#alek art#zane julien#previous master of ice#ninjago#lego ninjago#2024#aka the scene i wish we got in snake jaguar ...#zane is like 30 here#im mostly thinking about dr juliens perspective on this night. we have very little to go off of but he was very weirded out#random very sick old man shows up at your door and takes an “interest” in your son. he isnt even over for an entire day. with him comes col#he was striken with winter and something about him felt off. he leaves without a word. after his arrival your son begins acting weird.#then another old man arrives. asking for your son. wonder what happened there#for anything about passing on powers or losing them its always some big event... hm#i think the previous master really did need shetler. we know he was old and died shortly after the power giving. i dont know what about#zane caught his eye. i do think its very interesting that this man of few words was so obviously fascinated that dr julien noticed.#dr julien isnt the most socially aware and in the little bit he said about the previous master... he sounded concerned#imagine weirding out the weirdest man alive#i think zane caught on too. he felt eyes on him the entire night. they ate dinner with the man.. gave him shelter... but he felt he wanted#more. sometime that day he gave zane the power of ice. which effectively changed the course of his entire life. zane and dr julien hadnt a#clue what happened. 'yesterday a man arrived' so not even within a day did he see zane and decide that he was the one#thinking about how zane acting like his self now is 'strange' and was out of the ordinary. what was he like before? how do you even pass a#power down. we see people get their powers stolen and its always a spectacle and its so exhausting and so on. how did dr julien not see#anything. there was no questions? he just noticed the previous master found his son interesting and then he left ?#goddddd im insane i wanna write a fic about zane pre series

I never believed that for a second#because that's way too much work to expect from what is effectively one guy in such a short timeframe#I really wish he would stop giving release dates. even tentative ones tbh#i know that's what a lot of people want to hear but it just isn't helpful or productive and he always gives dates like a month or two into-#-the future which isnt realistic#he doesn't need to be like a walten files workmule i just want him to work on them when he wants to and to enjoy making them and to release#-them when they are finished

14. What were your go-to writing songs?
Lots of Deco*27, Kenshi Yonezu, Eve, and other various jpop artists – upbeat songs with lyrics that don’t tempt me to sing along are my go-to! When I did need something a bit calmer, I liked finding extended UTDR tracks to vibe to. Castle town and Fucking. Rouxls Kaard shop really hit the spot a lot 😂
17. Share your favorite opening line
I feel like I have opening paragraphs/sections that I really like, but there are fewer individual opening lines that felt the same. Three of my favorites:
Mikoto was no criminal. (< guy who murdered people.)
You are always, always talking about yourself.
Mikoto could pick up on someone’s bad mood from a mile away, though the skill was unnecessary when the other party very clearly and calmly informed him, “I’m in a bad mood.”
23. If you had to choose one, what was THE most satisfying writing moment of your year?
There were a few moments of feedback/collaboration that come to mind, but it feels braggy to talk about that lol so I’ll stick with an actual writing process thing. Although it’ll probably still take another fucking year of progress, but I started a choose-your-own adventure fic and it’s felt like a huge accomplishment to explore and succeed in a new writing medium out of my usual comfort zone!
#i know you know who mikoto is at this point asdfsd but the clarification was still funny to me#it was so wild looking through how many one shots id written this year :0#and yeah i have a whole playlist of ~100 songs i loop on like a daily basis asdfsdf#i can share if anyones curious but thats the gist of it lol#the 'you are always talking about yourself' fic actually isnt written in second person pov which is part of the reason i like the line#and im always adding in cheesy bookends to fics but that one has been one of the most satisfying i think#adding my braggyness down here lol but it was always such a special feeling when collaborating with friends#seeing art/writing inspired from mine#i just about died when my favorite cover singer sang my translyrics for my birthday#getting into the zine and seeing my printed fic was a huge experience#and ive received a few heartfelt comments about the effect my writing had on someone that reminded me why i love the craft so much#thanks for the questions :D#ask

seeing the idea that haz/bin and hell/uva should've taken place in an alternate universe instead of being connected canon and honestly i'm not sure i disagree now. i do wonder how much stuff they've locked themselves entirely out of using in both shows because of legal issues. its already kind of noticeable + not super thrilled with the idea that in order to fully understand the lore there's 2 shows you'd have to consume that aren't allowed to directly refer to each other
#not tagging this one thats why theres slashes this ultimately isnt a big deal honestly just thinking out loud#lucifers absence is already glaringly awkward in mastermind#like literal king of hell btw we are going to avoid saying anything too specific or showing imagery of our interpretation of lucifer#because we arent allowed#and now literally every sin other than lucifer is spent on hell/uva instead of hazbin#which had a direct reference to bephelgor before she even turned up in helluva#and ik its not as big of a deal for a show constrained entirely to the pride ring#but i wonder sometimes if it was worth it#surely evening out the distribution of important figures in demonology between the shows would've been better though#like every sin except pride and prominent ars goetia are stuck in helluva now who are like. a huge deal in hells hierarchy in this show#ofc theres always more demonology to pull from but yknow yknow. its awkward. the sins and the goetia are important#powerful figures but entirely absent from the heaven vs hell conflict which could effect all of them eventually#im sure they can figure out how to crossover one day honestly but is the process for that even worth it atp#like again there are bigger issues im just thining abt this rn for some reason

It would be one thing if it was just a popular headcanon but I’m so tired of fans acting like it’s actually official canon that Ryu is asexual which not only has Capcom has never stated that but there are numerous examples of Ryu fighting off his urdges because he’s trying to save his dick for Buddha

you guys dont understand how much splatoon means to me. you will never understand
#will ALWAYS preach it has some of the best worldbuilding in anything i've ever fucking seen#especially in a video game. and ESPECIALLY a video game which isnt purely story-focused#splatoon's world feels so PAINFULLY fucking real its hard to even describe. the level of detail when it comes to LITERALLY everything#is insane. and thats only amplified when you're someone who's been playing it for a long time and has seen this world change in real time#i will always adore how time passes the same in splatoon's world as it does in real life. however long it's been since the last game came#out - thats how long its been in splatoon's world! characters are constantly changing and doing new things and taking on new roles#AND of course. the final splatfests making it so player input has a direct and pivotal effect on the setting and plot of the next game.#SO fucking cool and insane. like what other piece of media is like that#because of things like that and the worldbuilding and everything i also think that splatoon has one of the most seamless transitions#between singleplayer and multiplayer modes. a lot of times in games esp with stories those modes feel very disconnected#but in splatoon things that you do in singleplayer modes have an actual EFFECT on the world of multiplayer#i will never forget. how cool it felt when octo expansion came out and suddenly octolings started popping up in multiplayer#because in the irl sense. of course they were! people were beating that singleplayer mode and unlocking the ability to play as octolings#in multiplayer. but in-universe THIS IS ACTUALLY WHATS HAPPENING!!!! after your agent 8 escapes more octolings follow in their footsteps#and it is an actual noticeable cultural shift in the world of splatoon with it being talked about on the news and stuff#and this story of octolings coming to the surface and integrating into inkling society works perfectly because its not just something#you're hearing about. you are actually seeing IN REAL TIME octolings start to populate the city and matches because REAL PLAYERS are#playing as them. fitting perfectly into that narrative being created. its soooooo fucking good#anyways sorry i just love splatoon so much and i love talking about why its incredible#serena.txt

it's so stupid and embarrasing mainly because they are only skipping the event because he didn't win and everyone knows it. Like if it was always doubtful they would go I wouldn't think it was that embarrasing, because again I think france football is a farse and I don't really care if anyone treats them as such, but yeah in this case because it is so obvious that the reason they didn't go is pettiness, then they just look dumb and like fans who only give credibility to awards that are cherrypicked to their convenience
