Around ten minutes into a training activity, everything is stopped as a centurion marches towards a child, they can't be older than 13. Taking off their helmet, the centurion looks utterly furious. If anyone knows their way around the camp, they'd recognize the demigod as the centurion of the 2nd cohort.

"MARCELLUS!" They scream at the kid, who seems to have wolf ears and a tail. Their ears pin down when they get yelled at. There's a bunch of weapons laying around the general area they're standing, and a couple knocked over demigods. "WHAT WAS THAT?!"

"I- I didn't mean to, I swear-" The kid tries to defend themself and puts their hands up in surrender. Looks like they know they're in trouble. They're not even wearing any armor, which is strange to see during drills. "I was just-"

"Enough, I don't want to hear your excuses. I can't have you in my cohort- we've tried to right you for YEARS. With zero effects. That's it. I'm done." The centurion turns towards Reyna, the praetor. "I kindly ask that Marcellus be demoted, at least two cohorts down, and have him excluded from activities for today. I feel like everyone around here agrees with me-" And they do, people start nodding and murmuring quiet agreements.

Reyna nods, and with that, the kid is shoo'd away.

Legit so disgusting how so many ppl are jumping at the chance to criticise Max. In the past few days, I've seen so many social media comments calling him names like 'brat', 'manchild', 'immature' etc. + belittling his racing skills.

So many ppl are also completely spinning their own narrative, acting as if Max is the only driver to ever be heated up during a high-adrenaline race. According to them, Schumi, Senna, Lewis etc. have never lost their cool and always take the blame for every single incident. (Note: this is NOT a hate post ok- any driver examples I use is just to show the hypocrisy of these ppl. I mentioned these drivers cuz it's based off genuine comments I saw.)

First of all, Max had every reason to be upset during the race. The major Hungary updates RBR had been hinting at for weeks underwhelmed (don't give me the 'it's still fast anyway'- this is F1. Every driver and team expects their car to be the fastest, not just fast. If you don't understand that, you don't get the point of F1- an engineering competition. Also RBR has been struggling with the same kerbs issue since 2022.), with Max struggling with various issues during the race.

Additionally, the strategy was not great; Max gave the 1st pitstop decision a pass, but then they repeated it for the 2nd pitstop. RBR was hoping that the tyre delta would salvage the race but c'mon, Christian Horner admitted after the race that they got the data wrong and miscalculated how fast they needed to gap the others cars per lap to overtake. From Max's pov, RBR repeated the mistake of the 1st pitstop, allowing him to be undercut again, by both Lewis and Charles, dropping him back to 5th when he started 3rd, on a track known to be hard to overtake. Furthermore, this race was more a race of undercutting than actual on-track overtakes; one prominent example that showed the power of the undercut in this race was Lando, who was stuck behind Oscar for the vast majority of the race. Yet once they undercut Oscar, Lando ended up 3s+ ahead of Oscar, with the gap increasing to ~5s+ as the laps went on, with Oscar unable to catch up. To make matters worse, Max had told the team that undercutting was impt BEFORE the race. Finally, I love GP (Max's race engineer) but honestly they were just antagonising each other during the race. The most obvious example was the sarcastic remark of 'some gentle introduction' after Max did a fast outlap so that he could catch Charles and Lewis, which just made Max even more frustrated. After which, there was literally radio silence for 15 mins, no communication of modes, gaps etc. Max himself mentioned after the race that it did not help that instead of being a calming presence, they (presumably RBR, including GP) did not listen to him and even argued with him. So this mixture of the team not listening to him, repeating the same mistake twice, underwhelming upgrades and poor communication on the radio contributed to Max frustrations in the car. (Oh but according to crofty (sky sports) it's cuz Max did not get his beauty sleep despite Max having followed his standard sleep schedule. Because sleep outranks good strategy and the best car in F1. 🤡 Kids these days and their simracing.)

Could Max have been more polite? Ideally, ig. But GP too was confrontational when he should have been trying to resolve the issues with Max. Was Max wrong in terms of calling out the strat? No. Also, it's so easy for ppl to judge, lazing on their couch. This is a high adrenaline sport for goodness sake, with millions of dollars on the line and millions of people watching their every move. Randos get pissed off at a slow moving vehicle on a normal road; imagine how it would be to be a racing driver going at ~200mph, with the expectations of the team, fans etc. weighing down on you.

Some are arguing that Red Bull generally does well so Max has no right to be upset. Lol. Idk how ppl don't get it into their heads that this is a SPORT. In every sport, any top performing athelete and team knows that every single match/race/point etc matters. You're not there to say "Oh we've won in the past so let's just throw away some games". You're always there to deliver your best. With this kinda logic, Lewis should also have no right to be upset/disappointed with Mercedes cuz didn't they deliver him a championship winning car for years? Idk lmao this particular line of logic is so weird.

I've also seen so many people saying things along the lines of "Max always complains", "Max can't win without the car"- a really weird one considering one only has to look at the recent races to debunk that, "Max blames everything on the team" etc. Be so fr literally every driver 'complains'. A notable case was Austria 2023, where Toto had to come on the race to tell Lewis to 'just drive the car' because he kept going on about it in multiple races last year. Most of the time they're just giving feedback. When they're genuinely 'complaining', it's often cuz they've been screwed over by their own team. See some cases just in this race alone: Alex on the indecisive tyre choice by Williams, Daniel on the screwed up strat by by VCARB. Max wasn't even wrong about the strat. The comment that 'Max blames everything on the team/ When everything goes well it's him, when it doesn't it's the team' is so laughable because if there is one driver on the grid that is consistent in thanking his team and rarely himself, it's Max. You literally just have to see the previous race, Silverstone 2024 where he could've easily said him making all the right calls to pit was essential to getting P2 in the end. Instead, he gave the credit to the team. He's also quick to apologise when he's in the wrong. See Spa quali 2023 after his outburst in Q2. Or when he bought ice cream for GP a few years back to apologise. Also idk where ppl get the idea Max treats his team like shit? Time and time again, people who worked with him have mentioned how they love working with him. For this particular weekend, he literally treated the team to dinner the night before the race but these ppl will never talk about that. What's said on the radio is in the heat of the moment, which ALL the drivers have done. And Max wasn't wrong either; maybe ideally he would have conveyed it nicer, but again, they're all pumped up on adrenaline.

As for the incident, it wasn't even that bad? It looked bad cuz the wheels touched, making Max's car fly up + cuz it was btwn Max and Lewis, certain 'fans' immediately jumped into their hate frenzy. Idk I find it so weird that people keep harping on about it when Lewis said immediately after the race that it was a racing incident. (Those clowns trying to liken Max to Alonso in Austria 2024 need to rewatch the collisions instead of looking at static pictures is all I can say lol cuz Alonso's was straight up a T-bone while Max-Lewis was a wheel bang.) And anyway, ALL drivers get into incidents no matter their accomplishments (Lewis in Monza 2023, Charles hitting Lando in fp this year, Carlos-Oscar in Miami 2024 etc.). The narrative that Max gets into incidents more than the other drivers is just untrue. In fact, this brings me to my next point. The moment Max is half of any incident, regardless of whether he is at fault, so many scumbags immediately completely trash him like a bunch of rabid dogs. For example, Max-George last year at Las Vegas 2023, where Max was not at fault at ALL; George even admitted he wasn't looking in his mirrors. Or Lap 1 Turn 1 of that same race, where ppl to this day are shitting on Max for 'pushing' Charles off-track- when there was literally an oil spill on his grid spot before the race, making that side slippery despite efforts to clean it up, with others like Alonso and Carlos spinning at the same point Max 'pushed' Charles. His onboard then even showed he tried to steer in but the car didn't budge. Besides, he got a penalty that slowed him down a lot (when Lap 1 Turn 1 incidents don't usually get a penalty- idk how ppl can think the FIA favours him lmfao- and no matter what the haters who prob didn't even watch the race said; serving the penalty in the pitstop dropped Max much further back than just swapping positions would have) AND he apologised to Charles right after the race (but noooo he never takes the blame).

The hate ppl have for Max (and tbh, some other drivers) is honestly quite alarming and weird. Like, these grownass ppl are hating on a 26 year old at the top of his game lol. It doesn't help that the media (especially the British media) feeds, if not started, this hatred frenzy. Just see Austria this year, where the media and 'fans' completely blew the incident between Max and Lando out of the water, only for multiple current and ex F1 drivers to call them out on their bs lmao. Again, for Austria 2024, Lando and Max spoke after the race too. But it doesn't fit their narrative so these ppl will never bother to mention this.

Slight tangent but for ppl who try to justify it by saying 'oh it's how it is cuz Max is dominating'- I understand where yall are coming from (see Seb 2013 lol), but the hatred for Max is particulary overwhelming because there are much more fans now, mainly due to DTS and consequently, F1 becoming popular/more popular on social media platforms like TikTok, Twitter etc. As such, Max is arguably facing higher levels of vitrol, since DTS didn't exactly favour him (understatement of the year lol) and many fans who 'watch' F1 through social media just jump on the hate bandwagon without actually watching races/fact-checking. This is worsened by how the media (mainly the Brit media) jumps at every opportunity to put Max down. Sky Sports in particular, being the main broadcast for most fans, often feeds this hate (esp if David Croft or Ted Kravitz is speaking). Finally, all this is only worsened by how social media allows this hate to circulate much more quickly and widely.

You know, honestly the LoV should have won the Paranormal Liberation War and annihilated most of the Class 1A and the hero society as a whole. I didn't like Class 1A because nobody died and plot armor saved them too many times so I want the LoV to win in the PLF War Arc.

While I can't say I’m a big proponent to any of the kids dying, especially when they…used to be…the best chance the story had at changing things in the next generation. (Definitely should’ve killed more pro heroes though, especially Endeavor.) But that other stuff?

Yeah, yeah I think the first war should’ve ended in a far more decisive villain victory. Especially one where they get to be in charge a bit.

Like, people came away from the first war thinking the heroes lost, and certainly it was their worst showing of an operation in living memory. But did they lose? Certainly not. The villains lost over 99% of their forces including many of their power players that could’ve taken on pro heroes solo and won. Sure they picked up more later for the 2nd war, but most of these replacements were USJ-tier nobodies at best. Meanwhile the heroes only lost half their numbers...and most were just due to cold feat in the aftermath. Actual casualties were, as I recall, a few dozen or so? Maybe in the low hundreds?

And I think that’s quite a missed opportunity. I’d have loved to see what things could’ve been like with Shigaraki on his rubble throne; let the PLF put their money where their mouths were and make the easier-to-live-in world Toga kept talking about. I think it could’ve been a great way to show the flaws that were supposed to be in their approach, maybe see why things can’t get better through their kind of violent upheaval or what ways they aren’t equipped to govern; but maybe also highlight some more flaws in the existing system by having the PLF focus hard on fixing them or maybe fixing a few easily. Just one "man, why didn't we do that?" situation could've been really cool & interesting.

Instead we got a period where nobody was in charge…well, actually more accurately the heroes and their government were still in charge in theory, but they were doing it badly because they failed once so a bunch of people lost so much faith that they stopped listening and chose to live in localized effective anarchy instead. But then the heroes prove themselves again and it all went back to normal.

(Man, putting it like that makes the hero system seem like the stock market if it was law enforcement.)

Anyway, because we didn’t really get to see what the villains’ world would be like, I still kind of think a resolution where Shigaraki triumphed over everyone and came out on top as ruler would’ve been the 2nd best ending for everything we could’ve gotten. (1st was of course one where heroes and villains work together for a best of both worlds resolution. 3rd by a wide margin is the one we got where everything goes back to as it was and trucks along to doomsday. And 4th was the one where AFO pulls a win out his ass.) Because, considering how aware the PLF are of the existing system’s flaws and their want to correct them; I can’t think of much solid criticism for their hypothetical governance that are not themselves purely hypothetical worst-case assumptions. I mean, besides ‘it’s wrong to get there through such violence’…and this is a shonen action manga where All Might ushered in an age of peace after beating up enough of AFO’s goons. A message like that’d always read a little hollow.

I can’t help but think that’s not the impression I was supposed to get towards the idea of the League being in charge and trying to make their easier world, but it’s the one I got anyway because there's not much to disprove it. Whoops.

Besides, the Paranormal Liberation War arc really was the villains' arc; if anyone had earned a true win by the end, it was them.

Vi stepped off the Hogwarts Express with a leap. Following behind her was Ekko, This would be Vi's 4th year at Hogwarts, and Ekko's 1st year. They knew each other as kids, Vi and Ekko, so she was thrilled when she found out he had received a letter too. Vi made sure to show Ekko around Diagon Alley before they boarded the train. She even lent him one of her robes from her first year to wear. 

Vi got her letter to Hogwarts soon after she got into some trouble with the Law back in the Zaun 5 years ago. She decided to attend Hogwarts, partially as a way to pardon herself for the remainder of her time in Stillwater, and also as a distraction from the pain of losing Powder. Vi had figured it would be easier to find her sister while attending a university, rather than being stuck in a prison.  

Vi wasn't very surprised when she got her letter to Hogwarts. Vander told her that their mom was a witch too. Vi always knew about magic since Vander, Her Mother, and Silco were all professors at the University back in the day. Now the only one left from them was Silco. Vi resented him for that. She knew that Silco had a part in Vander's death, she just had no proof it was him.

It happened close to when Vi was arrested. She was 15, Powder was 12. Vander had gotten a call that the School was threatened. Some dark witches and wizards wanted to get to the Headmaster, god knows why, and Vander wasn't going to let what happened to Mom happen to anyone else. He told Powder to stay home and brought Vi along to help get any bystanders to safety. 

Vander was in the forbidden forest looking for the mages, and Vi stood behind him in case he needed backup or someone to run and get more help. Silco told Vander that there were only three mages in the forest. So they brought five professors, and Vander and Silco were two of them. 

But Silco had lied, the dark mages ended up being more powerful, and a bigger group than they were told. Vi couldn't even quite recall how many there were, she counted 8 of them before giving up. And the mages were ready for them too, it was like an ambush.

After seeing this, Vander and the others were quickly outmatched. But against their odds, they were about to win the fight. Until Powder showed up with one of her "magic inventions" Which was really just her putting her uncontrolled magic into a toy and letting it explode. Well, this concentrated magic was a little more fueled than usual. Powder was scared for Vander and Vi, she wanted to help the best way she could. The only way she knew how, so she did. 

Powder always had an affinity for the arcane. But she couldn't control it, ever. She was so powerful for a kid, and because of that, she was dangerous too. Vander tried to teach her how to control it, But he didn't have enough time to.

Back in the battle, with the Professors bloody, but almost victorious. Powder released one of her "Magic bombs" at the group of dark mages. But the explosion was too powerful. It killed the mages, quickly. And most of the trees within a 50ft radius came crashing down. Vander got hit by the blast, as well as two other professors with him. Vi couldn't get the sight of Vander's bloody body under that fallen tree out of her mind for years. She still sees it in her nightmares sometimes.

And Powder never could forget it either. Nor could she forget the feel of Vi's slap to her face, and the words Vi said to her afterwards. "You're a Jinx!" were the words Jinx heard In her head every time she looked in the mirror. 

After they couldn't save Vander, Vi ran away, the night fell quiet and her sobs could be heard the whole time he was running out of that forest. The other professor who wasn't Silco began to bring Vander's body back to be buried. But Silco couldn't help but stare at the little blue-haired girl crying into her hands. Silco met Powder and Vi a few times before, back before him and Vander had that awful fight.

Silco noticed Powder looked just like her mother.

Limping over to the child, Silco offered her a handkerchief from his coat pocket. Ignoring it, Powder jumped toward him, and held on. Silco was knocked to the ground, as Powder held on to him sobbing into his coat, he wrapped his arms around the girl. "Your sister left you. Do you want to find her?" Silco asked as he held her. "She is not my sister." Powder said between sobs.

Vi regretted her words to Powder, regretted hitting her, she regretted every single moment of that night. Vi went back to look for Powder in the forest, but she never found her. A day after the events, the ministry found Vi, they took her in for questioning about the Dark Mages. But Vi couldn't offer them any worthwhile information. Vi's descent into rebellion was quick, acting out whenever she could. She broke many laws trying to find information on Powders whereabouts. Spells, threats, throwing punches, you name it. She ended up in prison fast. Then Heimerdingers letter arrived, Vi had an escape, so she took it.

Silco kept Jinxes whereabouts secret from Vi. He respected her wishes of never wanting to see her sister. But eventually the time came for Jinx to get older and attend Hogwarts. Silco was hesitant, but Jinx was insistent. He knew he could never control her anyways.

And so, unknown to Vi and Ekko, on the other side of the train, Jinx steps out with her black robes adorned. She was unsorted, being as it was her first year too. She would soon find out what house she'd be in. She had an inkling it would be Slytherin, that's what Silco had told her anyway. 

Vi was clueless that Jinx would also be attending Hogwarts, but Jinx knew Vi would be here. Jinx always thought that she would be mad or never want to see her sister again after what happened in their childhood, but she wasn't. She actually wanted to see Vi again, even if a part of her also wanted to scream at her. 

Silco was worried at first when Jinx said she would attend Hogwarts, but he was never one to tell Jinx no. Being the head of Slytherin house, he was confident he would be able to protect Jinx from any threats, whether they be emotional or physical. And he knew that Hogwarts would be the best place to unlock her highest potential.

Nearby at another exit from the train were Jayce Talis, Viktor, and Caitlyn Kiramman. They all wore their blue robes proudly as they walked towards their guide. "Need some help Viktor?" Jayce asked watching Viktor descend the train steps with his cane. "I've got it, like always," Viktor said, now off the steps. Caitlyn stifled a laugh at Jayce's worry, before speaking. "Jayce, What classes did you say you were taking again this year?" She asked. "Students, please follow me to the banquet hall!" A teacher interrupted. Jayce shot her a look that said "Tell you in a bit."

"First Years, come with me!" Another teacher yelled on a different side of the platform. Jinx walked that way, pulling the cloak above her hair. The night was chilly, and she eyed the boats they were about to ride over on. The academy looked huge in the distance, Jinx couldn't help but feel some excitement about attending. She remembered Vanders stories of her mom's time here. It used to make her so happy when he'd share those stories. But now thinking about them just made her angry, or sad, usually both.

As Jinx boarded one of the First Year boats, the water swayed beneath, rocking it side-to-side. Jinx held her breath. She'd never been on a boat before, and the feeling was uncomfortable. There were around four kids in each boat. She didn't know anyone from the first years, nor did she care to learn. 

Vi gave Ekko a nudge in the direction of the boats before heading toward the guide for the older students. She noticed the group beginning to walk toward Hogwarts and had to sprint to catch up. She raised her head to try and catch a glimpse of where the teacher was, and while doing so failed to see the blue-haired lady she was about to go barreling into. Briefly catching herself from tumbling full-force, Vi made a surprised sound as she bumped into Caitlyn. Caitlyn yelped in surprise back, turning around to see Vi, Caitlyn shot her a disapproving look. "There is no need to run around like a maniac," Caitlyn said, eyes drifting down to Vi's unraveling red and yellow tie. "Gryffindor." She added. Vi's eyebrows scrunched. "Sorry, Ravenclaw," Vi responded with more sarcasm than actual remorse. 

Ekko was led to a boat that had 3 other students in it. The night made it hard to see anything around him. The only light to illuminate the students, boat, and water was the moon, as well as a single lantern hanging from the front of each boat. The first years were chatting amongst one another. Ekko took his seat next to a student who had their cloak up which covered most of their head, he didn't blame them, as it was quite cold. He was the last first year to arrive, the teacher took attendance before sending the boats off toward the university. Ekko guessed the boats must be enchanted, cause they steered themselves on their own. As Ekko sat on the boat's seat, he looked around at the dark waters surrounding him. The water looked a lot cleaner here than it did back in Zaun. He inhaled the chilly air, it smelled like a lake, with the scent of algae and pine trees around. But a scent next to him reminded him of the Undercity, gunpowder.

Ekko turned his head to examine the student next to him better. Maybe they were from the Undercity and he knew them. Against the moonlight and lantern's warm hue, he saw a flash of pale skin and blue hair. A pit began to form in his stomach. It couldn't be her. right? "Jinx?!" Ekko asked, voice sounding alert. The chatter on the boat stopped for a moment as they all looked at Ekko. The cloaked student lowered their cloak down to their neck and looked at Ekko. "If it isn't the boy savior." Jinx teased, voice low. "What are you doing here?" Ekko asked. The phrase came out a little harsher than he intended, and he felt a twinge of guilt after seeing Jinx wince in response. "I could ask you the same... thing." Jinx dragged, the corners of her mouth tilting upward at the end. "I- I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that. It's just, we had no idea where you were. Vi has been a mess since you left back then and-" Jinx cut Ekko off with a wave. "Vi's been a mess?" She laughed. "I'm surprised she remembers me at all." Jinx lied. She wasn't surprised. And hearing Ekko say Vi is a mess... Well, that made her secretly feel happy. "We've missed you, Jinx. Why did you run for so long?" Ekko asked. Jinx inched closer to him before speaking. "At least someone has my name right now. and don't be dumb, Ekko." Jinx responded, tilting her head. "You know the reason I ran. We all do..." Jinx said glumly. "Silco and Vander," Ekko said. Realization dawning. he always knew, they all did. But they hoped that if they could find a way to forgive, then maybe Jinx could too. But she thought of things differently. 

The boats docked next to the university, and the students began to stand. "Students, please follow me to the banquet hall!" A teacher yelled. Jinx stood up but Ekko reached out for her arm. Jinx returned his touch with a warning glare, and he let go.

Dumbledore was not raising child soldiers. The youngest people in the Order we know of (in the 1st war) were the Marauders and Lily and they obviously joined after they graduated. So this argument doesn't apply to first war Dumbledore. 2nd war was different, he did groom Harry to be his child soldier but Harry is an entirely different case. He was a weapon. But to your comment about him and Tom... I do not think he is responsible for what became of Tom. Yes he could have guide him, but why put that job entirely on his shoulders? Dumbledore didn't know what will become of Tom. He simply knew he was a troubled kid. But was it his job to bear the guiding? I believe it was Slughorn's job as every other teacher around him. Dumbledore was acting decent and polite, just like he would with any other child, the first time they met, so he didn't ostrazice him. And through Tom's student years we only saw them interact after the Chamber of Secrets incident where Dumbledore had some suspicions he couldn't prove. Tom was failed by every single adult around him. In the orphanage and by his teachers. His environment that fueled his ambitions for power and control (both at the orphanage and among his peers) connected with his antisocial personality traits and the authority figures failing to help him just made him the way he is and shaped him into the violent man he was. I don't know if some actions on Dumbledore's part could have prevented that. Dumbledore might have helped but Riddle was doomed from all of his environments and a simple figure would probably not change much. After all he created his first Horcrux (the most evil act in the books) when he was a teenage student. That shows that he was beyond fucked up and how do you think a man like Dumbledore (busy with his job and occupied with Grindelward war) could have handled all the burden? Dumbledore is not the man for the job. It's not in his personality. He had a lot to do with the war already. Raising an orphan and trying to mold him into a decent person is simply not the task for him, especially at that time. Riddle is the product of neglectful caregivers, poor financial situation, being raised in constant survival state, growing up during the war, being ostraziced and maybe even bullied, having no support system, having noone that loved him, trying to survive in Slytherin and being in an environment where only power could get him recognition and control and having some sort of mental disorder that made all of these situations much worse to cope with. Yes Rowling said he was psychopath but the main theme of her story is that he WAS capable of love and remorse/change but his choices and upbringing made it incredibly hard, almost impossible for him. So she didn't say he is incapable of love. Just that he is an evil person who made shitty choices. Mostly due to how he grew up. But blaming Dumbledore is silly. Riddle needed a strong support system and he simply never got it and Dumbledore was not in the best situation or state of mind to provide what Tom needed.

So don’t be a teacher. My problem with Dumbledore is that being a teacher comes with responsibility, especially if you’re eventually the Headmaster of the school. This isn’t just Dumbledore’s fault, it’s the fault of all the adults at Hogwarts, who for the most part are completely incompetent when it comes to dealing with children. But my problem with Dumbledore is that I find him hypocritical for judging the actions of certain characters who were literally under his care (because if you have children in your charge at a boarding school, you’re the closest thing to a legal guardian they have, and they are your responsibility, including their well-being), and he left them to their own devices because, well, he didn’t care, or they didn’t serve his purposes, or he already considered them lost causes, or who knows what.

The other day I was revisiting one of the shows from my childhood (a horrible, very problematic soap opera, but well, you know, those things that mark your childhood and you have affection for) and it was also set in a boarding school with rich kids. In that school, there was a secret society of very rich kids who tried to kick out the scholarship students because they believed the school shouldn’t accept lower-class people (does that sound familiar?). The thing is, they got caught, were exposed, and were reported. When they were reported, one of the adults said that those kids should go straight to a reform school or be judged and pay for their crimes. Then, a teacher comes forward and says, “Stop, no, no, these kids are clearly not well. These kids need support and psychological help, and we need to understand why they’ve reached this point and why they’ve developed these attitudes.” And it really moved me because that’s what a good teacher is. That’s what someone dedicated to educating young people should be. That’s the mindset, the attitude, and the way to confront kids who take the wrong paths.

And yes, that’s what Dumbledore should have done. And if he couldn’t do it because it wasn’t part of his personality, because he had his own problems or issues, because he was involved in a war, or whatever excuse it was, then he shouldn’t have taken a position of responsibility that involved children. Especially in a pretty hostile environment where many were likely to end up on very twisted paths. And he shouldn’t have waited until some came crying to him as adults, or until some were on the brink of committing homicide, or until some ended up in a cult to intervene. And his way of intervening shouldn’t have been condescending, manipulating them, or even blaming them for their actions. That’s not what a good teacher does, that’s not how a good educator behaves, that’s negligence, and negligence with children and teenagers is terrible to me. Because we’re talking about children and teenagers who spent most of their lives at that school, who were with him more than with their own parents. It was his damn job, I’m sorry, he should’ve chosen something else.

Icy actually knows horse riding and had a white horse when she was younger but it was taken away from her because of her family's fall from grace. She still suffers from it.

she is a bookworm. No matter what kind of books, if she reads, she fkn reads and nothing can disturb her. A bomg could explode next to her, when she reads she doesn't give a fck. One time when they were children, Stormy almost drowned because Darcy was so immersed reading a new novel

she loved fantasy, mostly when it's some kind of legend that has tome kind of facts in it. As a kid she read all the stuff that people would only read when they're older. Stuff like the mists of avalon when she was about 13.

later on she mostly read spicy romance because of the lack of it in her freetime (when she was with riven and he looked at the book on her nightstand she became super mad because she was embarassed [he found it cute and gave her a lot of love that night *v*])

she's an excellent student as well but has to work much harder than Icy. Darcy is brilliant in mental magic and understands the darkness of dark magic better than anyone else...but the rest is something she simply has to learn and she will only go to bed if she mastered a new spell. Lestat de Lioncourt Ancestry: Ancient Elf (Polymath Bard Dedication) Background: Musical Prodigy Class: Sorcerer (Diabolic)

i was struck with a horrifying and evil vision of the most manic pixie dream twink mary sue build and thought. oh my god. that's lestat. and that's how i got the idea to make this post. i picked sorcerer because there is no more "i have every powerful ancient vampires blood running through me" Specialest Girl In The World class than sorcerer. i tacked on diabolic as an homage to lestats constant struggle with his nature being that of the devil through the series. ancient elf was both because of his deep ties to the ancients but also because of the free dedication. that girl needed a bard feat !!! yes she's the chosen one and more special and beautiful than everyone else but she's also a Performer. i specifically choose polymath bard because lestat has never been able to stay fixated on a muse for more than 15 minuets. multi talented diva with attention deficit disorder ! musical prodigy also lends some trained skills for the bard part of the build and ties it all off with a nice bow.

Louis de Pointe du Lac Ancestry: Human (Aiuvarin) Background: Bookkeeper Class: Oracle (Ancestors)

louis was TOUGH. sadly pf2e has no options for irresistibly sexy gay entrepreneurs so i had to make some concessions. i was originally between animist and barbarian for louis but the farther i got into the build the more they both felt really reductive and like they didn't showcase ALL of who louis is. he's not a carnival medium or roid head, he's a regular guy haunted by the people he's loved dead and alive !!! so i decided that ancestors oracle played into both his Dreamstat tendencies and the significance that the expectations and memories of his family have for him. i really wanted to keep louis human because i felt like his humanity is sooo important to his character, but i added the Aiuvarin (elven) heritage as a nod to the influence that Lestats influence and his turning has had on his humanity. bookkeeper is as close as i could get to successful sexy gay businessman and i'm sticking by it. (fun cruel add on, i gave him the 1st level Ancestry Feat Forlorn. the griever with a masters degree in loss.)

Claudia Ancestry: Dwarf (Aiuvarin) Background: Nomad Class: Rogue (Mastermind)

the sneaker !!! claudia was such a treat to build, i had such a clear picture for her. i chose dwarf because regardless of her size or perceived frailty, she's so incredibly strong. and stubbornly loyal to a fault! the Aiuvarin heritage is in the same vein as louis but with more lesdaughter implications. Mastermind Rogue was such a given, that girl is always 4 thousand steps ahead of everyone at any given moment. she doesn't need any fancy sneak attacks from the shadows or suprise attack brawls, shes just fuckin smart. she was eating up hundred year old vampires at 20 something like it was NOTHING. nomad was a coy nod to her run away escapades and her and madeleines plans to "wander".

Armand Ancestry: Elf (Nephilim) Background: Barrister Class: Bard (Maestro)

oooohhh my baby. this was such a challenge. i ummed and ahhed for ages but then i was shot in the chest with the sudden realization of; oh my god. theatre kid. bard. this guy was a director for over 200 years and has an actual passion for the stage and most other kinds of art OF COURSE he's a bard. maestro bard specifically because of his master complex and the weird perfectionism shame that that's caused. i chose nephilim elf mostly as a nod to armands specific type of beauty often being referred to as biblical or Botticellian but also because it gives the character "golden eyes." and i thought woah that's so armand. admittedly i struggled real bad with picking a background so i settled on Barrister as a little tongue in cheek joke about the orchestration of claudias trial, but i also tossed around Cultist and Artist. multitalented diva <3

Daniel Molloy Ancestry: Gutsy Halfling Background: Printer Class: Investigator (Interrogation)

this felt like a victory lap ngl. investigator, DUH. Interrogation because of the interviewing. of the vampire. i picked halfling because of their curious and inquisitive nature but also because they're notoriously lucky and i believe that pure luck is truly the only reason that daniel lived as long as he did. gutsy was both because he's mouthy and isn't afraid to bitch slap an undead gay serial killer but also because of his innate boner fear response. if that ain't gutsy idk what is !!! printer was a given for a Pulitzer prize winning published journalist.

Age: 22

Birthday: 1st October

Personality: Sophie is kind and supportive, she’s always been soft in the family compared to her brothers and sister and she was even seen as weak due to this. She was shyer when she was a kid but as she grew up she started speaking more confidently, but only when needed. Sophie does occasionally get angry and her temper sometimes gets the best of her and if she goes further she sometimes doesn’t know when to shut her mouth. But she’s a loyal lassie who doesn’t give up and is there for the people she loves most.

Powers: Teleportation and light beams - Sophie has the ability to any place she can think of as long as she has enough power to do so. Her power works in bursts, she has so many and then it stops and needs to recharge which she hasn’t figured out how long or how much that is yet. While she can do this she also has the power to obtain lighting from her hands and if she’s holding a weapon she can use it as a lighting weapon.

Family and how well she got along with them:

Luther - They are alright with each other, Sophie gets why he acts the way he does but wishes they had gotten more time to talk to each other. She admires him being a leader but feels he should loosen up.

Diego - They get along very well, Diego is very protective of Sophie as she is the youngest. They always hung out and she helped him with his stutter when they were younger and he showed her his cool skills. When times were hard they comforted each other.

Allison - They never got along, Sophie always tried to be nice to Allison but Allison didn't care about her one bit. So they never spoke much.

Klaus - Like two peas in a pod. The two are inseparable, they always spent time together getting into trouble and her helping him with his problem of the voices haunting him. But they are the best of friends and Sophie always helps him when needed.

Five - Sophie admired five, he was so smart and he would help her with her teleportation at times since he could time travel. They didn't hang out much, but smiles were shown when they were in each other's presence. which is more than she could've asked for since five never seemed to show affection. After he disappeared and never came back Sophie wrote him letters every day for him to read when he came home.

Ben - Deceased :( - but they were close as the two always hung out with Klaus they formed a bond and were super close, Sophie told Ben everything. When he died she was devastated and blamed herself because it was her fault for failing on her part as a team.

Viktor - Sophie and Viktor always were with each other, when their father was mean to Viktor she would be there for him and help him at times when he felt lost with no powers. They were close and Viktor is grateful for Sophie.

~Backstory~

The hargreeves children were adopted on the 12th hour of the first day of October 1989.

Back then Reginald trained up all the children with the use of their powers.

Luther had super strength and was the leader of the team giving him the nickname number 1, after a mission gone wrong on his own, his father saved his life but at the cost he was given an indestructible body, a monkey body but his other features stayed the same. After that, he was sent to the moon on a mission and was never seen since.

Diego has uncanny aim, he was nicknamed number 2 of the group. Back then Diego had a stutter and found it hard, but his mother (Grace) and Sophie helped him with it and gave him confidence. Diego was feisty as he got older, even after they had all left he still kept up being a hero and saving people from danger, listening to the radio and being ready to help them.

Allison has mind control, she was number 3 in the group, Allison always sought her father's approval but knew he would never give her the satisfaction. With her powers, she can manipulate anyone to do anything when she says "I heard a rumour". After the family had dispersed she left to pursue a career as an actress and starring in films, in which she was a success.

Klaus can speak to the dead and make them tangible figures in the land of the living. However, quite literally haunted by his powers, Klaus has resorted to drug and alcohol abuse which has limited his effectiveness in recent years. He is often accompanied by the ghost of Number Six. Dad had tortured Klaus to research his powers which was traumatic for him.

Five can travel through space and time which he can use to travel short distances (across a room) and considerably longer ones (decades into the future). The problem is, that his control over this ability is unreliable, which is why he ended up trapped on a post-apocalyptic Earth. Due to his time-travel shenanigans, he has grown much older than his adoptive siblings at the Academy but is stuck in the body of a 13-year-old and his mind is 58 years old.

Ben can summon tentacled monsters. This is one of The Umbrella Academy's creepier members, Ben has the power to summon horrifying tentacled monsters from his body, disposing of the team's foes in brutal fashion. Ben died horribly in an accident when the team were out on a mission, everyone believes they failed as a team. Sophie blames herself the most for his death.

Viktor can convert sound into destructive force. Viktor was originally thought to have no special abilities, but it emerged in the first season that Viktor was actually the most powerful member of the Umbrella Academy. He can convert sound into pure destructive force, capable of killing people and destroying entire buildings, using his violin as a tool to channel this power. He turned against his siblings after discovering he had been lied to for years.

Sophie is the youngest in the team. With her ability to teleport she can go any place she thinks of, and she can produce a shock of lighting within her hand and anything she wields. She was often overseen and not taken lightly. Her father didn't like her, and she was often isolated due to her saying disrespectful things but the truth in which he didn't let her get away with it. After five had disappeared, she stayed for a little while and was the first to leave them. She has joined a place called the commission and was on a mission of killing to keep her siblings alive.

Facts: Sophie struggles with a condition called, Dysgraphia. This refers to difficulty with spelling based aspects. She can read and write fine but she struggles to remember how to spell things. She has a scar on her back from working with the commission, a plan went wrong and she faced the consequences so her family didn’t suffer.

Season 2 Episode 10

Today's episode starts off sad. A painful reminder that Ben is gone.

Reginald was cruel enough to blame it on the kids, but at least had the decency to let them have the day off.

I also love it shows that each and every one of them affected the timeline. Even Klaus. How he was named and knew the connection (probably through last name), I don't know. And of course, they think Five was being held hostage and then Five says he does feel like it sometimes.

Which brings another thing to attention. The news specified "hostage" not kidnapped. Kidnapped requires moving the victim, whereas hostage does not. However, that has nothing to do with my point. Hostage also requires the attention of a 3rd party. So they believed that they held Five hostage in order to do something or get something. What exactly did they think that was? I really want to know how far the conspiracy theorists went.

The siblings all had a lot of balls to tell [Viktor] that they won't help [him] and Harlan. For the first time, [he's] asking for help. Admitting that [he's] scared. And they tell [him] they have other priorities. They tell the one who literally keeps ending the world no. Good choice. Also, little do they know that it literally WILL be their priority in just a few measly hours. They make up for it by all joining in the car. That was really sweet.

And wow, I forgot that Ben told [Viktor] to tell Klaus that he was too scared to go into the light. That it wasn't his fault. I almost started crying again.

The only thing I can think of, is Diego should've shut his dang mouth. I mean, I know it would've happened anyway, but still. Diego saying there's 7 of the siblings and 2 of them. Oh yeah, you're right. See what I can do? Boom. A billion commissioners. Idiot.

I am proud of Diego, however, with the bullets. He's never done anything like that (assumably), and it's a lot at once, too. He did it to save his dumb brother that everyone believes got themselves into this mess.

There's a lot going on here, and I'm writing as I watch, so it's a little difficult to find the words to voice my thoughts on this. I'll try my best.

[Viktor] being able to calm Harlan, being able to go into the little bubble that was created, is impressive. It might not seem like it, but it actually really is. That I'd such a huge energy force. Anyone else would probably be dead.

Lila being able to mimic everyone's powers is way too overpowered. And somehow, without practice with any of the powers, she's already stronger and can master them. Despite Five being too tired to blink, Lila was still able to.

Klaus being about to hit the ground, but being caught by ghosts. Another show of his powers and how great they can be.

And of course, Five being the dumbest most idiotic person and pushing a 300-pound Luther out of the way of falling bricks. Luther literally survived a chandelier being dropped on him without a scratch. However, I do know that Five doesn't truly know that, so fine. But still. His love for his siblings makes him dumb.

Another thing about Five. He was too tired to blink with Diego, but then he goes and fights Lila, blinking around the room. There's 2 logical reasons he's able to do this. 1 being, he's had enough rest that he isn't tired anymore (though 2 minutes barely feels like enough time), or 2, he's running on adrenaline now. Out of fear. For himself and his family. He sees Allison dying, thought Luther was going to die (supposedly) by the bricks, etc. He's mad and confused, and he's afraid. He won't admit it, but he is. I'd like to believe it's the latter. That he's running on adrenaline. It just makes more sense.

Okay, hold on..

It seems I have remembered things wrong..?

The siblings are just now figuring out that Lila is "one of them". Klaus says, "Eh, but there were only 7 of us." Somenwhere somehow, my brain went to the hargreeves siblings knows that they are 7 of 43 gifted children born on the 1st of October 1989 from women who were not pregnant when the day began. I assumed that Reginald Hargreeves told them so. However, here, the siblings say that he never told the full truth. That they should consider the possibility of there being more of them out there. Meaning they didn't know about the other 36 children.

I went back to the first episode. To rewatch Sir Reginald's speech after the bank heist. And he says, "Our world is changing. Has changed. There are some among us lifted with abilities far beyond the ordinary. I have adopted six such children. I give you the inaugural class of The Umbrella Academy." So here, he hints that there are more "powered" people out there. However, the siblings now seem to not know that. So Reginald, either gaslit them, and/or they blocked that out. They're kids, so right now, all they're thinking about is the hundreds of people in front of them. The news cameras. The people they just saved and those they killed. The victory of their assumed first mission.

Can we talk about the amazing lines in just 30 seconds?

Luther saying "Love shouldn't hurt this much." Diego saying "I know what it's like to love dangerous people. Difference is... they love me back." Him saying that they can be her family if she let's them. Lila pausing to look at the others, and they all smile at her!! Like they truly will!!?

And then, dang, I did not remember The Handler just killing everyone so quick.

What's so sweet is Lila saying, "They're my real family." To the one she's called mom for so long. She's calling them family after she just tried killing all of them.

It's also sad how I'm sure Five is using his very last energy to go back in time. "Seconds. Not decades." He's dying, a gun pointed st his face, and his father's words echo in his head. And he uses that.

So much can change in a matter of seconds.

He saves his family with the last ounce of hope and will he has. Successfully.

Oh, and may I just say. With how accident prone and apocalypse prone, the siblings are, they should've known to take an extra briefcase. Just in case, ya know?

Cause yeah. "Shit" is right.

So Dorcas, Reggie, and Remus all get together in the library and study. Sometimes they don’t even talk at all, but they love it because of the company. But they’ll also talk about some of the latest gossip at Hogwarts. It goes like this:

Reg: Remus, can you pass me that quill?

Remus: Oh yeah, here.

Dorcas: Did you know that one 1st year Ravenclaw burst his inkwell trying to get a quill out with his wand?

Remus: Amateur, he needs to practice his incantations.

Reg: I think he’s pathetic.

*all of them go back to studying and then every 10-15 minutes a small conversation strikes up*

Sirius, Marlene, and James all head out to the Quidditch practice field and just goof around. They will fly upside down on their brooms and watch as the others cry laughing. Something like this:

*Marlene riding her broom in a circle faster than the speed of light*

Sirius: MARLENE YOU LOOK LIKE A DONUT

*Marlene falls to the ground and gets up only to bang her head on a wall, much like a loony tunes character* James is on the grass dying of laughter, not even able to get up because that’s how hard he laughed.

So, Pandora and Pete head down to the lake and just talk about whatever’s on their mind. I could imagine a conversation almost like this:

Pete: Have you ever thought about why butter flies aren’t made of butter?

Panda: Yeah, I always thought that was sort of weird.

Panda would never make Pete feel foolish or stupid when he says something, but instead she actually adds her own thoughts and inputs to it.

Evan and Lily are both prefects and whenever they’re done with duty, they’ll go to the Marauders’ dorm room and sneak chocolate frogs out and eat them while talking to each other about the shenanigans they went through that day, something like this:

Lily: This 1st year hufflepuff was almost transfigured into a table!

Evan: No way, I think it was the 3rd year Slytherin that probably did that… you know, the one with a shining charm on his Slytherin patch?

Lily: He is so annoying, always talking about how many quidditch brooms he has at “daddy’s mansion.”

Evan laughs at her impression of the kid.

So yeah that’s how I think their conversation goes.

Next, we have Mary and Barty. Mary just does her makeup and Barty watches in awe as eyeliner perfectly laces her eyes. One day Mary notices him watching and asks him if he wants to wear it, Barty nods. Ever since then, Mary always does Barty’s eyeliner. He doesn’t wear is often, but when he does, it makes him feel powerful. She also is his kind of personal therapist? Here’s how it goes:

Mary: Stop moving, love.

Barty: Sorry. Mary: Love, you need to stop saying sorry for everything. You’re perfectly alright.

Barty: Mhm.

Barty looks at himself in the mirror and is stunned with how beautiful he looks. Evan comes back from prefect duty (and eating chocolate frogs with Lily) and practically faints.

All of them have these little things that they do together, most of the time the others don’t even know that they do it because that’s their little thing that they want to keep secret.

It had been a week since Amaka got her powers. The one thing she can say about it is actually pretty cool.

She could walk on walls, she didn’t need to use her glasses, she could actually open up jars (Dick tights them way too much), she was able to cut her mile time in half, she was lowkey starting to love the fangs, her reflex came in handy since she was clumsy, she could shoot webs out her hand which allowed her to grab stuff across her bedroom, and she had this six senses thing that told her something bad was going to happen. She called it spider-sense.

This whole thing got her thinking she could make a good hero? A hero Bruce would be proud of? A hero that even Damian would be jealous of?

“What are you thinking about?” A voice said.

She was soon knocked out of her head and back into reality, 1st period AP biology. She had the class with Ram and Francesca ( she picked up that everyone can Francesca Frankie). She became friends with the duo right after the field trip.

She didn’t know if the due considered her friends, she only talked to them during class and waved at them in the hallway. Sometimes she would talk to them after school when Alfred was stuck in traffic.

“Nothing, I’m just tired,” Amaka said. “Didn’t sleep enough.”

“Same thing here. Wait did you hear about this-” Frankie said. It was another thing Amak picked up about Ram and Frankie. Their conversation moved fast.

One of them always changed the topic in less than a second which is confusing sometimes. They also liked to talk when the teacher is talking.

“Ram and Francesca!” Mrs. Rosemary yelled. “You two lunch detention, for talking in class. After multiple warnings.”

They also got in trouble with Mrs. Rosemary a lot.

“Come on Kamila, this is the third time you sent us to lunch detention, this month,” Ram said. “Take it easy.”

“Did you just call me Kamila, you don’t call your teacher by her first name.” Mrs. Rosemary took a long breath. “Ram, meet me outside.”

“He always has to make things worse for himself.” Frankie giggled. “Watch him get another referral”

“Amaka, can you stay after class?” Mrs. Rosemary yelled. “I have something I need to discuss with you.”

“What did you do, Miss Goody two shoes?” Ram asked.

“I don’t know,” she sat there thinking. “Maybe it was the assignment I turned in but it was 30 seconds late.”

“This is why I called you Miss Goody two shoes,” Ram said.

Actually, what did I do? I agree with Ram saying to Miss Goody two shoes because I'm actually an amazing stud-

The bell rang and with that, all the students left including her two friends who ran to the lunch line.

Amaka being asked to stay after class was one of her worst fears. She slowly approached Mrs. Rosemary, hoping for something to happen. Like telling her it was a mistake and she was good to go.

If I’m in trouble, what would Bruce think?

“Amaka, we need to discuss your friends of choice.”

Oh, I’m not in trouble. But discussing my friends seems worse, I guess.

“I don’t want to do this but Ram and Frankie aren’t the best choice for friends.” Rosemary took a deep breath in. “They seem pretty nice kids most of the time but they can be troublemakers. Nothing good will come out of being their friend.”

The girl somehow made it to lunch.

As usual, she had a homemade lunch provided by her favorite butler. A sandwich, orange slices, a bag of sour cream and onion chips, and a small apple juice.

Amaka had the same lunch routine, make her way to the door to the library, then she would sit down and eat her sandwich first, then would start doing any homework she had, eat her orange slices, then drink her juice, lastly, she spent the last 10 minutes of lunch going to the bathroom than using her phone.

But it was different today. She spent most of the lunch thinking about what her teacher said about her friends. Not talking to Ram and Frankie would mean she would have no one to talk to. They were literally the only people she talked to even if it was just for one period. Amaka decided it was a good time just to relax and bite and stop thinking about her friends.

She decided to pick up her sandwich, and the moment she took a bite out of her sandwich, her brother appeared.

Damian Wanye, the blood son.

It was four words she could use to describe the boy: smart, arrogant, rude, and violent.

Emphasize the violet part. She was pretty sure the boys got into at least 3 fights on school grounds this year and they haven't even finished the first semester. Amaka didn’t know if she should pretend not to notice him or give him a small wave. He was with his friends.

He is my brother, I should try to be polite.

So the girl summoned all her strength to wave at him.

He saw me and continued walking.

He made eye contact with me and continued walking.

He continued walking.

He is her brother but he didn’t stop but continued walking.

He won’t give me the time of daylight but gives it to his fake friends who only talk to him because of the fact Bruce is his dad.

She didn’t even realize that tears started to come out and made her sandwich wet.

Notes: Low key, not the best chapter I wrote but not the best, sorry guys. Amaka had her power for a week so that means 2 more weeks until we get to her hero phase properly in a few more chapters.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I can't help but think that by ignoring the rumours of bastardy Viserys was protecting ALICENT.

Protecting Rhaenyra is actually relatively easy. There is a lot of misogyny and it seems unfair to me that Rhaenyra was not part of the discussion of the names of her children, but at least it points out that Corlys and Laenor, the head of the family and the "cuckold", saw those kids, with the wrong hair and nose, and said, oh yeah, Velaryons for sure. And in the case of Viserys there is the moment where he sits with Jace.The show goes much further with Corlys naming Luke heir and refusing to question his legitimacy. Many have already pointed out how legally those boys were declared legitimate by all the necessary people in both the book and the show.

But questioning the legitimacy of those children, especially without proof, IS treason , and neither Viserys nor Rhaenyra hesitated to punish that. The only exception in both is ALICENT. Whether it was her or those close to her Viserys essentially buried his head in the sand. Whether through inaction or out of love for her other children or Alicent herself, the queen's court was allowed to get away with spreading rumours that cost others their tongues (at best). TG likes to go medieval (without recognizing how legal recognition was more important than biological truth) Saying that Rhaenyra was reckless and spoiled by having bastards and never suffering consequences, But aren't Alicent's actions against Rhaenyra reckless, and didn't Viserys allow that to go without consequence at the cost of diminishing Rhaenyra's influence?

In the books it is Rhaenyra who is sent away from the center of power to lead the party in peace (even bringing Otto back to be his hand instead of Rhaenyra) and in the show he allows Alicent's participation in the council, the humiliation of Rhaenyra and lets Alicent have the last word instead of accepting Jace and Helaena's marriage.

Someone got away with it beyond what her position should have...And it's not Rhaenyra

Well, Viserys was definitely protecting Rhaenyra and her sons when he ignored the claims of bastardry--just saying that they are not bastards is protecting them and his own interests in keeping Rhaenyra'-his own reputations intact, making sure his chosen heir stays as his heir, his decision about the line of succession, along with the peace that could have been undone worse by an exposure of the boys' parentage that in turn protects his own succession choices. While Corlys and Laenor have said/done those which you say, anything they or Viserys do afterward in response to anyone who say they aren't Laenor will always be and was them protecting Rhaenyra, themselves, and those boys.

Having a queen consort, the mother of princelings, try to disrupt that is not a good look for the royal dynasty, at least conventionally. And yes, it is treacherous in this system, which is why Alicent never, ever says her kids are bastards directly and plainly as she wants. It is because she is so close that she can't be handled like they handle those they cut the tongues out of, plus she's also too connected to those who patronize the Faith of the Seven and have had that wealth, power, and prestige for centuries. who have had High Septons come from them before and will likely continue to. So while yes, Viserys seemed to have cared for Alicent enough to want to protect her just for being his bedmate and wife for a while, these are other reasons why he'd and most kings not want to treat her like others.

After the fall of KL, Rhaenyra could have killed her off, but she'd be criticized for it. Killing the stepmother versus killing one's siblings who currently are trying to depose you are treated separately. Even when said Dowager queen stepmother enabled it in the 1st place. For Rhaenyra esp, she'd be reviled even more bc she, as a woman, cannot and was not favored for participating in the masculinized campaign of direct warfare or just doling out violence against those who esp did not, as a woman themselves, did not direct soldiers in "real" battles or such.

We see towards Alicent's end that not even the regents of Aegon III wanted to execute her because of her dowager title--it's not socially considered "good" , moral, or "necessary" to kill off a dowager/consort queen.

1st Shredder: Oroku Saki He was a warrior in ancient japan but ended up making a deal with a demon that corrupted his mind (he wanted to rule the world. womp womp.) hes known as demon shredder, tengu shredder, the one true shredder--the list goes on. there ends up being a huge fight at the end of s5 where he turns into a dragon, then the turtles turn into dragons, so theres this huge dragon fight and its rlly rlly cool. even tho s5 is one of my least rewatched seasons, i fight tengu shredder very interesting

2nd Shredder: Utrom Shredder (utrom is an alien species) who is called Ch'rell. hes the one we see all the time. the one that never fucking dies. i mean, srsly, he always ends up finding a way to come back. he escaped utrom captivity (hes an intergalactic war criminal) and landed on earth, where he took the name of Oroku Saki. before we know hes an alien (hes piloting a human robot body) we legit see leo cut his head off, then later see him just get up, pick up his head, and walk away. then its revealed next season hes an alien. but when i tell u little me was very surprised he also came back for the movie, turtles forever (it ws a crossover between the 03 and 80's turtles). i havent watched it in forever so i cant remember if he died or not. i hope he did cuz omfg he cannot keep cheating death like that

3rd Shredder: Karai She's his adoptive daughter. shes... kind of a wild card. sometimes she helps the turtles, sometimes she doesnt, sometimes she'll stop her father's plans, sometimes she'll help. most of the time shes on her fathers side tho. but after he dies or is banished or whathaveyou then she takes up the mantel. i love her and i hate her. sometimes i wanna give her a hug and other times i want to wring her neck

5th Shredder: Cyber Shredder ch'rell was smart and put a copy of himself into a protected lil box in cyberspace and regularaly updated it in case anytihng happened to him. so when the turtles come back from the future (thats s6 my beloved. thats a whole other thing) Viral, a sentient virus (also a whole other thing) follows them to the past (she also blasts spinter into tiny cyber bits and they spend the season trying to gather them all up again. ALSO a whole other thing) and goes into cyber space to hide. finds shredders lil box, notices the power of it, and tries to break in. but shredder has firewalls so he kinda just absorbes her. and that activates him. so when the turltes go into cyberspace, they gotta fight him. he also ends up becomes real again during april and caseys wedding (ALSO A WHOLE OTHER THING) (splinter also comes back that epsidoes. surprise u have a body again, now put this suit on we r at a wedding) but they kick his ass and he goes bye bye

Shredder clones these guys show up for one episode then get destroyed. they also arent technically clones. it was in a synopsis that said they weren't, which makes sense since if they were then they'd be utrom as well. best guess is ch'rell maybe did smth with og shredders dna, or maybe he just had stockman throw dna together until they got smth shredder-esque. either way, they're freaky

and thats all the shredders! anytime i go to explain 2003 to someone and i get on the topic of shredder, i have to go "okay so, this might get a lil confusing-"

Ashi’s always been the younger sister. Always at least 8 years younger than her immediate family, babied by all her cousins, and often treated as the youngest in school friend groups. Due to her age, of course. A birthday like June 5th didn’t help, finally catching up to other kids at the end of the school year. Everyone around her was older, and that always set her in the role of the youngest.

It was like tradition. Something you’re unable to break— “Would you mind babysitting Ashi while I’m gone?”, “Are you sure you can stay home by yourself?”, “Here, let me get this for you.”— An unbreakable curse. No matter what she did, how she tried to prove herself, it would just result in her being seen as stupid or incompetent, and she’d be back in the high chair.

It gets old at some point.

One day, she visited her cousin Kazunari Miyoshi, and heard of his debut in the new MANKAI company. Ashi wanted to show all her support to her favorite cousin, of course, so she bought a ticket as soon as she could. She sat in her seat, within in the sea of observers, and didn’t expect much except an outstanding performance. But that play— seeing Kazunari as Aladdin, alongside Tenma Sumeragi as Alibaba— it opened her eyes.

Seeing the star actor, known for his cool roles, acting in a comedy was such a breath of fresh air. Seeing her cousin, who she knew was more that what met the eye, say his thanks to the audience in such a genuine tone...

It helped her realize that acting was a way to escape from your usual persona and try something new. To branch out to different aspects. To be someone other than yourself. A chance to prove that you were more than what met the eye.

Ashi wanted that. More than anything.

Once she left the theater, she immediately started on her new journey. To find people who accepted her for who she truly is, and to see past what she seems to be. To find people who want to know her, to find a group where she feels she really belongs.

She found that auditioning for troupes around her area was the best way to go about it. If Kazunari can do it, why can’t she? So every week she visited a new troupe, giving her best, most dynamic audition to the directors. Sometimes she’d make the cut, but it didn’t matter anyways. Because again and again, she was merely casted as the background comedy character. The one you kill off, laugh over, and don’t bother to think about.

But MANKAI’s Summer Troupe plays helped her through all the failures, and every play and character she admired grew her passion for acting more and more. Seeing every actor’s happy face as they bowed and said heartfelt thanks for their standing ovation only made her dreams more powerful.

One day, she wishes she can become the shining star who blows everyone away.

One day, she wishes she can be something other than just a kid.

One day, she wishes she can prove herself to the world.

TRIVIA:

—Ashi’s cousins to Kazunari! She’s the second youngest within her two families, with Futaba trailing behind just a little.

—She’s bilingual, knowing both Japanese and English (due to English being her first, she writes her name in English for her signature, left of her name on the introduction page).

—Ashi was born and raised in North America. However, her mom’s side of the family lived in Japan, so they would visit Japan every Summer for a long period, allowing her keep in touch with both areas. At age 12, she decided to stay in Japan permanently with her brother, who decided to stay for business reasons. She wanted to stay so that she could seek out more theater troupes along Veludo Way. In the story, her family is often mentioned as being overseas, so her older brother acts as her guardian. When she moves into the troupe, he enlists Kazunari to keep an eye on her when he can’t.

—Ashi’s two catchphrases are “Super Hype!/Hypesies!” and “Tehepero!” (referenced to in her doodle, top right of the introduction page).

—Ashi’s a part of a troupe called “Terugumi”, a reborn troupe (much like MANKAI) that’s one of the many acting troupes along Veludo. When the Terugumi story begins, it takes place after Act 2, before Act 3.

—She genuinely can’t stay awake past 12. Ashi becomes a completely different version of herself and loses all her energy, always having to hold onto someone. Kazunari brings up the memory of when they were younger, when Ashi survived off a churro at a theme park, confident she was going to make it till closing, before she passed out an hour before the park closed.

—She’s often the “little sister” with everyone she hangs out with. Ashi mainly hangs out with Kazunari, Tenma, Banri, and Azami. They all see a part of themselves in her, which leads to them getting attached easily.

—In Year 1 of MANKAI, Azami actually saved Ashi from getting jumped when she ended up lost, going the wrong way. Ever since he saved her and simply gave her his name, she always has an eye open for her “knight in shining armor”, asking around for a guy who she calls “Azami, the dark haired cutie”. She eventually gives up once she can’t find him at her junior high, but has a small sliver of hope.

—When she finds Azami again, she immediately wants to befriend him and get to know him, causing them to become fast friends and besties.

—She’s a hopeless romantic (runs in the family!)

—She raps often with Homare and Azami. They have a group chat that they barely use, and every once in a while she pops in to ask for a rhyme.

—Ashi is hilariously bad at freestyle, and runs out of rhymes quickly, but when given a solid set of lyrics she sings them super smooth.

—Ashi uses Kazunari’s nicknames for almost all of the members. The only weird exception is Juza, who she refers to as “Hyodo”. No one knows why, but it’s assumed by most that it’s due to Banri’s influence. She switches between nicknames and not-nicknames for Kazu, Tenten and Azamin. Banri’s the only one who she calls fully by name.

—She’s terrified of Chikage.

—Being called a “kid” is the biggest insult and middle finger you can give her. In her mind, being called a kid is like being called stupid, incompetent, pathetic, and everything in between. She thinks this because it was often used as a derogatory term when growing up.

—Despite being straight, she happens to attract a LOT of girls. She has a fan club a short while after she starts attending Terugumi (which is mostly girls), and girls at school have tried to pursue her at school as well. She dreads having to let them down, and feels like her charisma can be a curse at times. (“Ehh... Sometimes I wish the chocolates I get on V-Day were given by a bunch of guys instead...”)

KAZUNARI

“Ashi, your latest inste post was super adorbs! ♪”

“Thanks Kazu! Learnt all my tricks from the expert~”

From a first glance, the cousin relationship seems more like a twin one, as they’re both excitable inste obsessed artists who can’t stop talking. But overtime, it becomes apparent that Kazunari watches over Ashi with a careful eye— They’re awfully close. It’s due to the fact that Kazunari sees a part of him in his little cousin, when they draw together in his dorm room, or when they have late night talks over the phone. His older brother instincts can’t help but kick in when he interacts with her.

He enjoys watching her grow and experience new things, especially since he can see her so much more now due to them being in local troupes. Kazunari can’t help but get a little overprotective at times, though. She’s his favorite little cuz, after all!

“Kazu! Mind hanging out with me at the mall today?”

“Bet, let’s do it! Hey, it’ll really help with my charming older bro image, don’tcha think?!”

TENMA

“Tenma… Would you mind buying this kpop album for me…? I’ll promise I’ll pay you back!”

“Sigh, what else should I expect from you at this point…”

The relationship between the two cocky O-High kids doesn’t really bloom (get it) until Kazunari mentions a resemblance between the two. At first, Tenma’s insanely confused. How could you compare him, a worldwide actor, to some 14 year old?! It takes a little clearing up to make him nod his head and quietly agree.

Kazunari notes that both of them are people who put up a strong and tough front, but in reality are just a couple of scaredy cat sheltered kids without a good idea of fun. After a couple indirect conversations, Kazunari decides to get them to start hanging out. Tenma at first is absolutely bewildered at her hyperness (more than Natsugumi, somehow) and finds it hard to talk to “kids these days”, and Ashi freaks over hanging with a celeb, but Tenma loosens up after she shares her admiration for the actor.

At some point, Tenma has to agree and say that he does see a little bit of himself in her too. He doesn’t know when— but the initial annoying feeling she gives turns into something sweet. Watching horror movies with her becomes comforting, and hiding in the blankets doesn’t feel so lonely anymore.

”O-Oi, Ashi, who turned off the lights?!”

“I-I dunno! But I’m totally fighting whoever it is! For more banger movies from Tenma Sumeragi to come! COME AT ME!”

BANRI

”Hey Ashi, you think you’re finally old enough to fist fight me?”

“Oh-Ho! You are ON!”

At first meet, Banri calls Ashi a little kid. It ends up in a fistfight in the MANKAI lounge, which has to be broken up by both Natsugumi and Akigumi. A great way to start a friendship, isn’t it?

It’s through riling up Ashi that Banri finds out she’s also a thrill seeker who’s looking for something new. Not to mention, multi-talented, just like him. It’s rare that you ever find a kid like that, and even rarer that you find a kid as fun as Ashi. Through this little banter relationship, Banri starts taking Ashi out to do different activities— Wood carving, arcades, shooting arrows— Anything new in attempts to give them a thrill. It’s through all the challenges that the yells of “YOU SUCK!” turn into laughs, even if insults still trail behind.

It’s refreshing to meet someone with the same struggles who’s willing to solve them with you. Banri doesn’t know when, but at some point it feels like he has two sisters instead of one. And Ashi can’t help but feel like she’s gained another older brother. NEO finally has a secret weapon to rival Taruchi.

“...Ashi, did you notice that Itaru’s streams have been mentioning someone named ‘Lil NEO’?”

“NOOOO! Don’t tell me I have to be associated with you on social media now...!”

AZAMI

“Hey Azamin, I found this unused eyeshadow palette at my house! You think you can use it?”

“Pfft. Is this your way of trying to get me to do your makeup again?”

Azami and Ashi are both the youngest members within their companies, and it’s definitely something they bond over often. They both have issues and hate being referred to as a kid, so during their makeup sessions, where Azami, the pro makeup artist, happily does makeup for Ashi, the pretty one who doesn’t know anything outside of skin care, they often rant and talk about annoyances within their troupes. Ashi finds it comforting that someone’s willing to listen to her seriously, and Azami finds it comforting that there’s someone else who feels the same way as him. Due to this, Ashi often comes by for Azami to test out new makeup products, since she always trusts in him and his magical skills.

Especially when they reconnect a year or two after Azami saves Ashi, Ashi can’t help but admire and fawn over Azami. “You’re so cool, Azamin! You can fight, do makeup, AND slay in every way?! You’re amazing!”, are things she says often. Azami gets a little flustered at how touchy and affectionate she is, but he can’t help but soften up after a while. Hugs are okay. Hugs are good. It feels nice gaining one from someone who looks up to you so much.

Despite their different aesthetics, the two really aren’t that different. As they hang out more and more, walking home from school, hanging out at the dorms, going to cafes, they quickly become best friends and always enjoy each others company. Ah, well, maybe they enjoy each others company a little more than they’d like to admit.

“Azami, your skills are for REAL magic! Like, you’re insane when you’re holding a brush like that...!”

“...Magic, huh? Heh. Thanks, Ashi.”
