I wonder what it says that so many conservative men are enraged and offended at the mere suggestion that their wives might vote differently than them? 馃

Tomorrow will be one year since Mahsa Amini was murdered by Iranian morality police. After being pulled over for not wearing her hijab correctly, eyewitnesses at the police station say she was severely beaten.
Amini then fell into a coma and was transferred to hospital, where she died. Leaked medical scans indicate a cerebral haemorrhage or a stroke as the cause of death, very likely to be triggered by a severe beating.
One year on, Diako Alavi, a family friend of hers, writes this heartbreaking and powerful eulogy to this innocent woman.
In the last year, the Islamic Republic has shown itself to be one of the worst terrorist regimes on this planet. Many more Iranians have been killed both by riot police and by execution for the crime of protesting against the 1979 Islamic Revolution-- for that is really the heart of the protest movement.
The best way to honour Amini will be for the end of the Islamic Revolution and the punishment of all terrorists that upheld these barbaric law codes.

These protections in Blue States are vital- as is who holds office in those states.
Because Blue states will now be sanctuaries for marginalized people across the country. If you're queer. If you're a woman. If you're an immigrant.
And if Trump tries to impose his regime on those cities and states, it will come down to their willingness to refuse to comply with a fascist Federal government.
This is our last line of defence, when all other political checks and balances have failed.
NY just passed Prop 1, a constitutional amendment which will enshrine protections against sex/gender-based discrimination in the state. This includes the right to abortion and protections for trans, gay, and gender non-conforming people. Whatever else happens in this election, this is a big win!

If by some miracle sweet potato Hitler doesn't win come the end of the week, this won't be necessary, but should he win here are some of the first things to be aware of or do.
If you know a trans person, no you don't. Respect them as best you can in private but you know nothing in public.
Be aware that TikTok will likely be banned, find new platforms to spread information. Fuck Twitter and what ever tiktok replacement he's working on.
Learn to Garden, even in winter so you can feed yourself should prices skyrocket
Get an air purifier. The Clean Air Act is likely to be stripped of its power with the EPA deregulated, air quality is going to suffer
Should you have kids, try to supplement history/social studies education. That's the first place they will attack, if you need help ask, history teacher will help
Try and do what you can to be aware of your health before January.
Help one another. That's the best way we can move forward and make change in the future.

With no national support or attention, Arkansas women (and a few good men) did what everyone said couldn鈥檛 be done. On July 5, organizers turned in enough signatures to qualify an amendment to restore access to abortion in Arkansas. 聽The amendment will restore access up to 18 weeks for any reason and thereafter has exceptions for rape, incest, fatal fetal anomaly, and life and health of the mother. 聽The amendment had no support from national groups like Planned Parenthood or the ACLU because it didn鈥檛 allow for abortions up to the point of viability. 聽However, polling showed that anything over 18 weeks simply wouldn鈥檛 pass in deep red Arkansas, and the amendment will cover 99% of abortions that do occur.
Abortion rights will be on the ballot in Arkansas, thanks to a 100% unfunded volunteer effort! Amazingly good news.

listen I know it's heartbreaking that Claudia dies and it's understandable to wish she didn't, but let's please not accuse the writers of fridging her. to do so is a fundamental misunderstanding of the story and is frankly insulting to the intelligence and skill of the writers of the show.
Claudia's death, and the overwhelming grief and regret her parents experience because of it, is quite literally the point of the entire story. she dies because Anne's daughter Michele died of leukemia when she was five years old and there was nothing she or her husband could do to prevent it.
writing IWTV was how Anne coped with the unimaginable loss of a parent losing her child. she created a story about a little girl that could not die and then killed her anyway. Claudia's death is a senseless, unavoidable tragedy, just like Michele's was. the grief that haunts Louis and Lestat for the rest of their lives is the same grief that haunted Anne and her husband.
so when you're accusing people of killing Claudia off to benefit a story about two men, please remember that in real life sometimes parents lose their children. please remember Michele Rice.

she's the reason Claudia exists.
she's also the reason Claudia cannot be saved.

If you use arab.org like I do please consider taking the extra 30-60 seconds to click on ALL of their causes. Palestine is important but so are the environment, refugees, children, women, and the impoverished across the middle east and it doesn't take away from Palestine to click for multiple causes. The arab world faces a lot of problems and they only get worsened by how western nations have oppressed and attacked them. Clicking is small but it generates something and overtime it does benefit the greater good. It takes all of us clicking as often as possible but we can do it! It's really easy and safe and they have proofs on their site on how they do make an impact and are donating your click money

There are an estimated 50 000 pregnant women in Gaza, with more than 180 giving birth every day. Without hospitals the chances of survival for mother and child drop drastically
