#ive always liked him but i was in denial about it until i read the myspace stuff #it was then i realized i wasnt a fool for liking the stereotypical character #because he was rather prominent back in the day #he was one of the only when pizzas attack debutants important enough to be named. he had a myspace account.#in the development of pizzeria he was almost going to have something that people assume was similar to the blue ribbons #but as the focused shifted to gamerias his entire thing kind of became The Food Guy #to the point where theres a joke on the official blog posts about cupcakeria and donuteria of him wanting to order 4 cupcakes and 6 donuts #which is double the maximum amount #i don't really hate that hes The Food Guy (because i relate)#but some people are really mean spirited about it.#and i always used to think #there was no way to justify how upset that made me #because that was just how he is in the games. it was “true”#but like... some people think that's all he is and its not true at all #even if the gamerias make it seem like it is #god if i had a nickel for every time i liked a stereotypical character who had interesting details about them that no one knew about #bc most of the fandom refused to see them as anything but that stereotype #id have two nickels #i would like it to stay at that amount. anyways. id like to tag this properly now #papa louie #flipline studios #flipline big pauly #bluebay art

So do you guys actually think that Jason's entire story, relationship to the others, and philosophy amounts to him being a rebellious teen who wants his dad's attention? Like are you 100% serious? I thought you were joking about that but too many of you are saying it with your whole chest.

And what the fuck is this "Bruce antagonizing Jason is fanon!" Shit I've been seeing? You guys are aware that a parent can love their kid and still be a shit parent right? I know you guys don't want to fathom the thought that maybe your blorbo might also occasionally have to face responsibility for consistently endangering children but let's not start being delusional now.

Bruce does love his kids, that doesn't mean that he hasn't hurt them. And I'd also argue that for the most part he feels in the right for it, and he's said multiple times that he believes it's for their own good, so you can't even argue that he's sorry about it. It's okay for you guys to admit that your PERSONAL INTERPRETATION of the character wouldn't do that but don't sit here and pretend that it's not a facet of the source.

#you can argue meta until you're blue in the face #but I can't ignore the ingerent abuse of Batman and Robin because DC is always drawing attention to it #Stephanie and Jason directly died because of Robin #Stephanie wanted to impress Bruce to live up to his idea of a sidekick and prove her worth #Sheila only sold Jason out when she found out he was Robin #Damians life certainly got worse when he became Robin/moved with Bruce #if you bring up racist retcons I'll kill you btw #how are we supposed to read children dying and being tortured and traumatized constantly #and just ignore that these are children #I can ignore the reality of child sidekicks in campy light hearted early comics #but if DC wants to deal with serious topic they're going to have to deal with some serious implications too #Also that post that's going around about “Bruce loves Jason and it's Jason who's causing all the animosity” is such bullshit #what the fuck are you even talking about #and let's not act like Jason is the ONLY one at fault and Bruce is just a poor loving father #is Bruce spreading that utter bullshit about Jason's death and who he was not an act of violence?#was he not the one to cast the first stone by disgracing Jason's legacy and using a version of him that never existed as a cautionary tale #and I know some of you are going to argue that with most of the kids there's nothing Bruce could have done to stop them #and this is the one time in which I will ignore all the very real ways that he could have #but I still think that in universe the characters have a right to be angry about it #Jason always since his debut as red hood been a vehicle for calling out Bruce #he's so heavily steeped in meta narrative because his run is when they started dealing with the real BAD cases #The Cult Garzonas onscreen murders were getting more common #AND NO ONE CAN CONVINCE ME THAT BEING ROBIN DIDN'T MAKE JASON'S LIFE WORSE #THERE WAS NO REASON TO MAKE HIM ROBIN HE COULD HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY AS JUST A NORMAL KID #But Bruce made having a place in his home synonymous with being Robin because the narrative dictated it had to be #what was homeless orphan Jason going to do? say no?#it was basically coercion and it doomed him and he has every right to blame the adult that put him in that position #dc #bruce wayne critical #bat family

Okay, the one thing that does bother me is that Mt. Lady is the highest ranked female Pro Hero and not Miruko.

#fave spotting #michael craze #ben jackson #doctor who #gideon's way #1966 #boy with gun #itc #a relatively rare fave spotting! outside of his DW work‚ Mike didn't make a huge amount of appearances in cult tv‚ at least not many that #survive or are easily seen; he'd previously starred in Target Luna‚ a completely lost serial‚ but didn't return when the show carried on as #Pathfinders in Space (oddly‚ perhaps because of a change of director‚ every single returning character was recast) and beyond #there were also episodes of Dixon pf Dock Green and Armchair Theatre but these are also in all likelihood lost tv; others‚ like an ep of #Hammer's sci fi anthology Journey to the Unknown‚ are frustratingly unavailable to the average viewer (I was really hoping Network would #do something with JttU after they announced an agreement with Hammer but alas it wasn't to be)#mike would have been about 22 when filming this ep (around May '65) but was still largely playing juvenile parts as here #(his age isn't given but as a borstal runaway he's clearly intended to be a teen); this aired in feb or march '66 in most regions‚ by which #time he had presumably been cast in DW (or very near to it; he'd debut in The War Machines in June of that year)#DW would act as a sort of transition for Craze from youth parts into adult roles (i mean Ben's own age is debatable but I'd say he's surely #meant to be at least 18?). there'd be some more guest spots and a few horror films to come (he was a regular collaborator with Norman #J. The first Splatoon game turned 8 yesterday!

#the last (and first) time i drew anniversary art for the first game was when it turned 1 year #imna use the tags to be all sappy real quick:#ive been a huge fan of the splatoon series since the first game & have played it since day one #splatoon is the first time ive grown up with a game series from the beginning #like i knew it was gonna be a successful game that'd eventually grow and become a series w/ a cool fanbase #for first/third person shooter games (esp multiplayer)- i could never call myself a fan of those #but the moment splatoon debuted in an e3 trailer??? it took a concept i'd normally go meh to- but made it into smthn colorful/unique #like??? weeks after the announcement i was already gushing over what the lore would be in their universe #it got really tiring seeing all the hate it received- id watch ppl stream it out of interest and their chat'd be like uggh this ass title?#or id watch gamers do one single lets play of it and be like oh ok i can see how this game is fun (me assuming they'd doubt it's potential)#but to see how much splatoon as a series has grown has me kinda emotional ngl #like yeah sure theres still ppl outside the fandom who has (or still has since the 1st game) sour opinions about it #but ever since the fandom grew over those 8 years- it feels like the love for this series outshines that #but man.... i said this already on twt but i remember going to my first color run event locally w/ my family #(this happened weeks before the game came out btw) -but id have my phone out with the inklings on my screen #and id look at my phone & feel this happiness (that i havent felt in a while tbh) at being in an event that had a lot of colors in it #and at the time seeing all the powdered colors flying everywhere at the end of the race reminded me of splatoon sm i was like raaaaah #WOW SORRY FOR THE LONG TAGS LOL #BUT YEAH- I LOVE THIS SERIES (thats all i wanted to say)#splatoon #splatoon anniversary #splatoon 8th anniversary #fanart #loafbud

Honestly the funniest thing about Haruka's idol story line in y5 (and dont any of you come at me with the You're Lessening Mirei's Evil Heinous Actions shit, I know she was the antagonist, blah blah) is the fact that as far as traineeships go Haruka's.... wasn't all that unusual- Living on your own away from your parents? Par the course. Having older figures be unduly harsh about your talent/looks? Also par the course. Insane schedules? Creepy fans? Yep. In fact Haruka is older than a lot of people are when they start traineeships nowadays... Like that aspect of the game could have been played up for even more dramatic value than it was.

#Like in real life right now theres kids who have moved /countries/ to become idols #At as young as /12 years old/#and some of them dont see their families for years like Haruka's whole situation is less wild than a bunch of real people #god i got a random kpop video of a 17 yr old boy [who is already in a debuted group????]#and he was surprised with seeing his mum AFTER 3 AND A HALF YEARS ???#like he hadnt seen her in person since he was 13 and now hes 17 and...... How is that legal #Also that video fucked me up bc he wasnt even like happy he looked confused and shy and awkward like God send that boy home rn #all the therapy hes gonna need.... Anyway suffice to say #Having Haruka's storyline esp when you consider the people writing the games are in the JP entertainment industry was pretty interesting #Like they clearly have feelings and critiques and I liked that they tried to do something with that #Also one of the girls in y6 was a former idol who had her career ruined bc she dared to be seen #smoking with a male idol when she was 20 or so and got fired because of it- so i mean at least rgg gave her some work idk #this post is just a stream of consciousness rambling about how i find the idol industry interesting and odd #Some aspects of it i think are clever but other aspects are so HMMMMMM #20-30 years from now maybe even sooner i feel like theres gonna be some INTERESTING tell-alls

i’m absolutely not complaining about ttpd as an album, i love it even more than i thought i would, but i do kind of wish she would’ve waited to release it until after the eras tour was over so it could’ve gotten its own tour :/ like the visuals and the stage design and the outfits are just sooo good and not only is it being cut down into only seven songs so it can fit into an already massive setlist, but everyone who went to the shows in the us, mexico, south america, asia, and australia — aka a huge portion of the tour dates — didn’t get to see any of it live. like it’s so impressive that taylor was able to add the ttpd section into the existing setlist but i can't help but feel disappointed bc this means we likely won't get a ttpd tour, which is something i would kill to see </3

#i know so many people demand new content from her constantly but with everything she’s been doing we didn’t NEED this album so soon yk #i personally would’ve been fine waiting another year or even longer if it meant ttpd could get its own era #bc it’s kind of impossible for it to fully have that when she’s already a year into this huge tour #she’s already had to cut so many songs to fit everything (not even everything bc there’s no debut set)#with lover/folklore/evermore not getting their own tours bc of covid it makes sense why she did the eras tour instead of a midnights tour #but now that touring is an option again it would’ve been nice for her to slow down her releases a bit to really focus on new albums more #idk maybe this is a hot take bc ofc the eras tour is incredible and i do feel so lucky to have gotten to go at all #but i just really wish i could see ttpd songs live and it seems like i won’t get that chance until the next tour #which will likely be years from now and who knows how many albums she’ll have put out by then #rn all i can do is hope that she’ll add another us leg or something so i can see eras again with the new setlist #but that’s very unlikely since she’s already added shows in miami/indy/etc none of which i can afford travel for let alone resale tickets #no one’s gonna even see this but if anyone does i hope it’s not taken the wrong way bc she’s given us so much in the past few years #sorry for the essay i just love ttpd and i want to see it live </3 #lj speaks now
