16. Your favorite place to write

Since i have serious concentration issues due to health conditions i had in the past and i still carry to this day, i always have to be completely alone and in silence. So libraries, cafes, trains, parks etc. are a huge no! I love to write in my new room i recently moved into (it also has such a nice view!), in my childhood room specifically on my bed, and in my garden back at home! Bonus points if my puppy Angelina is next to me, she brings me so much comfort💗

23. Pick three words that describe your writing

Hmmm…I’d say realistic, straightforward, sharp. Ever since reading Verga and Zola, i fell in love with realism and naturalism, and all the narration techniques that come with them (regression, straniamento, eclipse etc.). Though i love to add a bit of internal monologue to it and sometimes a bit of elaborated sentimental thinking. At the same time i also love to incorporate some thin, unhinged humor “the betrothed”-style. I had to pick only three words, but they aren’t enough!

25. Besides writing, what are your other hobbies?

First of all shopping! I would be dead if it wasn’t for some good retail therapy to cheer me up. I love shopping for makeup and doing makeup (Sephora my beloved), clothes (trying them on in the dressing room and creating outfits you already know you’ll wear), shoes, bags, books, plushies etc. my most favorite thing is shopping designer tho, I do recognize i am a bit materialistic, but i can’t help the lovely feeling of bringing home new Prada shoes, new Saint Laurent bags, new Gucci clothes…please don’t hate me😭

Also i love traveling sosososo much! I had to let that go for a couple of years again due to health conditions, but i am so ready to start again! My favorite place to travel to is london, the city of my dreams, i always go there twice a year, same with Paris but I don’t like it as much. Some of my other fav trips are Copenhagen, Oman and the US.

Lastly, hanging out with my friends. I am that type of person that hates being alone most of the time, so I’m always in for hangouts and sleepovers. Now me and my friends all live in the same city for uni so it’s a never ending hangout!!!!

She comes from wealth naturally and especially being the only girl I know sis was spoilt and obvi Michael would spend a bag on her but I really wonder like would she have been a high end Chanel, Prada, LV and Gucci girl in the 50s

You're definitely right about Victoria living her cottagecore life in Sicily. 😂❤️ Lots of cute and light summer dresses for the Sicilian heat at knee length and longer in bright colours or floral and polka dot patterns, especially shirtwaist dresses.

Her fabrics of choice are velvet, satin, and silk. She loves matching her colours with the seasons, so we'd see Victoria wearing brighter/vibrant coloured clothing in the spring/summer especially.

If Victoria's at the courthouse, she's only in business casual consisting of pencil skirts, blouses (lace, chiffon, etc) blazer jackets and so forth if she's in the actual courtroom for trial, preliminary, etc. In her own office doing work but not prosecuting in a courtroom, we know Miss Victoria has an amazing taste in fashion and is always dressing her best. 😌 Victoria wouldn't wear gloves at work or a casual dress like a shirtwaist dress, but definitely more towards sheath dresses. You won't see her wearing patterns at work, unless she's wearing a banker stripe pencil skirt.

We're talking circle/swing dresses (a favourite), jumper dresses, sheath dresses, hand-held purses (leather, sequin, etc), wrist length satin/silk or velvet gloves (and elbow length for special occasions). Victoria's preference for nights out are cocktail dresses (especially sleeveless ones) and she loves a draped or princess neckline.

Faux mink coats and faux mink stoles draped over Victoria's shoulders, and we know she's a diamonds over pearls kind of girl so Miss Victoria's neck, arms and earlobes are dripped out. 😂 She loves to accessorize! Of course when the outfit matches, Victoria will also wear a hat, but her preference is to have a silk scarf tied through her hair or a flower for a cute pin up look.

As for her shoes of choice, Victoria loves her simple flats, Mary-Janes, but is a heels kind of girl. Kitten heels to tall heels, stilettos, pumps, all of that. She's very used to wearing heels.

I remember mentioning in the very early chapters of Moth to Flame that I believe Victoria's engagement dress (a gorgeous, black evening gown) was designed by Gucci. 😍 So yes, she's definitely high end for Italian designer and I could see her adoring and shopping for French designer items too. ❤️ She would definitely not hesitate to drop coin for a fit.

I was originally going to go with photography, especially since it has such a rich history, and very likely the SEEDS ships would have as much about that history as possible, including the various cameras and gear, or the schematics of these cameras and other picture and video equipment, but I'm going with fashion instead.

I'm always amused at how, in the beginning, Meryl would always gripe about her work and how she was hoping to get something nice as compensation—like a Gucci or Prada bag, because even on a hostile alien planet, <insert "you can't fight crime if you ain't cute" meme here.>

She dresses pretty feminine compared to Milly's state of dress but then that shifts when things start really going sideways further in TriMax, but she's always loved the history of fashion and she'd be the sort to look through fashion-centric magazines and books, probably would have, at one point, cut out images on things she liked and made some kind of vision board—because she'd totally make a vision board of her goals and what she wanted. And what would have started out as something she'd enjoy perusing as a pass-time became her delving further into Earth's history on fashion around the world, across time and different cultures, how trends came and went, what materials were most popular, etc.

Despite her shift in careers at the end of TriMax into journalism, she'd talk someone's ear off about fashion and what her favourite eras would be, if given the chance to wear clothing from those decades.

Among her favourites would be the late 70s and the early to mid 90s. Especially, with the latter, the tights and short dresses and knee-high boots. And with the bob/pixie cut she likes to sport would go well with the 90s look.

This would have been while working for the Bernardelli Insurance Agency, and said present was gifted by a colleague that she didn't really speak to all that much aside from cordial office chatter.

Their gift to Meryl had been a picture frame—which was rather nice—but the comment they had made didn't sit well with her which was regarding her family, or the lack of family photos on her desk. Whereas with Milly, the entire office could see those photographs pinned to and around Milly's desk like some tapestry, and Meryl didn't like how she was being compared to by this colleague for not having photographs of anyone on her desk as all her other colleagues had.

In very Meryl fashion, she accepted his gift with a tight smile and when she knew his back was turned, flipped him double birds and stuck out her tongue.

She had then placed the empty frame in the drawer of her desk and it was never seen again as those offices don't exist anymore. That frame was probably ground to dust, along with everything else in the area. Oops...

Fashion brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Dior, etc are popular with fashion buffs. To buy and own clothes, shoes, belts, and bags from these houses is a dream for the fashion enthusiast. However, not everyone can afford them.

well see THAT's the thing that gets me, the overpriced, I am all for over the top and kitsch and camp and hell, ugly, but like..... you can do that in a thrift store!!! you don't need to pay stupid prices for meaningless logos!!!! you can look like you got dressed in the dark for pennies!!!!!

Okay the thing is. Overpriced clothes are very very much not the main problem of the fashion industry, underpriced clothes are. No one is depending on these clothes, no one who wants them for their prestige is buying an ugly Gucci sweater, they're buying a bag or whatever.

Ideally, and I say IDEALLY because I have no idea if this is the case, they might well all be produced in a SHEIN sweatshop for all I know, clothes in this price range are made by artists, they're meant to be pieces of art and mastery of craftsmanship. In a clothing industry that is livable and ethical for all the craftspeople involved, where their skills and labour is valued appropriately, clothes would cost a lot closer to a Gucci sweater than what is considered a normal price now and that would be better and cheaper for everyone (Vimes boots theory etc)

And for the people who could get them at a thrift store, they've already served their purpose. They don't just exist to be bought, but also to be looked at, to drive what we imagine clothes can do forward, to kickstart your imagination. If you hate them they're serving their purpose! An artist made these! Probably thinking exactly "oh this is going to make people so mad hehehe". That's what high fashion is for. You will be able to get similar pieces for much cheaper as more affordable manufacturers adapt the designs. You can dupe these outfits from stuff you find at the thrift store. You SHOULD. That is actually the point.

I walked out the school and I seen other people gathered around because of something. I walked through the crowd and seen a nice looking car. “Is there a Kang Y/n?” The guy said who was by the car. I raised my hand. “Me..” I mumbled walking forward.

He smiled at me. “Sign here.” He said. I did so and gave him back the clipboard. He gave me the car keys. “Congratulations, here is your new car.” He said. I gasped and took them. “What?! Oh my god!” I exclaimed. I opened the car and hopped in. “Wow! Oh my gosh!!!” I exclaimed happily. I cranked the car up and heard the engine roar.

I put the car in drive and began and drive off. I smiled and laughed. I made it to the red light and screamed out in happiness. “He really got my car.” I said to myself. I got a text from him. It was an address and I raised my eyebrow. I put it in my GPS and began to drive.

I arrived there at the apartment complex that looked very expensive. I widened my eyes and texted him to let him know that I was here. He texted back and told me to get out the car. I did so and seen him approaching me. I instantly smiled and began to run to him. “Thank you so much! I can’t believe you did this! I thought you were joking!” I said. He laughed and kissed my forehead.

He took my hand and led me inside the apartment complex. “I’m gonna show you your new apartment, Baby.” He said. I nodded and followed. He hit the fourth floor in the elevator and we waited. I was bouncing around in excitement. He smiled down at me and the elevator opened.

He led me down the nice looking halls and we finally made it to my door. He handed over the key to me. I gasped and took it. I unlocked the door and opened it to a beautiful already-furnished apartment. I gasped and squealed. “JOHNNY OH MY GOODNESS!” I yelled as I ran inside.

I looked out the huge window and seen the city’s buildings. He came up behind me and hugged me. “You like it?” He asked. “I love it!” I said. I jumped up and gave him a kiss on the lips. He smiled. “I’m glad you do.” He replied. I took his hand and looked around the rest of the apartment. It had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a walk in closet for me to hang all of my clothes.

I walked into the master bedroom and seen a queen sized bed. I then seen bags of clothes from all types of clothing stores: Gucci, Prada, PINK, Victoria’s Secret, and many others. “Johnny...this stuff is expen-” He raised an eyebrow at me. I sighed and smiled. “Thank you for this Johnny..I really needed it.” I said.

He smiled and kissed my forehead. “You’re welcome.” He said. I smiled and then I gasped. “Oh my god...what about Lisa? What if she finds out that I have all of this and-” He shut me off with a kiss. “You worry too much.” He said. I sighed. “I know..I’ll think of something to say.” I said. He nodded. “Okay.” He said. I sat my bag down and looked around the bedroom with a huge smile.

“Okay Baby, I have to get going because I have to work okay?” He said looking at his watch. I turned around. “You want to join me for dinner tonight?” I asked. He smiled. “Sure, that’ll be fine.” He said. I smiled back and kissed him on his lips. “Okay, See you tonight..” I said. “See you tonight.” He replied back. He left and I was left alone in my apartment. “Yes!” I cheered.

I walked out of my apartment and seen Lisa approaching. “Y/n?” She called. She gasped and ran to me. “Y/n!” She said giving me a big hug. I giggled. “Hey Lis.” I said hugging her back. “You live here now?” She asked. “Yep, my parents pulled through and helped me out.” I lied. “Oh! Okay then! Hey I’m gonna be going back home tonight. I have get some things.” She said. “Okay!” I said back. “After I’m done, I’m gonna come back over to your place and we can hang out!” She said. “I’d like that.” I said.

“Wait- what are you doing here?” I asked. “I had to return this guy’s boxers because he left them in my car.” She said holding them up. “Ew. Okay then. I’m gonna go to the store and I’ll get back to you later okay?” I said. She nodded and walked down the hall. I breathed out and continued to go out the door.

I hopped in my car and began to drive off to the closest boutique. I texted Johnny.

“Johnny? Can I ask for at least $200?”

Notification: Daddy💕 sent $2,000 to your bank account

no shade, because I have the same anxiety about buying a counterfeit. however, you do realize that prada etc all make their products in the same sweatshops that the counterfeits do, so ultimately, what is the point? why throw your money away on the designer item when you're just paying for the name and not much else?

This is a fair point! I know some loyal customers for big names have lamented the fact that prices have gone up while the quality has gone down, so it’s clear that you’re mostly paying for the name stamped on the bag these days.

I know you didn’t ask for this, but I’m using this space to expand on the issues in case anyone else wanted to look into things more.

The fashion industry overall has some major ethical/sustainability issues. Prada and Kering Group (who oversee Saint Laurents, Gucci, Balenciaga, etc.) have awful track records of forced labor, just like those who produce counterfeit products. In regards to the counterfeit market, there’s the claim that selling fakes help fund terrorism - the biggest link being between the Charlie Hebdo attack and counterfeit shoes. There are a couple of videos (1 & 2) that delve into what buying counterfeit items can be funding.

As an aside, I know there’s also been a shift in consumers who want to buy consciously. So these are just a couple of tools to use to source some good brands.

Good on You has an app that will tell you if a brand has a good ethical track record. And if a brand doesn’t have a good rating, the app tells you what problems are.

The Good Trade has some great shopping guides from clothing to jewelry to support sustainable brands.

I would like to throw my hot coals in with the whole discussion from several days age on how BTS members display their wealth in their luxury goods consumption with some observations I have made on Korean Consumer habits over the past few years but this is probably going to get away from me so feel free to ignore if you wish.

I felt this was a bit long for the comments.

There's probably some discrepancy on how we as westerners (sorry for the generalisation but this is for ease of perspective and lived experience especially when one is european like me) view open displays of wealth through luxury items.

I know in Germany and also England it is quite frowned upon, especially if you're from old money, to openly display your wealth.

In Korea and countries such as China and Japan you will see a lot more casual displays of luxury items such as a LV bag across the different income brackets.

This is in part due to Brands being a big part of status and thus even people who can't really afford them feel the need to keep up.

(So once again it's late stage capitalism at it's finest and how newly minted rich consumers behave within it)

You see it a lot within Asia in particular China, Japan and especially Korea, last of which we must remember is actually really young country in the form that it is now, these countries have seen unprecedented economic growth in the last several decades including a whole new class of nouveau riche with exceptional buying power.

So much so that luxury brands such as LV, Prada, Gucci etc. are pivoting to the Asian market there's an estimate that up to 28% of global luxury items will be bought in the Asia-Pacific region by 2025. And of course the rise of their own luxury brands for the local market.

We've seen this kind of economic behaviour before, especially during the industrialisation of the 19th century and the economic high of the 1900s, before the crash, in the west.

Anyway I digress, sorry about that.

Either way income inequality between the very poor and very rich are at some of it's worst in Korea and people don't talk about their wealth but demonstrate it and as a result everyone who wants to bolster their outward image buys luxury goods, it's become somewhat of a class war in materialism.

I've found that most of the Korean exchange students I've had at my uni all seem to have at least one item of a luxury brand with them, most often clothes, bags or accessories. (bearing in mind that exchange students from outside the EU often have fairly well off parents, though it is not always the case...) And when I've asked in my overbearing rude ways why that is the most common answer I got was that it was 'quite normal', while even the well off students on my course were quite baffled.

So BTS being in an Industry where for Idol groups fans would often purchase brand label clothes for their idols, especially at the beginning when they are starting out in their debut years so they have something 'of status' to wear is regardless of their previous music production like 'Spine Breaker' for example, with a focus on these topics, quite insidious in the first place.

I hold the opinion that no matter what kind of image or something we project onto BTS, they are, as we are, a product of their cultural and social environment including their consumer habits.

Including the good and bad sides of which.

We, after all, should not forget that Korean society is all about conformity due to their strict hierarchical and homogenous social structure.

They are, for better or worse, new economic climbers and thus part of the high-income society, with its own rules fitting the social order.

It is of course a bit ironic that the purchase of luxury goods in simultaneously a way to fit in, but also to stand out in this model.

It's a bit of an infinite loop of doom since you participate in an existing social/societal order and materialism is so omnipresent. I'm not sure it's up to people like BTS who have very public wealth, since they are celebrities, to behave much different from the invisible multi millionaires and billionaires that no-one knows about.

They could, of course, but since they are so public facing, in theory, any displays they make would be a somewhat political statement.

And in my experience celebrities seldom put their money where their mouth is, they'd rather write a quick tweet about it and ignore the problem like everyone one else is.

We know how BTS have been very weak on the front of 'controversial statements' in a long while by now as well.

But their donation to the #BlackLivesMatter movement is irrefutably a statement, but also a huge question of them wanting to because they are taking a stand vs. fulfilling expectations.

It's always going to be, in some way, a matter of publicity and what their brand allows when your wealth is so public facing.

But, I guess, that is again not really related to the whole 'all we own are luxury brand items now' topic.

Suppose that on the other hand, so long as they are spending money it at least goes back into the economy and they are not just sitting on it all.

Well that was a weak conclusion.

I am so sorry, this has been a very unfiltered word vomit, feel free to disagree with me and all that. I'd be interested to hear some opinions if you can be bothered to read all this.

Thank you anon for this ask and I appreciate taking the time to explain everything. I don't really have much to add because I agree with you, as I was already aware of some of the things you said and it's important to take into consideration the history of political and economic development that is happening right now in East Asia. As you said, this is a case of nouveau riche which obviously leads to the need to show off the type of assets one can afford. In this context, BTS partnering with Louis Vuitton makes perfect sense, as it's a luxury brand and owning LV pieces can be used to show a wealth status. I'm not sure how much of what you said here is known for a mainstream Western audience, as depictions and understandings of some Asian countries are still done through an orientalist/western filter. But there are exceptions, like the case of Crazy Rich Asians, a film that had box office success which managed to capture exactly what you have described in your ask. It's not much, but it was distributed for a mainstream audience.

'' If there is one thing that should stick in our minds in this conversation is this part. The consumer habits cannot be separated from their upbringing and the society in which they live in. But I think that we can also look at an individual level because each has their own way of showing/not showing their wealth status and what I mean by showing in this context, is to their audience. Some can have public displays of their wealth by buying houses and cars and we get around finding about it through media outlets, while other ways are to post photos of some of their luxury items on social media. I'm not saying this to judge any of them because I understand where it's coming from.

Pairing: Rich Kid! Tom Holland x Reader

Summary: When Y/N gets a scholarship to attend Collegialiter Schola Currere Cucurri, a prestigious boarding school in England. She’s very studious and organizes, everything needs to be a certain way for her to be happy. Tom is the resident fuckboy at school and,  with his daddy being the richest man on earth, he practically owns the school. What happens when Tom falls completely in love with Y/N, but she doesn’t want to be with him because of his reputation.

Y/N stands in front of the massive brick building with beautifully and neatly done cobblestone tiles on the roof. From where she stands, Y/N could see that two big towers and two smaller ones are attached to the main building of the school. To her left, a soccer field and to her right, a rugby field with an outdoor running track. Behind the soccer field, she could see a big rectangle building that, from what she read about the school, must be the school’s gymnasium. Y/N couldn’t believe that she is actually here in front of Collegialiter Schola Currer Cucurri which is Latin for something she couldn’t remember anymore. It’s the best school in the world, the only people that could attend the school are the elite, rich and famous, but once every year, the school awards a scholarship that covers everything (laundry, meal plane, books, uniform, etc) to one lucky student going into their 11th school year. The chosen student has to be the best and brightest out of all the applicants and this year, it just so happened to be Y/N L/N. She has been working her whole life for this and now her dreams for a better future are finally coming true. Her home life in Toronto wasn’t the best in terms of education. She didn’t learn enough at the public school she went to, so when she saw the opportunity to attend the most prestigious boarding school in the world, she jumped at the chance to apply. It also helped that she’s always wanted to live in England. She finally manages to shake off her nerves and walks into the school.

Upon entering the school, Y/N notices how much cleaner and how the equipment is so much better than what she had back at home. The hallways were empty seeing as it was the Saturday before school started, so she is all alone in the school. After a few minutes, she manages to find her way to the principal’s office while struggling to bring all of her bags with her at the same time. The new student gently arranges her bags near the door to make sure they are not in the way, then she lifts her hand to the door and knocks. “You may enter,” an authoritative voice instructs her. Y/N enters to see a middle-aged woman sitting at her desk looking over some documents with her glasses balancing off of her nose. The older woman looks up at the sound of the door closing and motions for Y/N to sit on one of the chairs in front of her desk, “You must be Miss. L/N, our scholarship winner.” Y/N nods her head to show her agreement, she isn’t going to lie, but she is a little intimidated by the principal. “Alright, classes start on Monday at 9:00 a.m. sharp. Miss. Daniels should already be at the front office waiting for you. She’ll be your guide for the day. Here is your schedule and some other information you might need. If you have any questions, then you may ask Miss. Daniels and I would also like to inform you that if your marks slip even by a percent that you will lose your scholarship. Is that clear?” Ms. Sinclair informs the pupil. “Yes,” Y/N answers quietly because she’s slightly terrified with how cold the principal seems. “Good, you may address me as Ms. Sinclair and nothing else. You are dismissed,” Ms. Sinclair demands. Y/N quickly gets out of her chair and goes towards the door.

Y/N grabs her bags a little bit more easily now that she knows how to handle all of them and makes her way back towards the front of the school where she saw the front office. When she gets to the front of the school, she notices a girl around her age waiting in front of the office. The teen notices Y/N approaching and immediately rushes to help her with a smile on her face.  “Hi, you must be Y/N L/N. I am Delilah Daniels and I’ll be your tour guide. I’ll give you a tour of campus, then I can help you move into your dorm if you’d like. You don’t have to worry about your bags, I’ll call the concierge to come get them and bring them to your room. Now, the first stop is going to be the science labs where you bio and chemistry,” Delilah introduces herself. Y/N notices that Delilah has a British accent that is as smooth as butter.  The girls place the bags near the entrance and shake each other’s hands, “I am Y/N. Nice to meet you. And the science lab sounds like a great start.” Delilah makes a quick call to the concierge, then they walk down the hall to the left and up the stairs to her biology lab. “Now, upstairs to the left is the science wing, so you have all the science labs up here. Your bio lab is in room 203 and your chemistry lab is in room 220,” Delilah starts off, “Let’s head over to where you are going to be taking geometry and algebra, which is on upstairs on the right side of the also known as the mathematics wing. This term you’re only taking geometry, algebra, biology, and math. Next term you’re taking media arts, English literature, French, and psychology, right?” Y/N nods along to what Delilah says, “That seems right. Your last names Daniels right? As in your parents are Anna and Maurice Daniels, Daniels? They own practically every chain hotel I can think of.” “Yep, those are my old folks. They could be a little hectic and gone, but they have always been there for me when I need them and I know they love me. That’s all that really matters, right? So what do your parents do for a living? You live in Toronto right?” Delilah questions the new girl. “Yeah, I do. My mom works as a social worker, she tries to help kids in the system. My dad is a baker, we actually live on top of the bakery he owns. My little sister and brother always like to head down to the bakery at the end of the day and steal whatever leftovers are left. Do you have any siblings?” Y/N explains. “No, I am an only child. It gets a little lonely sometimes, but that’s alright. I would love to live over a bakery! The smell of freshly baked pastries would waft into the house and it could smell like freshly baked croissants every day. The math wing is just around the corner,” Delilah rants a little as they head over to the math wing.

When they rounded the corner, two other people were rounding the corner at the same time. A collision would have happened, but Y/N’s quick reflexes stopped them from crashing. In front of the two girls were two boys about their age wearing Versace, Prada, Gucci, and some other clothing brands that Y/N could never dream about owning. The boy on the left is taller than the boy on the right, he has dirty blonde hair and clear blue eyes. He’s handsome, but the boy on the right is the show stopper for Y/N. He has dark chestnut brown hair that matches his eyes. His nose is a little cricked and his lips are a little thin, but she liked how the nose made him look rugged and how his lips still looked perfect to kiss. His jaw looks so sharp that she believes is she were to run her finger along it she would cut it. No matter how badly the young girl wanted to go on a date with him, she knew about who he is and what his reputation is. He’s the infamous Tom Holland or as the tabloids like to call him, Holland the Lady Killer. His motto is hit then quit it and that really isn’t what Y/N is looking for. “Hey, just who we were looking for! I told Haz that you’d be showing the scholar bee around the school. You’ve always loved to meet new people. Thought we’d come join you seeing as this year’s scholar bee is a female and not another boring ass dude. So does the little lady have a name?” Tom inquires slyly as he makes his way over to Delilah and slings his hand around her neck. “My names Y/N. What’s it matter to you?” She snarls not liking what he said at all. “Damn, you got a mouth on you. I like a girl who isn’t afraid to talk back. Well, I guess it’s my turn to introduce. I am Tom and this div beside me is Harrison,” Tom tries to say in the most charming voice he could. Y/N just scoffs and keeps walking, “Whatever. Nice to meet you, Harrison. Now, let’s head over to the mathematics wing.” “Looks like we finally found someone who can resist Tommy’s charm,” Haz whispers to his two comrades as they follow Y/N down the hall.

After finishing the tour of the campus, the four newly acquainted friends headed over to Y/N’s dorm so that they could help her unpack. “Okay, everything is labelled clearly so it shouldn’t be too hard trying to figure out where everything should go,” Y/N elucidates while tying her hair back and picking up one of the boxes that was labelled closet- Hoodies and Shirts. Everyone went to work on cleaning out the boxes while they worked they talked, reminisce about old stories, joked around, and listened to some music. Symphony by Clean Bandit played on her phone and Y/N started swaying to the music. “I’ve been hearing symphonies before all I heard was silence. A rhapsody for you and me, and every melody is timeless,” she sang as she organized the books onto her bookshelf. Tom looks up from the clothes he was folding for her and stares in awe of her voice. To him, she sounded like an angel and all he wanted to do is listen to her sing all day. He may not have noticed it, but the whole afternoon he found himself noticing little things that he liked about her and he just wanted to be closer to him. He liked how she had all these random facts and how she could joke about anything and everything. He liked how organized she is and how she hasn’t fawned over her this whole afternoon. Y/N places the final book onto the shelf and looks over at everyone, “Alright, I can finish putting the clothes away after dinner. Why don’t we get something to eat? I read on the board that it’s taco night.” Everyone voiced their agreement and started to make their way over to the door, but before Y/N could leave, Tom gently tapped her on the shoulder and asked if he could talk to her. “Sure,” she tells him. Tom stands straight and fixes his jacket nervously, “I was wondering if we could restart. I know, I was a jackass, but I would really like to be friends with you. Plus, I know you, Deli, and Haz get along well and I really don’t feel like being kicked out of my own friend group.” Y/N smiles at Tom to show him that everything is alright. “Tommy, it's fine. Sometimes people start off on the wrong foot and that’s fine. Let’s start, over. Hey, I am Y/N. I don’t believe I got your name,” Y/N says nicely as she sticks her hand out for Tom to shake. He chuckles and takes her hand, “It’s Tom, Tom Holland. You may have heard of me. My dad owns the world’s best phone company as well as several other companies you may have heard of.” “Okay, now you just sound like cocky. How about we just head over to the mess hall and call it a day?” Y/N suggest as how she links their arms and walks off to the mess hall.

When dinner was over, Y/N was feeling a little jet-lagged so she headed back to her dorm to get some sleep while the other three decided to head to the game room. They were playing pool when Harrison decided to bring up the conversation. “So you and Y/N…” he wonders out loud as he aims the queue at one of the balls. Tom leans on the wall and retorts, “Nothing is going on between us. We are just friends that’s all.” Delilah snorts and laughs, “Yeah, right! I noticed your side glances at her, but I’ll let you deny whatever you want if it helps you sleep at night.” Tom just shakes his and continues the game without mentioning Y/N again, but that night when he was trying to get to sleep all he could do was think back to the conversation they had in the game room and Y/N’s angelic singing voice.

Vice Or Vogue

In today’s lesson we looked at Vice and Vogue. During this lesson we learnt that Vogue mainly focuses on fashion, celebrities are featured and they also focus more on editorial photography. Whereas, Vice mainly focuses on real life, has news in their magazines that isn’t mainstream and can have explicit material in their magazines. Alongside that, in Vice their brands/adverts focuses on: Fenchurch, Vans, Lee, Addict, Fly53, Nokia, Bench, Giff Gaff, Nixon, Size,  Element, New Balance, and Vice usually sells trainers, clothes, sportswear, Tech (mobile phones), sunglasses and watches. Vogue brands/adverts normally include things like: Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vitton, Dior, Prada, Cholé, YSL, Cartier, Blue Berry, Ralph Lauren, Vivienne Westwood, Tommy Hilfiger and then usually sell high-end fashion brands, perfume, clothes, makeup/beauty products, bags, jewellery, sunglasses, hats, shoes and watches.

Vice target audiences is mainly: the young generation, male, indie/alt skateboard culture. The youth generation with an interest in subcultures and unconventional approaches to life (18+). Whereas, for Vogue the target audience is mainly: female, teenage girls/young women, wealthy people, middle class women interested in high-end fashion (16+). Alongside that, the photos/layouts/adverts: some compositional aspects, same models, heavy makeup, heavy post production, poesy, supermodels/celebrity and Hi-Fi (High Fidelity). As for Vice their photos/layouts/adverts is usually: low production aspects, candid photographs, (mostly) none posed photographs, natural and Lo-Fi (Low Fidelity).

With that, for the Vice Magazine articles they are mainly: diary entries, slang, informal, personal journeys, unconventional style of writing, guides and how-to-dos. Alongside that, the Vice magazine articles are usually about life stories/events, information/news, fashion/life choices, sex, drugs, violence and other controversial things. As for Vogue, their articles are usually: Formal, have proper use of grammar and sentence structure, personal experiences, review, guides, where-to-go and what-to-do. Alongside that, the Vogue magazine articles are also usually about: fashion (trends, what to look out for, up and coming fashion etc), reviews of high-end brands, life style (how-tos/where to go/trendy bars/restaurants) and they are family friendly.
