i L and r for the ask game :333
I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?
time/dimension travel my most beloved u mean sooooooooo much to me holding u softly always mhm mhm
L: How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?
uhhhh it depends. i edit and revise as i go and usually i dont edit that much, which is a bit why writing takes me so fucking long. usually if youre reading it, thats exactly as it looked when i was writing it with maybe a few grammar and phrase corrections and changes lol
R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?
not.. really? i write how i write, i write how i think and see things. the words i put on the page are there bc i think they get the imagery i wanted across best and i dont really think i have any stylistic techniques borrowed from anyone consciously.
though i will say that if i wrote more light hearted stuff, i'd have to go ahead and say the squire's tales by gerald morris, pjo obvi, the wondla series by tony diterlizzi, and, in terms of fic: snipers (if u like fma and wanna see the hp wizards get kinda owned for 80 chapters while ed cusses to high heaven, this is the fic for u), reasearch and smoothies, and this fic which helped me realize how much i love nonlinear narratives lol
ask game!!

Heyo! I recently stumbled across your writeblr and your WIPs all sound super interesting!!
This is super random, but your mash-up pitch for Firekeepers just reminded me that The Search For WondLa even existed, and that I used to really like that book. Makes me sad that I think I donated my copy. That book was cool as hell.
Anyways, I'm super interested in a lot of your WIPs, and your mash-up pitches are really good too!! (I struggle comparing my own writing to things, so I don't have any for my books. I always worry that it's not a good enough comparison or it sounds too self-gradizing, even tho I know it's not.)
~Morrigan 🗡 (@memento-morri-writes)
Hi!!! Thank you so much, I'm glad you like them!!!
WondLa was one of my favorite series bridging middle and high school, and I'm always happy to remind people it exists!! The illustrations in there were one of the reasons I started getting more serious about art, and man, I don't know if you ever used the ebook version, but it had a whole soundscape!! Of the aliens and frogs and forests!! It blew my entire mind as a kid, and still kind of does to this day <3
And no lie, I struggle with blend pitches a lot. I've probably changed the ones on my pinned post six times since I made it. A nice shortcut I've kind of found is figuring out the major inspirations (e.g. with the Millennium Saga, Red Rising opened my eyes to what someone could do with both description and action, voice-wise; A:tLA inspired me a lot with the base of the elemental magic system the MCs use, and influenced a lot of the message/tone I'm aiming for; and WondLa has some particularly similar reveals that get into TMS spoiler territory, and also inspired me to get more Funky with my creatures and peoples all around <3)
If you want to know more about Firebreathers and the rest of the series, I'll be reblogging the intros sometime today!! I just recently finished the draft for the second book, and I'll be starting the third sometime in the next month or so :D

Another wondla fan! Whos your favorite character?
You bet! This is a hard question because I love them all with a different amount of inflection… but I have to say it’s Eight (😍 I want to marry her)
Thanks for the question!

I have been rotating this girl in my head since July and I have FINALLY gotten enough spoons together to make an actual sketchdump of her (traditional, because digital stuff has been too many spoons as of late) 🫠 Introducing my newest OC, Dorothea "Theo" Kitt!
If you're thinking, "But Bean, isn't that just show!Eva?", sort of! Theo exists in book!canon WondLa, but, since all the Evas and Evans are clones, I chose to borrow show!Eva's appearance and use that clone model for Theo-- she was initially Eva Six of Sanctuary 602, but our Eva (taking on the surname Kitt post-canon because she got adopted proper :) ) found her as an infant in a sanctuary that was on the verge of shutting down and rescued her, deciding to raise her herself.
In broad strokes because I want to start expanding on all this, Theo is confident and outgoing; she would be punk if that concept ends up being reinvented in the time period Orbona exists in. She's a graffiti artist and a mechanic and her most beloved possession is a motorcycle-styled hovercraft she calls the Flotsam. (I'm still working on finalizing her coat colors, but the gist of it is that it's a Cærulean coat she modified and painted.) Her best friends are a surly Halcyonus named Mælegra (Mæ to her friends but absolutely no one else) with mad scientist tendencies and a Dorcean with anxiety named Bohlaan, who would rather learn textile-making than continue the hunting traditions of his clan. Theo absolutely adores her family and friends, and would do anything for them. Runs in the family!
I really want to work on some more stuff with Theo, so that'll happen at some point :)

I should post on this blog more, but it’s a little hard to interact with other fans of the series, i.e, I have to put more effort in to find fanart/ramblings/general appreciation for it.
There’s something so bizarrely puzzling about finding that you are responsible for changing the emptiness of an abandoned or underrated piece of work. You have to be the archeologist who uncovers a dusty underground fandom; you are not one who should wait around for the expert to show up—because they will never come. I’ve found that to be true with fixating around WondLa, because there is a push and motivation to provide other people with what you create, in hopes that they might see that there are other people out there who love the same media in similar ways.
This was a long post to say: I am happy you are here, even if you are not as planted in the WondLa fandom as I am, even if you are just following me to be reminded of your once beloved childhood book series, even if you have moved on to other types of media. I will stick around for the enjoyment of the small pool of people who find niche excitement in seeing random posts about a series they haven’t thought about in eons. And I will continue to make over-glorifying and nerdy WondLa posts, I will continue to work on my nearly 15+ half finished fan fictions about the wondla trio and beyond, even though my grueling writers block has followed me for two whole months now. I know that the WondLa tag isn’t all that active, but I will make it so, even if right now I have no motivation.
I am willing to carry this tiny fandom on my weak shoulders! So, again, if you want/have an urge to interact with me about this series, please do! I want to hear all of it. (Mutuals, you are not obligated to if you feel like you have moved on to better and greater things! I am content with limited interaction and spontaneous activity on my blog)
This is also a nagging promise to myself to complete and publish at least some of my works by the end of this summer//
Alas, this post is finally over. Thank you for reading. Congrats on reaching the end. ://)
