In one mission the justice league needed to be close-nit but widespread at the same time, and comms were compromised at the place their mission was set in. Batman had the idea to ask John Constantine about any spells that links multiple people's minds together. Everyone's gonna be okay with this cause y'know they know each and others Identities and stuff except for..
Captain Marvel. To escape the fate of telling the JL about his identity he made then believe he was an ageless God who was magic incarnate, it is believable cause it was shown that there's paintings about the suit even dating back to the stone age.
Billy who's just freaking out had to agree to it cause it would've been VERY suspicious if he didn't, but he thought as long as he stayed in the captain Marvel form everything would've been alright..
There they were. Superman, Batman, Wonderwoman, The flash, Green Lantern, Plastic man (For whatever reason), and.. Billy well in the hero form of course. Stood in a room as the chain-smoking exorcist casted some sort of magic thing that will bind their minds together. And it finally happened, they could each here eachothers own thoughts and stuff.
Plastic man: Hey? Who's voice is that??
Crap. He didn't think about the heavenly twitch cha- no, the God's voices.
Flash: ...Is there a little kid in here, what does he mean by God's?
Zeus: !!! They can hear our voices..
A series of gods jumbled into surprise and started to talk, talk ALOT filling up most of their minds.
And that started a chain reaction with the JL they all started questioning each other, Luckily no one payed attention to Captain who put on his best confused face.
Wonderwoman seemed to be in deep thought.. Why was that voice sound so familiar???
Captain, No Billy was now trying to suppress the God's thoughts, he went into a slight panic abut his identity trying not to think of himself. But you know what happens if you don't wanna think about something? You think about it.
Superman: Who's imagining a young boy right now?
Plastic man: Hm.. Isn't that the Fawcett whizz kid? With the radio show? Wait Captain do you have an interview with him later on?
Captain Marvel changing his thoughts "voice" into his hero persona's ones.
Captain: Oh.. Yeah, yeah definitely. I'm just so excited..
Green Lantern: Hey.. Didn't you appear as a guest last time? How come your appearing again?? This is unfair..
Batman: This is not the point. Captain, do you know where the 5 *He closely listened in to his thoughts* no.. 6 new voices come from? (He most definitely knows about Billy's secret identity one way or another.)
Captain Marvel: Haha no..
(Part 1 of 2!)

The designs of Ladybug and Chat Noir suits is so bad it frowns upon iconic superhero suits.
10, I fully agree. Sure chat noir’s design is a little more unique compared to ladybug’s since he has a cat like belt, he actually wears shoes which look like cat paws, and he wears a bell. But that’s it and there other ways to design him and look more unique to him personally. But ladybug worse since marinette is a fashion designer, yet has the blandest design I ever seen in my life. I mean if it was her first design and the more time she gets used to being a superhero, she’s gets a permanent design to reflect her grown and how comfortable she is being an hero. But the show doesn’t do that at all, it instead just leaves her like that until she’s gets an new superpower and design with it but that design is limit to the lucky charm part of the fight which is lazy to me. Also she is the only one to get an upgrade design and chat doesn’t get one at all!
It not like you don’t have to change the silhouette of their designs because superheroes like Batman or wonderwoman or Superman still have clear and distinct silhouette while still having creative design. But ladybug and chat, they’re just lazy, sure they have a distinct and clear silhouette but don’t have any details to it that could make you feel like it’s their character and fits them. Anyone could wear ladybug suit and chat noir’s suit, it doesn’t feel like an marinette and Adrien specific design or element to them other than their hair.
It why there are other better ladybug or cat designs in the show or the fanon, they look unique and specific to the character wielding that miraculous. Like scarbella or kitty noire (whose design I don’t like personally) but she can look unique than chat noir, himself.
So that’s my opinion, you can disagree with me but that’s how I feel about it.

After watching Shipper'sGuidetotheGalaxy SuperBat videos, I was curious to see what movies I could find and watch online. The following fanfic is inspired by Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, where through the lens of a shipper is like watching Clark and Bruce act as a married couple trying to keep their adopted daughter, Kara, safe.
If you like this story, please be sure to like, reblog and even comment - - bonus points if you want to offer any constructive criticism so that I can get better at writing these two! <3
Now, onto the story!
Water splashed up against the rocks as the waves came rolling in, one after the other. The smell of fresh, exotic flowers lingered in the air as a breeze brushed past Clark. His sigh lifted up from slightly chapped lips as he leaned further down, against the white marble railing that circled around the cliff's edge.
He knew that Bruce and Dianna were right. Of course they were right. Kara couldn’t be around, no-.. She couldn’t be trusted to be around other people until she had control over her own powers.
The scene that had unfolded two nights ago, the destruction that Kara had caused, Dianna was right to point out that no one would be safe until Clark's cousin understood, and mastered, her powers.
They were all lucky that night that the only damage that Kara had caused was directed to that of a couple of trees, a park bench, and a statue of Superman. Him. He remembered how the statue’s head fell to the ground with a thud, cracked the pavement and rolled an inch or two towards the grass. What if that had been Batman or Wonderwoman? Lyla? An innocent…
He closed his eyes, shoulders hunching, as he breathed out. How could he let it come so close to that? How could he risk other people’s lives so carelessly? Feeling his breath start to grow cold, he opened his eyes and watched as the railing in front of him started to freeze over. He had spent years learning how to control himself, but Kara…
Kara was not ready, not yet.
Was he truly ready like he had once thought that he was, when he was ready to blindly trust family over what he knew to be right and rational? Bruce had been sceptical from the beginning and while Clark had teased him about, saying that Bruce was always ready to be so cynical, was he right to do so? Clark’s blind optimism had already led to one evening where someone could’ve gotten hurt.
It just didn’t make any sense. In any other situation, had it been someone else, someone that he didn’t.. know… Clark would’ve been there right beside Bruce and Dianna, making the necessary steps to make sure that a new ally could be safe to be around others. That they had control over their own powers in the way that Kara certainly did not. Was this something that Clark didn’t realise about himself, that he’d be willing to risk others for family?
‘Trust me,’ Bruce had urged him that night at the park, standing just outside of the shadows and just a few feet away from Superman’s own decapitated statue. Trust him.
In the moment when Clark couldn’t trust his own judgement, he could trust in Bruce’s. The closest connection that he had, outside of his own family, and until Kara had come falling from the sky was Bruce. Clark had always counted on Bruce, on and off the field, but could the same be said for him?
Would Bruce still trust him, if he was so quick to be rash and illogical?
“I know that you don’t agree with us bringing her here,” started Bruce as he stepped up onto the landing, close to where Clark was.
“It’s not…” Clark lifted his head up, “that I don’t understand why she’s here, it’s just…”
“You’d rather that she was somewhere closer to home base. We don’t have the resources there. Dianna’s people have offered to help, that is… if you stop interrupting their training.” He made a pointed look to Clark.
“I told you, I don’t want Kara hurt.” Clark frowned. “And Lyla’s vision has me on edge. We don’t know who could be planning an attack or when. We don’t know if it’s someone from within or-..
“Do you really think one of Dianna’s people would betray her like that?”
A silence stretched out between them, only filled by the gentle sound of waves crashing, as their eyes met. Clark imagined that to a lot of people, Bruce hiding his face behind his cowl would make having conversations like this hard, not being able to read the other person’s facial features, not being able to see what was being said in the other person’s eyes. But as the silence dragged on, and they continued to look at each other, Clark could tell that Bruce knew that there was something more that he wasn’t saying. And Bruce was simply waiting for Clark.
“I made the wrong call,” admitted Clark. “I thought she was like me. She wouldn’t hurt anyone, not intentionally,” he quickly noted, noticing how the cowl was slightly pinched above one eye - Bruce raising an eyebrow at him. “But I forgot… Kara has only been here for less than a month. She hasn’t had the time, like I have, to learn how to use her powers, how to control them… I fought you and Dianna because I believed that she would be like me, but I-
“Got it wrong,” finished Bruce.
Clark lowered his head and looked back down at the ocean, letting out a sigh. Getting it wrong meant putting others at risk, something that he swore he would never do again.
“Your blind optimism,” started Bruce, stepping closer over to Clark until their shoulders brushed, “while at times, frustrate me to no ends, is still an admirable quality. Certainly not something you’ll see me emulating anytime soon.” He smirked as he heard Clark let out a soft chuckle.
“Kara is your cousin, Clark, and we will keep her safe. We’ll train her to be able to use her abilities as well as you do, and in time, she’ll prove to be a useful member of our team just like you thought she’d be.”
“That is,” started Clark, “if she wants to be. It has to be her choice.”
“Of course,” agreed Bruce, “Now, what do you say we head back down there? $50 says that Kara will keep her next opponent on their toes.”
Clark smiled. “Reporter salary, remember? And there’s no way that I’m betting against my cousin.”

I've been thinking about this au for a while and just couldn't find it. Anyway I have ideas
1. Ghost King Danny finds out his entire life was orcastrated by the Ancients and Observants for him to take the crown and become a martyr, dying for his people. Danny didn't want to die and rebeled against his fate. His friends and sister die saving him and Dani gets captured.
Jazz had already murdered thier parents when she found out they captured him and had begun experimenting on him. She freed him and calmed him down and waited till he was sleeping to go murder Vlad. She covered up the murders by saying thier parents went on an expedition into the Ghost Zone and never came back and gave a similar excuse when people noticed Vlad was missing.
2. Danny thinks about turning to the bats for help since they are his family, but he assumes the bats would hate him because of his parentage and likes to think he's smart enough not to go about kicking hornets nests.
Then he turns around and breaks Joker out of Arkham and tells him about him and Dani being his and Batmans kids and desperately needing his help.
Joker agrees and they just seem to disappear from Gotham much the bats horror. No one knows where Joker is. He was seen on camera talking to an empty room one minute and gone the next.
3. Danny, Dani and Joker go about destroying and blowing up ancient evil eldrich horrors and freeing the Infinite Realms from tyrannical rule and the bats get involved at some point trying to stop them.
4. The bats get manipulated and lied to by the Ancients and Observants saying that Phantom was a great evil and the Jokers son with godly powers. The bats are not thrilled by this information.
Tim feels something is off but people are a little too rocked by the "Jokers son" tidbit to listen to him
5. Jazz comes back as a ghost and drops truth bombs onto the bats and clears some things up. She also threatens to haunt all of them if they hurt her baby brother.
6. They find out Jazzs body is still technically alive at the Far Frozen and she separated herself from her body to save Danny and as someone suggested in the comments she's the daughter of Wonderwoman and Cheetah, both of whom freak out at the news
7. The Justice League has to get involved at some point. Joker is fighting alongside them and having the time of his life with the toys weapons his son had given him.
8. When all of this is over Joker tries to "play" with his kids- as in he tries to blow them up but they escape.
Cheetah also begins to routinely kidnap Jazz to take her on hunting trips and teaching her how to fight. She enjoys this actually.
Danny and Dani are doing everything they can to avoid all the bats except for Damian who Danny keeps breaking into the manor and giving him tubes of Damians favorite paints as bribes to-and I quote- "not stab me"
Cass just breaks into wherever Danny is and demands to play mario-kart with him.
He accepts it.
Cass is inescapable.
I’ve seen a couple aus where Danny is the son of the Joker and Harley so let me raise this idea: Danny is a clone made of Joker’s and Bruce’s dna. No one involved is aware of this fact until Danny visits Gotham for a school trip and Bruce realizes this kid looks a little too similar to him and secretly takes a dna test on him. How would Bruce react? How would the rest of his family feel about this? How would the JOKER react to this?
oh Joker? Oh he's out for blood.
#dp x dc#not my prompt#but ill probably add more whenever i think about it now that i found this again

It's completely fine dw about it. I haven't been a person so I took a while too I completely understand.
I find something I like and I stick to it lmao
I also have a friend going down the nursing path and she encourages me fully and is so excited and I love her and also she constantly tells me how every single nurse that knew she was going into nursing told her not to. So. Hopefully that works for you, the change could certainly be good. And it's good you have a backup if you need it. And you can ramble about your personal life I don't mind dw.
That's fine I get that!! Personally I would never read green lantern comics because ew green lantern but that's obviously a personal opinion. I get that. And that's fair!! I haven't read anything really with Donna Troy either aside from some parts in a Wonderwoman comic I never finished.
Hand sanitizer and I aren't as close as we could be due to the Multiple times I've sanitised my hands so I didn't have to fully wash them (I knew I only needed to wash them for mentally ill reasons) and then I proceed to actually just make dust appear all over my hands
I think something really sad happens (I promise that's not a spoiler I genuinely have no clue if it's even those books or even what it is) and that intrigues me because I love pain. But the used book is a large hurdle. I'm glad you're enjoying it!! I've only ever heard good things. And yes! I have seen, multiple times, unfortunately that's ✨American only✨ but thank you
Admittedly I haven't read anymore but that's the whole not a person thing it's not a comment on the comics. And that's fair!! I'm very excited for Kate!!
No that's fair I agree I power through so many comics just for Dinah
It should be grape juice honestly I think that would be more fun
Understandable. They need to love each other all the time constantly no matter what.
I wouldn't spoil it anyway but I can't remember. It's cool that you're having new bonus ideas it's always interesting to see what people think!!
Recently at my work we got a full renovation so we had construction workers in and there was this one guy I called Music Man Jake and he had Tons of batman tattoos (it might've just been 2 I don't remember) but I said "so you like batman?" And he said "yeah, y'know why? Because he can beat superman which means he's the best" and I was like no I don't think that's what that means I think they can both be beaten and said "yeah by who?" And I told him that I'm pretty sure there's like canon instances where Wonderwoman beat both of them and he told me that that was fake and I was lying.
It IS a strange one yeah that's for sure
well i have unfortunately since received incredibly different and more drastic work change news but i have new plans i place to some extent, but ultimately my goal to make it through the holidays (very busy time for my job) has remained. and 2024 will be. very different for me but i’ll get there when i get there. honestly it’s not entirely a bad thing for me personally but it does objectively suck. but putting off thinking about the full extent of all that bc like i said. gotta get thru december. but yeah that’s a little life update for ya.
you’re valid! honestly i probably wouldn’t read green lantern comics if i didn’t have friends who love them just bc they never really. called to me before? but one thing i love is trying media beloved to my friends. and with comics especially it’s been a lot of reading things that are recommended to me because there’s way too much for me to choose on my own.
like i said i met donna in the titans tv series (another questionable comic adaptation that i unfortunately am so attached to 😔) however figuring out what to read for her does feel incredibly confusing bc she’s not like. a big dc player ig? idk we’ll see what i end up doing i have one donna troy special run open on a tab on my phone to try.
SO valid re:hand sanitizer. it’s def more of a temp fix for me when i don’t have access to properly wash my hands until i can actually wash them. which yeah maybe not the best but like. it’s manageable for me which is all that really matters.
i have finished the first raven cycle book and kinda started the second and something really sad happening definitely would fit the vibe so far, i wouldn’t say anything incredibly sad has really happened yet but there’s def the looming constant of something that’s supposed to happen at some point bc of psychic visions and all that. i started on the second book but haven’t really had a chance to read much of it however i’m heading back to my parents tomorrow so i’m gonna listen to more on the drive. i think my only complaint of the series is there’s so much concentrated Teenage Boy (and Teenage Rich Boy too) and it can be a little annoying at times bc like. the two rich boys. they have money. go to therapy. consider alternatives. think things through a little more. but even they are growing on me (one more slow than the other but it’s happening) but really it’s been fun to read so far!
:/// aw it being american only sucks i’m sorry.
again you are so valid (i say that a lot i know ahsjjdsj) re: not being a person & also not having read any more bombshells. life can be a whole lot and boy can it be hard living in it sometimes so i completely understand. and the good thing is bombshells isn’t going anywhere so there’s no rush!
okay ive now finished injustice year 5 & ground zero! i didnt make any notes this time bc i kinda was just powering thru year 5 and then i binged all of ground zero in one sitting. ground zero i just read the other night and was more enjoyable being told through harley's pov however god putting up with joker was very hard im glad harley finally was able to tell him no and also beat the shit out of him. her harley horde was so cute and i loved that for her. also seeing the alternate universe justice league (or as i called them, the REAL justice league) seeing MY diana again <333 and CLARK !! god i missed that ah shucks goofball. and i really loved the ending of harley and ivy going off to the alternate earth to help that version of harley overcome her attachment to the joker <3333 ALSO HARLEY IVY ARE ROMANTIC!!! LOVED THAT!!
in my head i’m picturing that music man jake’s birth name is like. robert or something but music man jake had a better ring so that’s what he is referred to by.
i can’t remember what it’s from (i think it might be the justice league animated show??) but there’s definitely somewhere a bit where bruce is talking about his contingency plans if any of the core JL went rogue and he had these boxes full of said contingencies but he literally like made a point of showing that diana’s box is empty because she has no weakness. and that’s remained permanently burned into my brain ever since. i absolutely believe she is stronger than superman. in some/most(?) continuities she’s literally a demigoddess. clark’s just lucky bc earth’s sun is built different 😭. but yeah she did in fact very much kick clark’s ass in injustice and was only beaten in the fight bc sinestro attacked her from behind once she already had superman on his knees. so yeah. she can definitely beat superman. that’s my no 1 takeaway from injustice year four. (and then REAL diana being able to kick injustice diana’s ass tells me that real diana CAN ALSO kick superman’s ass should the need come) but yeah. i do really love wonder woman akshakbddjs
i have to say i’m a little hesitant to start injustice 2 just bc i *liked* how year five ended and i don’t want it to be undone BUT i wanna see HER (dinah) so i will read it. i’m just debating trying year zero first, any thoughts on if i should wait to do year zero until after injustice 2 or am i fine to read it now?
hope you’re doing at least somewhat well all things considered!!

Daughter of wonderwoman au where marinette finds out her mother is actually Diana and somehow it ends up with her meeting/being introduced to the batfam maybe because she has super strength and is seen yeeting some bad guys who tried to mug her... Or something.
“... you are running from your problems, Mari,” Adrien’s exasperated voice reminded his best friend. Again. She ignored him, and he threw his hands up in exasperation. “Look, you don’t have to do anything about it! Nobody would hold it against you if you decided to just, ignore that you found anything out at all. But you need to actually think about what we just found out and decide whether or not you’re gonna do anything—“ he side-stepped a piece of trash that went flying in his direction. “—or if you’re gonna move on and pretend nothing happened.”
“Isn’t that what I’m doing?” Marinette shot back, pushing her bangs out of her face and tying her hair back with one hand.
“No, you’re currently hiding away in Gotham to avoid your parents while you beat up every random group of idiots who thinks you’re an easy mark,” he retorted. Another wannabe kidnapper went flying in his direction, making him sigh and side step again. She had thrown that one with only her one free hand, showing just how upset she was. “You’re ignoring everything in your life, which is not what we meant we said you should get a little space.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Marinette dropkicked the last criminal into unconsciousness before stepping back and putting her hands on her hips. She looked over at the now seven passed out men in the alleyway, and the one very frustrated ex-model pinching the bride of his nose. “I think I’m coping just fine.”
“It’s better than being forced to suppress all of your emotions, sure,” Adrien reluctantly agreed. “But not by much. Your angry rampage through Gotham has already attracted more attention,” he raised his hand to point at a nearby rooftop. Several shadows lurked there, looming over the building’s edge. “Which, might I add, is exactly why I told you not to come to Gotham.”
“You’re the one who followed me here,” she shot back before turning to the shadowy figures above them. “Go ahead and come down! But it was self defense, and you can’t arrest or beat me up for defending myself!”
The first figure to drop down straightened your just as quickly, revealing the imposing figure of none other than Batman himself. The little white eyes on his cowl seemed to narrow on their own as he looked down at her.
“That might be true, but I’m sure you know my policy on metas in my city,” he grumbled back at her. He wasn’t necessarily threatening, but he definitely wasn’t welcoming either. With all of his limbs hidden behind the cocoon that was his cape, Marinette would never be able to predict his next move if he did decide to fight. Not that she seemed particularly worried about that as she crossed her arms over her chest and met his glare evenly.
“Oh, do you own this city now? I wasn’t given the memo,” she retorted. “And considering I didn’t even know I was a meta until last week? I think I deserve a little slack. I’m angry and if people think the tiny little girl in pink is an easy kidnapping target, then it’s their fault for making themselves into the perfect practice dummies for me to try out my newly discovered strength on.”
Adrien saw the eyes on Batman’s mask narrow even further. Marinette wasn’t exactly at her most charismatic at the moment, and Adrien didn’t wanna get the both of them into a bad relationship with the experienced superhero who always seemed to know things he shouldn’t know. So he stepped up quickly, getting in between Marinette and the Bat and holding his hands up in a placating gesture.
“Okay, Monsieur Batman,” Adrien started slowly, making sure his posture was impeccable and his smile bright. “She’s telling the truth, even if she’s not... the most tactful about it right now. She just found out some very concerning things about her origin and Gotham is the best place for her to hide from her problems and let loose a little pent up aggression. But— well,” he grimaced. “We didn’t intend to run into you guys, but maybe it’s a good thing we did.”
“How so?” Batman was clearly still incredibly suspicious of the both of them and wasn’t giving an inch. So Marinette rolled her eyes (she was still very moody) and leaned around Adrien so she could get a good look at the monochromatic hero.
“I thank my lucky spots that we ran into you, Batman!” She said monotonously. “Me and Adrien are paw-sitively excited at this opportunity.”
Batman. Froze.
Not only were those two lines the very first lines ever spoken to him by two foreign heroes a few years ago (with a few key words changed to protect identities), but they had become their code phrase for whenever they made calls to one another outside of their costumes. All at once it seemed to hit him— the golden hair and bright green eyes on the boy, the blue-black hair and normally super-focused bluebell eyes on the girl that were currently sporting very uncharacteristic frustration. Their heights. Their builds. All of this info flowed through his mind and compared to the information stored in his memory, and it only took the span of two seconds for everything to click.
Suddenly Batman was at full attention, back straight instead of looming over them and eyebrows clearly raised high under his cowl.
He knew Chat Noir and Ladybug would never take a random vacation to Gotham. Ladybug herself had nearly waxed poetic about how much the city depressed her just from the pictures she saw online. If she had willingly come to visit, it was more than to just blow off some steam.
“Batcave?” He asked, earning a relieved look from Adrien and a moody silence from Marinette.
“Please,” Adrien agreed. “You can probably help us, actually.”
—*—*—*—*—*
Marinette leaned back in the metal debriefing chair, legs up on the table and looking for all the world as the picture of pure teenage rebellion and angst. Coincidentally, Red Hood was in the exact same position in the chair next to her.
Batman and all of his other bats and birds were in the cave with the two off-duty Parisian heroes. Everyone except Adrien and Marinette still had their masks on, since the two Parisians were still not privy to their identities. Yet.
To be fair, the bats hadn’t known the identities of the two miraculous users either before today.
“Cha Noir,” Batman started, only to get a head shake from the blond boy.
“Just call me Adrien. Chat’s out of the bag—“ he ignored the groans at the pun and soldiered on, “—so might as well use my real name.”
Batman nodded. “Adrien, then,” he amended. “Why are you and Ladybug really in Gotham?”
Adrien sighed. “I wasn’t lying, before. Marinette,” he gestured to his hero partner. “Just found out some distressing family news. Since HawkMoth is gone, she doesn’t need to repress her negative emotions anymore. But she also didn’t want to be around her parents while she processed everything. I told her to choose any other city— really, I begged— but she insisted on coming to Gotham.”
“The never ending cloud cover and constant rain seem thematic,” she finally spoke up, reaching into her big over-the-shoulder bag and pulling out a large envelope. She threw it to Batman, making the thin package slice through the air like a knife. To nobody’s surprise the seasoned hero easily caught the projectile between two fingers. He looked at the envelope and back to Marinette, silent questions floating in the air between them. Marinette decided to answer at her own pace.
“That’s what we found out. You see, one of my friends is a huge science nerd. A genius. And he wanted to compare DNA samples between us to see if there were any genetic components that determined a person’s suitability towards certain Miraculous or other magical artifacts over others. It was supposed to just be a fun side project that he didn’t expect any breakthroughs on. He mostly just wanted to satisfy his own curiosity. But instead of finding out if our DNA was linked to the miraculous, he found out that my parents are not biologically my parents.”
“Hence the whole just finding out that you’re a meta thing, right?” Nightwing spoke up, fully invested in the story. “Did they never say you were adopted before?”
“It’s not in the system,” she replied easily. “My parents have all the documentation to prove that I’m their biological child, except I’m not. When I confronted them about it, they caved and admitted that they had adopted me in secret and covered it up. Apparently a friend of theirs was involved in something illegal, and,” she waved at the envelope that Batman was now opening. “The details of what we were able to dig up are in there. The summary is this; their friend was part of a secret, illegal experimentation to create clones that could defeat the Justice League—“ the air seemed to get sucked out of the room as soon as those words left Marinette’s mouth. Everyone seemed to know exactly what she was talking about. “—a group called CADMUS. They made me, as apparently one of their early attempts. But I didn’t exhibit any of the powers they were looking for, or any meta traits at all, and my body refused to mature at the rate they wanted. They had no use for a seemingly normal human baby that they managed to clone, so they were preparing to kill me and start over. That’s when my parent’s friend stole me, not wanting to kill an infant, and begged my parents to take me in and pretend I was theirs. Low and behold, it turns out that my DNA just needed a very specific series of emotions to unlock it’s latent abilities.”
“Those emotions being..?” Red hood trailed off, earning a wolfish smile from Marinette.
“Intense anger, betrayal, and confused frustration closely followed by the desire to punch other people’s faces in.”
“That last one is just an assumption,” Adrien chimed in. “And maybe not accurate. But the first three, our scientist friend was able to confirm. The rapid experience of a lot of negative but action-oriented emotions released whatever had been holding back the powers in her DNA from expressing themselves,” he had switched to French so that he could explain everything exactly as Max had told it to them, but he knew all of them were fluent anyway so it was fine. They nodded along, processing the information.
The crinkling of paper drew everyone’s attention back to Batman, who had been flipping through the detailed break down of everything they had found about Marinette’s situation and how she was made by CADMUS.
“Uh,” Red Robin nervously spoke up. “What’s up, Batman?”
“Your genetic donors...” Batman breathed, getting a wink and finger guns from Marinette.
“Yup. Isn’t that just the most fucked up thing you’ve ever seen? They were clearly trying to make someone who could destroy the world.”
“That makes me nervous,” Nightwing admitted, getting up and going to get a look at the papers himself. “It can’t be that ba—“
When even Nightwing was left agape, everyone else who wasn’t in on it found themselves squirming.
“Just tell the rest of us, already!” Robin demanded after the silence stretched just a bit too long.
“The unknowing genetic donors that CADMUS used to make me,” Marinette spoke up, still with her legs up on the table. “Are a very mad-scientist’s-wet-dream combination of Lex Luthor, Bruce Wayne, and Wonder Woman.”
“We don’t even know why they added Bruce Wayne’s DNA,” Adrien admitted. “Although our scientist friend thinks it’s because of physique. His hypothesis is that, in order to support the genes of Wonder Woman, they had to add male genetics that could support the production of a very high muscle mass and would lean towards easy development of a very athletic body. Lex might be evil-scientist smart, but he’s a string bean. But if he added the DNA of another multi millionaire who just so happens to maintain a ridiculously fit body without putting any obvious work into it,” Adrien shrugged. “Then maybe the clone would be able to support Wonder Woman’s genetics and that of two human donors without falling apart.”
“So I’m ‘the clone’ now, huh?” Marinette snarked, earning an exasperated eye roll from her friend.
Batman just stared at the both of them for a moment. He walked away without a word, and came back with a fresh needle and a box. He placed it on the debriefing table.
“Can I do a paternity test myself?” He asked, his voice suspiciously less gruff than normal. “I trust the both of you, but I rather be safe than sorry with something like this.”
The both of them just stared at him in confusion. They traded a glance, and finally Marinette shrugged and moved to sit in her chair properly. Her shirt was already short sleeved, so she just held her arm out so Batman could easily get a blood sample.
“Sure, why not. But do you just have Lex Luthor or Bruce Wayne’s DNA sitting around to compare, or—“ she shut up when she watched Batman take off his glove and roll his own sleeve up. Realization slowly sunk in as he asked Nightwing to take a blood sample from him.
“Holy shit,” she breathed, eyes wide. “You’re— and Luthor doesn’t know— holy shit this is even worse than I thought,” Marinette rambled, not even noticing as Red Hood moved forward and took a small blood sample from her.
Adrien put a hand over his face and just laughed for a moment hysterically. “Oh my god,” he looked over at Marinette. “You could take over the world.”
“I have the blood of Batman AND Wonder Woman on MY side,” Marinette joked back, also hysterical.
When the bat’s high tech equipment was able to come back with a positive result only a few minutes later, Marinette and Adrien had to sit on the floor and just let it all sink in. Which Batman did not at all help by immediately unmasking himself and trying to make a proper introduction.
“I wanna go beat up random thugs again,” Marinette whined, pulling at her hair. “I’ll put on a mask, whatever, but just please let me punch people. I need to punch people right now.”

@jedipirateking I actually agree with a lot of what you said. Like a big part of Danny Phantom is fanon. The cartoon is good but it was goofy and didn't have much worldbuilding. It is the fandom that brought it to where it is today. The fanarts, the fanfics are just amazing considering they are made by people that doesn't get any move or whatsoever.
But I have to agree some people write Danny and Dc characters so out of character it is hard to read them without rolling my eyes. Like John Constantine. I don't think people realize how strong that guy actaully is. I personally think he can take Danny but people write him as this guy fearing the Ghost King to the point he would do everything Danny asks.
And don't get me started on the Justice League incompetence thing dc dp fandom has going on. Everytime I open a fic and see it has good grammar, good plot, good everything until we are introduced to justice league and they write superman as this know-it-all who doesn't care about other's opinions, naive and bends himself to the government, or wonderwoman as this brutal war machine, or batman as this emotionless paranoid guy whose whole stick is that he knows better than whole JL combined, I just nope out of there.
Dp fandom has elements I dislike too. I personally don't like obsessions. I think they completely destroyed characters instead of improving them. I dont like Dani being called 'Ellie' or that she can be considered Danny's daughter. Danny was like fifteen when he met Dani and she was like 12. And no, it does not matter she is a clone. When it comes to maturity, she has the mental state of a 12 year old. Not a few months old baby.
There is also Danny 'fixing' Jason in minutes of meeting him. Another thşng that completely destroys a character.
Now, all of this is not to say people can't write everything I said above because they can. I am a firm believer people should be allowed to write and draw what they want. And as much as I hate these things, I will still read and rb them because fanfics in dp dc are so good.
Overall, all I'm saying fics people write would be a lot more great than they already are if people respected the characters and took them a bit serious.
Family Dinners - dpxdc
"Holy shit, you're Bruce Wayne!" Danny gaped, jabbing a finger at the man sitting at the head of the table.
The bustling dining room goes silent as everyone turns to look at him.
"Danny, who did you think was going to be here?" Tim asks, disbelief plain in his voice and Danny feels his face flush red.
"Sorry, I, uh, I guess I just never put it together. Tim Drake-Wayne. Wayne Manor. It, uh, makes sense now." He laughs sheepishly and scrubs at his neck before slumping back down into his chair.
"Well," Tim says with an indulgent sigh, "at least I know you're not just friends with me for my connections."
"Yeah, I'm really sorry, I just never thought about it, I guess."
Danny sinks lower as everyone around him laughs. Come to dinner, he said, the food is the best, he said, ignore the family, he said. Danny really wishes he'd listened to Tim and just ignored them—almost as much as he's regretting accepting the offer in the first place—but... he's having dinner with Batman.
Ancients, that's so weird!
The last time he saw Batman was in the future and, suffice it to say, it was not going well. There hadn't really been time for family dinners there.
Wait. Family dinners?
He peers around the table, openly gawking at everyone as it all clicks into place.
"Everything alright, Danny? Now realising who everyone else is?" Tim asks with a roll of his eyes.
"Uh... something like that..." Danny mumbles as everyone laughs again.
From further down the table, the smallest Wayne scoffs and clicks his tongue.
"I thought you said he was smart, Drake?"
"So, you all do it, too, then?" he asks, ignoring the jibe. Danny's only a little bit jealous as he thinks of how much easier they must have it, how much easier it'd be if his family had been on his side, too. "You all work together?"
"Nah," Dick says from across the table with a brilliant grin. "Tim's the only one that works with Bruce, we all have different jobs. I'm a police officer in Bludhaven."
"Disgusting." Danny blurts out without thinking—because seriously, what kind of self-respecting vigilante would also be a police officer?—before clapping a hand over his mouth. "Sorry."
The whole table laughs again, the loudest being the blonde girl a few spaces down from Dick. Look, Danny wasn't really paying attention to names when they were all paraded in front of him. Dick only gets remembered because his name is a joke.
Come on, Danny, recover!
"That's, uh, not what I meant, though."
"Oh?" Dick asks, cocking his head slightly to the side. Is it Danny's imagination or does his smile tense slightly?
"Yeah, I mean like, you know, in costume. It must make it so much easier to have everyone together like this."
"Costume? What do you mean?"
Yeah, Danny's not imagining it, everyone tenses up at that. It's really only now that he's realising that this probably isn't how he should bring up that he knows about their... night time activities. In fact, he probably shouldn't be bringing it up at all.
"Uuhhh..." Danny looks wildly around the table as he continues making his stupid noise. Think, think, think! There must be a way out of this!
"Danny?" Tim asks, looking concerned.
"Oh, Ancients, this isn't how I wanted it to go at all," he mutters, slipping even further into his chair. He's almost on the floor now and he so, so wishes it could just swallow him up.
His real first meeting with Batman was meant to be cool! He had planned to be Phantom, maybe save them from a tight spot, prove his worth as a mysterious and powerful ally as thanks for the help Batman gave him in the future.
"Danny, what are you talking about?" Tim starts tugging on his sleeve in an attempt to pull him back up from his pit of despair.
Eventually, Danny relents and sits up straighter, hiding his face in his hands and whining all the while.
"I'm sorry, I just didn't expect him to be here and it threw me off so now I look stupid and it's so embarrassing!" he wails, flailing his arms wide. "Why wouldn't you warn me that Batman was your adopted dad, Tim? Couldn't you have let me know?"
"I'm sorry, what? Danny are you alright? There's no way Bruce can be Batman, look at him!"
"Yeah," the blonde girl laughs from the bottom of the table, "look at him! That's a wet noodle of a man! Batman can actually do things, B is incapable of pretty much everything."
"Thank you, Stephanie," Bruce sighs, massaging his forehead.
It's... Those are the first words Danny's heard Batman say since everything went down and it's enough to knock him out of his embarrassment.
It's really good to hear his voice again. Especially now, when it's strong and healthy and full of personality—even if that personality is little more than a tired father right now—far better than how it had been, at the end.
Danny sits up, back straight, and grins. He's got this. He remembers it perfectly. Some people count sheep to fall asleep, Danny repeats his mantra to be certain that he'll never forget it.
"Gamma alpha upsilon tau iota mu epsilon, 42, 63, 28, 1 colon 65 dash 9."
Once again, the whole table falls into silence.
"Holy shit..." breathes the other D name (Duke? Danny's pretty sure he's Signal) from opposite Stephanie. "Isn't that...?"
"The time travelling code." The littlest Wayne says stiffly. "We have met in the future?"
"That's not just the time travelling code, Dami." Dick says, looking between Danny and Bruce. "That's the family time travelling code."
Danny's grin freezes in place.
"I'm sorry, what?"
"1 colon 65 dash 9." Dick explains, still flicking between him and Bruce. "It means you've been adopted into the family and we should all treat you as such, no questions asked."
"Tell you what, I'm about to ask a question." Danny says, dumbstruck. "You just told me it was a code to identify time travellers, not anything about being adopted! What the hell, B?"
Bruce looks about as shellshocked as Danny feels.
"We must have been close," he says finally, after opening and closing his mouth like a fish out of water a few times.
"No! Not that close!" Danny reels back, taking a deep breath ready to refute it all, but... "Well, I mean, you found me when I first got stuck, and you helped me get better despite being... And then we fought together against the, uh, bad guy, before he, um, he... before you couldn't."
An uncomfortable beat passes while they all pick up on what Danny tried so hard not to say.
"So, you're not from the future, then, you travelled there and came back?" Tim asks, breaking the tension and leaning forward with a glint in his eye.
"Yeah, it was a whole end of the world thing, but don't worry about it," Danny says with a hand wave, "It's all kosher now, won't ever happen."
"What did happen?"
"Seriously, don't worry about it, we cool."
"How long in the future was it?"
"About ten years? You were pretty spry for an old man, B," Danny laughs, wishing they'd get off the topic of what happened and get back to the adoption bit.
Everyone shares degrees of a cautious smile as they relax out of the shock, and Dick—whose grin is the biggest—says, "No wonder you got the family code, you're already riffing on him like one of us. How long were you there for?"
"A week, before I managed to get back to my present and stop him then."
"A week? Jeez, B, that has to set some kind of record, seriously."
"Oh!" Danny says, sitting bolt upright and blinking in surprise before pointing at Dick and bouncing in his seat. "You're Nightwing!"
"What?"
"That's exactly what Nightwing said when Batman told me the code! Makes so much more sense now."
Dick laughs and claps his hands, delighted.
"You were not formally adopted?" The grumpy small one—Dami?—asks, his face pinched.
"I didn't even know I was informally adopted."
"And your parents? Are they alive or dead?"
"Damian, stop—"
"They were dead in the future, but they're alive now." Danny says, looking down. He fiddles with the tablecloth, twisting the fabric around his fingers as he fights down the pang of sadness that he always feels when he thinks of them now. He forces a bright smile on his face and hopes it doesn’t look too strained. "I just, uh, can't talk to them much, anymore."
"Damian," Dick warns, "1 colon 65 dash 9. Treat them as family, no questions asked."
"This is Damian treating him as family, the little turd has no manners." Tim scoffs, rolling his eyes, but he gently bumps shoulders with Danny to knock him out of his funk. Danny can't help but send him a watery smile.
"I have the most exemplary manners, Drake, unlike some people." Damian spits, crossing his arms with a pout. "I was merely ascertaining his status to see how he could possibly fit into the family."
"I know this is all a bit sudden, Danny," Bruce smiles, ignoring Damian and reaching out to lay a warm hand on his arm, "for all of us. But if I felt strongly enough to give you that code after spending a week with you in the future, then you are more than welcome in this family, if you so choose it. I think I can speak for all of us when I say we'd like to get to know you a bit more."
"I know a threat when I hear it, Bruce." Danny snorts. "But, yeah, I get it. I'm sorry this is all so weird, it really wasn't how I wanted to find you again, but... I'm glad I did."
"So are we, Danny." Dick says, with a warm smile. "And formally or not, 1 colon 65 dash 9 means you're family. Welcome to the fun house! No take backs or refunds, sorry. You're stuck with us."

The other fun thing from today: Team Living's new commander arrived unexpectedly in the mail, along with one of Team Dead's reinforcements getting rediscovered in my unpacking.
#personal skuun#Hux is pissed of course#Who put this guy in charge of him?#it was bad enough that Captain America punched him in the face last week when they're supposed to be on the same side#I really need to do a photo setup with Thrawn sitting on fallen Hux and Chirrut sitting on a stormtrooper#With them both drinking tea and discussing the other's imminent surrender#I also need Chirrut kicking Kanan's ass soundly with nothing but a stick#when Chirrut and Baze joined team dead it got a LOT more powerful#and Team Dead has Earth 2 wonderwoman and all the dinosaurs.#Thrawn is intrigued by Skeletor#is the leader of team dead perhaps a fallen Chiss warrior?#(No Thrawn. The answer is no.)#Tony Stark has many opinions in the key of Who Hired This Bitch Who Believes In Letting the Enemy Hit You First?#Nick Fury is inclined to Agree.#Kanan is likewise not thrilled about working with his former enemy.#There's much drama in team living.#what team you're on doesn't change whether you're a hero or villain#Thrawn scares Baze. Reposted from @wonderwomanfeats After Clark takes quite the beating from zod and faora, Wonder Woman steps in and evens the playing field. Diana makes Zod pay for his heat vision blast by deflecting it back at him and scorching Faoras face with the heated blade, causing the kryptonian to cry out in pain. General Zod sees the futility in trying to kill Clark, agreeing with Diana that she would kill faora than him if he caused anymore harm to Superman. ⚔️ Ps, we all know Superman could’ve put up a much better fight than this, but remember this was when they both where just starting out in new 52, note what zod said, “ he’s powerful, but he isn’t trained”. Don't know of any post like that but I still want to make some ideas about it!
Johnnie 13 is subbing for flash, racing through the streets on his bike and tying up the rogues with shadow.
Ember is subbing for black canary, beats them up with her guitar and blasts them with her music
Walker tried subbing for batman but had to get pointdexter in to assist him as a robin to keep him in line. Frightknight declined saying he might cause problems for batman if he subbed.
Ghost writer filled in for constantine and more or less did the exact same job banishing non mortal threats back to where they came from.
Pandora decided to look after her descendants territory while wonderwoman was gone. As such, Washington dc is still going strong
Princess Dorothea surprised everyone by volunteering to look after atlantis for aquaman, most villains are shocked to see a ghostly dragon happily swimming around the ocean like a sea serpent.
Most interesting was boxy volunteering to look after the watchtower and monitor earth -'it may not be square shaped but I can feel this entire space station as a giant container holding things together, now don't mock me or I'll let technis turn the place into a giant mech!'
Desiree reluctantly agreed to stand in for a green lantern, none of the surrounding planets are fun enough to grant wishes, she's pretty bored when she's not fighting threats
Technis is busy trying to find the missing hero's since danny promised he could take over the enemy's tech for some fun (technis is really eying that warworld floating out in space!)
Looking for ANOTHER post this time dcxdp
So all the heroes went missing except Phantom and he has ghosts temporarily take over for the heroes like Skulker in Metropolis. Dani was also taken cause she's part of the JL and Phantom accidentally became king of the world and the JL were in some space prison or something

A New Start ch.11

chapter 11
Jason pov
‘So how do I break it to Bruce about Mari and me?’ (knocks on door) “Hey B so a little or should I say big birdy said that we have someone coming to the manor in a month? And someone else said that as well. Is it true?”
“Jason…yes someone is invited as a guest. Please stop. As you can see, I have a pile of work that needs to be done. I do not need another Damian scenario about the upcoming guest.” Bruce said tiredly
“One more thing. Is this guest somehow related to MDC because if so we need to talk” Jason said in a serious tone. At the notion of this Bruce straighten himself up and gave his undivided attention at the topic.
“What do you know about MDC?” Bruce said staring in Jason’s eyes.
“Funny thing is that. MDC, Marinette is my honorary sister.” Jason said trying to avoid Bruce’s eyes.
“Explain”
“So, remember last year when I went to Europe for a mission. Well…I sort of had to go into hiding and I went to Paris.” Bruce nodded. “So when I was in Paris, apparently they have a supervillain that is terrorizing the city and the local superhero ‘Ladybug’ is handling him.”
“Wait there is a supervillain in Paris. How was I not aware of that?” Bruce deadpanned.
“Exactly!! So, I found Ladybug, who by the way is Damian’s age. I was furious who puts that on a child except you Bruce. So, the reason was ‘The Justice League heroes have emotion and Hawkmoth is a villain who uses the negative emotions of people either sad, depressed, lonely, stressed, or angry. We cannot have that happen to the JLA hero’s because I don’t know if I can defeat them’ which I understood but didn’t so as the Red Hood I am helping her defeat Hawkmoth. And she would like me to intervene if the JLA starts to be in Paris or anything revolving with Paris. Also, she already talked to Wonderwoman. But I did convince her to accept outside help from us if we do not go to Paris.” Jason said explaining the circumstances in Paris.
“Understood, I will have Tim do a full scan of Paris so we can arrest this Hawkmoth villain. And Jason when something like this happens. It is appreciated that you tell me” Bruce said agreeing to the terms.
“So, exploring Paris I saw a teenager (Marinette) getting bullied by her peers. So, I intervened and put a stop to it. Out of the kindness of her heart, she grabbed me by the arm and took me to her family’s bakery. Don’t tell Alfred this but it was delicious.” Jason looked at Bruce in the eyes stating that it was better than Alfred’s.
“So, the parents of Mari asked who I was and I told them that I was a tourist from America. And somehow, they asked me about my childhood-good job Bruce-so they made me their honorary son since I am too old to be adopted. Which made me spend two months with the family and connect with Mari who I cherish more than anyone in the world” Jason said.
“So, you are the honorary son of the Dupain-Cheng’s and Mari is your sister. Which you have been hiding from everyone.” Bruce summarized
“Yeah, basically. And why are Dick and the replacement obsessing over who MDC is? I was literally ambushed by them when I told them about my jacket”
“Dick and Tim have this ongoing bet between the two of them trying to see who can get an MDC original first. So, the last gala that I attended Jagged Stone was there and he gave me his contact in case if I decide to host a charity concert. And his niece Marinette did not put that she was MDC in her application so Jagged was worried that she will not get accepted. Also, I would like to test Dick and Tim to see if they can figure out that Ms. Dupain-Cheng is MDC.” Bruce said fondly.
“Before I leave, Bruce do NOT try to adopt Marinette. Also, if she starts to feel unwelcome or hurt I will not be afraid to shoot someone.” Jason threatened while he promptly left. ‘So now, how do I make Dick look like a complete dick?’

Tim’s Secret Weapon: Chapter 2
I’ve been slightly obsessed with @ozmav ‘s Damien Wayne/Marinette Dupain-Cheng pairing as of late, and just saw a post that has inspired me more than anything else has in months, so I felt the need to write it
Summary- Tim has always seen the numbers floating above people’s heads, been able to perceive their threat levels with a single glance. After being a hero for so long he thought he was desensitized to seeing high numbers above people’s heads until Damien brings a new friend home.
Part 1
Part 2 (HERE)
Part 3
_______________________________________________________________________
Of all the ways Tim had imagined his secret getting out, he had to say that his family finding his research into Damien’s girlfriend was pretty low on the list, practically nonexistent. Especially since it didn’t take a genius to figure out what they thought his interest in her was more than a little creepily obsessive in the worst way possible.
Though he had to admit that the evidence against him didn’t paint a pretty picture. Any other twenty three year old with this much info on a sixteen-year-old would no doubt be placed on a list. Though he’s pretty sure from the white-knuckled grip his brothers had on their weapons, they’d rather rip him a new asshole if he didn’t give them an answer they liked soon.
He settled for an even, “I do background checks on people that spend time here, why is it surprising that I have one on Marinette?”
He was fairly certain that the others would be able to hear his heartbeat if it started pounding any faster. He worked with heroes of all shape and size, seen powers of all types, faced down villains of every magnitude and yet the idea of his secret getting out terrified him more than anything he’d ever experience. Bruce gave him a steely look, “Tim, your file on Rah al Ghul is 3.4 GB, your file on Marinette Dupian-Cheng is nearly 8 GB.”
“Not to mention,” Dick’s voice was dripping with so much venom Tim couldn’t help but wince, that didn’t sound like his carefree brother, “You went to great lengths to hide the check from us. You’re paranoid, but this is different Tim.”
“I just wanted to talk to Marinette about something before I put it on the server…” He snapped, trying to shift the fear clawing at his very essence to anger, “Just because I did background on her doesn’t mean she’s not allowed to have her privacy. She… ”
He knew it was a flimsy excuse, but the glares getting icier around him made everything instinct he ever had told him to run. He can see why Bruce had said no costumes tonight, he would have been on his motorcycle halfway to Star City by now if he was wearing his mask.
“Tim,” Bruce cuts in, “Just tell us what’s going on. We can’t help if you don’t tell us.”
He clenched his hands into his pants, trying to get them to stop shaking. He had no choice, did he?
“Okay,” He agreed, “I need to grab something from my room, first.”
“Todd, Go with him,” Damien ordered. Tim was sure the brat wanted to go himself, but Dick had a strong hand on his shoulder, no doubt holding him back from using “non-approved by Bruce” interrogation methods.
Jason clapped a hand on Tim’s back making him flinch before the taller man pulled him back up the staircase.
“This better be good, replacement,”
“Do you really think so little of me?” Tim couldn’t help but ask as he was shoved through his door, “because it’s not hard to figure out what you guys think of me right now, but…”
Jason's refusal to look at him hurt more then he was willing to admit.
“We’re praying we’re wrong,” He finally said, “but we can’t think of a single other reason for you being like this.”
Tim flinched as he entered the code into the padlock on his side table, he knew that at least two of his siblings knew the code at this point, but placing the embarrassing pictures of him from his first year as Robin seemed enough to appease them from looking further.
“Bruce doesn’t like working with Metas,” He managed out as he pulled up the false bottom and snatched his journal. As he turned back to Jason he could see the older boy blinking at him in startled befuddlement.
“Marinette is a Meta?” He questioned causing Tim to hug the book tight to his chest, eyes focusing on the rusty looking 10 over his brother's head as it twisted around, he couldn’t be more relieved when it faded from the venomous green as the Laruaz sickness faded.
He didn’t answer instead brushing past him towards the stairs to the Batcave. Jason was right on his heels.
“What the fuck Timmy,” He questioned instantly. Tim let out a weak chuckle.
Jason wasn’t stupid, no matter what he tried to convince people, and Tim knew his brother would put it together quickly if he said anything else, but he didn’t want to talk about it, but… he kinda wished he had longer in the shadows he was used to. He remained quiet.
“You can’t just say that and go rushing off,” He pushed as they entered the stairwell, causing Tim to scrunch his shoulders more.
Tim was halfway down the steps when he felt Jason stop behind him, a heavy hand landing on his shoulder. He held back a wince as he glanced at his brother's face.
The serious set of Jason’s jaw and the understanding in his eyes put Tim on edge.
“Mari’s not the one that’s Meta, is she?”
“...”
“Come on Tim, answer the question.”
I don’t know if she is or not…”
“But she’s not what you meant when you said Bruce doesn’t like working with Metas, is she?”
Tim couldn’t force his mouth to work.
“Shit…” Jason groaned, rubbing a hand down his face as he sank down to sit on the stairs, “We really are assholes.”
“Jay?”
He waved a hand dismissing Tim’s questioning tone, “You kept notes about what you can do in that book?”
“I…” Tim’s brain was having trouble keeping up with what was happening, “Yeah?”
“Great, hand it over and go back upstairs,”
Tim flinched back, grip tightening, “What?”
Jason just looked away, crossing his arms, “Look, we jumped to the wrong conclusion, and I don’t know what your power is but it made you wary of Marinette. You look like a frightened rabbit right now, so I doubt you’ll want to go through Bruce’s shitty menagerie of questions on your powers, so give me the fucking notes you have on yourself and I’ll keep them down here until we’ve gone through your book and figure it out. Then maybe by patrol, we’ll all calm down enough to… ya know fucking talk about it.”
Tears weld up in Tim’s eyes as he sits on the stairs next to Jason, knees trembling too much to hold him up, “You… You don’t hate me?”
The ideas startled the older boy into looking back to Tim’s face, face softening as he saw the look in his eyes.
“Ah Timmy,” He sighed, pulling the other boy into his side “None of us are going to hate you for being meta.”
Tim gave a shaky nod into his shoulder, reluctantly holding out the book, “It’s mostly just data… I…”
Jason took the book carefully, bouncing it in his hand lightly, “Did you write down what your power is?”
“Yeah but…”
“Great skedaddle,”
“Wait,” Tim cut Jason off as he goes to stand, “I… I want to tell someone before you find out through… through my journal.”
Jason settles back down, “Alright replacement, What can you do?”
Slowly he explains the numbers, the levels he had been able to see since he a baby, how he used it to know where to focus in a battle, used it to figure out every secret identity without trying.
“Well damn,” Jason whistled, once Tim’s explanation started trailing off, “No wonder you were always good at the detective shtick, no one could hide from you.”
Tim let out a startled laugh, “Ye... yeah, even if the color and number themselves change the font stays the same so it’s pretty easy to keep track of people...”
“So two questions before I let you go hide in the woods, and go relay all this info to the others.”
Tim nodded, relaxing more. He never imagined his power being revealed going so well.
“First, who’s the most dangerous of the Batfam?”
Tim smirked, “Alfred, he’s a 12, same as Wonderwoman. Bruce and the demon spawn are tie for second at 11 and then you and Dick both have 10s, same as Superman. I... I don’t have a number.”
“Fucking knew it,”
“We all knew Alfred was dangerous, even without my power.”
“Truth. Alright question dos, Why does Marinette freak you out?”
His jaw clenched, he knew this one was coming, but he also knew how it would sound.
“She’s... She’s a 15.”
Jason’s eyes bugged out, “15?! We’re talking about the same girl, right? Pigtails, freckles, makes sweets for us every time she visits, looks like a strong wind will fly her back to Paris?”
“Yes!” Tim groaned, “I can’t find a single fucking thing that explains why she’s so high! Before this, the highest I’ve seen is 12!”
“No wonder you’ve been going insane... or well more insane.”
“Thank you for being an understanding asshole.”
“Hey what else are brothers for?” He asked, smile a little tight as he climbed to his feet, still holding Tim’s journal, “Now let's go, before the brat knocks out Dick and comes looking for you.”
Tim gave a weary smile before disappearing up the stairs.
When Jason reached cave the others were starting to look impatient.
“Where’s Drake,” Damien asked instantly, body coiling dangerously.
“I don’t him to scram,” The tall man said with a shrug, “He explained what’s happening to me, and trust me he has a good fucking reason, and probably thinks that Bruce is going to kick him out so I told him to take it easy until I calm all of you down.”
“He what?” Bruce choked out, as the other boys stopped, all eyes focusing on Jason.
“Yup!” Jason popped the ‘p’ before holding up the book Tim had given him, “Who’s ready for story time?”

Demon’s Bride Drabble
The Miraculous Awakens - Part 2
Okay the next part of my prequel to the Demon’s Bride main story. This takes place during Origins part 1 as you’ll see. I have to change it a bit because of Marinette’s changed history so it was kind of fun for me to reimagine how that day would have gone for Marinette.
Previous Next Drabble Masterpost
——————————
Marinette breathed as she followed the steps of the form she was practicing in smooth movements. She and her mother were in sync with each step mirroring the others until they came to a stop.
“Good practice Marinette. Go get ready for school while I put breakfast together for you.”
“Yes Maman,” Marinette climbed the stairs to their second story apartment to get ready for the first day of school. Despite being across the street from her new school her morning routine took her enough time that she was easily able to keep up her image of being an absentminded clutz. An image she had carefully cultivated since her family moved to Paris.
“Here’s some macarons for your class,” her Papa said handing her a pastry box as she entered the bakery.
“And your breakfast,” Sabine handed her a croissant with turkey and cheese for her to eat on her run to school.
“Thank you Maman, Papa,” she kissed each of their cheeks and made her way to the school.
***************************
Entering the classroom she saw that a majority of the students were classmates from previous years. Alix, Kim, Nino, Chloé and Sabrina were in the same class with her last year and Max, Nathaniel and Juleka had been with her the year before. Ivan, Mylène, and Rose were friends with some of the others and had often hung out together during group activities in the past.
There was one new girl sitting in the front row by herself while many of the others were talking in pairs around the classroom.
Marinette waved to Juleka as she walked over to the new girl and sat next to her. “Hi, I’m Marinette,” she introduced herself and offered her a macaron.
The new girl accepted, “I’m Alya.”
“Do you like superhero’s,” Marinette asked with a nod to the magazine the girl had on her desk.
“Yeah but I’m really interested in this journalist. Lois Lane, have you heard of her?”
“Well she’s simply amazing,” Alya continued when Marinette shook her head, “she was one of the first to interview the heroes in America. She’s done articles on Batman and Wonderwoman, she’s interviewed Superman on live TV. She’s my hero and I want to be a journalist just like her.”
Marinette smiled happily, “that sounds amazing. I’m sure you can do it.”
Alya returned the smile before the teacher called their attention back to the start of class.
*********************
After the morning was finished Ms Bustier dismissed the students with a reminder that those with PE would be meeting their teacher at the stadium while the rest would have a study period at the library.
Packing up her school items with the rest of the class Marinette noticed Chloé slumped at her desk and looking very disappointed.
“Are you alright Chloé?” Marinette asked stopping next to her desk.
During her first school year in Paris Chloé had been a particular kind of mean when dealing with Marinette. Marinette had ignored the behavior for a few months before she set the girl down and let her know that kind of behavior wasn’t going to fly with her.
Chloé still had a tendency to put on the entitled airs she had grown up using and her parents had modeled for her but it mostly occurred when she was feeling particularly vulnerable. Unfortunately most of the rest of the class was still too scared of her barbed tongue to see the hurt girl underneath and she was to scared to show them that side of her. It had the affect of isolating the girl even in the classroom.
“I’m just fine Dupain-Cheng. Everything’s perfect,” Chloé sat up and stated with a forced air of unconcern.
“Ok,” Marinette agreed, knowing better than to push in front of the class, “if you need to stop by the bakery later I’ll let my parents know.”
Chloé nodded but didn’t say anything else as she grabbed her designer bag and left the classroom.
“KIM!!”
Marinette turned to see Kim and Ivan in a conflict in the back of the class.
“IVan,” Ms Bustier called for his attention, “there’s no yelling in the classroom.”
“But Kim..” he started to say.
“Ivan go to the principal’s office.”
The boy grabbed his bag and stomped out of the classroom.
Marinette followed the students still in the classroom as they headed to their next class or the libraries.
*****************************
Halfway through her study period Marinette was distracted. A low rumble and subtle vibration ran underfoot. Other students began to look around as it got louder and stronger. A loud crack drew attention out of the classroom.
Alya who was sitting next to Marinette the table was one of the first to run out of the library to find the source of the noise. Marinette followed behind her. They were stopped by students gathered on the second floor staring out the windows as a giant rock monster stomped away from the school.
One of the teachers from the nearby classrooms came out. “Everyone needs to go home. Get somewhere safe. Those that live in the direction the monster left you’ll gather in the auditorium. We’ll call your parents to let them know you’re safe.”
“Please go to your designated location...” she continued as Marinette turned to an excited Alya.
“I gotta check this out. If there’s a villain there’s bound to be a hero.”
Before Marinette could respond she was running off to chase a monster. Marinette shook her head and headed out of the school and towards her home.
************************
Across the city an elderly Chinese man watched on the news as a stone monster marched across cars and bridges in his way.
“Master?”
“Yes Wayzz,” Master Fu responded.
“I felt Nooroo’s power. He’s active again.”
“Yes Wayzz, I can see that,” he gestured to the TV.
“What will we do Master?”
“Ah, Wayzz, I am much too old to be fighting champions of the butterfly. We will need to activate more Miraculi.”
“But Master, Nooroo is one of the five and we are missing the second. We only have myself and two others still able to call upon for help.”
“No Wayzz. Even if we were fortunate enough that you, Pollen and Trixx could rescue Nooroo it would not undo the damage that has been done. We would not be able to safely stay in Paris now that they have revealed themselves to the world.”
“Then who Master?”
The elderly man pushed to his feet and walked to a table in the room. Upon it sat on older gramafone. On the side was a latch that he opened to reveal buttons. Pushing them he answered, “We’ll need to call upon Tikki and Plagg themselves. If they have able holders nearby they should be able to save Nooroo and protect Paris.”
“But Master.”
“We have to trust in them,” he said as a red and black light hovered over the player. A small red creature that had antenna hovered next to a small black creature with cat like ears on top of its head.
“Guardian,” the small ladybug Kwamii said in her sweet voice, “what’s happening?”
“Is that Nooroo’s power?” The small cat Kwamii flew past the guardian and over to the windows facing the direction the champion had gone. The other two Kwamii followed him and stopped at the window.
“We think so, but it seems he has been corrupted,” Fu explained as he followed them. “We need you to find holders that can fight and rescue Nooroo.”
Tikki and Plagg nodded at each other before they closed their eyes and tried to sense the possible matches they had in this strange city.
Tikki was the first to gasp, her eyes flying open as she brightly smiled. There in her sense of magic were two bright balls of fire. Core’s of creation magic.
“My blood is here!!” She exclaimed in joy. “I have children of my magic here in the city.”
Plagg shook his head, “I sense children of my blood are living but there’s no one in this city that is a good fit for my miraculous.”
“That is troubling,” Fu said. “We need the both of you active at the same time, but if your holders are not a match for you or each other it would cause problems for them.”
“That’s true. I do sense someone who would be a best temporary fit out there that can help us take care of the champion for today. As long as I’m not bonding with them for a long time we should be okay. It takes years for a Miraculous to corrupt an ill suited core.”
“Do you think it wise Plagg?” Tikki asked.
“We have to save Nooroo now that we have a chance Sugarcube,” Plagg said. “He’s been lost for too long and we need to bring him home.”
“Okay,” Tikki agreed, “you’ll go to the holder and I’ll find my wielder. With the damage being done out there we’ll need all the magic we can get to restore the city.”
“Agreed.”
“We’ll keep the other Miraculi in the city secret until the champion has been purged and Nooroo rescued,” Fu said to them.
Tikki and Plagg nodded before grabbing their Miraculous gems and flying out the window towards the future heroes.

This looks like it might end up being between three and four parts. Not entirely sure as I try to look for natural chapter breaks around 1500 words. Except for a few Drabbles and the Miraculous Future chapter 1 (which was like 3000 words) most of my chapters are between 15-17 hundred words. Funnn~~~~

Agreed.
This is why I believe in keeping characters IN CHARACTER even when you try to reinvent them.
Superman must always be kind, gentle and compassionate.
Batman must always be stern, intimidating yet has a heart of gold.
Wonderwoman must always be honourable, honest and loving.
So Barbie has to be kind, egalitarian, intelligent and treat Ken as her equal. And Ken must live up to embodying positive masculinity, heroism, chivalry and fun. I find too many women who grew up with Barbie have forgotten who the real Barbie is and how they have her to thank for inspiring them to be independent and progressive yet also to still being proud to be women and feminine.
Now... all things feminine including motherhood and sweetness are shunned by a lot of women to the point of toxicity and too many girls are aiming to either be tomboys or androgynous as though being girly is a mark of shame or weakness. Now, don’t get me wrong. There is absolutely nothing wrong to be that if that’s the kind of woman you truly are, but you’re only acting that way to be accepted, then that is self-hate and counter productive. Nowadays, the only women who seem to be allowed to be girly are transgender women or LGBT+ men, and like I said before, there’s nothing wrong with that if that is who you really are. But what I’m saying is that there is nothing wrong with cisgender women still being feminine. After all, femininity began with us and while there’s nothing wrong with sharing it, we shouldn’t just give it up. And people do have trouble taking us seriously because we wear pink, have our hair and nails done, and wear high heels, just remind yourself of two points;
Who shouldn’t take who seriously when the person making you feel less than clearly just judges based on your looks?
This person would never go up to a man and claim they can’t take him seriously because of his blatant masculinity like having a beard, wearing pants, sporting masculine colour schemes and such. All this person is revealing is that they live by double standards that you are not obliged to live up to.
Femininity is beautiful and natural, and it’s high time we started accepting it with grace and pride instead of being ashamed of it. Our femininity brought us joy, confidence and helps us bond with other women.
One of the reasons I didn't like the Barbie movie was because it tried to erase a lot of the toy/doll history, forgetting a lot of strong and wonderful women who created way better dolls than Barbie.
Including the inspiration for Barbie herself who Mattel treated dirty... and she is prettier!

Finally there. The last chapter. The epilogue. The long awaited finale with a Raven redemption, Adrian's story, reactions and a lot of fluffy fluff! Over 3000 words for this.
LIFE GOES ON
Bruce stood at his window, overlooking the rose garden in the backyard, gathered with everyone except Damian and Marinette. There was a strong sense of anticipation in the room. As Bruce looked about him, some of the Kwami zooming around the room, he thought back to the events three years ago. Guardian Angel officially joining the Justice League, the great battle of Gotham, and returning of teenage renegade to Paris. He still got chills when he remembered Agreste's statement of events.
The room was quiet for a moment as Adrien tried to think of where to begin. He stared at the ceiling.
"It starts a year before Hawkmoth first appeared. My mother and father and I lived happily together, father was busy at work, but we were all very happy. Sometimes I would hear them shouting, but it would turn to moans not long after, and father told me when I asked once that mother just needed to be loved properly. Then mother disappeared and father searched furiously for her, until eventually she was proclaimed as dead. Father became distant, and I rarely ever saw him except if I messed up or something. So I tried to be the perfect son, but I wanted some freedom, friends, to fall in love like all my animes. I snuck out of the mansion to go to school, and almost made it in when I saw this old man needed help. So my father's assistant caught me and brought me home. But there was a box on my table, and with it I became Chat Noir. I thought Ladybug was my soulmate because how could we not be? Then my father agreed to let me go to school and I became friends with Marinette and Nino and Alya and my childhood friend Chloe was there too. It was perfect. I was a hero, I had friends, I had a soulmate. But Ladybug was always turning me down, and she was allowed to choose more heroes, and she refused to have any fun. And then Lila Rossi transferred and she liked to tell tall tales, but she wasn't hurting anyone. Marinette was just being too hard on her, too stubborn. If she'd just let it go, just played nice, she would've been fine. Lila would eventually get tired of it all. I always had her back and she knew that. Her 14th birthday, Lila told me about Marinette's love for me. Marinette was supposed to wait for me and we would have a magical night. I found her a ways away, and thought she'd just gotten sick of waiting for me, but I made it up to her and brought her home. But two nights later, the police swarmed our home, and were shouting about my father being Hawkmoth, which is impossible, because he was Akumatized! And I was taken in, because Chat Noir was being accused of rape! And Nathalie was supposed to be Mayura! And none of that made sense! So I tried to have them find Marinette, because she would be able to clear everything up. Three days went by when Ladybug showed up, carrying Marinette's dead body to the police. She had a video of my classmates hurting her, hurting Marinette. And she had the power to fix her and didn't. I was devastated. Then Marinette appeared to me. She was as real and bright as ever. She wanted to be with me. And I wanted to create the perfect world for her. Our class would all be friends, Chloe would be nice to her, and Lila would be her best friend, and Marinette would be Ladybug instead. My mother and father would be happy and together forever, and they would love Marinette just as much as me. Marinette was the one who planned everything and told me what to do. But I knew no one else saw her. But I did as she told me, because once I made my wish, nothing bad would ever happen to her again" Adrien spoke with passion in his voice, but his eyes never met theirs.
Batman and Wonder Woman's eyes met. This wasn't their first rodeo with the mentally unstable.
"Do you feel any remorse at all, knowing that those lives you took will forever remain dead?" Wonder Woman asked.
"Ladybug is the only one guilty. She could bring them back if she wanted to."
"The ladybug powers do not work like that. My mother was once a Ladybug. She needs to absorb the negative energy of a magical attack, like with the Demon, and she uses that to rebuild the world. She can not create or bring back life or heal, because when she does it, she is merely absorbing the darkness from their bodies. Otherwise there would never have been ill in Paris. The dead would have risen everyday. Can you not see that? " Wonder Woman asked.
" Marinette would never lie to me" Adrien stated. He was looking to his side, smiling softly. Wonder Woman was especially concerned that he saw her still, even while under the influence of the rope of Hestia, which should break through every delusion.
The interview concluded, it was decided that Adrien Agreste would serve life in a French Asylum, without bail. When his family was contacted, his father was emotionless, his mother just disinterested. She'd always known he'd be just like his father.
Bruce came back to the present when Damian and Marinette walked onto the scene below. Her 18th birthday was just around the corner, and they were planning a family party for her in that very garden. But Damian had asked for a sem-private moment with her. Knowing they'd all find a way to spy on them anyways, he'd told them to just watch from the office. Damian had grown up a lot since meeting Marinette. He was still chaos impersonate, still the calm before the storm and determined beyond anyone else his age. But he was also considerate of other people, he didn't lash out as quickly or as violently. He took the time to get to know his brothers better, and he showed his gratitude to them in small ways, like remembering their favorite bands and buying concert tickets, or simply sitting with them after a rough mission instead of dealing with it alone. The family was closer than ever before. So Bruce smiled with hope when he watched Damian kneel in the grass.
Dick watched as Damian walked into the garden, speaking quietly with his "Angel". She'd grown into a beautiful young woman, her scars had healed, both physically and emotionally with the constant presence of Damian at her side. He proved his love to her with every word he spoke, with every comforting hug. He truly always had her back and there was nothing the youngest Wayne wouldn't do for Marinette. Even forgiving Raven.
Nightwing and StarFire took Raven back to Star City, where they had built a special cage built in case Trigon ever sent his sons to do his bidding. Placing Raven inside, Nightwing paced. He still remembered Guardian Angel's expression as she fell, thinking that it had been Damian. More than that, he remembered watching as Raven ruthlessly ripped the earrings out of Marinette's ears, or the sick smirk on her face. He paced some more, ignoring Korri's worried looks. When Raven started stirring he walked in, expression cold as he stared down at the petite girl. Once, he would have been happy to call her sister. Now though.
"What happened?" Raven asked, looking at the cage around her. His frown deepened.
"How dare you?" he hissed, the snake miraculous still gleaming around his wrist. He was usually the one to enforce the "no kill" rule the strongest amongst the family, but he could feel the temptation to strongly. Raven furrowed her brow, trying to remember what had happened to get her locked up, but could remember nothing past Damian walking into the ballroom with a girl on his arm. She'd remembered feeling slightly crushed that her crush seemed to have moved on, but the next she knew, everything went dark. Now here she was, in a cage to hold her brothers. What had she done?
"What…. What have I done?" Raven asked, her voice pleading. Nightwing felt his anger rise even more. How dare she sit there, looking innocent. He couldn't believe anything she said or did, because really, who would turn so willingly on her teammates. Who would abandon their friends in mid battle and turn around and kill one of them. He didn't believe the innocent act at all. Korri placed a hand on his shoulder, trying to step in front of him but he wouldn't budge, glaring with all the hatred an older brother could feel.
"Damian had just walked in with the new member of the Justice League. I was sad, because… Well, you know I have a crush on him. But then things got dark, and I heard someone saying something, like a whisper. I thought I passed out. What happened?" she asked again. Nightwing was still not buying it. He felt his hackles rise, wanting to get her to confess.
"And you just expect me to believe that?" he growled, his muscles tensing.
"Nightwing! We know how powerful Trigon is! He only just escaped, we have no idea if he left a mark on her!"
"we also know that Raven is more powerful than that. She has him captured. Is it so wrong to believe she just snapped?" Nightwing snapped at Korri, the image would forever haunt him.
"What?" Raven was so confused. Korri wasn't much better, since she had been on the other side of the battle, and with second chance, no one else remembered anyways. Perhaps we should call WonderWoman here" Korri suggested calmly, trying to settle the tension in Nightwing's shoulders. Nightwing wanted to just throw the cage into a deep hole and never look at her again.
A Portal suddenly opened behind them and Robin stepped through. His fox transformation had long worn off, but Nightwing knew he still had it on him. However, instead of turning on Raven and tearing into her, he turned to Nightwing and held out his hand.
"Guardian Angel I'd worried about your emotional stability right now. Hand over the Miraculous before you do something that will haunt you as much as whichever image makes you so angry now. The ability to fix or change a situation can corrupt even the purest of souls, and you haven't been tested to be a permanent holder." Nightwing didn't even twitch, keeping his arms crossed and his face in a scowl. Nobody would even remember if he slid his finger over the bracelet.
"Please Richard. You do not want that on your conscience" Robin pleaded, his face softening into understanding. And really, who other than Robin, and maybe Red Hood, would understand better? He sighed and reached for the bracelet.
"Transform me" he mumbled, and a blue light went up under his other suit. Sass flew right through the portal, a blue blur trying to get away. Nightwings shoulders hunched. He was no better than that blonde idiot and his friends. Robin grasped the Miraculous and reached his other hand on his shoulder. "No one knows what you do about this battle, Richard, though Guardian Angel has a guess she won't share. What you saw was one outcome, one possibility of many, and you prevented the worst. But you are not all knowing about people, and the Justice League has wrongfully confronted Raven once before. Let Wonder Woman question Raven, and take comfort that no matter her answer, it is the truth."
" when did you get so wise, baby bird?" Nightwing whispered, finally relaxing his posture completely.
" Angel told me most of what I should say before I came through. The rest…. I've just had some good influences in my life, I guess"
Nightwing smiled and Robin stepped back through the portal to Gotham. A few minutes later, Wonder Woman stepped through her own.
"Agreste?" Nightwing asked.
"Still in surgery. Oracle said she'd monitor him for me and send me back in time for the questioning. Now, Guardian said you needed my help?" Korri nodded.
"I'm afraid we can't just accept her word at face value right now. We have no idea if what she's saying is true."
Wonder Woman nodded and sent the Rope of Hestia through a breathing hole. Raven easily picked it up and wrapped it around her wrist multiple times and looked up.
" What is the last thing you remember?" Wonder Woman asked.
" We were all in the ballroom, and Damian came walking in with the new girl. He looked so calm and happy and kept staring at her. I was choking a little bit. I'd had a crush on him since he first came to the tower, and… I just wanted to get some fresh air. I couldn't breathe properly and my head was starting to hurt. I kept hearing whispering, and I just thought some of the guests had noticed, but then I just blacked out. I came to and I was in this box" Raven stated, looking concerned. Oracle decided to find footage of the ballroom.
"Found her. Here come Damian and… Raven just grabbed her head. She is shaking it slightly. I'm picking up a rusty red glow from the jewel in her head. And she's back. She changes her outfit around the time Wonder Woman starts talking. But otherwise, there's no change" Oracle dictates over the comms.
"Can you please send Guardian through? We may need her to look at the jewel and drain it" Wonder Woman says. The comms are quiet for a while, before finally another portal opens. Guardian Angel comes through, followed closely by Robin with his katana drawn. Raven groans slightly and reaches for her head.
"Did I steal your sword?" she asks, her eyes wide and worried. Robin merely nodded before looking at his Angel. She takes a deep breath before walking up to the box.
"Please stand as close to grass as possible" she tells Raven. She's weary, and something is telling her not to, but Wonder Woman gives her a firm tug of the rope, and glares at her in warning. She crawls over to glass and shakily stands up, placing her forehead to the hold not with the rope through it. Guardian Angel raises her hand and places it over the glass on her side, and immediately a black aura tries to lash out at her. She flies back against the far wall, and Robin and Nightwing become defensive.
"NO! Get out of my head!" Raven yells, falling back to the ground and clutching her ears. Guardian Angel is on her feet immediately and rushes back, breaking the glass container. She clutches her hands around Ravens and whispers in an ancient tongue, the Guardian Language. A pink glow emanates from their forms and when it disappears, Guardian Angel is passed out, and Raven is barely hanging onto consciousness. The crystal that once held her father, a black diamond in her head, is now pink.
"He's gone!" Raven manages to whisper out, before passing out as well. Robin rushes to his Angel's side and quickly brings her through the portal back to Gotham, while the others all stare at Raven. Now what do they do?
Dick remembered how Raven struggled with her magic after that. It took her months to gain back control, as her father had been slowly corrupting it, and with it, Raven as well. But Marinette never held her in contempt, like Dick had. She forgave her and helped her heal, and Damian meditated with her to help as well. Raven was now Marinette's best friend, and she wholly agreed that she was better off with Tim, who had been by her side, analyzing her magic capability. Their family had grown so strong from her forgiving and kind nature. He smiled as he tuned back in to see Marinette throw herself into Damian's embrace.
Tim was so happy, watching his little brother and his future-sister-in-law on the lawn. The past three years had gone by quickly, with Damian growing up into a strong, pure force for good. He looked down to Raven's smiling face, and knew she felt nothing but content, watching her sister in all but blood be so overcome with joy. Three years ago, no one would've thought that this would be the outcome after the exhausting battle and aftermath.
The destruction cleaned up, the villains in jail, Raven cleansed and only waiting to hear Agreste's story, Timothy couldn't quite rest yet. He went to the detention centre and asked to see the Parisian boys, to hear what they had to say. He'd come alone, but saw no reason for them to lie or try to fight. He still had his transformation going under his Red Robin suit, so he was confident he'd be okay.
"Max Kantê and Nino Lahiffe. I've come to take your statements" he said, funnelling as much authority as he could into his statements. The boys' heads snapped up from where they sat. Max gulped audibly, while Nino just looked exhausted. He nodded and sat up a bit.
"Why did you come to Gotham?"
"I wanted to warn Marinette. Max wasn't given a choice" Nino stated calmly.
"I believe from video evidence that Marinette is dead" Red Robin said. Nino just shook his head.
"I think a part of me always knew, but I just didn't want to think, at first, that one of my best friends would go swinging into danger like that. Then, after Lila joined, it was just easier to believe her. And she hated Marinette, so she couldn't be Ladybug. Ladybug carrying Marinette's body into the police station would've fooled most, but I just always had a feeling she wasn't completely gone. I just… Assumed I guess… " Nino tapered off, looking at Red Robin hopefully.
" Marinette Dupain-Cheng is dead" he shook his head. Nino's face fell and he looked at his hands. He shook and cried. He'd been against Alya's plan to attack Marinette, and hadn't been there. Maybe he could've stopped it. He thought that maybe that was why he'd come. A second chance to be a real friend.
Max looked lifelessly at Red Robin.
"My family was murdered by Adrien. I… I have nowhere to go." He finally managed to choke out. Red Robin nodded, aware of the atrocities committed in Paris.
"What do you want to happen? You both were the reason the Justice League was able to mobilize so quickly. From evidence gathered and statements from Cesaire, we were able to gather that neither of you ever did anything against the law or of your own free will. Kantê, as you said, your family is unable to take guardianship of you, and if you choose to return to Paris, you may be held in contempt from the public. Lahiffe, your family has been made aware, but they are currently speaking to Social Services, as they're scared for their other son's health and safety" Tim said.
"And if we stay here?" Max asked while Nino broke into a fresh wave of tears. He'd never be allowed near Chris again.
"... The Teen Titans have long asked for an Oracle of their own…" Red Robin tapered off, leaving the rest for them to interpret and think about," you'd be under house arrest for a while at least. But… You could do some real good there."
Max nodded after a moment and Nino did too, still too emotionally distraught to do much else. Red Robin smiled.
"You'll be moved to your new residence in a couple of weeks," he said, and turned and left as abruptly as he came.
Max Kantê, now known as Le Donnèes and Nino Lahiffe, now Sécurise, became an integral part of Teen Titan operations and training, often conferring with Oracle on large Justice League missions. It was easy to say that they'd become amazing heroes. Nino and Max were in Paris now, in fact, for the first time since leaving. Nino had earned his right to see his brother again, but didn't want to go alone. They'd been quite emotional when Marinette came to them the first time, and they'd become close friends once again. Things were far from perfect in the world, but right this moment, nothing at all could ruin this.
And done. I hope you enjoyed! I've been reading a lot salt and angst, and I wanted to get this out of my system, and maybe write another, more happy, one soon. I'm afraid there's no tag list for this because like an idiot, I forgot to write it out, but I'll try to add it in post haste
