Tbh I love how the Toy Story fandom wholeheartedly agrees that Woody's Roundup is the definitive origin of Woody's character and yet almost nobody can agree on a backstory for Buzz outside of what we see in the first two films.

People found deactivated blogs from nazis and other scum, claimed their name and switched their profile picture to a frame from the test footage of Toy Story wich showed an early model of Woody, and started bashing active nazi and scum blogs writing in a cowboy accent
I really can’t believe I’ve been on this hell site for 8 years

Honestly this is why comics like Action Comics #1 is so rare. Kids colored in them, cut them up, and threw them away. They were also printed on what was called Pulp Paper; the cheapest possible paper. It is SO easy to destroy old pulp paper, if you LOOK at it wrong it disintegrates. God forbid you breath on it wrong! They printed thousands of them. But how many have you seen?
What he says: im fine
What he means: in Toy Story 2 Woody is treated as the rarest of the toys from Woody’s Roundup when he’s the main character of the show. That would mean he would have had a higher production number than any of his costars, and in fact probably would have been made for the longest and earliest of the toy line. Stinky Pete, by being the fan unfavorite, must have had a smaller run, and less of his toys would have survived in the 50s as kids would have needlessly damaged or destroyed him making him the rarest of the group and Woody the most common. If anything, the plot of Toy Story 2 should have revolved around Al stealing Woody’s hat as it would have been the item most sought after by collectors as it’s easily lost and not attached to an otherwise common doll. Fundamentally, Al’s apartment should have been littered with Woody dolls in various states of damage, all missing hats and maybe a handful of decent condition Woody dolls needing a hat while Stinky Pete is the rarest and most expensive as a collectors item.

If Disney wants more Toy Story which they clearly do. Why not make a fully animated Woody’s Roundup? It would be so cool to see this show in its entirety. It could be a spaghetti western episodic tv show. It could be fun!

When this came in the movie during our first movie I can still recall my mom stifling a laugh. Like she did worded like it but it clearly meant "yeah you'd like a bedroom like that wouldn't you?"

In Toy Story 2 they worked in Woody not having a gun into"Woody's Roundup" lore : Woody favors using a lasso instead of a gun, calling it "Lasso Law" as shown in this Woody cover.

Woody has a holster but no gun... Did Andy's mom take his because she didn't think it was appropriate? Did he lose it a long time ago? Or were they never made with one? Al doesn't comment on Woody missing any pieces. Or maybe it was an accessory you could buy separately? Though that doesn't seem likely being a toy from the 50s.

the tiktok ban is obviously horrific and an infringement on american rights but it is so fucking funny seeing these politicians freaking out about potential chinese propaganda when tumblr had an actual russian spy ring that all the users knew about and nobody gave a shit

My family and I are currently rewatching Toy Story 2 and once the movie got to the part where Woody discovers that he was the star of a famous 1950s puppet show, I spent a lot of time wondering what happened to the series between the cancellation and the then-present time of the first two movies.
Was there ever an animated spinoff during the Dark Age of Animation? Hanna-Barbera, Filmation and DePatie-Freleng did make a lot of animated spin-offs of live action properties during those times (such as Gilligan's Isle, Tarzan, Batman '66 and Planet of the Apes) so it'd make a bit of sense if Woody's Roundup got similar treatment. Were there any attempts at making a big budget Hollywood movie in the 80s or 90s? The 90s were chock-full of adaptations of old TV shows from the 60s and 70s so again, it'd make sense if Woody's Roundup was optioned at one point. Maybe the movie never happened in that universe because it fell victim to Development Hell and some of the crew or cast jumped ship over to the 1995 Buzz Lightyear movie?
