Your tmnt au meeting Monkey kid and the gang?

I think you're talking about my 2012 TMNT designs? Which I understand, theyre really far from canon HELPP but they're not really an au 😭 or they were never really meant to be. Anyways I have a lot of thoughts and I could explain why I picked each character and paired them up with each other and if I can I'll definitely draw the rest of them!!

I'll explain right now why I paired Mei with Donnie and Tang with April

First and foremost though,

With that out of the way I'll start with why I paired Mei and Donnie. I like to think that Mei is a super good builder and tbh, this is actually pretty canon. We see her rebuild her bike in S1 Ep 3 and in S1 Ep1 she's also the one who builds their secret fortress which is INCREDIBLY made. With this information in mind it can be quick to assume Mei is a pretty good mechanic! In S3 of 2012 TMNT we know that Casey and Donnie spend a lot of time in the small barn out back working on stuff both seperately and at times together! While I do think Casey can understand some of the tech jargon Donnie talks about (as long as it relates to car parts) I don't think Casey can really understand the technical stuff. I think Casey's knowledge probably comes from self taught experience, as a result he can identify each part and what they do but not the technical terms for them and professional blueprints for things and stuff. Which is why I think Donnie would be absolutely ecstatic to have someone able to read his work!! And like I said earlier Mei is really good with tech as we see a lot in the earlier seasons before they delved hard into mystic magic and stuff. I would have paired Mei with Casey but I have other ideas grrr!!! If people are interested I'll explain more.

Moving on to why I paired Tang with April! I kinda rewrote April a lot HELP I think her writing had a lot of problems so I just changed stuff lol. I like to think that the reason April tried so hard to prove herself and stuff was because she doesn't want to be useless. I feel like she gets sorta babies a lot (mainly by her father) and it makes her want to overachieve to prove a point, prove that she's grown and that she's perfectly capable of handling herself. The problem though is the years of fighting experience she lacks. In a normal situation April can 100% take care of herself but in ones where she faces opponents with a lifetime's experience in combat versus her measily 1 and a half years the difference is huge. And on top of this April has to figure out her psychic powers, which in S4 literally blew up in her face. I just think she struggles with feeling inadequate, when she does something she wants to be the best and it's hard for her to feel like she has a place in the team when everyone else seems not to struggle the way she does in battle. She just tends to forget the difference in fighting experience even though they're all the same age. Anyways, being unsure of ur worth on the team and struggling with your powers seems like it would be right up Tang's alley!! Tang in S3 Ep8 has a huge tipping point where we see he struggles with self doubt and feeling like he isn't needed. Then later when he discovers he has powers he struggles to control them and get them to do what he wants. I think Tang reassuring April is just a really nice gesture!! Especially since Tang and April are like the most human out of the rest of the group (excluding Casey but he struggles in a different way). I think in a group full of spectacular talents, it's easy to feel ordinary which is a thought I think plagues Tang and April's minds while their characters develop. I tried to keep this short so I hope it makes sense ahhh if you're still reading you're totally awesome and cool!!!

like it starts with him sneaking into the dungeons and leading them out the night before their execution but making sure he has an alibi for the night just in case (it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t tbh arthur will be there to explain how his dimwitted manservant could never pull this off)

then gradually he doesn’t even wait until it’s night (working for gaius and for arthur is hard and that doesn’t even account for his job as arthur’s secret protector - he has no time)

there’s a scene where some evil magic user tries to assassinate arthur but merlin finds out and

merlin: if i may ask, why are you trying to kill arthur

evil magic user: BECAUSE OF THE EVILS HIS FATHER HAS PLAGUED THIS LAND WITH

merlin: ah but you’re not killing his father, you’re killing arthur

evil magic user: I AM STOPPING UTHER’S BLOOD FROM CONTINUING TO POISON MORE AND MORE PEOPLE

merlin: well that’s not really fair to arthur, is it? your anger is understandable but arthur is not his father, it would be unfair to damn him for his father’s sins. instead if we show arthur that magic is not evil, he will know his father’s ways were wrong

i like to think of Gray as person practically everybody ends up really liking, and a total cat magnet.

And dragon slayers r just big cats. So Gray already had close friendships with them

so when they realized ‘holy shit hes like us now’ their protective instincts went in overdrive

Natsu, Wendy, & Sting didnt even try to hide it; constantly trying to make sure hes comfortable and felt safe and didnt sit alone confused and scared by all these new things he has to deal with

Natsu definitely drags him onto impromptu jobs and fishing trips with Happy, in an effort to get away from people, or just so they can spend time together, the reason is unclear

i think dragon slayers as a whole are like violently touch starved, and thats what Sting focused on mostly.

he would drape himself over Gray when he felt like the other needed or wanted it but wouldnt ask

it helped Gray get more comfortable for sure

Wendy, as a healer and friend, tried to give him every piece of advice she knew, offering remedy after remedy to help ease him into his now heightened senses

Gray tried to explain to them once that his abilities are fairly different from theirs, yes he has heightened senses, but his instincts and needs were a hell of a lot different than theirs; that only spurred them on more, making them try to research everywhere they could about demon slayers

Rogue & Gajeel were more subtle with it (not by much tho), they understood when needed it quiet, when he just wanted company without the talk

If Gray was having a hard time, whether or not it was bc of his slayer magic, Rogue would offer up Frosch and sit with him, offering silence or white noise. whatever he needed

Gajeel probably thought he was subtle but he absolutely was not, like asking Gray if he wants to run errands with him when places theyre at get too sensorially intense

he tried to ask Levy about everything she knew abt demon slayers without being too obvious, when she kept sending him knowing glances he just asked (very resigned) for some books on the matter.

But he made do and probably studied every piece of literature there was on the matter

Most ppl exposure to slayer magic is limited to dragon slayers, who refer to themselves as dragons. so when a demon slayer pops up, the correlation isn’t pretty, and their actions are even worse

While Gray understands people must just scared or confused, so he doesnt blame them; he has a hoard of extremely protective dragons who think differently

Wendy had to be physically restrained by multiple people after she heard people calling Gray a monster

Natsu genuinely considered burning alive someone who refused to pay Gray after he finished up a job

Gray definitely now had scary dog privileges, the dog being every single dragon slayer he knows

Laxus zapping people who so much as look at Gray wrong, or frying whatever electronic (ik its lacrimas but work with me) device they have.

“Look, here’s the thing,” Ray says as he spins the chair around. He drops into it, arms crossed over the back. “I’m rooting for you! Really!”

The man tied to the other chair gives him a dubious look, blond hair falling messily over green eyes. There’s a streak of dried blood down his face. His nose probably isn’t broken, but Ray’s fairly certain it was a near thing. A palm to the face was the fastest way to knock him away from the blade Aster nearly put through his neck. As it is, the cut along his jaw is still bleeding sluggishly.

“My friend out there—”

“We aren’t friends,” Aster interrupts from the other side of the door.

Ray rolls his eyes.

“My associate out there is the one you should be worried about. I’m trying to help you out.”

The man is still glowering.

“I know you don’t believe me,” Ray says, “but the thing is, all that matters is the package. We don’t have to kill you if you just tell us what we need to know. Help me help you help me.”

“The fuck does that mean?” The man mutters, confusion overpowering his suspicion.

“It means if you don’t work with me, you’re going to have to work with him,” explains Ray. “And, well, he’s got that kit of his. Y’know, he’s got a knife in there specifically for chopping off fingers. A skinning knife, too.”

The man’s facade cracks. Ray watches the blood drain from his face.

“And those pliers have to be custom-made, or else there’s just some really specific-ass tools in the world. It’s got a bladed end to cut into the gums so you can get a better grip on the teeth. I don’t know what exactly the wedges are for, but—”

“Jesus!” The man spits. “Okay!”

“Well, it can’t be pleasant,” Ray adds. “And I have to watch if he does all that so I can report back to Orla, and I don’t wanna see that shit.”

“Fuck, alright, fine! I’ll tell you what I know!”

“I mean, don’t get me wrong, I don’t have a problem stabbing someone to death, or whatever,” continues Ray, waving his hand nonchalantly. “I just think that’s all a bit excessive, y’know? One time he took out this dude’s eyeball and made him eat it—”

“Fucking hell, 7th Street hired my boss to steal the damn trunk! I don’t even know what’s in it!”

The door creaks open as Aster prowls inside.

“Of course it’s fucking 7th Street,” he growls. “And it wasn’t his eyeball, Ray.”

Ray twists a bit to look at Aster over his shoulder. He opens his mouth as if to speak but thinks better of it. He shrugs and returns to their prisoner. It really is unfortunate. Ray was hoping their thief was a Viper. Aster may just shoot the poor bastard on principle.

“But you don’t work for 7th Street, and had no idea they were involved until after the fact,” he offers, eyeing the black case Aster sets on the table nearby.

The man follows his gaze. He stares for a moment, until understanding and the faintest hint of panic spark in his eyes.

“Yeah,” he replies. “The boss didn’t tell me who it was for, or who it belonged to. Just wanted me to snatch it.”

Aster pops the latch on the case, and the top rolls open on well-oiled hinges. Ray can’t see what sort of toys he has in there, but he can guess based on what he’s seen Aster use in the past. Orla tries not to have them work together at all if she can help it, but sometimes a job calls for a little game of “good merc, will-absolutely-torture-you-to-death merc” to get things done.

Aster lifts a large knife from the case and holds it up to the scant light. His cybernetic eyes already give off an eerie yellow glow in the dark, and it’s worse reflected in the shining metal.

“Huh, that one looks pretty choppy. Is that the finger one?” Ray asks.

Aster doesn’t reply, just admires the blade. Their prisoner draws a shaky breath.

“They—they’re taking the trunk to this warehouse down at the docks! I don’t know the address, but it’s supposed to be the only one tagged with a blue cat!”

Aster turns his head slowly and arches a brow. He doesn’t say a word, just studies the man, and Ray decides to finally listen to the impulse telling him to shut the fuck up for once.

“I swear!” The man shouts, tears welling up in his eyes. “I don’t know anything else! Please!”

Ray coos and looks over at Aster, who sighs and places the knife back home in the case. The man sighs and goes limp.

“You can cut him loose,” Aster grouses.

Ray obliges. The man stands slowly, rubbing his wrists while Ray leans down to take care of the rest of the ropes. There’s a brief moment where the man tenses, and Ray wonders if he’s thinking about kicking him. Ray eyes the man’s Achilles tendon.

But the moment passes and the man backs away as Ray straightens.

“You should probably get the fuck out of here before we change our mind,” Ray suggests cheerfully.

The man takes a few more slow steps back. There’s only one door, and Aster and Ray make no move to let him pass. He swallows, eyes lingering on the gun strapped to Aster’s thigh.

That’s another thing Ray doesn’t like about working with Aster. People see a gun and assume Aster is the only scary one. Ray has had to prove otherwise enough times for it to get annoying. Sure, Aster will skin your arm if he thinks it’ll get results. Or shoot off a few fingers. Or mail a body piece by piece back to their boss. Or—Alright. Maybe he is the scarier one.

The man takes a deep breath and practically runs between them. Ray starts to stick out his foot to trip him, but Aster’s already glaring at him. He still could—Orla would be pissed if Aster maimed him—but then he’d have to listen to Aster bitch about it all the way to the docks.

The man stumbles outside. Ray feels a prickle of unease down his spine and instinctively tenses. Aster barely moves, just enough for Ray to realize what’s happening a split second too late to stop it.

The crack of the gunshot is loud in the small room, and Ray hears the thud as the man drops out on the street.

“Oh, fuck off,” he hisses. “I hate that you can do that ‘fire from the hip’ bullshit.”

gabriel in regards to classes-he definitely prioritizes them. honestly if he had less abysmal habits and less of a habit of thinking too hard about his answers he could be better off. no doubt like hes a Good Stufent and he does well but he stresses himself out along w really (jnrealistic) high expectations he holds himself up to. def the gifted kid growing up. A and B student. sometimes a c writhes its way in there.

in regards to people- he loooooooves helping people. he loves hearing the Ohhhhh of a sudden understanding of a concept that he got to explain. very friendly and well liked but not wholly Cared about..hes used a lot just for his smarts, and like outside of helping tutor other folks theres not a lot going on socially. except for communication btwn him and his uncles(which i like to picture are the councillors. very religious family. like Crazy religious.)gabriel probably has some internalized homo/transphobia somewhere in there but he has an arc about that.

mirage and her classes - Makes half assed attempts to study in my mind, she puts her mind to it, pulls out a textbook reviews her notes etc … eventually grows bored, experiences the autism frustration of not having completed a task, and ends up in a nihilistic spiral while I Think listening to music. or texting a friend. she wouldnt admit it but music is a passion of hers. Dont tell anyone but i like to think she daydreams abiut starting a band.

mirage and her social life - she probably has a small circle of friends that are just a total fucking tar pit. she stands where she stands and they disagree sometimes but in the end none of this matters and we might as well hang out after class. actually do you wanna skip next period? etc. shes hard to get along with just because shes so horribly negative but i dont think shes outright rude. maybe has a passive aggressive or underlying tone but i dont think she means it. because none of it matters.

v2 and classes - very hard worker! vigilant and pays attention. snaps at you if youre distracting her. her bag is a bit of a total fucking mess but she’,ll get those papers after the test.( never gets the papers). She gets particularly pissed when people take their sweet sweet time moving around campus. she knows just what to say to get an extended deadline if shed ever need it. i think she has very organized notebooks themselves but again. bags a mess. dorm’s a mess. i think shed find a way to get a single dorm.

v2 and people - gets along relatively well, makes some MEAN small talk and fantastic at making a deal. no close friends though, primarily just acquaintances she waves at and asks how theyre doing.. thats about it. tries to have fun on her own.

v1 in classes - THIS FUCKING GUY. i cannot decide whether it would have straight A’s on accident or straight F’s while knowing the material SCARILY well. what i do know is it would never take notes it would never study its living a life and having fun. not a frat boy or anything tho i dont grt those vibes.

v1 with people - i dont think it has friends though on account kf It Doesnt Really Talk and a lot of other mchines dont bother to Bother with a guy who refuses to really talk. unintentionally rude somehow. creeps ppl out with the unbroken eye contact even as its doing an intensive task. verrrry expressive with bodylang though as if youve got the patience you can get a crazy convo going. like its unintentionally rude but i think its well meaning. unless if its v2. they happened to go to the same college and they have a sibling rivalry. if these two have no friends then theyve got eachother. to bully and tease.

2. How easy is it for your character to laugh?

Cyrus- how easy is it to get him to find something funny? easy. he falls for a lot of jokes and its part of the reason ortega got to him so quickly. same thing for daniel, except this time it started off as a way crueler, "this man is terrible at what he does and i get to watch him fail" sort of amusement before it cooled down to something softer. how easy it is to get him to laugh is another matter entirely. cyrus is very good at schooling his own expressions, and if he thinks its inappropriate to laugh at any given situation (or he doesnt want to give away how much hes enjoying himself), good luck trying. youd have to catch him completely off guard with something to get anything to slip out, and honestly even then hed disguise it with a cough.

Cynthia- its easy to get her to laugh, but a lot of the times it out of politeness rather than genuine amusement. honestly, she really doesnt know why some people laugh at some things, it doesnt compute for her. but she knows when to laugh and nobody knows that shes faking it so thats good enough to get a conversation going! ortega and themmy were the only ones able to get her genuinely laughing at something, and its harder for ortega to do so now because every time she tries, it always seems tinged with some slight sadness she cant place. shes sure its nothing to investigate though, heartbreak was hard on all of them. theres no other reason why cynthia would be acting like this...right?

11. How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)?

Caine- questions! lots of them. they dont care how they come across, and theyre already a very curious step, so its not unusual for him to rapid-fire ask a barrage of questions to whatever poor sod managed to catch his attention this time. it also helps with information gathering. the only downside to asking questions is that the type of questions someone asks can sometimes say a lot about them, and theyre not interested in letting people find out.

Cecilia- she is staring at them blankly until they explain. if they dont elaborate, then itll depend on how much the clarification matters to her. if not: oh well, were moving on ig! she doesnt have any problem admitting she doesnt know everything, and it doesnt bother her. if she does, the other person is Not Getting Out of that conversation until they give in. she will pester them for answers with the single-mindedness of a bloodhound. the Only exception to this is argent, because shed kill her if she asked too many questions and she respects that.

Genuine thoughts on the pjo tv series?

i had a lot more thoughts when i first finished the show so this isnt as comprehensive as it could be but these are all the most important things i can remember. but im glad you asked cuz im alwasy ready to answer this question

i didnt hate it. i think i might have had too high expectations but ill be watching s2.

i will say that i think they def stuck to the books more, which i liked, but they made some changes i def didnt like.

my biggest issue was probably with the way that the kids - especially percy - just knew everything going on, because it took a lot away from the childlike wonder that the books had when the trio went on their first quest. i think the fact that percy didn't know a lot in the books was also essential to kid readers, who most likely dont know anything about greek mythology. obviously i think the fact that show percy knows a lot is good because it highlights his intelligence & could be explained by the fact that his mother told him all the stories, but at the same time i think percy served as a really important way to teach kids about the greek myths, so it kind of sucks that he immediately knows whats going on at some points, especially when we have no idea as to how he even learned about it. for example, at some points it made sense that percy knew what was going on, like when they realized quick that Auntie Em's Gnome Emporium was where medusa lived. but when we came to crusty's place, they just totally skipped everything about how percy came to find out about who crusty even was. taking out that context totally messed things up, because if i wasnt a reader i literally would not have understood how we even got there and how percy knew who this guy was. i understand it was to save time, but i think it couldve been handled better.

on the note of medusa, LOVED THAT EPISODE. i thought it had to be one of the best episodes of the season because it really displayed how no one is ever 1 dimensional, and i loved the way they drew to sally and medusa's similariteis because it really made percy consider what "good" and "bad" really meant - which is to say, theres never a clear line. and i loved that annabeth was so reserved because it really served to how wholly she beleives in her mother and the gods because it sets up her character arc so well. the entire episode was just so good. ALSO THE ACTRESS FOR MEDUSA WAS WAYYYYY TOO GOOD. too good.

the lotus casino episode was probably my least-liked because of the way they executed it. in the books that part was so fun and colorful because it was just the kids being kids - of course they were going to waste time having fun. but in the show they were so caught up in the mission that it kind of sucked not being able to see them just having fun like kids do. thats what i mean when i feel like the show just took so much away from that whimsy that kids have. i dont remember where i read it, but someone once replied to one of my posts with something about how they were kids just by physical appearance but not in character (or not completely) and i agree with that. i mean, sure, they had their scenes where they argued over trivial things like candy and chips and splashed percy with water because they seriously thought it would help, but i just so wish we coudlve seen them having fun being kids at the lotus casino.

im also not saying that they act like adults. they def dont act like adults (which is good) but theyre just not as childish as they were in the books, which is why im kind of disappointed. to sum it up, what im trying to say is that i think the show was just so focused on the plot points that they forgot to add in the children's characteristic qualities at points, because the storyline was just so plot-focused that i feel like even the points that the kids were supposed to be silly and funny just didnt hit the way they wouldve in the books.

this is more minor but i wish the scene where annabeth tries to reason with hephaestus when percy's stuck in the chair was somehow longer, or just ended with more vagueness. i loved the way leah took charge of that scene and i thought it was a really good execution, but i didnt understand how it only took hephaestus 5 minute of being scolded by a 12 year old to suddenly change his mind about power. i guess that could say something about annabeth's persuasiveness, but in reality it was just the showrunners trying to finish up scenes lol. i think what im trying to say is that the scene just felt sped up when it couldve been slower, or maybe the scene couldve ended with a little more of a lingering question that would make viewers wonder about the implications of this scene.

i didnt like the way hades was portrayed. im not saying the king of the underworld cant be funny but i felt like the way they changed hades will not do good to the rest of the show, especially if we get into season 3 or when we learn about hades' kids, beacuse i dont think itll line up with the way hades treats his kids later on in the series. like i cant imagine we get to season 5 and this is the hades storming into the battle in manhattan. sure, hes funny, but it does not line up with his character in the books at all. i dont mind minor changes to the books, but when youre completely changing an entire character - one whos important to the series as a whole - whats the point in calling it a book-accurate show 😭

i loveddd the lsat episode i loved the dream sequence and i loved that they went back to montauk i thought it added so much to the show.

sally was portrayed interestingly. i know everyone has a lot of different opinions about how she was portrayed, as well as how gabe and the way the abuse in their family was potrayed and i agree and disagree with a lot of the points ive seen on the internet. firstly i did like that sally was portrayed with a lot more strength and stubbornness than the movie did, but at the same time there were points where i felt like she acted so un-sally like. ex. i like the way she was so serious & nervous & anxious with percy at the pool because that made sense; but i didnt think the scene where she was ordering percy to open the door was something i was expecting. and i understand that the entire situation was so difficult for both her and percy so it makes sense that she was easily frustrated with percy not listening to her, but i feel like at the very least she wouldve tried another line or two of reasoning with percy before ordering him to open the door, because in the books she seems a little more patient with him. idk this was a super specific moment lol i think what im trying to say is she doesnt feel like the same sally that i remember in the books, and thats def not a bad thing at all but at the same time i feel like the way they potrayed sally in terms of her mannerisms just isnt who she is. she is adamant and indepednent and blah blah but its the little things in her portrayal that dont feel the same.

on the topic of gabe's abuse - i know abuse can be more than just physical and we def saw aspects of the more financial and emotional abuse in the show. but i didnt like how gabe was portrayed because yeah he seems like a shitty guy but thats all he had; theres no context as to why hes even in their life or even how he got in there. i think the best way to describe it is the way i saw someone else describe it: he's gabe, just not smelly gabe from the books. so its essentially teh same thing as the sally bullet - i feel like they got rid of some of the important characteristics of gabe so his presence in teh story doesnt feel the same. i think this could be said about most of the characters in the show.

okay okay okay so im really sorry for not answering your first message yet i havent forgotten it!!!i just cant choose an OC for it i just have way too many and that battle royale takes some time

I blacked out for half and hour and this is the result i guess (most of it under the cut cause its kinda long)

okay so accidentally im headcanoning theres some sort of betrothal braid for dwarves (which like yes it has been done to death but again accidental) and bilbo like just offers to braid thorins hair on like a lazy morning of very little to do in the shire, theyve been to the farmers market, thorin has done his social call at the bee keeper to check in on his bees (hes allergic so they cant have them in bag end so he has a bee sitter, but theyre still his bees and he is kinda obsessed w them, just as much as his veggie patch thank you very much, his zucchini won a prize recently actually)

so anyway thorin gets home (bilbo went home after the farmers market) maybe its starting to get a tad autumnal and they cozied up outside on the bench and bilbo offers to braid his hair because "oh look at that youve got a leave or two stuck in your hair, really early ones this year" so he untangles bits and strands of thorins hair and then decides why not braid it, it would look so nice braided he likes braids all the dwarves like braids in their hair, he's seen so many dwarves in his life and they all had braided hair and beard styles (more or less kili is an outlier and refuses to be counted) so he weaves his fingers through thorin's hair and voila would you look at that! he is actually kinda proud of himself

thorin only notices the braid and the specific style and nature of the braid once he wants to braid his hair for bed (for safekeeping so it doesnt get frizzled and tangled while he sleeps) and he pales and then blushes because what is this? and he tries to undo it but then - - - stops

he leaves it that way, he thinks it suits him and besides whos gonna notice anyway, it can be his secret for now. so he secures the braid

it isnt until after the harvest, and after thorin and bilbo started fretting about the weather further east, especially in the mountains, especially with them expecting company that has to cross those mountain passes that must be quite treacherous with the first snowfalls of the season, that thorin remembers the braid.

not that he ever forgot it, he makes sure its in tip top shape every morning afternoon and evening, bilbo has even commented on him becoming vain in his old age (not that Thorin is old) and everytime he does it fills him with so much warmth and giddiness that he just has to scoop up bilbo and smother him in kisses (which doesnt help with endless the teasing but thorin can tease back plenty) but he remember that even tho bilbo doesnt know what it means (or at least thorin thinks his lover doesnt, bilbo has after all never really done anything to show that he knows about dwarven customs like this one specific one) that they have enough visitors coming to fill every nook and cranny in bag end who do know the precise and very specific meaning of that braid. 

So he tries to explain, he tries his best, he doe his best to at least try and get bilbo to understand, to prepare him for the onslaught of stares and jests and rowdy comments, he cooks a fancy meal, a four course one that would make every hobbit housewife proud (and he did have some tips from his bee sitter mind you, where to forage the best mushrooms which butcher has the best mutton, the best herbal marinades, the hobbit essential to giving your special someone a special someone, she even wishes him the best of luck with his endeavor and squeezes a few extra bottles of honeyed ale into his hand and even sends her grandson?? Thorin isnt quite sure how this young hobbit is related to her but he is, he looks like he is to get some flowers, o thorin must be  a pitiful sight, he couldve gotten the flowers himself, he knows which ones are bilbos favourite wildflowers, the bouquet filled with some ears of barley some sunflowers and some umbels of elderflower for their sweet smell) but he accepts never the less and hurries on home, his arms overflowing with baskets and flowers and bags

His only silver lining is that the company isnt supposed to arrive until later this week, that he has a few days still, a few days to make this right, to explain things and learn more about hobbit customs, especially the ones that have to do with the whole spending the rest of thor life together part, right now that seems like the most important part, the part that makes his heart hammer wildly and makes the pieces all set in place, makes him see it all clearly.

The road leading up to bag end is already jammed with carts and ponies when he arrives, most of these dwarves he knows of course and most of them are on their way to the blue mountains and only staying long enough to unload their gifts and trunks and passengers right at bilbos door. He almost wants to drop everything hes carrying, all his treasures, and hurry up the rest of the road, the last few metres to bilbos door

He elbows his way through the gathering crowd, pushes past hobbits and dwarves aside alike not really caring if they moe out of the way in time or not, he wants to apologise but also this is not the time his mind is only focused on one thing and that is getting to that door and to bilbo before- 

“Uncle!” comes a unison shout followed by a stern “Well if that isnt my oakhead of a brother, hello dearest, oh whats this then?” 

and thorin almost trips over his own two feet.

“You two?? Engaged?? And not even a raven, my my what a great brother i have in you.”

Its bilbo that pipes in to save him “well… erm… we were going to wait until you all arrive, isnt that right, honey, thats why you bought all that food.”

“Thats not gonna feed us all after our long journey, but congrats I guess” Dis claps him on the shoulder and thorin feels his soul leaves his body, he can see mahal and mahal is facepalming and shaking his head in disappointment as if he just lost a bet with his wife.

When he comes back to himself, fili is the only other dwarf still standing outside the door of bag end, mouth agape, like he too just lost a bet.

anyways i cant get over the fact that lara killed a villain in self-defense and on accident in the 1st cour and it wasnt brought up again, she was just fine about it. plus im seething that her mother “cared about lara for real actually”, or so i understood and i dont feel like rewatching that. i dont have any sympathy for her mom...

i think the only person who could possibly know half of it and also understand lara is yuri, in regards to awful parenting and killing someone as a child in self-defense both.

yuri definitely has looked up laras information and is at least peripherally aware of her mothers circumstances, etc, we know for a fact yuri keeps up-to-date on classified information on the heroes, and just in the 1st cour he was effortlessly holding a law class for children.

i think laras mother couldve given her an ultimatum on how she is her mother and legally lara cant really do anything without a guardian- shes 14, so i dont think she can be a hero without her parents approval, and realistically paolin couldnt whisk lara away from her legal guardian no matter how much she wanted to help.

given an ultimatum from laras mother, i think paolin shouldve definitely tried to whisk lara away in the childish sense of “lets run out of here now, i dont have time to think it through but i dont want to let your horrible mother take you to a different city to put you through all of this again because i care about you”.

its not realistic, of course, and i think paolin would be aware enough of it and also retroactive enough to seek help she can think of: agnes and yuri, who are her superiors and the first authority figures she can think of since the heroes are more familiar to her

i do want to think the heroes would have some sort of legislature considering child heroes, that while imperfect (obviously, since why do child heroes exist in the first place...) are in some ways effective in protecting the rights of underage heroes, including something that makes sure theyre not manipulated in their position or somesuch.

i think the legislature would allow the judicial bureau to immediately restrict the activities of a hero if applicable and place them under alternative guardianship and for the reasons of yuri ending up as laras guardian, include something that the guardianship can be immediately transferred if a suitable guardian is found (has to be a higher-up or somesuch to begin with maybe)

its just for plot reasonings, though, and similarly i think laras mother would realize where paolin mustve taken lara and follow the two girls.

i think yuri couldve lost his mother shortly before this, but in any case, agnes isnt evil but she really doesnt feel like someone who wants to take care of a child. in a moment of weakness and his sense of justice and personal trauma, i think yuri would sign the motion and when questioned who the guardian may be, he just says its him.

i like to think he wouldnt have let laras mother take her, not after any hurried explanation from paolin and just laras body language around her mother...

which yuri regrets immediately afterwards mostly because he doesnt see himself suitable to take care of anyone any longer, even if his mothers death doesnt have anything to do with him etc.

lara would definitely think yuri is scary and intimidating, and he can be very stoic, but hes not cruel at all. lara could hug him without permission and scare herself, especially with how she got tears and snot all over his suit. yuri would be surprised by a hug but only because he doesnt know how to deal with positive things happening to him, and the rest of it is quite alright.

as it turns out, hes actually very kind and very mindful of laras feelings, whereas lara has never been in a position where she has felt free to express herself in any negative manner without being reprimanded and controlled by her mother.

yuri is also undeniably a foil to kotetsu in many ways, and to have him assume a parental role with a child would be very fitting. in contrast to kotetsus mother and bother supporting him freely and kaede being his biological child, yuri is inadvertently making his own family after fully losing it (in more ways than one, by having terrible experiences and quite literally his parents dying) by growing very fond of lara.

and i think kotetsus career in heroism has led to him at times neglect kaede, especially when she didnt know about his hero identity (despite his best efforts, because hes been so busy). yuri, however, would be such a wonderful parental figure in every way in a relatively effortless way, even if he may appear distant at times- he would just be worried about lara.

but i think lara would grow to trust him quickly, because he doesnt raise his voice nor punish her, and hes very gentle despite his meticulous demeanor.

yuri getting enrichment in his cage of sorrows because somehow, due to this, hes breaking the cycles that have kept him captive his entire life. he becomes gentler with himself because of lara talking about her feelings to him and he has to accept that if it was not a sin for lara to have killed in self-defense, perhaps he can truly forgive himself for his original sin.

i think lara couldve been cleared fit for herowork again, but yuri sees her hesitancy and asks her whats wrong, and lara would trust him enough to dare to eventually admit that she doesnt want yuri to abandon her because she cant be useful as a hero anymore, but that she doesnt even want to be a hero.

her heroism was her mothers dream, and after what happened to her and accidental manslaughter, she doesnt want anything to do with hero work on the field anymore.

it wouldve been refreshing to have someone who just doesnt want to be a hero anymore, for very understandable reasons. yuri wouldnt have been angry with her, he wouldve told her that she doesnt have to be a hero if she doesnt want to. she doesnt have to be anything... and what she experienced on the field was undeniably frightening, even without her mother having pushed her into the hero career.

and anyways, at that point, lara could just say she wishes yuri was her dad and cause yuri enter such an emotional turmoil he doesnt know what to do with himself but in a way thats somehow positive.

he would have his own reservations about it, but like, thats something hed solve by himself instead of dumping it on lara.

paolin wouldnt have been disappointed in lara either, and whereas laras mother things you have to pick between things, paolin wouldve respected laras wishes and assured her that of course theyll be best buddies forever, even if she ends up getting a new buddy hero partner. she doesnt have to choose between friends, she can be friends with multiple people at once.

i think lara couldve just become yuris daughter. yuris ties are as garish as they have always been, but theyre so cutesy now because he lets lara pick them. he has ties with hearts and flowers and stars and licensed cartoon characters. all of his private folders are now marked with cute stickers in addition to the meticulous numbering system he uses.

lara couldve been part of the whole message of “you can still be a hero even if you dont have X power or do X things”, because even if her NEXT ability is powerful, she just doesnt have the will to be a superhero. instead she would be free to choose her own path and i think she still wouldve wanted to help people some way: maybe she wouldve gotten interested in yuris career as a judge and study hard so that she could be just like him.

t&b really hasnt had anyone who has just given up on heroism,and sometimes “giving up” is the kindest thing you can do to yourself... and i just feel if theres someone else who would benefit seeing “giving up” as something positive, its yuri. because hes so strict with himself.

it wouldve been lovely to see him gain some more substance in his life and for him to see that even if he doesnt feel that way, he can be kind and gentle and a positive influence on someones life, because hes not an awful person...

scott and malia show up and theo and liam tell them and show them the bodies ans earlier scalia tried to get peter (malia's dad) to join the fight against the hunters but he refused and he just randomly shows up to where scott malia and thiam are gathered like "lets hope this thing doesnt feed off desperation because this room reeks of it." you got that the fuck right, theo's in the room. and he says something else about his perfect car being blown up with him in it by hunters and now he wants the demise of anything that could have caused that and pointedly puts down a charred wheel on the window sill and it shows liam looking back at theo like "yikkkesss😗👀" i thought it was soooo funny and kinda cute and very close after the desperation quote . i wont talk about it tho. ill sound delusional

but DAD. really???? really. do you really need to stand there making gestures like "mom's mad right now listen to her" but not in a "mom's feeling upset right now" kind of way but a "your mom's being crazy again" kind of way?? you've definitely never taken any of your kids aside and tried to help them UNDERSTAND why people behave a certain way when theyre upset or EXPLAIN how to react to someone being mad and taking it out on you!! nah you're just going with a "your mom's fucking up and acting crazy again" kind of reaction. the medium human would not have such a problem with her if you didnt encourage them!!! you imply the kids are depressed and emotionally disregulated because she shut them out but you never modeled proper conflict resolution or emotional regulation!! why would you act like its HER fault when its BOTH of your faults?????

it's hard to reconcile how he's made me feel safer than anyone else ever could and how he's scared me + made me worry. Like, i have a very sweet and secure memory of him singing me to sleep but also i have the memory where he told me another country could hit us with a WMD at any time and because of where we live we'd be the first to die. that wasn't a necessary thing i needed to know at ten, if it was even true. but he's come through for me when i needed him so so so so so many times. but he did something that traumatized me. but we can banter and talk for hours and laugh and laugh and laugh. but he's the best teacher ive ever had. but i can count the times he's praised me for my work on two hands. but he understands how im feeling in really important moments. but he'll observe me get so upset im uncontrollably sobbing and do nothing. but he accepts the weirdest and most bizarre parts of me. but i have to walk on eggshells around him. but i know he's incredibly proud of me. but im terrified of disappointing him. but i know without a doubt that he loves me so, so much. but he's hurt me.

math is such a huge trigger for me. i remember being in middle school trying so hard to understand math but in class i would completely zone out and everything would be a blur. then when my teacher tried to help me and i couldnt understand it, she would get frustrated and then i would cry and she wouldn't be able to help me. then when my mom tried to help me with my homework she would do the exact same thing. so now in my statistics class i'm having the same issue where i cannot grasp anything at all, dont know what questions to ask, etc. and then once i have to do the work i break down and cry because i cant figure anything out. i have that inner critic telling me how stupid i am and how i'll never be able to pass the class. that i should be able to understand it and be better at it. that im just choosing to not understand the math. but i just cant get it. i try and try and i cant do it

and i cant avoid doing the homework because i refuse to take this class again. i have my uncle helping me, a zoom meeting with my professor tomorrow, and a tutor session next week. but the exam is on wednesday and i dont think i am going to pass it

not to mention that when we do problems in class i cant even figure out what i need help with because i am just naturally very slow to figure math out. so by the time i have questions, we'll be three lessons ahead and then i dont understand any of it because everything in math is connected. i hate it so much

whenever people try to explain math to me and ask me if i understand it i have to say no, because i dont undertsand it. but when they get visibly frustrated or irritated (or i come to the conclusion that my inability to understand it is inconveniencing them) then i just lie and tell them that i think that i understand what theyre saying when i really dont at all.

which is unfair, i shouldnt be assuming that everyone is just as impatient with me as my mother is

i wish she would have been more understanding. she is an engineer so she gets math, and she gave me no wiggle room when i tried to understadn it. she wouldnt even give me encouragement like, "its okay maggie you'll get it. i'll help you." she just stopped helping me and sent me to Kumon. and then she got upset that she spent so much money sending me there only for my grades to not improve. when all they did was shove me in a corner all alone making me repeat my times tables over and over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i am so angry at how poorly my situation was handled when i was a child. those catholic school fucks had no understanding of what an abused child needs. i should have been helped but i just got put in a room with an old lady with catholic brainrot telling me that i had an "emotional impairment." blaming me for my constant emotional outbursts of sobbing and hyperventilating in class because i was so afraid of going home and being abused by alcoholics. and my dad was disabled for years after his accident so i wasnt about to tell him about my abuse. on top of the fact that i was hayleys personal punching bag.

so yeah its hard for me to understand math because it reminds me of being sexually, mentally, and emotionally abused

i just hope that with all of the help that i am getting, i'll be able to pass this class. i think that as long as i tell my prof/tutor/uncle that i might have to take breaks if i start to cry then it will be alright. i have to take research methods next semester but hopefully i wont have to be calculating the fucking degrees of freedom or whatever.

i think i just made a breakthrough with my ocs

so i have these two ocs, who origianally had nothing in common (inka and skyler, ill have to di a whole essay about those two because its complicated) and i figured out theyre origins. inka was a characyer i had to make for an english project on villians, and skyler was originally an oc x canon girly. these two get their names and designs changed to fit whatever universe im shoving them into, whether its pjo or pokemon!! im planning on writing a book and these two r in it just under dif names (Melantha and Amarantha (WHY ARE THE NAMES SO SIMILAR HUH)) and as i explained it once "its like pjo, but lesbin, british, more angsty, and kind of ran like the hunger games in some aspects" (idk if i plan on ever publishing but like...)

mels godly parent is poseidon, and amaras is aphrodite. heres the thing, theyre personalitlieies and actions in this book are extremely different to theior og designs.

inka is harsh, and cold, she doesnt care what pther people think and is sick of being the golden child, she lashes out and is the oldest of 16 kids. shes cursed, and alone but she doesnt care. she just pushes herself until she starts pushing others

skyler is an absolute harlot, she has a severe aversion to all substances, smoking and alcohol but is the personification of a racoon, she stays up all night, and her house is always trashed. she had an extremely rough childhood, and lives off energy drinks. shes insecure, but other people like her so she has to put herself out there to be able to make a living.

amara has experienced much grief, shes a child of aphrodite so she has many siblings who love her, and support her but none can quite sympathise with her greif and how she feels after loosing one of her best friends. shes the opposite of what youd expect from an aphrodite kid, with choppy hair, and punk clothes that are often torn to shreds, she has scars and shes not afraid to let them be seen.

melantha has experienced loss, she has been bullied, but she can pull through, shes optimistic, she sees light at the end of the tunnel even if shes a loner now (her siblings got killed :p) she tries and succeeds at help amara with her greif. shes complex, and doesn't really understand herself, but thats what she likes about herself., shes her own person and shes unique, her experiences tell her story.

i think very different characters overall as you can tell, but i think their og godly parents would be different if they were demigods aswell!! inka/amara would be a child of hades, and skyler/melantha would be a child of aphrodite that also needs explaining hold on

inka was suposed to have powers coming from a generational curse, she travelled in the shadows and spoke to ghosts. her powers were dark and would hurt, i feel like that speaks for itself

skyler could practically charmspeak, and half the country was attracted to her. she was good at makeup, and had a strong sense of fashion.

i feel like that explains some things, but their character designs have come a long way from the beggining which is why its so drastic!!

I haven’t written much about this year.

The students are unmotivated and rude jerks. Whatever theyre teenagers and i tried to teach them. I wrote about some days that felt like wins but then theyd immediately revert back the next class

Here i am sitting here. Looking up why do my students hate me after i told them i have to leave and the vast majority are happy. The rest are apathetic with only a handful actually sad that I’m leaving

But at the past 8 schools ive worked my the vast majority of students love me

None of the reasons online fit me. And all ive thought all year is that they hate that i make them use their brains

So many kids in my classes as a student hated our teachers for the same reason. I knew it as a student and it annoyed me. Wed have a perfectly good and kind teacher but all the dicks in my classes would push and test them to see if they could break them. I always wanted them to just stop so I could pay attention. They wanted the teachers that sat back and let them goof off all class and no do anything. Then we take a test were not prepared for because we weren’t taught anything

I know im being the kind of teacher I LIKED as a student. And that its worked for me in the past. But it still feels pretty shitty

Of my first years who i thought all liked me. Most rlly didnt care that im leaving. I use the lessons that were already there. I make it lively. I add fun things. But i also make them use their brains… theyre doing phonics but i add critical thought questions because my older students cant do it and i want to start them early. They can do it. Ive gotten them thinking about what theyre reading and they can all answer well. But… seems most of them dont like me

I thought i finally won over my homeroom class. I never see them. I barely have any classes with them and i never got to do the homeroom duties i signed up to do. I stay around but most dont talk to me. And i gave them material to prep them to begin studying for college next school year. It was hard. All i wanted was tor them to try. And they seemed to finally understand that in the past month.

I really dont like the one girl. Shes new to the class this year and shes spend the entire year trying to distract the class when i talk or instigating bad behavior. I took her aside once in the beginning of the year and calmly told her to knock it off - and she listened better after that but she still does it. And honestly it ruins the class atmosphere. Shes always bad mouthing me under her breathe. Rolling her eyes. Smirking at the other students when i talk. Or just outright talkijt over me when im trying to explain things. And unfortunately shes popular in the class so its super disruptive. She has western family so her and another boy get mad that thry cant be effortlessly flawless in my class

Getting back to the they dont like me because i make them use their brains. The other students think those two are advanced and if they say something is too hard then it is. But they can do all of the work i give them. It doesnt take a long time for them to figure it out but it they DO need to use their brains.

Anyway bunch of them kept talking about how they were gonna improve next year and stuff so dumb me. I thought when i told them id be leaving theyd be a little disappointed but no. Apathy and immediately they started talking about the woman im subbing for who they barely know bc they only saw her for a couple months before she went on maternity leave and even then she called in sick all the time

All she did was have them do presentations while she sat around doing nothing because she didjt like them or teaching. Just like the other two bitch girls in the school. Then shes sit and zone out while they talked and say “good job”

I correct their work and give them feedback. I give them information and examples. I teach them new things. I sit down wnd help them figure it everything out and im happy to walk them through it

I just. It annoys me so much as both a teacher and a past student. I hated teachers who didnt help me improve. If i felt like i was doing busy work that they didn’t check i felt it was pointless and they were unnecessary in the classroom. I work so hard and i ensure im teaching my kids somethinggg

In the beginning of the year. My first class. I asked them to tell me what happened in Harry Potter. And they struggled. They couldnt explain much more than harry beat volemort and they couldn’t even tell me how. I had to hand hold them through the story even though they watched it and liked it and knew it.

I had them write a story as a class and they made a bizzare story about a character that did nothing and felt nothing.

Now they could walk me step by step through harry potter and tell me why everything happened and what the cause and effects of everything was as well as the characters motivations and relate it back to their personal lives and connect the story to the real world. They’ve written real stories about characters who feel and have goals and give them and entire story arch by themselves

They can write a simple thesis paper. They can create their own unique opinions and support them with strong and diverse examples

But yet

They’re excited at the prospect of someone who sits at their desk wkd does nothing all class coming back

I dont get mad at students

Im not strict

I do what i say ill do

I listen to their opinions

I talk them as young adults and take interest in their hobbies

I support their other school acitivies

I make fun activities for them and give them treats on special occasions

I know what the fuck im talking about and they have done all the work i ask them to do so im definitely teaching them how to do it

Im available but i also dont push myself in their conversations or activities like a weirdo - i let them come to me

And you know what its gotten me. They stole the expensive light i brought to make the dance party that i put together. They stole it. They lied about it. And they only gave it back when the male teachers threatened them about it.

If i didnt feel so dead. If everything else in my life wasnt already so heavy and mortifying. Id cry

The girl who hates teacher. Hates the kids. Doesnt do anything but take credit. Sits around like that other girl. Shes gonna be their teacher. Shell get all the credit for getting them into good schools. And theyll like her better because she doesn’t make them use their brain. And just plays basketball all class and flirts with the CHILD boys.

yeah totally! i’m just gonna write an email complaining to the people in charge i guess :) probably, sometimes tumblr and tiktok can provide good advice haha :) i think it’s the actual writing it down part that helps me remember, i use lots of colours and write it down in little blocks all over the page and often just write a number next to it to remember how many facts i need to memorise…the explaining it out loud part is mostly happening to make sure i actually understand what’s happening :) i’ve tried flash cards before (actual paper flash cards and anki flash cards) and i’ve tried the pomodoro method but both didn’t really work :( flash cards were just becoming annoying at some point and the other method just made it way too easy for me to get distracted. hmm yeah i could talk to that teacher again, but she’s not working for the department this particular exam coming up is written in so she could probably only provide some emotional support haha :’) we’ll see how it goes :) no that totally makes sense!! i like the way you said that. a bit of clutter makes it feel like home :) or maybe i’ll let myself get distracted by you and now we’re both sitting on the floor getting nothing done…but at least we’re having fun! you got it, i’ll hold your hand and we’re gonna get through it together, even if it hurts :)

IM GLAD YOU ENJOY IT!! i don’t really remember all the details from the books but now i kinda wanna reread them haha :) i was a different person back then, i can only dream of the focus and attention span i had at 13, now i can barely read a chapter of anything as well :/ and i think the only reason i got through them in such a short amount of time was because i didn’t do anything else all day except for reading, i remember my neck being sore from looking down so much, would not recommend :) we’re gonna need like three days to get through all the films, but i’m down hehe ;)

You really should🙄how dare they? Tumblr and tiktok either give great advice or possibly the worst advice ever… and there doesn’t seem to be much in between🤣. Ohhh that’s good! Especially with the different colours, breaks it all up a bit! Flash cards are the worst. I’m sure they work for some people, but I am right there with you thinking they’re annoying😑and the pomodoro method is eh. But there’s so many revision techniques, and they might be worth a try, and hey if they don’t work, then at least then you’d know that the studying method you’re doing now is what works best for you🤷. Well, she might not work in the right department, but she could maybe pass on the message to the right people asking if they’d be willing to have a chat with you and give you some advice? But at the very least, she’s there as someone to talk to for emotional support as you said😌. Hehe I am very distracting💪tis my job. But being distracted is sooooooo much more fun than being focused heheh. You’re incredibly sweet, you know that?🥹

YOU SHOULD! THEYRE SO GOOD. And I feel like (at least for me) they’re super easy to get engrossed into? I sometimes big time struggle with immersing myself into the world and stuff, but it’s been easy so far with the hunger games? And maybe that’s because I’ve watched the films and I know what to expect? But either way it’s awesome! Oh to be 13 again. I’ve never been big on reading, was never very good at it but when I got better at it I lost all interest in it and would lose focus easily🤷. Still, all the books in 3-4 days is insanely impressive… but yes, the neck pain is definitely not fun☹️. 3 day date? With you? Sign me up!
