Tarot Decks I Own (as of June 2024)

I got most of these (after the RWS) when I last quit smoking a couple years ago (think I made it five years) as a deal with myself - I could spend my cigarette budget on indie tarot decks. I started up again but it was a good incentive at the time.

I have also traded and given decks away so there are more that I’ve had and lost, but this is my current collection of 27 tarot decks (I’ll make a separate post for oracle and misc decks). I also tried to get these in a way that corresponded to the majors order to help limit my spending but it got pretty neurotic with swapping out deck positions and stuff so I’ve stopped worrying about that as much. It kinda helps me remember my collection though.

I put in parentheses the year I got them in, more or less. I added pictures and I'll update with links to other posts if I ever do deck reviews.

The titles reflect the romantic in me, my desire for a world filled with love, peace, kindness, acceptance, respect, whimsy and beauty. I want to share with you not only the symbolism of this design, but the meaning of my title. Calliope is a muse, one of nine in Greek Mythology. She is the eldest and thus considered the monarch over all muses. She presides over eloquence and epic poetry. Calliope and her eight sisters were often called upon for artistic inspiration from poetry, music, dance and every geometry! Thus, I named this piece Captivating Calliope. Calliope for the monarch butterflies, who are frolicking in enchanting symmetry, and captivating for their mesmerizing magnificence. Lilies most commonly mean devotion or purity but depending on the culture and color there may be additional symbolism. A red lily represents passion, while yellow symbolizes desire and delight and gratitude. In China, lilies are used in weddings because they are tied to 100 years of love. They are also tied to good luck. The monarch butterfly is the Queen of all butterflies! She is the Crowned Empress of energy, perseverance, mysticism, faith and transcendence. The monarch butterfly escorts us to the peak of our spiritual truth. She awakens our inner compass that directs us in the right direction. Monarch butterflies are the most evolved of all species due to their incredible migration from as far as Canada to breed and back to the warmth of Mexico to hibernate. This is why she symbolizes spiritual evolution and a cosmic connection. Aristotle declared the butterfly be renowned as Psyche. This is the Ancient Greek word for soul. There are many societies that consider the butterfly as the representation of a mortal soul. The butterfly is the Celtic Zodiac for those born between September 30th thru October 27th. Those born under this sign are said to be extremely social hence the phrase, “Social Butterfly”. They are known to have a joyful personality and a cheery disposition. They are intuitively empathetic, and people are drawn to their positive aura. The Mandarin Chinese word for butterfly is "hu-tieh". "Tieh" means "70 years", therefore butterflies have become a symbol for a long life. If a butterfly crosses your path, it means good luck. In the Japanese culture butterflies are thought to be representative of young maidens and marital bliss. Butterflies also symbolize: Resurrection, Transition, Celebration, Lightness, and time Symmetry is another manifestation of the balance of Yin and Yang, of the unimpeded flow of ch'i. Ch’I is a river pristine energy, a power that not only flows through us, but unites our tangible self, our body, thoughts, emotions and sensations to our intangible, our spirit and consciousness. I might do my daily tarot reading tonight but I might not. I have a bit of a headache from a neckache. Also my stomach doesn’t feel great. I threw up at work after seeing something gross and having intrusive thoughts about it.

I haven’t eaten other than the small bag of lays I threw up. I drank a lot of gatorade though. They didn’t have the lemon lime flavor I prefer, but they had glacier cherry (?) and red lol, so I had those. I thought I liked the cherry one from years before but it was pretty whatever. Towards the end I was just trying to get it over with. The red one was ok. I like lemon lime coz it’s tart. I’ve had a couple glasses of oatmilk with chocolate syrup now that I’m home and that’s been settling my stomach.

The next tarot reading will be with the Next World tarot. I think I’ll ask it “what are my strengths?” The next deck after will be the Persephone tarot. Not sure what to ask it. I think I saved a couple spreads around somewhere so maybe I can pick out a question from one of those.

I’m looking forward to the deck after, the fantastic menagerie. And also the deck after that, naturescapes. I might deviate from using the numinous tarot guidebook for the fantastic menagerie since it has its own guidebook. Or I’ll do both. I’ve been using a lot of resources lately in my readings.

I need to get my upped meds Saturday morning. I didn’t get my permit renewed today since I pulled an all nighter. I also need to call the scheduling lady at work since she approved all but the last day for my vacation. I guess she didn’t see it? Kinda annoying. I actually already called but she was off that day.

My new work schedule releases tomorrow. I hope they don’t have me working too much next week. I don’t remember getting to pick out my days. I think the binder to do that went missing again. 😤
