“Theo’s not going to do anything. You just said you’re the fighter.” Liam points out, and Theo doesn’t like that kind of baseless statement, feeling as if he needs to redeem himself somehow.

Liam gently places his wrist in front of Theo’s lips, quietly waiting for him to take his needed fill of blood, and he can’t bring himself to do it.

Not Liam. He’s too trusting and not worried about the possibility of Theo losing control. He can’t risk it, but his blood is sweet, making the vampire hungry, even in his weakened form.

He slowly closes his mouth around Liam’s wrist, sucking the blood slowly, and sighing at the first couple drops he takes.

“I’m mmm you did…on.” Theo grumbles, losing his thought and talking with a mouthful of blood.

“No talking while you're eating Theo. Rude.” Liam mutters, as he flinches when Theo sucks a bit too hard.

“He’s gotta be mad I was the one to kill —.” Boyd says, pleased with himself and ready to rub it in Theo’s face.

Several Sentences Sunday

Working away on the Christmas Carol fic and still planning to have it up before Christmas 🤞Here's another snippet!

A Kinley Christmas Carol

“Kinard, take a break, man,” Melton called out as he strolled up with a grin. “Leave a few chores for the poor probie or he’ll think we don’t like him.”

Tommy managed to muster up a smirk to shoot back at him. “You just want me to laze around with the rest of you so you don’t look bad.”

“I’m serious,” Melton said, lowering his voice as he got closer. “Relax and hang out with everyone for a bit. It’s Christmas Eve.”

As if Tommy wasn’t already well aware of that.

“Still a shift with all the usual jobs to get done. No different from any other.” Tommy dunked the mop back in the bucket, meanly satisfied when water slopped over the sides and forced Melton to take a step back. He kept his head down, willing the guy to walk away.

Swallowed back a curse when he didn’t.

“Listen, I know things have been rough with the bre—with everything, but we’re all here for you.” Melton drifted toward him again. “Why don’t you come over tonight?  The kids would love to see you and Ava’s already been texting, asking me to tell you there’s an extra plate set. What do you say?”

The offer poked at Tommy, prodding all the soft places he’d been trying to shore up—the patches that kept crumbling no matter how many ways he tried to smooth them over.

What did he say?

That he was tired of being the extra plate.

Tired of orbiting around families he had no real place in.

Melton and Ava were lovely people and their kids were awesome, but Tommy didn’t think he’d survive a night full of such kind-hearted pity.

Some Acolyte WIP’s I’ve been working on…

So, uh…

Remember that art thing I said I was working on?

Well…

It’s still pretty messy, but… Here you go.

ISAT-STYLE HAT KID.

Look at her! She’s so energetic! And not depressed! So unlike Siffrin!

She got that cape! And that umbrella! And her signature hat!

I think I did pretty well at capturing the ISAT art style. Certainly for my first time. A colored version does exist, but I’m saving that for another day, when I can post the finished versions. To talk about the art itself, I used Bonnie as my primary reference, since they’re the only one who’s not an adult. For example, Hat Kid has blush stickers and no nose shadow, since that seems to be a kid thing. I also borrowed Mirabelle’s rapier to get an idea of the perspective on the umbrella, which helped out a lot. I also decided to keep Hat Kid’s thicker upper eye line and her eyelash-thingies, since I feel they make her more distinctive from the other characters, in a good way. They’re also pretty satisfying to draw, not gonna lie.

For those of you who don’t know, this is part of me demo’ing an AU idea I had, called In Hats and Time. As you might guess, it’s a combination of In Stars and Time and A Hat in Time. (I just realized I could call it “A Hat in Stars and Time”, or “AHISAT”, but that’s a bit wordy.) I don’t have a story, like, at all. Not set in stone, anyway. But I do have a few ideas. I’ll probably post about it later.

AAHHH! I’m really excited to share this. It’s a new kind of art project for me, doing this kind of style swap, but I’m really liking how it’s going.

Edit: I should’ve done this earlier, but here is a similar drawing I did of Siffrin in the AHIT art style, also grayscale. Figured I should plug that.

"Bad night?", Mary May leaned against the bar, clearly sensing how off Sabrina felt despite her attempts to hide it, "What did Rookie do this time?" The certainty of the question won a surprised chuckle out of her, "Nothing. Cal's a gem. Just missing... home." Something about how busy the Spread Eagle was that night filled her with nostalgia over the regular late-night outings with her fellow Detectives back in Portland. She could almost imagine twisting her head and meeting Oliver's devilish gaze instead of making eye contact with the tired local that was occupying the seat next to hers and ranting about John Seed being a pain in his ass. It would be just Les complaining Ollie is the biggest pain in his. "Gem?", it was Mary May's turn to laugh, "You sure you mean our Calahan?" "Ouch.", Hartley exclaimed all-too-dramatically as he slid into the vacant chair at the bar and sent a wink towards her, obviously encouraged by the choice of words, "I'd say I'm hurt, but we both know you don't mean it, Mary May." True to their usual banter, an eyeroll followed in response to his flirting, "Make yourself useful, Rookie, and cheer the Deputy up. Would be a shame if we lose her to Oregon, when she's keeping you in check so well."

Here’s my snippet from Along For The Ride PT.2 I’m still sprucing up for yall. Please enjoy…

“I ain’t done yet. You’ve got more of my products to try before the day’s done. And I’ll show you the best foods they’re to pair them with, too. You’ll be so grateful that I might just become your favorite person,” He says proudly before taking a bite of his own biscuit. A dribble of honey runs down one side of his chin and you have the wicked thought to lap it up with your tongue but that thick, long, wet muscle of his—the one your mouth had been acquainted with last night—licks up the escaped honey. You feel heated with your tongue on the verge of sticking out of your mouth to pant wildly like some dog.

“Mmm…”

Fuuck the way he moans…oh, how incredible it was when he sounded that way in your ear. You find yourself abandoning your personal enjoyment of the food to instead zero in on his lips wrapped around his honey-coated fingers. You squeeze your nylon-clad thighs together, rubbing them to relieve the tension and silently mewling at the soft suction noises coming from him along with the occasional hum of satisfaction.

If you stay here, there might be a repeat of the ‘barn incident’ only this time you might have your mouth on something else you’ve been dying to taste. You brace yourself, ready to be excused to the restroom. But then you make an abrupt halt when you hear him utter the words, “You taste so sweet.”

His eyelids fly open, face beginning to flush as he stares back at you with eyes just as big as yours. He clears his throat, stuttering to correct himself. “It! It tastes so sweet…is what I…meant…to say.”

He averts his gaze from yours, cheeks bright red. Yet another foolish blunder he’s mentally kicking himself over. A slip of the tongue that

indicates that he, too, won’t be forgetting the kiss so soon. For god’s sake, it had only been a mere day ago since his tongue eagerly explored your mouth.

“D-ditto.” You say while looking down at the half-eaten biscuit in your hands.

Several Sentence Sunday Monday

“Trying to freeze me to death?” Liam frowns, but he’s halfway into a smile and Theo perks up at his change of attitude.

“You did ruin my door.” Theo dramatically cringes, helping himself into the shower with Liam.

“That was you. Making a point without thinking it through.” Liam mentions, giving a small nod to move since Theo is in the way when he’s trying to get warmer now that the water isn’t freezing.

“Let's not fight.” Theo takes a washcloth and runs it over Liam’s shoulder, the gentle feel of the water caressing his skin.

“I’m not fighting.” Liam grumbles, as Theo gives him a look and nods.

Water trickles down Theo’s nose, mesmerizing Liam. He lets him lean in, licking the bottom of the chimera’s lip.

Tongues and warm mouths explore each other’s bodies, the electric pull of Theo still there, and warming all the right places.

“I will admit I think you’re the closest I’ve ever been to someone.” Theo says, a pleased groan echoing from Liam’s lips, and another twist of heat burning through his body when he meets Theo’s lips again.

“Maybe If you tone it down a bit it would help.” Liam laughs, as Theo narrows his eyes.

The shower turns into more of an exploratory shower than a real one, but he’s left shivering from it and not because of the cold this time.

He watched as Zoro glanced over at the others. "Well, captain, I guess I wouldn't be thrilled if you decided you wanted us to sail under another man's flag." "Would you leave?" Luffy was gripped with a sudden terrible panic that Zoro's soft look and little shake of his head immediately assuaged. "Never." Two years ago, in the first few months when they had met, Luffy was sure that the answer would have been 'yes'. He let go of Zoro's hand and twined his arms around his arm in a curling spiral instead, walking as close to him as possible. They were quiet together for a moment, bathed in the last warm rays of twilight and the soft chatter of the rest of the Straw Hats, and the former Heart Pirates and Doflamingo– all of them surrounded by the greater, distant noise of the crowd and Uta's song. When Luffy had been little, talking with Ace and Sabo about how they'd all be pirate captains, he didn't really understand what that meant, or why it meant that the three of them couldn't sail together. It had been Zoro who taught Luffy what being a captain meant. He still wasn't sure that he understood it. Or maybe it was more that there was a part of him that didn't quite like the answer. Pride. Pride and rank. It made him think of the marines.  And he hated it.

Fic Extract: The Secrets We Keep*

Here is an extract of a Benedict Bridgerton x fem!reader request I have been writing, in little chunks, for many months. It will likely have a dash of everything - fluff, humour, mild angst and maybe a touch of smut.

I really want to concentrate on getting this delivered soon, so this post is to motivate/scare myself lol. I hope you enjoy it 🫶

“Where are we going!?” you demand, his gloved hand tugging yours along through the darkened gardens.

“Shh, if we are seen, you’ll be ruined,” he hushes you but keeps moving, furtive and fast, your feet having to take extra steps to keep up with his long stride over the lush, dewy grass.

“Benedict…” you try again, once you round a thick hedge into the rose garden. “What is going on?”

He slows a little, but does not relinquish his tight hold. Gravel path now crunching under his boots as the honeyed scent of damask hangs heavy in the air.

“Eloise told me,” is all he offers. “So we are escaping.”

“W-we are?” you stutter, frowning.

“Yes! Or at least we would be if you would keep quiet… please…” he amends, sounding a touch contrite about his initial brusqueness, but speeding up again, headed straight for a small wooden door in a high stone wall, almost hidden behind long, draping ropes of ivy, glowing silver in the moonlight.

When you reach it, he releases his grip on your hand and shoulders the door open with considerable force. The weathered wood creaks loudly, almost splintering under the duress. He signals to the inky blackness of the deserted mews behind Bridgerton House.

“It is now or never, y/n,” he warns, as you look back at the house, lit up with the life of the ball inside. “So what is your choice?”
