HW Zelda spent a good portion of her time with Link disguised as Sheik. She decided to keep her identity a secret from even Impa, which means she probably had to change her personality a little to make it convincing. So this entire time, Sheik and Link work together and fight together, and Link got to know this different persona. So when she revealed herself as Zelda, I wonder how that changed their relationship and dynamic?

Imagine Zelda is falling for Link but Link is falling for someone who doesn’t exist. Imagine Link’s agency and consent are so ambiguous because destiny determines that Link and Zelda are always together, that they have to be together, at least according to Lana and Cia.

I don’t know, I just have a lot of thoughts about HW Zelink. Not all of them are great. But I suppose if people write it well I can like it.

HAHFHWFHWH TRUEE REAL. exactly. i appreciate their dynamic as This but i also appreciate the Duality of their dynamic as being one where they can stop feeling the weight of Responsibility around each other due to the way their specific Responsibility complexes are changing/have changed. And also they all cancel each other out anyway. And their extreme Ride or Die attitudes go crazy. Almost Concerningly supportive of each other.

But anyway. when they Hang Out, as they are all overconfident and overly serious in some way, somebody always manages to start a competition that nobody can back down from or wants to lose and it spirals from there I think. but again. they are Unmasking Buddies. They have enough relatability between all of them that they feel no reason to cover many things up or put on a facade. because of the Understanding. Also every time they hang out for a certain amount of time they always delve into those like Deep Introspective conversations, probably. does this make sense.

this is all after a while though. like it would take them some time to overcome some hurdles and reach this dynamic. Teru and Shou only don’t immediately click because of Experiences and Circumstances though.

ALSO i think of your post where its like. They are Good Kids still and they'd stop whatever they were doing to like. help an elderly lady cross the street or something. Still holds true with Teru in the mix. maybe even more.

I’m sorry it’s just really not fucking fair that In THE ACTUAL MOVIE it can imply something between Gwen and Hobie but the SECOND a people started shipping two black boys together then It became a huge fucking problem, here’s the thing If Hobie is actually older and they never say that in the movie but imply something to the audience that him and a sixteen year old girl could possibly have something between them THEN THATS GROSS I DONT CARE HOW GOOD THE MOVIE IS! But Hobie is always a teenager, in other crossovers and his comics he is around 16, he has met miles before in canon the ships not new it was just small, I hate that every single fandom I try to enjoy now has this fucking problem It’s totally okay if you don’t like a ship but just say you don’t vibe with it and move on for the love of god

Miss me with the “bucktommy fans infantilize buck” bullshit because that nonsense existed long before s7 aired. I have thousands of buddie fics bookmarked and I can honestly say that I’ve read a good majority of what’s on ao3. That means I’ve come across Those lawsuit fics (you know what I’m talking about) and all of the fics that manage to center buck as the victim of many scenarios that had nothing to do with him. Let’s not forget the collection of buddie fics that had the most vile racist shit in the aftermath of 5x04 and the ones that have eddie abusing buck for no reason other than to make him some uwu victim.

And just to be very clear, the infantilization of buck took center stage when a bunch of people decided to clutch their pearls over the dinner scene in 7x10 when this man has a history of stealing municipal vehicles to fuck and having semi-public sex on the regular. No one started screaming/crying/throwing up when he very much admitted to his own sister that he uses cock rings, but the second tommy’s name entered the chat a lot of y’all lost all common sense.

Even in the last damn episode people were lashing out at tommy AND eddie for not babying buck to their satisfaction. The majority of that wasn’t coming from the bucktommy side of the fandom, folks. Are there a few bucktommy shippers that do/say/write awful shit? Yeah. But unless you as a buddie shipper are willing to take responsibility for every single rancid take in the buddie tag both here and on ao3, I’d suggest that you stop trying to lay generalizations on the entire bucktommy fandom and expecting us to do what you won’t.

tumblr algorithm stop feeding me takes that this show is just a silly goofy comedy that shouldn’t include death or that Izzy is the token disabled elder queer on the show where an actual disabled elder queer is literally the romantic lead or that Lucius and Pete being called “mateys” is diluting their gayness because it’s not “husbands” or that it’s sexist that Zheng lost her fleet and later prioritized her love for a man or that Ed is Izzy’s abuser because we conveniently forgot all of season 1 or that trauma is never followed through with because sometimes actions are used instead of words or that Ed learned nothing because the inn was apparently a whim as if he hasn’t been obsessing over retirement from day 1 I swear did we even watch the same show?? I literally feel like I’m in backwards land?

I have a really novel concept for y’all complaining about character’s arcs not being fully resolved or healed and that’s called there is supposed to be another season of this show

I also have another really novel concept as to why every single character did not have a one on one trauma apology session and so much time was spent on Ed and Stede and that is because this is literally the Ed and Stede show and also sometimes parallels are meant to be inferred and extrapolated because that is what efficient storytelling does instead of spoonfeeding you

And my most novel concept of all as to why some beloved characters had less screen time is because Max is a massive jerk and cut the budget

Y’all this wasn’t personal and maybe this show was never about Izzy maybe the show called our flag means death is actually about death maybe sad does not equal homophobic letdown maybe the brown gay character introduced as the love interest from day 1 gets to outlive the angry white guy that had a redemption arc after actively bullying and trying to break up every gay couple for a season I don’t know what to tell you just can you please let non-white people have this arc for once without assuming it’s an attack on you I’m BEGGING y’all

While I do love the meta and discussions this show has stirred up, I do think that there are alot of fans of the show that are in a constant state of over intellectualizing the content to the point where it loses it’s integrity as simply just a story that is being told. I definitely think that analysis and critique of media is definitely important, but please don’t get so wrapped up that you forget to enjoy what is actually playing out in front of you as a whole. At the end of the day, it’s a journey from point a to b and a story is being told. You spend too much time trying to consume and chew and chew and chew and suck every bit of flavor you can get, you’ll have forgotten the actual taste when the meal is done. What a waste 🤷🏻‍♂️
