We have the advantage of @fortwaynetrails Being all over the area so it's a matter of getting to one and you will have a good run/walk/bike. 🏃‍♂️ #SpringRun 🏃‍♂️ Today was beautiful 71° and Sunny, so I went to my favorite spot to run on the @fortwaynetrails the Maumee River greenway that connects Fort Wayne and New Haven. If you are ever in Northeast Indiana this pathway is unlike others as it follows the natural curve of the Maumee river for several miles. It is shaded, but not too shaded. Has plenty of rest areas with a beautiful view. Elevation changes that are not overly challenging and several points to diverge on other routes. I orginally set out to do 5 miles but when I got close to New Haven a call came in for the fire department and I was 7/10 of a mile away so I sprinted and reported on foot to my station and after we were called off I resumed my run and headed back. 🏃‍♂️ #VirtualHalfMarathon 🏃‍♂️ My Half Marathon was converted to a virtual race cause of Covid-19 so I decided to make my race close to home and did 12 laps of my HOA which is 1.1 miles This is my 1st virtual race I have run and I will say this...pretty boaring... I understand and appreciate them. If you live in an area were races are few and far between, then it's great. But I enjoy the excitement around a large group of runners and they motivate me to keep running and pushing, which showed in my slower then usual time. Going to keep my head up that like goes back to normal and I can get a few races with crowds in this year. I should have a medal by monday I will post. 🏃‍♂️ #RunStrongFW 🚴‍♀️ Covid-19 is not going to stop my run training. Even thought it was 33° in Northeast Indiana, I got cold weather gear on and Elizabeth wanted to do something. So I got a run in and had awesome Daddy/Daughter time. They may have canceled my races and thrown my entire 2020 race plans into a total mess, but I'm going to keep training, cause that's what you do when you want to achieve a goal.
