A moment in the manga that always stuck out to me was chapter 307. Kagome chooses to save Kikyo's life, putting her own life at risk in the process, and ends up being saved by Kikyo.
Kagome stated that she did it out of obligation and Kikyo's feelings of conflict towards her answer was always a striking moment in their interactions. Kagome didn't even mention the fact that Kikyo saved her in return. She probably didn't even realise that just like how Kagome could have left Kikyo to die in that pool, Kikyo could have left Kagome to die in there as well.
But she didn't.
This page alone. Kikyo feels where her heart would be and talks about the kindness of Kagome who just saved her life, and talks about the warmth she feels!!!
IT'S STILL WARM.
The layers of meaning in that one line alone.
why a love triangle when we could've had:
#kagome higurashi#kikyo inuyasha#kikyou#inuyasha#manga#kagome and kikyo have such a relationship#they should have just gotten together and ignored inuyasha#even if inuyasha if far from as bad as he is in the anime in the manga#he still hurts kagome's feelings a lot because of kikyo#and never explains where they stand clearly#like yes#he is way more honest with kagome in the anime about kikyo#and is pretty clear hes mostly moved on from her#and clings to her out of the guilt of her dying#but he still hurts kagome's feelings so much by going after kikyo every second and not explaining himself#at least he gets better at explaining himself later in the manga#and there are far less misunderstandings about kikyo#but kagome still struggles with jealousy towards kikyo#anime inuyasha literally says “Can't I have them both?”#at one point#anime inuyasha is honestly far worse than manga inuyasha at this#like wayyyy worse#the anime really messed up the whole “love triangle” thing#which was barely in the manga

Fanfiction is so goated actually
No monetary incentive, just writing in one's free time. Some incentive for like kudos and comments, because who doesn't want to hear that someone else enjoyed what they wrote. Just writing a story that is good and/or enjoyable, no real-life pressure to keep it going because god forbid you and other people are depending on it financially.
Writing a story because you want to write a good story, so you can write what they want the way you want, at a pace that is realistic for you, with exactly the plot pacing you want there to be.
#c*rny posts#thinking about this after the my h*ro academia leaks lmao#i have read barely a few chapters of the manga and then kept up with it through tumblr osmosis#i was interested in how its gonna end#and after reading the leaks i was like 'well its up to the fanfic writers to write a good ending now'#cause. it was kind of underwhelming. like some stuff made sense and some things were just done badly#which is realistic considering h*rikoshi is apparently burned out to hell#and i was thinking. man. if i had to write AND illustrate a story for like ten years straight. because its my bread and butter#and there are other people depending on the story doing well to make money#it would 100% get to me. i would rather end it all lmao#which is why i think fanfic is so great#just writing a story that you want. that makes sense to you. that has elements you want. that is exactly as long as you want.#and there isnt even a possibility of really monetizing it so there is no drive to make is 'succeed' or make it as long as possible#this could be applied to just writing a 'regular' story also that is not intended for publishing#also kinda makes me think about h*ikyuu#i kinda do feel the timeskip and the ending were a bit rushed#but like. if it was me. i would have rushed it too lmao#after so many years of working on one thing and one thing only i would have been so done. just so done#and h*ikyuu ending to me wasnt even bad. it was good with good resolution of everything. with characters evolving and achieving their dreams#not necessarily volleyball related (like tenma)#the progress made realistic sense#but it did feel a bit rushed#anyway#fanfic and writing for yourself is great#and manga authors face way too much pressure from people dependent on them. from fans. even from society in general

When you're one of the most selfish mc who only saves people because it's part of a job you never wanted and did not get to chose or you would've died, who took your co-workers' morals and ideals because you didn't have any and desperately wanted to fit in somewhere, be it with the heroes or the villains, who's activelly haunted by one the most tragic past to have been created and suffer from a psychosis so bad (dare I say schizophrenia) that even your enemies acknowledged that you are mentally ill and objectively flawed in your judgement, never hesitated to try to kill anyone and has the most egoistic reason to be a good person but the fandom still thinks you're just a kind crybaby "I don't know what a gun is" homosexual twink.
#him being refered as an angel by Shibuzawa is FUCKING IRONIC !!#ASAGIRI IS ALWAYS IRONIC WHEN IT COMES TO LIGHT NOVELS CENTERED AROUND ATSUSHI#Ex : The plot of 55min being parallele to the Decay of Angels arc#He's also called the Man-eating tiger and yes I do think that Dazai lied to him when he said he never ate anyone to preserve his psyche#and was also called “the man who can see the future” and has time travelled with Akutagawa like why aren't we talking about that#his relationship with Mori is also actually good#Mori is one if not the only character who saved and helped Atsushi during their first meeting and kept good contacts with him#because yes Atsushi has seen Mori knowing that he was the pm boss off-screen and they had a normal exchange#I also think that Shibuzawa Atsushi and Fyodor are connected to a form of Holy Trinity#Believer/God/Angel or Messenger#Joseph/Jesus/Mary#or Fyodor and Atsushi as Jesus and Judas#but the instance of trinity in bsd are dare I say extreme#Oda/Ango/Dazai#Sigma/Fyodor/Nikolai#Atsushi/Akutagawa/Kyoka#and so on#and the whole situation around his ability which is unlike any other#It turns him into Byakko (her own being) (similar to Natsume) and nullify his wounds no matter how lethal (similar to Dazai and Yosano)#and enhance him even with his ability off making him constantly stronger than other characters and dare I say equal to the hunting dogs#yk the MODIFIED humans#and the plot of both 55mins and Dead Apple being around abilities and giving us Atsushi lore make me think that Atsushi and Byakko are 1/2#probably a sort of higher being since some abilities are very religious centered (how Fyodor sees abilities and Shibuzawa) 2/2#but I think it would lend toward a “sinner” position which would be crazy because that Atsushi would then probably be the reason why Fyodor#hates abilities so much if Atsushi and Byakko are somehow be connected to the “sin” of abilities#and so you guys know Atsushi's orphanage was a church so yes he's related to christianity#and the Decay of Angels is LITTERALY full of religious people to different degrees#and it would be ironic (once again) if the antagonists were the “Angels” and the protagonist a demon#I just realized that I did a lot of typos sorry I got too excited#but yeah keep calling bsd bad written (we're on barely chap.115 no good manga was finished by chap.115 guys just wait for the rest to drop)

Till this day I still think about how Sukuna wanted to possess Megumi's body for his technique, succeeded in that and then Yorozu commented on his face he replies how he likes this (Megumi's) face better.
My reaction was the first time was "if that was a dig to Yuji, bro... he has your face, he literally has what you would like as a teenager".
Became even funnier when learning Yuji is his nephew and Jin, Yuji's father, is the reincarnation of his (identical) twin. Meaning... YUJI INDEED HAS YOUR FACE! Yuji is like your nephew and son, Sukuna! THAT'S YOUR GENES BY SOUL!
#either he just hated seeing yuji share his face and smiling and that's why he preferred megumi's face who barely but still smiled#or sukuna lowkey thinks his family has terrible genes which i disgree with#personally I feel like he wasn't used to seeing a reflection of himself where he looks like sunshine personified#and that's why at least a reason sukuna provoked yuji so much#he wanted to malice pain anger etc. on that face because that's what he's used to#i did talk about this before#just kiya's thoughts#jjk#jujutsu kaisen#jjk manga spoilers#jjk spoilers#jjk 216#sukuna#ryomen sukuna#yuji itadori#itadori yuji

dang, try being a fan of a series in Japan
-limited items that sell out instantly the minute they go on sale, mostly to resellers who put them up on sites for 500 x the price
-trying to collect a physical version of a show when the DVDs are 8,000 ish yen and the DVD holds TWO EPISODES
-Series that only get merch that's a collab with a Brand Name and cost what you'd expect from brands
-Being part of a fan club that DOESN'T INFORM YOU WHEN THEIR LIMITED ITEMS GO ON SALE so they're all gone by the time you get to the page and, even tho it's a preorder, they somehow can't make more.
-The only way to get a figure for not 500 x the cost after preorders are close if you missed preorders (not even after it's RELEASED, just when the ORDERS are shut) is to get EXTREMELY lucky at a used store or recycle shop, and even then it will be marked up.
#the physical copies of things do gut me#at least book off is there for my book needs#and getting older manga is generally easier b/c of how many of THOSE they print#but you gotta get sooooo good at recycle shop and used shop hunting if you want something even half a year out of date lol#I'm still gutted about the altelier art book#it was 200 dollars when it was sold and I couldn't justify that for an art book#that's pricey even for here#and THAT was the reprint#it's now nearly $2000 for reproductions which aren't even legal so like#YIKES#And being an overseas fan? forget about it#they barely recognize anyone outside of Tokyo#tho I am EXTREMELY jealous of US cons who get my fav manga artists there#they don't do that here at ALL

It's been more than 20 years and for some reason I feel that Gosho hasn't given Kaiao any development, how can more than 20 years pass and Aoko dynamics, relationship and feelings remain the same? At this point I feel like Gosho is just going to make them date because "they already liked each other" they remain in the same status quo
Hey, if we go by DC romance progress, they've been going too fast. We've already had suspicion of identity chapters, and that didn't happen until more than 400 chapters in DC. /j
Since heists have taken over any character development recently, I don't even know if Kaito and Aoko will even get any romantic progress. Maybe the actual identity confrontation will happen down the line, since that's thief drama, but atm, it really wouldn't surprise me if they only ask each other on a real date at the very end of the manga.
Like. I'm sure Gosho would love to make MK a love drama as well, but he writes MK so rarely, and usually as hype for something Kid related in other media. So the MK stories tend to be heavy on drama that can only take place at Kid heists. (To the point that the new chapters just. Use Kid as the plot device to show off a new character. Even Hakuba's never gotten so much 'look at this character being a detective' treatment in MK.)
-sighs- I just feel bad for MK as a series at this point. I like the characters, I like the general story idea, but. It's been going down a very steep hill with Gosho wanting things exciting, but not wanting any real progress in. Anything. But unlike old MK, the new stories aren't even nice standalone setpieces of story, they're... mundane. They could be high stakes, if you purely look at the scenarios on paper, but. We all know nothing's gonna happen to Kid. Nothing even happens to him when the actual bad guys show up, much less one-time antagonists.
We need actual character focus and development, not heist drama. Badly. Not even romance, though that'd be a nice change. Just any character expansion of our limited cast of characters. Gosho wants big, all the time, meaningless big stuff, when small would be so nice.
#And also he probably won't care to expand on KaiAo when he knows it's already canon#Like; not in the same way that ShinRan is canon endgame and he just needed to write it out#But in a 'I said these two were dating in another manga; they will exist even if I haven't written it'#And his story atm does feel like it could be left off with an ambiguous note on if they're together or not#And then just leave them dating in Yaiba for people who care about confirmation#MK is not in a stable enough state; I really don't know what he's planning with anything#And it's been so. -gestures to all the 'meaningless big stuff'- lately#I don't know if it'll ever get any shift in focus in the future#We barely get anything; all we have now is a new character people are divided about#And the tiniest continuity of Aoko thinking to herself that Kid is teasing her by reminding her of Kaito#Like; part of the problem is continuity as well; at least if Gosho wants to stick with DC-ish MK#MK has all the potential for callbacks or returning characters that could be interesting#But none of the potential that fans enjoy is ever /used/#We got all our KaiAo up front. We have suspicion arcs where it's barely mentioned that Kaito's proven his innocence in the past#They could go back to the amusement park and Aoko could mention the movie and Kaito can be sweating#Because he never saw the movie; that's then he peaced out to go heisting#There's so much. Gosho's good at adding potential to his story#But everything he comes up with to make canon ends up disappointing because he never fully uses any of it#He just adds more and more elements that go nowhere#MK is a mess that gets more and more fun to play around in; but the actual chapters are. Bad#Which might be for a reason similar to DC of we wait so long and get something extremely meh#Except instead of the months between DC cases; it's years for MK; and DC fans complain the entire time#So when MK fans are fed crumbs of... anything. It's just not as enjoyable as new content should be#(I got rambly in tags; sorry ;._. )

Okay so, I have collected the evidence, and the part where Shunsui takes the sword from sister in law falls somewhere in between whatever his look was in the academy episode this season when he first spars Ukitake (is blue the lowest rank/first year or? I forgot, but the color scheme of the uniform has to do with the year one's in) to the moment he hears about the execution of sister in law, where both him and Ukitake are wearing black, as graduated from the academy but indistinct foot soldiers (neither is wearing the white of the captain color).
You'll have to contend with manga panels only because the anime hasn't gotten to that point yet, but in the panel he takes the sword from sister in law, he doesn't appear to wear any academy clothes, bc whatever he's wearing is missing those small patterns of crosses over their nips.
Did Kubo forget to draw the uniform correctly or is this man wearing normal/civilian clothes as he got called "home" by a relative? You can see he already has a ponytail by then (2nd panel in this post) if you squint. So does that mean Shunsui of back then was closer in appearance to Shunsui of panel 3/execution or Shunsui of panel 1? Because if he had the look shown in Ukitake's flashback I can't defend him as to why his sister in law would not register him as a man. You show up to her house with that face? You want her to sit on that?
But Shunsui's of the third panel, with black uniform on is low-key pretty boy handsome, so maybe there i could make a case. (Not that sister in law cares because at that point she had made peace with how she wanted to die and take with her own clan, whatever happened to Nanao happens. You can see she looks down to the earth all through that flashback, possibly bc looking into the eyes of people may tempt her to not stage her own execution, so I doubt she paid much attention to how those around her, including Shunsui (who is very tall) looked, even though she hadn't seen him in quite some time. I wonder if to her death, if she ever thought much about him (yes, this man fell for a woman that didn't even know he loved her), she had the image of the little boy teen Shunsui from back at his brother's, her husband's, house.
I don't know, on one hand the lazy low hanging ponytail (limp dick behavior) is a sign this man was slowly already giving up on his appearance, in that his hairstyle hasn't changed much across centuries, all he collects is more facial hair, and a substantial amount of body hair. Does he even cut that hair, let alone style it? He's too lazy to do anything with it so he'll tie it up into a ponytail. And over the years the shorter strands of hair that framed his younger face got longer, which is why the current Shunsui has one long curl at the front but mostly the hairs ties back completely. Which makes me think, the only reason his hair was short at the start of the academy, is cuz his family had him do it but he slowly gave up on grooming or maintaining himself because that is who he is. And especially gave up altogether once the sister in law died, because what woman is left to impress now? On the other hand, he looked worse with short hair, and given how this man was still a twink up to the point of black uniform, it must be that the trauma his sister in law gave him/caused him activated his manwhore genes and that's how Shunsui grew thick. (& with the hairiness and all, almost like a little child who wants to overgrow his body because he wants to be an adult too fast) If we could get this guy's his current look with the working dick of his youth days, maybe it could work.
Also that little facial hair he got going on in panels 1-3 isn't doing much for you Shunsui, just shave it off; grow a beard or don't, you look uncommitted (which again fits his character in that his man can't take burdens or decide). But this transitory stage he was in wasn't it; he should have just cleaned shaved and called it a pretty boy, and maybe his sister in law would have been impressed when he showed up. But this man showed up a mess, even if he showed up looking like 3.
Hey maybe she'll meet you in the Hell Arc, one eye and a couple of holes in your body later. A woman can dream & write... fanfiction.
#anime manga rambles#bleach#ShunSiL#also why you already eating red beans with sake you future alcoholic in training your sister in law is not dead yet#and nanao is barely born for you to disappoint her / your niece#that episode really read like fanfic bc it tried to hit every box in the Shunsui (or ukitake) sheet:#red bean something which likes he shares with nanao#alcohol#women women women shut up you virgin cherry man#& idk anything you can think of & tried to tie together some other characters that were also alive or around at the time

I am liking Jujutsu Kaisen, way more than I imagined I would, but I foresee it will let me down and it's keeping me from enjoying this as much as I could haha
I think the characters and dynamics are well set, and I think many of them have an incredibly good and deep potential, but I would be willing to bet they'll not get a proper development, enough for them to really hit. A well assembled set of gears is not enough to make the movement go, you have to wind the clockwork.
I think Gojo and Megumi have a fascinating and very complex dynamic, but I doubt it will be given the time and care that imo it needs to actually work. And it is going well enough for now! One could see the intimacy between them was deeper than the one Gojo had with, say, Yuji and Nobara ever since the very first few episodes despite the fact Fushiguro too was a first year. But the pieces forming what they have are extremely complex, and it just wouldn't be realistic if it doesn't show, even if in a not showing way, or if it doesn't have consequences or implications.
It's one of those dynamics that shape one's life, the way one regards the world, the way one establishes or not relationships with other people. It's one of those dynamics that could be full of fondness, gratitude, resentment, admiration, trust, and that imply intimacy, the good kind or the bad, even if in just the knowledge of someone who's been a constant through your life. It could, and would, imply a myriad of feelings, and probably in such a mix it could imply contradictory feelings too. Even the nothingness would weight, even the nothingness would be significant and meaningful.
Gojo took Megumi and his sister under his wing, the son of a man who murdered him, because of both selfish and selfless reasons. Megumi looks like Toji. What does Gojo feel about this? How does Gojo deal with this? How does Gojo go about taking care of Megumi? Would he walk him to school? Make him breakfast? Celebrate his birthdays making him blow candles? Did he take him to the zoo? Does the relationship between them feel professional or is it something more? Gojo appreciates his students, but is Megumi to him just another student? When Gojo faces Sukuna in Megumi's body, did he see the kid he raised, or does he just see Sukuna in one of his students' body? Did he have one faint wavering instant? And how does Megumi feel about this? Is he resentful of him? Resentful of the situation? Of the selfishness behind his actions? Does he feel like a pawn? Is he grateful? Does he resent feeling grateful? Would he rather not? Does he love Gojo? Does he feel nothing about him other than what he could feel about a teacher that sort of annoys him but knows he's reliable in his strength? Does he think it unfair, cruel or unfeeling that Gojo is close, closer perhaps, with Yuuji or Yuta, considering their story? When Sukuna slices Gojo in two, does the remnants of Megumi's soul tremble?
And not just Megumi and Gojo. Yuuji and Nanami, Gojo and Nanami, Yuuji and Fushiguro, Nobara and the boys, or Nobara and Maki, Todo and Yuuji or Yuta, Gojo and Yuta, Megumi and his sister. Gojo and Geto, even! If the pieces are well set, the dynamics are intriguing, interesting, and have potential to be deep, but then the characters have like two plot relevant scenes that punch you hard, but little more, it's not nearly enough. Especially not nearly enough for the enormity that is shonen dynamics and situations. And the potential existing at all, and then not delivering, makes it all the more frustrating when you're left with something mediocre that could have been so good.
The development of dynamics through not only a few plot relevant gut wrenching moving scenes, but also the smallness of life, is important. The friend who recommended this to me said that those things were just unnecessary filler, but I disagree. I think there's a big difference between a large amount of anime-only filler episodes whose existence is based on the fact they had run out of manga chapters to animate, and moments of quietness. The low stakes character-driven moments of quietness can be so telling and so insightful, and they are so satisfactory when brought back later in higher stakes situations. My friend teased me there was no scene of Gojo making breakfast to Megumi, that it would be an idiotic idea, but it would be so telling. How he makes breakfast, what they eat, if he tries hard or if it's all mechanised, if they have personal bowls or if they use whatever, if he just buys them some pastry on the way to school, if the way they have breakfast changes through the years, or if he doesn't make them breakfast at all! All that would be very insightful on their dynamic and its evolution. All that would give a glimpse on how they regard each other and why, even in the present. All that could become meaningful in tense situations and high stakes scenes.
These moments also let the plot breath; if a lot is happening all the time, if every character is always experiencing trauma after trauma, the entire story is so emotionally draining that at some point you don't even care all that much. Besides, these nothing moments or low stakes plot arcs, besides deepening and developing dynamics, also let some in-world time pass, which would make the intimacy and bond between characters more believable imo; between Yuuji eating Sukuna's finger and their last confrontation in December how much time has passed? A few months? Am I truly to believe these characters are so everything to each other in only a few months?
Without some smallness, some repetition, some daily life, some low stakes not plot-centric development, the dynamics don't hit, they don't truly feel fleshed out, and dynamics as complex as the ones Megumi and Gojo have, or as supposedly meaningful as the one Megumi has with Yuuji or his sister, should be fleshed out if they're going to exist at all. Otherwise they'd risk making the writing feel awkward and fake. Besides, if the dynamics felt well fleshed out and realistic, they would shape the way the characters interact and act, and how they deal with situations, thus being plot relevant.
The shonen genre has so much happening all the time, the stakes are so high, the dynamics are so rooted in big events and the relationships carry enormous weight and implications. Yet they barely get developed, and it feels so stupid, so plain, the absence of something so important noticeable like a constant void, a shapeless nothingness present in every scene. It makes the characters feel like cardboard figures. Jujutsu Kaisen is already getting a better job than many, but I doubt it will do enough for what I've heard, and I fear I am bound to feel let down, and bound to feel unmoved.
After all, if not enough time and care has been given to develop a dynamic, I am not going to feel pressured by the high stakes; if not enough time and care has been given to develop the dynamic between Megumi and Yuuji, as good potential as it has I am bound to feel little for this last confrontation between Sukuna and Itadori, and his effort in getting Megumi back.
#It's not that I think everything has to be character driven or take a lot of care about dynamics#Death Note for instance works well without it. There's juice in the dynamic between Light and his father and the role of Matsuda there#and it works well with Light's views and their evolution and the whole Kira situation. It isn't much. It doesn't need more#But Death Note doesn't truly drop something as big as Gojo and Megumi to then do barely nothing about it#('But L and Watari' not the same at all. That was deepened in the anime and besides Watari is not one of the main characters)#Or Megumi and his sister. If we see barely nothing of Megumi and his sister other than shiny flashbacks of her#how am I to feel moved by it all beyond superficial emotions? I don't know. It just feels so like cardboard to me#And it annoys me! It annoys me a lot! Because Jujutsu Kaisen has amazing potential! The dynamics and characters could be amazing!#But I don't trust they'll live to their full potential and the potential existing for nothing is ruining this for me xD#Jujutsu Kaisen#Sorry this time I'm tagging it. I want to find this and see if I was right when I'm finished. I think I'll read the manga too#The condescending filler breakfast comment by my friend was ironic considering the Kramer vs. Kramer breakfast scenes exist#Breakfast can be so telling. And besides he loves the Chainsaw Man coffee scene so I don't get why not breakfast#But truly some small daily life moments can tell us a lot about a character that we could recognise later on in high stakes scenes#such as how they deal in tense situations‚ what makes them snap#how they go about dealing with a problem.#Sometimes it could be smaller moments or conversations what makes characters reconsider things‚ not just having Sukuna rip their heart out#In Pandora Hearts the conversation between Elliot and Oz about the book series they love and their favourite characters becomes key#Oz's development and how he regards things‚ his own person‚ and how he deals with situations will be shaped later on by this conversation#till the very end. The entire main character's development is shaped by a 'filler' conversation. It's not filler. It's just not a fight scen#Shonen manga readers find everything filler except for fights which is ironic considering that many fights in shonen feel unnecessary#Breakfast is unnecessary. Just filler. Fighting thirty seven secondary monsters or chapter after chapter of physical training is not. Okay#Things can be small but plot relevant. If it shapes and fleshes out and deepens a character or a relationship it is not filler#And mainly MAINLY for the love of everything good if you're going to make a fucked up or Meaningful Beyond Everything dynamic#give it time and care. Actually write it. Don't give me two panels and one conversation after some life and death situation. It's not enoug#Especially if I'm to believe they are important. Make me believe they actually are#I don't know... This issue with not trusting the development of very well set potential in Jujutsu Kaisen#has not only been keeping me from thoroughly enjoying the series‚ but actively keeping me from watching for weeks#It makes me doubt if I want to spend my time in this at all since after all time is limited and we can but spend it in a handful of things#A pity. I really love some things and I really think Megumi and Gojo could be everything to me haha the Heathcliff/Hareton vibe gets me

I will always laugh about how SVN Ryoma is based off of Go manga Ryoma in terms of design cause the personality whiplash will never not crack me up.
SVN Ryoma is one of few Ryomas who actually got away from the Getter for good and gets to live his life, you can tell just by the little we see of him that while he still got his fighting spirit he’s so happy and mellow and is definitely a Ryoma you can chill with-
But Go Manga Ryoma is dead inside and will beat the shit out of you if you do something to fuck with his students or simply mention his past yet he’s the one Ryoma to actually sleep with someone
#meg text#getter robo#ryoma nagare#All Ryomas have a consistent trait of anger but my god comparing them is so funny#SVN to ANY Ryoma is funny as fuck but specifically the one who’s loosely based on? Hilarious#they easily could’ve snuck in him being this asshole and resentful of the getter but instead he’s chill#doesn’t hold a vendetta towards it even if he’s never gonna pilot it again#mostly for the fact he barely saw the horrors and just left cause of his bro dying which every other timeline that was never a choice#I wonder if more Ryomas WOULD change like this if they left as soon as their friends died and not seeing the horrors#granted- manga witness everyone but hayato died so… that was another factor of him being dead inside#it depends on the context ig

I love making OCs, and this rewrite will inevitably have a lot of them, or at least a good handful of them. I'll write out a list and make little blurbs for each of them—the skeleton of the characters, if you will! Aleron/Morgan le Fay: The main protagonist of the rewrite that's a celestial-faerie hybrid. She's the former princess of the Kingdom of Tintagel that becomes a traveling mage that lives for thousands of years. She's the oldest companion of Meliodas and the main alchemist/doctor of the group. Also the stocker of the Boar's Hat. Prior to that, she's usually the royal court mage of kingdoms. Rhiannon/Igraine Pendragon: The mother of Aleron, the wife of Gorlois and the older sister of Avalon. Once was considered the best of the Goddess mages, but she died during the war. She gets reincarnated as Igraine le Fay many, many centuries later and marries Uther Pendragon to have their son, Arthur Pendragon. The memories of her past are restored early in her life, and she was the one who hired Aleron as her own personal royal court mage—a counter to Merlin and simply to have her daughter from another life closer to her. Gorlois: The father of Aleron and the husband of Rhiannon. He was once remarked as a great king, and a remarkable battle tactician. He was friends with Gloxinia until the faerie king deflected to the demons. Gorlois survived the war and died when he reached old age. Avalon: The younger sister of the dearly departed Rhiannon. A Goddess warrior that lives and breathes the path of the blade. She sealed her soul in the body of birds, living on for thousands of years. She harbors a deep hatred for demons. Eventually, she wound up in a pet shop in the Kingdom of Rheged and purchased by King Urien due to her beautiful feathers. Bavmorda: One of the best mages around. She was one of the many teachers Aleron has had. Not much is known about her, but she has a deep seated fear of her former student and vowed to kill her. Kilia: The younger sister of Ban, and a beast-man. She was thought to be dead when Ban couldn't find her, but she miraculously survived thanks to unlocking her ability to shapeshift into a human. Kilia lives on to prosper and eventually leaves Ravens behind to pursue a career in helping others, like how her big brother always did for her. She'll either become a nurse or a schoolmaster for young children. Shivani: A vampire that acts on her own. Not trusting Izraf, she deflected to build her own kingdom of vampires. She tries to marry a human king the same time Aleron became the royal court mage in the same kingdom. Eventually, they go from enemies to frenemies (She was once fused with Kilia as a character, but I decided last minute it's better if they were two separate ones). Urien Rheged: The human king of Rheged and the younger brother of King Lot of Lothian. He hired Aleron as a royal court mage, and finds himself going through the seven stages of grief when he's charmed by the stoic mage who could care less about the human. It's a one-sided hate-love relationship. He disliked Arthur Pendragon when he first ascended to the throne, but eventually became one of his closest allies and friends, often involving himself in any wars or affairs with Camelot. Dinah: A mischievous beast-man crow that Aleron saved from hunters a decade before the main story. She becomes loyal to the hybrid and refers to her often as master, even though Aleron told her many times not to call her that. Usually she stays a small crow and perches on Aleron's shoulder or staff, opting to stick with the mage at all times. She becomes the unofficial familiar of the mage.
Part II
#I am 100% making a part two of this list and I might include minor characters#but tbh all of the characters are important to the main story and aleron's own no matter how little their roles are#most of the arthurian legend characters were barely touched upon or yet to be shown like guinevere who didn't appear until 4KOA#which was a bad move imo how are you not gonna EXPAND smh#avalon being a physical character makes me giggle but that's what I had in mind as a middle schooler#I am committing to the bit FULLY#nanatsu no taizai#nnt#nnt rewrite#seven deadly sins#7ds#nnt manga#nnt ocs#drawing everyone is going to be a big pain in the ass in a painfully fun way#nnt oc

every other day i think about the no.6 anime being more popular than the light novel and i want to cry
#BC THE ANIME DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE#SURE IT HAS SHION AND NEZUMI DANCING OR WTV BUT????#WHAT ABOUT THE ACTUAL PLOT#NOTHING I TELL YOU IT MAKES NO SENSE#IM P SURE THEY BARELY EVEN MENTION. YK. THE MAO MASSACRE THING#AND EVEN IF YOURE JUST LOOKING FOR SHION AND NEZUMI WHAT ABOUT THE KNIFE SCENE OR NEZUMI MEETING SHIONS MOM#NOTHING I TELL YOUU#like youre actually told whats happening and it actually feels like a dystopian sci fi with a romantic subplot#keyword: SUBplot#whereas the anime feels like a bl with a sci fi subplot#which would be great and all IF THE STORY WERE ORIGINALLY LIKE THAT#hhhhhhhh#like at least read the manga#like ok the art style definitely doesn't fit the tone whatsoever BUT ITS BETTER THAN THE ANIME IN TERMS OF LIKE#GIVING CONTEXT AND STORYTELLING#anyways rant over#no.6#no.6 novel

And here we go sukuna vs gojo 2.0 how exciting
#this is sarcasm if it wasn't clear#i hope the fight will at least be short because i really don't care about yuuta#and the problem is not even yuuta himself is just that his character was handled badly in the entire arc#we know nothing about him we barely know how his powers work we don't even know why he cares so much about gojo#if someone hadn't read 0 (which is not a given since is not part of the main series) they will be so confused by#how the manga is treating him like one of the main character#iris reads jjk#jujutsu kaisen#jjk manga spoilers
