The moisturizer I’ve been happily using for six ish years has been discontinued and the moisturizer the brand had been pushing in its place was both a sensory nightmare (cream that felt very sticky and greasy once on face when I’ve been using a gel that just feels like water to me) and also I started having breakouts after like three weeks of using it so now I have to do the dreaded process of finding new skincare products

YOU WOKE UP with a pounding headache. you could hear your alarm going off. groaning, you turned over in your bed to turn off the alarm. but to your surprise, you accidentally bumped into jenson, who seemed to have fallen asleep in your bed last night, instead.

jenson stirs, eyes opening half-way. "..morning." he murmurs sleepily. "how'd you sleep, love?"

*furrowing your eyebrows, you stammer." "..did i- did we- why are you-?"

"relax, darling." jenson hums. "you drank a *little* too much last night. and no, we didn't do any of the sort. you didn't answer my question."

"i slept.. well, i have a bad headache." you groan, laying back.

"stay her, ill get you more water." jenson assures you, getting up. he leaves the room and head to the kitchen to see sebastian there. jenson raises his eyebrows.

"good morning to you too. did you and my sister..?"

"no no no, it's not like that." jenson mumbles. "shes hungover as fuck, i was just.. taking care of her, alright?"

sebastian gives him a suspicious look, but shrugs it off as he leans on the counter, sipping his coffee.

"uhh, so do you and y/n live together?" jenson asks as he fills up a glass of water.

"oh no, im just staying with her for the time being until the next race comes up." sebastian says.

"ah, nice, i see." jenson nods before going back to your room. "hey, you alright?"

"yeah, i think.." you mumble, drinking your water. "my stomach feels like the insides are all twisted up."

jenson chuckles softly. "rest more, love. you need it."

you lay there for a few minutes, staring up at the ceiling with jenson next to you.

"..hey, jense?" you ask after a few minutes.

"yeah?" he responds immediately.

"thank you." you mumble, turning to him. "thank you for taking care of me."

jenson smiles, pushing your hair away from your face. "anything for a pretty girl like you." he teases.

you laugh, nudging him playfully. "you're a dick."

"oh c'mon, you love me!" jenson grins.

"i do." you giggle.

jenson looks at you tenderly, his eyes filled with adoration.

"augh, this is worse than cramps." you grumble, twisting and turning in bed. you take another sip of water. jenson pushes the hair away from your face, making sure it didn't get in the way. you smile, appreciating the gesture.

"did i do anything.. *weird* last night?" you ask, breaking the silence.

"does dancing like crazy count? to be fair, i've met many people who've done that, so i don't know if that falls into the 'weird' category." jenson teases. you laugh softly, your head falling back.

"i suppose not, but my dancing is definitely crazy." you say jokingly.

"nah, you're definitely better than me." jenson laughs.

"..thanks again, jense. you're an amazing friend." you hum.

jenson smiles, but there's a hint of sadness in his eyes.

you furrow your eyebrows. "is something wrong?"

jenson purses his lips, looking away. "somewhere along the way, you became more than just a friend. i can't keep pretending i love you only as a friend."

Tbh i dont understand the way some ppl are acting completely hopeless about dinos hiatus

When dino said they were going on hiatus, everyone was like "yes ofc dino we'll be waiting take ur time 🥰🥰" but now thats it been like two years some ppl are like "omgg wheres dino 😭😭 chapter 5 is never coming out"

What did you guys think when dino said they were going on a "longer break from game dev"? Like 5 months?

They said they are focusing on their education and that they need a basic source of financial support. In this perspective, 2 years is basically nothing, extremely reasonable if anything.

Also they themselves said that the online expectation of constantly working on games had started to make them question if it consumed their life, and that they were under a lot of pressure trying to make chapter 4 in as short amount of time as possible. And yet people are pressuring them again?

Like i want chapter 5 as much as the next fan but dino is one person

They also said that they do not want to have chapter 4 as the last chapter, that they hope to return in the future to continue and that they never intended to give up game dev so i dont understand why people think its never coming out. Its been 2 years not 10 lol

And even then it is their decision

Btw I've seen some ppl also say that maybe we should make/write chapter 5 and 6 ourselves instead, which, though i dont agree with the "canon is discontinued forever!!!" thing, i do think its a decent idea to try to predict what might be the rest of the story based on what we already know and then in the future see how much we got right or not. I think that would be neat

1. i’ve shipped many ships in many eras and the one i always go back to is ronarry!! they’re so special to me and i know it’s like a popular trope that people find annoying but i really love the bestfriend to lovers trope it’s so sweet :)) and not to mention that they are both in my top 3 😭

2. i definitely read fanfic (i have an ao3 acc 6amflwrr) I’ve been reading it for years 😭😭 ahh this is such a hard one but out of the hundreds of fanfics i’ve read there’s a few that i always think of or go back to:

‘honey honey by aeoneskova’ — marlene lives and takes harry from the dursleys!! harry is in muggle primary school in this and it’s soo realistic !! really sad too harry literally fainted in p.e bc he was so starved ITS SO SAD

‘Hermione Grangers Hogwarts Cranmer for Delinquents on the Run by waspabi’ — i suprisingly loved one sm i went through a phase of hardcore shipping drarry and i met this gem through it!! idk if i ship them anymore but im not like against them either idk anyway this one harry doesn’t know he’s a wizard until they recruit him 💀 and sirius is alive also <3

‘An Hour of Wolves by solvskrift’ — one of the first fics i ever read so that’s probably a reason but this one’s dark and it shows harry’s ptsd really well and also check tags for this one!!

3. oooo i love this question sm i love all dynamics between harry and parental figures bc they’re so interesting but my favourite is sirius and harry by far!! they get each other so well, sirius would do absolutely anything for him and he is the only adult harry fully trusted like harry loved him sm :(( they had their flaws and while i don’t think sirius was the healthiest (something that i don’t blame him for at all i think he did amazingly given the circumstances) he definitely was the best choice and i think that makes it even sadder actually 😭

4. oh i definitely have fics!!! here are some of my favs:

‘Foolish hearts by iwantacoolassname & orbithastnt’ — this is set in hbp and sirius lives !!!!! the only thing is that it’s ongoing but i don’t think it’s been discontinued :)

‘Somber Skies and Bruised Bodies by ManyGayUmbrellas’ — i love this one too it’s so sad but happy ending!! more of a character study but yeah it’s good :)

‘i’ll hold you when things go wrong by cloudlesslysky’ — Ron has always struggled with insecurity and jealousy since he was a child. However, Ron has grown up. And while he loves his mother, if she's making him choose between her and Harry...Well, Ron knows where he stands. (this is probably my favourite even tho it’s not actually ronarry but they are very close and it’s definitely worth the read and uncle harry & rose AHH)

‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell by IamShadow21’ — one of my favourites too!! this one got me into ronarry in the first place :)

i know this sounds insane but i’ve been looking for this specific fanfic and i think you might have wrote it but im unsure. it was basically like a txt x 6th member reader getting into a fight pre debut or debut era, and i remember taehyun being especially confrontational and basically reader storms out and some girl (i forgot who) met with her outside

that's an oddly specific fanfic, but yes, i wrote that one (refer to this one). it was bbtr (bound by the rules: written ver), but i changed that into a smau that was later discontinued (because of the recent events). also, yeji was the girl reader/oc met outside

below the cut was the fight between txt and reader anon was talking about & taehyun being confrontational back when bbtr was still written (without the yeji scene)

beomgyu and taehyun peak their heads out of their room, seeing hyunseol stride past them with yeonjun and soobin following behind before seeing the oldest stop at the door of huening kai's room.

"noona, please. don't do it. huening kai doesn't want you to know that he's been crying." beomgyu and taehyun hear from soobin and throw each other a look before walking out of their rooms to see concern painting the leader's face.

"no, we've been waiting for too long, soobin. it's time to address this. it's clear that huening kai is hurting, okay?"

"then why did you wait until now before taking action?"

the three oldest turn their heads to see taehyun crossing his arms while tilting his head. the second youngest look at the oldest intensely. "you could've just take action weeks ago, but no, you waited."

beomgyu keeps his mouth shut and takes a step back from the scene, the tension being too overwhelming for him to handle.

hyunseol returns taehyun's gaze with the same intensity, yeonjun and soobin ready to put themseves between the oldest and second youngest just in case a heated argument erupts. "because huening kai made me promise that i won't question any of his actions, no matter how bizarre they are. i respected his decision until now, but his behavior became more worrying, okay?"

"and you just noticed now?"

the corner of the oldest member's lips twitch and soobin takes that as a sign to break the pair apart. "okay, noona. let's—"

"what do you mean 'i just noticed now'?"

hyunseol takes a few strides towards, each step feeling a bit heavier than it should be. being the same height with the oldest, yeonjun blocks taehyun from her fellow towerz member and shakes his head while looking directly at hyunseol's eyes.

"i mean, huening kai is becoming worse than he was before. i'm surprised you just noticed this now. i wonder if you're still the same hyunseol noona we met."

soobin keeps his guard up and blocks hyunseol's path, his hands over her shoulders, still respectful of the oldest.

"what's that supposed to mean, kang?"

yeonjun turns to face taehyun and shakes his head with his widened eyes before mouthing 'don't respond'. he sighs and rolls his eyes when the second youngest shook his and did the opposite of what he wants.

"it means i'm calling you oblivious, dense, and—"

"say that to my face, taehyun."

"noona!" soobin frowns at the yelling as he desperately tries to keep the oldest away from getting to taehyun. "please, stop. don't make this worse."

"you take back, kang taehyun.", hyunseol menacingly warns.

"what if i don't?", taehyun nonchalantly retorts back as yeonjun shakes his head disapprovingly.

"taehyun, stop.", soobin authoritatively warns as he still keeps hyunseol away from him, unable to think of ways to dissipate the tension in the hallway. the second youngest scoffs, rolling his eyes and turns away before walking back to his room.

"you know what? fine." taehyun stops walking. "if you're so knowledgeable with this, try to fix this mess yourself. i'm out."

hyunseol gently throws soobin's hands away from her shoulders and walks out of the hallway and to the front door. soobin's eyes widen when he realizes what's happening and immediately tries to convince hyunseol to not leave. unfortunately, the oldest member's decision is firm and unrelenting.

poor soobin, trying so hard to keep a bond with his members.

beomgyu, taehyun, and yeonjun watch the interaction with leader and the oldest. they can see the cold wall surrounding hyunseol as soobin tries his best fixing the mess between his two members. but he doesn't know he's only human. he could only do so little for the people he leads. he can't do everything for them or he'll get tired doing so.

"sorry, soobin, but i need to go. i need some fresh air."

the leader's shoulders fall as the words dawn on him. defeated, soobin nods as his eyes fall on the floor. "o-okay, noona. take care and be careful."

hyunseol gently pats his shoulder since she can't pat his head and grabs her coat from the rack before opening the door and plunging into the darkness of the outside. the sound of the front door closing fully wake the three members up and look at one another with one thought in mind; we messed up.

taehyun falls in his thoughts as he covers his face with his hands. oh, man. i just argued with noona and made her leave. what am i going to do to make it up to her?

meanwhile, kai sits on his bed and starts crying again upon hearing the conversation on the other side of his bedroom door. i'm sorry, i'm sorry, everyone. i made you guys worry and argue with one another. if i only wasn't feeling stupid about everything, then this wouldn't happen.

hyunseol is walking onto the pavement as she stuffs her hands into the pockets of her coat. i'm so stupid. i shouldn't reacted like that. if i just take a step back and assess the argument and not let my emotions drive me, i wouldn't be out here walking, instead i would be talking everything out.

she ruffles her hair in annoyance before huffing out, the cold air making her breath visible in front of her. she arrives at a nearby park and finds an empty bench before taking a seat.

OKAY I don’t normally leave out comments on fics BUT I just gotta to let you know even if it’s through an anon ask. Long message incoming I just love your writing so much ahh ok so I know Reckless is discontinued but I just want to say that it’s one of my favorite fics.. like I’m not even kidding it makes me sad to know that it’s discontinued but also it’s one of the best ones I’ve read. I only recently got into jjk so that explains why I’m a little late. But – your writing *chefs kiss* (I’m a sucker for fics with really good writing and formatting lolol and yours is perfect) and your storytelling techniques *chefs kiss* and the slow burn *chefs kiss* I’m living for it all. Even though I won’t get to read it in its entirety I’m still looking forward to reading the chapters I got left.

PS. I originally found them on ao3 some months ago, downloaded them onto my Kindle for full reading experience lmao, and only got around to reading it a few days ago. I’ll have to read some chapters here on tumblr instead but I don’t really mind. 5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I don't (crying) I always want to but then think it's been either too quick to respond or too long to respond and then I'd feel bad responding to some comments and not others and I get into a whole spiral about it. I'm going to set aside a day to go through all of my comments and reply with something because there are many (if not all) I do want to respond to. This day was actually supposed to happen last week towards the end of the year but I was too sleepy.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Scarlet Letter probably, the seven year gap fic where Phoenix sneaks meetings with Edgeworth between being with Kristoph

That's my primary ending. The default. Maybe Somewhere the Culture's Clever since they end up with one and a half proposals

The only time I got hate on a fic was for I might've been a good man when it was still on anon and I remember being so mad that that was the only time I got a "Miles and Phoenix is incest. Delete this" comment. They were too scared to put it on my fics with my user on it.

Setting his paintbrush to the side, Tauxolouve took a step back, admiring his painting from its fully glory.

Nasir, who had just came out of their house, was left impressed at the masterpiece of his son, the son he didn't create himself, but felt as if he did. Walking up to the canvas, Nasir's lips naturally curled into a smile. "This is... Excellent." He breathed, genuinely amazed by Tauxolouve's excellence in skills.

Tauxolouve stole a glance at the man he grew up acknowledging as his father, but then again, he wasn't wrong. He raised him with the love and care befitting that of a father's. "You like it?"

"Of course I do." He smiled brightly at him, reaching out a hand to caress his head. "And I'm sure your mom will like it too."

"I want her to see it." Tauxolouve stared up at his father, a spark of young excitement flaming in his dark eyes.

Nasir smiled down at him affectionately, a sense of emotionalism tugging at his heartstrings. Looking down at the young man, he could depict the facial features of his best friend and his mortal wife, mixing into something so precious, they made sure it's safe before they even cared for their own lives.

"Yes, your mom will surely love it." Nasir spoke quietly and Tauxolouve smiled innocently, thinking he was referring to Sofia, not even knowing about the existence of Kronos or Nadi yet. His heart was still pure and without anything to bother about, other than his paintings and his friends. "I have an idea."

Tauxolouve peered up at him intrigued.

"Why don't we hang it in the house?"

Tauxolouve's eyebrows rose, staring at his father a little surprised.

"That is if you're also okay with it. It'd make our house so much prettier."

Tauxolouve's eyes shifted to the colorful canvas and a peaceful smile crept up on his lips.

"What are you two doing?" Sofia's voice reached them as she approached, her white dress flowing in her path.

Nasir motioned for her to come closer, without taking his eyes off the painting and Sofia complied, her face lighting up at the sight of it as well. Nasir chuckled at her expression. "Beautiful, isn't it?"

"Yes...!" She cupped Tauxolouve's cheeks with her hands and pressed her lips to his forehead. "You're so talented, Louie."

With his cheeks still squeezed, he smiled at Sofia, the woman who stayed true by his side and cared for him, like his biological mother didn't managed, even though she wanted to. "Wanna hang it in the living room?" He asked and Sofia's eyes squinted affectionately at him.

"That would be an honour for us." She said, talking for both herself and her husband.

Nasir stole a good and long glace at Tauxolouve and smiled knowingly. "Have you changed your hairstyle?"

"Maybe." He responded and shrugged his shoulders, smiling back slyly.

"It suits him." Sofia said, running her fingers through his silky, slicked back hair.

"If you excuse me," Nasir spoke up. "I need to go make our home beautiful." With caution, he picked up the canvas and Tauxolouve nodded, pleased and proud of himself. "You coming?"

"Later." He said. "I'm gonna practice a little."

"As you wish."

Agreeing to hang the canvas on the wall of their living room, Nasir took it and with caution went inside to place it on the wall and fill up their home with Tauxolouve's beautiful art.

With Nasir and Sofia gone, Tauxolouve had remained alone at the pretty lake with the centaur monument, idly unaware who it was sculpted for.

Tauxolouve focused his eyes on a small rock, sitting my the lake and he snapped his fingers, with the intent to make it float. Upon snapping his fingers, he gasped in surprise at the sudden pain, when an arrow hit him directly in the chest.

A vision flashed before his eyes. The colours were grey and the forms blurry, but he could make out a face. A really crucial face. His own, but more grown up, judging from the maturity of his features.

A woman was leaning against him and he held her close, tightly, the tension of the moment obvious even to an outsider. The woman's face was not clear, but he felt his heart breaking upon looking at her and dread for his own self.

F's week of medical adventures:

TL;DR: F got prescribed a medication that we had concerns about because of her reactions to a similar medication, had concerning symptoms directly after taking that med for the first time, doctor doesn't think it was medication related, doctor changes medication anyway, two days later doctor orders a CT scan (probably to cover their ass if there was a problem). Also F's GP is moving to California and we're heartbroken 😭

F's GP's office sent a referral to a pulmonologist (which isn't strictly necessary because we have a PPO, but it was super helpful because it meant they were checking the insurance stuff because our company still hasn't fixed our website access). She's still struggling despite being on the upper end of what the GP can provide so the pulmonologist approved her for an urgent appointment. We had that appointment this week.

Monday At the appointment they did 0 testing, said that the maintenance medication that F was on was rather lightweight (disagree, but I assume they meant that it didn't contain a Long-Acting Beta-Antagonist, F assumes they didn't read the medication correctly), said that the current rescue inhaler F is on is a "red flag" for not responding well to LABAs but that most people are completely fine so they're gonna go ahead and prescribe one anyway, did not ask further about why F is on that med, listened to her lungs a little and then sent her off with a follow up appointment in two months. We had specifically asked F's GP to avoid LABAs because of other health concerns and her reaction to Abuterol (a Short-Acting Beta-Antagonist).

I clearly need to read about medical communication because we keep telling nurses/etc. that she has bad reactions to Abuterol and they keep going "oh! Does it make you jittery?" 🤦 No. Her heart rate goes way up, she feels like shit, and she has to lie down for 2 hours so she doesn't fall over.

Tuesday The new prescription comes in, F takes it that evening (her regular time and we'd picked it up <1hr beforehand). Surprise, surprise, she feels like shit. It's a different flavor of feels like shit though. Pros: her heart rate didn't shoot up like it does for Abuterol and she is more capable of standing. Cons: nausea, dizziness, palpitations, high blood pressure, feeling jittery, and a sense that something is wrong. Just what you want out of a medication you have to take twice a day, right? /s. So she finishes up her bedtime routine and goes to bed. Then, in the middle of the night, F is woken up by very bad chest pain.

Wednesday We call the office in the morning to ask if she should take the morning dose or discontinue the medication. The answer we got was roughly 'well, those aren't listed side effects so I don't think it's related, but I'll ask the doctor.' The answer relayed to us was also that the doctor doesn't think it is related, but if we want we can change to a different medication without a LABA. (What we'd like is medical advice, thank you 🙄). We eventually pick trying a new medication because, if the chest pain is unrelated to the LABA, then it's probably pretty urgent that we figure that out now and go seek care for the chest pain problem. The nurse says they'll get the prescription sent in and we will have a nebulizer delivered to our doorstep. We're a little surprised, but whatever.

Thursday The medical equipment company calls F a few times to sort out insurance & billing stuff (unfortunately mostly during times F is having asthma issues). Then after that's all set, the equipment company's respiratory therapist calls to schedule a time to come set up the machine and show F how to use it. That's somewhat different than just delivering it to our doorstep....

Anyway, since we're supposed to leave early on Saturday for a road trip, we schedule the set-up for late Friday morning and then rushed around trying to clean the house.

After that, F gets a call directly from the doctor effectively saying 'sooo I have been thinking and I am going to order an urgent CT scan (if you want, but I'm ordering it anyway) to make sure nothing is drastically wrong but I'm sure it's (most likely) fine, but maybe you might want to do it just in case. Anyway, I won't be able to look at it until Monday. Also, you'll be fine once you get on [medication you potentially have bad reactions to]' We're presuming it's a cover-their-ass call, and at this point F feels ridiculous and like she's wasting everyone's time and overblowing things, but we talk through it together and she's convinced to go get the imaging done because it'll be good to have on hand and we're very likely to hit the deductible/out-of-pocket limit this year anyway. So, yes, imaging to check for dangerous and urgent condition, but it's fine if the images aren't reviewed until the next week 🙄

We schedule that for Friday afternoon and I spend the rest of the evening alternating calls between the insurance company and the hospital to make sure everything is in order. And then I stay up late cleaning.

Friday (F's birthday - I'd taken the day off work to surprise F, I guess that was a good decision 😅 ) I finish up CT phone calls and confirm that the CT pre-auth went through then call the medical equipment place to clarify some things since it's going very differently than we had thought

Her appointment with the equipment company's respiratory therapist went well, they seemed more concerned about F's symptoms than the doctor did - but that's our usual luck, anyone who is not an MD is worried about F. The machine is >$350, but the inhalers she's been using are mostly >$200, so this should be cheaper overall as long as she keeps using it and isn't swapped directly back to the other med. (We certainly could have bought one cheaper by ourselves, but it's better for us to go through insurance in this case).

Had lunch then ran off to the CT scan which itself was pretty quick, but it's a decently long drive so it took up the rest of the day. The CT technician was also very much 'no, don't worry, you definitely should have come in for this based on your symptoms' which helped reassure F somewhat. Then we both go home and crash (instead of packing)

Saturday We pack and leave and are very tired etc. etc. but at least there are no medical phone calls involved

Sunday Telehealth appointment with F's GP (who is amazing) and he shares that he's taking a job in California that's exactly what he wants to be doing. We're thrilled for him, but so so sad that he will be leaving 😭😭😭 Working with him has been great and he has improved F's life so much.

Monday The pulmonologist's office calls as we're driving back from the eclipse. The CT scan only showed a nodule in the lung - which they gave no information on and said they'd talk about it at her follow up appointment (in two months 🙃)

Tuesday We drove all the way back to the hospital (after driving a ton yesterday to get home) to pick up a copy of the CT scan so we can share it with other doctors as needed.

I guess we can't be 100% confident yet, but I think F is getting worse on this new medication instead of better. I can't find information on what an equivalent dose would be with the meds her GP had her on, but I suspect the dose for this new stuff is too low 😕

After writing all that up, no wonder why we're exhausted. This is the gist of it, but I definitely skipped over a number of smaller problems (e.g. the office sent the prescription in with incorrect patient details so F had to sort that out with the pharmacy, etc.). I need a vacation

hung out w grandpa daniel today. texted him after misa today & asked if he wanted to go walk or get some food or something & he was like yeah let’s go back to madera but we can take a different trail this time. i was early today. we took the van buren trail to the bluffs then went to sycamore island. on the way up, we talked about my parents’ work, my school, his dogs, the wildlife nearby, told him about the two times i went back to madera, & other things i cannot remember now. i walked through the bee boxes & the bees were everywhere. i was w him & he said it was ok as long as we didn’t disturb them. never before would i have thought i would be walking through a swarm of bees but i did. so we took a short trail up this incline that led to the bluffs. he said he liked going off trail & taking these sorts of trails but he can’t do it w the other folk he usually goes w bc they’re all older & weaker. (side note: this reminds me of the first time i went hiking w him. him & i were at the very front & we were deciding which way was the easiest to travel through & i went one way & he went the other. we did this just to scope out the trail. & he said i was like his scout. ok anyways) we were up there for a bit just admiring the view & taking some pics. when we went back down to get on the trail to sycamore island he was like oh let me get a pic of you in action. i knew what i looked like already bc my cousin has taken a picture of me in a similar position & it’s just not the best angle or position to be in 😭. but anyways then we went back on the trail to sycamore island & he talked about selling stuff online, the madera vs fresno side of the river, fishing, & math!!!!!!! & i don’t remember what else. we went down to the water just because. then i remembered skipping rocks w karla & diana. so i asked old man daniel if he knew how to skip rocks. we both tried skipping rocks but we sucked. i only got two skips & his just sunk. on the way back actually that’s when i talked about my parents’ work & the internet & then we talked more about his work & he talked about his dad. his dad won an emmy! his dad is an emmy award winner! i don’t know his name i should’ve asked him but i do know he won an emmy for video editing for a documentary on the black soldiers of world war 2. i don’t remember the name of the army 😭. i wish i could remember i will have to do some research but anyways yeah i just found that so cool. then he’s like you mentioned food do you wanna go to costco & i’ll buy you a slice of pizza? & i was like oh heck yeah boy i like the costco food court. i didn’t say it like that obviously i just said yeah! so we drove in our separate cars to the costco that was nearest which also happens to be the one that’s closest to his house. he got pepperoni pizza w a hot dog & a soda. i got a slice of pepperoni pizza & strawberry icecream. he was talking about the discontinued items from the food court then the stores he shops at. at one point (back at the trail) he was telling me that he shops at costco but since he doesn’t have a family he has to be selective about what he buys bc you gotta buy in bulk at costco. & it was just a sad phrase to hear. “i don’t have a family.” like i take my family for granted so often. idk it’s just something to think about. not rn bc my head is pounding a bit bc i need to go to sleep. but anyways. so then after a while it just got quiet a bit & i was like ok sir that’s enough talking about grocery stores. i didn’t say that aloud. in my head i was wondering why this man didn’t have kids. so i asked him that. looking back it now that’s kinda funny. us just sitting in the costco food court eating our pizza & out of the blue i just said “hey how come you didn’t have any kids?” i wasn’t sure if i could ask that bc it could be a sensitive topic for some. but i blurted it out. surely enough, he took a beat. then told me about his ex-wife who after only 1.5 years of marriage, they got divorced. that’s wild to me. well actually not that wild. 50% of marriages in the US end in divorce.
