I been reading some amount about Yukon 🤨 I think he could be indigenous, maybe mixed. Mm yeha I did change his design, tho I still wanna think of him as quite stocky built, his hair is simply in ponytail cuz I wanted it to represent the Yukon River; also I wanted to put more emphasis on the fireweed flower for him n all that (territorial flower symbol, also cultural importance)

Some canadian headcanon cause yukon headcanon will be posted tomorrow:

British Columbia, Washington and Oregon know eachother mainly because of the PNW climate (the El Niño or La Niña video)

They go hiking sometime, when BC isn't chilling in her corner.

BC and Alaska are ~friends~; he's kind of grateful for letting Alaskans coming back in the state driving through BC, even tho they couldn't stop at all during Covid.

Montana and the west twins (Alberta and Saskatchewan) go to rodeos and they love horses.

Yukon and Alaska are friends, and can be in eachother presences for hours without saying anything while they're fishing/hunting.

Northwest territories is the oldest of the siblings in the country and the mom friend. He cares for everyone, and nobody has anything against him.

Newfoundland is like a cousin to the other maritimes, being the oldest with Nova Scotia, but they never really interacted when they were colonies.

PEI, despite his age, looks the youngest (Yeah, he's a little bitter about it)

Nunavut is autistic and an introvert. Doesn't like people, hate cities, but try to help his communities as he can (trying to fight the lack of healthcare workers and teachers)

New Brunswick never shut up and can't take hint most of the time (it makes Maine a little crazy). Québec just smiles and listen to him, cause I am she's like that.

Manitoba is a loner, and a "don't fuck with me 'cause you'll find me" kind of attitude.

Wttt/Wttsh weak 1, dogs

States that have some kind of state dog have those dogs. For example Alaska has a Alaskan malamute (not his only dog but😛),Texas has a blue lacy, and Louisiana has a Catahoula Leopard Dog. I think most states have some kind of pet, some are service animals or ESA’s. Maine 100% has a Maine coon, if he doesn’t, I think I’ll cry. Actually, it would be kind of cool if he also owns a Norwegian forest cat or Siberian forest cat too.

Jumping off the states and moving to Canada, I think this also goes with the Canadian provinces. The three provinces in Canada that have a “province dog” would be Nunavut, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador. The first two are in my opinion some of the most fun words to say because they make my little accent come out and play. Nunavut’s province dog would be the Canadian Inuit Dog also called the Qimmiq/ ᕿᒻᒥᖅ(I hope I did that right I’m very sorry if I didn’t). Nova Scotia’s is the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, my favourite retriever, because it’s like if a golden retriever and an Australian Shepard had a child who loves to scream. Newfoundland and Labrador, is well the Newfoundland dog and a Labrador retriever. Now I wanna add something. Yukon probably has an Alaskan malamute as on its coat of arms it has one. It wouldn’t shock me if the Northwest Territories has huskies and Alaskan malamutes. Also, Yukon definitely has some huskies too. A small question for my Canadian friends is whether your guys' province Mace's are like our Mace of the Republic. Like if somebody’s bad, do they get beat up with your Ceremonial Mace?

Wttt Alaska head canons, by an Alaskan (and someone with a hobby in international diplomacy)

Alaska has a, working relationship with Japan, and Canada. Since companies from them own a lot of the mines here.

Alaska also has 1 (one) friend other than Hawai'i. That being Peurto Rico. They go back to the 1920s, when Ernest Greuning ran PR's schools before coming to Alaska. Wherever PR gets hit by a Hurricane, Alaska is there to help clean up the mess

PR views Alaska as a sort of, older Brother. (Even though PR had been Colonized earlier, and has more people than AK.)

Alaska also has a, rocky, relationship with Russia. That being, Russia wants Alaska back, and Alaska wants nothing to do with Russia.

Alaska does feel sorry for the Siberian Republics in Russia.

The first time he met a Russian City, was when St. Petersburg sold him to the USA.

The last time he saw a Russian City, was when Moscow was "Representing" the USSR during WW2

Alaska actually doesn't mind the large US military presence in his territory. Sure he can handle drunks, idiots, bears and the like. But if Russia came calling? He wouldn't be able to fight him off alone.

However, when everyone thought Hawai'i was going to be nuked, he had to be held back by Texas, California, and the Entire eastern Seaboard, Plus the Yukon Territory (who was visiting at the time) from singlehandedly tearing North Korea into paste.

He gets along decently well with the Yukon and Northern Territories in Canada.

Sometimes he thinks about trying to join Canada. Then he remembers the Canadian Gov's stance on Guns. And he thinks "you know what. I'm good enough here."

If given the chance, Alaska would drop kick Moscow into the sun. Gov be damned.

Alaska also has nukes. And he's very much not afraid to use them. (If the Damn DODad would let him)

More Yukon art… cuz he’s a cool guy I think. Some good wise words he’s got too; “eh whatever, I’m not your mom.” Or “don’t die (optional)” 😌 see? Solid advice and support. Besides gold panning is still sorta a thing thing people do in Alaska and Yukon due to having so many rivers, atleast in Alaska I know it’s more so a hobby/tourist attraction for whoever. I dunno about Yukon 🤷 they seem to be like. Old but modern but also not really modern yknow? Yeahhh

whaat a design of Yukon Territory 🤯🤯 kinda strange I base him more on Alaskan malamutes than I do with Alaska since Ak literally made them himself 🤨 but since Yukon went so far as to put them on his flag I might as well yknow. He has balance issues btw, because something something about wobbly dogs so therefore him too. He yearns for the mines too, since I kept hearing about mining when reading about Yukon. He hates to depend on others btw so he tends to be extra prepared when doing anything so he doesn’t have to make multiple trips. He’s honestly an interesting fella, so I’m gonna read more about Yukon again

It’s a tough life out there being the Land of the Midnight Sun smh…

He does this with every exotic animal he comes across big trust me 🙏 big trust. Ngl I did kinda base him off an old man I met in Chicken, Alaska, that watched over me and my siblings without my parents knowing who he was cuz they were too busy, but he taught us how to gold pan and later gave us our own pan and some gold he got himself; he’s rough lookin but he was really nice, I hope he’s still living his best life out there

Also Yukon’s not mad, he kinda rarely ever is, his face just looks like that, in fact I’d choose to believe he’s more in touch with his emotions than the northeast states due to spending so much time by himself

Northern northwest trio, I will not explain why they are a trio (actually I will, they all have ungodly similar geographies/landscapes, the Alaska Highway runs thru all three of them, the Yukon River runs thru two of them, and they call share a lot of the same or similar cultures, despite that Alaska is serperate from them via country they are pretty tightly bound together, also I love them all)

Silly goofy guys , Yukon is based on the Alaskan Malamute cause the malamute is on their flag, Bc is based on a lion mane jellyfish cause they’re mostly populated around the trio and Washington also looking at their flag makes me think of jellyfish, my girly designed him btw, and Alaska is. Alaska. Maybe built like a bear, his flag does technically have a flag in it, and it’s described to be The Great Bear by Benny Benson himself

Yukon (Headcanon)

Yukon, smallest territory with the biggest population of the three of them (40,232 in 2021). The capital is whitehorse, which is also the biggest city grouping more than half of the population (28,201 in 2021) of all the three territories. Because of the importance of native culture in the territory, I headcanon that they are bi-spiritual and use they/them pronouns.

They appeared in 1895 with the first recognizable local government. Before becoming a territory in 1898, the land was a part of the Northwest Territory managed by the Hudson bay company, so Yukon, Northwest and Nunavut are siblings, with North being the oldest and Nunavut the youngest.

They are less alone than the other territories; they interact with the west provinces; especially since the Alcan highway was built. They’re friendly and nice, but don’t reall engage with the others. They can spend weeks in the wilderness without North, the twins or BC hearing from them (they are sometimes with Alaska too). Though they will side with the West if you instult them.

They spend time with Alberta when she comes to them, or she takes them hunting with Saskatchewan, usually up in the mountains. For their temperature, in winter they stay between -40°C/-40°F and -13°C/8.6°F, more in the lower --20°C/-4°F during the day. In summer, they get warmer temperature, up to 25°C/77°F and more.

Physically, they have native traits (like the other territories and Manitoba). Yukon has more almond eyes with heterochromia (blue and green, like his flag) and glossy black hair in a wolf cut. They’re taller (5’11) than California (5’10) and have furred leather jacket with an ushanka with the flap tied on their head. They usually wear a t-shirt with a malamute dog on it, dark pants and furred boots.

Here they are, smallest territory. Don’t underestimate them; living in the wild with some of the best natural views seem like paradise to many people.

OKAY sometimes I like to draw some freaky fellas. But this is Antarctica in me and my gf’s world B) he’s based on Antarctic krill and I recently got inspired by bobbit worms cuz they’re strange! They’re a morally gray character cuz, well, there’s not much people in Antarctica other than scientists I guess u_u

Antarctica is also mute, but can do sign language, both tactile and not!
