we might actually be one in the same bc ive been tossing around a nesting fic since december that i've finally worked out. im so partial to sense of violence and staking a claim on something, like the idea that you as a goalie just can't find a way in until your brain shuts itself off and you force it. it's such a fun situation for turning the isolation theme on its head and going "yeah you're the only one in the crease. and you're the only one who CAN be in the crease so we're all gonna do whatever weird shit you need from us for a while, bc that's a valuable position and you a valuable person" beyond the emotion of it (AUGH) its such an interesting trope!!!!!! so many possibilities!!!!!!!!

And when they come out of nesting they’re so embarrassed over how violent and nasty they were to their teammates, because holy shit!!! I almost took my teammates head off with my goalie stick!! And all the teammates are like “it’s okay you were nesting we know you didn’t mean it”
