okay so like this is a general life update, as well as a bit on what i’m thinking about for this blog??

so things have been pretty crazy with getting stuff ready for study abroad. i had issues with housing when i’m in japan. i originally didn’t get housing in the dorms, then i had to find a place to live, then i made a reservation somewhere, then i was given dorm housing, now i have to cancel the other place etc. etc. (which i tried doing but my bank didn’t like it so i have to call them on monday ugh and let them know that yes i did try to give a japanese company 20,000 yen)

but yes!! i leave for japan in 17 days!! 

legit it’s crazy because i never really envisioned myself getting this far, so actually being this close is unbelievable. going to japan has been a dream of mine since freshmen year of high school, and being literally less than twenty days away from it is absolutely unreal. 

that being said i still have a ton of stuff to do, like unpack stuff from last semester still (oops), get my visa done (i’m going on monday), and.....buy my suitcases (whoops again)

besides that, things are going well! i have an interview on tuesday at my university for a pre-orientation job for incoming freshmen (a program i attended my freshman year), which would start like august 25 or something and i can do up to 15 hours a month during the school year (yay third job). 

along with that, i’ve been working out consistently now for like a week/ a week and a half, and it feels really good? well i mean i’m in a lot of pain from squats tbh but it feels nice to like actually feel a change in myself and while i normally hate working out, i haven’t been dreading it that much and have had a good time. it makes me feel better for when i’m planning on going to the gym more frequently during the fall, which i’m actually planning on doing because my dorm will be closer. i’m going to be living with one of my friends that’s been in my japanese class since freshmen year, and we’re both ia dual majors as well. it’s far from where i’m normally at on campus, but i figure after living in tokyo for five months it won’t really be an issue. 

the only other thing i’ve been thinking about is the state of this blog. as some of you may have (but probably haven’t) realized, i haven’t really been on that much for the past couple of weeks. my queue has been steadily declining and i haven’t been bothered to fill it back up, and i can tell that i’ve been getting a lot less notes than when i’m on here regularly. and while that would normally bother me, i just really haven’t felt the urge to be on here that much? i think i’m finally losing my need to be on tumblr a lot, because even when i’m on my laptop, i’m not really spending a lot of time here. mainly these past couple of days/upwards of a week now i’ve been frantically searching for housing and stuff, and haven’t been able to focus a lot of energy on here. i know the same will be true when i’m in japan, especially as i’ll only have spotty internet/data connection i’m sure, so i don’t know what will happen when i’m over there. 

i’m thinking that i’ll probably go on a hiatus, most likely indefinitely as i get settled and figure out what i’m doing when in japan. i’m sure i won’t be off of here for the entire time, but it’ll be way less frequently than i have been (as these two weeks have proven). i’ll be meeting a ton new people, having classes, and looking for a part time job while there so i can survive and have money to spend for fun things (cat cafe would be the dream job but i’m not picky). tbh while i’ve met a lot of great people here, i just really don’t feel like spending time reblogging things. i’ve been here for almost 6 years at this point and i feel like i’ve seen what this site has to offer. while i could never fully delete, as i wouldn’t want to lose contact with the people i talk to, i just don’t want to be as dependent on this site for entertainment as i have been in the past. 

but anyway, i’m sure i’ll still be around. i’m not sure if i’ll be posting stuff about my study abroad on this blog, or if i’ll make another blog about it. i’d like people on here to know what i’ve been up to, but if i want people from outside of tumblr to see my adventures i wouldn’t want them to have this blog as well. i’m still not sure though. i have a wordpress blog that i made for one of my scholarships that i’ll be updating, and i can leave links to it on here somewhere. 

this was a lot longer than i expected but i never really have people read these so it’s okay. if anyone does i hope you enjoyed my long rambling about my life thanks for sticking around
