To say Twin-Blade leaving for a ‘mission’ was dramatic would be an understatement. He cried woefully into your shoulder, picking you up several times as though he was going to take you with him.
“—and don’t forget to eat while I’m gone! My division is the best but I know it won’t be the same with me not cooking!” Twin-Blade cried out, receiving a smattering of offended blustering for his ridiculousness. Marco shoved his head away from you with an irritated sigh.
“The sooner you leave the faster you can come back, Thatch. Quit freaking them out.”
Twin-Blade pouted, arms still firmly locked around your shoulders.
“But they haven’t said goodbye yet! Or told me how much they’ll miss me when I’m gone! How can I leave my newest sibling in such conditions?!” Twin-Blade begged. You reflexively cringed.
“Yeah… I’m not doing that. Please let go, Twin-Blade.”
He froze, eyes wide as he blinked. Slowly, he looked at you with teary eyes.
“At least call me by my name!” Twin-Blade cried out desperately.
“No.” You huffed, pressing both hands against his chest to no avail until Marco shoved his finger into Twin-Blade’s forehead and pushed.
He stumbled back with a pitiful sputter before grabbing his pack. Taking a low stance and pointing at you accusingly.
“Fine! But I want a hug when I come back! With a happy smile and everything!”
“Why? Do I get to leave when you return?” You asked dryly, receiving an irritated sigh from Marco beside you as Ace cackled.
“No! Because you’re happy to see me, damnit!” Twin-Blade huffed.
“Oh…” His face brightened for just a moment. “Then no.”
He grumbled, waving to the rest of the crew that was seeing him off with a small party to retrieve medication for Whitebeard.
“…It’s kinda weird you guys don’t have a regular supplier.” You commented as the small crew sailed off with no additional fanfare or waterworks.
“We haven’t managed to get an island under our protection that manufactures the medicine we need. And it would bring undue attention to go to a specific pharmacy not well within our territory. This is easier, though a little convoluted. It’s not like it’s rare medication.” Marco commented.
You made a noise of understanding.
“The marines have several labs hidden away for all their research and medical needs. Never been to any of them myself, though they considered sending me there when my devil fruit was discovered.” You pondered what that would have been like. You’d… never heard anything too telling about it. But considering how intense the discussion was you gathered that there was some… issues with the labs.
“…Do you even know what they planned to do with you?” Ace asked curiously. You looked at him and made a ‘so-so’ gesture.
“I got the impression that I was going to be assigned to someone specific as a partner before they started wondering if there were side effects to my devil fruit. At that point, even I wasn’t sure what it could be. Whoever it was, they didn’t want to risk anything unexpected.” You sighed. “I went through a lot of partners, but they were all kinda dicks. Before and after being exposed to my fruit. I thought that maybe a side effect was like… an over-inflated ego trip but you both have been in contact with me for some time and you’re not—well, I mean—you’re weird but still weird? Maybe it depends on the person’s psychological profile…” You shrugged.
“Dicks? Hm… did your ‘partners’ have anything else in common?” you blinked at Ace.
“Actually, yeah. They did. None of them were high ranking or especially strong, likely in case something went wrong with their power, but there was one specific thing they all had in common with their devil fruits.” You admitted.
--*--
“Commander Thatch! We’re being followed by a pirate ship!”
“Heh! Well, let’s say ‘hello’, boys!”
--*--
“They had to do with heat.”
--*--
“Is that?!”
“No way!”
“C-Commander! That’s a devil fruit!”
--*--
“A-Admiral Akainu, sir! Here’s the file you asked for!” A nervous ensign stuttered out. Akainu looked over his shoulder, cigar butt grinding between his teeth as he hissed.
“Leave.” He growled, snatching up the remarkably thin folder. Despite his temper, he kept his hand cool—or as cool as it ever was underneath his leather glove. His opposite hand however, dripped small bits of magma onto the carpet. The fire snuffed out under his heel as he threw it onto the desk.
The file fell open, papers scattering across the surface with a picture clipped to the main page.
This glasses reflected light underneath the standard marine cap, a bright beaming smile captured for the record keeping boys.
Akainu had thumbed through a copy of the file several times, keeping a close eye on any updates as they occurred. Minor injury reports, transfers, the works. But none pissed him off more than the status box stamped in red.
CAPTURED.
WHITEBEARD PIRATES, XX/XX/XXXX – [-/-/-].
STATUS: UNKNOWN, PRESUMED COMPROMISED.
At his own insistence, there was an addendum added to the file permanently.
IF FOUND, REPORT DIRECTLY TO ADMIRAL AKAINU FOR RETRIEVAL.
His cigar burned into nothing but ash on his lips as he sneered.
“Don’t worry. You’ll be back soon, my dear. And I’ll make sure it never happens again.” Akainu hissed, plucking up your picture with his melting fist clenched tight behind his back to prevent any damage. “We’ll bring real Justice to those filthy pirates. And I plan to make them scream for thinking they could corrupt you.”
He flicked his wrist, flinging molten lava against the far wall where a collage of Whitebeard Pirate bounty posters were pinned. The whole collection bursting into fire and falling to the floor in a rain of ash.
Soon.
--*--
Thatch watched as the Moby Dick came into view, their mission successful. Several months worth of medication in the hull as well as a smattering of general supplies to bulk up with just in case.
Marco promised him a party and Thatch was arriving with a whole new reason to celebrate.
The massive fruit nestled under his arm, purple spikes and green leaves poking into his clothes. He wondered if you’d know what it could do or if he’d have to look it up himself. He was hopeful you could both bond over it at the very least, though he was still on the fence about eating it. It was a big decision to make. And he’d made it this far without a devil fruit.
Who knows, maybe it did something really cool?
--*--
You looked out at the sea with a frown. You couldn’t see where it was coming from exactly, but you felt a devil fruit at the edge of your senses.
“What is it, my child?” Whitebeard asked. You had stopped rubbing Stefan and Kotatstu’s bellies, standing up straight as you shivered.
“…I-I don’t know.” Your heart stuttered in your chest as the devil fruit grew closer. Swallowing hard, you looked up at Whitebeard. “I think it’s a devil fruit? But…”
You looked back out at the sea again as Stefan whined.
“What do you sense?” he asked again, tone serious and almost worried.
“… It feels hungry. Hungry and dark. Like the shadows under your bed or at the end of a very long hall.” You replied faintly, cold sweat breaking out.
It felt like the edge of the void.
And the void was looking back at you. Reaching out with tendrils long and twisted and starving for more.

Admirals as dads
Borsalino
he would spoil his child 100 %, and he would buy the best clothes too...like you see his suit and glasses? that man loves show off his wealth, and he would shows off through his child too. I think he would buy them mostly classy clothes, nothing casual or sportive.
he is a man who is very polite, so i guess he would teach his child to be polite too. i don't think he would be stern like sakazuki, but he would teach them through corrections of their speach, like:
"y\n, you have to say please when you ask something. please repeat it now properly"
he wuould tell them with a sweet voice, not wanting his child to feel like he is judging them.
he would be smitten with his child's cuteness, saying "so kawai" and smiling softly at them, probably for that little face that his child manages to get away with almost everything. Almost with everything because I feel like he would love that his child would be polite like him.
100% he would take his child at work and showing them off with all the others admirals, even if he has to meet akainu's irritation. He would carry them on his broad shoulder, and he would let them see all marineford, of course he won't take them to the renuion.
he would fear that his child could become a pirate, even if he never tells anyone. He fears this scenario because he already knows that it would put him in an umfortable position
i don't think he would really attack\hurt them, but he would be really struggle at the beginning since he always have followed the orders.
still, he won't push to become a marine.
Sakazuki
oh boy, i think he would be a very stern dad, he wouldn't take care of his child he would TRAIN them, like he would be more a sergent than an actual dad. He would still spend time with his child playing, but he would mostly teaching them to be a marine since birth.
he can't allow his child become an enemy of the law like happened to garp, he would lose respect of himself (we know that sakazuki doesn't like garp much because his child and grandson are both enemy of world government).
probabily he would have a stroke if his child would become a pirate lmao.
he is stil smart enough to know that being too strict would led them to resent them, so he learns to be more lenient with them, letting them getting away with few things, playing with any game the want ( as long as the game isn't too stupid).
i feel like he would be a bit controlling, expecially about friendship that his child has.
he would take his child at work too, to show them the importance of working as marine. He would take them to the training camp, then he would take them to his office; he would take them to a mission too ( not extremly dangerous, he just wants let them know how marine operate)
Kuzan
the most chill dad 100%, he would let and would spur his child to become an indipendent person. He won't teach like sakazuki the importance to be a marine, he would let his child choose his way. Even if they would choose to be a pirate, he would accept them, even if he would be worried about them
he would still protect them even if it's from a far
he won't spoil their child too much, more like he would teach them to be humble, and expecially to be kind towards others. When he see them to act compassionate, even towards an animal, he would be so proud and warm <3
more than pay for very expensive clothes, he spends time with them. He would play whatever game his child wanna play, even if he have to act a bit silly, he would do it. And he would loove nap with them.
he would sleep with his child in a bed full of cushions under a warm blanket cuddling
i know he is a very aloof but i feel like with his child would be really warm and tender, liike i know he would use pet names like "honey, sweety, sweetheart etc"
he won't take them to marineford, he thinks his job is too ruthless for your innocence, but he would take to garp, letting him see you and letting you see how he trained.
he would let you see even smoker, since he's a kind guy even if he looks intimidating.
he won't let you see akainu 100% , even if you asked the answer will be always no.

ASL X MOTHER READER
Sabo finds out his mother death.
Two years ago, Sabo and Koala came back from their trip, and they're returning to Baltigo. When they went inside, they saw people running in the hallways.
Sabo doesn't know what's going on. "Oh, chief of staff! You came at the right time!"
"Come to the situation room now!"
"The Paramount War between the Navy and the whitebeard pirate has ended!" Everyone was reading about the outcome of the Summit War of Marineford.
"A kaiju was Paramount War?!" Everyone was shocked, "it says shin godzilla, use atomic breath, and blast the war before dapeare"
"The navy has a lot of casualties, too. Seems like it was a hard battle as expected."
"What about ivan-san?! Is she alright?!"
"It doesn't say she died or anything"
"The one who died in the war is..."
"(L/N)... (Y/N)..."
Sabo heart dropped when he heard that name.
"What?! (Y/N) the devil child?! Nobody heard from her!"
"Yeah, it said... she died from protecting fire fist ace and Straw Hat luffy."
"But more importantly, Dragon-san, look..."
"Is it true?! Is straw hat luffy your son?!"
"Hm? Yes, he is." Said dragon, everyone was shocked. Sabo picked up the newspaper and saw her face, her smiling face. Sabo eyes went wide, and he began to remember.
"I'm gonna become a pirate... and defeat others and become infamous! It'll be the only proof of my life! It doesn't matter if all people in the world reject me or despise me!"
Sabo started to remember ace voice.
"A boy would be the son of royal. But you, sabo. Shall be mine."
He rember his mother voice, and rember how she sang him lullaby. Sabo slams the desk as he begins to tear up. "Sabo-kun, what's wrong?! You're acting strange!" Koala asks.
"I can't believe that Ace was Gold' Roger's son... and (Y/N) was his step mom..."
"It says that luffy was also his (Y/N) stepmother..."
"Did you guys know?! They say Akainu punched a hole right through her body! (Y/N) was the government want a hands-on."
Sabo cries and cries when he remembers another memory.
"We can become brothers if we exchange this cup of sake!" Said ace.
"Brothers?! Really?!" Luffy asks.
"When we become pirates, we might not be on the same ship, but our brotherhood will always be with us! So, from now on, we're brothers!"
"Yeah!"
"Are you alright, sabo?!" Hack asks, sabo still tearing up, then he let out a scream, yelling.
"MAMA!!!!!"
"Sabo-kun!"
"Sabo!"
'Now I know... the one who died wasn't some unknown person... she wasn't just a threat in the pirate era that needed to be eliminated! Or be the world government slave!' Sabo thought, remembering all the memories of his mother.
"Sabo, welcome home!"
"(Y/N) is my... mother!"
A few years passed, and sabo went his mother grave, with much flowers and notes on them.
"I finally... managed to get here... mom." sabo put the flower down, then he took out some newspaper. " Look at this. Luffy started to make his way to become the king of the pirate again. And ace join in, too."
"It's so ironic. Since you've been gone, the old memories keep recurring to me vividly. I now belong to the Revolutionary Army."
"My colleague, ivankov, told me what happened in marineford in detail. And... how... you sacrifice yourself."
"I guess you, luffy, and Ace are mad at me." Sabo started to cry, "I couldn't go save you... I'm sorry! I wish... I wish I could've seen you again while you were alive! I'm gonna inherit your will!" He said.
"Luffy and ace is our family!" Sabo, stand up and walk out.
Now, sabo knows about his mother past and her home. His goal is to find her home before the government finds it.

Was reading over the reverie arc tag and saw that you said to re-ask you about Im after what happened is revealed. (I'd provide the link but tumblr won't let me) So, while not much was revealed, thoughts?
what i think is really interesting about imu is how they compare and contrast to the other characters who have been set up for us as endgame villains, those being blackbeard and akainu. compared to both of them, imu is established quite late in the series, and how they will fit into the unrolling narrative and themes of the story is still somewhat unclear.
both blackbeard and akainu are established firmly well before they enter the main story as primary antagonists. we hear about blackbeard as far back as alabasta and meet him in jaya, while akainu is first seen in robin's enies lobby flashback and mentioned even before that. and they each also embody a strong thematic conflict with the main characters that is going to need to be overcome by the end of the story.
blackbeard mirrors luffy in his pursuit of the pirate king's throne, existing in the same lineage of villains as doflamingo and big mom. it seems almost certain that he will be the final and most difficult fellow challenger for the title of pirate king that luffy will need to face, and the eventual showdown between the blackbeards and strawhats has been telegraphed for quite some time. the question this conflict asks is, what does it mean to be a pirate? what does it mean to be a pirate king?
meanwhile, akainu is the embodiment of authoritarianism. he's the law, brutal and indiscriminate; he represents the order that would stifle freedom. he is much more alike to antagonists like rob lucci and cp-9. while i usually try to avoid speculation on this blog, i think akainu's final defeat will probably not be at luffy's hands; i think a showdown with sabo is much more likely. and the reason i think this is because the question that the conflict with akainu asks is, what does real justice look like? this is ultimately the question of the conflict between the marines and the revolutionaries; they are two armies fighting over whether the current order will be maintained or torn down and built anew.
so, then, imu. we meet them quite late in the game, and still know very little about them. however, i do think this is in itself thematically resonant; we see almost no trace of imu anywhere else until we reach mariejois itself, because they have been deliberately erased from the world. imu is tied, specifically and inextricably, to the mystery of the void century, of the erased history, and we will only learn the truth about them when we learn the truth about everything else.
imu's role in the story seems to be specifically to finally provide a direct antagonist to the overarching myth arc of the void century, the forgotten ancient kingdom, and the will of d; the imperial crimes of the world government, shoved endlessly under the rug. can you build a world-spanning kingdom on a lie? will it stand? for how long? there can be no such thing as an immortal empire no matter how much force you might use to make it so. you can't pin the sun in place in the sky.
while it's impossible to really guess this conflict is going to unfold given how much information we still don't have, my top three guesses for who will be primarily involved are robin (for obvious reasons; unraveling the truth of the void century is her dream, and imu stands directly in the way of that), vivi (also obvious; imu is targeting her directly), and law (both because his new goal is to unravel the meaning of the will of d and because it seems significant that imu is likely a previous recipient of the ope-ope no mi's immortality technique).

I don’t wanna sound like a big nerd here but I’ve been hyper fixated on the admirals (especially Akainu) and like the whole yakuza thing people keep talking about—guess what? The person Akainu was based off of is actually an actor who did NUMEROUS yakuza movies. His name is Bunta Sugawara. Oda really wasn’t lying when he said Bunta’s the most handsome guy in the world…
So much Sakazuki hate its actually crazy. But that’s okay. More for the 9 other people who love Akainu🤷♀️
For context they are responding to this post about Akainu
All the One Piece admirals are based on famous Japanese actors and some of their most famous roles.
And plenty of people love Akainu and the rest of the admirals in the fandom. Sometimes, I think people are scared to admit it

The worst part about trying to figure out what Crocodile's deal is that because he's so fucking irredeemably evil in Alabasta... Like... Yeah he's just irredeemably evil. Like I love him but he did cause countless casualties, a ton of pain and suffering and literally attempted to blow up a million people
Like no amount of theoretical "trying to do it to save his son from the Government" or "trying to stop the Government from hurting anyone else" or just "doing it for the greater good" is going to make him any less of a mass murderer
But also Robin absolutely 100% helped with all of that shit simply because she wanted to read the Poneglyph for herself.
No amount of her intending to betray Crocodile from the begining and sabotaging his plans erases the fact that Robin also caused countless people to starve to death and die in the civil war. Her sabotages only succeeded out of sheer luck, and only spared the lives of the people at the final battle. She has the blood of countless innocents on her hands. Because she wanted to read history.
But her crimes were swept under the rug because she has a sad backstory and her sabotages worked out just at the nick of time by sheer dumb luck
So Croc??? Just??? Is there a chance??? At all???
But also he did literally intend to sell Buggy into slavery
Like, fuck Buggy, but jesus
What's also killing me is that we like. Don't know what Luffy thinks of Crocodile right now. Which really is like. The thing that will decide how we, as the readers, are supposed to feel about Crocodile. Luffy is our POV
Like we don't know what Luffy's opinion of Crocodile is after he helped save Luffy (and spared Ace once) during the Summit War. Like Luffy clearly fucking hated the man in Impel Down and the two interactions they had during the War weren't like positive (in the sense that Luffy himself didn't think of the interactions as particularly positive. Defending Whitebeard from being attacked once and then being like "wait what HIM?!" when Crocodile defended Ace. To be fair, in the midst of the chaos, there wasn't much time to spend on Pondering On Such Things because Ace needed to be saved, and Oda goes out of his way to not show us what's going on inside Luffy's head, because it's all meant to be out in the open anyways. Regardless, these weren't like "yay it's Crocodile! :)" moments for Luffy is what I mean)
But also Luffy was very grateful of Law for saving his life and was willing to put his trust into Law for their alliance- of course, they weren't explicitly enemies to begin with, rivals at most, but still. Luffy respects those who help him.
But also Luffy grew during the timeskip. Like he's not that clueless anymore (like he finally understands Hancock is in love with him etc), and similarly Luffy gets that Buggy is an absolute loser now. But also Buggy did also help save Luffy's life (even if it was by accident), and while IDK if Luffy is aware of that, I don't think that helped improve Luffy's impression of Buggy
So like. The fuck does Luffy think of Crocodile, at this moment? Even with the Cross Guild reveal, he didn't even really comment on Croc and just focused his energy on being confused about Buggy being "the leader" of CG. IDK it feels almost intentional or something, that we don't know what Luffy thinks?? Especially since we did get Zoro's opinion on Mihawk in the situation?? Or am I delulu?? (Sidenote. I'd love to know what Robin would have to say about Crocodile helping save Luffy's life. What Jinbei might think of the final words Crocodile left him with before blasting them out of Akainu's reach. But mainly just Robin's thoughts)
Like IDK my best guess would be that Luffy still hates Crocodile just the same but is like grossed out by technically owing him one??? In the classic
-kinda way, you know? And that he'd be just kinda confused about it?
Because I can't fucking imagine Luffy being like "oh we're cool now" with Crocodile, let alone "Yay Crocodile :) He saved my life!". But also like. Luffy does kind of owe Croc one. Kind of. And Luffy is usually very respectful of that kind of thing. Aaaaaaaa???
(Also does. Does Luffy even know it was Crocodile who yeeted him and Jinbei out of Akainu's reach to begin with. 'Cause he was unconcious. Knocked the fuck out. Does. Does Luffy even know. Did anybody tell him???)
I just.
There's the reasonable part of me that knows Crocodile is an irredeemable evil dickbag and everything he has ever said and done up to the most recent chapters support that. He is too far gone.
And then there's the absolutely delulu part that loves a tragic villian who gets a heartwrenching redemption that's looking for any fucking sign that could indicate Crocodile could maybe be one
#Moon posting#OP Meta#OP Spoilers#Sir Crocodile#Crocodad#Haunted by thoughts of one (1) evil middle aged man#IDK I was rereading Punk Hazard today while on the train and just. God there's like no difference between Alabasta Croc and Ceasar#I mean there is but no there isn't. Dude was doing essentially the same shit just this time with much more child abuse#And we all agree that Ceasar is scum of the earth and irredeemable.#But also he was doing everything PURELY out of self-interest without ANY sad backstory to counter balance it#I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK ANYMORE MAN I AM LOSING MY MARBLES#Kuma Flashback I Love You but I need to know what the fuck is happening with Crocodile so bad pleeeaaase#There's also like that note about Kuma saying he'd be wiling to make a deal with the devil just to protect his daughter#And If Crocodad Real. What a greater evolution of that but being wiling to BECOME the devil himself to protect your child#Also sorry about the Buggy slander but also not sorry. All that man is good for is being a punching bag for comedy as far as I'm concerned#He's very funny I'll give you that. And I'm looking forward to him and Shanks getting married

Luffy is absolutely going to lose an eye conspiracy theory.
First, the single most piratey character design feature, the eye patch, has yet to be utilized. I’m pretty sure in SBS at some point Oda said he was saving it for a specific character. Who better to get this most piratey of accessories than the king of the pirates?
Second, the literal FIRST thing we see Luffy do (in the manga the anime switches this around) is try to stab his eye out. To prove he’s brave enough to be a pirate. He does not succeed, because he is a little kid and he is in fact not at that point resolved enough to take his eye out. But he absolutely is where he is now. Luffy has exactly two scars that get drawn btw. Akainu’s blow that killed Ace and nearly killed him, aka the worst injury he’s ever had… and a tiny cut he gave himself when he was 6. We are in shonen anime rules where only important things scar- because getting impaled by crocodile didn’t leave a mark. We know why Akainu scared Luffy. So why is that eye scar important?
Then there’s the Buddhist aesthetics that get liberally spread around (this is not shocking, based on the fact that Journey to the West is the great-grandfather of this story, more on that at 11). Three eyes as something that can cause an awakening of perception and allow the ability to hear the voice of all things is already something that exists in the story as a concept with the three-eyed-tribe. Pudding seems to have been being groomed for this purpose by her mother and now Blackbeard agrees. But that’s three eyes not one? Why does that mean Luffy would lose an eye?
Because Luffy is flanked by his wings, Zoro and Sanji. And Zoro is missing an eye. And Sanji always keeps one eye covered. We’re creating a unit with three eyes between them. Btw the wings of the bodhisattva are compassion and wisdom… I guess Zoro can be wise sometimes? He’s certainly not a high intelligence build.
Main point: Pirate King Luffy with Roger’s hat and an eyepatch. Because it would be rad.
#before the time skip everyone used to headcanon sanji was missing an eye#it was this huge thing I remember I was there#but why did they stop post time skip?#he changed which eye he covered after keeping it consistent for 19 years#it totally could be cause he lost an eye!#i don’t think it is#but it certainly could have been#monkey d luffy#one piece

Yeah I have thoughts. So many. This'll probably get long and repetitive.
I'm only on the ep with the beginning of Ace's arrival to Wano. I never realized he came to Wano before joining Whitebeard. I guess he got in a lot of shipwrecks.
I think this furthers my belief that when Ace said he died with no regrets, except for not seeing Luffy achieve his dream, it was a big fat lie. It was a lie meant to make it easier for Luffy to accept his death.
Ace made so many promises that he couldn't keep. It's so in their nature (ace and luffy and probably sabo too) to promise the world to anyone they find suffering. And so often, at least for Luffy because of that protagonist's halo, they are able to keep their promises.
But all 3 of them are so reckless with their lives – they don't fear death, but they also don't respect death, and they don't respect what death means for those they leave behind.
Each survived on luck and determination so many times, until for Ace, that wasn't enough. He left behind people he swore to be there for. Now, I don't think he actually stood there and weighed the consequences of turning around to fight Akainu, or that he connected that taking unnecessary risks could lead to him breaking promises.
But I do think it's fair to say that he never understood that his promises to just be there mattered to anyone. So of course can be reckless with his life and accept death with a smile, because death to him was just the ending of his own silly life. He never believed there'd be a little girl counting on his promise, using the weight of that to fill her stomach when there was no food. He never could have imagined himself being that important to anyone - not even Luffy.
It broke my heart to hear how casually and plainly Luffy told Otama of Ace's death.
"It's true. Ace is dead. It doesn't matter when or where she finds out. He's not coming back."
I know Luffy is the epitome of sunshine and looking forward, but it really felt like he said it in such an unemotional manner because that was the only way he could get the words out. If he'd allowed himself to break it to her slowly, or show an ounce of how much he missed Ace, he'd break down. He also hasn't told them yet that he's Ace's younger brother, maybe because that's also too hard to get out.
I love that Luffy is ultimately able to fulfill Ace's promises on Wano on his brother's behalf. And in a way Sabo is fulfilling Ace's broken promise to Luffy. And that's beautiful and tragic and underscores the importance of their brotherhood and the family they found.
But god is it hard to accept. I'm so used to One Piece showing me characters who do get their dreams fulfilled before death, who do manage to fulfill their own promises before death (or fulfill their promises at the cost of their lives), that a character leaving a trail of broken promises feels so false...
And I'm sorry, but to me "carrying the will of Ace" forward feels like a poor substitute for the character themselves. After all, Ace was his own person with his own dreams outside of either of his brothers. As much as they fight for what they know he cared about, neither can live his dream for him.
---
I'm really interested to see how Ace meets Yamato and also what causes him to leave Wano and promise to come back. Obviously he was not remotely strong enough to fight Kaido at that time. Did he plan to come back once he got stronger too? With Whitebeard's fleet backing him up?

Oh, Sweet Child of Mine (Pt. 15 END)
Platonic Yandere Whitebeard Crew (Ft. Others) & Reader Insert
Main|First|Previous
Warnings: Yandere behavior. Mild spoilers for Gear 6 iykyk. If yandere content makes you uncomfortable, please do block the tag 'oh sweet child of mine' as well as any variation of 'one piece yandere' that you feel is necessary.
Aside from AU romance endings with characters per request, this is the end! Marco and Luffy confirmed, btw. Now, I'm going to be playing Tears of the Kingdom so my responses will be slow lol
But thanks everyone for being here and enjoying this fic until now, expect it to be on AO3 soon!
Word Count: 2,043
It was a minor miracle that Ace’s little ship made it through the blast that rocked Banaro island. Likely because it was made to handle Ace’s normal fire-shenanigans. It didn’t exactly have room for three on it, but that’s only if you’re of the opinion that people need personal space. Something that, as someone who has been thoroughly grounded, you apparently didn’t need. Marco held you to his chest as he sat in front of the ‘bucket’ where Ace fueled the engine with his fire. You suspect that he was using his phoenix legs to hold into the sides but couldn’t confirm with your poor eyesight.
If he wasn’t partially transformed to hold you both in place it was impressive considering the breakneck speed Ace pushed the Striker at.
You drifted off several times only to find that you three were still traveling. It was only when you woke up starving that you saw Ace lean Striker towards a landmass.
“We’ve made really good time. This island has an optometrist so we can get you new glasses.” Marco spoke into your ear softly despite the wind whipping by you. Not feeling like fighting to be heard, you nodded your head.
Ace expertly pulled the boat up to the docks, tying it off and offering his hand for Marco and yourself. After well over a day at sea, you were a bit shaky but pleased to find you didn’t trip. The docks blurred into what you assumed to be a marketplace, both Marco and Ace finding a reason to keep a hand on you as they guided your path into a shop.
You were utterly relieved when you were handed a new pair of glasses after a few tests. The thick lenses shifting the impressionist blurs into sharp contrasting shapes once again.
Marco gave Ace a sly look.
“You know, I thought I saw the Thousand Sunny on the other side of the docks.” Marco mused, watching Ace’s face abruptly light up.
“We should go see them!” Ace looked at Marco in excitement. When he nodded in acceptance, Ace grabbed your hand and pulled you along eagerly. “You’ll finally get to meet my little brother properly! Lu’s got a great crew you know—his chef is top notch, I’m sure he won’t mind making us something to eat!”
You laughed, using your free hand to make sure your glasses didn’t bounce off your face so soon after getting them.
“Do you even know if they’re on board?!” You asked as Ace tore through the town in his rush.
“Eh, it’s fine! Luffy won’t mind if I drop by!” Ace proclaimed. You looked behind you to find Marco gone. Hopefully he decided to just fly there rather than fight to keep up through the crowds.
The Thousand Sunny was a pretty big ship with a cute lion’s head on the mast with a pointy mane like the sun. The gangplank was out so Ace just steamed up it with you in tow.
“LUFFY!” Ace screamed out, whipping his head around as Marco landed on deck with an indulgent smile. There was a crash somewhere below and thudding steps.
“ACE!” Straw Hat slammed open the door with a wide, excited grin.
“Stop BREAKING SHIT, LUFFY!” A woman screamed from below, quickly following her captain. Straw Hat wasn’t listening as he launched himself at Ace, arms stretching out and wrapping around his brother as he laughed. Ace gripped his brother’s red vest, swaying the two of them in loose circles.
“Did ya get ‘em? Did ya?!” Straw Hat asked childishly as a young woman with orange hair emerged from below, panting for breath from running.
“Sure did, Lu! See, I—We—Even rescued our crewmate.” You raised your hand and smiled.
“Sup.” Straw Hat’s eyes were wide as he finally noticed you were there.
“Eh?!? What happened to you?!” Straw Hat asked, arm stretching out to drag you in close. While you looked way better than before, you were still wrapped with bandages to keep your healing wounds from getting irritated from the high speeds of the Striker. Marco had been strangely dragging out the healing process—or possibly you were just that exhausted that your fruit didn’t properly share the powers just yet.
Straw Hat’s fruit still thrummed against your skin. A calling of the drums that resonated in your chest with that snappy, elastic taste that made you want to smile.
“Well, I got launched out of a sudden volcano and then hitched a ride in Mao’s mouth.” You explained, tolerating the gentle manhandling as Luffy squeezed you into the hug with Ace.
“Mao?” The young lady asked.
“Yeah. Mao. They might be here, actually. Baby~!” You called out shamelessly.
There was a deep, resonating call from the sea as Mao rose up. You squirmed free and ran to the side of the ship.
“Mmmmaaaoooo~! Maaooo~!” Mao called out, leaning down for gentle pets.
“Baby! Pretty baby, lookachu! Ahah~!” You laughed, stroking their nose as Straw Hat laughed behind you.
“Cool! Ace! You didn’t tell me they were friends with a sea king!” Straw Hat ran up and reached out his hand.
“L-Luffy!? Don’t get close to it! You don’t know if it’ll eat you! Can somebody talk sense into him!?”
You grabbed Straw Hat’s hand and gently placed it under Mao’s jaw.
“Mao’s a baby still, so their scales aren’t completely hardened yet. A little scratching right here feels nice cause that’s usually where they start shedding.” You explained softly, Straw Hat absolutely enraptured with a wide, beaming grin. He looked back at his brother.
“This is a baby?!” Ace shrugged his shoulders helplessly and you grinned.
“Yep! Sea Kings grow a lot before they reach maturity. It’s when they grow whiskers that you know they’re fully grown!” You declared.
“Wow! How do you know that?!” You chuckled, pushing up your glasses.
“My home island was near a sea king nest!” You laughed, “But they didn’t tend to go near the island, so we just knew by proxy.”
“I heard we had guests?” A blond man ducked his head out, catching sight of Ace before sighing. “I’ll fire up the stove. Two Ds… sheesh.”
“Join my crew!” Straw Hat asked with starry eyes. You saw Marco and Ace stiffen with Ace looking conflicted. You couldn’t help but laugh and smile wryly.
“No can do. I’m grounded. Sides, you guys aren’t ready for the Grand Line yet.” You tipped your head to the side, expanding your still sore senses. “You have two other devil fruit users that are pretty strong but it only gets harder from here on out. I can’t be a crutch.” You sighed.
Straw Hat pouted.
“What do you mean?” You looked at him with a bit of an indulgent smile. You get why Straw Hat was viewed as a rising star in piracy. But charisma would only get him so far.
“My devil fruit can influence other devil fruits. Make them stronger—or as I realized recently—negate them completely. You… tell you what, ask me again when you find the drums.” You poked his chest teasingly. Everyone looked confused. “…What is your devil fruit power?”
“I’m a rubber man!” Straw Hat declared.
You gave a soft, mysterious smile, finally giving into the impulse to ruffle his hair through his hat.
“Are you sure about that? Find the drums, Straw Hat, and then maybe I’ll join you.” You said. If he managed to find the limits of his devil fruit all on his own, he would probably not suffer the same hubris as your previous ‘partners’. Ace and Marco hadn’t despite being in close contact with you, after all.
Straw Hat huffed, face twisting with determination.
“Fine! I’ll find those drums, wherever they are, and then you’ll join my crew!”
Marco looked like he ate a lemon with Ace not much better, though oddly a little touched in spite of himself. Like he was proud but not sure of what.
--*--
The Moby Dick came into view rapidly with Ace whooping in joy, firing off sparks to let the crew know of your approach. There was, even over the wind, cheers as Ace pulled up close to the ship.
Ace swept you up into his arms and leapt up, planting his feet firmly on the railing as Marco sighed and followed suit. You laid in his arms awkwardly, thinking that this time was hardly any better than your first time on board.
Whitebeard laughed, grinning as Ace skipped over.
“We’re back, Oyaji!”
“Welcome home, my children.” You sighed, not surprised in the least as Ace sat on Whitebeard’s knee.
Whitebeard looked at you, taking in the mostly superfluous bandages.
“Surprisingly, it’s good to be back.” You grumbled without any heat.
Did it still weird you out? Absolutely. You don’t get what any of them saw in you that inspired such ferocity as to track you down across the Grand Line to get you back.
Whitebeard’s smile softened.
“I’m glad you all returned safely.” He murmured as someone stomped up to the main deck.
“You’re back!” Thatch cried out joyously, his usual chef ensemble swapped for loose pants and a shirt. Clearly, he was still on light duty as the nurses nearby scolded him for running. You elbowed Ace to let go and hopped down to the floor, aware that everyone was watching as you approached the suddenly nervous chef.
He glanced around for a hint of what was going on as you walked up to him. Then while he was still stiff with nerves, you wrapped your arms around his chest, gently patting his back.
“I’m glad you’re alright, Thatch.” You mumbled into his shirt. There was a high pitched cry as his arms locked around you, spinning you in circles.
“AH! AHHHH?! You did it! You used my name~!” Thatch cried out as several nurses protested to the vigorous movement, though on who’s behalf you weren’t sure.
You grinned.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself, Twin-Blade.” You said dryly, loud enough to be heard by everyone while hiding your smile. The effect was instant. His arms twitching as he nearly fell to his knees in mock-despair.
“Noooooo! My name! Use my name, damnit!”
You laughed, patting his back consolingly.
“Sure thing, Twin-Blade.”
“No!” Thatch barked, as the crew laughed at his plight.
While not what you imagined, life as a pirate wasn’t so bad if it meant feeling like this.
You considered your now bare wrist, no supportive cloth there to remind you of your past. What you hoped for in your future. Not quite freedom symbolized in marine-standard blue but consistency and a promise to support people. Nor a chain to remind you of your literal, more understandable imprisonment. You were free to put whatever you wanted there once they decided you didn’t need the bandages anymore.
And then? Well, it was a pretty good place for a tattoo… whenever you’re not grounded anymore and can slip away to get it done.
“…Hey, what does being grounded even look like?” You asked Thatch, Marco and Ace having avoided the subject. You assumed it was because they didn’t know either.
Thatch paused, looking over at his brothers and Whitebeard.
“…Nooooo mooooorrreeee… avoiding… parties?” Thatch guessed, receiving cheerful agreements all around. You couldn’t help but snort.
“You know, usually groundings means less of those.” You pointed out but Thatch nodded resolutely.
“Eating every meal!” Thatch added.
“I already did that?”
“More training!” Someone suggested.
“Okay, that makes sense but—”
“Hanging out with Oyaji!”
“Hey now! Don’t get ahead of yourself!” You barked, feeling ganged up on as more suggestions were added, Whitebeard doing nothing but adding to the chaos.
“Given names only.” He nodded and you sputtered.
“I’m not calling you Edward!” You huffed, craning your neck to glare back at him. He paused before smiling.
“That’s alright. Oyaji or Pops is fine with me.” You groaned, burying your face into Thatch chest as you fought the urge to laugh.
“Hey, you have to follow the rules. You’re still grounded.” Thatch teased.
“Does that mean I can stop when I’m not grounded?” You needled. Thatch letting out a bark of laughter.
“Hah! No.”
Why did you decide to stay again?

ASUL Siblings: Incorrect Quotes XX
Ace, Sabo, Uta and Luffy are sitting together in the same jail cell. Again. Ace: Well… Sabo: Whatever you're thinking, don't say it. Ace: *snorts* Luffy: I don't even know why they arrested us this time. Ace: Sabo: Uta: Luffy is right. The Marines had no reason to arrest us. At least this time. Sabo: We started a fight in a bar. Uta: No, that was self-defense. They threw the first punch. Sabo: We destroyed the theme park in the fight? Luffy: Self-defense, Sabo. Sabo: All four of us punched Akainu!? Uta and Luffy: Self-defense. Sabo: But… Ace: In fact, it's true. The punch was going to be for those idiots who attacked us. Sabo: But… Ace: No, Sabo. Don't say any more. We'll keep that version. Hopefully Shanks and the others will understand. Ace: By the way, who is the brave guy who wants to make the call? Sabo: Uta: Luffy: Ace: Sabo, sighing: I guess we'll do what we did last time, wait for the Marines to contact whoever's relevant.

The Monkey D. Clan is full of crazy strong people. Dragon, Crocodile, Garp, the kids...even the extended relations such as Roger; Rayleigh being a weird sorta there uncle (possibly) or "mom" to Dragon; do we consider Shanks an uncle, brother (to Ace) or Luffy's adopted dad?; Whitebeard. Regardless big crazy strong family however you look at it Regardless if you add people like Whitebeard and Shanks into it.
The question really is, is which Marine officer has the biggest or most outrageous response to learning how insane the Monkey D. Clan is and who's apart of it? Sengoku? Smoker? Akainu? A different Marine?
A part of me wants to cause Akainu as much headache as possible because I hold on to my grudges (he killed Ace!!!!! Never forgive, never forget. <- I'm joking. Mostly. It's been over a decade. There are other characters that annoy me more. I just want to torment him though >:3)
I feel Sengoku might have an idea of the Monkey D. family chaos so he might not even be that shocked once he learns just who is part of this family.
Smoker's reaction to Crocodile being Luffy's other dad would be fun probably, but he's not one that you can easily throw off course, so he'd shrug it off. Doesn't change anything in his goal to capture Luffy.
So yeah, I guess Sakazuki would be the funniest option. Maybe Dragon (who might personally know Sakazuki from his marine days) has a bet with Garp: how many Monkey D. Clan family relation reveals does it take to get Sakazuki to throw in the towel and quit his job?

One Piece Chapter 1125 - Initial Thoughts
A week break gone and now we're back again
It always takes so long but we return to One Piece. Elbaf is on the horizon, and while questions float over Vegapunk there may still yet be a little more before we reach the land of giants.
Let's see what we have
Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release too!
Yamato's latest pit stop is the still-rebuilding Oden castle
Minatomo the carpenter has gone missing, so I guess that's the next step - probably missing his student who happens to actually be very skilled at carpentry
The WG continue to wrap things up on Egghead, ready to load the Seraphim and leave, we don't know what they intended for the Mark IIIs and the Weaponized Sea Beasts though
Lucci and Kaku board with angered faces, claiming Stussy was KIA
Unusual for Lucci to lie about that though isn't it?
Saturn though wraps up the benefits of the operation, citing that getting York and the Mother Flame is a win, but there was one critical hiccup
The Vice Admirals are in audience with him, and apologize for failing to capture Bonney and the Straw Hats even with a Grand Buster Call
They ask to make chase to Elbaf, but are turned down
The true hiccup was Vegapunk's message getting out
He also mentions that the awakening of Emeth was ironic
We get a flashback 200 years ago, turns out Emeth being studied on was by Saturn's permission! He wanted the tech for military might
Man literally left a 200 year chekhov's gun on the table
As Saturn mulls about Emeth, Vice Admiral Doberman makes a foolish mistake, and asks if that means Vegapunk's message was true
And thus he gets eyeshotted, though he seems to just be KO'd, since they call a medic
Something's happening in the Labophase though
York sees a ton of clouds in the lab, and realises that a plan has been undertaken
Edison's not dead! But York is trying to rectify that
But it's a feint, and as York fires to the side the top half of the egg floats away
Punk Records has been swiped from the clutches of the WG
Back at Marejois and naturally, the Celestial Dragons are not taking the low food supplies well
Sadly that means lots of killing and blaming
Akainu catching a stray for not capturing Kuma, but it seems that most of the Dragons were unaware of Vegapunk's reveal
Figarland Garling approaches the remaining Gorosei in their usual place
He has new orders: York is under his command now, because he's the new Minister of War
Saturn fucked up and now he just got demoted! That really ruins the planet motif
Oh but what of Saturn? He screams in agony on his ship
Looks like Imu has no use for him, and the black haze that seemed to restore them from damage now suffocates him
The Vice Admirals just look in horror, unknown to what's causing this
The seemingly impervious Saturn retches and grows thinner, almost hollowed out
Imu tells him their motives; Joy Boy was allowed to escape, so they are responsible
Black smoke and flames erupt from the ship, and what remains of Jaygarcia Saturn is just bones
Back at the now floating Punk Records, it seems the satellites are all alive, chatting among each other
Shaka notes they intended to get the whole Fabriostratum, but they're glad to get Punk Records out of York's hands
Pythagoras notes that she can still link up with Punk Records, but it'll only to be to fulfill its original intention
Shaka predicts it'll still take 500 years to achieve its true objective
But everyone thinks they're dead so there's limited pursuit, but that also means no funds
Edison has a new body, a frankenbody of spare parts
His own head, Atlas and Pythagoras' arm, and Shaka's torso and legs
Shaka also jabs at Edison for always admiring his height
Atlas however wants York's spare parts thrown out, which the rest of the group agree on
It is very fortunate Sanji never found this room of spare body parts
Edison also has another connection up his sleeve, and calls Weatheria!
Over to the Revolutionary Army and they are gathering the intel from Vegapunk's message
They also conclude that whoever gets the One Piece gets access to the power to destroy the world too
Belo Betty seems like she is ready to oppose the pirates, and in turn Luffy and Robin
Sabo doesn't comment, only noting that it explains why the first Celestrial Dragons took up home on the Red Line
Oh! Tequila Wolf wasn't the only one...Vodka Wolf, Rum Wolf and Bourbon Wolf
We know there's a Vodka kingdom since that's where Kaido came from, wonder if that's a connection
Dragon mulls on the coast, noting how many will take Vegapunk's message to scramble for higher land
Looks like Dragon's got a boot up the ass, to speed up his plan
Well this is interesting
The power structure has changed, Figarland Garling is our new Gorosei, Saturn is no more. A brutal death to a seemingly unkillable being at the hands of Imu, but the interesting part is what it tells and what it implies. Saturn was a person, and it seems that Imu was able to keep him alive for so long, at least 200 years. Does that mean there were other Gorosei back in the day? And does the Gyuki transformation transfer over to Garling? Will he be empowered with a new shape? The World Government may still have York and the Mother Flame, but the loss of Punk Records is huge! I guess that's what Lilith meant by them not being dead, I guess they all still can connect to one satellite and share the body. The frankenbody is unusual, though I wonder if they'll come back in a different shape next time, following refinement for convenience given how weird their proportions are right now. Interesting not to hear the Stella talk either, I guess he could still be the brain jar but maybe he is the sole casualty?
The Celestial Dragons starving may've killed a Gorosei but it will lead to more violence and blaming, not gonna be good for the current climate, which is probably why Imu anticipates war. Imu is definitely paying attention to Luffy now, calling them Joy Boy, but Saturn did in a way cause all his own undoing, from Emeth, Kuma and Vegapunk himself, he underestimated everyone because they were insects to him and they all outwitted him, an ant bite can still kill a man.
The Revolutionary Army look to gear up for something big. They have been making smaller strides in general but maybe now Oda's gonna put them to work. I do kinda hope though that they don't directly oppose Luffy like Koby intends to, Sabo that is your brother and all the RA have friendly ties to Robin. Everyone is like 'this power is dangerous and can destroy the world' but nobody's reminding themselves that Luffy ain't about destroying the world. Like, maybe just help pave the way? The Grand Fleet need to be kicked into gear to help with that too.
All in all a lot to consume and chew on with this chapter, especially compared to the linear brevity of the last. I doubt we'll go to Elbaf next chapter though, we have the dangling thread of Kuma and Bonney still to deal with, and of course whatever game-changing thing is about to happen on the other sides of the world.
Oda and his round numbers man, he loves them round numbers.

Sugar Rush⁸
Summary: Reader has been working directly under the Admirals, Kuzan, Kizaru and Akainu for years. Little by little, the dynamic changes and friendship (and more) develops. These are all small stories that build on each other. The work is from 2017, not revised and the prologue of Aromatic Rush & Salty Rush.
Note: Now the other two for today. Btw. "san" and all isn't used too much here due to my past-me either forgetting OR wanting it, to show that the character are close to each other. I guess? XD Same for the switches between first & last name.
The late afternoon sun was dipping low on the horizon, casting long, warm rays through the windows of the HQ. The soft hum of activity had slowed down, signaling the end of another long day. I sighed as I closed the last report on my desk and stretched, feeling the tension leave my shoulders.
Tomorrow marked the beginning of my vacation, a break I had been eagerly awaiting for months. No more paperwork, no endless stacks of files, and no looming presence of the Admirals watching over my shoulder… yet, for some reason, the excitement I had expected wasn’t there. Instead, a strange, unexpected feeling had been creeping in over the last few days—a quiet sort of melancholy.
I couldn’t believe it, but… I was almost sad to leave.
After all the years I’d spent working here, I had gotten used to their presence. Akainu’s gruff, disciplined ways, Kizaru’s laid-back but sly demeanor, and Aokiji’s relaxed, almost carefree attitude. They all had their quirks, their little routines, and somewhere along the way, I had learned how to navigate them. Somehow, against all odds, I had become somewhat close to them.
I chuckled softly to myself as I gathered my things, slinging my bag over my shoulder. Close. What a funny word to describe my relationship with three of the most powerful men in the Navy. But there was no denying that they had become a strange sort of constant in my life, like gravity itself. A small part of me wondered how I’d handle the quiet days ahead without them around.
As I walked through the familiar halls, I passed by the large meeting room, where important strategy sessions were often held. The door was slightly ajar, just enough for me to hear the low rumble of voices inside. Curiosity got the better of me—after all, I knew their quirks, and eavesdropping wasn’t entirely out of character for me, especially now that I’d be gone for a while.
I took a cautious step closer, straining my ears to catch snippets of their conversation. I recognized Akainu’s deep, authoritative voice first, then the familiar lazy drawl of Kizaru, and the more casual, indifferent tone of Aokiji. From the sound of it, they were in the middle of a heated discussion.
My curiosity grew, and I leaned a little closer, trying to peek inside through the narrow gap in the door.
Big mistake.
The next thing I knew, I lost my balance, my foot slipping against the polished floor. With a gasp, I stumbled forward, pushing the door open and tumbling right into the room.
The room fell silent. Dead silent.
I scrambled to my feet, my face flushing red as I straightened up, trying to look as professional as possible despite my clumsy entrance. I had walked into what was clearly a high-level meeting, with all three Admirals seated around the large table, documents spread out before them.
Kizaru was the first to react. His lips curled into a slow, amused smile, his golden eyes glinting with mischief. “Well, well~. What a pleasant surprise, (L/N)-san. Couldn’t resist checking in on us, even during your last day, hm?”
I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. I could feel my face heating up even more as I tried to compose myself. “I—I didn’t mean to… I was just—”
Aokiji, who had been leaning back in his chair with his eyes half-closed, raised an eyebrow at me, his usual lazy expression softening just a bit. “You alright, (L/N)? Looked like a pretty rough fall.”
I cleared my throat, nodding quickly. “Yes, I’m fine. Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt…”
But it was Akainu who had me the most worried. His eyes were sharp, as always, and I could see the way his jaw clenched as he looked at me. I fully expected him to reprimand me on the spot for barging in.
But… he didn’t.
Instead, he simply sighed, crossing his arms over his broad chest. “You should be more careful,” he said, his tone surprisingly neutral. “This isn’t a place for distractions.”
I blinked in surprise. That was it? No harsh words, no angry outburst?
Kizaru chuckled softly, breaking the tension. “It seems our little office worker is going to miss us, hm~? Or maybe she just wanted to sneak in one last glimpse before her vacation.”
I shot him a look, trying to regain my composure. “I wasn’t sneaking in. I just—”
But Kizaru leaned forward, his chin resting on his hand as he gave me a teasing grin. “It’s alright, (L/N). No need to make excuses. It’s only natural you’d be curious about what we do behind these doors. After all, we are quite… intriguing, don’t you think?”
I rolled my eyes, knowing better than to fall into his trap. “I just wanted to make sure you weren’t causing any trouble, Admiral.”
Aokiji chuckled lazily from his side of the table. “Trouble? Us? Nah, we save that for the battlefield. Most of the time.”
Akainu, however, was not in the mood for jokes. “Enough,” he said firmly, his eyes cutting to Kizaru. “We have work to finish.”
Kizaru shrugged, still smiling but backing off just a little. “Of course, Sakazuki. I wouldn’t dream of distracting anyone.”
But before I could slip out of the room and disappear, Akainu’s voice stopped me.
“(L/N).”
I froze, turning to face him. “Yes, sir?”
His eyes softened slightly, though his expression remained unreadable. “Enjoy your vacation.”
I blinked, caught off guard by the simple, almost kind words. “Thank you, sir.”
“And when you return,” he added, his tone just a bit firmer, “be ready to work twice as hard.”
I swallowed nervously, nodding quickly. “Of course.”
With that, I turned and made a hasty exit, my heart still racing from the unexpected encounter. As the door closed behind me, I let out a breath I didn’t realize I’d been holding.
I couldn’t believe it. I had just stumbled into an important meeting with all three Admirals, and somehow, I had come out of it unscathed. Not only that, but Akainu had actually wished me a good vacation.
A small smile tugged at my lips as I walked down the hallway, the thought lingering in my mind. Despite their intimidating presence and their quirks, they really weren’t so bad after all. Maybe that was why I was going to miss them.

Ok I know there's already anlther DYB ask for Akainu and no one ever votes for it but I have to send my own anyways because the fact that anyone finds this man attractive is baffling to me
So first of all, look, I get why people find villains and stuff hot even despite committing horrible atrocities and I'm not gonna be like "oh but he killed ace!" or whatever even though that was a complete dick move (like insulting the whitebeard pirates was so uncalled for dude chill) but also he Did commit genocide. Like there is a reason the O'Hara incident had only one survivor. Like it wasn't only him but he did order the destruction of that ship
But ignoring that, because, again, I understand characters can be hot in spite of or because of the atrocities they committed, he's just... not attractive? Like I'd get finding him hot despite the stuff he did if he had an entertaining personality or was physically attractive but he really Does not.
Like his personality is basically just Absolute Justice personified which just kinda makes him a dick and not in a particularly fun or entertaining way
And appearance wise? He just has nothing going for him. Like he's better post timeskip with the scar, the facial hair, and the cigar, and I like his hawaiian shirt, but he's still not hot aside from the literal sense. Like, I guess he's an old/older big buff dude but like. One Piece has characters thar fit that description that are actually attractive? Or at the very least more attractive than fucking Fleet Admiral Sakazuki
So he's just very "go girl give us nothing!" a complete asshole with 0 appealing qualities. The only good thing about him is he mentored the best marine in the series but that guy isn't even canon and it doesn't really make Sakazuki any more attractive. And straight up, barring Ryokugyu, all the other admirals, both pre and post-ts, are genuinely hotter than Akainu
Also I don't find this relevant but people seem to bring it up sometimes in DYB so I guess I'll do so too? That man would NOT be good in bed let's not kid ourselves. And that's if you could even get him there since he's way too busy doing paperwork and when he's not doing that he's probably killing pirates
Like idk I think Sakazuki fans just need to take the L here
Defend Your Blurbo #59
Please remember this post is about curiosity and genuine fandom discourse. Be kind with your answers because this is not a debate essay, this is a discussion between fans
Meet Sakazuki, aka Fleet Admiral Akainu from One Piece. He ate the Magu Magu no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to create, control, and transform into magma at will, turning the user into a Magma Human.
This will probably be our most controversial dyb to date. He is perhaps one of the most despised characters in one piece due to his unforgivable sin of killing a beloved character. So this one's going to be interesting, but I do know he has fans who are thirsty for him, including me. So, One Piece fandom defend your blorbo.
