I am trying to understand Fadel not looking for his bf, but I still feel unconvinced. Hope this doesn't come off as me being rude or stand offish to you...

From the flashback, the dimple bf looked very understanding of Fadel, didn't look like he would get upset for Fadel being secretive and this continued for WHOLE TWO YEARS right? Considering Fadel's personality, of course the first thing that goes through his mind is that bf ghosted him, but I find it hard to believe he would just do nothing about it after two years of dating. Two months of dating, yeah he won't look for him, but TWO YEARS? It's a long time. Fadel must've known where his bf worked or met a couple of his friends, maybe even his family. The way he went to Style's garage and met his father before he knew Style knew about the truth I would assume he must've known his bf's circle to some degree.

And even if he didn't look for him, wouldn't bf's friends contact him, ask him if he knows where he went? What about social media? Surely his family would update something on his account that he was missing even if they didn't know he was dead? We know Fadel looked up internet to find out Style was a friend of Kant and Style winning a competition, so I don't think his believeing he's unworthy or worrying about bf's reaction of finding out the truth will deter him from checking up social media for a minute.

Another thing- we now know bf was killed, but he could've just gotten into a car accident or was involved in some crime by accident. That is totally possible even in real life. Like imagine if bf was hit by a car or something and regained consciousness in the hospital after a week and find out that Fadel didn't even look for him because he thought he was ghosted? This bf was the first person he wanted so much that he was willing to quit his assassin life and he was just about to quit. It doesn't really make sense for Fadel to not look for his bf.

So, I didn’t really have time to deep dive into all the reasons why I was ok with Fadel not looking for his ex, because of sick kiddos, but I have some time now. (and by the way I love this discourse! I love talking about these characters and having different opinions so I am so happy that so many of you guys are engaging with me about this topic!!) 

I think for me personally, I am assuming a lot of things, because when it comes down to it, this show is kind of shitty with showing, and even telling us, the history and backstories of these characters. I’ve said it multiple times, but I have to suspend my belief for this show because I love the characters so much lol But the timelines and backstories are so shitty, guys. If we had more episodes, so much more of their tragic backstories could have been fleshed out and we could have had a deeper understanding of their behaviors and not have to ASSUME things. 

So, going back to my assumptions on Fadel. A lot of folks are rightfully upset about him not looking for his ex, because it’s unfathomable to us that he just wouldn’t care or look or wonder. Because for us, we would be so concerned! We would want answers! We would want justice for our broken hearts! And yes, all of those things are true and are things he probably felt, but here is where my assumptions about him come in. 

Assumption number one: (It’s only number one because I already made a post about it lol)  I ASSUME he told or let slip something to his ex about either the kind of work he does, or the shady shit Khun Mae does, because he makes a comment to Style about him thinking his ex was AFRAID of him. I don’t speak Thai, so these things can also be translation issues, but I took that comment to mean that he had to have at least hinted at something, otherwise why would the guy be afraid of Fadel after knowing him for so long? 

Number two: AND this is the assumption that is my whole driving force behind my feelings on Fadel and his responses to his ex disappearing. It’s that Khun Lily/Mae is an ABUSIVE bitch. Which yeah, we know she’s bad news bears, but seriously. Her manipulation and brainwashing of Fadel has impacted him in a very negative way, other than ya know, making him into a killer. I grew up with an abusive and narcissistic step father, and in the brief moments we see her, she gives me the same icky feeling I had when I had to deal with him. SO, I ASSUME Khun Mae’s abuse is another factor for why Fadel just….gave up and didn’t search. 

Because Khun Lily was right there, IN HIS EAR, the whole relationship. She probably even sounded so nice and sincere when bringing up negative things, like “I’m only saying this because I’m worried about you.” Or “are you sure you can trust this boy?”  “There are reasons why we don’t date in this line of work, Fadel. You may get your heart broken.” “I guess you have my permission to date him, but don’t get upset if it goes south,” “Of course you can stop killing people and go be happy. That’s what I want for you….but don’t worry, if anything happens, I will be right here with open arms.” 

So then the moment the ex disappears she is up his ass whispering “I told you so,” “Look what happens when you don’t listen to mother” “Relationships never work out in this line of work, sweetie,”  “See, he never loved you. He couldn’t even deal with a little blood” ETC. And Keen could have also been a part of all of that, because he seemed to know everything about the situation with the ex. AND I don’t see Khun Mae just sitting ideally for two years either. I assume both she and Keen could have been playing little games in the background because that is what people like them do. I literally wouldn’t be surprised if the ex found out about Fadel because KEEN fucking told him. 

(And honestly, if Fadel hadn’t said that they had been together two years, I wouldn’t have thought that possible, because how can you hide that you are a hitman for TWO FUCKING YEARS with how shitty of a liar Fadel seems to be in those flashbacks?? Narratively that makes no sense to me and if I were writing a fic about it, I would chop that time in half at least, otherwise it is very unbelievable unless the ex was just gullible AF and didn’t care that his boyfriend was hiding HUGE parts of his life from him and make so many excuses about why they can’t run off together yet)

So, Yeah, I assume SO MUCH about Fadel because KHUN LILY is an abuser that has warped these men’s whole sense of self. I was not shocked that he didn’t look for him because all of the fears he had, all the whispers Khun Mae had planted in his ear, seemingly came true when he stopped responding to messages. I do think he wanted to look for him or wanted to get closure, but he talked himself out of it because of his conditioning. What is the point in going against mother? When she just keeps being proven right? 

(OR, and this is just a head canon like most things lol, I can also see him being kind of wary of her and going along with everything in order to just survive and protect Bison. I do think there would have had to be more going on behind the scenes for Fadel to go from wanting to run off with his boyfriend and leave Bison, (unless he was planning on taking him with him, which I can also see being something he would have wanted to do)  to having Bison be his top priority. He protects Bison and takes the fall/blame for failings and tries to warn Bison from telling Khun Mae things. So, a part of me even wonders if deep deep down, he kind of knew that something shady happened but he didn’t want to question it because it would mean he’d have to face something even MORE horrific and he just mentally couldn’t handle that at the time.  Which kind of goes along with what you said about social media and looking things up. Fadel is a planner and he wants to know everything! So why didn't he look his ex up??? Again...because he didn't want to know. Either he didn't' want to see him happy and living life without him, OR he didn't want to see the truth that he disappeared from more than just Fadel's life, but from the world itself)

BUT I have SO MANY thoughts on Khun Mae and what she’s mentally, emotionally, and physically done to these boys that isn’t even talked about on the show, but I think is implied just because of the very nature of her adopting them to train them to be hitmen in the first place. I blame a lot of Fadel's wishy washiness with the ex on her lol

Anyways, I hope that helps. And I totally understand that a lot of people will still not like this take and think Fadel is awful/stupid/OOC for not looking for his ex, but that’s the beauty of fandom. We can all see these characters and interpret them differently, and that’s ok. I’m not going to say that you guys can’t be upset or angry with him for being so naive to think he was ghosted and not question it. I GET THAT. I think he SHOULD HAVE. (and if I would have written this show, he WOULD have lol) But I just think there were multiple reasons why he just…gave up instead.

it's extremely critical that you see the photo of the perp walk for luigi mangione as being propaganda. i've seen so many people wave it off and instead fawn over his looks. and trust me, i know it ended up being kind of pathetic and weird - but please don't brush it off as a "modelling opportunity" for him. it's a fucking terrifying message the police are sending.

i want to make a few comparisons here, in case you're not from the US or familiar with why the perp walk thing is something to pay attention to. just to set the groundwork for why this is a purposeful, unusual, and cruel act by the nyc police - for why this is not a common occurrence and for why that matters.

the prosecution alleges the show of force is due to the charge of "terrorism." for comparison, in june 2015, tsarnaev was found guilty for the boston marathon bombing, which killed 3 people and injured hundreds. his actions are considered to be an act of domestic terrorism. i have spent the last hour looking through google for pictures of similar to mangione's perp walk - and so far, i have found zero. i also just do not personally remember a moment like that, despite living in boston at the time.

they allege that luigi is a stone-cold killer who carried out a longterm plan, making him particularly dangerous. again for comparison: in nyc, recently cory martin was found guilty of the killing of brandy odom. the murder was planned and premeditated to steal insurance money. and yet no staged perp walk. why didn't her life matter enough for a "show of force"?

but mangione gets paraded by a veritable army of police officers as if he is a rabid animal. for a single citizen who allegedly killed one other single citizen, the "largest perp walk ever" occurs.

so what is the "strong message" that the mayor and the police were trying to send here? the mayor speaks as if mangione is already convicted of terrorism. there is a very thin number of people who feel threatened by the CEO's death. none of us felt like mangione needs to be under massive armed guard.

the message is that you shouldn't resist. they are trying to "make an example" of him - that if you behave badly and kill a single rich person, you'll be treated as if you killed hundreds of people. you will be treated worse than a man who was found guilty of terrorism. you will be considered guilty without trial. the message is that the rich are a protected class, and you cannot touch them without massive punishment. they are trying to prevent a revolution by showing dominance and force against you.

the message is that the police are a puppet of the wealthy and that the law is not equally applied across class disparity. it is "some are more equal than others." it is "one life is more precious than another."

the show of force wasn't for luigi. it was for us. it was a warning. they are trying to remind us who is really in control.

-In the one where he comes back and the baby's already there, Eggman does a terrible job as a father the few first months, but then he gets the hang of it and it's not so bad.

>"Surprisingly, I'm a good father" he thinks one day and it's because he's still very much an orphan here with no frame of comparation or example aside from researching the matter.

-In the one where they wait for her together, he does all the research necessary in all those months, absolutely refusing in doing an average job in that matter, he's the great Ivo Robotnik c'mon. He excels at anything and he'll be a great father (jk he's terrified of fucking up).

-The Stobotnik family is an evil but loving family, like the bears in Puss in Boots whwh criminal family✨

-For the funny of it, Sonic and Eggman got a sort of relationship like in Sonic Boom, so sometime maybe our favorite boy, Tails and Knuckles had to look after their child.

-Also since Knuckles broke Stone's and Robotnik's hands with their handshake, let's have him handle the baby with the most careful grip ever, just to demonstrate that he didn't have to grab their hands that hard aksdjask

-She's a big fan of Sonic and friends (Sonic the Hedgehog, not Sonic Wachowski, the second guy hadn't done even half the things she admires him for, but no one has the heart to tell her when she's a kid). Has a bunch of merch and all the comics of Sonic the Hedgehog.

>When she's a teenager she proudly uses her Sonic backpack in the same way Deadpool uses his Hello Kitty backpack.

-BTW Sonic, Knuckles and Tails are all brothers and Maddie and Tom's kids bc that's the best idea ever made.

-ALSO I'm definitely gonna draw that scene where Knuckles was about to put the baby in the blender and Sonic shouts THE CHILI DOG NOT THE BABY. Some day, you'll see pipipi.

-SAGE was created for various reasons, to be her sister (since she wouldn't stop asking for one but neither Stone nor Robotnik were willing in raising another human kid, thanks very much), to protect her, and also to answer the tedious "why?" questions that neither father had the patience for (A+ parenting right there). Maybe she was used for the original purpose too idk (I don't know that sonic game where she debuts).

-On her early months she was called Pebble, because she really was a mini Stone, Robotnik went along with it (bc he also looked at her and only saw his husband whw) until she was a little older and they started calling her by her name.

>Alternatively, since Eggman was gone, Stone waited for him to return in hopes of choosing together a name for their child, and Pebble worked as a placeholder since she was just a bebi.

-She's a spoiled kid and also a little menace, unintentionally evil, she can't help it.

>Good-hearted too sometimes, she loves Sage and does her best to protect her back (it's not necessary but it's appreciated anyways).

-Robotnik calls himself 'daddy' way too much in the live-action movies to ignore it, so he's daddy and Stone's dad (dada when she was younger).

-She has Robotnik's eyes but as big as Stone's. They're the lethal-est sad puppy eyes ever (they work wonders on both parents and other people) (both men got beautiful dark brown eyes with visible eyelashes fight me).

-She's the five-year-old that made Sonic fear them because 'they can be so cruel when they sense weakness' (she was brutally honest as any young kid is).

-Stone and Robotnik got Gomez and Morticia Addams kinda parenting. They see their child beating up someone and they're like:

"What did we do wrong?" (Stone while shaking his head in disappointment) "I know... she lacks resourcefulness." (Eggman) "Exactly, there's her baseball bat right there, why doesn't she use it?"

-Remember that Shadow said in a game that he wouldn't mind taking a candy from a baby? (fandub I think but still) This comes in handy when neither Tails, Sonic or Knuckles want to upset the kid (so Shadow does it instead).

-She plays sports too because she got too much energy. In each of them she loses her patience. She grabs the football and hauls it at the nearest team member, she throws her baseball bat to the ground and starts beating up whoever threw the ball that she missed, she stomps in frustration if she loses, she's great at dodgeball (sends her classmates to the infirmary).

-Throws tantrums and stuff and overall's an annoying kid if she's upset. Eggman's like UGH WHY'S SHE LIKE THIS?? and Stone's like Because of you, doctor (terrible temperament runs in the family and also Robotnik just spoiled her too much).

-I'm kinda dressing her up in the clothes that existed in my mind that supposedly Eggman wore (the weird dress-like jacket with the big zipper in the middle). Under her jacket there's a dress in the same pattern as the original Eggman's clothes, also she wears a baby onesie like that too.

-When she's older she's definitely proud of her fathers, but she doesn't appreciate the rumors that she's prone to go power-crazy like Robotnik did. Especially because it may be true, but what do they know.

-For the irony, she can't stand drinking coffee, but loves the smell of it because it reminds her of home (omg).

-THEY HAVE A PET CAT like I read in some fics and her name is Robot and she's a lil shit and also grumpy like Robotnik.

>Maybe she brings her alive mice to experiment on all sort of stuff (like Pávlov and his dogs and the guy Skinner with his mice and cats (??))

-She gets to hang out with Sonic and friends under the condition of annoying him as much as possible. So, she complies. (She loves Sonic the Hedgehog, but she loves making her fathers happy more).

-Very smart kid but not to the level of Tails or Robotnik at that age, she's just got very good memory and learning skills and knows a lot of stuff ever since she was a little kid. More like a Matilda-kinda intelligence.

-She's a scientist when she grows up too but the kind that makes evil potions and serums and stuff aksjdk probably (chemistry things? biochem idk). She can make silly little robots for the fun of it but it's not her passion, unlike Robotnik and Stone's. PROBABLY. I'm still deciding.

-BTW LOOK (it says 'carefully crafted ploy to distract space porcupines')

Garage Sale

Well, when the Fentons decided to have a garage sale Danny didn't expect many to be interested. His parents were looking for a way to get money quickly to build more stuff, and he jokingly suggested they could sell some inventions, they took it seriously (Jazz made sure to remove all the lethal inventions, she tried with the ones that might be risky but then they wouldn't sell anything).

Danny knew his parents were strange yes, but he wasn't sure that justified millionaires in his backyard. Millionaires, he'd like to clarify, had never set foot in Amity Park before. He raised an eyebrow at the sight of Bruce Wayne and his sons checking out the appliances. None of them seemed to be interested in the "ghosts" but they hadn't backed down from taking some things either.

So yes, Danny was suspicious. Of course he had made sure the inventions in the sale were safe (although unlike Jazz, he simply decided to make them safe, a few modifications here and there), but the fact that they looked genuinely interested made him uneasy.

Were the Waynes interested in hunting ghosts?

He decided to try something, he crossed eyes with one of them and let his green eyes show before looking away, the boy looked alarmed. He approached him and asked, but Danny feigned ignorance, commenting that all the inventions were green and maybe he had been confused by the reflection (to be fair, most of his parents' inventions were green because of the ecto).

For his part, Bruce had received an alert from Justice League Dark, it seemed they had detected a strange energy, similar to magic, so the bats set out to investigate. They didn't expect to find a garage sale in a house in the middle of nowhere (Amity Park wasn't even marked on the fucking map). Nor did they expect advanced technology or mad scientists.

Bruce decided to pretend he had stumbled into town as "Brucie Wayne" and buy a few things. He shuddered to see that many inventions worked with Lazarus water. Jason, who had strangely agreed to come along, was also upset about the son of the scientists.

Bruce questioned whether he had found a family of villains in the making.
