Tv lesson of the day: don't cast a regular actor to play a gym bro in your superhero media. Especially not when you've got actual body builders playing your super heroes.
Or, I started watching Stargirl and episode one introduces your friendly (read slightly creepy) neighborhood gym owner. Now I'm here for Lou Ferrigno jr though and that guy looks like Lou wouldn't need both arms to lift him which makes him talking about how another character needs to build muscles way more funny than probably intended.

Um, hey! This shouldn't have to be said, but don't go and harass the actors because you don't like what their character did or something about S4 or S4 in general! They aren't responsible for the plot or for their character's actions, they just play that character
Be fucking respectful

I feel like people behind the motion capture never get quite the respect they deserve. Like yes Bradley Cooper did amazing for the voice for Rocket but let's not forget that the actual movements are all done by Sean Gunn. He's just as much as Rocket as Bradley is. Did the voice for Young Rocket too. Oh your heart broke at that "hurts..." line? Blame Mr Sean Gunn.
Also it's why we have this iconic image.
*editing to add* he didn't do the baby Rocket voice, but anything after that is all Sean Gunn!

despite this just being a stupid tv show something that is actually baffling and genuinely concerning to me is the rampant anti-intellectualism and serious pushback against thinking critically about what we're consuming. any sort of negative response, criticism, or even expressed desire to see something different is written off as entitlement. wondering at the writers' intentions or wishing they'd gone about something a different way or disagreeing with them or thinking about a story differently from its creators is being hostile and demanding. don't consider subtext or symbolism or themes or really anything other than what's being put right in front of you because that's delusional. the characters are just characters and the writing is just writing and the show is perfect the way it is because the product is what its makers wanted it to be and as the audience you're supposed to just sit and bask in it without having any real opinion other than "yay! love it! thank you!" like can we get real please. what is even going on anymore

hii i love your iwtv fanart i think it's so cute but i think you're coloring louis and armand's skin too light which makes it hard to enjoy as a poc
first of all thank you for this feedback! i genuinely appreciate when people tell me these things cuz i worry a lot about drawing characters accurately and want to get it right. here i’m gonna go over my own drawings and point out what i think looks right and what doesn’t in my own work
i feel like my armand drawings look fairly accurate ? here is (i’m pretty sure) every time i’ve drawn armand:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
obviously a persons skin tone looks different in different lighting, but just by eye rn, i feel like the colors i’ve used have been a pretty good overall estimate for the actor:
Tumblr media
with louis i feel like i see what you’re saying (my drawings vs references of actor):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i think it matches a few of the reference photos, but others look very different, so i need to find a better all around match.
another issue i’ve noticed in my work is that since i use a watercolor texture for all my coloring, i can end up with the same color looking completely different within one drawing. see these comics:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in the first comic armand’s skin tone changes from panel to panel or even face vs. hand (his jacket and hair change color too, but skin tone is the most important imo since the viewers eye goes right to a characters face) and in the second comic i think louis’s skin tone changes completely between the first and second panels to a degree that’s very noticeable, i really should have caught that.
lately i’ve been trying to be more careful about double checking the watercolor layers to see that all the coloring matches better between panels, so that should help some.
finally, are there any specific drawings you think stand out as either colored accurately or inaccurately? you don’t have to respond, but since you reached out, feel free to tell me what you think works and what doesn’t (this goes for other people than anon too)
again thank you for the feedback, as it is very valuable to hear!

It’s disability pride month what’s your a3 disability headcanons, I’ll start
- Chikage is Deaf (most loss in his left ear) and uses hearing aids
- Hisoka is legally blind (fully blind in his left eye) and has some hearing loss too
- sakyo uses a cane (he hates Mankai’s stairs and is saving up money to make it more accessible mostly for the others bc he doesn’t think about himself first 🙄)
- most of the furniture is easy to tap on and feel the vibrations so those deaf/HOH can pay attention when needed
- the benches and chairs in the courtyard have removable cushions so they’re easier to sit on for a long time (and can be removed during rainy season
- Tasuku signs during his performances sometimes just for the front row deaf audience members to understand, could range from a joke to something more emotional
- they also do have sign language interpreters at the front
- one wheelchair that anyone can use (sakyo is also saving up money to get more)
- one of the practice rooms is used as the “silent” room for people who need to get away from the chaos sometimes or to blow off steam and only Izumi is allowed inside to check on them in case it’s ever anything worrying
I have so much more but ima stop here

the class commentaries in Hammer's Frankenstein movies are never particularly subtle
Victor is a wealthy man who abuses the bodies of the working class and disabled in every possible way, from literally using his position at a poorhouse to steal limbs and organs from the most vulnerable people in his community to preying sexually on his maid and orchestrating her death when he’s done with her.
he degrades every single person he entangles into a collection of useful parts and functions and does away with the rest, sinking to lower and lower means as the series progresses and he refines his science.
his monsters are never truly evil but he taints them through his own violence. the original monster's brain is irreparably damaged when Victor murders the man he’s stealing it from. and the second 'monster' is a disabled man, who flees from Victor's 'care' once he realizes that he’ll be toured and put on display like an animal.
the premise of Must Be Destroyed goes far beyond mad science shlock, as Victor inserts himself insidiously into the lives of a couple who are just trying their best to provide for a sick relative. he blackmails them and takes over their home, has them at his beck and call while they become all the more isolated and powerless to escape.
it’s a very natural progression of the previous films and I vaguely knew the premise but I was still really caught off guard by just how goddamn scary he is in this one

So I’ve been thinking…. It seems pretty apparent at this point that LFJ has not been updated to main character status as his fan cult insisted he would. I know that it’s early in filming and he will most likely be around at some point, but certainly not as much as they wanted.
To me, and I think many people in the fandom the writing for Buddie is on the wall. I don’t think journalists would be bringing it up, all the promotions would be involving Ryan, etc if it wasn’t that. There’s a lot of proof around already, showing us and reminding us that last season was setting up Buddie. But I don’t have to tell you that. I know you see it, too.
All that being said, when LFJ is inevitably either not on screen at all, or around for very few scenes and then dumped like the trash that he is, his fans are most likely going to revolt. I mean. They’re already kinda scary and way over the top. With him officially gone, I wonder what they’ll do…. So, do you think he should speak up and address his fans? Address what he did to cause all of this pandemonium? Or will he simply ignore it and move on? Because I worry if he isnt careful that these people will continue to follow his career and wreak havoc wherever he goes, which is just making him look bad. What do you think?
That's a really good question Nonny.
First, it's obvious to anyone with eyes that Lou was never going to get the main character status. This was something that only the radical BT stans believed anyway. 911 already has a lot of main characters and they often have trouble fitting all of their storylines in a single season. They aren't going to add any more main characters.
And even if they would, it certainly wouldn't be Lou. It would be Tracie or Anirudh. They have been on the show longer, have a bigger audience that loves them and they are very popular. The audience only got to see about 20 minutes of Tommy in season 7 alone. That's not very memorable. And yes, I know there was some Tommy in season 2 as well, but let's face it... no one remembered him. I know I didn't. I had to look him up.
I definitely see the Buddie-writing on the wall. It's all there. It started in season 2, but they ramped it up in season 7. The promo was crazy. And once again, they have started it up again. It's very focused on Ryan and Eddie right now, because his story will be the most important in order for Buddie to happen. Buck is already out of the closet. Everyone is just waiting for Eddie now.
I do think we have to brace ourselves for another few Tommy appearances in season 8. This story is too important to be messed up by one single guest actor. He will be there because that's what the story requires. Whether we like it or not, Tommy is a part of the Buddie storyline. He is the guy (read: plot device) that helped Buck out of the closet. Tommy has to play his part in order for Buck to get closer to seeing Eddie as a romantic option.
Do I want to see Tommy back? No, definitely not. Because yes, it will cause problems in the fandom. As soon as it becomes clear that Buck and Tommy aren't going to last very long, there will be those who will start yelling, shouting and generally start being obnoxious.
As for Lou speaking up? No, I don't think he'll even address them anymore. It's obvious that someone has talked some sense into him. It could be a joint effort by Tim, the show, his management, his friends, even the other show he frequently comes back to: SWAT. Whoever it was, they made sure he realised that a cult-like fanbase like that is not a good thing for his career.
So no, I don't think he will speak up. He'll continue to bury his head in the sand in the hopes this will all blow over and the hardcore Lou/Tommy stans will give up and move on. And really, I don't think there's anything else he can do at this point. Whatever he will say, will be misinterpreted and used against either him or other people, in this case: the cast of 911 and the more sane and normal BT and Buddie fans.
The only thing I think he should do, is publicly apologise for those very racist and bigotted instagram posts he made. Because it would only be right to do so and those posts really are a stain on his resume right now. It's all out there on the internet to find. But again, I don't think he will do any such thing.
And yeah, you're right. These radical fans might just follow him to whatever project is next. But ultimately, he is the one who created this problem in the first place, so maybe he should just reap what he sowed.

tim has literally said he had stopped writing buck and eddie together over fears of being accused of queerbaiting, and he's decided not to worry about that anymore, and yet still, the man can't write or say anything involving buck and eddie without people immediately yelling "canon b*ddie canon b*ddie", exhibiting the same behaviour that caused him to pull away from writing them in the first place

Timothy Dalton is how I imagine Chiron looks. Timothy Dalton as The Chief on Doom Patrol is just Chiron in human form. Look at this and tell me you don't see at least some kind of resemblance:

The fact that Temuera Morrison was supposed to be in s3 of The Mandalorian but he never got the call and was left waiting.....he deserves better, the character of Boba Fett deserves better, and we the fans deserve better. And here I thought my anger at the show would lessen now that the season is over.
