FREE RICE - Official UN World Food Program free nonprofit game that Feeds those in Need!! https://freerice.com/
What does it do?
You play simple trivia games in-browser, and for every correct answer you will help raise "rice" (meaning money to go into emergency relief such as rice and other foods) to help feed those most in need.
Freerice officially works with the United Nations World Food Program (see: https://unric.org/en/freerice/ ), which serves, as of writing:
State of Palestine
Afghanistan
Ethiopia
Ukraine
Sudan
Yemen
See more listed here: https://www.wfp.org/emergencies, as linked from Freerice
How does it work?
Private sponsors now match the rice grains earned in the game. Every question you answer correctly earns 10 grains of rice, triggering a financial payment to WFP. The donations generated through Freerice help support WFP's work in emergencies around the world. (source: https://freerice.com/frequently-asked-questions )
100% of all funds generated via Freerice go to the World Food Programme. Freerice does not earn or keep any money it raises.(source: https://freerice.com/about-us)

Incorrect, the fact that Biden has dropped out and a candidate with history of supporting medicare for all and being more receptive to a ceasefire in the I/P conflict has made me go from "I cannot morally support the Democratic nominee" to "I am voting for the Democratic nominee despite the fact she isn't perfect in every respect." I'm really happy this played out. The Dems for the most part abandoned the old Obama platform and it feels like its possible an actual progressive agenda could come to pass in my lifetime.
Kamala 2024!
If you weren't going to vote Democratic in this election before Biden dropped out you're a dorkass loser who does not care about any of the issues you're yammering about here and also a fundamentally bad person, and I hope you get run over by a bus.
But you got one thing right in all of this gibberish, Kamala 2024.
#personal#answered#anonymous#i mean let's be clear here no president is gonna attempt to be progressive ever again within my lifetime#because joe biden tried to do like 25% of that and got ZERO fucking credit#he did so much on healthcare on reform on loans on so many social issues and for all his litany of failings on i/p#he has been distinctly harsher on netanyahu than a good chunk of dems and certainly the entire republican party#for the first time since i was four we are not involved in any wars as americans and that is thanks to joe biden#but the thing is that he gets no credit for any of it!#him pulling out of afghanistan caused his approvals to tank in a way that never recovered#and leftists gave him FUCK ALL for it#they gave him nothing they just continued whining that even tho he cancelled a bajillion in student loans#he didn't actually cancel a QUADRILLION dollars so both parties are the same and voting is the most arduous task known to man#no democrat who is running is going to forget that catering to leftist/progressive policies gets them zero leeway with those supporters#that it not only tanks numbers but you still get constant haranguing about it anyway#so they're not gonna do it#we are gonna get fuckall for at least a good fifty years#and anything we get will be utterly in SPITE of people like you anon it will happen in spite of everything you've done#mostly because of people like me and mine who understand that voting is the bare minimum#and that for the democratic process to work the way you want it to you need to participate and not pitch a fucking fit#like a four year old who was told they can't go to disney this weekend#like i know you ratfuckers are happy this played out because this is all a game to you and you don't actually care#but that's why i've got zero faith in you people and why i'm glad it's my kind of folks#actual die hard democrats who have always been hardliners for supporting democrats in every possible election#who are picking up the slack and donating to harris and supporting her agenda#which is the exact same as biden's because she's his vice president and they share they same platform#because that's what they were both running on! twice!#anyway fuck you please feel free to find a necktie and test how tall your doorframe is

"The door of the coliseum was a bit open and the ticket-seller had gone. We got behind the glasses of the covered basketball field. The man holding the microphone was taking a nap and the cyclist was cycling all alone, as if he is doing it for god’s eyes."

Two Decades and $90 Billion US Dollars Later: Dissecting The Afghan Military's Total Collapse
*SIGAR outlines a total lack of professional oversight on the ANDSF’s development and capabilities, which “prevented a clear picture of reality on the ground” from emerging to any relevant party before it was too late. This was no accident, though; the Afghan government and military, their trainers and the Pentagon alike were all heavily incentivized to lie to one another, and political leaders in Washington, who were in turn motivated to mislead the public and justify the enormous investment.
This deceit also conveniently obscured industrial-scale corruption and embezzlement within the ANDSF. As prior SIGAR reports also found, so much money and equipment were flowing into Afghanistan without any supervision whatsoever, and weaponry and other aid were misused, stolen or illegally sold off with ease by Afghans, U.S. personnel and Pentagon contractors.
SIGAR ominously warns that a similar absence of accountability is evident in the “unprecedented” U.S. arms shipments to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion on February 24, 2022.*

GHOST OF TSUSHIMA STARTERS. ACCEPTING. ❛ that's over now. you're here. with me. ❜
@ategods. deacon st. john & sarah whitaker.
it is still a concept he is struggling to come to terms with, because despite yearning and pining for this like a man begs for water in the desert, the reality of it is hard to discern. he has dreamt of this a thousand times over, watched the oasis crumble like a mirage while his hopes crash and burn. who's to say this time is any different ? careful not to take any second for granted, he has been unabashed in his silent admiration of her as he works — as if he wasn't an absolute sap before. deacon loves to the point of burden, hugs just that little bit too tight in the night and wakes up in cold sweats when his nightmares turn sour. this is one instance of many, and while he's apologetic for the sheets being soaked with perspiration, he is moreso thankful that he has sarah to wake up to again. he doesn't often dwell on these thoughts or express them, but his fear of going through that again is alive and well. it permeates the air between them and thickens like a wedge in his throat, needing to be vocalised. superstition freezes him, as if speaking the words into existence will set a curse into motion and destine their doom.
❛ i know, i know. i just— i still can't believe it. ❜ the admittance is accompanied by a cradling of her face, learned time and time again by fingertips that, merely by habit, lift blonde strands delicately to tuck behind her ear. ❛ you're really here. do you know how crazy it is to say that ? how crazy everyone thought i was to wish for it ? ❜ in the dimly lit room, moonlight basking her, he thinks this is the most beautiful she's ever looked. tomorrow he'll have the same thought, and the day after, and the next. each moment supercedes the previous, love swelling in him like a benevolent abscess. a growth. he is sick with the thought of her. ❛ but look at us now. ❜
#ategods#hhhhh post game#i nearly did a ptsd episode from afghanistan but!! this works#( * deacon st. john / writings. )#( * you drive down a winding road. an echo of her in your soul. / d. st. john. )

I understand that thare are horrible things happening. I also understand that personnally, the best thing i could do is share.
But tumblr is the one space i use that is only for my interests. I barely post anything myself. My pages are chaotic enough in what i will see today that i don't want to accidentally alter it and only see things that upset me.
And i dont mind the posts, for the most part. Because i recognise that even if i dont have the emotionnal energy to deal with them, there are people that can help and these posts are the best way to put both sides into contact that i know of for tumblr.
What i DO mind?
Is when the first thing i see is a picture of a bloody, anorexic, human being first thing in the post. Not hidden by anything. No warnings. I can't handle seeing this. I know my hurt at seeing it is is nothing compared to what these people go trough. But if i dont have the means to help anyone else, then i might as well protect MY mental and emotionnal health, because it's thin enough as it is.
There is NOTHING wrong with that.
And that's my experience with it. If only seeing ONE image for a couple seconds before u scroll can severly fuck ME up like that, i cant even imagine what people with actual TRAUMA feels.
So yeah. Take care of yourself. Dont be a dick to people who cant handle it. And if you can handle it but dont wnat to ruin your tumblr space, you can always make a new account dedicated to it. I considered doing it but between the pictures, the lack of knowing how to vet posts, and my adhd making having an actual blog posting consistantly unreliable at best, i cant be the one doing it.
With all the events going on recently I think it’s time to post this image againbc i’m tired of this shit
#I well and truly hope that the victims of any and all conflicts going on at the momment get to have a better future#But i remember when afghanistan got taken over by the taliban#And how i kept going after the news. Keeping informed. How much it hurt me inside.#Until i hit burnout and stopped watching any news at all.#And when the war in Ukraine started after that#I realised that i couldnt do that to myself again. I kept enough on an eye on it to be informed#But nothing more.#And i feel like i found a middle ground that works for me; and i do wish sometimes that i could do more#But realisticly i know it's not the case.#And while i dont know if those posts woth the pictures have trigger warnings in the tags#I am not going to ban some tags that i cannot handle when its Irl people when i move it in fanart and it's 95% of what i see#I just feel like it's not too much to ask to at least put those kind of pictures under a “read more”#I know it's for shock value and to make you look more at the post but that's such an awfull thing to do to anyone

What do you mean the US government lied about Afghanistan? Living in Afghanistan sucks, especially for women
I will try and explain this to you simply, but the Taliban was created and backed by the CIA because the US was concerned about Afghanistan having just been invaded by the USSR, a socialist state, because the US has a vested interest in maintaining the capitalist system. The US govt helped create and fund the Taliban, then used the existence of the Taliban as an excuse to kill, torture, and drone strike Afghani citizens thereby making them (justifiably) enraged about the US, thus creating further radicalization and pushing people (specifically young men) towards militant extremist ideologies like ISIS, The Taliban, and Al Queda, giving the US more incentive to keep torturing and murdering people in Afghanistan. Why did they do this? To stop the spread of socialism and to steal natural resources like coal and gas from the SWANA (south west Asia and North Africa) region. The US GOVT ADMITS TO THIS AND THEY DO NOT HIDE IT
Here’s a quote from the council on foreign relations!
Here’s a Washington Post article about it
And a short 3 pager on JSTOR

Christine Woods in Flashforward (2009) Playing Cards with Coyote
E8
The discovery of a person in Mark's flashforward impedes a romantic getaway with Olivia. Aaron discovers information about his daughter. Simon and Lloyd attempt to resolve a conflict, and Janis returns to the Bureau.
*First appearance of the the Quantum Entanglement Devices. First Ingrid Alvarez says she heard the men she saw talking about something that "sounded like QED". In the next scene, during the poker game between Simon and Lloyd, Simon mentions "QED" but does not explain what it means. Later, Janis shows Wedeck the new rendering by NSA of Suspect Zero that shows the man had a ring in his finger. In the final scene, we see six rings, but it is not yet revealed that *they* are the Quantum Entanglement Devices.

Israel has worked hard to portray Gaza as a barren wasteland, backwater that is a terrorist stronghold. In reality, Gaza is a beautiful city/region with a rich history that has been decimated from constant bombings and strangled by the blockade. So much of what is being destroyed by Israel are restaurants, bookshops, schools, universities, houses and much of what contributes to life in Gaza and people’s livelihoods. Places that are attached to and filled with the memories of Palestinians in Gaza. It’s not just about making life miserable for the people who live there, but about projecting a particular image of Gaza to the world. This is also similar to how the US has portrayed places like Afghanistan to justify its invasions.

Not to, you know, point out yet again that you Hamas stans don't give a fuck about Palestinians, but....
The chasm between what Gazan activists say about Hamas and October 7, and what Western leftists and Hamas say, is absolutely fucking horrifying.
All of this below is from just one Gazan activist who's been repeatedly tortured, by Hamas, for fighting for his own human rights.
As expected, Hamas began executing Gazans the moment the ceasefire deal was reached, accusing them of "working with the occupation." Just today, they executed 10 Gazans, and they promised to do more in the coming days.
This isn’t a novel tactic; it’s an age-old strategy employed by Hamas to silence critics and instil fear among citizens who oppose their rule. I would greatly welcome a position from the pro-Palestinian movement advocating for pressure on Hamas to end its ongoing oppression of the people in Gaza.
For those who support Hamas and express admiration for the organization in light of the recent ceasefire announcement, it is vital to recognize that in Gaza, tens of thousands of innocent civilians are experiencing profound suffering, while Hamas seems largely unconcerned with their plight. They chose to prioritize sending their terrorists abroad for treatment, insisting that each fighter be accompanied by three family members.
What about the numerous Gazans who were shot and tortured by Hamas throughout the war? Shouldn't they be given the opportunity to receive medical treatment abroad?
You know what would help the Palestinians in Gaza? Condemning Hamas' atrocities. Instead, the protesters routinely chant their desire to "Globalize the Intifada." Apparently they do not realize that the Intifadas were disastrous for both Palestinians and Israelis, just as October 7 has been devastating for the people of Gaza.
They should be speaking up for the innocent victims of Hamas—both Palestinian and Israeli. Instead, they endorse Hamas's ideology with posters announcing resistance "by any means necessary" and chants of "from the river to the sea," effectively glorifying the Al-Qassam brigades, Hamas' military wing, whose ideology is entirely based on the elimination of more than 6 million Israelis from the land.
I really, really try to be polite and explain things most of the time.
But after watching "pro-Palestinians" spend the entire war actively helping silence Gazans and making things worse for them, through pure Hamas-worshipping violent tankie revenge fantasies...
I'm just going to indulge myself in one do better, shithead.
“elon musk did the nazi salute, remember to check on your jewish friends uwu” you all celebrated when jihadi terrorists live-streamed the torture, kidnapping and murdering of israelis on 10/7/2023 but ok
#FUCK hamas#FUCK every single paternalistic leftist who's shat on everyone in Hamas's name#FUCK every single person who refuses to believe anything that isn't pure Hamas propaganda because it fits their preexisting biases so neatly#fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you#none of you actually give a shit about people's lives you just want to fantasize about a violent uprising#you don't even care what the outcome of the violent uprising is apparently#violent uprising that is also a deliberate war crime which will mean all the regular civilians around us risk everything for us?? GREAT#violent uprising that wipes out our group and makes everyone worry about genocide??? NO PROBLEM THAT'S IDEAL#it's not even good activism. it's fucking ludicrous. you just drool over and identify with violence because it makes you feel powerful#the toxic combination of revenge fantasies and imagining yourself as the Most Oppressed is so bad for you#it's the same thing that makes it so intoxicating for Americans to pretend ours is the worst country on earth#bro we fail to make the top 10 under any rubric#and probably not the top 25 either#like have you met Afghanistan? are you familiar with Iran? no you're not#North Korea anyone? i could just go on and on#waaaaa we have a president who's going to actively make life much shittier for several already very marginalized groups#as a trans person i regret to inform you that it's still going to stop sucking in four years. i know it fucking burns believe me i do#but we could be living in a country where someone MUCH worse than Trump has been dictator for decades and decades#this isn't even “it could always be worse” this is “do you know how fucking lucky we are?#we have a voice and visibility in the u.s. that we would have nowhere else because the country dominates so much media#we are able to do things to raise trans awareness and reach out to trans people without even realizing it#so much of the shit trump has said he will do is going to get tied up in courts for fucking ever#and probably gutted or struck down#because that is what happened to most of it last time#and we know more now#the work people did to fight him on rights for undocumented immigrants gives them momentum and experience for this time#because we have checks and balances and voting that is able to fuck up the momentum of people like him and limit his term#i live in California and our governor's new life mission is to screw with Trump constantly#just constantly#piss him off and screw up every fucking thing he does
