more referential terms for my neogender umbrellas!

before i start, i want to say that 'younger' and 'older' in these definitions are intentionally vague! just as a twenty-something may call themselves a boy/girl, a parent may call their minor child a young man/woman, an adult may refer to their friends as 'the boys/girls', etc., these terms are not strictly intended to refer to minors and legal adults.

aurethesia:

the general term, coined in the original aurethesia post, is reth, and the plural is rethi. reth is simply a shortening of aurethesia.

the word for a younger reth is roa, which is derived from the word 'aurora'. the plural is roae.

the word for an older reth is eoan, a word meaning 'of the dawn', which was derived from the name of the greek goddess of the dawn, eos (her roman counterpart is aurora). the plural is eoans.

tenethesia:

the general term, coined in the original tenethesia post, is teth, and the plural is tethi. teth is simply a shortening of tenethesia.

the word for a younger teth is tae, which is derived from latin 'tenebrae', meaning 'darkness'. the plural is taen.

the word for an older teth is stro, which is derived from 'astro', which itself is derived from 'aster', which astraeus, the name of the greek god of dusk, is also derived from. plural is stroes.

once i realized that aurora, roman goddess of the dawn, had a greek counterpart, eos, who had a husband who was the god of the dusk, i decided to use eos and astraeus as inspiration for the older aurethesia and tenethesia terms. i feel like they fit together nicely!

comuniterm:

the general term, coined in the original comuniterm post, is niol, and the plural is niolae. it comes from 'neolabel' and 'liom'.

the word for a younger niol is rai, which comes from 'resident' and 'mogai'. the plural is raien.

the word for an older niol is hom, which comes from 'inhabitant' and 'liom'/'mogai'). the plural is homs.

i used 'resident' and 'inhabitant' as inspiration for rai and hom since there's not really an english word that specifically means 'member of a community', but terms for those who live in an area are close enough in my mind!

wevaranet:

the general term, coined in the original wevaranet post, is rane, and the plural is ranae. it comes from 'araneae', the order of spiders.

the word for a younger rane is ret, which comes from 'spideret', a young spider. 'et' also gives similarity to 'marionette'. the plural is rets.

the word for an older rane is pule, from 'manipule', the old french root of the word 'manipulate'. the plural is pulae.

sylvaencan:

the general term, coined in the original sylvaencan post, is sylv, and the plural is sylven. it comes from latin 'silva'/'sylva', meaning 'forest'.

the word for a younger sylv is aun, from middle english 'enchaunten', meaning 'enchant'. the plural is aunae.

the word for an older sylv is nem, from latin 'nemus', meaning 'grove'. the plural is nemi.

A/N- Day 18 (oops still behind) Inspired By: This Post- By Ask-Egon Spengler

Being on call at the firehouse may not be ideal, for the lack of privacy, but it really was nice to spend some extra time with the guys. Egon in particular. Peter had a date with Dana tonight, and Winston and Ray had the night off so it was just you and Egon. That hadn’t happened in weeks, let alone since you started dating. You’d only gone on two dates, but you definitely had a lot of hope about the relationship. You really liked him, and he found you easy to love– something you rarely thought about yourself. 

Tonight though, you had nothing in particular to do since you didn’t have any calls and Egon just had one trial to run in his latest experiment then you could have a little date night of your own. You got a movie to watch, so you decided to curl up on the couch while you waited. 

About a half hour later, Egon finally came up. He quickly said hello to you before excusing himself to change into something more comfortable. Well, comfortable for him– He got out of his lab wear and put on a sweater over his favorite button-up and a different pair of dress pants. 

You hadn’t fully crossed the touch barrier with Egon yet. You hadn’t been together long, and he wasn’t a fan of a lot of touch. You gave him hugs in passing, even a kiss on the cheek when you were saying goodbye, but you fully expected him to sit just out of reach when you were watching the movie. Yet he sat close, so you could reach out for him if you wanted, and he leaned towards you ever so slightly, and you did the same towards him. But neither of you reached out to fully touch. 

About halfway through the movie, Wvin started bouncing his leg. He did that a lot, if he was nervous or just particularly focused, but he never realized he was doing it until someone brought it up. Usually that person being Peter or Winston, once he started shaking half the furniture by accident. Without thinking you put your hand right on his thigh to get him to stop. Like so many had done to you— to varying reactions— and you did it without even thinking. 

You hadn’t even realized what you’d done, fully breaking the touch barrier until Egon’s leg stopped bouncing and he turned to look at you. You looked down at your own hand as if it betrayed you, before quickly snatching it back. 

“Oh my god I’m so sorry— I just— I didn’t even think about it.” 

“Why are you apologizing, I appreciate it, I didn’t realize I was bouncing my leg.”

“Well I didn’t mean to–touch–you? I guess? I don’t know, I know you don’t really like excessive touch.”

“Well, thank you but I don’t mind your touch. Quite the opposite actually.” He cleared his throat at the beginning and end of the sentence, and it was that nervous tick that got you to actually believe him. He wasn’t just saying that for your benefit, and at the sentiment your brain was gone. Just gone— you couldn’t think of anything to say or do,

you were so happy. 

“Oh. Ok then” you pushed yourself closer to him, finally closing the distance between you to lay your head on his shoulder. It was admittedly a bit awkward, but nevertheless comforting.

To absolutely no one's surprise, Vincenzo had never been one for the grandeur and opulence of the awards. The Italian's appearance at the event itself had been mostly for show; proof that they were there and they weren't going to live in the shadows. The fact that they'd been nominated for several categories - and his own individual ones, was proof that they'd already left some semblance of a mark. Luckily; both awards were given in tandem to Gio and Giordi which inevitably saved him from having to weather the expectation of flaunting some gaudy award on his own.

On Gianna's approach, he almost leveled her with a warning glance, knowing that if she wasn't willing to out herself as a prospective Sovrani, then spending too much time around them would be questionable - however, he trusted her to already know this. "I'd have bought you one earlier," because of course he'd noticed her, something about the woman put him relatively at ease, "but you seemed to be preoccupied. You'll have to introduce me to your date." Not only so he could inevitably vet the man - Vincenzo ever protective of the women in his life, but because the familiarity of the man's features didn't slip by him. "And you're only getting a few drinks out of me if you promise to never mention these awards around Gio and Giordi. I think it'll get to their heads."

It was an impressive showing from the Italians given their limited presence in London thus far. Whilst most didn’t take the awards too seriously, or at least they would say as much if asked, it was an important gauge of public opinion and influence, and that couldn’t be denied. They had every right to be pleased. Particularly with the knowledge that next year, they would undoubtedly do even better. Who didn’t love a good upset?

Gianna had mostly kept to the company of her date during the ceremony itself, but now they had a private after party to enjoy, people would ask fewer questions should he be seen with somebody like her. When she noted he’d parted ways with Giorgio, she took a chance to steal five minutes with the Italian leader before he returned to the more…impressive half of the party’s guest list.

2019 New Music Awards Winners

day 14 of @radiomogai’s 1k coining event, ‘the web’! there wasn't a web neogender umbrella, so i figured why not coin one? i'll post flags for wvin(gender), transwev, and netaeic soon!

the term (and derived terms) comes from 'weven' (middle english for 'to weave'), 'araneae' (order made up of spiders), and 'marionette'.

the flag is supposed to sort of look like a spiderweb without having a ton of tiny lines everywhere, since i didn't want it to be super cluttered, and uses colors i associate with the web and its connected concepts. here's the template if anyone wants to coin webens!

Cronus's true love for Kankri

in a temporal spaceship there were trolls of every blood caste but a particular one was having problems in those long space days, for unknown reasons the scene of their first fight was not shown, but only a troll that had been walking for hours to regroup there emotions had his name was Cronus Ampora and he had just had a fight with kankri in front of all their friends. start repeating the words that another troll had said, "y9u think 6eing dirty 6l99d is en9ugh t9 6e nice and act like an idi9t wvhen wvhat y9u d9 is the 9ther wvay ar9und! wvhen y9u get angry y9u act like s9me r9yalty!" he tried to imitate the speech but it was too difficult. however, reasoning in the words he was right, he did not know how to behave with dirty blood he was doing it only for something unknown but he did not understand what.

after a while he stopped hearing a slight cry in a room isolated from everyone, I peek at who it was from the porthole of the door realizing that it was kankri who had taken refuge, his pride told him to leave him alone but inside he wanted to solve this problem of theirs, not realizing that his body had already begun to open the room by being caught by the sad troll.

in fact as expected kankri turned around taking off his red tears, he believed that it was one of the humans who had taken them from the planet, but it was only cronus who was undecided whether or not to enter the room until kankri did not speak first.

Kankri: Cr9nus I'm n9t in the m99d f9r an9ther fight.

Cronus: I wvas taking a wvalk I did not think I wvould find you here honestly...

Cronus approaches leaving the door to close alone decided to speak ha kankri peacefully, even if he felt a little agitated I try to contain the emotion in front of him.

Cronus: yes really kanny, I wvas an idiot maybe you wvere right in your wvords or maybe you wvere not right, you don't knowv 100% me right? Hahahah

the two trolls of different castes looked at each other in the silence that is created by the affirmation of Cronus, neither of them knew what they had to say to each other or how to resolve that little flare of anger that they had created in front of everyone including how to resolve between them, something that they don't know in their culture. then Cronus saw that Kankri was staring at the space that had made a great shade of red and purple looking so messy but harmonious together after that long silence kankri resumed speaking with Cronus.

Cronus: do not force me to make you fall forwvard vwantas, i wvill be real but i am taller than you.

after a while Cronus sat down next to him pretending not to look at the ridiculous pajamas he wore vantas, gazing into the spectacular galaxy of colors he displayed, but Kankri asked the sea guest a question.

Cronus: actually I wvanted to do it but I thought, maybe it wvasn't so useless for wvhat I said before.

Cronus: you use it to spoil our hearing to correct us in our triggering words and I thought you could use it to pick me up but maybe it doesn't havwe much of a sexy effect on the ladies of the ship, including the human ones.

from that statement kankri began to laugh not stopping how stupid was that answer of the sea dweller making his face light red, but he did not notice that Cronus turned purple in the face as if, he found pleasant that laugh so spontaneous and true in their conversation.
