CHAPTER SIX
Masterlist
The light of dawn crept slowly over the horizon as Eddie guided the horse through ankle deep snow. They were lucky that the heavy pines of the forest had blocked much of the snow from accumulating any deeper.
James sat atop the horse, seated behind the queen, holding her in place so she did not attempt escape. Every now and then Ravina fussed against James, but he held her tight.
"Muhmhmmm," Ravina struggled to say, her gag muffling her words.
"What did she say?" Eddie asked.
James sighed heavily and pulled her gag down.
"You two are idiots! We are going to freeze to death out here!" she snapped.
James grunted with disapproval and shoved the gag back into her mouth.
"She's slowing us down," James said, getting off the horse. He then pulled Ravina down and pushed her to sit in the snow.
"It was your idea to bring her," Eddie reminded him.
James ignored his brother's comment and peered past the forest line. He knew the queen was right. The further north they went, the heavier the winter storms would become.
But he wasn't going to turn back to Rakovec. This was only a detour to confuse the queen's guard, then head west to Wolfblood.
Taking another begrudgingly deep sigh, James yanked down Ravina's gag.
"What do you suggest, your highness?" he asked.
"You disgust me, do you know that?" she spat.
"Yes, I'm very aware, and I don't care," James said, his patience wearing thin.
"Ten miles from here is a village. It's neutral. It has not given me their allegiance, but neither does it outright oppose me," she said.
"That's not helpful. What if they recognize you? Wouldn’t they give you assistance?" James said.
"I doubt anyone would know my face. I've only sent dignitaries there, I've never set foot in that village," Ravina said.
"And what if you're lying?" James sneered.
"She's not," Eddie said.
"How the hell do you know?" James asked.
"Because she needs us. She still believes we're half gods," Eddie said, petting the horse's nose.
"What? You can't still believe that rubbish can you?" James said in disbelief, looking at Ravina. She looked away from his gaze and said nothing.
"Your prophecy was proven wrong. You fucked my brother and he's still mortal. End of fucking story!" James said, heatedly.
"The ritual was preformed incorrectly, that is why it did not work," Ravina said softly.
"And please, pray tell, what would have been the right way?" James challenged.
Ravina almost turned crimson and shook her head. "I...I can't with you right now. The mere thought sickens me!"
"Ah...you still need to fuck me, don't you?" James said chuckling and pulling her up from the snow.
"At this point, I'd rather die," she snapped.
"Look, I think both of you need to shut up. We have ten miles of travel ahead of us, and we are still being tracked by the queen's guard," Eddie said, interrupting them both.
James mounted the horse again, and Eddie went to assist Ravina back up.
"Don't touch me," she said, shaking Eddie off.
"Ravina, I'm sorry. But you're safe, no one is going to hurt you," Eddie said, earnestly.
"You've already hurt me," she said, casting her eyes away from him and accepting James' hand to return on top of the horse.
Eddie swallowed hard, guilt flooding his heart. But he said nothing more and took the reigns and moved forward toward the village.

I did miss writing for him.
STICK SEASON - NOAH KAHAN WRITING CHALLENGE MASTERLIST
------------------------
I'm not sure how long I had been sitting out in the forest.
All I could remember was the school day ending and then running off. I wasn't ready to go home yet. I just needed some space. Fresh air.
I would like to think that was a healthy thing to desire at points.
"You need to find more original hiding spots."
I looked over when Rhydian spoke up.
He grinned at me. I just rolled my eyes a bit and turned to look out into the trees again. I heard him sigh and the leaves crunch as he walked over and sat down next to me.
"Wanna talk about it," he asked.
I shook my head. "Just... people."
He seemed to accept the answer for the time being. I moved and leaned my head on his shoulder. I felt his head lean against him.
He always seemed to be able to easily figure out when I was upset. He could always guess the exact moments that I needed him around. I wonder if he could see small signs that I didn't know about or if it was just some instinctual feeling he got.
I guess it didn't truly matter in the end.
Regardless of how he knew to be there, it was nice that he was there.
It was always nicer hiding in the trees than it was being at that school. Not everyone was horrible, but it was all so suffocating. I just needed the fresh air for a while. The calmness that I couldn't get in my normal life.
"We should run away."
I heard Rhydian scoff at me. "Why's that?"
"You ask that like you didn't spend your first few weeks here looking for a reason to run off," I muttered.
"It was not weeks," he replied.
"Yes, it was," I chuckled, moving to look at him. He shook his head.
"You didn't answer my question."
I sighed. "I just feel so... stuck."
"Alright..."
"You... You moved here," I tried to start explaining my thoughts. "I've grown up here. The same places, the same people, the same problems. I... I have always been stuck in this little bubble."
I pushed myself off the ground, turning to look at him.
"I don't get to experience what our lives are supposed to feel like," I motioned between the two of us. "I am just the same scared pup that I've always been! If running away is the only way to shake that feeling..."
I stopped, letting the sentence die without any conclusion.
Rhydian stood up, wiping the leaves off himself.
"Why don't you," he asked. I furrowed my eyebrows for a few moments and tilted my head. "I'm not trying to talk you into it, but you said it yourself, you've been here for a long time. What's keeping you here?"
I paused for a moment before a grin broke out on my face.
"What?"
"I got a bit distracted," I shrugged. His eyebrows furrowed this time. "By you, Rhydian."
"Oh..." he muttered before a smile formed. "Oh."
I chuckled. I walked forward and wrapped my arms around him, hiding my face in his shoulder.
"You make staying feel like it's worth it," I continued, feeling more comfortable knowing that he couldn't see my face for some reason. "All of the garbage and boringness. At least, there's you."
"That's so cheesy," he said before moving to kiss my head as I scoffed at him. "I feel the same way."
I almost complained as he stepped away. He had this little grin on his face. One that was very clearly a silent challenge without any words being spoken.
I was about to ask what he was thinking about before turned around and took off.
"Rhydian!"
He just laughed and kept running.
I ran after him, laughing to myself.
I did often feel stuck. Trapped or bored or locked in some endless time loop. But these moments... moments with Rhydian where I could forget about anything else waiting for us... made that bubble just a bit less suffocating.
To put it simply, he made home feel more like home again.

CHAPTER FIVE
Masterlist
When Eddie was escorted back to his room, he found James sitting by the fire, staring intently into its flames. James did not bother to stand when Eddie entered.
"You were gone awhile," James said, looking at the fire.
"Yeah, uh, I...I did what she wanted."
That made James look over at him in surprise. "You took her to bed?"
Eddie nodded and walked over to sit opposite of James. He rested his head on the back of the chair and sighed.
"And?" James asked impatiently.
"She's a little fire cracker, sexy and good in bed," Eddie said.
"Brother of mine...I meant the fucking godhood thing," James said, though he hadn't minded learning that the beautiful Queen was a vixen between the sheets.
"Oh, no, of course not. I mean, still me," Eddie said, gesturing both hands over himself.
"Bloody hell, then does she now understand that she's insane? That we should be released?"
"She's not insane," Eddie said sternly.
"You're not actually defending her? Her army demolished ours! She is the enemy, brother!" James hissed.
Eddie scoffed. He hated that even though they were twins, James always acted like the older brother. It was his way or no way.
"Yes, I'm aware, I was there. All I'm saying is she isn't insane. She could be reasoned with. We can proceed with the escape plan...or we could try talking with her again."
"No, we tried that already. We leave tonight," James said firmly and stood up to walk to the only window in the room. It was barred, but he could still see the snow crusted landscape and the setting sun.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the palace...
Ravina stormed into her grandmother's room. "I slept with Prince Eddie, and nothing happened!" Ravina said upset.
Nashwa had been reading and carefully closed her book. She held her granddaughter in her gaze for a moment before speaking. "My dear child, of course that wouldn’t work. You seem to be forgetting the prophecy. You must lay with them both."
"Fine! But if I take James into my bed and nothing happens I am done with this ridiculous prophecy!" Ravina shouted.
Nashwa smiled sadly. "No, my dear. You must be with both men at the same time. Otherwise, the ritual will not take."
Ravina stared at her grandmother in disbelief. "Both? At the same time?"
Nashwa chuckled. "If I were young once more and had such an opportunity with those two men, I would not hesitate. You say you laid with Prince Eddie? I'd assume he's an excellent lover?"
"Oh, by the love of Thor! I am not having a conversation about sex again with my grandmother!" Ravina said, shaking her head and exiting the room post haste.
Nashwa smiled to herself and returned to reading.
The time was now midnight, and James and Eddie had successfully incapacitated the guards who had stood outside their chamber.
They removed the guards' tunics and slipped them over their own clothing. Then they donned the guards' armor, allowing them to move freely through the palace. They exited toward the direction of the prison where they had seen their countrymen taken.
"There, up ahead," James said to Eddie as they caught sight of the prison.
"Right, change shift with the guards, break out the lads, and return home. Let's hope the weather keeps," Eddie said.
After they entered the prison, it took a moment to ensure that the other guards in that sector were out of earshot.
Though they replaced the two men who stood watch over the prison block where Eddie and James' men were being held prisoner, they needed to move quickly and quietly.
Upon seeing their princes, the men grew excited. "You're still alive!" Geri exclaimed, a cousin to Eddie and James.
"Yes, and we'd like to keep it that way, so keep quiet," James said as he unlocked the prison door.
"We head toward WolfBlood tonight. All of us, take what you can, it will be a hard journey due to the blizzards," Eddie said to the men as they treaded carefully down a hallway that led to the other side of the prison.
"There, the back exit. Let's go," James said, pointing at a large iron door.
The men filtered out one by one, each keeping their eyes open for unaccounted guards. Keeping low, they made their way back to the palace as the forest opened up behind its walls.
"There's the forest line. But we need provisions. Eddie and I will go back to the palace stables. If we don't return in fifteen minutes, leave without us," James said.
As quickly as the princes could, they back tracked to the stables within the palace walls. Still in their guard uniforms, they were confident they would not be spotted.
But as they entered the stables, a woman was within brushing a horse. She glanced up, it was the Queen. It took her a moment to realize they weren't guards.
"How...?" She began to say, but then the peeling of an alarm bell rippled through the air.
"Yeah, no time to talk, we'll be needing that horse," James said, quickly approaching her.
She immediately stood her ground and punched him hard in the chest. James' armor absorbed most the impact and he grabbed her arm, shoving her back.
"Bastard!" She hissed and tried to strike him again. "A little help, Eddie?" James yelled as he struggled to subdue the Queen.
Eddie came up behind Ravina and pined her arms back. James glared at her, and she spit in his face. James growled, but simply brushed the spittle away.
"Listen, we aren't going to hurt you, but so help me, I won't hesitate in giving you a good slap if you don't do as I say," James said.
"I can't believe I trusted you," Ravina said, turning her head and directing her comment to Eddie who still held her arms.
"I'm sorry, but we need to get home," Eddie said softly.
"We take her too," James said suddenly.
"What? That wasn’t part of the plan," Eddie said confused.
"No, it wasn't, but think about it. We have their Queen, we get leverage over how WolfBlood gets handled. We stay in control of our homeland this way," James said as he hurriedly prepared the horse.
Once the horse was ready, James stalked over to Ravina and Eddie with a rope. "Tie her up," James said, taking a firm hold of her arms as Eddie laced the rope over her wrists.
After she was secured, James picked her up and tossed her over the horse.
"That hurt you fucking arsehole!" Ravina snapped. James ripped a piece of cloth in half, walked over and tied the makeshift gag around her head, shoving the cloth into her mouth. "Be a good girl, and shut up," James said.
"Don't be such a prick, James. She didn't do anything," Eddie said, squaring up with his brother.
James glared hard at Eddie. "Don't be a fool. Her army destroyed our men, she took us prisoner so she could take control of our Kingdom. Just because you fucked her doesn't make her guiltless!"
Eddie paused a moment, keeping his eyes locked with James, but he balked at his words, and they left the stables.
The outside wind was cold, but they moved forward and made their way to the forest.
"Change of plans, lads. You go to WolfBlood at full speed. Keep to the trees, avoid the main roads. We will take the queen in a different direction to cause confusion. See you back at home," James said, giving the last of his men a nod.

WolfBlood - A Viking Fantasy Story
[A James Delaney & Eddie Brock AU]
Tumblr media
Chapter Summary: Queen Ravina convinces Prince Eddie to attempt the ritual together. The results are not what Queen Ravina was expecting.
Warnings: smut
Word Count: 3,360
Masterlist
Chapter 4: An Unexpected Result
Ravina, the Queen of Rakovec, was a specialist in politics and if the occasion called for it, war. When she had first conquered BearStone, the king of BearStone was impressed by her tactics. He also admired her sense and compassion. When she invaded his kingdom, she had not allowed any harm to befall his people. She even ensured that all damage done to property during the battle was repaired. So, the BearStone king bent the knee and accepted Ravina as his Queen. His name was Bjørnepote and the Queen had given him the title of her general.
Based on these events, Ravina knew she had the ability to change the hearts of men. If she had been able to make a king bend the knee, surely she could convince two princes to join her in bed. Yet, after meeting the brothers, she knew they were difficult. So as she made her way through her palace she thought of a plan. A neutral location would be best, the throne room was a bit imposing. She idly passed the royal greenhouse and stopped for a moment. This room would do, she thought. She walked into the room, feeling the welcoming warmth of the morning sun filtering through the glass panes. The greenhouse was filled with lush greens, white and purple orchids, blood red roses and flush-pink carnations. All in full bloom in the dead of winter. Finding the atmosphere suitable, she called for her guard.
“Bring me the princes,” Ravina said.
But as the guards turned to leave, she changed her mind.
“No, wait…only bring me Prince Eddie,” Ravina said.
The guards bowed and left to fetch the princes. Ravina wandered around the greenhouse, checking the flowers, making sure they were being properly taken care of. She took a deep breath, inhaling the sweet fragrances that perfumed the air. She wanted to get into the right mind set. Her desire was to convey a sense of authority, but at the same time appear enticing.
Almost twenty minutes had gone by and she was growing restless. She wondered what was taking so long, so she started for the door when she heard arguing.
“Yeah, you really need to take your hands off me.”
She could hear Prince Eddie say in the hallway as the sound of boots approached the greenhouse. A moment later, three guards and Prince Eddie appeared. One guard had a black eye, another a bloody lip. Two of the guards were holding Eddie firmly between them, while the third held a spear at the prince’s back. Ravina frowned upon seeing her guards injured.
“Are you badly hurt?” she asked.
“No, my Queen. The princes just gave us a tussle, that’s all,” the lead guard said.
“I want you both to go straight to the infirmary to be checked, leave the prince with me,” she said.
“My Queen, are you certain? He’s dangerous,” the lead guard said.
“I’m certain, now go and take care of yourselves,” she ordered.
The guards reluctantly left the Queen and the Prince alone. Ravina settled her gaze upon Eddie. She had remembered him being handsome, but seeing him again made her realize how captivating he truly was. Although appearing gorgeous, Eddie looked agitated. And Ravina was not happy with his behavior.
“Don’t hit my guards,” she said, folding her arms unhappily.
“That’s what you have to say after four days, huh?” Eddie said.
Eddie was irritated, but he did take the time to appreciate the Queen’s stunning appearance. His eyes, though darkened with anger, flickered over her face and body, absorbing the exquisite beauty in front of him.
“Yes, it has been four days, not an eternity,” she said.
“Sure, so you brought me here for what? To tell me that my brother and I can go home?” Eddie said, knowing full well that wasn’t the case.
“Have you thought more thoroughly about my proposal?” she said, ignoring the question.
“Honestly, I’m still unclear on what you want,” Eddie said.
Ravina did not revel in having to repeat the terms of the proposal, it was embarrassing. She closed her eyes briefly, found the strength to continue and explained once more.
“As I said before, you join me in bed to complete a ritual that will unlock your godhood,” she said.
Eddie nodded and looked around the room, taking some time to once again digest this information. He wanted to think that she was lying, that all this was some sort of trick. But he didn’t feel like that was the case, the Queen seemed to be telling the truth.
“Alright, fine. If you want to play hide the pickle, let’s do it,” Eddie said.
Ravina scrunched up her nose giving him a distasteful look. She did not like his euphemism for describing sex.
“How romantic,” she said, flatly.
“Hey, you’re the one who wants to do this,” Eddie said.
“Really? You don’t find me at all attractive?” she asked.
“I never said that. But the whole thing about turning us into half gods, I think that part’s pretty insane,” Eddie said.
“And how do you think I feel?” Ravina said.
“I don’t know! You’re the one who said the gods told you to do this,” Eddie said.
“Exactly, I’m being told to do this!” Ravina said.
Eddie could see she was upset. The calmness and control that she had first projected when he had entered, dissolved and was replaced with frustration.
“So, you…you're doing this against your will?” Eddie asked.
“In some respects, yes. But it is my duty and I trust the gods. I just wish they could convince you and your brother instead of me,” she said.
The two stood across from each other, a heavy silence filling the gap between them.
“Look, can you just help me with not making this so…so…” Ravina said, trying to think of the right word.
“Weird?” Eddie offered.
“Uncomfortable,” she said, choosing a more refined word.
“How?” Eddie asked.
“For starters, don’t say “hide the pickle”,” she said.
Eddie nodded as if completely understanding her request. “Yeah, sure. Oh, how about let’s make the beast with two backs?”
“How about you stop talking?” she said.
They both laughed and Eddie gave her a delightful boyish grin. Ravina began to feel less apprehensive, feeling a little more comfortable around him. He seemed a jovial person, strong in his convictions but still able to compromise.
“So now what?” Eddie asked.
“Well, I suppose…oh, just come with me,” Ravina said, turning and leaving the greenhouse.
Eddie jogged up beside her as she made her way back to the sleeping sector of the palace. Ravina took them to her bed chamber and went intisde, but Eddie didn’t follow.
“Uh, are we really going to do this?” he asked, a little stunned.
Ravina grabbed him by this arm, pulling him inside. She poked her head out of the doors to ensure no one had seen them. Satisfied she closed the doors and locked them.
“Are you embarrassed of me?” Eddie said, chuckling.
“No, but it is not accustomed for a Queen to bring prisoners into her bedroom,” she said.
“So I’m still a prisoner, hmmm?” Eddie said, frowning.
“That depends on you,” she said, walking over to her vanity, removing her crown and setting on top. “Now, get undressed.”
“Whoa, I thought you liked things to be romantic,” Eddie said, air quoting the word romantic.
“We don’t even know each other. It’s hard to make this romantic,” she said, walking over to him, then turning her back to him. “Help me unfasten my dress.”
Eddie paused for a moment, he really hadn’t expected things to move as quickly as they were now. He thought she was taking him somewhere else to discuss the matter further. But she was diving right into it.
“Well, get on with it,” she said, moving her long hair out of the way.
“I’m doing it, stop being so pushy,” he said, but he was smiling.
Her bossy and fussy behavior was a turn on for him. He began unfastening her dress, watching as her bare back started to come into view. Once Ravina found the dress becoming loose enough, she wiggled out of it. Eddie stared as the dress slipped off her frame, revealing her slender back, curvy hips and round buttocks. He licked his lips, feeling the blood from his brain transfer into his loins. Ravina turned to face him, flipping her hair over her shoulders, her bare breasts exposed.
“Now you,” she said, placing her hands on her hips.
Eddie’s eyes were locked on her ample bosom, he hadn’t heard what she had just said.
“Oh, for the love of Freya,” Ravina said, pulling his tunic out from his trousers and working it over his head.
Once his tunic was removed, it was Ravina’s turn to stare. Eddie was thick with muscle, a solid block of a man. His chest was dusted with hair that progressed to a line down his firm abdomen, trailing down to his crotch. His bronzed skin was inked with tattoos and his nipples were hard. She held his tunic in front of her not knowing that her eyes were wide and her mouth was slightly open. He laughed softly, taking the tunic from her hands and tossing it aside.
“Anything else you wanna tell me to do?” he said, taking her into his arms.
His strong arms enveloped her into his embrace, her naked flesh pressed into this bare torso. Her nipples brushed against his hairy chest, delivering a gratifying tickle. His body was solid, built like a true warrior, but at the same time it was warm and inviting. He made her feel secure in his arms. She looked up and gazed into his eyes which were indeed the color of the raging sea. A mixture of deep blue, steel gray and emerald green.
“Yes, kiss me,” she said.
He smiled and lowered his head, skimming his plush lips over her own. She slid her arms around his thick neck and accepted his kiss. He was tender, first kissing her top lip then nibbling on her bottom. The lovers carefully explored the surface of each other's lips, then Eddie’s tongue glided into her mouth. A deep ache swelled within her nether regions, causing her core to throb, demanding that she fill the emptiness. And not just to fill, but to overfill, to cram, to stuff, to make it seem like her poor cunt would burst from the volume that would be Eddie’s cock. Her dainty hands slipped into his soft, brown hair while his strong, calloused hands moved to rest on her hips, his fingertips resting on the base of her rump.
Their kiss began to grow more desperate. A developing, lustful hunger that was starting to consume them both. Eddie’s hand moved down to her thighs and he hiked her up onto his hips. He carried her over to the bed as they kissed and he laid her down upon it. He stood back, kicked off his boots and removed his trousers. Ravina watched as his erection was released from the restraint of the cloth. His phallus was an impressive size and she pushed off the bed to touch it. Her fingers gingerly traced the outline of his length, enjoying the sensation of the veins and hard flesh beneath her fingers. Eddie emitted a gravelly growl, the type of masucline moan that Ravina’s cunt to clench again.
He pushed her onto her back and she spread her legs around him. He kissed her again, slowly and deeply, his tongue prying her mouth open. Ravina could feel the heat and pressure of his cock betwixt her thighs. As he kissed her, his slight movements edged her folds around the head of his cock. The base of it occasionally brushed against her clit causing Ravina to moan out in pleasure. Eddie moved to her neck, she felt his teeth scrap over her skin, his tongue lick and his mouth suck. He gradually moved downwards, focusing on her breasts. His mouth landed on her left nipple, he held her tit in his hand as he suckled. She gasped and gripped the covers of the bed, shuddering beneath the weight of his body.
Eddie could feel the top of his cock getting wet from her cunt. He gave the nipple he wasn’t sucking a light pinch, eliciting a sexy little cry from Ravina. He then directed his fingers down between her legs, pushing two thick fingers into her entrance, testing to ensure his Queen was thoroughly drenched. Her nectar gushed over his fingers and he carefully worked them in and out of her, his thumb skimming the surface of her quivering clit. Ravina writhed atop the mattress as Eddie looked down upon her, focusing intensely on her pleasure. He pressed his forehead against hers as he worked his fingers, her honey dripping over his fingers now. She arched her back and whimpered, her hands holding him tight. He watched her come undone, her cream rushing forth, her body tensing and the most sensual moans Eddie had ever heard come forth from a woman were released from her mouth.
Ravina felt almost delirious as she came down. She watched as Eddie situated himself between her legs. He kissed her gently on the nose.
“Mind if I?” he said, squaring up his cock with her entrance.
She nodded, nipping at his nose, making him chuckle. Ravina found his nose adorable. It was a little smashed, he must have broken it a few times. But it only enhanced his handsome features. Eddie eased into her, Ravina feeling the width of his cock delve through her walls. The expansion of her pussy caused Ravina to tense up, she wrapped her arms around him. As she clinged to him, she bit softly into his shoulder.
“Hey, am I hurting you? You’re fucking tight. When’s the last time you played hide the pickle?” he said, jokingly.
She gave him an unamused look. “What did I say about the pickle thing?”
“Hey, beautiful. Pay attention, huh? Your pussy is about to turn my cock into a fucking diamond. Am I hurting you or not?”
“Only a little, I just need to adjust to your size,” she said, wiggling her bottom causing him to slip further inside, her walls hungrily swallowing him.
This action caused the both of them to moan in pleasure.
“Whoa, wait. Let me just…fuck, you feel so good…um, just give me a second,” Eddie said, lowering his head and trying to focus all his will power on not thrusting his hips.
“Eddie, stop treating me like I’m a virgin. Give it to me,” she said, gently raking her nails down his lower back down to his firm buttocks.
This made Eddie shudder and his cock flexed inside her. Ravina spread her legs wider, offering herself completely to him. He nodded and began to thrust, his thickness opening her up, molding her around his cock.
“Is this okay?” he asked.
“Yeah, but…I want more. Go harder,” she said, closing her eyes.
She was enjoying the strange sensation of pain and pleasure as he began to fuck her harder. He gripped her arms and pinned them to the bed. He continued to deliver power thrusts, keeping his head low, concentrating on maintaining his composure. She lay with her legs open, her most intimate body part being subjected to a merciless barrage of Eddie’s bulging cock. She liked that he was pinning her down, the lack of control to make him stop was very appealing. Suddenly the urge to role play stuck her.
“Please release me, I beg you,” she whispered.
Eddie slowed down immediately and froze.
“Huh?”
“Why are you stopping?” she asked.
“You said…” Eddie began.
“I know, just play along,” she said, looking at him earnestly.
“Ah, I see,” Eddie said, picking up the pace again.
“You WolfBlood beast, I’m the Queen of Rakovec, you cannot do this to me,” she whined as he stuffed her cunt.
“Shut up, slut. You need this, didn’t you? You brought us here to get your tight little pussy pounded, yeah?”
The demeaning talk was getting Ravina closer to another ograsm as he ravished her.
“No, let me go!” she said, playing the part of damsel in distress.
“Beautiful little slut, you’re enjoying this. My own personal fucktoy, getting her little hole filled with my meat. Now shut up and take it!”
With that, Eddie edged himself up into her core, filling her up completely. He flexed his cock and Ravina moaned out his name. She shuddered and he watched her once again come undone. Her brow furrowed, her mouth opened and sexy little cries poured forth as she came. It was time for him too and he jackhammered her into the mattress as he cashed after his release.
“Don’t pull out, cum inside me,” she moaned into his ear.
Those words alone were enough to topple him over the edge and he tensed up. The release came in a flood and he moaned loudly as his seed spilled forth from his bulging tip. Ravina felt his hot seed fill her womb, as he hung his head and groaned between her tits. His cock grew limp within her and he removed himself. He looked down at her with hooded eyes.
“Well, damn. Who’d have thought the Queen of Rakovec was a sexy little fox,” he said, grinning.
She smiled and traced his impressive chest with her fingers. It most certainly had been a memorable session of intense love making. She sighed dreamily, enjoying the presence of such a deliciously handsome man when her eyes flew open. There had been a purpose to this, not just for sex.
“How do you feel?” she asked, pushing him up off her.
She inspected him closely, cupping his face, turning his head side to side.
“Uh, what?” Eddie asked, confused.
“The ritual, it is complete. How do you feel? Do you feel….godly?” she asked.
“Oh, yeah for sure, I feel pretty godly after getting you to cum twice,” he said, grinning.
She stared at him in disbelief.
“You mean…you mean nothing’s changed, you feel the same?” she asked.
“Yeah, sorry. I don’t feel like a half god, or whatever,” he said.
Ravina rested back on her bottom and looked confused.
“No…this can’t be…I was told…” she said, shaking her head.
Eddie watched as Ravina appeared to have lost every bit of happiness from their previous experience.
“Hey? What’s the matter?” Eddie said, with concern.
Ravina looked up at him, tears in her eyes.
“It’s all a lie. I…I can’t,” she said, climbing out of bed.
“Wait, hey, come here,” he said, pulling her back into the bed.
He wrapped her in an embrace and held her against him. They were sitting at the edge of the bed and Ravina felt limp in his arms.
“Forget it, hmmm? It’s gonna be okay,” he said, kissing her cheek.
He tasted the salt of her tears and he nuzzled his nose into her neck.
“Your powers should have been released. She was wrong, I’m not the one,” she said, numbly.
“Who was wrong?”
“My grandmother, she said I was chosen for you and James. And if you didn’t turn into a half god…all this is…it’s either a lie or I’m not the one,” she said, her voice trembling.
Ravina sent Eddie away. He only obeyed as she seemed very upset. He thought they still had a wonderful time together. He was disappointed that she couldn’t get past the fact that he hadn’t turned into a half god at the end of it. None of it mattered, anyhow. He and James were planning an escape and he needed to focus on getting back home. Having sex with Ravina proved that the half god rumor was nonsense, but having been with her in such an intimate way, Eddie couldn’t help but care for her. She seemed so upset and it hurt him to see her in pain. But he’d push his feelings aside.
That night, Ravina would confront her grandmother and James and Eddie would plan their escape.

Prologue: The WolfBlood Princes
On a crisp autumn morning during the second year of Horace WolfBlood’s reign, two princes were born. The king had only been expecting one child, but was surprised to hear that his wife, Queen Salish, had given birth to twin sons. News spread far and wide of the princes’ birth, not only because King Horace now had two healthy heirs, but twins were seen as divine, a gift from the gods.
Therefore it didn’t take long for the rumors to begin. It was said that the princes were not the actual sons of Horace, but of Marrok, the great Wolf-God of the west. The other kingdoms, RavenSnow, BoarsReign, BearStone and DragonBane all turned a watchful eye toward the WolfBlood Kingdom. It hadn’t been the first time the gods had bred with mortals. Half god princes were seen as a threat and the kingdoms took the rumor seriously.
And as the princes grew into men, it was apparent to everyone that they were different. They were faster and stronger than the other boys. They excelled in combat, triumphing over their opponents with ease in the training ring. In addition, their skill in archery and horse riding was incomparable, winning any tournament they entered. All of these feats were impressive and could be passed off as athletic prowess, but there was one thing that made even the WolfBlood citizens think that their princes were fathered by Marrok. It was their ability to go into the sacred berserker state without the aid of the magical potion, dyreeliksir.
Going berserk was reserved for the battlefield. However, as a right of passage, young warriors who completed their training would drink dyreeliksir. Once the potion was consumed, they would go into the forest, meditate and connect with their animal spirit. This connection meant that anytime they partook of dyreeliksir, they’d possess the powers of their kingdom’s sacred animal. The twins, at a young age, could access these powers without the aid of dyreeliksir. This gift only strengthened the rumor that they were part god. But whatever the truth, there was one thing that was undeniably certain. The princes had a destiny before them. Whether it was for greatness or for ruin would only be revealed by time.
Chapter 1: Prisoners of War
The footfall of a thousand WolfBlood warriors shook the earth violently as they collided with their enemy. The loud clash of metal against metal rang out into the cold winter’s day. The virgin white snow that had fallen the night before was now trampled and tainted with the color of blood. War cries and screams of the dying echoed through the air, imprinting the chaotic energy into the fabric of time. The opposing armies struggled against each other, neither willing to relent. Yet only one would triumph that day, although the price would be high, paid with the lives of their brethren.
James and Eddie WolfBlood led the charge that day, leading a small battalion to defend one of the remaining fortifications of the WolfBlood Kingdom. The other units had been dispatched to fight at the northern border, defending the kingdom against DragonBane armies. On the eastern front, the Kingdom of Rakovec, a recent unification of RavenSnow and BearStone kingdoms, was engaged with Prince James and Prince Eddie’s army. The odds were not good for the princes. The Rakovec army had sent three thousand warriors and they had only one thousand. Their chances of winning were impossible they knew, but they fought on. Each of their warriors had consumed dyreeliksir, throwing them into the sacred mindset of the berserker. The WolfBlood army raged, taking the lives of hundreds of Rakovec warriors in their wake.
“Behind you!” Eddie shouted as a Rakovec warrior charged up behind James.
James turned with the quickness of a wolf, slicing his ax through the air and cleaving his enemy’s head in two. Eddie threw up his sword just in time as another enemy warrior attacked. He pushed the warrior back and kicked the other man square in the chest, forcing him to the muddy earth. Once the man had fallen, Eddie brought down his broadsword, skewering his opponent through the heart.
“There are too many!” James yelled.
“I know, we can no longer hold them back!” Eddie yelled back.
“To Valhalla!” James shouted, inspiring the remaining WolfBlood warriors to repeat his words.
With a last mighty war cry, the WolfBlood warriors rushed forward eager to end their lives in combat that would grant them access to the Great Hall of Odin. It would have been a glorious conclusion to the princes’ lives if they had died. But fate had other plans for them. In the end, the princes and six other WolfBlood warriors survived and were taken prisoner.
The prisoners were forced to their knees and their wrists bound with rope. The general of the Rakovec army tiredly walked over to stand in front of the twin princes. His name was Birger Bjørnepote. He was an older man with graying hair and intelligent green eyes.
“You fought admirably, but it was all in vain. Your tactics would have fared you better if you had simply given up your eastern front and sent your forces north to fight the DragonBane army,” Bjørnepote said.
“Thank you, general, but I think your advice comes a bit late, doesn’t it?” James said.
“Indeed it does. If only I had thought a simple letter to King Horace would have deterred him from sending his sons and warriors to the slaughter,” Bjørnepote said, sardonically.
“If only,” Eddie said, spitting out blood from his mouth.
“Honestly, I’m amazed you lasted as long as you did. Your warriors must of ingested quite an amount of dyreeliksir. You do know that too much of it can be lethal?”
“That was the idea,” Eddie said.
“Ah, so you did expect them to all die. How interesting,” Bjørnepote said, nodding.
“Is there a point to this conversation, general?” James asked, annoyed.
Bjørnepote looked off toward the war caravan. The troops were preparing to return to the Rakovec capital, Horbánimr. The battle had ended at nightfall, so their plan was to depart in the morning. A light snow had begun to fall from the heavens, coating the remnants of the battle field. The moon’s rays reflected off the snow, emitting an eerie pale glow. As if death itself hovered over the field, absorbing the spirits of the dead.
Bjørnepote returned his attention to the princes and gave them a mirthless smile.
“I see your kingdom and all that is happening in an objective sense. I can see clearly what you cannot,” Bjørnepote said.
“Speak plainly,” James said.
“Very well. Your Kingdom is at an end. It is time to make some choices,” Bjørnepote said.
“Choices? Offered by who, your Queen?” Eddie said.
“Aye, Queen Ravina eagerly awaits your arrival. She has much to discuss with the Wolf princes, so I suggest you get a good night’s sleep,” Bjørnepote said, turning away to go and monitor the preparation of departure.
It was very cold, so the prisoners were allowed a campfire, mats to keep off the frozen ground and blankets to keep warm. Around the fire huddled six of the prisoners, including the princes. The men sat in miserable silence, mourning their fallen brothers in arms, their corpses still surrounding the camp.
“What do you suppose the Queen will offer you?” Geri said, suddenly speaking.
“Don’t ask such a daft questions,” Freki said.
Geri and Freki were part of the six prisoners. They were cousins to the princes, from their mother’s side. They had darker complexions, large brown eyes, tan skin and black hair. Freki was a bit smaller than Geri, but both were well built and solid warriors. They were named after Odin’s wolves.
“My assumption is that she wants us to forfeit our birthright. Give her the kingdom so she can push back the DragonBane army. Then lay claim over the west,” James said, picking up a twig from the tender and tossing it into the flames.
“Do you think the Dragons felled the northern battalion?” Geri said.
“I don’t know, I suppose we’ll find out soon enough,” Eddie said.
“Do you think the stories are true? About the Queen, I mean?” Geri asked.
“Why do you ask so many bloody questions?” Freki said, rolling his eyes.
“Because we’re surrounded by the dead, you twat. If we don’t show that we are part of the living, the psychopomps might mistake us for those who need guidance to the afterlife,” Geri snapped.
“I highly doubt she’s a terrifying Ogress who enjoys the taste of human flesh,” Eddie said, chuckling.
“Not that story. I heard she takes in the most handsome men and puts them in a harem. Like they do for women in Arabia,” Geri said.
“The Queen is half Arabian. Perhaps she’s introducing some cultural influences from her mother’s lands,” Freki said, laughing.
“Perhaps she’ll put us in the harem. If she’s beautiful, it might not be so terrible,” Eddie said, laughing and looking over at James.
James stared into the flames, deep in thought. But he heard his brother’s joke and shifted his intense blue eyes onto his brother.
“A pleasant fantasy. That is if we agreed to relinquish our kingdom. But what do you think she will do if we deny her?” James asked.
Eddie nodded, his jovial state now dampened by the thought of torture.
That night, the men slept listlessly. The light of the morning sun found all six warriors wide awake, ready, but apprehensive for the departure to Horbánimr. The Rakovec soldiers who were on the last watch walked over to the prisoners’ camp. They roughly guided them over to the back of a wagon and formed them into two lines. They proceeded to tether three of the WolfBlood warriors in each line to each other. The lead prisoner facing the wagon itself was then attached to the wagon. As the caravan departed, the wagons heaved forward and pulled the prisoners with them.
It would take seven nights and eight days to journey to Horbánimr. It would not have been such an arduous journey if it had been any other season aside from winter. Snow dunes swept over the roads causing the wagons to come to a stop in order for Rakovec soldiers to dig their way through. The surface of the roads were frozen solid, forcing the horses to walk slowly to avoid slipping. By the time they saw the great walls of Horbánimr rising up from beyond a snow covered hill, the prisoners were exhausted, cold and hungry.
The caravan made its way to the city's grand northern gates. Two giant wooden doors barred the entrance and were flanked by two massive stone statues of Viking warriors holding a broadsword to their chests. A soldier approached the gate, pulled out a horn and blew into it three times. The bellowing of the horn echoed loudly. After a long pause, the wooden doors began to groan open, allowing the caravan to commence over the threshold and into the city. As they traveled inward, the prisoners could see that the city was immense.
“Odin’s ax…” Eddie said in awe as they walked. “How many people do you think reside here?”
“I last heard nearly seven thousand,” James said.
“Seven thousand? Úlfr-Steinn can only sustain two thousand,” Eddie said, speaking of their capital city back home.
“How could they have built all this in just a year?” Geri asked, amazed.
“The city itself is old, it used to be Dreki-Hjarta,” James said.
“Dreki-Hjarta? Then this used to be DragonBane territory,” Freki said.
“That’s right. The battle of Drálgjakn nine months ago was won by Queen Ravina, she took Dreki-Hjarta as her prize,” Eddie said.
“And that is why King Draco storms our northern border, so he can cut through our territory to gain access to the western side of Rakovec,” James said, disdainfully.
“Ah, because the only clean access point to Dreki-Hjarta is from the western front. North and East are too mountainous,” Geri said, nodding.
“So, basically, WolfBlood is fucked,” Freki said, shaking his head.
“More or less,” James muttered.
The procession continued through the main street, their destination, the Queen’s palace. As the caravan moved onward, curious citizens came to the side of the street to watch. Some cheered merrily for the return of their soldiers, while others booed and hissed at the prisoners. At one point, a rotten tomato hurtled through the air and smacked Eddie on his shoulder. Seconds later, James narrowly dodged a stinky turnip that was aimed at his head.
“Oie! Fuck off!” Freki shouted angrily.
Freki’s outburst was not helpful. In retaliation, an onslaught of rotten vegetables peppered the prisoners.
“Well, that was brilliant. Mind keeping your mouth shut the rest of the way?” James snapped.
Up ahead, a large building started to come into view. They could tell by the extravagant nature of the building that it was the Queen’s palace. It was a dark wooden structure atop a glistening stone-white foundation. Once the caravan entered a fork in the road, it halted abruptly. A group of Rakovec warriors came back to untie the princes and began escorting them toward the palace. The rest of the caravan diverted to the left, toward the soldier barracks and the prison.
“Stay strong and stay alive!” Freki shouted to his cousins.
“You do the same, see you on the other side!” Eddie replied.
They walked up the palace stone steps and entered through a pair of heavy oak doors. The Rakovec warriors who had taken them from the caravan halted at the door. A set of palace guards came to the door and resumed responsibility for the prisoners. The interior of the palace proved to be extraordinary. It was constructed of the finest wood, in which every inch of it was meticulously polished. Grand wooden pillars that supported the roof had intricate designs etched carefully into the wood while elegant blue and purple silk tapestries imported from Arabia decorated the walls.
The princes were taken deeper into the palace, winding through the expansive hallways until they were stopped in front of a door. A guard moved forward and knocked. A soft voice came from within and the guard stood to the side as he opened the door. The princes were led into a large bed chamber where a hearth with a roaring fire crackled pleasantly to the left side of the room. The heat of the room caressed their frozen skin, providing a much needed respite from the winter’s cold. A medium sized bed filled the center of the room, a large bear skin covered the floor in front of the fire. A set of blue velvet curtains hung at the only window in the room. Two comfortable chairs were placed in front of the fireplace and from one of the chairs a woman stood up. She had long black hair streaked with white. It had been styled into a single braided plait that hung off her shoulder. The woman was clearly of Arabic heritage and for an older woman, she was beautiful. Her most noticeable feature, however, were her eyes. They were the color of light lavender, a signature mark of a mage.
"Greetings, princes and welcome to Horbánimr. Here you are our guests,” the woman said, her voice low and smokey.
Eddie gave James a hesitant look as if asking his brother to engage in conversation with this woman of magic.
“Tell me, is it a Rakovec custom to first take your guests as prisoners?” James asked.
The old woman laughed softly and smiled.
“No, but this is no standard invitation either, wouldn’t you agree?” she said.
“I suppose not. Well, since we are here, why don’t you tell us who you are?” James replied.
“My name is Nashwa, I am the Queen’s mage,” she said.
“And the reason for our…invitation?” Eddie interjected.
Nashwa turned her focus on Eddie, her lavender eyes dancing over him with interest.
“That is an explanation best left to my Queen. She is currently occupied at this moment. However, as you wait, I encourage you to bathe and dress into something fresh. You reek of sweat, blood and rotten vegetables,” Nashwa said, smiling as she walked over to the door.
The guards came over and cut the rope from their wrists. They then followed Nashwa from the room, the door closed and the sound of the deadbolt sliding into the place was heard from the other side. James immediately went to the window, pushing the velvet curtains to the side. Heavy iron bars prevented access to the window and James sighed heavily with disappointment, letting the curtains fall back into place.
Eddie glanced around the room and spotted a large partition. He walked over and peeked behind it and found two wooden bathtubs. Steam coiled up from the heat of the water making the bath look extremely inviting. Understanding that escape wasn’t an option, Eddie stripped down and slipped into one of the baths. The warm, therapeutic water enveloped his body causing him to groan in pleasure. He could feel the tenseness in his muscles slowly melting away. He rested his arms on the side of the tub and closed his eyes to soak. James heard the splash of water and Eddie groaning. He came around from the other side to see the tubs. He followed suit and disrobed, sliding into the healing waters of the bath. He closed his eyes as well, suddenly feeling very tired.
Feeling a bit more rested, Eddie found a bar of soap and cloth sitting next to the tub. He lathered up the cloth with suds and began the work of scrubbing the thin layer of grime that had formed over his skin. James tilted his over to see that Eddie was washing. He decided he too should commence with bathing before the guards came back to take them to the Queen. As the brothers washed, the water of the tubs changed from clear to gray. Once they were thoroughly clean, they climbed out from the tubs and dried themselves.
“Looks like they left some clothes out for us,” Eddie said, nodding his head over to the bed as he dried under his arms.
Naked, they walked over to inspect the fresh clothing. Each set provided a navy colored tunic, black wool trousers, wool socks and a black leather belt with a silver buckle. By the foot of the bed sat two pairs of black leather boots.
“Fantastic, they’ve given us matching outfits,” Eddie said, unamused.
“Interesting power move, making us feel like children. Remember that mother used to dress us in matching clothing?” James said, picking up the trousers and putting them on.
“Ah, you think this was done intentionally? You think the Queen is trying to tell us that she’s our mommy?” Eddie said, chuckling as he shrugged on his tunic.
James gave his brother a mirthless look and slid into his tunic.
“I think she is just attempting to belittle us, that’s all,” James said.
Eddie nodded uninterestedly and idly touched his neck. When his fingers did not find what they were searching for, Eddie’s eyes widened in panic.
“Oh fuck,” Eddie hissed and rushed back to the dirty clothing he had dumped in a pile by the tub.
“What is it?” James asked, confused.
“The damn necklace, I swear I fucking had it when we entered the city,” Eddie said, shifting through the clothes in haste.
His fingers finally connected with a thin brown leather strap. He lifted it out of the clothing revealing a necklace that held an obsidian wolf head amulet.
“Oh, thank Freya’s tits,” Eddie said, sighing with relief.
The necklace had been a gift from their mother. She died mysteriously a few days afterwards, her death was never fully explained to the brothers. The princes were devastated by this news, they had been twenty years of age at the time. Their mother was from DragonBane and had married their father for the sake of an alliance. It was not a marriage of love, but of convenience for King Horace. He did not allow his wife to visit home and only permitted her relatives to come to visit her. James and Eddie knew of their DragonBane side of the family, but they had not seen them for almost eighteen years.
“Eddie, don’t be careless with that, it’s irreplaceable,” James said, clicking his tongue in annoyance.
“Leave me alone. It’s been kinda distracting becoming a prisoner of war and all,” Eddie replied with the same level of annoyance.
The abrupt sound of the deadbolt being released outside the door ended their argument. James had been lacing up his boots and Eddie hurriedly grabbed his pair and began to do the same. The door opened and Nashwa stepped inside, four servants then entered the room, holding covered trays. They placed each tray on a long side table that was against the wall closest to the door. As the covers were removed the delicious aroma of food filled the room. The food consisted of roasted beef, duck and pork, a basket of bread and roasted vegetables. Three flagons of mead accompanied the meal.
Nashwa’s pale lavender eyes drifted over the princes as the food was laid out.
“My, you two certainly are handsome. You clean up very well,” she said, smiling.
The brothers stood awkwardly, uncertain how to respond to the flirtatious comment by the older woman. But Nashwa was unphased and turned to find the food was prepared.
“Ah, the food is ready. Please eat and drink to your fill. After, I shall take you to the Queen,” Nashwa said.
With that she and the servants left the room and closed the door, leaving the brothers alone once more. Immediately the brothers approached the table and began to eat hungrily. They had not had a proper meal since the day before the battle. Their stomachs rumbled as they bit into the succulent meats and stuffed their mouths with roasted vegetables. They finished with the bread and guzzled it down with mead. With their hunger sated, the brothers sat down in front of the fire. It was slowly dying, so Eddie got up and added a few logs to the flames.
“Whatever happens, no matter what, we stick together,” James said.
“No matter what,” Eddie said, agreeing.
They sat quietly staring into the fire, watching the hypnotic dance of its flame. Sedated by food and warmth, the brothers slowly drifted off into the dream realm. Whatever was to come, they would face it together.

Chapter 2: The Queen of Rakovec
As the princes slipped into a deep slumber, awaiting to be retrieved by the Queen’s mage, they began to dream. A lone banner stood erect at the entrance to the WolfBlood royal house. It was on fire, the flames eating at the maroon fabric embroidered with a golden wolf. The royal house too was ablaze, thick billowing smoke rose up into the sky and to add to the polluted air was the terrified screaming of WolfBlood citizens. In their sleep, James and Eddie twitched and groaned as they watched their city come to ruin.
The hot, white ash that peeled off the destruction drifted through the wind, finding its way to the royal cemetery where their mother had been laid to rest. The ash aimlessly circled the white stone statue of their mother, Queen Salish. It was her burial marker now covered in ivy and weathered by the elements. The sky above was a sickly green and rumbled with thunder. There was an eerie moment of silence before the sky opened up and torrents of rain fell heavily from the heavens. Suddenly, a single bolt of lightning charged out of the sky, connecting with the statue. Large fragments of stone exploded, scattering the remnants around its base.
The emotional impact from seeing their home burn and watching the desecration of their beloved mother’s image accelerated their breathing as they slept. A film of sweat crept over their brow as they watched the horrific sight unfold. Then in the darkness a faint golden light approached. As it slowly came into view it appeared to be shaped like a silhouette of a woman. It began the chore of picking up the stone pieces of the statue. Piece by piece, she rebuilt the statue as if it had never been destroyed. As she worked, her image became clearer. As the last piece was secured, they could see a woman wearing an indigo cloak with a hood. She carefully removed the hood and looked up at the statue with satisfaction. She gradually turned, her face coming into view.
The loud sound of the deadbolt being released startled the brothers awake. They had seen the woman’s face, but had not recognized her. Now inside the chamber, Nashwa and four armed guards awaited them.
“I apologize for the hour, but the Queen would like to see you now,” Nashwa said, motioning a hand to the hallway.
The princes arose from their chairs and followed Nashwa into the corridor. The guards followed, creating a box shaped formation around the twins as they proceeded forward. Eddie glanced over to James, wondering if his brother had dreamed as well.
“Did you…uh, did you dream of anything while you slept?” Eddie whispered.
James nodded in affirmation, but said nothing. Eddie was too curious and pressed the issue.
“I think I had a nightmare. I saw home, I saw it on fire. And then…and then mother’s statue…it…it,” Eddie stamared over the last part as it caused his heart to ache.
“It was destroyed,” James said, staring ahead blankly.
“Yeah…and then some woman rebuilt it. Did you see?” Eddie asked.
James once again nodded.
Eddie could feel gooseflesh creeping over the back of his neck. It was a very eerie sensation knowing that they had shared the same dream. They walked the rest of the way in silence. Eventually they exited the palace and found themselves outside in a large courtyard. Surrounding the perimeter were high stone walls. Any chance of an easy escape from the palace grounds had become unlikely.
The night was late, the temperature a bitter cold nipping uncomfortably at their exposed flesh. Above in the dark sky the waning moon gave off a faint silvery luminescence. It provided enough light to guide them through the darkness. It was silent around them with the exception of the soft crunch of frozen snow beneath their boots. Nashwa led them over to a Viking longhouse. The guards climbed up the steps to open the doors. It was warm inside, the aroma of fire smoke and incense scented the air. Nashwa took them to the center of the longhouse where they found a woman kneeling before an altar. The altar held several images of the gods. There were several burning candles spread in front and an array of golden coins and weaponry decorated the surface. From behind, the woman had long black raven hair that reached to her mid back.
“My Queen, I have brought the WolfBlood princes,” Nashwa said.
They approached the woman, waiting a few feet behind her. She seemed to ignore Nashwa for a moment, then she stood up and turned to face them. James and Eddie almost took a step back. It was the woman from their dream. Her appearance was simply divine, that of a goddess who had stepped forth from Asgard. Yet she was kissed by the blessings of the Arabian sun. Her skin was a smooth olive tone, her eyes were large golden-brown pools shrouded by dark lashes and lips full and sensual. She wore an elegant Viking dress the color of indigo.
She had intelligent eyes that carefully inspected each brother. A brief silence hung over them like a weight of great anticipation. A strange sensation enveloped the brothers, though they knew not that the other was experiencing the same feeling. It was as if this woman exuded a sense of deep tranquility. Her mannerism felt familiar and the energy about her, the aura, brought peace to their minds. A peace that they had not felt since the death of their mother.
“Greetings, I am Queen Ravina, protector of Rakovec,” she said.
She had a modulated voice, controlled and pleasing to the ear. It held a sense of authority, yet was comforting at the same time.
“I’m pleased to finally meet you both. I know you have been through much. Are your quarters comfortable? Are you lacking anything?” she asked.
“Uh, I’d like to request a change in clothing,” Eddie said, glancing at the matching clothing he and James were wearing.
The Queen’s eyes flickered across the brothers’ impressive physiques.
“If that is what you wish,” she replied.
There was a brief moment of awkward silence. There seemed to be an uncertainty of where the conversation should lead next. James decided to take control of the situation and get to the point of the matter.
“What exactly is the purpose of our presence?” James said.
Ravina walked closer to the brothers, the light scent of her perfume, a citrusy ginger, fragranced the air. She held them in a steady gaze before she spoke.
“I hope to convince you of merging your kingdom with Rakovec,” she said.
“No,” James said, frankly.
Ravina nodded and then looked over to Nashwa, who was standing off to the side.
“Would you give me the room, Nashwa?” Ravina asked.
Nashwa lowered her head in a slight bow and left the room. Ravina then resumed her attention on the princes.
“Where shall I begin?” she said, seemingly speaking to herself. “You see this is a delicate matter. And any attempt of me explaining it will seem…off putting to you.”
“Well, try,” James said.
“Very well. You, both of you, share a destiny. And that destiny is to become the Kings of Vikingdom,” she said, matter of factly.
This was not what the princes had been expecting. Their assumption had been that she wanted them to take the knee and relinquish their kingdom to her. Between the brothers, Eddie’s face was the easiest to read. James, on the other hand, always kept a stoic expression. A look of disbelief spread over Eddie’s face and he shoved his hands into his pockets.
“I’m sorry, what now?” Eddie asked, his brow furrowed in contemplation.
Ravina smiled. She had a very pretty smile and try as the brothers might, it caused them to find her even more alluring.
“Good, now that I have your attention. The rest might not seem so unbelievable,” she said.
“Well? Get on with it,” James said, growing restless.
She gave James a bit of a distasteful glance. After all, she was a queen and was not accustomed to being told what to do. But she went ahead and began to tell them exactly why they were there.
“On September the 15, twin princes were born. Those princes were not the sons of King Horace, they were the sons of the Wolf God, Marrok,” Ravina said.
“Now, wait just a minute,” James said, interrupting.
Ravina shook her head and held up a hand.
“No, you will listen first then you can speak,” she said, her voice a bit sterner now.
James fell silent, though he was burning to disagree with her accusation.
“The blood that flows through your veins is half god. Your mother, Salish, was visited by Marrok and thus you were conceived. The god’s intention was to bring forth a new era, having his sons reign over all the kingdoms of Vikings,” Ravina said.
“That’s rubbish, absolute nonsense,” James scoffed.
“Queen Salish, however, died. She wasn’t able to ensure that the ritual for her sons to accept their godhood was secured,” Ravina said, ignoring James’ comment.
“What are you going on about?” Eddie said, now thoroughly confused.
“King Horace is fully aware you aren’t his sons. What I’m about to say is based on what I’ve been told by the Oracle of Rakovec and she is never wrong,” Ravina said.
James and Eddie folded their arms, already deciding that the Queen was completely mad.
“You’re mother, Salish was murdered,” Ravina said.
This information floored the brothers. It was the equivalence of being slapped in the face.
“You’re fucking wrong,” James said, angrily.
“We were never told how she died, James…” Eddie said, in a low voice.
“That doesn’t mean she was murdered!” James said, turning toward Eddie.
“Why? Why was she killed? And who killed her?” Eddie asked, his head low but his eyes looking at Ravina.
“Horace killed her. He found out that you weren’t his children. How, I am not certain. But in his rage, he murdered Salish,” Ravina said.
“Enough of this! You lie, you only want our kingdom and you’re lying to influence us,” James growled.
“No, I’m not lying. In fact, I can have you see. If you allow me to perform the ritual that will awaken your godhood, you will know the truth,” Ravina said.
“If any of this is true, why are you trying to help us? If we are in fact future Kings of Vikingdom, won’t that mean you lose your crown?” Eddie said, challenging her.
Ravina hesitated for a moment, but shook her head.
“The gods have told me that my destiny is intertwined with yours,” she said.
“So it is you who will forfeit your kingdom to us?” James asked.
“No, that’s not what I’ve been instructed to do. I’ve been told to awaken your godhood and then…” Ravina said, trailing off and looking away almost in embarrassment.
“Then?” Eddie said, pushing her to finish.
“Then I am to wed you both,” she said, quickly.
The brothers could see that the Queen was beginning to blush. She had kept her head held high up to this point, but was now looking down at her shoes.
“Wha…we, uh…can you say that last part again?” Eddie said.
“I have been told I am your consort,” Ravina said, looking briefly up and then away again.
Eddie scratched the back of his head, trying to digest all the information he had just heard. James was almost expressionless, albeit a slight glare imprinted on his face. He wasn’t pleased by the news of his mother’s demise. But now he wasn’t entirely sure if the Queen was lying. All he knew at this point is that he wanted to go home.
“This is madness, we will not be participating in any fucking ritual,” James said.
Ravina looked up, her golden-eyes staring hard at James.
“You must! This is essential. Do you know that DragonBane will storm WolfBlood on the way to my kingdom? They will destroy your home. If you concede to this ritual, it will unleash your godly potential. Right now, I assume you two are stronger, faster than the average man. If you open up the magical properties in your blood, you’ll be unstoppable and you can save WolfBlood,” Ravina said.
“No, I’m not giving you a chance to enchant us, witch,” James hissed.
“Witch? I am no witch and there will be no enchanting,” Ravina said, a little offended.
“This ritual…how is it performed? Uh, just asking out of curiosity,” Eddie said, adding the last part when James glared daggers into him.
This time Ravina’s cheeks blushed a dark crimson and she folded her arms, looking off to the side again.
“Oh, um, it’s…I…well…” she said, stammering over her words.
James and Eddie stared at her, waiting for her to explain.
“Well, it’s fairly basic…the Oracle said to perform the same action that…um, brought you into conception…” Ravina said, now looking up at the ceiling.
“You mean…sex?” James asked.
Ravina nodded, but still unable to look them in the eyes.
“Huh…that doesn’t sound terrible,” Eddie said, looking over at his brother.
James rolled his eyes, but was thinking the same thing.
“It doesn’t matter, we won’t participate. We are going home,” James said, firmly.
This comment brought Ravina out of her embarrassed state. She placed her hands on her hips and glared at James.
“It does matter and you aren’t going home,” she said, just as firmly.
“What are you going to do? Rape us?” James said.
“Of course not! Oh, this is ridiculous! You know what, go to your room and think about what I said,” she said, pointing her finger in the direction of the palace.
Eddie looked over at James, a smirk on his face.
“See, I told you she thinks she’s our mommy,” Eddie said.

Chapter 3: Magical Womanhood
It was early morning and the palace was coming alive with activity. Nashwa, the Queen’s mage, had gone to the Queen’s quarters to speak with her. Upon entering the chamber, it was empty. Although it was sunny outside, the day was still cold. But Nashwa knew that even the cold could not keep the Queen out of the forest. So, the mage prepared her horse for the short trek out into the woods behind the palace.
Queen Ravina reached into her quiver and extracted an arrow. She carefully notched it and with precision, pulled back the bowstring. Her eyes narrowed as she focused on the target that she had placed several yards ahead. Exhaling slowly, she released the arrow and watched as it hissed through the air. The arrow landed dead center of the bullseye. She began to notch another arrow, but turned when she saw Nashwa galloping upon on a horse. The older woman dismounted and tethered the steed to a nearby tree.
“So you’re hiding, are you?” Nashwa said, walking over to the Queen.
“I’m not hiding. You found me didn’t you?” Ravina said, returning her focus on the arrow.
“Oh, but that doesn’t really count. I am your grandmother, I know all my granddaughter’s secrets,” Nashwa said, smiling.
Ravina said nothing and once more extended the bowstring back and released the arrow. The arrow connected with its target, landing next to the other six she had shot previously. Nashwa could tell Ravina was not in the mood for talking, so she decided she would talk instead.
“You know, ever since you were a child you would run off to the forest if you were sad or scared,” Nashwa said.
“I am neither sad nor scared,” Ravina said, flatly as she pulled out the last arrow from her quiver.
“Neither? I see, so being outside in the freezing cold is something you enjoy?” Nashwa asked, teasingly.
“I’m not enjoying it. I’m doing it because I need practice,” Ravina said, dropping the arrow back into the quiver and turning to face Nashwa. “You came here for a purpose, speak your mind, grandmother.”
“My dear, it has been four days. Might I ask when do you plan to speak with the princes again?”
“When I’m ready,” Ravina said, folding her arms.
“Of course. And when will you be ready? I’m sure King Draco will refrain from destroying WolfBlood until you are ready,” Nashwa said.
Ravina scoffed and picked up the arrow again, notching it.
“Are you concerned about the ritual? Are you still a virgin, Ravi?” Nashwa said.
Ravina had been in the middle of releasing the arrow, but at the mention of the word virgin, she botched the release and the arrow landed in the ground in front of the target.
“Grandmother!” Ravina said, looking over at Nashwa in disbelief.
“Well?” Nashwa said, pressing the matter.
“I’m thirty years old, of course I’m not,” Ravina said, frowning at the fallen arrow.
“Then what is the issue?” Nashwa sasked.
“The issue is that I’ve just met these men. I don’t know them and I’m being told to bed them immediately. And since I’m already speaking my mind, I think that damned Oracle is wrong,” Ravina said.
“The Oracle isn’t wrong. You are the key to all this,” Nashwa said.
“How do you know that?” Ravina said.
Nashwa walked over to her granddaughter and pushed a stray lock of Ravina’s hair over her ear. Most people did not know Nashwa was the Queen’s grandmother. Nashwa was a mage, a powerful practitioner of magic. The reason why the relationship was kept a secret was because magic, although greatly respected, was also feared. If the people had known Ravina had magic flowing through her veins, it was unlikely they would have made her Queen of Rakovec.
“I know because I was the one who chose you,” Nashwa said, smiling sadly.
“What?” Ravina asked.
“I knew Queen Salish a long time ago, while she still resided in DragonBane. I knew her mother and often brought your own mother to play with Salish. I watched her grow into a lovely young woman and I was sad the day her father married her off to King Horace,” Nashwa said.
“I didn’t know you knew her. I didn’t even know my mother knew her,” Ravina said.
“As I said, it was a long time ago. I last saw Salish alive when she had given birth to her sons. She had personally requested that I come to WolfBlood. I thought she just wanted to see me, but she told me a secret,” Nashwa said.
“She told you the boys were Marrok’s sons, didn’t she?” Ravina said.
“Yes, she did. But she didn’t need to tell me, because I could feel god-magic emitting from the babies, it was undeniable they weren’t just mortal children.”
“But how do I fit into all this?” Ravina said, unhappily.
“Salish was afraid that Horace would find out the truth and have the boys killed. So I decided to cast a spell upon them, preventing the godhood from reaching its full potential. That way, they could still pass as mortal as they grew,” Nashwa said.
“And your intention was for the spell to be broken at some point…by using me?” Ravina asked, sounding upset.
“I’m sorry, Ravi. I didn’t mean for the entire weight of the spell to rest solely on your shoulders. But I made a promise to Salish that I would ensure her sons’ godhood would be released at the right time. I would make sure they would marry women of magic, to my future granddaughters,” Nashwa said.
“And fate decided that you would have only one granddaughter,” Ravina whispered.
“Yes, and to make matters worse, after you were born, the gods told me of your mother’s future demise. You were so young when she died…and the night of your mother’s death, Marrok came to the Oracle, telling her that you would be his sons one and only consort,” Nashwa said.
“Why didn’t you tell me this before? Why did you make me think that only the Oracle knew all this?”
“Because I felt I had failed you. I was ashamed for a very long time for writing your destiny unintentionally. I tell you this now, so that you understand that those men are bound to you and you should not be afraid of them,” Nashwa said.
“I hate this,” Ravina said, softly.
“I know, but if anyone can fulfill the will of the gods, it is you. Ravina, you’ve been blessed with the ability to unite nations. With you by their side, you can unite all the kingdoms and begin a new age of peace and prosperity.
“Fine, I will go speak with them,” Ravina said, sighing heavily and began packing up her archery equipment.
“Let me handle all this. Just go back and prepare to meet with them,” Nashwa said, shooing Ravina away.
Walking over to her horse, Ravina mounted her steed and spurred forward to the palace. Entering the compound, she took her horse to the stable and made her way back to her bed chamber. She was very displeased by how her grandmother had made her the key to unlocking the princes’ godhood. But she knew it was not done out of malice, so she quickly forgave Nashwa and decided to focus on the task at hand.
Inside her bed chamber, she walked over to the great wooden wardrobe that had been left by her mother. It was of maghoney, dark and golden wooden with cravings of Viking maidens etched in the wood. She opened the doors and peered inside, not having a clue what she should wear. After several moments of deliberation, she gave up in frustration. She made her way back to the hallway and found a passing servant.
“Fetch me Lady Astrid,” Ravina ordered.
Lady Astrid was Ravina’s first cousin on her father’s side. Astrid was particularly talented with fashion and was very good at making Ravina look like a proper Queen. As Ravina waited on her cousin, she kicked off her boots and fell back onto her mattress. She momentarily stared up the ceiling, her eyes growing heavy with sleep. Deciding to close her eyes for only a few minutes, Ravina drifted off into a deep sleep.
“Wake up, Queen’s should not be sleeping at nine in the morning,” Astrid said, shaking her cousin awake.
Ravina groggily awoke.
“Go away,” Ravina said, trying to push Astrid away.
Astrid was a full-blooded Viking. She had bright blonde hair and light blue eyes. Her skin was cream and her lips a cherry red.
“Up, up, up!” Astrid said, grabbing Ravina by the arm and standing her to her feet.
“I don’t want to be Queen today, can you do it for me?” Ravina said, pouting as Astrid guided her over to the wardrobe.
“What’s with you? Have you not been sleeping well?” Astrid asked, ignoring her cousin’s plea.
“I haven’t had a good night's rest since the princes arrived,” Ravina said.
Astrid had opened the wardrobe doors and peeked around the door at Ravina.
“So, you’ve already taken them into your bed?” Astrid said, winking.
“No, that’s not what I meant! I’m a little out of sorts because…well, I don’t know what to do with them,” Ravina said.
“I can give you a list of several things you can do with them,” Astrid replied, cheekily.
“Really? And how would you know if these princes are worth doing those things with?” Ravina asked.
“I saw them the other day being escorted through the palace. Praise be to the gods, those two are delectable morsels of man meat,” Astrid said, laughing.
“Yes, they are handsome, but they are also very difficult,” Ravina said, beginning to remove the braids from her hair.
Astrid, still facing the wardrobe, smiled. She then found the dress she was looking for. It was an elegant dress, the color of buttermilk. It had gold trim and a revealing bodice. Pulling it from the wardrobe, she brought it over to her cousin, who was now seated at her vanity. Astrid laid the dress over a chair nearby and picked up a brush from the vanity. As she began to brush Ravina’s hair, Astrid thought about the princes.
“They have the most tantalizing lips I’ve ever seen on a man,” Astrid said, as she brushed.
Ravina glanced into the mirror, looking up at her cousin’s reflection.
“Yes, I agree,” Ravina said.
“Yes, I agree, my goodness, such a prude,” Astrid said, laughing softly.
“Fine. I like their lips. And I like their eyes, intense but thoughtful, the color of the raging sea. They have impressive physiques, and I do like that they are bold and confident,” Ravina said, nibbling on her lower lip.
“Mmmmm, lips that can cover the skin with hot, wet kisses. Hauntingly deep blue eyes that pierce the soul and the heart, muscular bodies to wrap yourself around as they ravish you in bed,” Astrid said.
The women grew silent for a moment, both lost in thoughts of fantasy, thinking of the magnificent WolfBlood princes. Astrid was the first to stir herself from the daydream.
“So, which do you plan to marry?” Astrid said, finishing smoothing out Ravina’s raven black hair.
Ravina turned around and looked up at her cousin.
“You’re going to laugh,” she said.
“Why would I laugh, either one of them would make an excellent husband,” Astrid said, setting the brush aside.
“I’ve been instructed by the gods themselves to marry both of them. Me, singular, they, plural,” Ravina said.
“I see…Cousin, I know that this has been kept secret. And perhaps you cannot tell me, but will you? I mean, all I know is that you were told about the WolfBlood princes. I am under the assumption that you’d marry a prince and unite their kingdom with our own,” Astrid said.
Ravina stood up from the vanity and began changing out of her green archery uniform. She didn’t see a reason why she couldn’t tell her cousin the whole story. After all, Astrid and her had grown up like sisters.
“You’ve heard the stories that they are the sons of Marrok, haven’t you?” Ravina said, now down to her undergarments.
Astrid nodded, picking up the discarded clothing and tossing it into a hamper.
“Well, the rumors are true. But their powers are dormant and I am the key to releasing their godhood,” Ravina said.
“How will you do that?” Astrid said, picking up the dress and handing it to Ravina.
“I…I have to sleep with them,” Ravina said, slightly embarrassed.
“Oh? So you have a magic cunny then?” Astrid said, laughing.
“Apparently so,” Ravina said, laughing as well.
Ravina didn’t want to get into the whole spell and binding ritual aspect of the story. So she left that part out, because it made her feel controlled and trapped.
“So, your future husbands are half gods. Oh, just think of what they must be like in bed,” Astrid said, then her face lit up even further.
“What?” Ravina asked, turning around so her cousin could secure the dress to her body.
“Just think, dear cousin, of having them both at the same time?” Astrid said, fastening the dress.
A burst of warmth spread through Ravina’s body from thinking of such an event.
“Oh, hush,” Ravian said, blushing.
Astrid laughed, taking Ravina by the shoulder and turning her around.
“There, you look radiant. I’m brilliant, aren’t I?” Astrid said, approving her own work.
Ravina smiled, rolling her eyes at Astrid’s comment. But when she turned to assess herself in the full length mirror, she had to agree.
“Yes, you most certainly are,” Ravina said, happily looking at herself.
The color of the dress, a soft buttermilk texture, provided an excellent contrast to her hair. The black raven locks of her long hair cascaded down her back. It even brought out her deep golden-grown eyes. The fit of the dress accented her curves wonderfully and the bodice held her breasts in a tasteful, but alluring manner.
“And, don’t forget this,” Astrid said, opening a large chest and extracting something within.
She walked over to Ravina, holding a silver crown, encrusted with sapphires. It had been Ravina’s mother’s crown. Ravina lowered her head as Astrid nestled the crown into position.
“Now, you look like a Queen,” Astrid said, smiling.
“Great, now all I have to do is convince two men to sleep with me like a common whore,” Ravina said.
At the same time, both women burst into laughter. Ravina held her stomach and Astrid wiped tears from her eyes.
“They won’t need much convincing, cousin. Just skip your diplomatic song and dance for once, go straight to seduction,” Astrid said, once she settled down.
“My diplomatic song and dance, hmmm?” Ravina said, walking toward the doors.
“Yes, you aren’t organizing a war or changing a law. You are simply trying to make two men crumble to their knees and beg for that magic cunny of yours,” Astrid said, walking beside her cousin as they left the bed chamber.
“Hush, now. Let’s not be heard talking of this,” Ravina said, in a low voice.
Then facing her cousin, she said a bit louder. “Thank you, Lady Astrid, for your assistance.”
“But of course, my Queen,” Astrid said, curtseying.
It was all for show, to project a sense of formality as servants, guards and diplomats walked by in the large hallway. But before leaving each other’s company, the women gave each other secret winks.
