Buttercups and Golden Flowers
#i drew this mostly because i noticed that a lot of people mistake buttercups and golden flowers as being the same thing.#so i wanted to try drawing them like. distinctly different in the same image.#it's not a big thing but i do think the fact that they're different has some significance. or at least like. symbolic meaning.#my art#undertale#chara#chara dreemurr#safeutdr#something about the fact that they both look similar at least in color but one of them is poisonous.#the way golden flowers are clearly a positive symbol throughout the game and clearly heavily associated with Chara.#contrasted with the very negative connotations buttercups have. with asgore getting sick and chara using them in their plan.#you never see buttercups in the game. which makes it even easier to mistake the two. because we've only seen one kind of#golden/yellow flower. who's to say 'golden flowers' aren't just referring to buttercups? well.#why would there be golden flower tea if they were poisonous? why would chara want to see the golden flowers from their village if they're#the same kind of flower? they clearly have buttercups in the underground.#it feels almost intentional the way golden flowers are so easily mistaken for buttercups. or at least that the difference is so subtle.#it goes well with the way they're associated so strongly with chara who's also a very subtle yet important part of the narrative.#from a surface-level perspective the flowers that took their life and the one's they actually like/are important to them are the same thing#but when you pay closer attention to the narrative you can see the different symbolic meanings.#well. uhh I've thought about it too much don't mind me.#see i think about it from the perspective of chara being super adamant about them being two different flowers#and frustrated when anybody gets it wrong. because clearly. Obviously you can pick out a BUNCH of the dragons as that Is an ongoing trope (dragons aging differently than humans, so they can look younger than they "actually are") (also while I did try to avoid including them to make them more comparable to Nino, I think Flayn can fit in either category for the purposes of The Context -- esp cause her dragon blood is meant to be secret)
Not only do we have Heroes skewing younger (a lot fitting into another trope of What If There Was A Baby Sister) we also have Baby Banner. Where the whole point is they are baby.
LIKE....... maybe I'm speaking way too soon and maybe the whole point IS this will backfire LMFAO, but it IS absurd to be presented with her art (which, def still looks youthful!) and having her say yeah I can pass as a kidnapped child. Which COULD be true! But also what do you mean no one is going to know you're a part of the Heroes. Why is no one fighting her on this. Not even including the dragons there are like a handful of Heroes who fit into her exact vibe. Some even MORE baby than her.

That guys last real time being here#cheri took all the stuff as kid. all of it happened to them but buddy boy was still kinda around#and then rowan died and then. She did too#and then Jay had to take over for years and then cheri came back but didn’t know they were cheri until#like they were 17 because they just repressed repressed repressed#and obviously those are very shallow views of those characters#but to a hurting kid who resonated so much with them they were everything#I have no clue why I’m so introspective tonight#but my friends do call me the emotion guy so#I guess it means something. but yeah something died in us when rowan died#but something was also born. rowan was a person. a little girl who should’ve grown up and that’ll never change#but I think this year is the year that we learn to let her go#im happy i got the chance to know her when we did#I hope she’s a fucking butterfly or something really cool like an alligator if her next life#also we already knew why we flocked to this media because duh. but like it helps to know which part of us needs more healing#who needs a therapist when you have me ;)

hi, it's me. the fic writer that uses culturally-specific idioms in a very different cultural time setting and keeps confusing words like reign and rein. this is my story.

In these moments, Foul Legacy takes the time to savor the brief taste of violence before the inevitable collapse.
A touch against its hair interrupts the moment of satisfaction, and its entire body goes inhumanly still as it turns its head. The orb of its mask fixes on the Traveler, somehow radiating utter bafflement, even as its head cants, ever so slightly, into Aether's hand.
❝ There is a line between bravery and stupidity, ❞ it says, but Foul Legacy makes no move to lean away, or rise to its full height. ❝ Sometimes I wonder if you know where it is. ❞
It feels. . . nice, and nice is not something Foul Legacy gets to experience. The brush of Aether's hand lulls its muscles into further relaxation, and the throaty rumble starts in the back of its throat. It leans further into that touch as the sound rolls into a deep purr.

The way that my friend felt disappointed when he found out as a kid that an androgynous character he idolized was a woman because he quote "couldn't relate to the character anymore" and the way that the creator of Celeste """discovered he was non-binary""" because he wrote a female character that he was able to relate to are branches off of the same vein of misogyny I think
#gender critical#misogyny#it's all about the often-subconscious belief that women are subhuman or at least inherently lesser than men for being different from them#for the first dude: literally every woman on earth who consumes media relates to so fucking many male characters. they are our favorites.#some of them are so beloved by us that we believe we must actually be men because we can relate so hard to them. i went through this myself#(which is kind of what's going on with the second dude but i'll get to that)#yet for some reason a lot of men have a hard time relating to female characters in any way similar at all. there are zero men writing#obsessive (affectionate) thoughtful intelligent analyses of their favorite female charas' arcs and symbolism#(in part because so few media have any well-written and actually-humanized female charas to be able to do that with but also...)#because men see women as possibly-human fuck toys for them and nothing else#so when even self-proclaimed/usually feminist men relate to a female character outside of 'i want to fuck this' it makes them feel weird#bc male sexuality (this includes osa men i'm sorry to say but i've observed so many men like an anthropologist i see the same behavior#in all of them) is so centered around humilation/domination/aggression that it's not compatible with compassion/empathy#so for them to relate to a female (character or person) they get this weird-feeling psychological thing kinda similar to that joke of#'if you punch yourself and it hurts are you weak or strong?' but in this case it's 'if you relate to a sex object should you start thinking#you're also a sex object or should you let go of your momentary empathy for the sex object?'#and dude no. 1 took the latter path while dude no. 2 took the former#well in a way. his thing is more like 'if i am a human (bc i'm a man) and i can relate to a woman... does that mean women are human#or does it mean i am a woman?' and he picked the second route#i know agp vs hsts is (was?) the main grouping system radfems use(d?) to explain the different types of tims#and to some extent those labels do work especially since they're centered around sexuality which plays a huge role in trans identities#but i feel like it's either more accurate to just use the following labels or at least add them into the venn diagram:#some tims are trans because they see women as sex toys and enjoy the thought of being a sex toy themselves therefore they want to be women#while other tims are trans because they've othered the sex-object class of humans so hard that if they ever accidentally relate to a woman#it's a mindblowing discovery and makes them part of The Other (women are still of course treated as The Other for this to work) and#therefore super special (and of course more special than women because they're sex objects + The Other whereas#he is a man aka a human + The Other. this is especially true when men decide they're nb like guy no. 2 as opposed to trans women because#again women = sex toy to men so any men who do not want to be objectified are a different kind of Other to women [which to them consists of#females and trans women] but they still are The Other in some way and therefore must be both a man [human] and something else)#these concepts appeal to both osa and ssa men depending on what level/flavor of misogyny they cling to most and how gnc they are

i honestly dont like what totk has done to me in the sense that i cant go back to playing mostly botw bc ill miss on the gameplay that i absolutely loved in totk but i want to for the story . but i cant play totk anymore either bc i really just didnt like the story BUT the gameplay-

#🌙.rambles#i love them a lot c:#i'm too shy to share bcs i project a lot but i also really do wna share sometime ><#KEEP IN MIND THOUGH.... the things i write r. me but like. the me i've been for years n years now ok :<#i'm particularly too shy to share abt like lune & artem but oh my god their dynamic is#influences from so many aspects of my youth 🥺 noctis ffxv in general & kh & claude von riegan &#hmmm yeah gbf & mythology n percy jackson too now that i think of it#sometimes when i have time i sit n think of how my charas wld look#they mostly have white hair....#if not white then black! if not either then grey! if not that too then#shades of blue then shades of purple#oh dear listening to ff music rn n the series has influenced me very very much#suteki da ne.... kiss me good-bye & melodies of life & opera maria and draco & eyes on me :<#even ffxiv wait like dragonsong & shadowbringers & tomorrow and tomorrow#yk that short story i wrote back in gr 9 for school was. inspired by my original idea for my short story#i still like thinking about it from time to time bcs that really was one of the base foundations i had#oh dear i remember searching for so many names T_T n words. i had so much latin words in my notes n#names meaning moon or uh angel n mythology related stuff ><#n i find it interesting how. in turn. that short story which serves as a foundation for right now yeah#it was influenced by noctis earlier in the year 🥹#oh dear we really can change so much in a year i forget that sometimes#but noctis!!!! god i really liked friends to lovers but like. there's always been this lil tension that duh it's smth more#but they both deny it 💀 why do i like charas that r like that. noctis is one obvious example since he was ^ after all but also claude imo#star-crossed. i always loved themes w night. secrecy. the sky. sometimes i look back at the old things i wrote n smile n laugh#cringe 😭 but i find it rather endearing looking back at my younger self who really just. dreamed with no end. i admire her#she'd be sad if she'll see how i'm subconsciously restraining myself in the present. so maybe just for her i'll#open my heart up again just to write. write like i used to n finish the stories i wrote then that i cldn't finish when i was sad 🥹#the things i'll do for the sake of my younger self n my future self uwahhhh#i don't want to let down my youth. i'll hold unto it forever. that won't ever change. & i'll do it for less regrets in the future.#i've always ever known n wanted the best for myself in a way but i can't be direct with it in the present but oh well in time <3

apparently I'm way better at playing star rail than I've ever been at genshin......should have guessed but I'm still in shock ngl
#i say should have guessed cause the turn based games are just more my stylr#style*#my best friend sent me that one page where i can see all my progress bc he wanted me to check a thing#and i realized i could see my genshin stats there too so i checked#i haven't played genshin in way over a year so my memories of what i was doing are foggy at best but#apparently i played it well over twice the total time i played star rail and my general lvl is half of my hsr one?#how#my character levels and builds are all over the place too....#and my luck in it was abysmal as well compared to my hsr luck I'm shock#im like Absolutely sure rolled way more in genshin than i ever did in hsr since I've been stacking tickets in hsr since i started#playing again#which means I've only ever rolled on the gen gatcha every time the game gave me ten tickets itself#but i have a ton of characters more in hsr?? a lot of double and triple copies? three 5* charas aside from the mc already??#i got march like five times#i never rolled one 5* in genshin how is this possible#I'm sure the rates are the same....#it can't be bc when i played genshin there were more characters than there are in hsr already#like even if that were the case it should just mean i have more characters and less copies right?#instead i have no characters and no copies what kind of joke is this what did i even use to roll#no I'm shocked cause playing hsr i always have a feelings im way further back than i was in genshin back when i played but#turns out I'm thrice as far ahead in half the time licherally how
