Fiyero Tiggular did not sing the entirety of Dancing Through Life — fear infested depression disguised as nihilistic warts and all — for so many to just write him off as the handsome but shallow popular guy

#guess who went to see Part 1 in theatres #seen one too many reviews and analysis that only mention that he’s hot and good at dancing and singing #one analyzer barely drew parallels between the lyrics and consciously staying ignorant under the rise of fascism #and like yes that is a big theme too but how are you not connecting the dots #the song doesn’t just exist to represent an important subject it is sung by Fiyero for a reason #it’s supposed to inform his character as well #just like Glinda isn’t really happy when she sings Thank Goodness but pretends to in order to keep up appearances #Fiyero sings this song to present himself as shallow and easy going instead of as downright unhappy as he is #ugh I know there are countless people who get this #I just wish the youtube essayists making 40 min + videos did too #fiyero tiggular #wicked the musical #wicked #wicked discourse #the potato rants in the tags

ribs by the crane wives is about catra in she-ra season five.

'the dark doesn't frighten me i chose to close my eyes/it is mine' horde prime lights up everything bright and clean. catra chooses to find solace in the shadows - she chooses to change. this is especially clear in 'corridors', when she stands between the bright light of horde prime and the dim corridor that the memory of her and adora is in. she chooses the darkness, chooses the safety - chooses the right path.

'the night doesn't frighten me i chose to let it thrive/it is mine' very few people trust catra when she returns. she has to be on the same team as shadow weaver. she has so many reasons why she could turn her back on everyone. she almost does. but she chooses to continue making the right decisions, chooses to endure despite everything. we see so many times throughout the series where she makes bad decisions, turns away from what she knows is the right choice. she tries to squash out the voice telling her to change - until she doesn't. until she makes the right decision and continues to do so. in some ways it was for adora. mostly, i'd argue it was for herself.

thursday are genuinely the PERFECT band for autistic people. well known enough to have a significant amount of information out there to research, but not so mainstream that they cannot be a niche obsession and they are aggressively self referential and have strong lyrical motifs so you can recognize patterns for DAYS
