funky tfp au
winglord starscream, but he has to look after his trine, the coneheads, rainmakers, AND the twins like a tired angry mexican mom
the first time he wakes skyquake up he drags him by the wings like a disobedient sparkling all the while yelling at him in very colorful vosian that would make unicron blush.
he is very protective of his seekers, they respect him more than they respect megatron (except dreadwing lol, but he joins in later)
I love everything about this. This means that Starscream was crowned Winglord before Vos fell, and I love that for him. He's had to contend with leading the seekers throughout the entirety of the war, on top of dealing with Megatron and the autobots. No wonder he's Tired™
The seekers defer to his judgement and follow him loyally, similar to the way they did in Cyberverse. Sometimes he'll go off in little rants in Vosian seeker cant if they needle him too much, and it's all fun and games until someone gets whacked with whatever the cybertronian version of la chancla is 😂

I wanted to ask, in the kids turned sparkling au, Starscream was teaching Miko how to be the next winglord. Assuming he lived after Predacons Rising, or died and came back like Optimus, would she still treat him like a secondary parent, and eventually become winglord?
Ah yes Starscream.
Previous part here.
━━━━━━ ⊙ ❖ ⊙ ━━━━━━━━━━━━
The matter of Starscream was one Tari did not like to consider. She had memories of Starscream trying to kill her when she was still Miko, but she also had recollections of a time when things were better. She remembered Starscream carrying her through the skies, letting her small wings flutter with the currents before she had learned to fly. She could still recall when he'd held her in his arms, telling her tales of Vos and the glory of the city he proclaimed would one day be hers. She had listened with such intent that even as a fully framed adult, she couldn't help but sometimes wonder if he was still out there, and if he still cared.
She was happy being a Wrecker, and she was happy being away from her family, even if she missed them at times. But as she aged, she felt a void within her, one that was for once, not caused by the loss of her Sire. She remembered stories of the great city that even after Cybertron's restoration, was not again floating in the sky. Starscream had always said that it was the duty of all fliers to watch over their city, to protect it, and to ensure that all who followed after them would have a place to call home.
Tari remembered, and so she decided to act.
Before Optimus's return, she set out on a journey across the stars. Her goal was simple: Find Starscream and get him to help her restore Vos. Sure, he might have been a Decepticon, but her memory painted him as a far more reasonable mech than some of the Autobots she dealt with on a regular basis. And without her Sire? Well... maybe digging up a few old memories would do something good for her aching spark.
It was far easier than she expected to find Starscream, although it hurt to track him down. He was hidden on Earth, her world of origin (a fact she will only begrudgingly admit). When she found him, he was wrapped up in his plans to get back at everyone and everything. She took him by total surprise, and their first meeting was by no means the one she had been hoping for. Starscream didn't recognize her, all he saw was her Wrecker badge.
Tari: Starscream! Hold your fire! I come in peace!
Starscream: An Autobot comes in peace? HA! As if I would believe that!
Tari: My designation is Sagittarius, Tari for short. Don't you remember me?
Starscream: A flier named after this mudball's constellations? How the mighty have fallen.
Tari and Starscream shot at each other for a while, and in the end, Tari had to hunt him down several times over the course of a few months. It was due to this hunt that she ended up with Bumblebee and his team on Earth for a time. She needed the extra guns to get into the Decepticon base on Earth where Starscream was supposedly hiding out. Her adventures with Bumblebee and his team were a whole other series of shenanigans. But in the end, she got her prize.
"Well Autobot? You've caught me. Are you going to kill me now?"
"No, I want you to talk to me. Please, just take a moment and remember me Starscream. I've already lost Optimus, I don't want to lose the only other bot that came even close to being my Sire."
"..."
"..."
"Mistress of the Terran skies. That was your full designation... wasn't it?"
Silence reigned over the duo for a time as Tari led Starscream out in cuffs. He would still need to answer for his crimes... but she would do all she could to lessen the sentence. For once, he went along without argument and allowed Tari to take him back to Cybertron to face justice. Seeing her reminded him of what he had been hoping for all those years ago when the war still raged. He had all but forgotten the precious sparkling he'd been so keen to raise once Megatron died. Predacons, Vehions, Terrorcons... it had all kept him distracted, especially as he sought out his old frame once more.
He would need to make things better.
Tari returned him to Cybertron and worked with anyone willing to side with Starscream during his court case. With a lot of effort, she was able to convince the Council that keeping Starscream alive was not only beneficial, but in the best interest of all of Cybertron. How did she do this? Why, she simply made it clear that Starscream had named her the heir of Vos... on live television. What was the Council to do? If they claimed Tari was lying, they would be disregarding the words of the Prime's sparkling. If they claimed her station was irrelevant, then they would earn the collective ire of every flier on Cybertron. There was almost no choice but to let Starscream out on parole and give Tari the funds needed to begin preparing to rebuild Vos.
Tari and Starscream were still rather tense, but working together on a common goal eased a lot of the pain that had developed over the years. Starscream guided Tari in her efforts and covered for her when she returned to the Wreckers. He laid low when she wasn't around and taught her as much of the old culture of fliers as possible. Over time, the wounds healed, and Starscream was able to proudly call himself Tari's mentor. Optimus was not made aware of Starscream's station in Tari's life until Vos rose into the skies once more and Starscream was there to announce Tari is official heir. It was a shock to say the least, but Tari relished in the companionship of her old secondary caretaker.
"Thank you for coming back with me."
"Thank you for giving me a second chance. To see Vos rise once more is a far greater accomplishment than anything I ever did during the war."
"You aren't so bad Starscream."
"HA! Lord Megatron would have a thing or two to say about that!"

Feudal Au: Arranged Marriage
Winglord Starscream is forced into an arranged marriage with the Prince of Kaon, Megatron. (Termagax, Megatron's mentor is canonically friends with Starscream so I think it would be silly if she made her son get married lol)
Starscream is Low-key kinda grossed out because he's xenophobic but Kaon is a powerful State with a near monopoly on weapon manufacturing so whatever, he'll marry his friend's son. But of course you won't find Starscream living in Kaon so Megatron has to adopt an aerial alt-mode and live in Vos.
Megatron absolutely hates heights and living in an aerie with no railings at all is absolute torture and they are always at eachothers throats untill uh oh Megatron is pregnant and it is not Starscream's(it's actually Thundercracker's oop) but Starscream isn't really mad because one of his Trine sired it so it's ok.
I just want Bomber Megs pregnant ok he's too skinny
Oh yeah. That's the culture clash I like in my arranged marriages. Starscream is repulsed by the fact that he has to get married to a non-flier, and someone as lowly as Megatron… but he has to stomach it, if he wants to keep good relations with Kaon. Megatron feels insulted by being passed on as just any common bride, but there's little he can do if he wants to gain political power.
Megatron and Starscream fucking hate each other with a burning passion. After their mandatory consummation night, they haven't even touched each other… Starscream arranged for two separate rooms to be set up, so they don't even sleep next to each other for show. It's very clearly a political marriage, a union in name only.
hgrhh Megatron getting knocked up by Thundercracker and not Starscream is soooo good. They manage to save it from a nation-wide scandal by implying that since Thundercracker is part of Starscream's trine, old traditions dictate that he may share his conjux with his trinemates freely. Starscream is frustrated and insulted, but it is an heir to the winglord that Megatron is carrying…

Behold!
The Almighty Winglord of Vos, Starscream!
[AU ramblings and design choices explained under cut!]
AU Info
Starscream as of right now is Winglord of Vos, as a treat :3
Before being the leader though he had studied Science in Iacon, to prove he could
(the above statement is my excuse to have Skyfire bcus I love skyfire)
Vos is known as the City of the Eclipse since a group of moths are called an eclipse (hence the Eclipse type thing I have going on with his Trine ornaments)
He does have a crown that'd be based off the Radiance (whom I have in here as kinda the "first seeker" but that is a work in progress)
Skywarp and Thundercracker are still his trinemates in this because I could never separate them
I kept his eyes yellow instead of red simply bcus it looked cooler imo (and worked better for the hollow knight thing I have going on ofc)
Considered a great leader bcus he knows how to argue with his people without resorting to violence
However Moths I have planned to kinda be similar to the Mantis Tribe in HK in which they know how to fight but in their own society I like the head canon some have that the Seekers find order in a healthy dose of arguing :3c
Lastly, while most Moths from Vos are taught to fold their wings (which is an idea I stole from Bug Fables) Starscream does not bcus his wings aren't wide enough to do so properly (however he will use the excuse that he can do whatever he wants and its a power play)
Design Choices
While making the characters I tried to think overall what bug might fit specific types of bots (Seekers as Moths [For the most part], Praxians as Wasps [for now], ect.)
Besides that they are less based on how the bugs act but how they look (with tweaks of course)
This is the Scarlet Bodied Wasp Moth
This moth was picked bcus the designs I had in mind making this were G1 Starscream as well as Windblade Comics Starscream (seen below in the wip)
I changed things to my liking of corse, especially when Hollow Knight-ifying it but we'll end with that
Please feel free to ask about the AU, im going insane
(you're also free to recommend certain bots and bugs for them!!!)

im begging and pleading for knock out to be in earthspark so i have more koss fuel. for me the ideal dynamic would be 'knock out is uncle starscream's scary ass friend who isnt allowed around the terrans without supervision' lmfao
like. listen ive never been a fan of knock out being anything resembling a very good single parent in wildbreak aus bc by god i dont think he'd cope at all with that. he just really doesn't know what to do with kids. like what's he supposed to talk to them about? knock outs the guy who starts talking to a 5 yr old about taxes. bumblebee does not particularly trust him and imo unlike tfp beebs who i think becomes ko's strange little inter-generational racing buddy, cranky old earthspark bee thinks knock out similar to swindle and. probably rightfully so. also breakdown's ex? why not. that's funny. breakdown and ko are totally chill. bumblebee is not.
earthspark ko in my head would be a deserter whose been hanging out on earth doing his own thing and he's not been afraid to slice and dice some unlucky mechs for energon to he can keep surviving. he would NOT subject himself to underground fights. little respect for big m or big o, wants very much so to return to cybertron.
since starscream has his own actual emotional support group this time i feel like inversely from tfp, starscream's moooore emotionally available and obviously pining, they probably have ~history~ but knock out got sick and tired of starscream's constant back and forthing on top of the little mini tyrant act so knock out is NOT interested but likes to hang around his old bitching buddy and can be tempted to help out with injuries if starscream can get him some niceties...
(fanfic concept that lives in my head is GHOST has been keeping a bunch of cybertronian stuff since imprisoning so many of them and opens the door to allow mechs to get their stuff back but starscream keeps stealing like. high grade and chamois cloths and wax and crap like that to woo knock out with lol)
hashtag thinks its all very much like her soap operas. starscream's sisters tease him endlessly about WINGLORD OF VOS pining after a grounder.

I was really drowsy earlier and i thunk up some lore for my dynastyAU about soundwaves backstory. Buckle up yall this is a long one
Vos is a very large region of cybertron that was split up into four parts in order to make ruling easier. Vos is also one of the last two regions on cybertron that uses a monarchy. It was split up into northern, eastern, southern, and western kingdoms, each with its own ruling family. Eastern Vos is actually the biggest kingdom, both in size, population, and military, as its main focus is security and weapons development. Starscream, his trine, and most of the other seekers originate from eastern Vos, with Starscream being the last ruler before his whole power hungry usurping of the rest of Vos and the start of the great war.
Eastern, western, and northern Vos are completely cut off from the rest of cybertron and do not allow outsiders into their territory. They only allow trade and communication between the other parts of Vos and with other Vosians. Northern Vos is a lot more lenient with this policy as apposed to western and eastern Vos as both kingdoms see cross communication as treason and the punishment for being caught is severe. Southern Vos is vastly different and the rulers actually encourage interactions with other cybertronians.
Southern Vos was ruled by Empress Skyline. Long story short, she fell in love with a grounder before she was crowned Empress and after she ran away and had their first sparkling together she was found and brought back home. The grounder, a mech named Chambertune, snuck i to Vos to rescue here and was also caught, no surprise there, and was about to be executed when Skyline came running in and put herself between the excecutioner and her conjunx. She argues with her parents, theres an emotional moment, Chambertune is released, and for her bravery and idk true spark or something, shes crowned Empress as her parents retire from ruling and make Chambertune the royal ambassador and he deals with customs or something. Basically they put him in charge of opening the borders and integrating their society. Fun times yay.
So they had their first child, her name is Hurricane (theres a reason why please just trust me), while Skyline was in her running away era, and after she ascended to the throne, her and Chambertune proceeded to have six more sparklings over the course of several million years. Soundwave was the very last sparkling they had together. In this AU he also ends up working for Senator Ratbat but there is a lot that happens before that.
What i meant when i said Starscreams power hungry usurping of the rest of Vos, is that this dude went absolutely apeshit. The second he was crowned Winglord, all he wanted was more power. I wanna be clear that he is not a bad guy. Hes just incredibly spoiled and his entire childhood was his parents constantly feeding his ego about when he would finally be the ruler of eastern vos. Hes like 19-20 when hes put in charge. But once he got the throne it was horrifyingly anticlimactic. He expected to feel a lot more than he actually did and it was upsetting. He spent years yearning for this power and then once he got it, it wasnt enough. So the gears in his dumb little brain began to turn and he schemed an honestly terrible idea but bc he was Winglord, no one was brave enough to tell him other wise, not even his own brothers.
His plan was to take over the other nations of Vos. Spoiler alert, he did it. Vos was unified into one again. The ruling familys were taken captive and if they didnt bow to him, they were removed from the equation. His biggest problem was Southern Vos. Because of how they had been integrating their society for millennium before he was even created, half of the population was comprised of grounders. This didnt bode well with his ideal kingdom of Vos so he set his military wild. What they did to Southern Vos was genocide. They took the fliers and killed the grounders. The hybrids and halfbreeds were kept alive in hopes of breeding out the grounder genes.
Empress Skyline, Chambertune, and their three eldest children fought Starscreams military off the best they could while the younger four children fled the kingdom. They were unfortunately, spotted by a lost soldier, who reported to a general about the four escapees. That same lost soldier fire two rockets at them, intending to block their path but hit too close to them and knocked two of the kids out. The oldest of the four, who was not knocked unconscious, stopped to check on the younger two while Soundwave, a bit disoriented and dizzy, ran in a random direction. His brother saw him run but he was too far away to hear his call. As he reached the border, a stray rocket him close to him and the shockwave knocked him across. The blast also hit his left side and messed up a lot of wires and connectors in his processors, knocking him out and giving him amnesia and reducing his processing ability, leaving him mostly mute.
then it pretty much follows the idw backstory with him being found and taken in by ravage, buzzsaw, and laserbeak. I havent thunken how to weave in his telepathy but i have somewhat of an idea. In this au, outlier abilities are a mutation. that mutation gene, in rare cases, can be passed down genetically to offspring. Its more likely for a sparkling to have an outlier ability if both parents have the mutation gene. In this case, Chambertune has that mutation gene but Skyline does not. Out of their 7 offspring, only 3 of them, have the gene. Is a lot more than usual but thats only bc an ancestor of Skyline had a very weak outlier ability that was only usable when he was in danger. Hurricane is one of them (her original name was changed once her outlier ability developed), Soundwave of course is another, and i havent decided on a name for the last outlier child but his power is one of my favorites.
yeah yeah so hes found by those three, he spends a little while with them, then in a little stealing from the rich stunt, he gets caught by senator ratbat cuz it was his place they were stealing from. Ravage, bs, and lb are able to get away bur soundwave isnt so lucky. Ratbat finds out about his telepathy (hes got like three different powers but those dont show up until later) and decides “hey ur useful! Mine now” and adopts him. Hes a terrible person and an even worse dad but we’re not getting into that right now.
but yeah thats like the gist of the lore. Some of it is still in development so im open to suggestions for a few things, one of which is names for soundwaves 5 other siblings (two femmes, three mechs), and also maybe a better resolution for Skyline reconnecting with her parents and becoming Empress bc i have not thought that era through

semi unpopular opinion? i know i mentioned it before, but i never really liked the vosonian prince/wing lord starscream aus. and i get why now. while i understand why they're so common, to me it just doesn't match starscream as a character, because starscream is a person who isn't born with shit he wants, he has to scheme, steal, and bribe to get what he wants, whether he deserves it or not. that is what makes starscream ambitious, that's what makes his character. the character who is always plotting and always trying to get what he wants, that's why i love him at least.
what he wants and what he thinks he deserves isn't something he's created or born with. he is envious of people who do have that, and when he sees they have it and he wants it, he takes it because he hates being powerless. After all, a character like him has been powerless many times, and knows how easily it can be stripped from it.
in idw, he was cold constructed, scammed, swindled, lied, and cheated to make it to the top. none of that was because he was royalty or born with it.
to me, he is a great pretender. he pretends that he's always been apart of that life, that he was created for it, but he has to fight, and that's what makes him interesting.
he doesn't take things by 'good' means, and it is arguable whether or not he deserves half of what he has, but the point of this post is to say that the wing lord/royality aus IMO just never fit the character presented to us in canon. not that they're bad, i just see how most of the fandom clings on to those aus and tropes for him, and i just always thought that while it matched him from an outside perspective, deep down inside, it wasn't ever a hc that seemed like starscream.
i think, at least in my personal hc for him, the only way he could be winglord or royal is if he killed the royals and took their crowns and their titles. even he murdered the winglords and proclaimed himself one. but it couldn't be something he was given or born with,
#starscream#transformers#that's honestly what makes him and megatron so similar#esp in idw#they had shit taken from them#they saw what power could do to get them their needs and liberation#so they took it

TFP AU lore (subject to some change.)
[Shout out to @nevis-the-skeleton ,which is where some of my favorite origins lore comes from!]
Starscream was originally a scientist in training before being accused of murdering his partner due to being a cold-construction. The only reason he won his trial was due to the City State of Vos (A Stratocracy) stepping in and investigating the court for fraud. In return Starscream felt like he owed the city his life and freedom, and therefore chose to devote the rest of his life in defense of the bots of Vos. He was a relatively low ranking officer in politics and was only really known for his trial, which represents the Vosian loyalty and honor to it’s citizens, and being the representative of district B-011. That is until Tarn started The Bombing of Vos, which resulted in a power vacuum for the city state when one the buildings that had been bombed was the Central Vosian Tower where a council meeting had been taking place. This left Starscream as only one of three officers(and the only one willing to take leadership of Vos after the other two 'vanished') left alive due to him waking up late, because of his older brother Skywarp unplugging the alarm during a tussle the night before.
This left Starscream desperately trying to pull together Vos after being dropped into a rank high above what he used to be as the new Governor and Winglord of Vos, the first to hold both titles since the early Golden Age. During this tumultuous time he also had his first meeting with Megatron who had offered a large stockpile of supplies ,weapons , and mecha to assist in rebuilding in return for Vos joining forces with the Decepticon cause. And since Vos had not had any of it’s previous allies answer it’s calls for help, Starscream was forced into accepting. He placated his nervous and paranoid processor with the knowledge that the Decepticons were fighting for the universal freedom of both cold constructs and mechs below the delta-class and would assist his people to the best of their abilities.
[I might have a segment on Vos at some point <.< ]

(The polar star au,part6) quick question if the children ask their how they meet each other what would they respond, I mean they can’t just say they meet in war right.
/!\ Beware BIG SPOILERS about "The Polar Star" PART 6 /!\ don't read if you don't read it. (It's only in french on Wattpad for now)
So! No, indeed, they cannot say that. The war was never mentioned for the Sparklings, so other reasons for meeting must be found. For couples, it's not really complicated, most of them were formed before the war.
It's just that, for example, Starscream and Skyfire never told Northlight that they were separated for thousands of years, and that Sky found himself trapped in ice.
As for Arcee and Springer, they told Trash that they met at work, since they now work as police officers.
Dreadwing and Wheeljack told Twitch that Seekers and Wreckers often have missions in common (which in itself is not a lie, even if it's not how they met).
Soundwave works in the Senate, and Starscream is the Winglord. Although Northlight doesn't know that her CreaStar is the Winglord, she knows that sometimes he goes to the Senate. So they told him that they met like that.
For KnockOut and Starscream, the Seeker joked that KO hit on him heavily at a bar, and then they ended up getting along as friends (which isn't far from reality, because KnockOut practically flirted with all the Decepticons. He calmed down over time, much to Breakdown's relief).
Then the other relationships were supposedly made little by little. Arcee and Starscream pretended to get along while they waited for their Sparklings outside the school.
Also, Northlight thinks that Optimus and Ratchet are the Creators of Starscream (which is not false in itself, but the adoption happened very late, contrary to what she thinks). She thinks that they are the ones who raised him (that's not wrong either, but hey).
Thundercraker and Skywarp are the Spark's brothers of Starscream, she understood that they had no real connection, but they still loved each other like brothers.
For the Predacons, the Sparklings are unaware that they were artificially created, just like the Vehicons and Insecticons. They just think it's other species that inhabit Cybertron. Steve and Predaking also have positions in the Senate, so they pretend that they meet like that. And, the children met through the parents.
The only thing the Sparklings really know is that there were other planets in the past, but they "fell ill" and were therefore unlivable. They also know that there are the Caminus and the Velocitronians, but that they just don't have a planet anymore, and that the All-Spark caused them to be born on Cybertron instead.
On the other hand, they are unaware of Cold Constructions, even their existence. Soundwave, Starscream, and Blurr didn't really know how to explain their situation to the kids. It was far too complicated, and above all, far too difficult to tell them about their genocide, especially at such a young age.
In addition, some of the Cybertronians participated more or less indirectly, and most are Creators. So it was the Spark heavy that the Cold Constructions decided to keep their pain to themselves, even though Optimus is still looking for a way to share their story.
I hope I answer some of your questions ^^!

Regarding your response to my post- I totally agree with you on the Wing Lord/Vosonian prince AU for Starscream. I don't really like it, at all but it seems to be such a popular adopted fandom HC. I think that it's more fitting for Starscream's character to be someone who fights for what he wants, regardless of how he does it, and gets it. The idea of him being cold constructed but still able to get things and positions outside of his caste is always appealing. Him, despite being extremely devious and cunning, getting what he wants no matter the cost always is more fitting rather than him being born just getting everything. I'm always going to like the idea of him being seen as someone who schemes himself to the top to get what he wants, rather than someone who was created and it was just given to him because that fits his character way more.
No hate or shame to anyone who prefers the winglord/vosonian prince aus, i just never saw it being fitting for his character.
(this is @cosmics-beings btw!! i was going to respond to your post but i just wanted to also send this to you via ask)
THANK YOUUU <3 YOU GET IT <3
starscream just wouldn't be the same person if he grew up being handed everything he wanted. the sort of ambition and cunning ruthlessness we see from him is not that of a prince who's been denied something he wants; if that were the case he'd throw a glorified temper tantrum. instead, he smiles and instantly begins planning how to get what he wants on his own. he never expects anything to be handed to him. he is always prepared to fight for what he desires. that, to me, speaks of a lifetime of being denied.
i can see why people like the vosian prince trope; fandom loves their royalty. but me, i will never enjoy it, because i feel like it takes away from his character far too much. he's a survivor. a scrapper who fights his way to the top. and thats a huge part of why i love him.

winglord starscream au: different ways, same care.
In comparison to optimus, starscream was a much harsher leader on his own troops.
But honestly, he kinda has to be, his troops are erratic and completely chaotic, even on their good of days.
Skywarp loves to get on everyone's nerves, humans included, and gets extra encouragement from skyquake, who some how, some way, gets all sorts of ingredients for elaborate pranks on the autobots.
The conehead have no cohesion whatsoever, always bickering and breaking something in their useless fighting, and no regard for authority or any respect for anyone smaller than them.
The rainmakers? They're unbelievable loud, no inside voice whatsoever and so mean spirited, roughhousing galore and whining that the other one stole something from the other.
The only well behaved ones are slipstream and thundercracker (and optimus sees why starscream looks so tired all the time)
Of course, everyone at base was annoyed, they could barely get any actual sleep nowadays, no thanks to the coneheads or the rainmakers, and optimus tried to reason with them.
Keyword, tried.
The seeker held no care nor respect for optimus authority, and continued on with their shenanigans.
Until starscream dragged them out and verbally beaten their disrespect out of them.
He spent at least a good chunk of a hour cursing them out in vosian (and yes, ratchet enjoy every bit of it lol)
It was.....disconcerting to the autobots, to say the least.
And this became a common occurrence in the base.
Starscream's seekers go on a regime of chaos, starscream yells it out, they tone down, rinse and repeat.
And it was weird, the autobot structure was so wildly different from those of the decepticons.
Starscream didn't seem to bothered by it, like it was normal, his harsh, uptight attitude to his troops coupled with the casual insults they throw at eachother really made it seem that he doesn't care.
Boy was he glad to be wrong.
It was a simple energon raid, it was supposed to be easy.
Then one of the rainmakers got shot down, right at the wing hinges, and things went from 0 to 10000 in a instance.
Long story short, optimus knew now why seeker group is called a murder, and they got away with way more energon than they expected.
Returning to base with a terrified novastorm chriping like a injured sparkling was so gut wrenching, but starscream?
Oh he wouldn't leave novastorm side the entire night, like a watchful parent, as miko puts it.
The following moring he gets hit with a...disturbing revelations.
"I apologise for the last mission blunder-"
"No, what happened was out of your control starscream, no need for apologies..."
His wings were pressed tightly against his back, and he looked doubtful, scared.
"I should've trained them better, this shouldn't have happened-"
"Starscream-"
"Don't..-"
He looked choked up, terrified
"Don't punish them for this....please... it will be better next time i promise my lord-.."
And things made sense.
Starscream had to be harsh on his troops, else they face megatron's unbridled rage, any mistakes they do is costly, and he , as the winglord, cannot let any harm touch his seekers, no matter what.
And starscream seemed to have realized his own blunder and fled the scene immediately.
Starscream is a harsh leader on his troops, but he has to be.
He has to

Help, I am getting stuck in this cycles over and over without actually finish any story that I want to write.
I get ideas or AU that make me interested to write -> realising that i need to lay down some setting or background to make story worked, so I started plotting -> executive dysfunction/ procrastination kicking in because I have trouble of putting ideas in my head into paper and due ‘perfectionism complex’ I get boggled by detail -> I stared at empty document for several day -> I lost interest and motivation in writing for several day/week -> cycle started over again.
I can’t exactly force myself to write because it will extend the period of “I stared at an empty document for several day -> I lost interest and motivation in writing for several day/week” to months. Any suggestion how to deal with this cycle?
I do actually have some suggestions! I have several, in fact.
One: If you are suffering from creative burnout after being overwhelmed, try just giving it a break. I know this is the simplest option, but seriously, step back and engage with some new media for a few minutes. You may get ideas, or at any rate, your mind will have the chance to unwind for a bit. And do know, that sometimes some things do just have to cook. I've left fics for months at a time and come back with a banger chapter after letting it be and getting my mind sorted out for a while first. If you really love it, you'll be back eventually.
Two: Play into that need to make it right by hyperfixating on ONE aspect of the thing you are working on. It may sound counter productive, but I've found that by bunkering down with one specific detail or plot piece or even bits of the lore, it can actually help spiral out into other subjects that need to be addressed. Like, while working on lore for an au, it can get really overwhelming to think about ALL of the world. So instead, I'll pick one character, one time period, one plot point. Then, I'll expand on that one thing until it starts to tie in with other points. From there, I'll just move from point to point, connecting the pieces of the web. Here's an example:
Premise > supporting premise > supporting premise > tie in lore.
Starscream is Winglord of Vos > He was forced into the position and separated from his brothers > He is a brilliant leader but bitter because of his role > He joined up with Megatron after Vos burned in a need for revenge.
Once you hit the tie in lore, you can swap focus to begin working on the other character or subject. This will help you tie everything together in a cohesive manner (at least it helps me). Being able to make everything connect up may fight that feeling of being overwhelmed.
Three: Talk to someone about it. I cannot stress enough how brilliant some of my friends have been in helping me refine a concept. Find a willing victim Friend, and tell them about your concept. Let them give you feedback and ideas. The more fun you both have, the better. More thoughts and ideas will give you more to play with. And if nothing else, even if you don't continue with the idea, you won't feel quite as defeated because you got to talk about it.

"Advent Advent mein Soulmate brennt"
A Transformers Soulmate Adventcalendar
Day 1
Ship: Soundwave x Starscream
AUs: Red String of Fate, Pre-War
Soundwave was always cautious about the red string wrapped around one of his digits, the pits not a place he would wish to a possible soulmate. As he one day notices the string move he can't help, but worry.
Every Transformer knew the stories of Soulmates. Not every bot had one, but all knew the stories of the red string that promised you a perfect partner.
Soundwave wasn't too sure of what to think of it. While he was one of the few mechs with the red string of fate, he didn't know if he'd actually like to meet them. The pits weren't a place he'd wish for any bot. Kaon was dirty, lacked most recourses, and the gladiator pits were a dangerous and bloody place.
"Soundwave, you should stop thinking about it so hard. It will either happen or not. " The voice of his best friend, and the champion of the pit, interrupted his thoughts. He turned his helm so he faced Megatronus and tilted his it slightly as he replied. "Soundwave: reasonably concerned. Soulmate: could be anyone. String: has moved again. ", For most, it might have sounded monotonous, but Megatronus could hear both the worry and the curiosity.
The visor shifted away from Megatronus once more and turned towards the string wrapped around his finger, where it gingerly moved and grew more taunt, indicating that his soulmate is once more moving closer.
However, before either of the two gladiators can talk or think further about the matter of Soundwave's soulmate, the arena owner called them over as their next fights were about to start. As Megatronus gave him a last clap on the shoulder before walking over, Soundwave throws a last glance at the string before following after him.
When his creators first realized that he had a soulmate, they were ecstatic, but then it became clear that, against their assumptions, it wasn't a Seeker like them, or well, no Seeker in Voss at least. Starscream himself wasn't quite sure what to think about it.
For one, the fact that he even had a soulmate meant that he had to be special, right? But he was also not sure if he could accept a ground pounder as his soulmate. Even just the fact that he was the future winglord and ruler of the flying city alone would make that an overly complicated endeavour.
No matter. Others may call him arrogant, idiotic, or disloyal, but here he was using his university breaks to look through the different parts of Cybertron and space to find his soulmate. Or well, that is what he used to do, a scowl building on Starscream's faceplate as he pulled his cloak closer around him.
It was the first time he'd had time to search in a couple of vorns. After getting accused of mundering his best friend and getting kicked out of the university, he fled the prejudiced grip of Iacon as fast as possible. At first he cursed himself for not planning ahead and ending up in Kaon, of all places, but then he noticed his string shift and a mix of extasy, fear, and pure curiosity rushed through him.
And then he noticed the bigger mechs trying to surround him without drawing attention towards themselves.
As it was usual for him, Soundwave watched Megatronus' back as the champion treated his battle injuries. The fights had been longer than usual, but, thankfully, not harder.
Thus, the retained injuries didn't take overly long to treat and weren't much of a threat to either of the gladiators. "Thank you, Soundwave.", the bulky champion said as he stood up and moved to stand next to his friend as they looked at the other gladiators still in the pit. Soundwave accepted the thanks with a nod.
His optics were unfocused behind his visor as worry filled his processor. When the feeling started, he thought it was due to the fight he was having at that moment, but now he was quite sure it was because of the moving and twitching string. Was it because they were closer or because something was wrong?
Shaking the thought off, he turned to look at Megatronus. "Query: Megatronus going to the bar now?" he asked his friend, and once he nodded, Soundwave gave a nod of understanding. "You will stay and keep an eye out?" was his friend's counter question, and it was quickly answered with another nod of agreement. They continued to talk for a couple of breems, before parting ways.
While Megatronus left the pit, Soundwave made his way towards the rudimentary quarters of the gladiators and started to go over their planned speeches in the near future. Well, Megatronus would speak, and Soundwave would keep watch.
Far sooner than Soundwave had expected, he could feel Megatronus' field once more nearby. Agitated as it felt, Soundwave left the quarters quickly and knew before he even arrived that Megatronus was indeed in the hallway, agitated. His voice was carrieng. The higher, more fine-sounding voice yelling back was new, however.
As he entered the hallway, he seemed to have stepped right into a yelling match. On the one hand, the tall and bulky champion of the Kaon pits, "You could at least say thank you," and on the other, a smaller, more lithe mech, huddled in a cloak that did nothing to conceal the Seekers' ripped wings, "I didn't ask you to help, I can handle myself!" both staring angrily at each other. Then the seeker seemed to spot him, his mouth opening to complain as something seemed to shock him.
"You...", the word was spoken softly, and Soundwave tilted his head in confusion, catching full sight of the red string connecting his servos to the seekers. 'Oh' A smile grew behind his mask.
As Starscream noticed another mech enter, he turned to face the next intruder only to stop short of his tracks. That was his soulmate, and the string connecting them both was a clear indicator.
While not having expected a Gladiator to be his soulmate, he couldn't deny that he at least didn't look bad. As he started at the bigger bot, "You...", he cursed himself for his inability to form a full sentence.
Despite his previous irritation, a small smile grew on his face.
