Given the fact that Jin basically becomes the sole 'sponsor' of this year's Gala by helping its reinstatement through his promise to QUINTUPLE (!?) the amount of the prize money using money from his own (father's?) pocket, is it possible for all of Frostheim's general students to end up feeling more pressured to win this year because losing Laurel Crown to other dorms will put a shame to their name? 🤔
Like, your captain basically ensured that whichever the winning house is gets to receive five times the amount of prize money the academy (or Institute?) has ever provided to the winners of Laurel Crown, and something like this will probably never happen again in the future... if that's the case, won't you feel extra motivated to win now to show that you're appreciating your captain's contribution for such an extraordinary thing to happen? and to prove to other dorms that only the most privileged house captained by the sponsor himself deserves to get the Laurel Crown and keep the money away from those who don't deserve it? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
On related note, I wonder if Jin will ever, uh... exercise his right as sponsor to add extra rules or conditions to win the Laurel Crown? I don't think he will ever abuse his right as sponsor to add conditions that will put houses other than Frostheim at a disadvantage... but I won't put it past him to come up with something that will piss his father off require either the academy and/or Institute to provide accomodations for said conditions to be implemented.
(Chancellor Cornelius can be heard whining from inside his office because HE will be the one who needs to "pledge the case" to the Institute if Jin ever makes such a move *cackles*)

A OC fanfic. 1st chapter~♡ OC meets Kaito and is introduced to the academy!
Title: Sad Hello/Beautiful Goodbeye
First day♡
The end of another year means it’s time for a new adventure. The past few years haven’t done much to satisfy my craving for excitement. I’ve roamed the lively streets of London, explored the rich history of Germany, soaked up the vibrant culture of Brazil, and wandered through the ancient wonders of China, not to mention countless places in between. A hundred thousand miles across every time zone, and yet, here I am, still feeling a restless, empty, alone. At first, when the Institute asked for my help in capturing anomalies, I was exited. A witch working with them? That was unheard of, especially since we’re often seen as “volatile” and “unpredictable.” But as the months dragged on, the thrill faded, leaving me with the same old boredom.
“Next stop, Darkwick Academy, meow,” chirped a cheerful voice over the quirky metro intercom, pulling me out of my thoughts.
“Next stop indeed,” I muttered to the empty cabin, my voice bouncing off the metallic walls. “Maybe Tokyo will have something fun in store?” As the train came to a smooth stop, the doors slid open quietly, letting in a rush of cool, fresh air that smelled like damp earth. Stepping into the early morning fog that drifted across the platform, I headed toward the chancellor’s office. With the sun just starting to peek over the horizon, it seemed my only company today would be a surprisingly large number of cats. Some were carrying parcels, others had letters, and one, I was pretty sure, had a small drill tucked under its paws. Already, this was way more interesting than the sterile vibe of the Institute HQ. Where I’ve been rotting the past six months.
As I walked down the brick-lined road, a playful grey cat with bright green eyes dashed up to my feet, weaving around my legs. “Meow, meow!” it called, its collar jingling as a little note flapped in the breeze. Curious, I bent down and grabbed the note from its collar.
Mary,
I hope this note finds you well! Please meet me in my office so we can get you settled. I’m sure you’re exhausted from your travels. Our friend here will show you the way.
~C
I gave the kitty a scratch behind the ears, feeling a warm glow inside. “Lead the way, little buddy.”
“Meow!” it replied happily, darting off ahead of me.
And just like that, my first day at Darkwick Academy began.
By the time my meeting with Cornelius concluded, the sky bathed the academy in a warm orange hue, characteristic of my favorite early mornings. I navigated my way through clusters of students shuffling to their classes, occasionally catching an odd glance, but for the most part, I remained overlooked. Typically, my dark clothes and hair contributed to a background character vibe; however, my golden-rimmed green eyes often drew attention. I had never been one to crave the spotlight, unlike many of my sisters. The background suits me just fine.
As I focused on the rhythmic steps of my scuffed shoes, I made my way toward the old chapel Cornelius had mentioned. Counting the cracks in the brick-lined walkway, I was suddenly jolted to the side as a body collided with me. A blond boy’s face came inches away from my own, his wide green eyes staring down at me, his cheeks flushing a deep shade of red, nearly obscuring the freckles scattered across his face.
“OH MY GOD!” His loud exclamation startled me, prompting me to gently push him off. He scrambled to his feet clumsily, reminiscent of a fawn finding its legs. A small smile tugged at my lips. Though I could feel the disconnect between my feathers and my true feelings. It's safer to keep distance, goodbyes always come too soon. The boy was apologizing profusely, extending a hand toward me, which I accepted.
“I’m Kaito Fuji. I’m so, so sorry again. You aren’t hurt, are you?” He looked me over, and somehow, his cheeks seemed to redden even more. How cute.
“I’m quite alright, though I suggest you be a bit more careful in the future.” I glanced down at where his hand still held mine; his touch was pleasantly warm, not uncomfortable. Following my gaze, he quickly released my hand and held them up in a gesture of apology.
“Ah! Sorry again. Um,” he paused, clearly feeling awkward. “So, what’s your name? I don’t remember seeing you around before.” He offered a smile that mirrored the warm colors of the morning. I returned his smile, realizing that since I might be here for a while, it would be wise to play nice—at least to avoid potential enemies.
“Mary Baker. It’s nice to meet you, Kaito. You’re right; today is my first day at the academy. I hope we can get along well.” I put forth my best friendly smile. Kaito gasped slightly, and he seemed to tense up. Confused, I asked if everything was okay.
“Okay? Better than okay! How about I show you around? I’m free of classes right now anyway! We can even grab some lunch—my treat.” I nodded and we began walking together.
It seemed I had already made my first friend: Kaito Fuji.
Kaito led me to the dilapidated chapel, its squeaky floorboards groaning under our weight, while the boarded-up windows did little to enhance its charm. He insisted on going first, puffing up his chest and putting on a brave face that made me suppress a smirk. “It’s not so scary,” he declared, though I could see a flicker of nervousness in his wide eyes. “Just a little... character.” His cheeky grin was cute, but I couldn’t help feeling a twinge of amusement at his bravado.
As we climbed the stairs, I dropped my backpack at the top with a thud, the weight of it a reminder of my centuries of experience. “I’ll need to pick up some supplies soon,” I said, glancing at him with an arched eyebrow.
“Yeah, you definitely don’t want to run out of snacks or anything,” he replied, his voice playful. “A girl with a hangry mood? That’s a recipe for disaster!” He flashed me a teasing smile, his eyes sparkling. Very cute. Little does he know as a witch I rarely need to eat, but my identity is something best kept secret. Witch’s aren’t trusted among the few that know of our existence. For good reason, I suppose. The observations I was put through by the Institute for the past six months show how little trust they have.
I rolled my eyes, the corners of my mouth twitching slightly. “How noble of you to worry about my mood, Kaito. But I assure you, I’ve survived much worse than a lack of snacks.”
We hurried out of the chapel, the irony of a witch living in such a spooky place not lost on me. Kaito continued to guide me around the campus, his excitement palpable as he showed me the main building, classrooms, and even the teachers’ lounge. “And here’s the cafeteria,” he announced dramatically, arms outstretched as if revealing a grand prize. “Where all the best gossip happens! But, um, I might have a little hiccup…” He rubbed the back of his neck, cheeks flushing slightly. “I forgot my wallet.”
I couldn’t help but let out a dry chuckle. “And here I thought you were the brave hero of the day. It seems you’re just a boy who can’t keep track of his belongings.”
“Hey now, don’t go teasing me too much!” he protested, though the grin on his face betrayed his enjoyment of the banter. “You’re not going to let me starve, are you?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you get fed,” I teased, a smirk playing on my lips. “But only if you promise to keep that dimpled smile on your face. It’s quite charming, you know.” His face turned red.
“Ch-charming? Me?” he stuttered out and I couldn’t help but laugh.
We had a nice enough lunch, Kaito chitchatting animatedly about the different houses at Darkwick Academy. “So, there’s Frostheim, my house,” he began, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. “It’s full of mostly nepo babies—rich kids who think they own the place.”
“Sounds delightful,” I replied, rolling my eyes playfully.
“Then there’s Vagastrom,” he continued, a hint of disdain creeping into his tone. “We call them the ‘thugs.’ They’re tough, but honestly, I’d steer clear of them if I were you.”
“Noted,” I said, intrigued.
“Jabberwock is interesting, though. They run, like, an… anomaly safari,” Kaito explained, leaning in as if sharing a secret. “I’ll definitely be checking that out soon; it sounds like a blast.”
“Anomalies? Now that’s something I’d love to see,” I mused, my curiosity piqued.
“Hotarubi is another one,” he said, his voice brightening again. “It’s a house of artists. They’re all about creativity and expression.”
“And Sinostra?” I prompted, wanting to hear more.
“Ah, that’s the casino house,” he said, shuddering slightly. “And their vice captain, Romeo? Definitely someone to avoid. He’s a weird stalker,” Kaito grumbled, his expression reflecting genuine concern.
“And what about Mortkranken?” I asked, intrigued by the medical house.
Kaito shivered at the mention. “Ugh, don’t even get me started on the captain. Mad scientists are always a good time, right? Just don’t let them experiment on you.”
I chuckled, finding his reactions amusing. “And Obscuary? What’s the deal with them?”
“Honestly, I don’t know much about them,” he admitted, scratching his head. “You might want to investigate that one yourself. They’re a bit mysterious.”
“Sounds like I have my work cut out for me,” I said, a smirk playing on my lips. “Thanks for the intel, Kaito.”
Finally, we made our way to the convenience store, and I raised an eyebrow at the odd assortment on the shelves. The place had a strange mix of magazines and snacks, with far too many glossy covers for the amount of food. “Looks like they prioritize entertainment over actual meals,” Kaito remarked, picking up a magazine featuring a cat in oversized sunglasses. “What do you think? Should we get this for your ‘how to survive Darkwick Academy’ guide?” He held it up to his face, striking a silly pose that made me shake my head, both amused and exasperated.
As we wandered the aisles, I felt a mix of anticipation and amusement bubbling inside me. Maybe Darkwick Academy wouldn’t be so dull after all—especially with Kaito around.

Wow, I have so many followup questions! I guess with your first artifact you didn't really get chosen or choose each other at all huh. Just picked it up. Totally disillusioned with this place from the start, it sounds like lmao
Did it just not feel right in your hands? Or it wouldn't work for you? I hear Kaito's bow always seems to shoot in the wrong direction, was it something like that where its power was just. Not right? Was the paperwork for switching complicated? I know that there's a legal/regulatory thing with only having one artifact, so I figure swapping them out is. A pain in the butt.
But it's good that you and your scythe got to bond!! Did you ever ask Moby/Darkwick if the scythe was new or something? I wonder why it didn't reach out before if it was there. . . .
Gotta wonder about those nightmares too. . .if you remember, would you mind telling us about them?
((headcanons are exactly what I asked this question for! Thank you for answering it! I love all of the answers I've gotten so far. <3))
“So like- I kinda just grabbed something off the shelf and hoped it worked. It wasn’t the worst artifact. But the best way to describe it is like…” a low hum left as he contemplated his words carefully. A little click of the tongue and an, ‘ah!’ finger pointing up as a cheerful grin took over. He began to speak again, “It’s like buying new shoes. You accidentally get a pair that’s a little too big or too small. It just… doesn’t fit right and you can trip easier or your feet get sore. But when you get the right pair- the ones that just perfectly fit and mild to your feet… that’s what it’s like.”
“The one I had before was pretty much just a flashlight that let me ‘shine through walls’. Pretty neat in theory. But the ‘batteries’ were pretty much always dead or died fast. And it did look pretty cool. Like a baton.”
“Of course, missions felt pretty much impossible without a team to help. And I decided I needed to find something that would be more useful. I was hoping for like… some handcuffs or something, I guess?” He laughed at the thought of what his mind originally conjured up as the perfect artifact. “Buuuut! Here I am. It just- sorta became mine. I never did ask if it was new or not. But I guess that’s a good question.”
“As for the nightmares….” He would give a bit of a forced smile, a bit of regret flashing over. “It’s… hard to talk about, sorry.”

SUMMARY: The call to be a Pro Hero has never been a question—not for Katsuki Bakugou, explosive and guarded, nor for Izuku Midoriya, protective and determined, and certainly not for Shouto Todoroki, who’s family legacy hangs over him like a shadow. Years after the War that upended Hero Society, these three men have helped rebuild a path to Pro Heroism for the next generation, tentatively heralding a new era of hope. But there’s danger lurking in this rebuilt world, danger that has the power to rekindle old fears and usher in new resentments, and as the trio branch out to find and end these threats, they each encounter a new challenge along the way—colliding with someone unexpected, and falling in love.
(A Pro Hero x Reader Trilogy; in which falling in love is a random chance all at once chaotic and exhilarating and incredible, for each of the Big Three)
The premise is simple: three heroes, three fics, and three different lives to live. Named for the Katy Perry song, The One That Got Away, the In Another Life trilogy was originally intended to be a series of five stand-alone fics that evolved, fairly quickly, into what we have today: three interconnected stories that let our Reader-inserts move throughout the My Hero Academia world, and eventually find where—and who with—they belong.
Started in 2020 when the manga was still on-going, the fics have diverged from the canon Horikoshi’s given us both in small and large ways. Despite where they separate (and where the fics have to stay faithful to their own canon, now), it’s always been my hope that they read like the love letters they are—to My Hero, to the boys, and to x reader fic at large.
i’m running to your side—flying my white flag
1. surrender (whenever you’re ready) [Explicit] — ao3
93k+
Bakugou Katsuki x Reader
COMPLETED ✔️
SUMMARY: You first meet Ground Zero when he's thrown, unceremoniously, through the glass window of your florist shop.
(In which Bakugou cannot stand flowers but finds himself coming back, anyway)
i’ve been reading books of old—the legends and the myths
2. something (just like this) [Explicit] — ao3
203k+
Izuku Midoriya x Reader
COMPLETED ✔️
SUMMARY: It probably says a lot about you that your first thought on meeting Deku, international Symbol of Peace, isn't something like "Oh, wow," or, "Oh he's so nice," but is instead the un-Plus Ultra thought of, "I definitely would've bullied him, in high school."
At least until those muscles came in.
(In which Midoriya is an absolute nerd for the release of his own hero-inspired comic book series—and the artist responsible for it)
all your flaws and scars are mine
3. still (falling for you) [Explicit] — ao3
TDB
Shouto Todoroki x Reader
WIP 🕙
SUMMARY: The first time you and Shouto cross paths, he nearly drowns you.
(In which Todoroki meets a jeweller by the sea, and learns the difference between the value of the lessons he's been given—and the precious things he chooses to keep)

[ASK ❔] [SWYR] what would have been the moment bakugou knew he had it bad for surrender's reader?

This series is the result of several years worth of love and work, and most importantly, encouragement from the people who have come along and read the stories in it. 1, 22, 25 and (if you want) 7? ☺️
Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?
A mix of both! I daydream a lot when I'm doing idle work at home, or my job. I kind of turn scenarios over and around in my head and when I like it, I think about how I would translate that scene into words so other people can see and feel what I do. But when I land on a sentence, I have to write it down really quickly or lose it to the ether. Sometimes an idea hooks me and I have to write it immediately; most recently this is how I was with my published Finella/Mary Gargoyles fic, and before that my unpublished Thara Celehar fic for The Chronicles of Osreth series by Katherine Addison :)
22. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?
I usually title my fic during the writing process; it's relatively easy for me to come up with titles but sometimes I need to work on the story for a little bit in order to fashion it. I try to make my title a concentration of the fics central theme (longer work) or event (one-shot). For example, "Come to Me, and I Will Give You Rest," is about two women finding kinship and eventually romantic love with one another after living lives of hardship within their respective social classes.
"Orders of Service" (posting TDB) spans the years of 1988-2198 and OwenPuck's experiences with life, love, devotion, and death from both an immortal and mortal lens.
"The Eternal Child" (posting TBD) is an alternate timeline one-shot where Alexander and Puck were taken back to Avalon after the events of The Gathering Pt 1 + 2.
By contrast, I have an unnamed WIP alternating between the respective childhoods of Fox and David, filed under a folder named "The Childhood Series" and with silly throw-away title of "Dr. Spock: On Parenting a Megalomaniac." This one could be seen as a companion piece to "Orders of Service" because allusions are made to events in that fic, but out-rightly it's about David and his relationship with Petros 1960-1975ish, Petros and his relationship with his wife, Fox's relationship as an adult with Titania, and Titania's relationship with Fox as a baby.
25. What’s your favorite part of the writing process (worldbuilding, brainstorming/outlining, writing, editing, etc)?
My favorite part of the writing process is the writing - it feels so good to have a concept come to life with words that come from my own brain. This has always been one of my favorite parts of writing. I do enjoy brainstorming, because it's like an AMV in my head. But there is such a high to landing on the right flow of words to convey exactly what you are seeing and feeling in your head. Once I'm in the zone I can be in there for hours, building something and looking back and my work and appreciating what I've done so far.
7. Post a snippet from a wip.
This is a snippet from my 2198 WIP - the odds of it ever being published like how I envision are long, but I find it a very fun writing exercise to flesh out concepts like the Space Spawn and the science fiction aspect of alien tech / being in the year 2198. I'll post two snippets, both works in progress.
Snippet 1: (Context: This is from a Spawn perspective. I tried to make their concepts of self, identity, and communication alien while still being engaging. In my version of 2198 The Spawn are a mix of militocracy / theocracy, and have the ability to change their shape in detailed biological ways but cannot be exact physical copies of any one alien race; they are always Spawn. They are raised without the concept of individual identity unless very high up in the government, and typically communicate with each other telepathically)
The suspension chamber was a clean, edgeless void. The refractive index of the space was turned to maximum, as ordered. The light inside was pure, white, and familiar. The Spawn discovered long ago that the environs in which they thrived were often distressing to those who would resist them.
This subject was faring better than most. In the time it took for all the bio-enquiries, and between alterations, the subject had managed to find a corner. It wasn’t exactly a corner, of course, but as close as one could find in a suspension chamber. The subject kneeled where the slope of the floor began to curve into the slow slope of the ceiling, pressing it’s frons against the wall of light.
This proof of resource was amusing. A small impressiveness. This subject had directed a large number of subversives, after all. Some intelligence was obvious.
Praetorfect drew close to the subject’s side with the disabled limb. Deprived of its rudimentary prosthetic, the arm stopped abruptly above the middle joint. It was not likely the subject would resist or attack, but caution bred favorable contingencies.
Praetorfect cleared the throat. Using it was uncomfortable and undignified. But it was too high an expectation to hold that this fleshy race would perceive the insight of the Spawn. The synthesized mixture of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and argon slid back through the primary orifice and over the infolding of membranes that were suspended across the laryngeal cavity. There was no taste to it, because Praetorfect saw no need for taste buds.
“How are you feeling?” The voice was thin, quavering. It would suit the purpose even if Praetorfect ran out of patience on the pleura and respiration muscles.
Subject did not respond. It’s eyes remained closed. Praetorfect had spent years studying Earthling emotional expressions and psychological signaling when the planet was disclosed as the fleet’s next objective - this subject was neutral.
But it was awake.
The Bioficers were sure, Praetorfect was told.
“Feeling poorly?” Praetorfect answered for it. “That is understandable.”
Subject did not respond. The environment was cold - were humans prone to states of torpor?
Praetorfect had come here for answers to questions. Perhaps that could be one of them. The bioficers could help.
“You are a unique subject,” Praetorfect said. “Life on this acquisition was not thought worth studying, until you.”
Subject did not respond.
“We are happy we could put you back together again. We took you apart twice.” A pause. It was strange to think about drawing in air to make sounds. All of the languages here were ugly. Praetorfect continued making noise. “Do you know what isotopes are?”
Subject did not respond.
“There is an element common to - most - life in the galaxy. Your world calls it - carbon-14? There exists technology that can determine the age of biological organisms using the science of particle emission. This is combined with some knowledge of light speed mechanics on a subatomic level, and this is used to...the details are inconsequential. But you know the effects.”
The subject’s shoulders rose and fell in perfect time. Each of it’s breaths was no shorter or longer than the duration of the last. Praetorfect wondered if it had been broken, despite what the bioficers said.
That would make the inculcation problematic.
Snippet 2: (Context: This is an original alien character created for the fic interacting with Delilah. She's an odd-duck from a mainstream Spawn perspective)
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Because you are nice to look at.”
“Stop it.”
“Is it wrong?” A-Li was incorporating more tonal shifts and variation in her speech patterns. Usually she mirrored whoever she was talking to, regardless of what they were talking about. Her words came out hot. Delilah paused, scaling back her feelings.
A-Li had little hold on social nuance.
“It’s creeping me out,” Delilah explained. “Don’t you know that’s weird? I thought you were supposed to be an Earth expert.”
“It’s one thing to know. Another to experience.”
Delilah rolled her eyes. She supposed that made sense. But still.
Then A-Li said, “I wish I looked like you.”
No. Absolutely not. She turned fast enough to make the spawn skitter into the depths of her cell.
“If I come back here tomorrow and you’re wearing my face, I’ll rearrange it for you. This mug belongs to me, and me alone,” Delilah growled.
“You would rearrange my face? That’s so kind,” A-Li crept forward on hands and knees again, as was her wont. “It takes a lot of time and energy so I would appreciate the help.”

Happy FFWF! I know you’re getting busy soon, but I wanted to ask you how many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?
Hiiii and happy FFWF! I will always be down to talk about fic ideas! 😊 One idea that is in active consideration (which I've already mentioned in earlier FFWFs) is something that's related to The Dishonored Blade; all I'm going to say is that in my endnotes, I was open to writing either a prequel or a sequel (or both!) to this AU oneshot, and it's going to expand upon the AU I've built into the ATLA world from that fic 😁
Another idea, which is a WIP that has been sitting in my docs, is yet another AU in which Aang can see the spirits of the dead. It was inspired by an Into the Spiderverse fic I read on FF.Net, but honestly... it's just been sitting there for a while, and I'm not really prioritizing it as a fic to complete. I probably will, someday, but for now 🤷♀️
And for you, I shall share something from The Thing That Is Related To The Dishonored Blade:
Be careful where you trod, little Airbender. One wrong step, and you… will be mine.
#chocmd#ffwf#ffwf answer#answered#northern answers#technically the thing related to TDB isn't a WIP#but it's something i jotted down so as not to forget#anyways thanks for the ask!!

WIP INTRO / The Divinal Blow
WIP INTRO / The Divinal Blow
Title ➡️ “The Divinal Blow”
Genre ➡️ ya historical fantasy comedy
POV ➡️ third (omniscient)
status ➡️ outlining/planning
major themes ➡️ LGBTQ+ themes, found family, romance, healing, revenge, gods and their bullshit, anarchy, overthrowing corrupt leaders, love between a god and a human
Mors wanted to be done with love. After Bellum left him for his brother, he thought he was.
The strange Incan emperor had other plans, however, and they involved smooching the god of the underworld.
Tag list: none yet (let me know if you want added!)
Basic character info under the cut!
The gods:
Omnia - goddess of all. She makes true rules that the other gods must follow. Mother of Hominum, Sominum, Mors, Lepos, Domus
Nihil - god of all. He helps enforce the rules of Omnia, but cannot make them himself. He is in charge of punishing gods who don’t follow the rules. Father of Bellum, Sidus, Pecus
Mors- main character, god of the dead. Appears as a strange being with a skeleton mask. He can bring people back to life, as well as kill them on the spot, but bringing them back breaks the law of the gods. Bisexual. Owns a horse made out of rain clouds.
Hominum - Mors brother. He is god of humanity and also an asshole! Married to Bellum, goddess of war
Sominum - Mors sister. Goddess of dreams. Mors closest friend. She has to report to Hominum as instructed by her mother, but she often breaks this rule. Can send dreams to other gods. Owns a horse made out of wind
Lepos- god of charm/romance. Can make people fall in love. Very bitter because he’s gay and doesn’t have a partner while everyone else around him is getting married. Kind of an asshole at times
Domus- god of family. He spends his time finding homes for orphans or guiding them towards people he deems safe. Very sweet, but often falls asleep on the job, which allows people to fall into the wrong situations
Bellum- goddess of war. Used to be married to Mors, but left to be with his brother, Hominum, when their parents arranged it. She believes in duty over everything, and also always wanted to live in the heavens. The world often falls into chaos because she gets bored and causes problems. Also an asshole, though smarter than Hominum
Sidus - god of the stars. Big temper, throws around “falling stars” and “meteor showers” when pissed. An artist.
Pecus - goddess of animals, mainly domesticated ones. Funny, stubborn, but kind. Was disgusted when she firsts someone milk an animal. Lesbian farmer of the sky
The humans:
Roca - the emperor of the Incan empire. Doesn’t really like his job. Is often seen as “too nice” by his family/soldiers. Very gay and possibly nonbinary. Has a flower garden on his roof. Stubborn and determined. Has a thing for revenge, struggles with feelings of self worth at times. Kinda clumsy, rushes into things.
Coya - Roca’s twin sister who was born minutes after him. She’s bitter because she always wanted to rule but as Roca was born first, he got the throne. She’s very smart, very good at war tactics and can have a bit of an iron fist, but still cares for her people. She can be a bit on the spoiled side, like her brother, but it shows more for her because of her temper. She can be a bit of a killjoy at times, but means well, just doesn’t like joking around too often. Bisexual. Falls in love with Inkasisa.
Inkasisa - a woman arranged to marry the emperor. She is very much not interested in him, but cares very deeply for the empire and sees it as her duty. When she realizes he doesn’t want anything to do with her, either, she disappears and hides out in the village for a while until Coya finds her. They fall in love.
Guamen - the emperors main soldier. The emperor considers him family and vice versa. He is a very soft and sweet older man. It’s been suggest by the emperors men multiple times that they retire Guamen but he refuses for a long while, and when he does, he still visits him.
Pallas- Guamen’s wife. Very quiet and reserved woman. She handles the finances and animals while her husband handles household chores and ‘serving’ the emperor, which usually consists of getting paid for giving him fatherly advice.
