never not funny to me that darkiplier lore is essencially just "i have to avenge all of my dead friends by making sure my asshole dead friend suffers for eternity, but i'm also doing side quests."
meanwhile warfstache lore is like "my friend, who's wife i had an affair with, rigged a game of russian roulette, forcing me into killing him. the events that followed led to me killing two of my other friends, ultimately driving me insane from guilt, and leading me to believe none of it actually happened and it was all just a game. i then proceeded to invent a new name and identity for myself, both hyper-aware of but also deeply indifferent about everything going on in this incredibly complicated multiverse of events. anyways,"

Ok we all know Abe from wkn and wmlw. I feel so bad for him like all I wanna do is just comfort him. He’s literally just a sweetie like everyone who becomes his partner dies… and you have to imagine that has to hurt. Because In Jim news you see him crying holding his wallet and kissing the photos. Like this poor man all he wants is a partner not to die!

Pick Your Poison - [WKM]
Concept: my brain.
“Okay, so Pick Your Poison then.” Grinned Mark, playfully, taking a sip of his wine.
“I still don’t get this game.” Scoffed Abe, holding his whisky.
“You’ve gotta name.. gotta name someone who’s your weak point.” Slurred Wilford, with a chuckle, drinking from an empty martini glass.
“I’m glad we cut him off.” Chuckled the District Attorney, who just went by District nowadays.
“No kidding.” Mused Mark.
The four sat on the old set of ‘A Date With Markiplier’. It had been a long few centuries of being stuck in their little story world together. The place had its ups and downs. That was rather apparent when you noticed Mark’s pitch black eyes, Abe stuck in a constant noir filter, Wilford’s alcohol addiction and general lack of sanity and finally District's pale skin. They all had their own mental and physical scars too but that was for another time.
“Like, my Poison has a flare about them.” Began Mark.
“Uh, District?” Guessed Abe.
“Nope.” Snorted Mark.
“..Benjamin?”
“Oh god no!”
“It’s meeeeee!” Grinned Wilford, having slowly slid out of his chair and now had his head resting on Mark’s lap.
“Indeed. Well done, that’s one point to you Wil.” Mused Mark, fondly, running a hand through his hair.
“Ah. I see.” Nodded Abe, flushing slightly. He was one of two people in the room who’s ‘Poison’ was going on a wild goose chase, chasing the Entity’s Crystal Manifestation of a fake being named the Actor. Everyone in the room missed the twins in one way or another. Not to mention with Celine’s knowledge the group may be able to make this void of afterlife safe.
“Can you all try and guess my poison?” Began District.
“Damien.”
“Damien.”
“It’s Damien.”
They flushed slightly, with a pout.
“You don’t have to be so mean about it-.”
“Not mean, you’re both just painfully obvious.” Teased Mark, with a chuckle.
“I do hope they both figure it out soon.” Commented Abe.
The group fell silent.
“Yeah.. Me too.” Agreed Wilford, quietly.
“The recreations of them just aren’t…” Nodded Mark.
“The same.” Finished District, with a sigh.
They all wanted the Manor Gang back together again.

Watched the first three episodes of The Edge of Sleep tonight!!
So far so good, as far as adaptations go. The show itself is amazing so far! More mixed feelings with respect to it being an adaptation, though. So far it's remaining faithful to the overarching plot, though it has cut some scenes I enjoyed, and I am getting worried they'll cut the moobles thing, since they already said the high school incident was something different, that he was already with Katie when it happened, and there's that recurring flashback replacing the specific part about the scar. Now that i think about it yeah they absolutely cut that didn't they. It was referenced already but only one shot. (Again, i only finished episode 3)
Honestly kinda disappointed they cut the serial killer guy entirely. Like i hated him but that whole sequence was INTERESTING.
Funnily enough, one of my roommates i was watching it with had pulled an all nighter and said he was going to bed after this episode during episode three, and when the credits started i paused and realized he had fallen asleep. I said aloud "did [name] fall asleep?" to the other person i was watching with and he didn't react until i started laughing kinda loudly, bolted upright, and when the other person asked if he fell asleep he said "No. [Pause] i might have fallen asleep. Did i really fall asleep?" Then when i asked what the last thing he remembered happening was (so i knew how far to backtrack tomorrow) he said "uh... bedtime now goodnight" lmfao
Anyway, i would like to clarify IT IS A GOOD SHOW!!! It's because it's a good show that I'm not talking about it being a good show, because its merits as its own show, especially only being halfway through it, are less interesting to ramble about than my thoughts about the differences to the podcast and obviously i'm biased towards the original podcast. Oh I did like the bit where they went to the radio station though! That was cool!

@ceoegos - Continued from here

Politics. It was a strange thing to decide to make your vocation. Many politicians in the city had ulterior motives. Some wanted to boost the profits of businesses, others want to give themselves a cushy retirement fund. Those in power often forgot about those who voted them.
Damien was certainly the black sheep of the Brooks family. His position in society made him keenly aware of the gap between him and many others, and the unfairness that brought with it. How was 'luck' a factor to simply being in possession of more money? How was he more deserving of opportunities?
No. He needed to focus on the matter at hand before the injustices began troubling him again.
"You really think so?" A silly question, in a way. He knew Mark wouldn't lie about such a thing. Being friends for as long as they had meant that honesty was not merely something that was sugarcoated to garner respect.
"It's like I learned in university: life is mine to choose, and it shouldn't be in the hands of anyone else... But why should not be extended? Why can't it be ours to choose, as a society?" Life is ours to choose... Now that had a nice ring to it. Mark's hand on his shoulder was almost further support of this decision, making him realise that perhaps the goal wasn't as ambitious as he feared. However, the reality quickly sank back in.
"You need to promise not to tell anyone. The last I need is my parents hearing about this. If they think there's going to be a way for them to 'be in charge', they're going to push me into this as their little puppet. I want to do this in my own time, when I am ready."

talk more about the celine part of darkiplier.
because yes, obviously he's an emo soft boy who constantly keeps up a calm, collected appearence. but he's also an occult enthusiast. girlboss. mom friend. sitting in a fancy restaurant with a glass of wine, judging other people. divorced. problematic but slaying.

Hello! I was wondering what you're top MCU characters are and why?*coughgactormarkcough* Do you have a favorite series? I hope you're doing well! :DD
First off, thank you for the well wishes. I'm doing pretty good, I hope you are as well :3. Second, these are great questions and I'm very happy to answer them.
In terms of my top characters and why, here’s my top 5 (in no specific order)
Actor Mark - Bastard (complimentary). He’s so fun to analyze and think about and make headcanons for. I love how he toes the line between sympathetic and absolutely fucking insane. Like I can totally understand how he ended up spiraling in the wake of... well, everything, and also that the entity of the manor definitely took advantage of his state, but it’s also very fun that he is also a petty bitch who leaves a trail of destruction in his wake. He’s very special to Me
Yancy - I feel like this is kind of obvious, judging on how eager I’ve been to answer all of the Yancy asks, but I love this funky lil prison boy so goddamn much. He’s so fucking dramatic and I adore it. I mean, like, he killed his dad for questioning his fake accent, and there’s an ending where he dance-battles Y/N to death. Man is iconic. Also I’m very gay for him and I want to give him a kiss
Wilford Warfstache - Again, kind of obvious given my blog theme right now, but GOD I love Wilford so much. I just wanna grab him by the neck and dangle him around like a wet noodle. I have so many thoughts about this feral man dear fucking god. His lore is cool as hell too, which is a bonus, and he’s cute!!! My bi boyfriend. My silly rabbit. And my love for Wilford isn’t even an “I can fix him” type of thing. I could make him worse <3
Celine - This list is mainly of characters who came from WKM?/were established there, but I can’t get over Celine. She’s probably one of the most powerful characters in the entire MarkCU, hence why the Entity wanted to yoink her body, but she is also so pretty and cool!! She also isn’t absolutely insane for the most part and seems to be one of few rational people involved in WKM?. Bonus points for that
Head Engineer Mark - Listen. There is so much I can say about this Mark variant. He’s the perfect blend of sweet himbo and cocky bastard, and, though he causes problems, he does not cause them on purpose like Actor does. He has a genuine love and passion for space and his crew, and most notably the Captain, and all of his decisions are made with good intentions; the road to hell is paved with those, after all. The scene of him in the warp core near the end of ISWM2 still has a hold on me almost a year after I first saw it. He may be misguided, but he’s doing his absolute best and I love him so much.
Ironically, when it comes to series, my favorite isn’t WKM? - it’s ISWM. Not only is it incredibly made, every actor’s performance is incredible, especially Mark’s with his many roles. The emotional range of Head Engineer Mark’s character in particular is so amazing to me, and I think about all of the skill and passion that went into that artwork regularly. Plus, it ended up pushing the MarkCU back into special interest territory for me!  This isn’t to say that the others are bad or less than, but I adore ISWM with all my heart. It deserved that Emmy smh.
Once again, thank you for the question, and I’m sorry it took so long to get out a response. I love just about every MarkCU character in a variety of ways, but these five are all so special to me.

Necklace [WKM]
Concept: @oswinunknown no payment, my ass. >:D enjoyyy!
Oswin felt safe in the mirror, he knew Celine and Damien had to leave him in their hopes of finding Mark. He didn't blame them.
The pair did what they had to do.
Damien promised he'd be back for him when he could.
And Oz believed him.
It had been a full day on being in the mirror, he'd notice their body change into a more monotoned and dark colour, to match the mirror. The only colour left on them was a dark green glow that radiates from his eyes and body. He didn't mind green, it fit well with the atmosphere.
Before Damien had left him their, he'd given him a necklace. It had a sun charm, a star and a rose charm on it. Damien had his own which held a moon charm, a star and a rose charm.
He fiddled with it fondly as they watched the sunset from the mirror. If only he could see the stars too. That would help with the slowly forming loneliness he felt in their gut.
"You don't have to worry about being lonely Oz." Called out a familiar voice.
Oswin looked around the void and didn't see anything.
"Mark! Show yourself you b*tch! You can't hurt me here!" Shouted Oz.
He then jumped as they heard the noise of shattering glass. Oswin turned around and saw the view of the mirror obstructed by what looked to be a large crack.
"Oh crap." Muttered Oswin, looking around trying to figure out where Mark was coming from.
He then stilled as he felt a cold hand on their shoulder.
"I've got a few stories I want you to be apart of. I needed a co-star anyways." Grinned Mark.
"You must be insane to think I'd ever help you! After what you did to everyone! What you did to me!" Snarled Oz, walking away from Mark.
"Heh. This isn't a choice darling." Replied Mark, waving his hand. Oswin felt dark ropes tie him from moving.
"Do not. Call me darling, you psychopath." Muttered Oswin.
"Oh hush, I've got a story to write."
Oswin then found themselves going faint.
The first story that Oz woke up in he found themselves walking into a restaurant. He was dressed nicely, as if he where going on a date. The only thing that remained the same about their original clothing was the necklace that Damien had given him.
He was shown to a table, and Mark was sat opposite him. He was glaring at the necklace but then seemed to snap out of his trance.
"Hey! I'm so glad you could make it. Let's get started?" Smiled Mark.
Oswin just sat and glared at him as food was passed around in-front of him. Mark did not visible react to his glare.
A chef then came out from the back, and slammed a knife onto the table.
"Alright, who's paying?" Grinned the chef.
Mark looked up to Oz hopefully, with a nervous grin. He then mouthed the words, 'I forgot my wallet.'
Pay [ ]
Don't Pay [•]
Oswin couldn't help but grin as Mark was dragged off by the chef. Mark called out to him pathetically, begging for help or assistance.
gö hømé? [ ]
Help Mark [/]
He felt themselves stand up and head out to the back. The chef dragged him into the back with Mark.
"Listen! I am so sorry about this. I'll figure something out." Muttered Mark, who began looking around the car for something to help.
Oswin sighed to themselves as the car began to move. They heard Mark make a noise of exclamation. He looked and saw him holding what appeared to be a mix between a bat and a crowbar.
Attack? [•]
Don't Attack? [ ]
He nodded at Mark, who gave him a grin and nod in reply. God, he hoped this psycho chef would crash the car and kill them right here and now. This was insufferable.
The car did end up crashing, but unfortunately he was still alive. Mark came and sat down besides him.
"You alright? God, I'm sorry this is happening. This was supposed to be a normal date! But what can you do?" Muttered Mark, helping Oswin up.
The pair began to walk through this desolate field. They then eventually came across a road and Mark then pointed out something shiny.
Shiny? [ ]
Road? [•]
"You make the best choices!" Smiled Mark, who began skipping along the road. Right, because this is how all normal dates go.
"Now, I know everything's gotten a bit away from us, but I've got a picnic basket!" Said Mark, pulling out a basket from seemingly no where. Wonderful.
The pair sat down on a picnic blanket, which seemingly appeared out of no where also.
"Right! What sandwich would you like?" Asked Mark.
Tuna [•]
PBJ [ ]
Oswin took the tuna fish and watched as everything around them froze. He looked around in confusion. A narrator voice then kicked in.
He watched as the narrator explained a future between the pair of them, all based around tuna and peace.
It sounded awful.
"Enjoy your first ending?" Asked Mark.
Oswin looked around and found himself in a black void. Mark was stood their and holding a book.
"First ending?" Said Oz.
"Oh! Right. I've got many ideas for many stories, your going to live through as many as possible. I need to know what people think about them. I hope you enjoy."
"MARK!"
Oswin was put through many stories and adventures by Mark. He grew miserable and angry. But with that anger came power and after a long few centuries, he escaped from Mark and set off to find Damien and Celine. He worried for what they thought had happened to him.
He hadn't been in the mirror for ages.
We'll focus on the day when he did find them. Damien had just began to concluded a meeting between the egos and other entities that roamed the house.
They then felt a familiar energy surge from a familiar necklace on his neck.
"Are you alright their boss?" Asked Illnois.
"You look pained Dark." Said Doctor.
"Have you been overworking again?" Frowned Celine, who materialised at the table.
"I apologise. I've just felt a new energy surge." Explained Dark, who began twiddling with his necklace.
"Could it be to do with your fancy dance necklace?" Smiled Wilford.
"Possibly?" Groaned Dark.
It then clicked in his head. The owner of the second necklace! But it couldn't be...?
"Celine." Muttered Dark, standing up from the table.
"What's wrong Dames?" Said Celine.
Perfect silence stilled along the table, Dark and Wilford where never called by their real names unless something was up.
They watched as Dark got up and left the meeting room, Celine and Wilford walked after him.
The confused egos looked between themselves and then followed suit.
Oswin looked around the magical building he'd come across. A large manor with entities in its walls. He froze as he heard footsteps approach the room he was in.
Dark walked into the lobby and froze as he spotted him. Oz.
"Oswin." Smiled Damien, tears forming in his eyes.
"Damien." Grinned Oz, a tear rolling down his cheek.
The pair walked towards each other and embraced, holding onto one another as tightly as the could.
Celine rounded the corner with Wilford and the other egos in hot pursuit. She then found Damien and Oz holding onto each other tightly and whispering to one another.
"Who's that?" Said Yan.
"That. Is the owner of the second necklace." Smiled Celine.
"That's who Dark hasn't seen in centuries!" Said Yancy.
"Do you think they like squirrels?" Said King.
"Are they nice?" Frowned Eric.
"Oz's like Dark Eric. Can look scary but sweet as." Said Wilford.
"Will he be staying with us?" Said Google.
"If you look to the pair, I think that'll answer your question." Replied Bing.
Everyone looked back to the couple, who's necklaces had gotten tangled up with one another. The pair where laughing whilst they tried to get them undone.
"Oh yeah. I ship it." Grinned Yan.
"We have for years." Said Abe, who materialised next to the group.
"We'll make badges this time." Said Celine.
Wilford then began to clap and bounce up and down, everyone followed his gaze.
"It's been so long. What happened to you?" Frowned Damien.
"Mark. He broke my mirror. I was a pawn in his story for centuries. Then, a few decades ago I escaped and I've been looking for you all ever since." Explained Oswin.
"Oh Oz. I'm so sorry that happened."
"Don't worry too much. You couldn't have known."
"Is their some way I can make it up to you then? Else I'll just be stuck feeling bad."
"Hm. Can I ask you out?"
"Pardon?"
"Can I ask you out? That seems like a pretty suitable repayment."
"Only if I can kiss you."
"You may."
The pair kissed and continued to hold onto each other. They heard the others in the room grow quiet and Wilford's clapping.
"Oh mind your own business you creeps!" Smiled Damien, looking at the group. Oz pulled his face back towards him and kissed him again.
"It's probably best we wait for an interview later." Said Jim.
"Great idea! Let's give them space." Replied Celine, ushering everyone out of the room.
The egos and ghosts left the room, leaving the pair to themselves.
"Finally alone now." Smiled Oswin.
"Let us enjoy it." Replied Damien.
The pair disappeared in a puff of black smoke.

Umineko and WKM parallels
Both are initially presented as murder mysteries that happen in a mansion during a gathering of people who’ve known each other a long time but haven’t seen each other recently.
In Umineko, the supernatural stuff is just a covering for the reality of what happened. In WKM, the reality is just a covering for the supernatural stuff that’s happening.
Despite both being initially presented as whodunnits, the “who?” isn’t actually the important question. The real question is “why?”
The “why?’ has to do with a character whose plan of what would happen went way off the rails causing multiple people to die. This character is motivated by heartbreak and has a strong connection to whatever “supernatural” stuff is happening. They also have romantic feelings for the protagonist (despite mainly talking about wkm I’m also counting the With Markipliers in this). They also have multiple “selves”.
In Umineko, the supernatural is used as a scapegoat so you don’t have to blame anyone close to you. In WKM, everybody blames each other when the actual cause of what happened is the supernatural.
In both, guns are the murder weapon.
In both, the protagonist is the nicest person in the room and the least involved in the drams. But in Umineko, the perspective switches to others and what is presented to you is unreliable at best and a complete lie at worst. In wkm, there is only ever one pov character and their pov is entirely accurate.
In Umineko, the events of what happened are a catbox and nobody really knows what happened. In wkm, what happened is the only concrete thing in the timeline.
In Umineko, everyone is dead all along. In wkm, nobody can truly die.
In both, a lot of problems would be solved if everyone went to therapy.
