summary: S3 towards the end (crystal labyrinth?) Winx and specialists fight against the Trix. Riven grabbed Darcy and she's like: let me go. And he's like: you used to say "hold me tight". And she, what kind of shitty boyfriend are you to Musa? Not that I care lol. And then he just lets her go and the Trix take off. And Riven is like hmm, I can imagine a redemption arc for her. He's had a lot of stress with Musa since the crystal labyrinth at the latest. That's why he talks to Flora, because she's the softest and sweet and most likely to give people a second chance. Then Flora and Riven go on a mission to get to Darcy and make her the offer to switch on their side. Darcy will definitely talk to Stormy first and then to Icy. Convincing Icy will be the hardest because she loves Valtor kinda? idk. But he's only interested in Bloom, even if not romantically. Bottom line, trix and winx vs valtor and s3 gets a better ending

I hated Fate too and everything about it. The worst was the writing (you can't tell me all teenagers are so addicted to s*x????? Wtf they're supposed to be 16?????). But I like the fact that Beatrix looked like Stormy in disguise from season 2.

When Fate the Winx Saga came out I tried my hardest to like Beatrix because I thought this was all the Trix we would get.

But her personality annoys me ngl.

Still sad it's cancelled (cause I was excited as hell we were getting a live-action) but the 4 fics, and two headcanon posts on tumblr are putting Isobel (Icy) and D'Arcy in better hands than Netflix probably.

okay, so, how this "surgery" affected the Trix

Stormy's now absolutely passive. she doesn't do anything on her own, doesn't talk, doesn't react. she's basically like a ragdoll - except the times when she's not. she has only two conditions now, 1 where you can do anything with her, 2 where you can't move her even with a fucking tank. nothing in between. What is going on in her hed tho is a complete mystery.

Darcy's doing little bit better. just a little bit. she still can talk, can do many things. she just doesn't. she's absolutely apathetic, and without guidence she can just… starve to death, lying on the floor near the full fridge, just because she can't make herself get up and do anything (I wanted to give her memory issues - that she can't make any new memories and wakes up thinking that the last battle with the winx was just yesterday, but i was told that lobotomy doesn't cause memory issues). she also almost doesn't feel any emotions. The only thing she feels - is rage towards people who did this to them, when she sees Icy crying. speaking of her…

Icy is lucky (or unlucky) to be the most functional one of the three. she can still walk, talk and react almost normally to her surroundings. she just has really hard time thinking anout literally anything. it's like her iq dropped from 180 to 40-50, idk. so, yeah, no plans for world domination in this condition can be made. she even has hard time planning her day. And, also, she now can't control her magic at all - anything she touches will be frozen, so she has to wear artifacts that don't let her use magic at all. But not only her magic is out of control, her emotions are as well. In my aus Icy usually doesn't cry at all. In this one tho... in this one she will cry for all her alternative versions, yeah. And, as a bonus, occasional epileptic seizures.

And the worst thing is - she DOES realise how much she changed, notices that things she used to do without thinking at all now are taking her way to long to do. And she sees how her sisters changed as well. And she hates herself, she hates the winx, she hates the light rock for doing this to them. But she can't just end her sufferings, although she was thinking about it, her sisters will not survive without her. so she keeps living. for them.

she found a way, she spends her evenings trying to live through the next day and making a plan in her notebook, she sets alarm clock for every step, she sends million delayed reminders to herself. she goes to bed very late, but at least her next day will be a little bit easier.

But... their life has another catch. Obviously, none of them can work, not with such conditions. Icy tried, but got fired in less than an hour. But they are getting only one pension - for Stormy. Why is that? Because Icy and Darcy have huge family savings. But they can't get to them - it's now too difficult of a task to do. Icy can't plan the whole thing through, something will go wrong and she will be lost. And Darcy can't even leave the house before losing last bit of motivtion. Even if she left, she would stop in the proccess without someone who'd tell her to continue. And they can't go together, not without Stormy. And with her it becomes much more complicated. Hell, they can just lose her somewhere. And so they have to just survive with what they got.

The Trix don't have anyone, except for themselves. Who will take care of Darcy and Stormy if something happens? Icy always would answer: I will. But who will take care about you, if something happens to you? Darcy and Stormy will, isn't it obvious?

Hi, me again! I was just wondering, following the ‘what if the wizards were actually surrendering’ ask, if the wizards really did give up fairy hunting, what do you think they’d do? (Sorry if I’m sending you too many asks, I just really like your takes.) Thank you!

Hiii sorry it took me a sec to get to this one!! I'll put a link to that ask right here for anyone who's wondering, since it's been a bit. Never worry about sending too many asks either, like I said a while back; I'll get to them eventually! Moving on though!

In my mind they've really already been living normally, like between locking away the fairies and Roxy's magic making itself known I mean- Of course the logistics of it are a bit um. All over the place. Considering they're immortal, sort of. Do they have legal documents? Real or fake? Did they have any mortal friends and how would that work? And JOBS?? The way none of these are obstacles for Duman btw, that's why they killed him, they didn't want him to roam and do whatever anymore. Real and Canon.

Now in a post-alt ending-S4 timeline, the one where they did surrender, do we assume that they just can't use their magic, or that they don't have it anymore? Because that'd probably change the way they live afterwards pretty drastically. Aside from the fact some of them heavily depend on magic more than the others (Ogron and Duman get help smh), HORRENDOUS case scenario, they might all be mortal. For the sake of my own mental health though, I'm just gonna say they do still have magic and are in fact not mortal, just give them a fairy parole officer, some magic blocking thing, keep them around and use them for "good" stuff after a rehabilitation period or something. That's what I'd prefer anyway.

What would they be doing during said rehabilitation period? Started out as a bit of a shared joke, but tbh Anagan model career WHEN. He'd struggle with the lack of useable magic the least too, so he'd probably thrive during the whole thing more than the others, and as he should. Besides Anagan I don't have a whole lot ngl- I mean, I'd like to think Duman had lots of jobs back in the day, not sure if I mentioned that before, but I might make a separate post if I didn't, just because I have thoughts but other stuff to talk about rn sjsjksk

Ogron and Gantlos don't have a lot either MY BAD, but I do think Ogron might be more likely to have friends, maybe surprisingly. Meanwhile Gantlos has a bigger chance of being able to hold down a stable job. What job? Great question! I'm not sure yet. If that changes I'll be sharing with the class!

Moving on once again!! What could the "good" stuff I mentioned above be exactly? Education.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But are there no. Wizard or witch school on Earth?? I know they ended up opening a fairy school later on, but those aren't the only magic users suddenly learning of the dormant magic in their roots. Let's take the comic character Gregory for example. He learns he's a wizard, he tries to enroll into a wizard school(?) off planet. Nothing inherently wrong with going to a school off planet- The Winx did it too, lots of magic users do it, what is wrong though, is being turned down and having no alternatives. And even worse?? They tell him it's because. There's a darkness in him?? Or something?? I could excuse it slightly more if it was a case of "Oh your magic is dark aligned and this is a light magic school" because wizard canonically are known to be both, right? But aside from the fact that, again, there are no alternatives for him, as far as he knows, telling a newly awakened magic user that he's basically too evil to teach is CRAZY I'm sorry??

Here's where I cutely insert the Wizards of the Black Circle. Have them become the place to go when your magic energy alignment is dark (because it doesn't inherently have to mean evil and they're worthy of education in this essay I) on Earth, or even just. Any magic user who isn't a fairy. Just give them another Terrestrial option, options are always good. I think that'd be really neat.

You might sit here and go "The evil wizards are gonna teach the next generation of wizards? Could history not repeat itself??" Well. Yeah. But are the Terrestrial fairies not teaching their next generation now too? The same fairies who canonically turned on humanity at some point? These are all 'what if' scenarios, I'd just like to think that with proper communication this time around, things will be different and both fairy and wizard get to work towards that together. I'm normal and have slept a reasonable amount.

Winx Club Rewrite: Season 1

I understand this is me being very late to the party, but that's pretty on-brand for me at this point lol

A few years ago, I started to work on a possible rewrite for Fate: The Winx Saga but it soon became this monstrous project of rewriting the entire franchise. Because while this series is one of my beloved childhood series, it is also very messy with its world-building and plotlines, as well being done dirty over and over again by its countless reboots. As much as I would have loved to create a full-on alternative universe like the ones I've seen on tumblr for years, it just took up so much of my time that could have been spent on other projects and it was starting to feel more like a chore than anything else. Eventually, I did create some fashion boards for how to translate their outfits from the show into real life, and wrote up some concept ideas for their live-action costumes, which led to me just writing up the notes I had for the rewrite to share them with y'all.

Some of these ideas were inspired by other people's rewrite of the series, some of these ideas came to me while writing this up, and a lot of these are my attempt to make sense of Winx Club's fucked-up lore. While these were originally written with a live-action reboot in mind, these could also work for an animated reboot targeted for teens/young adults.

This is probably the extent I'll do for any sort of Winx Club rewrite, but it was still fun!

-Bloom is not a princess, but instead the daughter of Priestess Marion (the last Keeper of the Dragon Flame) and Bishop Oritel

-Daphne was twenty years old when her aunt and uncle gave birth to Bloom. She was best friends with Crowned Princess Politea, who betrayed her own kingdom to the Ancestral Witch in order to gain the throne, but she was killed soon after she led Marion and Oritel to their demise. Daphne was not killed when she sent Bloom (and the Dragon Flame) to Earth, but instead viciously tortured, ripped of her wings, and cursed to live inside her mother's mirror, which was thrown into the depths of Lake Roccaluce. From there, she uses her remaining magic to speak with Bloom once she realizes her cousin has returned to the Magical Dimension.

-Domino's demise did happen sixteen prior to the series, but the destruction was more thorough, so the other girls truly believed all hope was lost in trying to revive the kingdom. Only a few hundred people (either those who had moved away from Domino prior to its destruction or actual refugees), Bloom, and technically Daphne (as well as Valtor) managed to survive the attack. When visiting the frozen Domino palace, Bloom discovers she can either bring her realm back to life or break Daphne's curse, but the spell will only work with an Enchantix-level fairy dust bottle.

-Flora is the plus-sized daughter of Professor Palladium (who would also be of Hispanic descent), and due to being half-elf, she does have a normal lifespan as the others

-Tecna is a former Specialist with a prosthetic left arm, who joins Alfea after realizing she has magic, but she suffers severe social anxiety and finds comfort in the library, where she becomes close with Headmistress Faragonda as a result.

-Musa starts off the series dating Riven, but they break up right before the Day of the Rose festival

-Aisha takes over Mirta's role as the witch-turned-fairy. Coming from a long line of witches, Aisha never felt comfortable practicing witchcraft as her negative emotions stem from her controlling parents and isolated childhood, even though she advocated for witches to be treated fairly. Despite having a friendship with Stormy, she was never afraid to stand up to the Trix and this led to her being turned into a pumpkin. After being brought back by Flora's magic, Aisha decides to help the Winx after Bloom loses her magic and she ends up gaining her wings as a result.

-Sky has an older sister named Jade, who is heavily based around Diaspro's design, powers, and personality (leaning more into the comic version of the character). An overprotective sister who wishes to keep her people safe, she is the crowned heir of the kingdom but their parents are trying to force her to give the crown to her brother instead. Due to her attending a private academy on Eraklyon, she has no idea her brother is using a fake identity.

-Timmy is more of a social butterfly than Tecna, with him having chaotic mad scientist vibes when it comes to machines. Their relationships starts off as academic rivals, with Timmy being the only person who can beat Tecna in some subjects, causing her to show more her emotional side as she is determined to beat him fair and square.

-The Trix disguise themselves while causing havoc, with only the viewers knowing the connection between their civilian identities and their witch forms. Their cover is blown when the Army of Darkness is defeated, with the fallout resulting in them being sent to Light Rock for their sentence.

-Stormy takes over the roles of both Lucy and Anne, mainly through her friendship with Aisha and her being the one to compete in Miss Magix. She is a native of Andros with a Linphean mother, and she has vitiligo. At first, she was forbidden to have a friendship with the princess due to her low status but after showing potential to become a great witch, Aisha's parents allowed her to stay around as they thought she was a "good influence". She ended up running away from home due to neglect, where she met Darcy and Icy on her way to join a coven. She has no real interest in the Dragon Flame but enjoys causing mass chaos.

-Darcy's storyline with Riven remains, but it has more depth once they get to know each other. Darcy is a Melodian native who spent the first few years of her life on Solaria, but after her mother abandoned her for a noble man, she ended up in the care of Headmistress Griffin. Riven is also from Melody, but grew up in the poorest district, where he was tossed between boarding schools, right until he was found by Professor Codatorta during a boxing match. Despite originally using him to get under Musa's skin, the two ended up falling in love and Darcy truly felt guilty for using him, but she was too desperate to gain the Dragon Flame to never feel powerless again.

-Icy was once the daughter of Aster Dell's leader, until the village was burned to the ground by an unknown force. Adopted by a noble Eraklyon man, she grew up in high society as Duchess Elisa Smirnov, the childhood friend of Prince Jade and deep down, she was less than thrilled upon she would be become Schuyler's arranged bride after her older sister ran away from home. Much like Jade, she had no idea about Sky using a fake identity, as she preferred to keep her distance from the prince unless she wanted to use their arrangement as a way to cause drama between him and a certain redhead fairy.

-Instead of an identity switch, Sky goes from a scrawny, pale prince with short hair, a designer preppy "old money" wardrobe, and an elegant way of speaking to a muscular, tanned Specialist with long hair, a more casual skater style, and a surfer-like accent while using a ton of teenage lingo incorrectly. While under a different name (Sam Harvey), he tries to fit in, but his cover ends up being blown at the Day of the Royals, where his sister reveals the truth.

-Stella explains she came to Earth by accident, as she was trying to teleport away from the troll but her ring glitched out and sent her to Earth instead of home. Bloom does not take someone else's identity, but Faragonda tells her not to let anyone know she is from Earth (which is considered a forbidden realm for magic users)

I was just thinking and it occurred to me that maybe what season one of the Winx Club really needed was for Bloom and Sky to get the arc they used for Jason and Musa in s4, or a better version of it. Instead of Sky being a cheating dickhead who never faces any consequences, he and Diaspro would be engaged and genuinely love each other while Bloom would be reading too much into what really is just friendship. In the end, he'd realize he'd been leading her on without meaning to and everything would be revealed and settled, no cheating or weird beef with Diaspro and Bloom or anything. Idk, I just think that might be a reasonable alternative to the canon bullshit or a big blowout breakup due to the cheating from canon.

Lyricist

Summary: Nabu has been dead for 5 years. He is resurrected only to find that Layla has moved on and change is hard to cope with. Icy doesn't like change, Nabu finds comfort in that she is rather similar to who she always has been.

They don't have much in common. Almost nothing at all really. And she is nothing g at all like Layla.

Layla.

It is painful to think about her.

He'd been dead five years. Officially and legally dead. He can't blame her for having moved on in that time. He can't even blame Nex. He doesn't. The two of themare good for each other and if Next had been able to make grief easier for Layla to carry, then Navu commends him for it.

But that doesn't take the ache out of his own heart every time he sees the two of them together. Every time he thinks of leaning in for a kiss and remembers that he and Layla are just friends.

He doesn't mean to be distant with everybody but sometimes it is just too hard to be around them noticing all of the changes both big and small. They are all taller now, Musa's hair is even longer---these are the things that he can ignore. But all of them are several transformations ahead and Flora is pregnant with Helia's baby---these are the things that remind him that the world had marched right along in his absence.

And so it is that he finds himself wandering the streets of Magix with no aim in mind and not enough money to buy himself some entertainment. He is working on that. It is an uphill battle. He is five years behind.

It isn't his fault.

The park is crowded today. He fancies a seat but every bench is fully occupied. All but one. The one that is taken by the woman with a shoulder length bob and a snake curling around her shimmery arm. He can't tell if her skin is just like that or if she is wearing some type of sheer, sparkly undershirt.

He also isn't sure if people are giving her a wide berth because of she herself or the snake. He is inclined to say that it is the fault of the snake. People don't understand them, don't appreciate them.

"Mind if I sit here?" He inquires.

The woman looks up and fixes him with the most intense frosty stare that he has ever been on the receiving end of. Suddenly he finds himself under the impression that it is, in fact, not the snake that is scaring everyone away.

But when Icy speaks, her voice is light and soft, "sure, I guess."

Nabu hesitates for a moment but he has already asked her if he could sit and he doesn't want to be rude. He tells himself that if she had been nice enough to let him sit then maybe she will be nice enough to let him leave unscathed. He decides that he will sit for at least five minutes and then declare that he has rested his legs long enough and is ready to resume his walk.

Icy is a rather quiet person, he comes to realize. Quieter than he remembers her being anyhow.

"What's her name?"

"Huh?"

"The snake. What's her name?" He isn't sure  why he asks. Maybe because there's something sad about how much distance everyone keeps from her, surely even witches get lonely. Or maybe it is for his own sake--silence makes him uncomfortable.

"His name is Lyricist."

"Hmmm, I always thought that you would pick an engine name, something dark and mysterious."

Icy shrugs. "Nope. Lyricist." She does not elaborate.

She does resume her silence, alternating between looking at her palms, the snake, or straight ahead but quite distantly.

"Its kind of nice to meet someone else who likes snakes." Nabu comments. "I can't bring them around the Winx. Brandon and Sky don't mind but Timmy and Riven are squeamish around them. Helia is scared of some snakes."

"Noted." Icy replies and he flinches. He probably shouldn’t have blabbed free advice on how to terrorize her rivals. "Relax." She roll her eyes. "My sisters and I only do petty, mildly infuriating things now." She pauses. "Which is arguably more fun anyhow."

"That's...good?"

The silence settles again but before he can break it she turns to him and tilts her head slightly. "What's it like?"

"What's what like?"

"To be dead." Her face doesn't flush, her stare doesn't waver. She feels no shame in her bluntness and he damn near tells her to shut her mouth. But the look in those eyes is less vicious and more curious. "Is it like falling asleep?"

He shakes his head. "Nothing like that. Sleep is peaceful. You can dream." He pauses. "Death is...its like..." nothing. Death is comparable to nothing at all and so he doesn't try to draw a comparison. "You would have to die for yourself to know what it's like."

"Eventually." Icy replies. She lifts Lyricist up, leveling his head with her nose. "He likes being held at eye level." Icy explains.

“How long have you had him for?”

“Only two years. He is from the Omega Dimension.” 

Nabu blinks. “One of those massive ice serpents?”

Icy nods. “This one is a runt but it will eventually get to be at least as tall as I am.”

“And that doesn’t bother you?”

She shakes her head. “Not really, no.” She runs her fingers over Lyricist’s head. “Do you want to hold him?”

Nabu holds his arms out and Icy drapes the snake over them. “I used to have a two snakes.” He shares. “Dalya and Gali. They were checkered keelbacks. They aren’t venomous…”

“But they have one helluva bite.” Icy replies. 

“Have you ever kept one?”

“No, but I’ve done my research. Extensive research. Darcy and Stormy tell me that I spend too much time reading about snakes and not enough time interacting with people. But people are exhausting to me.” 

“And here I thought that you were getting lonely or something with the way that people seem to avoid you. I guess that I interrupted your alone time then.” Nabu guesses. 

“It suits me just fine that everyone keeps their distance.” Icy taps her chin. “You aren’t noisy and you let me talk about snakes.” 

Briefly he meets her gaze, there is something in her stare. He thinks that maybe she does get lonely sometimes. He isn’t able to stop himself from asking, “does it ever bother you that nobody talks to you?”

Icy presses her lips together. “Not really. I have Darcy and Stormy. People are…I’d rather just stick to my snakes.”

“You have several?”

“Would you like to meet them?”

There is a different look in her eyes now, some sort of sparkle to match what he swears is a hint of enthusiasm in her voice. But she turns her gaze back to Lyricist before he can truly take it in. Nabu can’t imagine that too many people show interest in going anywhere with her, let alone to go and see some snakes. “Yeah, that would be great. I kind of miss having a pet snake.” He hesitates. “Darcy and Stormy won’t mind?”

“Darcy and Stormy bring people over all the time. It’s annoying, especially since they never give me advanced notice.” 

“Are you going to give them a head’s up?”

“Nope.” Icy shrugs. 

And so he finds himself walking through the park with a former foe and she too becomes a reminder that he has been dead for quite a long time.

Long enough for three of Magix's most notorious and infamous to have had a change of heart and get their lives back in order. Start to get them back in order anyhow. Icy, stroking the snake's head as they walk along, mentions that she had been hoping to be further along than she is.

He tells her that, all things considered, he thinks that she is doing  just fine.

“Maybe.” She mumbles. She holds her arms out and Nabut passes Lyricist back to her.

“At least you’ve made some progress, I’m exactly where I was five years ago but without a girlfriend.”

“You died. I have no excuse.”

She is very blunt. He shouldn’t be surprised. She has always been extremely forward. Aggressively honest. “You’re doing what you can. I’ve only talked to you for about an hour and, I don’t know, I like you.”

Her strides falter but only for a moment. “If you say so.” She opens the door to a somewhat small apartment and gestures for him to enter. His nostrils are struck by various incense aromas and the smell of herbal tea.

He follows her past the kitchen and into one of two bedrooms. He assumes that this is hers and that Darcy and Stormy share the adjacent room. 

Icy’s room is occupied by many large tanks, each of them has at least three snakes. She takes him to the first and begins explaining which breeds are in it, their eating habits, and their behavioral quirks. 

All the while, Lyricist encircles her neck. He imagines that the snake does this quite often if Icy trusts him not to squeeze. 

At each tank she also gets into the nitty gritty of how to clean the tanks properly and a whole slew of facts and statistics surrounding each breed of the snake within. She possesses, he realizes, a remarkable amount of knowledge about snakes of every variety. He just wishes that she would explain why she named Lyricist the way that she has.

“Do you work with snakes professionally?” Nabu asks. 

Icy nods. She points at the smallest tank in the room. “Sometimes I bring them home for observation. The ones that need the most attention.” 

“What do you do with them?”

“Sometimes I am in charge of rehabilitation when nobody else is available. I’m not a nurturer so most of the time I study their behavioral and mating patterns.  Mostly the place I work for specializes in magical breeds from all over the magical dimensions, but sometimes we get Earth snakes. Now and then a new species is discovered.” She lifts a snake from the small tank. It is soft pink in color and has scales like sakura petals. It smells like cherry blossom too. “This is Idyl. I am in charge of gathering and assessing data about she and her mate.” She lifts a second snake out of the tank. “This is my first major project—we’ve had newly discovered species before but I’ve only ever assisted…”

“I thought that you said that you aren’t as far along in life as you’d like to be.”

Icy clears her throat. “As you may recall, my life plan was to at least have Magix conquered by now. This is a downgrade.”

“Downgrade? You seem…” happy isn’t exactly how he would describe her. “Content.” 

“I like my snakes well enough.” She places Idyl and—he glances at the nameplate on the tank—Breeze back into the tank. 

“I take it that someone else named these two.” 

“That’s correct. Icy confirms. She finds herself a spot on her bed and unravels Lyricist from her around her neck. “Why aren’t you with the Winx?”

“I guess…it’s hard for me to be around Layla right now. She’s got Nex and they’ve all changed so much it reminds me of how much I missed. I mean of course they’d move on it has been five years but it still stings, I guess.” 

“Stormy hasn’t changed much.” Icy notes. He thinks that this could have been an attempt to be comforting. He should probably appreciate it, the witch isn’t exactly one to attempt to comfort someone. 

Wasn’t rather. 

It dawns upon him all over again that he doesn’t know what she is like now. 

“I’m sure that they’d be delighted to know that you’re speaking with me.”

“You still hate the Winx?” At least that hasn’t changed.

“It’s more of a mild distaste these days.” She lays back and lets Lyricist curl himself up atop her stomach. She holds her hands behind her head and fixes her gaze on the ceiling. “Honestly, the past is overrated anyways. You didn’t miss much.” 

“It feels like I missed a whole lot.”

“Not really. If you actually think about it, life is pretty monotonous. Something, something the more things change, the more they stay the same.” 

“Are you alright?”

“Huh?”

“Monotonous isn’t typically how happy people describe life.”

“It’s fine by me.” Icy replies. “I don’t care much for change, myself. It’s frustrating and…” He is almost certain that she wants to saw awkward but can’t bring herself to show that much vulnerability. “At any rate, it’s a tedious process and things are comfortable as they are. We’re mostly the same, the three of us.” 

And he can use that. He can use something more familiar. “You cut your hair.”

Icy brushes her fingers through it. “The snakes kept getting tangled in it. It became a bit of a hassle. I’ll probably grow it out again some day. I liked it the way that it was.”

It occurs to him that she dresses the same way. 

Does her make up the same way.

She probably has this room arranged similarly to how her dorm room had been arranged. 

“I’d like to listen to you talk about snakes more if you care to hang out with some loser from Red Fountain.” 

Icy hums. “Yes, I suppose that you can come back tomorrow. But only because I know that it will bother the Winx.” 

Nabu is almost certain that it truly more about talking about her snakes. She had taken a good glance at the stack of snake-related books and file folders on her nightstand. He has only submerged himself a few inches into her well of snake knowledge. He doesn’t call her on it. He finds it endearing. “Great, I’ll be back tomorrow.”

“Make sure that you close the door all the way, Cemetery is an escape artist.”

“Learned from the best, I’d imagine.” He quirks a brow. 

“She certainly did.” 

He closes the door behind him and makes sure that it is sealed tightly. Never in his life imagined that he would look forward to seeing Icy again.

- an alternate season 4 where the winx go to earth not to make people believe in magic/track down roxy but because faragonda is getting readings of strange spikes of magical activity in a small city on earth called heatherfield and wants the girls to see what could possibly be causing magic surges on a magicless planet

- maybe during book of the elements arc? since the literal elements were going nuts that’ll fr cause an energy spike, plus the kandrakar portal getting used daily

- they end up undercover as new students in sheffield institute looking for the magic signature of the heart of kandrakar

- bump into w.i.t.c.h. and they have that “i’m just like you, you’re just like me” moment

- at this moment w.i.t.c.h. are way in over their heads w the elements and dark mother so even if the winx completed their mission of finding out what was up in heatherfield they decide to stay

- IMAGINE THE BONDING

- the winx could help w.i.t.c.h. with their newfound increase in power, since they all struggled controlling their new stronger powers when they got their enchantix

- everyone gets flying lessons.

irma would complain that their outfits aren’t as cool and sparkly as the winx and they only get one,,,, and then during the new powers arc she’s like “i stand corrected! new outfit!”

- bloom teaching taranee how to bond with her fire and accept the duality/entirety of such a destructive power

- cornelia watching flora and thinking that the earth doesn’t just have to be stubborn, solid, and firm, it can be gentle too

- will introducing tecna to all her talking household appliances!!

- musa bonding with matt over his band (there’s a musa/cobalt blue collab at the end of the season)

- irma and joel introducing musa to karmilla

- cornelia taking stella on a shopping trip!! and hay lin getting sewing advice from her to make her own clothes

- imagine if irma could use morphix??? and you can’t tell me she wouldn’t lose her Mind over how cool aisha is

and at the end of the season the oracle thanks the winx for their help and offers to send them home through one of kandrakar’s portals, and w.i.t.c.h. realize magix is accessible to them because kandrakar is the bridge between all worlds, all dimensions. bloom hugs will and tells her “when you ever feel like visiting, we’re just two portals away!”

After 3 years of being on hiatus (if I can even call it that), I’ve decided to return to my writing, despite only having published one fanfic from the Winx Club series lmao. I had written two more before and left them unfinished but I’m back at it.

Anyway, I’ve recently been reading the Winx comics and some fanfics that I’ve either read before or are new to me. Again anything with Griffin, I’ll read. Even more so if it’s a Griffin and Faragonda friendship/romance. Also anything with the Company of Light, I’ll also read.

I think the time before the Winx really fascinates me, especially the Company of Light era. There is so much material to explore, which I think is a HUGE missed opportunity from the writers of the show. Not to mention the countless plot holes that I, and several other fanfic writers, are trying to piece together in our own AU.

I’m currently rewriting ‘Heartbreak Anniversary’ and potentially changing its name to something more suitable. This follows 10 years before Season 1 and provides my own backstory of what went south between the two headmistresses of Cloud Tower and Alfea with flashbacks from the battle in Domino and when they were younger.

This leads to my second chapter, which I’m also writing, following the end of Season 1. To me, this is the time when they reconcile their friendship that gradually changes over time to lovers. (Though, they’ve always had something for each other in my verse)

The third chapter I'm writing follows Season 2, Episode 17 where Griffin teleports into Faragonda's office just to 'talk about strategy' *wink, wink*. After the three chapters, I’ll start piecing together my Company of Light AU. I’ve been writing notes of my head canons for each member, some of the winx’s parents, villains, planets/realms/dimensions, and the whole world building of it that I’ll share soon.

I guess I’m trying to fill in the holes the Winx writers left throughout the series, picking up clues to make sense of some of the characters and their storylines in my own alternate universe.

I’ll probably write some Griffin x Faragonda one-shots in the future but don’t quote me on that lol because I don't know when I'll get to it. I’m still finding my feet with my writing because my only background is poetry and it’s always been one of my passions. I’ve only ever written 3 fictions and a few magazine articles.

For now, I’m gathering facts about Griffin from the show, comics, and the enciclomagia. Feel free to exchange head canons with myself!

The Lost Rainbow: Winx Club AU (as of 2024)

Yes, I am updating this AU for the third time lol. But, with the recent work I have done of imagining the main girls as fairies, I thought it would be best to update this AU once more! :D The biggest inspiration for this is from some talks I've had with @littlechaoticwitch about the AU, especially since she did originally give the idea of my main girls being fairies and came up with a storyline idea for this AU too! :3

This post is actually the first of a few posts for this AU! In this one I'll be going over some general information for the AU and including everyone's magic alignment(so pretty similar to the previous two versions), with another post for everyone's magic titles and then individual posts to go over the characters from each kingdom in more depth. Also, for some context this AU is considered an alternative timeline to the canon timeline of Winx Club, and will have the main kingdoms/countries of TLR translated over into the Winx setting. I felt this was the best route to take with this AU, especially considering I don't see my characters interacting with the canon Winx Club characters much.

Many decades ago, the then-king of Melor had an encounter with an insanely powerful witch during his travels across the Magical Dimension. They struck up quite the bond during their travel together, resulting in them forming a rather passionate affair together. Yet despite their draw to each other the king was never truthful with her, so after one moment of sleeping together and finding out his true nature, she cursed him and his entire kingdom to be forgotten. Once a very powerful kingdom, Melor had lost all previous connections and was since sealed away from the rest of the Magical Dimension.

All the kings since then have done their best to try and break the curse and bring their kingdom back into prominence, but none were as successful or ruthless in their pursuit than the current king, Argento. He is the only one who has actually gone through with leaving their kingdom to find more resources and ideas on how to break the curse, and so far in his short time as king he has done so much. His plans do not just stop at breaking Melor's curse, as he has bigger plans in action to take over the entire Magical Dimension, so his name and kingdom shall never again be forgotten. During his pursuit so far he has also begun kidnapping those whom he believes holds potential to aid him in his plans of world domination, by expanding upon their magical power and breaking their spirits to act as obedient servants to him. This has unfortunately included the two eldest princes from the Elementals Alliance- an alliance that was formed between four kingdoms that had excluded Melor in previous centuries.

With this growing threat in the Magical Dimension, amongst many others, five fairy princesses have come together to help put an end to the terror. They have all come from the kingdoms in the Elementals Alliance, and especially as two of the girls have had their respective brother kidnapped, they hope to not only find them but help out anyone else who has fell victim to these evil forces.

2) For this one, here are my top five: Alternative Universe - Cannon Divergence, Alternative Universe, Romance, Falling in Love, and Original Characters

As for the second half of the question, I would say so. I am a big fan of characters falling in love - especially characters that have good chemistry or have so much romantic potential. What can I say? I am a romantic at heart. But also find it fun to diverge from the a cannon lore as of late with alternative possibilities.

7) World building I am fond of? Surprisingly, I am a fan of power structuring and how to make it work and function. It is not something in my current works (yet) but I like the idea of how characters might start in a certain tier of power and have to work their way up to the powerful person they are.

That and reason I like cannon divergence with it is because a certain show broke my suspension of disbelief about how powerful a character was only to have it kinda become all over the place that I just wanted to find more structure. Miraculous

Maybe I can talk about some of the other fandom works I have done power restructure for - She-Ra Princesses of Power, Miraculous, Winx Fate series, and a few others of my own creation.

And 17) Specific AU I would like to read or write? Well, as much as I like the idea of going back in time and writing the wrong of the lead trope, it has been done to death by now. Both in the being the hero of the story or being the villainess and then becoming the hero. I think it would be cool to have a story where two souls go back in time and try to work together to take revenge and maybe get a happy ending in return.

Winx VR au

I’ve been thinking of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D again, specifically season 4 where they get stuck in a virtual reality of an alternate world where every character’s biggest regret has removed.

Winx tried it in season 4 in that one episode which was a basic attempt when the Alfea simulator is right there.

Like imagine a case where it gets messed with again or cursed so that the consciousness of the Winx get stuck in this virtual reality but they aren’t aware of it and think everything around them is real.

If we’re following AOS then it would a world where their biggest regret has been changed like musa’s mom surviving, Stella’s parents staying together, domino surviving for Bloom. Then everything would change and it ends up being a world without the Winx since Musa’s mom would have supported her dreams so she would have never come to Alfea, Stella maybe rebelled harder and became a witch? Daphne never passed the dragon flame to Bloom but her actual family is now overprotective over her after the Witches tried to take over Domino so she never gets to leave.

I can’t think of a regret from their past for Aisha other than Nabu’s death but that would be post season 4. If it was something from her childhood maybe it could be Aisha running away with Anne, and shes now this runaway vigilante Princess.

It’d be interesting to include the Specialists too even though we know next to nothing about their pasts. Riven’s mother never abandoned him but that meant he got mixed with the wrong crowd and never got to RF. Maybe Sky refused the betrothal to Diaspro head on, causing issues in Eraklyon or being disowned and joins Aisha’s vigilante shenanigans. We have no canon backstory for Helia and Brandon so thats annoying.

But, I’ve always like the parallels between Leopold Fitz and Timmy, both tech geniuses/cinnamon rolls with self-esteem issues. So in this world Timmy’s (Fitz’s) dad never left and made him feel like shit so he became this Narcissistic tech genius that’s helping the evil guys take over the world.

Then the best part is Flora and Tecna because out of everyone only these two know something’s up. Tecna since she can sense that she’s in a virtual reality because of her powers and Flora not being able to feel or sense anything around her because none of it is real. I can see it driving her increasingly mad and turning her reckless.

We don’t know their canon backstories but I like to think they don’t have any big regrets. So they are the only ones who did end up going to Alfea and living ordinary lives in a sense.

Eventually these two figure out something is wrong and realise they’re in a virtual reality (nerds nerding). So they pair up and try to wake up their friends from this virtual reality.

In AOS there’s the Ai robot that controls the virtual reality and is essentially the villain of their own creation that they have to defeat. But Fitz was the one who created the Virtual Reality (called the Framework) in the first place. This could be one of Tecmy’s experiments in an attempt to program a world without regrets that backfired and caused this whole shit to go down.

Either way I just love the idea of the Virtual Reality just not working on Flora so she’s aware of everything and slowly starts getting more and more unhinged as she tries to get everyone else to understand that its all fake (aka jemma simmons my beloved biologist)

This would be a fun fanfic but I’d need to figure out a backstory for Brandon cuz I don’t think I know his character enough to make one thats true to his character.

A response to an anonymous prompt, exploring Milady's character over time.

Fifth most words: instinctively (Fate: the Winx Saga, Farah/Saul) Saul Silva and the terrible horrible no-good very bad flower. Mandatory sex pollen fic, where Saul reluctantly asks Farah for help and things escalate. Another kink meme fill ... that at ~7500 words definitely shows that I don't tend to write a lot of long fic.

Fewest words: Belief (Battlestar Galactica reboot, Roslin) Believing is preferable to thinking herself crazy ... A Roslin drabble that was one of my earliest forays into that fandom (and the start of a headlong tumble back into writing).
