched him.
“Can you blame me?” She asked, glancing over her shoulder.
“He’s a pain in the ass, but a good man,” Bucky admitted. “You’re good for each other.”
Stephanie hugged him again. She’d missed her men so much. The five years without them had been miserable and she’d never forget the moment she’d first heard Sam’s voice in her ear saying “On Your left” as the portals opened. Tears had streamed down her face as she’d watched him flying toward her.
“Go on. Talk to him,” Bucky urged. “I can’t deal with your mutual pining anymore.”
“Jerk,” She said fondly and pulled herself away to go find Sam.
As she trotted away, she heard Bucky call after her, “He knows if he hurts you, there will be hell to pay.”
Stopping briefly to pick up her shield, she made her way over to where Sam was waiting.
“Hey.” She greeted, suddenly a little less sure of herself.
“Hey, yourself,” Sam replied, giving her one of his stunning smiles.
“Sam, did you really think I wouldn’t come back to you?” She asked gently.
He shook his head. “Not voluntarily, but Time travel is time travel. You could have gotten stuck anywhere.”
“But I didn’t,” she reminded him. “I had a very strong motivation to get back here.”
She dropped the shield and grabbed his hands.
“Sam, I know I’ve dragged you into a lot of trouble, and I don’t think I’ve told you enough just how much I appreciate you, but that ends now.”
She took a deep breath, and her blue eyes looked earnestly into his brown ones.
“The truth is, I’m crazy about you, Sam Wilson. I have been ever since DC. I trolled you really hard because I was crushing on you and I’m really bad at flirting,” she admitted, cheeks flushing a bit.
Sam broke out in a big grin, but he didn’t interrupt her.
“You’re a wonderful man, Sam, and you’ve helped so many people, especially me,” Stephanie continued. “I bitterly regretted not telling you how I felt before the snap, and I spent those years mourning that. Now that you’re back and the world is saved, I was wondering if maybe you’d like to take a chance with me.”
Her cheeks felt like they were on fire by now, but Stephanie felt like the way he was looking at her was a very positive sign.
“Steph, there is nothing I would like more,” he answered tenderly. “I fell for you about as fast as it took you to run one of those insane laps.”
She giggled at the way he wrinkled his nose at the memory and leaned up and boldly kissed that nose.
Smirking at him, she found herself being pulled much closer to him.
“You’re lucky you’re so cute,” he told her, brushing a lock of hair away from her face. “I’ll have you flirting properly in no time.”
“I’m sure you will,” she laughed, happiness flooding through her as Sam kissed her for the first time. It was short and sweet and then he pulled away to gauge her reaction.
“Nice, but I know you can do better, Wilson,” she said with a naughty grin.
Sam gave her a very smoldering look in response.
“Alright then, I will,” he murmured.
It was the best kiss of Stephanie Rogers’ life.

Ashleigh Wayne Fic AU Masterlist
Frenemies
~2600 words
Major Characters: Ashleigh Wayne (Batgirl), Leslie Willis (Livewire)
Minor Characters: Bruce Wayne, Jason Todd, Stephanie Brown, Harper Row (Bluebird), Artemis Grace
When Livewire invites Ash to a concert, she couldn't not except. Though now she has to find a way to sneak out, and be careful not to reveal her real identity.
Another night, another patrol, just Bluebird and Batgirl this time. They followed one of the regular routes, Harper had run it a hundred times before, Ashleigh, only a couple dozen. They ran across the rooftops, jumping from one to the next. They landed on a low roof, and both abruptly stopped.
"You feel that too," Harper asked.
Ashleigh nodded. "We're being followed."
There was a small flash as a spark jumped from a nearby electrical box, and Livewire appeared in front of them. "About time you noticed."
Harper raised her rifle, but Ashleigh quickly grabbed the barrel and pushed it down. "If she was going to attack us she would have done it before now."
"You're right," Harper grumbled. She gave Livewire a dirty look. "What do you want?"
"I want to talk to Batgirl. Alone."
Harper now gave Ashleigh a curious look. She just shrugged in response. "I'll be nearby," Harper stated as she leapt from the roof.
Once they was sure she was gone, Ash turned back to Livewire. "What's up?"
She held up two tickets. "Want to go?"
"Tooo?"
"A concert."
"You're inviting me? Why?"
"I have a spare ticket, and it'd be a same to let it go to waste."
"Why not Frost, or literally anyone else?"
"Frost isn't a big fan of the band, plus it'd be nice to hang out without you having to worry about getting back to patrol. Now if you ask one more question I'm retracting my offer. Yes or no?"
"Yeah, I'd love to."
"Next Friday then, meet me here at ten."
"Sounds good."
"See yah around, Batgirl," Livewire smiled as she turned to sparks, and disappeared in the same manner she had appeared.
Ashleigh found Harper waiting a few rooftops away. "I'll take it that that has something to do with all your sneaking off on patrols."
"You won't tell anyone, will you?"
"Of course not, your business is yours, just be careful."
"I always am."
"That's a flat out lie. What did she want anyway?"
She held up her ticket. "She invited me to a concert."
"And you're going?"
"I said I would, do you think B would mind?"
"You going to a concert with a wanted criminal, I don't think he'd enjoy that too much."
"So we are not to tell him."
"You're going to lie to him?"
"Yes."
"You couldn't lie to him about what the weather is like outside."
"I'll figure something out, just keep your mouth shut."
"Not a word, I promise."
Once they finished patrol and got home, Ashleigh immediately went looking for Jay. She found him in his room at the desk reading a book. "Jay, I need your advice, and possibly your assistance."
He looked up from his book and eyed her suspiciously. "My advice? On what?"
"Do you think Bruce would miss me if I disappeared for a night?"
"Where are you going?"
"Not important," she quickly stated.
"Would anyone be going with you?"
"No one from this household."
"Bruce's, albeit limited, dad sense would almost certainly notice you were gone by yourself."
"Then that brings me to the assistance part."
He leaned back with a mischievous smirk. "I could help, for a price."
"Ah, ah, ah," she cut in, producing the slip of paper he had given her for her birthday, "one free distraction."
Jay silently swore. "I knew I'd regret that."
"So, will you?"
"When do you need it?"
A plan was made, and soon the night of the concert came, and Ashleigh was busy getting ready in her room.
She threw on the bat hoodie Cass and Steph had made for her, a pair of ripped jeans she had stolen from Kate, and a pair of Carrie's tinted glasses she'd borrowed.
"Ready," Harper asked.
"As much as I will be."
The door opened, and Steph walked in. "Ash, you ready for- what's going on?"
Harper tossed an arm around Steph. "It is you and I going on patrol tonight."
She gave Ashleigh a curious look. "Where are you off to?"
Harper ran a hand through her hair. "You're not going to ask any questions or mention this to anyone if you enjoy that pretty blonde hair of yours," she threatened, making a snipping motion with her free hand.
Steph looked horrified. "You wouldn't?"
"Try me."
She looked between the two for moment, then her eyes stayed on Harper. "I... think it's time we go."
"That's what I thought," Harper said as she guided Steph out of the room, "good luck, Ash."
Ashleigh grabbed her backpack before meeting Jay at the top of the staircase. The two headed to the kitchen where Bruce was. Ashleigh stayed by the door, while Jay went in.
"Bruce, I'm taking Ash out for the night," he declared.
Bruce looked at him curiously. "Where exactly?"
"Out and about, here and there, get her to experience some of the Gotham night life."
"What are you up to," Bruce asked, suspicion clear in his voice.
Jay sighed and sat down across from him. "Look Bruce, Ash, and I don't do alot, just us, you know, I just want some one on one sibling bonding."
"Okay, but home by three."
"Of course," he agreed, standing up.
"And you are not to let her out of your sight for a second."
"Got it," he said as he headed out the door by Ashleigh. "The old man says yes, let's go."
She followed him through the house to the garage. "I know that was just a lie, but maybe, another day, we can have an actual night out, just me, and you?"
"Any day, Kid, you just say the word," he said, ruffling her hair.
The got to the garage, and Ashleigh sat into the passenger seat of Jay's old muscle car. She started adjusting the seat when Jay grabbed her hand. "In the back."
"Why?"
"Shotgun's for Artemis."
"I can get into the back when we pick her up."
"Now."
She rolled my eyes, but pulled the seat forward and got into the back. She watched as Jay adjusted the seat back as to close to the original position as he could. "Artemis gets grouchy when people mess with her seat," he explained as he got in the driver's seat.
They drove for a while before stopping outside an old train car diner. "I'll just be second," Jay said as he headed inside.
He soon came back out with coffee, a small bag, and Artemis in tow. He sat into the car, and handed the bag to Ashleigh. "Thought you might want a snack."
Inside she found a donut, and a can of fizzy mineral. "Thank you."
A strange look crossed Artemis's face when she sat into the car. "Who messed with my seat?"
Jay's gaze met Ashleigh's in the mirror. "Ash."
She nervously smiled. "Sorry."
"You get a pass, once," Artemis playfully threatened.
Ashleigh ate her donut, carefully to keep the crumbs in the bag, as they drove to the place she had told Jay. They stopped on a very barren, and desolate looking street.
"Are you sure this is where you want to get out," Jay asked.
"Yep."
"Alright," he said as he stepped out of the car, and pulled the seat forward for her. She climbed past him, and he sat back in.
"Thanks for the ride, Jay,"
"No problem, just call me when you need a pick-up."
Ashleigh pulled her hood up before heading across the street. She could feel their gazes on her as she disappeared round the corner. She walked a couple more block, making sure they hadn't followed her, before climbing up a fire escape to the roof. She then quickly made her across them until she got to the one she had received the invitation a week earlier.
There was a sudden spark from the box again, and Livewire appeared. "What took you so long?"
"I got here as quick as I could."
"Are you ready?"
"As I'll ever be."
"Good answer," she said. Her attention was drawn to the bat symbol on Ashleigh's hoodie. "Afraid I'll lose you," she teased as her gaze went up to the hood, "and are those cat ears?"
"They're supposed to be bat ears."
She grabbed one, and lightly tugged at it. "God you're adorable, in a pathetic kind of way."
Ashleigh playfully shoved her away. "This is coming from the girl wearing the bottom half of a Halloween costume."
"Don't insult the skeleton pants," she stated as they headed for the fire escape. "What do I call you by the way?"
"Huh?"
"I can't call you, Batgirl."
"And I can't call you, Livewire."
She stopped and thought for a moment. "I'll allow you to call me Leslie, tonight only, but I've got to call you something."
"Do I get a say in it?"
"Nope," she smirked as she began to circle Ashleigh, inspecting her. She finally stopped, and gently took hold of the small cat charm on her choker. "Cat ears, and a collar-"
"Choker," Ashleigh corrected her, "and they're bat ears."
"Potato, potato. Cat ears, and a collar, how about Kitten?"
"Kitten? Not a chance, not unless you want me to call you Mister Bones all night."
"Okay, okay, how about Blue? You've got a blue symbol, the inside of the ears are blue."
"And my favourite colour is Blue."
"Exactly, Blue it is," she repeated as she headed off down the fire escape
Ashleigh followed quickly behind her. "How exactly are we getting there?"
"I borrowed Frost's car," she explained as they reached the alleyway, where an old black muscle car sat waiting.
"Before I get in this, I have two questions, can you drive, and is this stolen?"
"Are you going to arrest me based on these answers?"
"Not tonight."
"Then, yes, but I don't have a license, and most likely."
"I figured as much, let's go."
Leslie flashed her a smirk as they got in the car, and headed to the venue. The venue wasn't huge, nor was there a huge amount of people, but still more then enough noise to give Ashleigh a headache. She never had been a big fan of concerts, too loud for her liking, but, just like when she with her siblings, being with Lelsie made it fun, and the music wasn't half bad, she actually enjoyed it.
Afterwards, Leslie intended to steal some merchandise, but Ashleigh insisted on paying for it instead, to which Leslie reluctantly agreed, buying a pair of tees, which Lelsie though over her torn yellow tank top, while Ashleigh stuffed hers in her bag.
"How about a drink," Leslie asked as they stepped out of the venue, "I know a bar not to far from here that doesn't ask for ID."
"I'd love to, but my dad wants me in by three."
"Daddy's girl," she teased as she checked her phone, "it's only midnight, you got a couple hours."
"I don't know."
"Just one drink."
Ash sighed. "I'll come with, but I'm not drinking."
"That's fair, now follow me."
They walked a couple blocks before stopping outside a rather sketchy looking bar.
The first thing Ash noticed when she got inside was the patrons, she was pretty sure she had knocked at least half a dozen of them out at one point or another. "Are you sure I should be here?"
"You're fine, no one knows who you are."
"I'm still wearing a bat logo."
"Here's a little secret, must goons don't actually hate superheroes, they're just trying to make a living," she explained as they took a seat at the bar. "Your paying, right?"
"Yeah."
"Cool. One pint, and a water please," she told the bartender.
"I bought you a band tee, drinks at the concert, which, by the way, are way overpriced, and now I'm paying for your drinks here, did you only bring me along so I could pay for stuff?"
"No, of course not," she quickly defended herself, "I wanted to hang out, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been getting you to pay for all these things."
"I was just kidding, Leslie, I don't mind paying for everything, if nothing else, I know I'm useful for that."
"Your useful for lots of other things as well, like keeping me out of jail, getting inside info on the Bats plans, and so much more."
Ash just smiled at her, and took a sip of her water, and Leslie did the same.
"Hey, when you said Dad earlier, were you talking about Batman or like another dad?"
"Batman, he is my father, not like biologically but you know."
"Yeah I do," she said as she took a sip of her drink, "so he's a Batdad."
"That's one way to put it."
"How'd you get Batdad to let you go out tonight?"
"He thinks I'm with my brother."
"Would he not approve of you being out with me?"
"I've heard enough lectures from him about you, I don't need another."
"He doesn't like me?"
"He thinks I spend too much time chatting with you when we fight. He doesn't trust me around you since he learned I was going to let you get away."
"How'd he find out?"
"He's Batman, it's hard to keep things from him, plus I'm horrible liar when it comes to him."
She chuckled. "That explains it. So no one but your brother knows your with me?"
"My brother doesn't know, he doesn't ask questions if you don't want him to."
"I like him already."
"Bluebird knows I'm with you though."
"Obviously. You know, sometimes I forget you heroes have like actual lives, what do you do outside of your night job?"
"Mostly just stuff with my family, and friends."
"Would you care to be more vague?"
"Sorry, I just hang out, mostly with my siblings, and my girlfriend-"
"You have a girlfriend," she cut in.
"Why do you sound shocked?"
"I just can't imagine Batdad allowing you to date."
"He's not that strict."
"Who's the lucky gal?"
"Wonder Girl."
She choked slightly on her drink. "Wonder Girl?"
"Is something wrong?"
"No, me, and her, well we've only fought a couple times, but she always left me bruised for weeks."
"She's like that. Have you got anyone special?"
"No one, a few friends back in Metropolis, but its just been me, and Frost since we moved to Gotham."
"Why did you move here, no way in hell dealing with Batman is easier then Supes?"
"Frost got in some trouble with some people," she admitted, "we had to leave, Gotham is the only place they wouldn't risk following us."
"Couldn't you have gone to Superman for help?"
"She tried, it only made things worse."
"Maybe Batman could-"
"Stop," she cut in, "forget I said anything, tonight's supposed to fun."
"Okay, how about another drink?"
The two drank, and chatted for hours until Ash eyes drifted to the clock on the wall, half three. "I've got to go," she explained as she stood up
"Wait," Leslie shouted as she forced a piece of paper into Ash's hand, "my number, text me one of the nights."
"Sure, of course."
They said their goodbyes then Ash left. She found Jay, and Artemis anxiously waiting for her where they had left her. After some quick questioning, which Ash answered vaguely, but enough to satisfy the two, they dropped Artemis off before heading back home.
Bruce was of course waiting for them, but Jay gave him a plausible lie, which he accepted. Ashleigh excitedly detailed her night to Harper before going to bed.
The next morning, she managed to sneak a little alone time in the cave before bed. She looked through the files till she found the one she was looking for, Killer Frost. "Let's see what trouble you've gotten yourself into, shall we."

tscc, dark angel, angel
G A S P! SHOCK! A DEEP DIVE! lol thank you
tscc:
Favorite Male Character- DUDE THATS SUCH A HARD QUESTION suffice it to say this is either john or derek depending on when you ask, buuuuuuut terminator in my face i say john
Favorite Female Character- JESSEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Least Favorite Character- i. struggle to think of anybody i found bad or boring or anything???? oh okay you know what i have eternal mixed feelings about the character we know as eileen/alan/abraham and the weird choices around them. yeah thats all i got
Favorite Ship- derek/jesse my heart breaks and i am just a mess forevermore
Favorite Friendship- lmao there is no way to call it a friendship it is not a friendship but riley/jesse is so very fucked up in so many trillions of ways but god i’m obsessed with them......... also riley/john i would have fucking loved to see them have a real relationship, platonic or otherwise, their dynamic is SO GOOD and the possibility of their dynamic when they were both open about themselves.... fUCK
Favorite Quote- there are so many off the top of my head but like the biggest gutpunch to me personally was when jesse called derek out for his suicide attempt, asking what was he doing there when she found him and he just says ~i was waiting for you~ THO THO THO ALTERNATIVELY when they’re trying to get ellison to help program john henry and he says- you wanna teach it commands? start with the first ten.
Worst Character Death (if any)- uhhhhhh i think i like all of the character deaths on this show- i mean rileys death K I L L S me but i’m not angry about it and it was incredibly well done. dereks? maybe? i’m not actually mad about it but it was very abrupt. like i get it tho? OH WAIT I HAVE A REAL ONE friendgirl of johns who killed herself in the plotline that was never resolved bc of the writers strike. that was horrifying and ultimately we never even got a reason (beyond the obvious one they hinted at)
This made me so happy you have no idea Moment- what on this show makes anybody happy????? ever?????????????????????? uhhhhh. fuck. i mean the reveal about who riley is is SO GOOD i’m just always happy when the pieces slot together and we see new depth?
Saddest Moment- so many things on this show make me sob but like peak among them bc like you can feel your soul screaming bc you have no idea what could be done differently, when riley and john both ask the other if they’ve got anything they want to tell them, and they both say no they don’t EVEN THO THEY BOTH KNOW WHAT THE OTHER ONE WANTS TO SAY BUT THE ACTUALLY SAYING IT PART WOULD CHANGE LITERALLY EVERYTHING UGH FUCK KFUCK FUCKCCCKCK
Favorite Location- the stupid future tunnels where i want to see what happens next in the series finale FUCK
dark angel:
Favorite Male Character- uhhhhhhhhh even tho him being 95% of the tags every time i check have grated all of my nerves, yeah i still love alec the most when it comes to dudes
Favorite Female Character- max is a forever and ever and ever girl
Least Favorite Character- ames white. i don’t remember much about that plotline but i remember a lot of UGHS and groaning
Favorite Ship- cindy/diamond i’m mad forever I KNOW THEY WERE ONLY ONE EPISODE BUT ME/THEM FOREVER
Favorite Friendship- max/cindy eternally, the best ride or dies ever
Favorite Quote- fight the power, protect the downtrodden. blah blah, woof woof. ALSO max’s whole little once upon a time story about tinga...... :(
Worst Character Death (if any)- diamonds death was painful and i hated it and it was a dumb thing anyway. like at least she got revenge but MEH TAKE IT BACK I DON’T WANT THESE. worse character resurrection is zack they should have just let him stay dead instead of turning him into a robot (i like zack this isn’t a slam against him but it was an epic death for him) OH OH ALSO ANNIE FISHER she never should have died that was dumb and a waste of kandyse mcclure
This made me so happy you have no idea Moment- when cindy and max cheated the money off of those assholes and then beat them up, still in their itty bitty sparkly outfits and left with such flair :) but just also max forever........ cindy/max forever.......... mine own heart.
Saddest Moment- when the show decided to make clones a thing breaking the whole internal logic of the entire first season aka them not knowing what the kids looked like :( I SAD
Favorite Location- i always thought the jam pony set was really fun. i love that the whole last episode was set there.
angel:
Favorite Male Character- angel, with a side called gunn or connor YAH I LIKE CONNOR I SAID IT YOU CAN ALL SUCK IT
Favorite Female Character- cordelia chase forever and EVER nobody else on planet earth holds a candle to her
Least Favorite Character- look i love christian kane i do, hes amazing in leverage- but man lindsey......... hes fine when hes snarking at lilah tho i’m with lilah in that groaning and screaming at wr&h being so blatantly misogynistic in preferring weak ass flip flopper lindsey over LILAH. also lindsey in s5 blew they should have spent the money they wasted on him and eve and adam wahtever and just paid for stephanie to be a main
Favorite Ship- cangel OTP ETERNAL
Favorite Friendship- angel/gunn is such a good dynamic that you can feeeeeel the show dropping (along with so much of their gunn-centric content bc they didn’t know how to write for him and never thought hm maybe we should hire some black writers)
Favorite Quote- it’s a cliche at this point and theres many great quotes on this show but it really does hit home- if nothing we do matters, all that matters is what we do. cause thats all there is.
Worst Character Death (if any)- freds death is vile trash garbage and they should feel like vile trash garbage for doing her like that
This made me so happy you have no idea Moment- cordelia and angel falling asleep with baby connor between them talking about how to spend a big payday........ such marrieds content..........
Saddest Moment- ‘is that it? am i done?’ idk if this would have been a SADDEST MOMENT before glenn quinn passed away but it sure hits hard now. it also hits hard when they replay it in you’re welcome right before cordelia dies
Favorite Location- the hyperion hotel is one of my favorite sets in all of television. i just wish we’d explored more of it, and that they hadn’t ditched it in favor of that new wolfram&hart set, which was honestly very very boring to me
#i answered that all really fast and didn't reread it#so like i'm sorry if its incomprehensible#if i think too hard on any of these points i would literally never be able to publish this ask#I'M REALLY BAD AT MEMES#lexmurphy#meme

You
Pairing: San x Reader
Genre: Fluff
Inspired: I love you 3000 by Stephanie Poetri, its not a songfic I just felt like typing something super fluffy after listening to this song
Summary: It felt like something straight out of a movie, you saw him once, you looked for him, you found him
So many blind dates, you didn’t know what to do. Playing matchmaker as such you haven’t found one who has interested you. Of course, you’re not super pretty but you like to think that you’re pretty enough for yourself. You felt beautiful, that's all that mattered.
Once again you excused yourself after your friends left with the guys they were interested in.
“I’ll head out first..” You smiled and picked up your bag. The guy left stumbled over his words but couldn’t say anything before you left.
You let out a sigh as soon as you got on your bed. There was one guy, the one you were searching for. But college campuses were huge so you were unsure if you would ever find him. You thought back when you first saw him.
_______________________________________________________________________
“Excuse me, do you-“ the person walked off before you could finish your sentence. You sighed in frustrations when a guy comes.
“Do you need help?” He asked, and you let out a big sigh.
“Yeah uh..” You fumbled with your phone trying to point to this location on your phone. “I’m really bad with directions so I can’t find this building. My interview is at 11..” You desperately asked and he looked at the location.
“That’s across campus.” He said and looked at his watch. “You don’t have much time..”
You let out a sad sigh. “What do I do…?” You let out.
“We don’t have much time, so it’s okay if I grab it right?” He asked and you were confused when he grabbed your wrist and pulled you. You both ran to the building and somehow you got there on time. You took deep breaths when you quickly thanked him and walked toward the interview room. You took one last look at him.
When you finished and exited the room, he was gone.
_______________________________________________________________________
You walk into a coffee shop just a few blocks away from the campus. Looking at the menu you couldn’t help but hear laughter from a corner of the room. You let a small smile as you cashier greeted you.
After order, you take your stuff and sit at a table. You heard more laughter and curiosity took over so you looked towards the direction. That’s when you found him. He was sitting there, laughing with his friends. You quickly looked down at your papers, when you heard your name being called. You got up and quickly got your drink. As you got back to your seat, you can sort of hear their conversation but you didn’t want to rude and listen in. As you continue to do your work, they all got up at some point and started making their way to the exit. As they walked by, one of them turned towards the guy.
“So San, you still looking for that girl?” A guy who was really tall and had blondish hair asked.
San. What a cute name. You secretly smiled to yourself as you had just found his name.
___________________________________________________________________
You continued to go to the coffee shop, in hopes to see him again. As you took a break from your studying, you received a text from your friend.
(F1/N) : Hey, you want to go on a group blind date?
(F2/N) : Pleaseee~
(Y/n) : Sure, when?
(F1/N) : tomorrow, at 17:30?
(Y/N) : Okay~
_____________________________________________________________________
On the day, you met up with your friends a few minutes beforehand. They both are putting some last-minute touches of their makeup as you retouched your lips. You all hear footsteps, and your friends quickly put away their makeup palettes.
As the boys entered, your friends shyly waved, that when you saw him. Your heart started beating. You let a small smile slip as they all walked over.
“Hello.” You all greeted each other. You all played a game where you all introduced your names.
Throughout the night, he was the life of the night. Making cute jokes, being loud, and just genuinely a kind person.
______________________________________________________________________
Later that night, he sent you a text.
San : did you get home safely?
(Y/n) : Yes, did you?
San : hahah yeah, well good luck on studying, its testing week!~
(Y/n) : thank you~! Good luck to you too~~
You sent that text, with a smile on your face.
As the months go by, you both got closer. He would text and ask if you wanted to hang out. Of course, you said yes.
“So what’s your plan today?” He asked as you two walked towards the cafeteria.
“Hmm, eat and then maybe go to the coffee shop and study.” You said and he looks at you.
“Shall we study together?” He asked and you nodded.
“Sure.” You said with a smile. He chuckles and you just fall more with his smile. He looks at you with this smirk.
“You’re staring at me..” He smirked, “You’re not falling for me are you?” Your face flushed and you let out a sarcastic chuckle.
“I don’t know.” You let out and he raised an eyebrow. “I mean I just want your dimples..” You said. You poked your right cheek with your right index finger. “If I do this, will I get them?” You asked. He just laughs at you.
“I think you’re perfect the way you are.” He gives you a wink, which made your heart skip a beat. You playfully hit him as you both continued your way. He then pokes your cheeks.
“Cute.” He says as he runs off afterward. You yell and follow him.
“San..” You pout as he slowed down for you.
_______________________________________________________________________
After getting lunch you both walked over to the cafe and you take out your stuff.
“I never asked but you were the guy who helped me find the building… Am I right?” You asked as you both had just taken out your school notes. San sat there and thought for a bit. His actions made you question yourself before he busted into a smile.
“Yeah.” He said cheekily. You pout as he just chuckled about your reaction.
“Thank you..” You said and he shrugged.
“It’s nothing. I’m glad you made it in time.” He said. He placed his chin into the palm of his hands as his elbows rested on the table. You blushed. You looked at him. You can feel it. In his eyes, he wants to ask. He wanted to ask you the question. The butterflies took over as you shy away from his stare.
You both studied for a while when he started to complain about studying. You just softly smile as you ignored his whines.
“(Y/N)..” He cooed. You looked up to see him leaned over the table.
“Yes?” You asked and he pouts.
“Can we go?” He asked and you just softly laugh.
“Yeah, let’s go..” You said as you start packing your stuff. He let out a small ‘yay’ and started packing his stuff. As you both walked to your place, you couldn’t help but look at him again. San smiled as he caught you staring.
“(Y/n).” He stopped and you stopped with him.
“Hmm?” You looked at him. San took your hand and smiled at you. His dimples showing, his eye smile showing.
“Let’s start dating..” He stated. It wasn’t even a question, but a statement. You let a big smile slipped.
“Yah, that is even a question..” You said, laughing and playfully hitting him. He laughed along with you before taking a hold on your other hand.
“Okay.. then (y/n).. Will you go out with me?” San asked and you give him a smile.
“Do you know me well enough?” You asked and he let a small pout as he thought. “What do you think I’ll say?” You continued.
“I think you’ll say ‘yes’?” He said and you shook your head.
“No…” You said, he was a bit confused. “That’s not enough…” You smiled, “I’ll love to..” You answered. He smiled his signature smile and interlocked his hand into yours.
Hand in hand you both, he walked you home.

Falsetto’s Tour Review...
Sooo nobody caresss but I saw Toursetto’s Sunday June 2nd with Nick Adams as Whizzer, Max von Essen as Marvin, Eden Espinosa as Trina, Nick Blaemire as Mendel, Audrey Cardwell as Cordelia, Bryonha Marie Parham as Charlotte, Thatcher Jacobs as Jason an here are my thoughts !
♔ When I saw the block sitting in the middle of the stage I almost started crying ♔I couldn’t make out what they were saying at the beginning of Four Jews, but I’ve seen people say that Nick Adams says “Yeehaw” lol
♔When Eden sings slavery-- she sings the OBC version instead of the higher notes Stephanie did ♔ I was sHOOK when Max opened his mouth to sing and sounded SO MUCH LIKE CHRISTIAN BORLE??? I was so WOW ♔ The Thrill of First Love gave me such a different vibe than the Revival version did. For starters, I did not hate Marvin in act one which is really unusual. In this song I usually view Marvin as mean and abusive, but I just felt myself feeling bad for him. This version of the song was more playful and less aggressive I think. ♔Whizzer doesn’t say “wash n’ wear” he says something like “what is this? A poly -blend?” ♔Marvin rips open Whizzers shirt and damn Nick Adams has some serious muscles lol ♔NICK BLAEMIRE??? Was soooo funny. He had me laughing to the point of tears. He was absolutely amazing. ♔ I didn’t realize in ‘Marvin at the Psychiatrist’ Whizzer was pissed when they called him ‘smarmy’ ♔Jason is so cute and his voice is so big ♔ When he says “just because you failed as parents” he says it through his teeth and his voice is really quiet ♔ I’m not sure what it was about Max portrayal, but he was literally just sad and decrepit. (Of course I didn’t like Marvin, but he just felt less mean) ♔ When they pull the chair away from him at the end of This Had Better Come to a Stop, Marvin turns and literally face plants ♔I’m breaking down was absolutely the highlight of Act I. Eden Espinosa was absolutely fucking amazing. In both productions, it was clear that Trina was having a breakdown, but here its less tears and more cackling and laughing. ♔ When she said “you ask is it fun to cry over nothing?” Her face was totally blank and sarcastic ♔ Of course we love a queen chopping a penis banana. ♔”Sure things’ll probably worsen but it’s not like I’m some happy person” she sits in the middle of the stage and laughs hysterically for a good ten seconds. ♔ “A freak who needs it maybe every other week” she stops and feels her boobs and sighs saying “ohhhhhhhh that feels reallllllly gooooooood” ♔ Every Trina belting with a banana in her mouth is a fucking icon. ♔ She fucking bolted off stage with the knife in her hand lol ♔ “YAH,, this is Mendel wisenbach-FÉLDDD” ♔ When Trina says “chicken marengo” she rolls the ‘r’ im gay dont @ me ♔ When Trina says “I’ll wait for you” she holds out the note really long as she runs of the stage with the chicken marengo and then theres a crash and offstage she shouts (SHIT) ♔ During a marriage proposal,, after he says biblical times— theres a long pause and Marvin leans in and was like “YOURE DOING GREAT” ♔ March of the Falsettos was amazing,, and somehow?? Nick Adams still sounded fucking amazing singing it lol. ♔ The chess game was heartbreaking as always. I just fricking love nick?? He did so well. Also Max??? seemed so much less aggressive than christian borle… and just more disappointed. Idk how to describe it. ♔ I don’t know how I just realized that they are making a home out of what’s left of the set after Marvin and whizzer break up ♔ THE GAMES THAT I PLAY?? ANOTHER HIGHLIGHT OF THIS ACT. Nick sounded sooo amazing and I either got chills from how cold the theater was or from his voice and I’m pretty sure it was the latter ♔ Marvin hit Trina. Yeah. This was completely heartbreaking. Honestly this Jason was shook to the core and you could see it (when Marvin hit her) and it was probably the saddest part of the scene. ♔ Also Whizzer is the one who made the slapping sound behind Marvin, ♔ Marvin tried to hug Trina and Mendel PUSHED him away ♔ Marvin put his hands on his head and let out this really pained wail. Honestly I hate him, but I was like damn get help bc it was highkey sad. And poor Trina was trying to comfort Jason. It was a mess. ♔ Father to son was heartbreaking too bc Jason didn’t want to be anywhere near Marvin. Whenever he tried to touch him he would flinch away and Marvin was crying and hngggg. ♔ All I could say is that when he shined the light in our faces and called us homosexuals,,, it was blinding lol ♔ When he said a teeny tiny band and pointed to the orchestra the crowd cheered like crazy which is honestly what they deserved ♔ THE LESBIANS. THE LESBIANS!! Everyone was great in the show, but Dr. Charlotte. wow. She was so fucking amazing. I got excited every time she had a line because I knew she was about to slay. They were really cute together ♔ When Whizzer asks Marvin if he was still ‘queer’ in the baseball game Marvin’s voice got all old and he made his hands shake when he said “It’s been so long since I could tell” ♔ Good news, Nick Adams didn’t have a boner during a day in falsetto land LMFAO ♔ Something bad is happening. I was excited bc as I said. Bryonha is fucking amazing. She. Not only was her singing stellar, her acting was amazing. She was so angry and had so much passion despite her obvious confusion. Also Audrey Cardwell was the cutest Cordelia. ♔ During holding to the ground, three white sheets fall from the ceiling making the hospital room that Whizzer stays in. ♔ Not sure if it means anything, but I realize that the items at the hospital are the only things not made from the cube. Just an observation lol. ♔ I think Nick Adams Whizzer is my favorite (I think acting wise, I like Andrew better, but singing Nick takes the cake.) You gotta die sometime was beautiful and I started crying when he belted the last note. ♔ Jason’s Bar Mitzvah. Yeah. I was crying. They were all smiling but it looked so painful. ♔ Whizzer covered his mouth like he was about to cry and then reached out to touch Jason. He thanked him and left. Jason tried to follow him but Marvin stopped him and ugh. ♔ Before what would I do started playing (in the transition) the white curtains fell to the ground and pulled towards the edge of the stage. And when everything is gone marivin started singing. I like this— it made everything feel officially over. ♔ what would I do. This is my favorite song in the entire show and they were both so amazing I was crying uncontrollably (Even though was orchestra and pretty close to the stage, I was using my opera glasses ((yes I’m that bitch)) and god I could see Max was crying and FUCK I WAS RUINED. ♔ For falsetto land, they bring the block back on stage, and there is a piece sticking out. In the revival, they brought the block together from two pieces on either side of the stage, but in the tour they pushed it from stage left. ♔ Marvins sobs were really LOUD and heartbreaking. ♔ They put a spotlight on the chest piece until the blackout and I. UGH THANK GOD FOR WATERPROOF MASCARA.
♔I have seen so many Broadway In Chicago shows, and WOW this is definitely in my top three. The acting the singing, the orchestra and JESUS IT WAS JUST AMAZING

I wanted to write something for Ramadan and JayDami, but didn’t really get around to it until tonight. Here’s a snippet featuring Bat!Jason and a bit of introspection as to maybe why he’d consider wearing the cowl when Damian can’t.
I’m picturing Damian is in his twenties here, but a veteran of the Batsuit for about five years. Jason has been with him about that long.
“You know, it’s creepy how much you look like him,” Tim says conversationally at the end of patrol, pulling back his cowl and reaching over to help with Batman’s. There’s a grunt and a frown and a bit of dried blood that follows that. Tim passes over a wet wipe.
“Do you mean Bruce or Damian?” Jason asks, bone tired and bloody, but obediently uses the cloth to clean up his face. It removes most of the makeup Stephanie had plastered onto him to deepen the shadows of his face, make the image of the current Bat stand. After a month, he thought he’d be used to the charade, but he’s not.
“Both, given the demonspawn looks just like him,” Tim grunts, using a wipe on his own face. “But I mostly meant Bruce. Damian will always look like him when he wears the cowl.”
“And further the ghost story,” Jason chuckles, because the criminals of Gotham have aged, but the Bat never seems to. It’s part of the magic that is Damian Wayne. “And I’m not sure if I want to take that as an insult or not, Timmers.”
Tim rolls his eyes, but it’s fond. Tired too. The years have worn them both down, but Tim has always been an exhausted mess, even with plenty of sleep.
Jason pushes him towards the ledge. “Go sleep, go home. I’m sure you’ve got a warm bed waiting.”
Tim hums happily at that and nods, pulling his cowl back on. “Get home to yours too,” he says, all teeth in his grin. “You know how he worries.”
“Understatement,” Jason laughs him off, waves goodbye, and slides Batman’s mask back down. Even with the temp stitches Dick had sewn in to make it fit better, it doesn’t fit quite right. Rubs the wrong way on his skin, leaving marks. Jason wishes it bothered him more, but it doesn’t. He’s glad the cowl doesn’t fit. He never wanted it to start with.
Love and age had tempered that down, however, and a soft plea in the dark had shattered his walls. He’d taken the cowl up and the mantle, taken its weight and responsibility, and done the job. Temporary basis only, of course. And, thankfully, it’s almost over.
He drops down onto his balcony just as the horizon begins its climb towards light, and slips into the room unseen. And there, on the bed, is his reason for pretty much everything these days, stubbornly awake and scrambling ungainly limbs free from covers to greet him.
“How is it you’re graceful everywhere but on the bed?” Jason laughs as he’s kissed and lets himself be tugged further into the room. The more inside he gets, the warmer he feels, and for a moment the Bat symbol on his chest means absolutely nothing. A perfect feeling.
“You’re late,” is how Damian answers that, patting him down like there’s a live bomb strapped to him, and Jason lets it happen, waiting until Damian is satisfied he is unhurt. Unhurt enough, at the very least.
“You’re bleeding,” he says, touching the spot on Jason’s temple smeared with blackened red. Jason catches his hand and kisses it, shaking his head.
“I’ll live,” he promises and starts in on removing the suit. It’s a struggle, it always is, because it’s not made for him, but for Damian, his every curve and angle. Jason is just as broad but shorter, just enough it feels like putting on a wet sock, most days. Not that he can mind that either. He’s never wanted this wet sock on him in the first place.
Thankfully, more hands make light work, and Damian is an expert. Five years as Batman and he can undo the suit with his eyes closed and half asleep. Jason’s seen him do it, too. In mere minutes it’s a pile on the floor and Jason can breathe, finally, and pulls him back in for a more proper kiss, unrestricted by the weight of the Bat on his chest.
“How were your prayers?” he asks, letting himself be led towards the bathroom. Slipping free from the armor had jostled a few scratches back to bleeding and Damian is clearly on a mission about them. He gives no protest as he perches on the bathroom counter.
“For once, uncomplicated,” Damian admits softly as he tapes Jason back together. “I hadn’t thought carrying Batman would complicate things in my spiritual life so much.”
Jason presses his face into his neck tiredly, listening close. “I can see how it could be,” he offers in support when a beat of silence passes, not fully understanding, but getting it enough. At least he hopes. “Your religion doesn’t exactly condone vigilantism.”
Damian snorts a little, smiling a crooked smile, and lets Jason nuzzle into him like a purring cat. “I’m not sure any religion does, yah habibi.”
“Fair point,” Jason grunts as Damian switches to his other side, leaving him to move from his soft nest of neck and settle for leaning his head against the cabinet. It’s rather jarring. “But you’re doing it for the right reasons. And don’t start arguing,” he adds when Damian gets a stubborn look, “because I know. You took up the Bat because it was your birthright, but we both know that reason died a long time ago. You do it now for Gotham, for its people. And if your God has an issue with that, He can fight me.”
Damian huffs a soft laugh at that, shaking his head. “You’re terribly ignorant about Islam,” he says, pulling on Jason’s white bangs, “but it’s endearing. Thank you.”
Jason catches his hand and holds it. “You do wonders, Damian. Never doubt that.”
“Maybe I do, but I still can’t do it without you,” Damian sighs a little, frustrated. “You hate this, don’t even deny it.”
“I hate this,” Jason agrees, and it’s easy as breathing now, but just as earnest as the first time when he says, “But I love you.”
Damian looks at him the way he always does when he says those words, like it’s a gift. Jason leans forward to press a kiss under Damian’s left eye, his signature move, and feels the man melt against him.
“And I’m willing to do this every Ramadan,” he murmurs into Damian’s ear, “so you can get some peace. Got that?”
Damian nods, sinking into him more, and laughs a little more earnestly. “I’m willing to let you, since you look like a wet cat every time.”
“The only thing Bruce taught me that stuck,” Jason teases with utmost seriousness, making Damian laugh even harder. “Wet cat glares. Fear the Bat.”
He’s kissed for that and smiles, loving the goofy grin Damian’s got now. It still startles him how easy it is to love him, to let himself be loved. To wear this cowl and cape so Damian can pray without guilt. To find it isn’t that heavy, after all, and neither, in that vein, is Damian.
And, Damian’s God willing, he’ll get to carry him the rest of his life.

Stingy is starting to ask people to use They/Them pronouns for them. Trix wants everyone to call him Trix until he can come up with a better name. Robbie changes pronouns every other day. Even Ziggy is starting to think out loud about how he identifies. Stephanie is endlessly supportive; since she came to Lazytown as a trans girl, she feels its her job to help her friends figure themselves out and is delighted to do so.
It’s Pixel who feels like a bad person.
He’s afraid to talk to Stingy because he doesn’t want to use the wrong pronoun. When Pixel sees Trix his first thought is “Oh hey it’s Trixie!” before his face turns red in shame that he slipped up. Sometimes Ziggy will ask him his thoughts on pronouns and gender roles and Pixel goes quiet because he’s afraid to give bad advice or say the wrong thing.
More than ever Pixel retreats into his room to play video games. He doesn’t have to talk with anyone, he doesn’t have to worry; he can just shoot goblins and get high scores and laugh with strangers across the world.
He wishes he could talk to Stephanie about the constant guilt he feels but she wouldn’t understand. All this comes so easily to her. She never slips up, never hesitates. It’s only Pixel who’s a bad friend.
One day Pixel goes for a snack run. On the way, he spots Trix and Stephanie walking the opposite direction. As they pass the Mayor’s house, Milford waves in greeting. “Good morning, Trixie! Oh- I mean, Trix! Your new haircut looks handsome on you!”
Stephanie giggles and Trix waves back with a thanks. Stunned, Pixel jogs to catch up to them. “Why aren’t you mad at him?” He asks without preamble.
Trix and Stephanie stop. “Mad about what? Him using the wrong name?”
“Yeah!”
Trix shrugs. “I mean, he’s Mayor Milford. You know how forgetful he can be. Besides, he’s fixed his own mistake.”
“But... you don’t think he’s, you know, being transphobic?”
“For forgetting my new name?” Trix looks stunned and maybe a little offended. “No! He’s our friend! People just mess up sometimes, yah know?”
Stephanie nods. “I think the only reason he never deadnamed me when I first got here is because he forgot what my old name was.”
“So,” Pixel goes on. He has to be sure. “if someone gets your name or pronoun wrong, you don’t think they’re a bad person?”
“If they’re doing it on purpose, that’s one thing. And to be honest there are some days where the mistake might piss me off. But other than that, no.” Trix shakes his head. “I know you’re all trying your best. It’s a big change.”
Clever as always, Stephanie narrows her eyes at Pixel. “Is that why you’ve been hiding so much?”
“...Maybe.”
Trix laughs and punches his shoulder. “You’re such a geek. I’m not gonna start hating my friends because of a few slip ups! And maybe if you hung out with us more, you’d get used to it faster. Did yah think of that, smarty pants?”
Pixel laughs with him. All the stress of the past few weeks seems ridiculous and a big waste of time. In its place comes relief. Forgetting about the snacks he was going to bring back to his computer, Pixel follows Trix and Stephanie to the park where Robbie is passing out old clothes to Stingy and Ziggy. The impromptu fashion show/try on session is the most fun Pixel’s had in a long time.

BatBoys on Working Out
Dick
The outfit?
Booty shorts or tight leggings and no shirt, cause let’s be real honest here, Dick prefers to feel free.
Has the most colourful running shoe collection in all of Gotham.
The music?
Upbeat classic rock songs, maybe alternative rock, depends on how he’s feeling.
The process?
Anything to do with gymnastics whether it be the horse, the bars, the rings, or the floor, he’s crazy for it all. Will beg any of his brothers to join him.
Babs even has a video on her phone of Dick and Jason creating their own gymnastic competition in the batcave gymnastic gym. There was lots of what the hell was that? and Dick, how the fuck did you even do that?
Likes to do quick circuit workouts when he’s short on time.
I’m pretty sure keeping after Damian is a workout. It’s exhausting how much he zips around. Where does he even get the energy?
Jason
The outfit?
Something ratty and worn out cause he could give less than two shits what he’s wearing.
The music?
Anything. Ariana grande? Hell yah. Beyoncé? Girl, I’m single as hell too. Imagine Dragons? *epic battle cry* Any rock music? *air guitar all the way*
The process?
Does patrol count, cause fighting along side an Amazon is a fucken heart rate booster!
And sex? That must count to?
Classic exercises like push-ups and crunches when he has time. Likes to run(he’s totally that hot guy everyone ogles when he’s running down the street).
Tim
The outfit?
Depends what he’s doing, but usually opts for leggings and a baggy shirt.
Will totally steal anyone’s shirt if it’s lying around and he can’t find one of his own.
He’ll legit stuff himself into one of his girlfriends shirts, that’s how lazy he is.
Has a collection of shirts from each of his brothers, the titans, the teen titans, the justice league(most likely).
The music?
Pop is fine, doesn’t really bother him, but anything upbeat to keep himself awake.
The process?
Swimming, a good morning swim.
Weights, quick sets of push-ups, and squats.
Doesn’t have a lot of time cause he spends the majority of it running around investigating or behind a computer.
Absolutely loves and will take any chance to do a workout with any of his brothers, even Damian.
A proven stress reliever to be able to punch the smirk off Damian’s face a few times, or beat him in a sprint.
Jason is the most fun because every workout veers to running at each other with exercise balls or doing ridiculous stunts on the treadmill.
Dick would be his favourite cause his oldest brother is always pumped to teach him new skillz and challenge him to new records.
Damian
The outfit?
If he’s practicing any traditional martial arts or kata, he’d dress in a gi.
If he’s doing any sort of cardio or strength routine, he’d wear shorts, sweats, long or short sleeved shirts.
Stephanie got him a whole whack load of attire from Under Armour last Christmas.
He absolutely loves the neon green hoodie(nearly killed Tim again when he stole it).
The music?
Silence.
The process?
Any kind of martial arts imaginable.
Running or sprinting.
Acrobatics.
Considers punching Tim in the face a beneficial workout for the both of them.
More of any kind of martial arts imaginable.
This kid is a workout obsessed machine.

I Love Me.
A Short Story:
Two bridesmaids in their late 20s gather around a mirror in a fancy bridal suite. They have just gotten their hair and makeup done by professionals.
Bridesmaid 1: “I need to just wear fake eyelashes all the time. I literally don’t have eyelashes. They are non-existent.”
Bridesmaid 2: “Tell me about it. Ugh, I hate this lip color on me; it’s drawing too much attention to my pencil-thin lips. I need lip injections. How much do those cost?”
A third bridesmaid enters the room and lets out a heavy sigh while looking in the mirror.
Bridesmaids 1 & 2, in unison: “OHMYGOD, you look gorgeous!”
Bridesmaid 3: *scoffs* “Um, OK, I literally look 6 months pregnant. This dress is NOT flattering on me and is really highlighting my flabby stomach.”
Bridesmaid 2: “At least you have boobs to fill this thing out; I have the tits of a 9 year old girl.”
Everyone laughs. At that moment, Bridesmaid 4 walks in the room and catches a glimpse of herself in the mirror and smiles.
Bridesmaid 3: “Aww, you look so good!”
Bridesmaid 4: “Thanks! I actually feel really pretty. I LOVE my hair like this!”
Bridesmaids 1, 2 and 3 are perplexed. Shook. Kind of even repulsed to be honest? Hearing a woman speak highly of herself just...does not compute.
Bridesmaid 1, under her breath: “Full of ourselves much...”
This ain’t right. But sadly, it’s reality. As a society, seeing women being self-loathing and self-deprecating is acceptable; welcomed, even. Listening to a woman berate herself might bother us and we might not agree with what they’re saying, but we are OK with them saying it. Why? Because WE say it. We talk about our flaws -- in our appearance AND personality -- but wouldn't dream of doing the opposite.
But I don’t think it’s a matter of women not loving things about themselves. Rather, it’s about the stigma attached to announcing it. We’re comfortable talking about our cellulite, our big foreheads and bad skin, but wouldn’t DARE say we think we have pretty amazing arms.
YES GURL.
So, I got an idea. I reached out to a few of my favorite female bloggers and posed a challenge: tell me what you love about yourself. Don’t hold back, don’t use negative terminology, don’t downplay. Don’t think in order to say something nice, you need to also say something negative (no “My nose is crooked but I still like it!”). THIS ISN’T AN EASY EXERCISE, but we doin’ the damn thing.
It’s important.
I now present you, 6 beautiful, intelligent & amazing women -- and what they love about themselves.
Who: Stephanie, from the blog Life According to Steph
I am fierce with myself and allow myself to be who I am, warts and all. I know my strengths, I’m not afraid to acknowledge my weaknesses, and I’m not interested in perfection.
I encourage and empower others, especially women. There’s room for all of us to shine.
I do what makes me happy, not what society tells me I should do.
I am an excellent nail painter (my own, not yours).
I work hard at being a good and contributing member of my community.
Who: Emma, from the blog Emma’s Thing
I love that I have no filter. I think life is too short to not speak your truth, tell it like it is, ask awkward questions, or tell someone they have a booger in their nose. I love that I'm upfront and let almost whatever's in my head come out of my mouth. Sure, it's caused some heartache but it also makes life interesting IMO.
I love my facial skin. I get compliments on it all the time and, even when I'm having a bad week with random acne or some weird, non-descript rash, I know I still have it very good. I thank my mom for the good genes.
I love my hair! It took me forever to love it, truly. My hair is very very curly naturally and, for years, I had no idea how TF to handle it. But once I figured it out, I finally learned to love it. At this point, IDK how I would fare if my hair suddenly changed on me. I wouldn't know WTF to do. I also love that its natural curl lends itself to not having to be washed very often, and I can wear it in crazy, messy ways without being questioned.
I love that I'm good at so many things. I can get sheepish about the fact that I can write, act, dance, sing, do comedy, have a good photography eye, etc. I'm not sure why — probably because it feels like bragging and showing off. But the fact of the matter is, yah girl has talent! I'm a Jill of all trades, if you will.
Who: Christine, from the blog Simply Stine
I am a giver and I always have been. Nothing makes me happier in life than doing random acts of kindness for others. I am in a position where I'm able to bring joy to other people and nothing makes me happier. It could be sending random packages in the mail to friends and family or sending flowers out of the blue. Doing things for other people is just something I've always done and loved doing.
I love my eyes. They're this beautiful blue and they just pop in the right lighting. I've always loved them.
I love that people come to me for all kinds of advice and support. I love listening and helping people, no matter what the situation involves. I want my friends and family to know that I'm always there for them and I'm always willing to sit down and listen to them. I think we all need that person in our life that we can go to, right?!?
I love that I'm finally happy with myself as a person. It took me a long time to understand that being "different" isn't a bad thing and that it's so much more of a positive than I ever realized. I am ok with being me and everything that comes along with accepting myself. Why did it take me over 30 years to realize this?!?
I'm a full-time Blogger and I love it. People don't always understand what it is that I do, but it's the best job. It's hard as hell some days and it isn't always fair, but it's so rewarding being able to have something that I'm in charge of come together and be a source of positivity and inspiration for others!
Who: Lindsay, from the blog Bourbon & Lipstick
I love my desire help others - be it those less needy, or something as simple as helping another blogger or blog reader.
I love that I don't take bullshit.
I love my big butt.
I love my work ethic and that I consistently strive to do/be better.
I love how I'm not afraid to speak up.
Who: Emelia, from the blog Dream Big & Buy the Shoes
I'm extremely goofy. I make up songs and rhymes and make a lot of weird noises. I enjoy it- my kids laugh and it keeps life interesting. One of my favorite things I say every day at some point...to my daughter is "Are you ready? Ready spaghetti? Is my little Betty spaghetti ready?" Not sure where I came up with it- but she smiles, and so do I.
I love my eyes. They're green- but sometimes look hazel, sometimes look grey. I get compliments on my eyes a lot, and it makes me happy because I feel that eyes are an interesting part of a person. Someone's eyes can tell a story- and maybe mine do that for people.
Determination- I have lots of it. I've been through some rough stuff in the past 34 years and I always come out the other side. I'm determined to make sure that my family is taken care of and that we are the happiest we can be so I persevere as much as I can in every situation.
I will do anything for my children. It's hard to be a parent- there's no clear cut instruction manual. There's a lot of judgements and opinions- but you need to figure out the path on your own. I'm extremely proud of the Mom I am to Ethan and Bella. Every day isn't perfect, but we make it the best we can.
I can multi-task and love being productive. I am someone who can not sit down to relax until everything is done- but hell if I can't get it all done in like 20 minutes. I will be sweeping the kitchen floor, starting laundry and loading the dishwasher while entertaining the baby and checking Instagram- HA. But for real, I have always had very busy jobs that require me doing a lot at once and I think that helped me as a person be very productive. Being busy and productive and getting things done is a great personality trait in my opinion- work work work work work!
Who: Allison, from the blog AA (ya know, the one you’re reading right now?)
I have a good eye. Whether I’m putting an outfit together, decorating a room or taking a photo, I love that I just know what looks good. If you see me in action doing any of those aforementioned things (especially photography; my second love after writing), you know I’m serious about it.
I have long, naturally muscular legs. I was born with long legs (thanks mom) which makes me appear taller than my actual 5 feet 4 inch stature, but years of walking in heels is likely responsible for some serious calf definition that I’ve always loved having.
I love my sense of humor and quick wit. It comes across in my writing, but in “real life” it’s there, too. I’ve always said I’d rather be the funniest person in the room instead of the smartest or prettiest, and I stand by that. Humor is SO important to me. AND I’M A FUNNY BITCH.
I’m true to who I am, always. I’ve never adapted, changed or downplayed anything about myself to appeal to or appease anyone else. I stand by my convictions and I’m proud of the woman I am and will stand up for what I believe in any day of the week.
My one dimple. One is better than none, and I have a pretty big one on the left side of my face that enhances my smile and normally causes someone to poke their finger in it when they see it, which sounds weird when I type it. I love that it’s kind of a “trademark” thing I have.
OK ladies (& gents, of course!) -- your turn! Leave what thing(s) you love about yourself in the comments. I’d love to hear!
