Crack or Angst Skully Theory But...

After seeing posts about the Twisted Wonderland event and some character details about Skully (btw it helps because for my Twist OC, I actually made it so that he came from a small village so everything is falling in place so far), I kind of came up with headcannons and some predictions.

I really feel that Skully not only embodies the Idia/Sebek side of things and he's a refreshing take from Event Antagonists that travels with the cast rather than acts against them, but he also, in the TNBC perspective, represents the fan community of Nightmare Before Christmas and Jack Skellington in general. From what tidbits we do see, it seems like Skully is the outcast and he wants to forget his school/life to hang out with the place and person he admires which I could totally see parallels with my Oogie Boogie twist character.

I also share the idea that Skully would be like Jack discovering Christmas Town and wanting to take over Halloween Town.

But wait... I just got a somewhat crack but also angsty theory: what if Skully being twisted from Jack is a ruse?

WHAT IF SKULLY SLOWLY GETS OBSESSED TO THE POINT WHERE HE BECOMES TWISTED OOGIE BOOGIE?

Takara's Treasure | Iwase Yoji as Shiga Takara

I stumbled upon this Japanese BL yesterday, which is an adaptation of its manga counterpart. It's very slice of life and fluffy, leans into the school setting that is typical with coming of age stories. Takara just epitomises the 'cool boy' senpai protagonist (complete with orange hair which is a trope in itself), who is handsome, unapproachable and aloof at first, but reliable and kind once you peel back the layers. I have to say that the actor they've chosen is impeccable casting. He just exudes the essence of characters like this I've personally read.

8 episodes have been released out of a total of 11. If you're not familiar with Japanese BL or slice of life as a genre, this show may feel slow and uneventful in terms of plot and pace, but that's generally it's charm. So far I'm finding this quite endearing. Each episode is only 30 minutes long so very digestible.
