lips. he loves kissing u everywhere ofc but kissing u right on the mouth just takes the cake bc he is sooooo obsessed with ur mouth and how lovely and pretty and beautiful it is. doesn't matter if it's a tiny peck or french kiss or whatever—he just likes kissing you. u always hum softly in happiness when he presses his lips to yours and the sound just fills him with so much warmth and love that he could burst with it because of god, you're so lovely and so amazing and he just loves you so much.

lips and cheek, but like junhui, lips are his all-time favourite because oh god. he is obsessed with how pretty your mouth is. also how pretty your smile is and he genuinely cannot look you in the eye whenever u give him that adorable slight smile because it's so pretty and his eyes instantly dart to ur lips bc he wants to kiss u and taste your smile sooooo so bad. also he loves kissing ur cheek bc it's quick and easy to do, and if he leans in for a second peck to the cheek then he can even feel the warmth that rises to ur face when u blush at the gesture and it's so!!! cute!!!

top of the head, lips. it just feels sooo domestic to give u a quick peck on the lips when he leaves for work or when you come up and check on him when he's working in his studio. he loves it. and kissing the top of your head… it's like a protective gesture, from him. it reassures you that he's there for you, and also affirms for him that you're there, you're safe, you're near him and it's all okay. woozi will never say it in so many words, but those small, domestic acts of affection are the ones he adores the most.

knuckles and temple. he likes holding ur hands, and u love holding his, so the knuckle kisses and the light kisses against your fingers kinda ended up being an unintentional side effect of that. it's a small, intimate act, and makes u blush every time which he definitely sees as a bonus. also there's just something so soft about leaning over to kiss your temple, and every time you make that soft, pleased sound when he does, it warms his heart and has him smiling widely in adoration.

everywhere, really. this man is genuinely the epitome of down-bad, so he will kiss you anywhere he can reach because every inch of you is gorgeous and u need to know that's how he feels. he can't pick a favourite spot because they're all his favourite purely because it's you he's kissing. like i cannot emphasise enough that he has no preference so long as he gets to hold u in his arms and gets to kiss u until you're all pretty and flustered and blushy like the loveliest being on earth

Celeste Sallow: OK THIS IS THE NAME IM SUPER PROUD OF BAHAHA because not only does the name celeste relate to the stars (in typical ravenclaw fashion...clora picked the name) but celeste sallow is also an alliteration. BUT, its an alliteration that begins with a C, which means clora gets to match with celeste in the form of both of their names starting with a C, whereas sebastian gets to match with celeste because both of their names are an alliteration/they're alliteration allies🥹ITS THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!🥳

Lewis Sallow: as for lewis, if you've read my fic then you know that seb has a vendetta against names that start with an L bahaha, but 'lewis' was actually HIS idea. when celeste was born, seb wanted to find a muggle story to read to her, since clora's favourite story is ALSO a muggle one (sherlock), and he wanted to stick with tradition. so he ended up finding alice in wonderland, which he loved because of how adventurous and clever alice was and of how much she reminded him of clora and celeste (both personality and looks wise). it became his favourite for those reasons, to the point that when they had lewis, sebastian overcame his L-name hatred by naming their son after lewis carroll.

Houses: celeste could have been sorted into either gryffindor or slytherin, but ultimately ends up in slytherin because she wants to be like seb. kinda like how clora also probably could have been in gryffindor, tbh. as for lewis.....him being 10000% in ravenclaw doesnt need any explanation BAHA, just look at him.

Appearance: since clora has a tiny bit of veela blood in her, thats obvs passed down to their kids, too, and so they mostly take after her as a result of it. but there's still little bits of seb that shine through in each of the kids: for lewis its his brown curly hair, and for celeste its her complexion/freckles. and the fact that celeste looks so similar to clora only doubles up sebastian's stress/protective instincts when he watches her BAHAH. he's ofc still proud that she takes after him so closely, but seb also cant deny that he wishes it had been their SON that had taken after him instead, to keep her out of danger.

Celeste & Lewis: for celeste and lewis’ relationship, celeste is a super proud big sister, and treats lewis kinda like how seb treats clora. if there's anything that needs to be done, she offers to do it for him. and although she doesn’t have the patience to read stories herself, she loves playing outside and having lewis read to her in the background, and loves to act out/use his stories to fuel her imagination. and lewis makes sure to pick stories that he KNOWS she’ll like (which mostly involve heroic and daring feats of adventurers or pirates. he's tried to read more classic fairytales and romances to her a few times, but celeste always gets bored). she loves to draw though, so sometimes when lewis reads books that have no pictures, she'll draw them herself.

Celeste & Seb/Clora: celeste is a daddy's girl LOL and always tries to impress seb with the stuff she does, especially after hearing how HE was at her age, and so its half to impress and half because shes competitive that she wants to do the same/be just as good. and seb always gets a kick out of hearing her feats in the crossed wands club, or in defense against the dark arts class, and he also goads her on, telling her she'll have to do better than that if she wants to be as good as HE was. and whenever celeste gets detention, clora always stresses and asks why, whereas seb just tries to keep the smirk off his face. as for celeste and clora, clora also reads to celeste, and bakes and cooks with her, which is something celeste actually likes doing. not only because it keeps her busy and she likes to help and get messy in general, but also because she likes the fact that it results in good food afterwards LOL, and constantly asks when things can be taken out of the oven. also, for as tomboy-y as celeste is, she honestly doesn't mind/likes the clothing that clora puts her in and likes when clora dresses her up, bc it makes her look like one of the princesses from the storybooks, and it just amuses her more than anything else. once she enters hogwarts, though, its mostly trousers. but she still DOES like the occasional girly clothing.

Lewis & Seb/Clora: lewis is a momma's boy LOL and unlike celeste, doesnt care about duelling or of proving himself or anything like that, and is only concerned with stories and his future studies. so ofc clora had to show him sherlock, which he naturally loved. it even inspired lewis to want to write his own stories, so that he could challenge his own skill and see if he could, but also because he wants his mom to read them, and likes the idea of writing his own sherlock-esque story with equations and mysteries to be solved that he can offer her. lewis also wants to write a book for celeste as well, bc although he wont admit it, he basically wants to write a story tailor-made for her and her interests. one that he thinks will have everything she’d love in it. and part of it is genuinely because he WANTS to do it for her, but the other part of it is also for his ego, and to see if he CAN write a compelling story, and write something that would actually get THE hyperactive celeste to sit down and read it in its entirety (not to mention of her own volition). as for with seb, lewis looks up to him more than anyone else, due to how well-rounded he is and how hes so good at practical stuff AND studying, and he kinda sees seb as a main character/protagonist from one of his books, and uses sebastian as inspiration for his own stories. if hes stuck on what he thinks the dashing main character should do next, he'll ask his dad what HE would do, which results in seb getting very weird questions that he nonetheless is always happy to answer. also, when lewis is older and finally learns the full story of what happened with clora and seb and ranrok and rookwood, he writes their story in novel form, except he just changes their names/some of the details, and it becomes a best seller LOL. and i didnt know where to put this, but the four of them all read a story before bed every night, with lewis in the middle and seb and clora on either side of him. though celeste stands at the foot of the bed, basically doing a charade/mime show of what theyre reading, and putting on a little play to go along with it BAHHA.

OK thats all i can think of for now ive yapped enough😩 if youve read all of this ur a real one.... ive also considered giving them a 3rd (and last) child, which would be a boy that looks exactly like seb, and seb would just be praying like please.....let this son take after me🧎‍♂️🙏 BAHHA

wow oh my gosh i didn't expect so many people to see that last post, thank you so so much!! and i loved reading everyone's thoughts too, thank you guys so much for taking the time to read my "analysis" (yaps) and taking the time to leave your own responses!!

here's part 2:

alright so after covering the past exenstively, lets go back to the present, where karamatsu hides his true feelings about things to avoid creating or being involved in conflict (and sometimes to avoid doing something that's inconvenient, like helping choromatsu lmao). karamatsu is so funny to me because unlike the others, he's so passive about everything. i have so many examples of this:

he always waits for girls to hit on him, he just poses and waits for the ladies to flock to him lmao. such a diva

he usually isn't the one to ever begin a conversation with the bros as a group, he'll mostly jump in once the conversation is happening

if he does strike up a conversation, it's usually one on one (and it's usually either with choromatsu, osomatsu, and occasionally jyushimatsu, who are the bros he has the least amount of conflict with)

he mostly doesn't start fights, he'll almost always get wrapped into them

ofc, he almost never fights back when it comes to being insulted by any of his brothers

he usually only insults osomatsu (or indirectly choromatsu, but that feels more like teasing than anything)

that being said, he does have his moments of proactiveness. i believe it's really in those moments when you get a sense of who he really is and you get a peek into his true feelings

so these were the ones i knew off the top of my head, but most of these scenes (save for pizza) are him trying to be a good older brother. either that, or trying to take control of the situation for his brother's sake.

but also don't get me wrong, he does have his moments of proactive awfulness. sometimes accidental, sometimes not.

see, in my eyes, his passivity is a form of self preservation. i think on a subconscious level, he doesn't really take an active role in his own life (and his brother's) because the last time he asserted himself and truly tried to take control, he ended up causing his brothers to fight.

but to go even deeper, on an emotional level, he does it to avoid the feelings of rejection and failure he experienced after the fight. it's a way to protect himself from the possibility that he'll end up hurt again (and secondarily, the possibility that he'll make things worse for his brothers again).

this is also why i think he doesn't really listen to people. it's the same principle. karamatsu would rather live in his own bubble of self-aggrandizing delusion than truly face himself and others. he lives in this insulated echo chamber of his own thoughts and feelings, and since karamatsu is a dummy, this makes him ultimately blind to his own shortcomings. this also prevents him from having genuine and vulnerable relationships with his brothers. not only does he refuse to tell them how he really feels, he also refuses to truly listen to them and take their words to heart (as hurtful as they may be). but you know who he does listen to? you know who he does actually tell his true feelings to? you guessed it:

in full transparency, this is me being very lazy. but i wrote about this a while back when discussing the amazing doujin: Karamatsu's Brand New World.

karamatsu is a passionate, exclusive, caring, selfish, self-aggrandizing, delusional, stupid, kind, sensitive, cowardly, selfless, petty, lazy, cringey, blunt, lovable guy

he's ultimately a very flawed character and i can truly understand his popularity both here and in japan. but i think a lot of people interpret him as this perfect, selfless guy. no no, he sucks. they all do. and he's really stupid, he may be the dumbest out of the 6, though not by much. but all of his flaws and strong points make him a such great character. i hope i did him justice.

i'm really really excited for the fourth season, i hope we get more karamatsu exploration this season as well! if we don't, then i'll take every crumb i can get and talk endlessly about it anyways.

SUNDAY WAS INCAPABLE OF WASHING HIS HANDS. it was not the simple, physical act of washing that he was incapable of (he could very much put his hands under water and scrub them with soap) but rather the person's rebirth that came afterwards. a body renewed of dirt and blood after another apathetic sacrifice. to forget how his singular existence managed to extinguish countless burning dreams. sunday was incapable of cleaning his incorrigible sins. that was why sunday was incapable of washing his hands.

for this reason, he believed that he could never put his sin-ridden hands anywhere near you.

although he maintained his unwritten rule of preserving a distance away from you, fantasies of being by your side still clawed at his mind. for all the times he saw you injure yourself, he wished he could've tended to your wounds. or if the slightest brush against your fingers would be okay for him to transgress.

why was it so arduous to quell this desire within him? when the time came to follow his planned script, it was so easy - so natural. to unconsciously slash away the insignificant variables and outliers without a doubt, to devote all of himself to his new utopia, was sunday's raison d'être*. to exist as an artefact of all the lives he ripped away in the name of order. ultimately, he was a filthy, dirty, unclean creature that couldn't even wash his hands.

therefore, you and sunday existed on two parallel planes. you, as radiant as light, and he, who lurked behind as your shadow, watching you from afar. your crescent smile and starry eyes that reminded him of the night sky he dreamed of as a child, now cometh to life in the form of you. how your strength could govern the mountains and how your kindness soothed raging fires. the way your entire presence felt like the shore that he was always meant to return to.

he adored your every little thing. but it was... no, it was irrefutable in sunday's mind: this was forbidden. you had violated the enclosure he steeled around his long abandoned heart and planted your bud in his guarded territory. but before sunday knew it, he was unknowingly growing this bud with every aching glance; every time he stretched his fingers towards you but quickly retracted them; every slight smirk at your ridiculous humour.

which was once an enigma to sunday, you had blossomed the meaning of life into his heart, which had stretched to accommodate your significance. your flowering bud electrified his heartbeats when sunday did something as minute as a look at you. it pulsed this mantra, with as much strength it could muster: to be with you is to be human again.

and with this unholy epiphany, sunday desperately scoured his hands, praying again and again, to wash away one of his greatest sins: falling in love with you.

literally loves mitski and mac demarco. he likes very indie hopeless romantic type music, it's literally hilarious to catch him just vibing in his feels

SECRETLY HAS PINTEREST BAHAHAHAHA but just for finding poetry and looking at bonsai trees. Mikey found out (like he doesn't have pinterest too??) and they all ended up making fun of him for it to the point where Leo debated deleting the app but ended up forgetting about it.

very specific but he has this unique type of love language where he'll ask you something and without any further questions he will go get or accomplish whatever he hinted at. for example, y'all will just be hanging out, and he'll go, "are you hungry?" and if you just as much nod your head hesitantly he will run to the kitchen and make you a 3 course meal. or, he'll just ask you if you're cold, and if you say yes he brings you a heater and a blanket. he doesn't ask things like, "can i get you a water?" he'll just ask if you're thirsty and go from there.

has the most gorgeous handwriting on the planet. this beautiful cursive print that is lowkey unreadable but so aesthetically pleasing. at first you were shocked but as you got to know him it made lots of sense, literally probably his biggest hobby is just remembering some random thing and then spending weeks straight perfecting it until it's natural for him. he loves to challenge himself to be perfect at literally anything, and his hand writing is one of those instances.

HE'S LITERALLY A VIRGO GUYS HE IS THE DEFINITION OF A VIRGO OH MY GOD

speaks fluent japanese OF COURSE but his brothers don't know it as well as he does (they all know a little at least) and he'll curse them out quietly in japanese behind their backs.

Leo wouldn't say he had a favorite brother of course but he definitely prefers Don's presense over the others. they always go to each other first when they have a problem or just want to rant, and they have a bunch of inside jokes.

after Donnie, Leo's the biggest insomniac. he gets nightmares a lot unfortunately, and most times when he wakes up he physically can't go back to sleep. literally Mikey will get up for a glass of water at 5:37 in the morning and Leo is up doing flips.

very random, but Leo is AWFUL at math. he meant to learn at some point but the time passed and he missed the boat. ofc math is Don's second language and Mikey and Raph couldn't care less (but somehow Mikey always guesses the right answers without doing the correct work??) but Leo is lowkey embarrassed that he struggles with it so much. he can do basic math and most things that come up in daily life like practical equations, but anything past times tables and division he is cannot understand. if you come over and need help on your math homework he will try his HARDEST to help you but ultimately he's completely clueless.

always takes bugs outside. if the creepy crawly is creepy enough or makes you screech, he'll whip it with his katana but normally he'll take the time to scoop it up in his hands (literally no fear) and walk it outside calmly.

literally LOVES doing chores. it's like a form of self care for him. folding laundry, sweeping, mopping, washing the dishes, organizing the dojo, he'll literally put on some music and go to town. when he visits you he will literally just start straightening things up and picking things off of the floor. he hates having nothing to do so he'll just ask for something he can clean while y'all chit chat.

incredibly flexible. he can bend every which way, sit comfortably in a split for hours, can bend over IN HALF and grab the back of his legs--he's literally maxed out on flexibility. but splits training is his private time so unless you sneak you won't catch a glance. but when you do, in between of sliding dojo doors, it is... something. like excuse me sir how tf doesn't that hurt your bAWLLS

smells like lavender. dead serious his signature scent is lavender. it's not like he wears cologne or anything, he just lights a lot of lavender incense and candles to the point where if someone even steps foot in his room they walk out aroma-fied.

everyone in the fandom has their personal opinion of who's the best cook and who's the worst cook of the four, and it is finally time for my hot take of the century. i think Leo is by far the best chef, and Raph is the one who can't even make toast right. a lot of people say Mikey is the chef of the family, which i agree with, he enjoys cooking and baking very much, but this doesn't mean the food he makes is good 💀💀💀 he trusts himself over any recipe and so he just throws in whatever he feels like. Leo can't stand being in the kitchen while Mikey is cooking, his ocd can't stand it. this said, you'd think this would mean the guys prefer Leo's cooking over Mikey's but fact is Leo is such a perfectionist he will spend hours working on a meal it's past 11 by the time he's done. and he doesn't take requests, he only makes what he wants and then on top of that the healthnut version. he makes sushi a lot and goes crazy when you bring him salmon.

IS SUCH A DORK BAHAHAHA if you even so much MENTION a book or a show he likes he will blabber for HOURS about it. he knows every single fact there is to know about star trek it is insane. you amuse him not because you're interested of course but he is just so damn adorable when he's talking about something he enjoys (which he rarely gets the chance to without being made fun of LMAO)

I have many thoughts on this.

First and foremost, Wukong has extra stones. Since the pendants don't just represent the bond between a mated pair. It's supposed to represent the Monkey themselves in a way too, their family history and those important to them. It isn't uncommon for parents to weave pieces of their own stones into their child's pendant, so when that child gives away their pendant, it's not just to initiate courtship but to officially invite their mat into their family troupe and give a piece of both themselves and their lineage to the other monkey. I imagine Shitougushi had been the one to teach Wukong how to braid and weave his fur, and had added pieces of his own stone, and perhaps a piece of Jade his mother had left him. As for Ye Lin, unfortunately Shitougushi does not have any of his stone, but he knew what it looked like from Shíhua's marriage pendant (which was buried with her) and could fashion a replica.

Macaque, who knows nothing of his lineage and had no such relics form his parents to weave into his pendant, simply chose a simple pendant, but he had a slightly more complicated and secure braid to keep it together to make up for that. I imagine that Macaque had spent hours using hours deliberating over the perfect stone until Chang'e eventually had to step in and tell him to just pick one before he loses his chance and loses the famous 'Peaches' he'd been talking her ears off about for years! She's a romantic and understands the importance of picking the right stone. She gets it, but at some point, it's just delaying the decision. When she later sees Wukong with the pendant during his trial and execution, it had taken all her self control not to intervene when she spotted him clutching to his necklace.

We were discussing the designs in messages! I love the idea if Wukong's pendant including his parents' stones + the Elder Shitougushi (you know that old stone monkey smiling hard when Shihou asks to include him in the pendant's design).

Wukong using his pendant as the ultimate show of trust towards Macaque, welcoming him into not only his troop but to the life/knowledge of what they both are.

And ofc Macaque being dense at first and not realising the significance until Elder (+ the stone monkey spirits of FFM) smacks him over the head, explaining how much the pendant means to Wukong. Her seeing the pendant on Wukong so many years later, especially during his original Trial for the Havoc, and later after Macaque's passing during Jttw when they met in India, and even later still in the modern day, and trying her best not to squee at the romance of it all!

And oohhh Chang'e wanting to intervene during Wukong's original trial/executions in Heaven, but not having the power to do so as a goddess pretty much on house arrest.

His life was twisted into an electronic form when he was really young, and so human touch is almost a completely foreign experience to him at this point, so he will start slow. He might flinch a couple of times, but dismisses it and tells you to go on, that he wants to get used to it. And he does.

🎮• When he does, that's when you've got his chaotic bursts of affection energy to deal with. He loves catching you off guard; you could be doing anything, working or hanging around or whatever, and then he's suddenly there behind you, and you get the tiniest of electric shocks as BEN grabs you effortlessly and refuses to let go for a solid five minutes while you fidget in his glitching but strong arms and glare at him.

🎮• The first thing you'll end up doing is hugging, because he likes the feel of being close in somebody's arms in a way he didn't think he could be before. It starts off surprisingly soft and sweet, until BEN starts getting addicted to the new, intimate sensation, and tries deepening it. Then it's less sweet and more intense, and (sorry for the cliche lol) electric. He tastes kind of appley, and his lips are cold and soft. BEN will carry on going, further and further, to the point of you ending up breathless and him pulling away with a stunned look on his face. That look morphs into his usual mischievous smirk after he recovers in a few moments, and he raises a brow in amusement at your wide eyes and swollen lips, probably with a snarky little "Not bad."

🎮• After you've done it once, you're gonna end up doing it a whole lot more. There are hardly ever any proper warnings apart from BEN gradually moving in closer and being more teasing and flirty, or on sadder days where painful memories of the past come creeping back to haunt him, a source of comfort and reminder that he's still here and has another reason to be alive and basically immortal. It's not just to drive people to insanity and infect their systems with disturbing things until they crack, or whatever other motives he has. Now, there's you, someone who he's decided he needs to look out for and be with in any possible way.

🎮• Like I said, kissing BEN Drowned usually ends in suggestive makeout sessions and the like, because that's just BEN all over. But they're one way he's discovered he can show he cares, and so he'll keep doing it if you want him to, without any hesitation. Realistically, the boy is beyond touch starved, and so that all pours into the affections he gives you. To anyone else, he's a twisted, demon-like boy who makes peoples' lives hell by getting into their heads through ways they can't control, but to you and you only, he'll let himself become more and more vulnerable, until you see that really, he still was and is Ben.

made a new post bc the original was long enough as it was but i've been chewing on these tags @ropebunnykant left on it for a while now because they've really been bothering me and i've been tryna figure out why. like i know i talked about kant always being splintered into different versions of himself or existing w an asterisk next to his name but like.... does it run deeper than that? does kant actually know who is outside of his relationships to others? does kant know who he is beyond the superficial stuff? would kant know how to be alone?

i think the answer is no

i don't think kant has a real sense of identity. i don't think he's ever been afforded the opportunity to develop one. it's why he doesn't think he's interesting. it's why, when he does something objectively nice for james, it doesn't even occur to him to mention it. it's why he doesn't really know how to talk about himself. like ok he likes art. ok he's a tattooist. but what else do we know about kant? kant as a person, not in relation to others. what about his personality? what does he like? what does he want to do in the future? who is he when he's alone in bed at night?

what does he want?

the only thing we're actually explicitly told about kant by kant himself that doesn't somehow tie back to someone else is that he loved sports, especially basketball. but the most interesting part of that to me is that those were things he did in high school. over 10 years ago. probably right around the time his parents died. and its like wow..... is that the last time he liked something just for the sake of liking it? was the last time he had hobbies? the man is 29, and yet the only thing he could think to bring up about himself was something he liked and did when he was 18? is that all there is?

ofc we know at some point around that time that his parents died and he had to take over custody of babe. that lead to bills and the car thieving and captain christ and kant probably didn't leave any time for kant himself. completely understandable. but when you're that young your personality is still forming. you're figuring out who you are, what you want, what you like and what you don't. and when you don't have time to experiment and engage with the world in any meaningful way and you're constantly operating from a place of fear and lack and desperation, what then? what are you left with then?

kant does have a personality. he's definitely not a blank slate. he's cheeky and clever, a (relatively) smooth talker. he has a sense of style and he has friends and he has a job he's passionate about and clearly good at. but that's kind of where it ends if you look at him in isolation. he's brave, but bc he's had to be. he's adaptable, but out of necessity. he's lots of things but most of them are born out of the life he's led as opposed to who he is as a person. he's thoughful, and he's romantic. caring, loyal. willing to do anything for the ones he loves - but all of that ultimately that all goes back to others. it goes back to giving, bc that's what kant does. i don't think he knows who he is if he's not pouring his cup into someone else's. i don't think he knows how to love without putting his life on the line for it.

so then who actually is kant? does he even know? among the many versions of himself that he's had to be over the years, does kant even know which parts were real and which ones were fake? which ones were born out of desperation and which ones acted out of necessity? did he bet on football matches bc he liked it or bc he needed a lot of money quickly? did he hang around with those people because he liked them or bc he'd got so used to being around questionable people working under christ's thumb that he doesn't know how to be around 'normal' people? did he have a lot of one night stands bc he liked it and that's all he wanted, or was it bc he didn't really know how to be in a real relationship with someone? did he help james out of the kindness of his heart or because he doesn't know how to be someone's friend without offering them something, even when it's something you can't really afford to offer?

i don't know exactly. i don't know where kant ends and trauma begins. but i do know that there's something fucked up about kant's sense of identity. and i do know that i want to dissect him like a lab frog to figure out exactly what the fuck is going on in there.

primarily, we decided that he grew up w a lot of siblings, in a middle class family who lived on a farmhouse in the countryside with a wood nearby that they all spent a lot of time exploring. constant muddy wellies and scabbed knees from climbing trees and splashing about in the stream. the chaos of a busy house that's filled w love. think nanny mcphee, swallows and amazons, lost boys vibes

peter is the second oldest. and he's basically a mischievous little woodland sprite. like he's incredibly cherubic-looking and generally thought to be a ‘lovely, polite young man’, old ladies loooove to pinch his cheeks, but he's got this glint in his eye that's just a little too sharp, his laughter a little too mean, his pranks a little too cruel. and he's always up to one trick or another, plotting some mischief with one of his siblings.

when he gets to hogwarts and meets the other marauders, he's the one with that trickster experience, like actually who would the others have been pranking before hogwarts yk...... so i like to think that maybe pete was the one who set them off on their mischief and mayhem path, bc he loves having co-conspirators when he plays his silly little tricks on people. (also mil and i've decided that he and peeves got along swimmingly, and that pete was the one to convince the marauders to go into the forbidden forest the first time, and that he was very good at finding hidden corridors and rooms x)

but. at the end of the day. our peter is always more loyal to himself than to anyone else. he enjoys being a part of a group, and really it's all he's ever known (w his siblings, and then the marauders, and then later the death eaters) but when all is said and done, he's always going to put himself first and do what would best serve him.

and we don't think his betrayal of his friends was some huge premeditated thing. it's this kinda spur of the moment, whimsical, childlike impulsivity. and he sees a chance to get in w this new group - a group that's clearly powerful, and let's face it defo winning the war at that point - and be a part of Something and prove a point and Show Them All and he doesn't really fully think through what his actions mean....... which ofc leaves so much beautiful, interesting room for regret!!!!!

like. telling voldemort the potter's address is such an abstract kind of thing. he's not the one physically murdering them. so i think the realisation of what's he's done and what he's lost wouldn't really sink in until after he's cut off a finger and framed sirius and run away to live as a rat. direct quote from mil bc i think it's perfect: he comes down from the high of having won and he doesn't quite know what he's won but he doesn't have anyone to tell, anyone who will pat him on the back and ruffle his hair.

stage w no audience. yk the vibe. he’s won, he's proved Something, but there's nobody left to celebrate w him. he's lost something incredibly vital to him, the best years of his life. he hasn't got a Group anymore... and that's ultimately a part of why he eventually goes to bring voldemort back bc that's the only group he has left after everything. even if mil and i decided that at least one of his siblings should still be alive :)

also, before he brings back voldemort, his stay w the weasleys. a very similar vibe to the pettigrew household growing up and peter chooses to stay there w them for twelve years. bc it's comfortable and painful and maybe a form of denial or punishment or desperate longing for something that has long slipped away.......

what are ur fave fanfic characterisations of penelope if any??

Okay, so like, in general. I'm so desperate for fics that are about Pen in general. I'll take really any sort of flawed and deeply characterized silly lady. give me headcanons about her that have nothing to do with Odysseus or Helen or Telemachus and I'll bake you cookies. (favorite color, mannerisms she has, phobias, scars, etc.)

So like, I'll take anything that just...really goes full throttle on HER characterization. like if she's quiet and thoughtful or the Chaos gremlin I see her as, as long as people show care and headcanons and go to delve into who she is as well, I'm happy. To me, I see OdyPen as "likeminded" and therefore, anything he would do? Yeah, she'd do it too. Both are smart and stupid at the same time. That's like, my ultimate fave characterization for her. I love my chaotic lil gremlin Water Woman and her equally chaotic gremlin husband.

That's my favorite. Hands down. I think it's so much fun when characterizing them both is to test out if "hey, would the other do that too?" while writing and working to be consistent with that :3

But as I said, I'm just desperate for Penelope stuff in general. and thankfully, just like Odysseus, (likeminded) she is also a "woman of many twists and turns" lol. There's a lot of different ways she is in the Odyssey. :) like it's honestly become my goal to have more things about Penelope in my writing than Odysseus to make up for others just...ignoring her. ;~;

Anything that has Penelope as "more than wife and mother" is fantastic. I've seen way too many basically place Penelope as this "Oh she's what Odysseus longs for!" and never go into WHY and/or about HER. Like, Odysseus loves his wife, absolutely fucking adores her. But there's a REASON why and that's because she's FUN.

Like fics with her being someone outside of what she is for Odysseus. as while I like OdyPen. I fucking adore it actually. I really hate seeing her as a prop for him. I mean my two fics that are up now are both OdyPen but I almost like, have Odysseus be the "secondary character" or like, "it's not about him. it may be his pov for some but It's about Pen, she's sick and stubborn and we're trying to take care of her". And even then, like with the sickfic, I wanted to show her being messy and imperfect and a persoonnnnn

I've found a few fics that have fun with her, but not as many as I'd like ;~; (those who do I love you)

and I mean anything. like, about her past, her siblings and parents, her feelings about motherhood, about Anticlea and Laertes, etc.

like an example I can think of, is when someone mentioned to me that their Penelope "always felt like she was in Helen's shadow". WHICH FANTASTIC!!! GREAT START!!!

But go into why and how exactly that takes form. :)

Is she grateful for Helen taking a lot of the attention? Feeling safer or a bit shyer and wishing to be left alone? Is she a bit scared with what happened with Theseus and Helen happening to her? Was she planning to be a Priestess of Athena before she married Odysseus?

Or was it something that bothered her? Made her feel "lesser than"? Did she resent Helen because of it? Did she WANT to be in the spotlight more? was she angry? etc.

lots of fics about her comforting Odysseus. understandable. but what about her? Does she wake up with nightmares? Thinking it was all a dream? Fear of the Suitors? etc. They are partners and will take care of each other.

stuff like that? What about cute moments of her being a mom to Telemachus? her and Anticlea weaving? etc. etc.

I always get a bit saddened when I'll talk to folks and they don't ever wanna go DEEPER about Penelope, but will about...practically anyone else... :') idk, it feels a bit like loving a doll that nobody else wants to play with? (some ofc, and I love you all who do.) and idk, gets a bit lonely playing with her and no one else wants to.

I mean, we have near nothing on Polites. (one line in the Odyssey) and people still have his past alllllllllll laid out. :/

I feel like some folks like "#odypen" more than they like "#Penelope" :/

So I’ve worked out my theory based off everything we know, plus the stills.

My theory is that somehow the subject of an open relationship will come up. I know this has been suggested, and IMO, maybe it’s the person at the cafe (because I think we’re assuming that picture we saw weeks ago of Oliver in his work clothes at a cafe is this ep?). Maybe they know Tommy, maybe they’re just trying to flirt with Buck or Tommy, maybe a number is offered and they don’t know either of them.

And I know people complain that they don’t want communication to be the issue bc BuckTommy are so good at it, but hear me out. Would it ultimately be a communication issue (in some form)? Yes. But also.

In my head, he (Evan) gets upset at the suggestion that this person may (or may not) have had something with Tommy (or wants it, or some variation of that), which led to him assuming that Tommy either a)has been seeing other people the whole time, and/or b) wants to. So ofc Buck goes to his sister in a tizzy bc he has strong feelings for this man he’s been with for six months and things have been great and Bobby is finally back and blah blah blah, but he’s not sure he can do this whole thing of an open relationship if that’s what Tommy wants.

Queue Josh walking by and being like “open relationship? Tommy Kinard? Wait, you might be available soon? And/or Tommy” at which point Maddie explains what’s going on to Josh and he’s like “oh you sweet little baby bi.”

So then we get a talking to about how Tommy likely wanted Evan to have the option bc (multiple reasons but I’m going with the obvs stereotype: some bisexual people want access to both men and women regardless of relationship status). And Buck is like “but I’m very secure in my relationship so that must mean he wants to see other people.

Again, queue Josh laughing. “No no, Buck. Tommy Kinard is so beautiful in the WeHo community that any time he’s been single, a bat signal goes up. Before you, that man was a regular at the gay bars, especially during theme nights. I’m assuming you’ve heard about the karaoke trivia? He was the winner three years running.”

“Your point?”

“My point is he maybe shows up once a month now and doesn’t even participate because he’s off the market. Anytime I see him out now, it’s one drink and he’s gone because he’s got somewhere else to be.”

At which point we get the explanation from Maddie about him definitely being sure of his feelings this time, and that he should probably tell Tommy.

So then we get the loft scene, Evan explaining how he talked to them and Tommy’s lil smiley face being all “I never talked to anyone else, I just wanted you to have an open line of communication if that was something you were interested in.”

We get something akin to “I’m not interested in anything but you. Maddie said after our first date that I wasn’t sure of my feelings, but I’ve had a lot of clarity on that over the past few months, and I think I panicked because the last time I said this, if wasn’t from an honest place.”

And then we get “said what”

“I love you.”

Kiss. End scene. Roll credits.

So when it comes to Daisuki’s, it is called “Quickdraw Execution” yeah. The domain casts really fast unlike other domains, its possible to still counter it w simple domain easily and ofc his domain isnt powerful cause of his lack of CE, but even with stronger domain the deed is usually done. Its inspired by the time when he killed his lover, since thats when his character was formed and finalized. His lover shaped him for who he is now and so did his technique with domain.

I’d say the interior of it looks like desert with empty bullet shells and red pools with some reminesent face of her haunting the surrounding same as she hounts Daisuki.

For Koji’s, his domain is called “the beginning and the end”. It’s very much like infinite void but instead of feeling everything so much you cant move, you experience beginning and end of all existence in one second which ultimately fries your brain. He doesn’t even need to finish you off after casting his domain. Its also really powerful cuz unlike Daisuki, Koji has fuck ton of cursed energy.

The interior is completely white with one eye in the middle looking directly at you. Very much inspired by biblically accurate angels.

I love this one so much.

This was one of the first fic outlines I ever made. I'd say I made this after I finished writing My School’s Local Mafia Boss but before I started posting. I have yet to fully outline it. I know the whole plot, I just gotta start splitting it off into chapters bc rn its just several 3-page paragraphs of text and ideas and inspo. But I can share some of the plot!

Summary:

What if Bruce didn't arrive in time to adopt his sons?  What if the Court of Owls did? And what if… Dick gets Batman’s number during a mission and talks to him secretly, telling him about his life? What if Bruce helps Dick and his brothers escape?

So the deets are that Damian's 4, Tim's 10, Jason's 12. And Dick's 17 and the coo are waiting for him to turn 18 so they can fully sink their claws into him and corrupt him beyond humanity and make him into their soldier, so they have to get out before that happens.

Also, Dick is the ultimate big brother to the three. Saving them from various things and playing with them, studying with them, comforting them in the aftermaths of Cobb and the COO's harsh moments and training. But he's just one boy. Which is where Bruce comes in. They come across during one mission and Bruce is, well, horrified to say the least. To see these little babies fighting and being turned into mini versions of Talons. So he doesn't fight them and tries to help them instead, gaining Dick's trust, he talks to them secretly and helps them escape.

And then the story really begins. Here are teensy bits of what happens:

It's just short form for Bruce meets Tim.

Summary:

Instead of the common trope of Jason bringing Tim into the family early, what if Bruce himself brings Tim into the family early instead? What if Batman, after Dick left, found Tim stalking him? Cuz he has a seventh sense for lost and abandoned kids.

It's a super cute story! I absolutely adooooore it!!

So one day, Bruce basically stumbles across a stammering-in-awe but still snarky little boy with a camera while on patrol. He is suspicious of the kid's home life and drops him off at a bus stop when the baby refuses to go with him anywhere (in the fear that Batman's gonna arrest him). After that, he sees the boy again and sighs and decides to take him out for ice cream on a whim, feeling nostalgic for when he and Dick used to do that. He drops Tim off at the bus stop again.

But then he comes across Tim again.

Then again.

Then again.

And again!

Ofc, this is when plot happens and it's absolutely the best! Little Tim tells Bruce off, Bruce gains some emotional understanding, he calls Dick, Alfred is suspicious, Dick visits and is surprised, Tim stumbles across little Jason stealing tires, and so much more!

Controversial take on the date/payment discourse but I think social media has been really pushing (for women esp) that money/gifts/being financially taken care of is the most worthwhile expression of love. Obviously this isn’t a new thing, but I think it’s definitely gotten worse. Every month there’s a new gift giving trend and influencers all over getting/receiving the randomest super expensive gifts (most egregious imo is all the “basket” trends, like boo basket, burr basket etc). Nothing inherently wrong w doing that ofc but when it becomes the main form of content you’re watching you’re subconsciously setting a standard that spending $500+ a season on your partner is the only way to show you care (esp for teens who are more impressionable).

It just feels like a giant push towards more and more consumerism, and I get why influencers do that bc it’s the most marketable/profitable content - if you wanna work w brands or get paid for ads what better way is there than creating default content scripts that heavily feature products? Every brand who sees a video can easily envision their product in it and choose which creators to work with. And ultimately social media is all about selling you something.

But ofc the downside now that short form social media content has become so popular, this has become the main thing - outside of real life relationships people see. When I was a teen most relationship content I saw was in romcoms, books, and series - and while all of that was sometimes problematic I definitely didn’t focus on the financial aspects of a relationship the way that modern teens do. Yes there was still payment discourse but it was nowhere nearrrrr as prevalent lol, romantic gestures didn’t have to be expensive or showy the way they are now.

Honest hot take is that we are acc regressing a lot towards a more conservative culture and values and this and overconsumption are just symptoms of that but that’s a longer rant for another day and not your ask box 😭

something something our capitalistic individualistic culture commodifies relationships so people learn that a relationship's value is based on what we can "get" from each other (like money/financial benefits)... something something the power imbalance in traditional gender roles is based on that same principle of value exchange instead of mutual support and growth...
