A List of Gender Terms !
So I disappeared for 2 months, but I finally completed this project! :D (Though I've been making some random posts talking about it, so it's not like I was really gone, or what I was working on wasn't obvious.)
It started off as me having trouble keeping track of a couple gender terms (and also not knowing they existed before, since I've never really seen people talk about them), then I thought I should make a list, and if I was going to do that I might as well post it to help other people too. Which I started out trying to make that list on Tumblr, but I found it too limiting so I moved to google docs, which I also found too limiting (I just couldn't achieve my vision, if you will), and now I know html and css.
As usual, I kinda overdid it, but I think I should be a little proud of myself. I had 0 knowledge of html and css, and 2 months later I've made my own website. (I could have made it much quicker, but I often had to take breaks, a bit overwhelmed by all that new stuff.)
Anyways, it has a ton of terms on there.
I have sections for nonbinary, abinary, midbinary, atrinary, midtrinary, androgyne, agender, neutrois, maverique, ilyagender, aporagender, outherine, kenochoric, and xenogender.
For 7 categories (sex terms, adult, general term, child, gender quality, gender-quality-in-nature genders, and spectrum / -iagender spectrum).
And they all have sources on both Archive Today, Wayback Machine, and if still existing, the original post too. (At least to the best of my abilities, and there are a couple of exceptions that I couldn't figure out.)
I did put effort into this, but it's possible I missed something. So if I made a mistake anywhere, or if anyone has any extra information to add on, or if you just have some comments, you can tell me. My ask box is open, but comments on this post would probably be fine too.
Also, I checked on a couple of different browsers, mobile too, and read up on web accessibility and checked and all that (I tried using a screen reader, I'm not a pro at it though, so it's possible I may have missed something obvious), so I hope the website itself is useable. But if there's any bugs there, just tell me (it'll be appreciated).
I'm also thinking of making another compilation, but for flags (for all of the terms listed here), and maybe orientations too, but maybe later haha
I also don't know how to write a image id for the top picture, if anyone wants to write to one I'll add it.
-
Below the cut is a short little video scrolling through the site.

i've seen many articles talking about trans men and trans women and just using their pronouns, but when they write a nonbinary person, they almost always seem to write "[name], who uses they/them pronouns".
this is exorsexism.
why are you talking about us differently than other trans people in a way that is unnecessary? what's keeping you from just saying their name, maybe that they're nonbinary if it's relevant, and just use their pronouns rather than announcing them? why are we yet again being singled out like that? it emphasises us yet again as "the other", even compared to binary trans people.

Non-binary is an umbrella term.
It feels like a lot of people forget that non-binary is an umbrella term for anyone that is not strictly a binary man or binary woman.
Yes, it can be used as a lone identity, and people don't have to call themselves non-binary if they'd rather use their more specific label under the non-binary umbrella, but it doesn't really make much sense to us when people say they are "not non-binary" while also having a non-binary gender. Its like saying you are omnisexual, but not m-spec.
It seems some people even in the queer community itself are under the impression that non-binary is synonymous with androgyne or neutrois, when thats really not the case.
Fenby, galby, lunarian, menby, enboy, solarian - its all non-binary.
Androgyne, neugender, neufem, neumasc, neuwoman, neuman, neuandrogyne, neuaporine, neuxenine, neutrois, agender, gendervoid, genderless, maverique, aporagender, stellarian, outherine - its all non-binary.
Xenogenders, aesthetigenders, noungenders - its all non-binary.
Multigenders, bigender, trigender, quadgender, quintgender, hexagender, septagender, octagender, enneagender, decagender, pangender, genderfluid, mutogender - its all non-binary.
Genderflux, girlflux, femflux, mascflux, boyflux, androgyneflux, neuflux, neutroisflux, agenderflux, maveriqueflux, aporaflux, outherineflux, xenoflux - its all non-binary.
Demigender, demigirl, demifem, duskian/demilunarian, demiboy, demimasc, dawnian/demisolarian, demiandrogyne, demineutral, demineutrois, demiagender, demimaverique, demiaporine, celestian/demistellarian, demioutherine, demix/demixenogender, demifluid, demiflux - its all non-binary.
A lot of people seem to separate these genders from the spectrum, and as a result, misinform people about what non-binary means, and water down its meaning until its hardly comprehensible. Its counterintuitive to turn a catch-all term into a singular conceptual gender. It is not a word for one singular type of gender.

Pride paintings part 2/2
part 1 here
worked on these from mid Feb to early March. I enjoyed the process a lot but would be lying if I said I didn't start to feel sick of how repetitive the process of painting these canvases had become. As a result I made less gender pride magnets that originally planned, but I still made 10 so I still feel pretty accomplished :-)

Hello!
Everyone under the trans and nonbinary umbrella is beautiful.
Everyone who doesn't fit the binary or standard definitions or labels is beautiful.
Everyone who is unsure about their gender is beautiful.
Everyone who experiences gender in a non-traditional way is beautiful.
Everyone who doesn't identify with gender at all is beautiful.
Everyone who wants a label but can't find one is beautiful.
Everyone whose label is not widely recognized in any community is beautiful.
Everyone who identifies with labels in a non-traditional way is beautiful.
Everyone who prefers not to have a label is beautiful.
Everyone who doesn't fit in with any of the above is beautiful.
❤️
That is all I have to say for now.
I love you!

We got something in our inbox today and it was someone lying about us to our face. Who hurt you so badly you feel the need to do that?
They've been duly blocked and reported, which means we've gotten more motivation to make stimboards lol. :p
Crystalboy or Boycrystal - a gender connected to crystals and being a boy. this can be a boy who is formed from crystals, a boy who likes crystals, etc.

howdy! I have a question. So, I recently discovered I was non-binary, and using she/they wasn't cutting it anymore.
I use they/them, but also neopronouns? I just hate binary pronouns (she/her and he/him). is there a name for this?
As well, I am comfortable with the terms "girlfriend" (romantically)
and "madame" and "sir". but really that's it for more "binary" terms. is this still being non-binary?
I'm not sure about terms, but I think you could say that you use they/(any) neos. I'd recommend having a look at some terms like aporagender, neutrois, maverique, xenogender, outherine, transneutral, and agender if you are interested :) But yes, as long as your experience of gender is outside of the traditional gender binary, then you are under the nonbinary umbrella. Hope this helps and if anyone knows more about this, please let me know <3

Genderseraphitch
Genderseraphitch is a subset of genderseraph, a xenogender that feels like how an otherworldly being would experience gender. It is both androgynous and genderless in nature, though the connection to both masculinity and femininity is completely different than how humans experience these concepts.
The androgynous and genderless aspects are influenced by a connection to the deepest parts of the earth, natural forces, instinctual knowledge and life cycles. An interpretation of this would be experiencing gender as it would be felt by an otherworldly being which has been housed in our natural plane for longer than mortal consciousness has existed, making the being intrinsically linked with our natural cycles and spirits while still existing outside of them or our understanding of them.
Like genderseraph, those with this gender can best describe it as ethereal, vast, and divine, however these elements are also accompanied with an innate apprehension. It could be described as the intrinsic knowledge one is born with on what is natural vs unnatural, human vs inhuman, living vs inanimate, etc. It could also refer to the distinct feeling one gets when there is something present in the same space as them, without being able to physically see it and prove it's existence.
This could also apply to kingender individuals whose kintype is associated with being incomprehensible, immortal, angelic and/or eldritch in nature.
The green and beige stripes represent the connection to the Earth and its cycles, the white stripe represents the otherworldly and unknowable nature of both the gender and individual, the pale blue represents the water cycle upon the Earth, and the de-saturated purple stripes represent the connection to being both genderless and androgynous, to varying degrees.
Creator's Note
This term was one that I actually made back in 2021 on the original LGBTA wiki before some terms were purged and management changed hands multiple times. Since the original coining, Genderseraph has been wiped from the wiki and, to my memory and current knowledge, had never been recorded anywhere outside LGBTA. Due to this, I have altered zero wording from my original post in order to preserve my intentions at the time, as I do recall it was to add in my personal kintype associations on top of the original term. Additionally, the flag above is a new, updated version created today with intentional flag coloring. The original flag I submitted for the term, featured on LGBTA here, was a color adjusted flag from the original Genderseraph page. Since it's been so long I do not have the flag that I took from or have any information about the original creator, so deepest apologies. If I'd known the site would nuke the original term, I would have looked into archiving it back when I was coining.

✦ multioutherine can also be called multiouman / multioune / polyoutherine / polyouman / polyoune / etc. ✦ multikenochoric can also be called multiomen / multihex / polykenochoric / polyomen / polyhex / etc. ✦ multixenogender can also be called multixenan / multixip / polyxenogender / polyxenan / polyxip / etc.
I listed some examples, but other terms can be used too, as long as they have the same / similar meaning (e.g. multiaphorian instead of multiabinary).
Though I wrote them all as single terms, I suppose they can called multigender [term] and polygender [term] too (e.g. multigender enban instead of multienban). The short forms are just what I thought of first, but upon thinking about it more, I don't see why the longer names wouldn't work too.
You could also shorten them if you want (e.g. multixeno instead of multixenogender).
-✦
Also, I think these terms can include a lot of different experiences (any combination of multigender/polygender and the specific gender label listed), so I won't be listing specific definitions.
For the flags, I followed a format of having multigender stripes on top (dark blue, lighter blue, and orange), with the respective gender's stripes on the bottom. Specifically, I used this multigender flag edit (by @isobug) for the colours (same main colours as the original, just with nicer contrast).
The other flags referenced as just the most common ones (mainly). I did make a second version using an alt nonbinary flag (second flag in the post). I also used my (alt) midbinary, abinary, atrinary, midtrinary, trinary, and aporagender flags.
Depending on the original flag, I combined the top colour with the bottom multigender orange stripe, if they're similar enough visually (like the orange in nonbinary (second flag)). The multigender blue colours were edited a bit, to fit better with the other colours. And for some of them, I simplified the colours, they have as many stripes as in the original flag.
Special mention multitrinary and multiandrogyne, I went with a different style mimicking the original flags. Trinary used diagonal stripes, so I used diagonal stripes on the side here too. Same with androgyne, but with vertical stripes. For the trinary/androgyne colours that are already similar to the multigender colours (so blue and grey), I combined them into the 3 horizontal multigender stripes, and put the rest off to the side. It's a lot like what I did in my butch/futch/femme/+ flags (not that these are butch/futch/femme flags). I just think it's a unique format, and I like how it flows.
↓ Others (not made by me):
✦ multibinary flag (by @autodeicide) ✦ alternative multibinary flag (by @revenant-coining) ✦ polyandrogyne, polyagender, and polyxenogender flags (by @kalliepride) ✦ polyagender / multiagender / panagender coining and flag (by @moone-just-existing) ✦ polyagender flag ✦ polyxenogender / polyxenic coining(?) and flag
↓ If you're looking for neutrois and maverique versions:
✦ multineutrois coining(?) and flag (by @beyond-mogai-pride-flags) ✦ multineutrois redesigned flag (by @your-bigender-big-brother) ✦ multimaverique coining(?) and flag (by @beyond-mogai-pride-flags)

welcome to this is exorsexism.
this is an account to highlight exorsexism, so that more people learn to recognise it when it's happening and we can fight it better.
what happens here is that i will post examples of exorsexism here as i encounter it, as well as submitted examples. this can be stories of exorsexism of offline or online exorsexism. if not immediately clear, i may provide an explanation of how something is exorsexist.
this is also a safe space for nonbinary people to vent or rant about exorsexism.
you can submit exorsexism you encountered to me via submissions or asks. if you send a screenshot of someone being exorsexist, please make sure to crop or censor any identifying information such as their username and profile picture. this account is for educational purposes and for nonbinary people to vent their experiences, not to send harassment to anyone.
exorsexism from within nonbinary and wider transgender communities is also welcome as that too needs awareness.
not sure if something you want to submit counts as exorsexism? submit it anyway and we can talk about it. and if you think your exorsexism experience isn't "bad enough" to be submitted: yes, it is.
credit where credit is due: this account is very much inspired by @exorsexistbullshit who sadly hasn't been active in going on 5 years, as well as casualableism on instagram.
submission rules:
since this is a blog to highlight a form of bigotry and oppression that also often intersects with other forms of oppression, a "no bigotry" rule doesn't make sense here. however, being bigoted towards bigots is not welcome here. this includes calling bigots or bigotry -phobic (i.e. "homophobia"), narcissistic, delusional, lame, blind, cr*zy, st*pid and more.
the key difference here is whether you are quoting bigotry you have encountered or whether you're being bigoted as well.
i am multiply disabled and we don't do that kind of thing here, so if i ignored your ask or blocked you, that's probably why.
what is exorsexism?
in short, exorsexism is the oppression of and bigotry against nonbinary people. it is essentially sexism directed at nonbinary people. furthermore, it also includes the hatred of anything heavily associated with nonbinary people, like certain pronouns. exorsexism ranges from the erasure of nonbinary people to outright hostility. there are many different kinds of exorsexism as there are many different kinds of exorsexism. exorsexism affects the whole range of nonbinary gender identities, including but not limited to agender, multigender, genderfluid, aporagender & xenogender people, as well as androgynes, nonbinary men & nonbinary women.
here's an incomplete list of examples of exorsexism:
- nonbinary erasure, not just erasure of all nonbinary people, but also of more specific gender identities
- forcing nonbinary people into the gender binary or creating new gender-related binaries to force us into (e.g. amab/afab, masc/fem, men/non-men, cis/trans)
- thinking gender can't be fluid
- thinking everyone has to have a gender
- thinking nonbinary identities are new, a trend, a choice, a phase or a way to try and be special
- erasing exorsexism as a specific form of oppression
- thinking nonbinary people have to look a certain way
- centring binary people & experiences in communities that have historically included us
- mocking they, it and neopronouns
- thinking that "everyone is a bit nonbinary"/reducing nonbinaryhood to gender nonconformity
- thinking nonbinary people are just deviations from binary genders, i.e. men & women lite
