sometimes i hate being a woman because i just realized i’ve been living vicariously through so many nhl players this entire time because i will literally never make it to that level of professional hockey even though it’s always been my dream. like no matter how hard i work at it or how bad i want it, i will never be good enough because of my gender. it hurts so much to think about the fact that even 100 years from now there will probably still not be room for women in the nhl. little girls will continue to grow up with unachievable dreams because there is nothing in place for them to achieve them. the PWHL only had their inaugural draft this past season. we are over 100 years behind. currently the most you will probably make in the PWHL is $80,000 a year and the average nhl player gets paid $3.5 million per year. that means the HIGHEST PAID women in the PWHL will be paid 43.75 times less than the AVERAGE nhl player. currently, the highest paid nhl player receives $12.6 million per year. 157.5 times less. i’m not even angry about this. it’s just heartbreaking to sit down and think about it sometimes.

Waterrock Knob Trail Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina 1.11 miles 429 ft. Elevation Gain
Well I had one more big hike planned for my trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway that was 10 miles, but my body was super tired, and since the mountain was 20 minutes off the parkwayI decided to give my body a break and just do this last little hike, Waterrock Knob. It was an easy trail, paved most of the way. A pretty nice hike and view foe the final hike of the parkway. I am going to miss these views. <3

She blinks, waiting for an actual answer, her sweet smile returning once she gets one. She's in, or at least in enough that they're having a drink together. That's usually all it takes for Cass to find someone to spend a night with, but she'll see how easy it is to charm this particular person. "I'm drinking an AMF. It's basically a blue long island iced tea." She sets her empty glass down on the bar and takes a step closer, her fingers brushing casually against their arm. "But what are you drinking? Let me take care of it."

people really need to get a grip. The pale blue eye is a book set in 1830s, why are you surprised that there’s misogyny in the film?

I loooooove drag that really commits to the concept of being strange and unbelievable. I know next to nothing about drag but like. juno birch trixie mattel. when the point of the act is the extreme, the exaggeration. I love when drag looks like drag. on purpose. huge hair that looks like a wig. huge features and crazy colors and outfits that are fantastical and impractical. drag that just looks like a beautiful woman is impressive but feels boring to me. idk.

My Favorite Books I Read in 2023 (In No Particular Order)
Check out these books that I loved reading during 2023
In previous years, I’ve limited my favorite books read in a year posts to ten. This year, I decided not to limit myself because I read so many books I absolutely adored in 2023 and I just couldn’t pare them down to ten. As always, not all of these books were published in 2023, but I read all 61 of them between 1st January and 31st December 2023. These were a mixture of fiction and non-fiction,…

OPEN STARTER

Harkening Hill Loop Trail Peaks of Otter, Blue Ridge Parkway, Virginia 3.79 Miles 1,021 ft. Elevation Gain
The last mountain that makes up the Peaks of Otter on the Blue Ridge Parkway is Harkening Hill. It's definitely not as grand as the other two mountains, but this hike was really neat! It has some balancing rocks featured along the trail, and it goes through some meadows, and by a creek which was really nice. The view was obviously not as good as Sharp Top, but the hike itself was really good.
