The Private (not) Thoughts of a Moray Chapter 4: This thing called love, I just canât handle it
Gender Neutral Reader x Jade Leech
Chapter 4 preview:
Jade! Iâm so happy to see you! You look wonderful today. I mean you always look wonderful, so handsome! Oh, you look so cool as a human, not that you donât look cool as an eelmer, but youâre always so cool and handsome and I just love you so much! I love, love, loveloveloveloveâ OhâŚÂ Jade (unfortunately) was looking back at you, thoughts of affection ramming through his head. Darling! Youâre so cute! You look so ethereal under the lights of Octavinelle, the blue reflects wonderfully in your eyes. You always look so angelic, though, but especially now that the color of the sea can act as a scenic environment for your presence. Oh, I love you~ I love you, I love you, I love youâ Between the twoâs thoughts fighting for space in your cramped mind, and youâre pretty sure you could feel a migraine coming on.Â

Chapter 4: This thing called love? I just canât handle it
The liquid in your cat shaped mug (courtesy of Cater) slowly turned from a light purple back to a soft creamy brown as a few drops from your small vial of mauve liquid dripped into your drink.
One, two, and thatâs three drops for me and for GrimâŚ
Placing the vial back in your pocket, you set Grimâs own morning drink, a small cup of hot cocoa with the tiniest of marshmallows, to the side. The barely rising sun indicated it was just before 6 in the morning, so Grim, and most of the dorm was still asleep.Â
You settled in on the nook of the windowsill facing the entrance of the dorm. From here, you could see the Hall of Mirrors, Samâs shop, and the alchemy building.Â
A loud yawn startled you as James entered the kitchen, rubbing his eyes and blinking at you owlishly.Â
âGood morning James.â You said softly, waving. James mumbled what you assume was a âgood mornâ back as he openedÂ
Frustrated grunts and growls emanated from James as he wrestled the, evidently well sealed, package of cereal. You think it was this worldâs version of Captain Crunch, the image of a well-dressed pirate in red with a gleaming hook and mischievous grin staring back at you across the kitchen table.Â
âDamn thisâwhy do they make these things so hard to open!?â James hissed, throwing the colorful cardboard box across the room, nearly hitting a sleepy Tony in the face.
âAck! Ayo?â Tony rapidly looked back and forth between the offending material and James, who was now yanking at the plastic bag of cereal with his teeth. Growling, he used his canines to rip the bag apart so that he could finally have a core part of a valuable, healthy breakfast.Â
He was failing miserably.Â
âCan you watch it? Iâm walkinâ hereâare you fightinâ a bag of cereal?â Tony asked incredulously.Â
Taking a pause, James looked up, bag still in mouth, and gave a muffled âYesh.â
ââŚand losinâ?â
ââŚâ Flushing, James let go of the bag and responded, âItâs my favorite.â
He yelped as one of the other freshmen walked past him and flicked his forehead.Â
âHey, what gives Yakub?â
Yabuk, one of the Scarabia students in your care, shoved James aside with his broad shoulders and tall frame, as he began to take out items from the small pantry in the corner. You werenât sure what Yabuk was, you think either a beastman or fae based on the slight point in his ears and the way his bright red hair was ever so slightly feathery.Â
In fact, you're pretty sure that it was actually feathers, the plumy hairline starting from the peak between his eyebrows and turning into a prominent widowâs peak. His hair, which was undercut and slicked up like a parrot, was quite striking against his dark brown skin and sharp yellow eyes.Â
Framing his narrow face were a pair of red macaw feather earrings, which you think mightâve been plucked from his own head, as the blue and green ombre matched that on the tips of his hair/feathers.Â
Yabuk sighed, deciding to turn and address James, who was back to gnawing at the bag.Â
âHow about this, how about you fight the rest of the cereal by yourself, and Iâll courageously make pancakes for those of us who want a little warmth in our mornings.â
James sneered at him, deciding that the best course of action was to vigorously shake his head in order to tear the bag open. He succeeded, after the bag split down the middle and spilled half of the yellow, red, and blue contents on the floors, where it would no doubt be vacuumed by the never-ending ravenous Grim.Â
You lifted a hand to cover your mouth in an effort to hide the fact that you were seconds away from laughing your head off.Â
âŚUwwwah.Â
James dejectedly poured himself a bowl of cereal, careful to not spill the rest of it. Deciding to be helpful, you walked over from your nook in the corner, surprised no one had yet noticed you.Â
âHere, Iâll get the broomââ
âGWAH!â James shrieked at your âsuddenâ appearance. You wonder if it was just early morning fatigue that made him forget you were there, or if he genuinely didnât process you sitting at the windowsill.Â
âH-housewardenâI mean PrefectâI mean (Name)ââ The poor man yelped as he knocked his bowl off the counter with his elbow.Â
OH SHITâ
Yabuk, also squawking in surprise, managed to catch the bowl before it fell on the ground, wincing at the cold milk dripping down the slides onto his hand.Â
âHahâgot it.â Clearing his throat, Yabuk gave you a nod. âGood morning, Housewarden (Name), would you like a pancake?â
You too had been reaching for the bowl, bent over in an awkward position between Yabuk and James (who was internally screeching at the proximity between you two).Â
âAh, itâs fine, thank you, Yabuk.â You stood back, slightly puffing your chest out as you stretched your back, sighing in relief at your upper spine popping.Â
âI have to go in here soon anyways, Iâll be out of the dorm for most of today.âÂ
Tony, who had poured himself a cup of coffee from the still warm pot youâd brewed earlier, piped up, âOh yeah, ainât we âupposed ta be going over to Octavinelle in halfa-hour?â
You winced and nodded. âYepâŚthatâs right.âÂ
Going over to the dragonâs lair. Or would it be the eelâs lair? Octopusâs lair technicallyâŚ
âAh yes! Iâve been ready to head back to our actual dorm for sometime now!â You jumped, noticing that Aspen had been watching your interaction from the doorway for who knows how long.Â
Aspen gave a closed mouth smile, tilting his head. Canât even be bothered to wake up early in the morning? Pathetic.
You raised your brow at that, deciding to return his smile with a polite one of your own as you greeted him, âGood morning Aspen, yes Iâm awareââ
âI was hoping you wouldnât keep us waiting, Prefect.â You didnât miss the way he nearly hissed your nickname as he walked over to Tony and swiped his cup.Â
âHey! That was mineââ
âAh, well, Iâm sure you didnât mean to do so on purpose.â Ignoring Tonyâs grabby hands, he continued, âAfter all, being a magicless human for so long, and just becoming a housewarden so recently, Iâm sure youâre still trying to manage everything.â
He made a face as he sipped from the cup, disgusted, most likely from the quality of your 2 thaumark grounds from Samâs. Aspen decided to hand back the coffee to a pouting Tony, who was giving his friend the side-eye.Â
âI have to wait on you anyways,â He sighed, turning around to head to the common area. âIâll be in the living room, once youâre ready!â
He ended his sentence in a sing-songy tone, waving over his shoulder. You sighed, the 9 hours of sleep slipping away into exhaustion rather than rest, as you finished your now cooled coffee in just a few gulps.Â
Myah! Whatâs this guyâs problem? Did someone steal his tuna? I bet it was Wynfred. Definitely Wynfred. Â
Grim trotted on all fours to you, using the island barstool as leverage to jump onto your shoulder and affectionately smash his cheek into yours.Â
âMorninâ Henchman! Why did you leave the bed so early?â Grim pouted, hanging off of your shoulder as he winced at the sight of the hot cocoa youâd prepared.Â
Mrrah, I donât like the lavender taste! Grim grumbled in his head, taking the small mug with his paws and downing the now lukewarm drink like a child with a cup of bitter cough syrup. Next time, I get to choose the taste, sashimi-flavored, hehe!
You sighed, grimacing at the thought of a tuna flavored coffee syrup, âWe gotta go to meet with Azul, remember?â
âNooo!â Grim whined, fiddling with his mug. You tsked as cocoa spilled over. âI still donât trust that shifty octopus, I still have nightmares of waking up with an anemone on my head again.â
Grim was still whining as he finished off the cocoa at your insistence. You yourself also finished your drink, placing both cups in the sink. A Heartslabyul student rushed over to clean them for you, muttering something about Riddle warning them to be helpful.Â
Please tell him Iâm good, I donât want to get collared my first week like that freshman last year.
You withheld a snort, biting the inside of your cheek instead. You leaned down to whisper, âThanks, Iâll tell Riddle that youâre doing a good job.â to the student, smiling at his beaming face.Â
âGrim, letâs surprise everyone with our dorm uniforms today!â Grim whooped and jumped back down from your shoulder to climb up the stairs. Heâd been so excited that you two had gotten proper uniforms, as he claimed that it was time everyone started taking him seriously as a mage.Â
Once again, the ghosts had taken liberty to create your dorm uniform. Eliza had given them some of her old dresses from when she was alive as an apology for taking over your dorm. Theyâd decided to take those, as well as some of their own clothes to get you all dressed up. Your dorm uniform was relatively simple, compared to the otherâs, but was comfortable.Â
Theyâd given you two versions, noticing your affinity for both skirts and pants. Your top was made with a striped cream button-up blouse adorned with a silver collar chain sporting two mauve crystal ball pins. The top was accompanied by a dark blue cloak, reminiscent of the ghostsâ own capes. Of the two outfit variants, they had managed to find a dark gray and blue, front corset dress from Elizaâs collection. She had suggested to Bernard that you wear it over the blouse along with dark tights and her old, brown chunky-sole loafer shoes with the dress.Â
The other outfit was recommended by Albert, who claimed he was rather fashionable while alive (Earnest gawked at that, so youâre not sure how true that claim was). This one had a vest, the same color as the cloak, with dark gray, high-waisted pants decorated with silver buttons along the waistband and pockets. You wore the same shoes as with the previous outfit, as they were in surprisingly good condition despite their age.Â
Eliza must have taken really good care of her stuff before and after she passed. I hope she and Puffy are happily married in the afterlife. Maybe theyâll visit againâŚwithout the whole suitor stuff, though.Â
You hummed as you decided to put on the dress version of the outfit. It was obvious that the clothes were older, time and dust took a toll on them, but you had to admit it was nice having a dorm uniform. Plus, the age of your clothes matched the appearance of a now fixed, but still full of character Ramshackle. Like an old Victorian ghost still trapped in their home.Â
âHenchhuman! Help me with this cloak thing!â Grim was grumbling as he had trouble tying the bow of his own mini-cloak. He really looked like a mini-version of the ghosts, he just needed a hat!Â
âComing, coming!â You crouched down to help him, humming. âThere we go. You look great, Grim!â
Hmph! Of course, I do! You donât look bad yourself, henchhuman.Â
Grim grinned as he jumped up to your shoulder, watching as you grabbed the hair pin with the Ramshackle crest and clipped your hair back.Â
âWe look like the real deal! Finally, gonna get some respect here, mehehe!âÂ
You and Grim shared a soft laugh as you pressed your foreheads together. The two of you rushed down the stairs, Grim gripping your shoulder so as to not fall off. Aspen and Tony were dressed in their school uniforms. Though, you noticed, Tonyâs uniform was more hastily put together, vest and jacket unbuttoned and the tie messily put together.Â
Aspen, who was prim and properly dressed, fussed over Tonyâs appearance before noticing you and slamming his hands back to his sides.Â
âHello Prefect, took your time to look nice I seeâ Trying to impress? I still donât see the appeal. âMay we leave now? Iâd like to actually be on time.â
Tony shoved an elbow into Aspenâs stomach, the latter smacking the formerâs arm in retaliation as they shared a look.Â
âUm, yeah. Follow me.â You gestured as you passed by Wynfred by the front door, who was currently trying to yank something out of Silasâs hands.Â
âGive that to meâOh! Prefect!â Wynfred happily greeted you as he managed to take the item from Silasâs hands and shove it in his pocket. âOff to Octavinelle? Will you be coming back for us Pomefiore students?âÂ
You nodded and replied, âYes, but probably in the evening since Iâll have to do Scarabia and Heartslabyul first. Grim and I will both be out all dayâŚâ
Humming, you narrowed your eyes at Wynfred and listened to his thoughts.Â
How nice, my club meeting was canceled today, so Iâm bored. Maybe Iâll just watch everyone and see what they get up to.
âHmm, hey Wynfred?â The redhead perked at the mention of his name.Â
âYes?â
âCan you do me a favor? Watch over Ramshackle and make sure no one gets into any trouble or anything like that. I have a chore board for tasks that Grim and I normally do around the dorm and school, butâŚâ
You gestured to Aspen and Tony, the former looking and thinking about the inconvenience of stopping.Â
âWell, weâre pretty busy now, so it would be a great help ifâoh!â
Wynfred grabbed onto your hands, eyes dazzling and shimmering with glee. He yanked you close to him until your noses were nearly pressing together as he started yammering.Â
âOf course Iâll be in charge! Oh, Iâm so flattered that youâd ask me of that. You know Iâm an exceptional leader of my coven, and I was back home as well, so you can depend on me! Iâll make sure everything is in tip-top shape, don't worry bout a thing! Off you go now!â
Wynfred gently pushed you out the front door, Aspen and Tony following, as he turned to start calling out to the remaining freshmen.Â
âAlright! Housewarden (Name) put me in charge, so listen up!â
Geez, I hope this isnât going to bite me in the butt later. Â
The walk to the mirrors was short and quiet, on your end at least. A few steps behind you, Aspen and Tony trailed along, softly conversing between themselves. Based on their thoughts, you think they were arguing about something, or someone.
Gah! Youâre more jealous than the nereids!
Tonyâs voice rang through your head as you turned your head to look back at the duo, who was now muttering angrily at Aspen. The latter looked almost pouty, looking at the ground as he hissed back something to his friend. The image was actually pretty funny, with the near 1-foot difference between them, Aspen had to lean down fairly drastically to whisper with Tony.Â
Gods, youâre so annoying, like a suckerfish, just take my side!
Tony, on the other hand, craned his neck up to reach Aspenâs ear, and kept darting his head into his friendâs eyesight every time Aspen looked away to pout further.Â
Blah, blah, blah, jealous my ass, maybe I just donât like them!
âItâs too early for them to be this loud, henchhuman! Make them stop!â Grim whined from his place in your arms, glaring at the pair over your shoulders. You cradled him as he sleepily rested his little chin on the crook of your neck.
âLet them be, theyâre not that loud, be honest.â as you said that, you decided to turn your head to look back at the freshmen.Â
Aspen locked eyes with you as he looked up at the same time you did, narrowing them as you turned back forward. You could still feel his stare burn into your back as the four of you turned the corner to the Hall of Mirrors.Â
YOU! Youâre nothing special, just a stupid human. I hate you. I hate you. I hate you, IhateyouIhateyouIhateyouIhatehatehatehatehatehateâ
You abruptly turned around as you arrived in front of the Octavinelle mirror, disrupting Aspenâs little chant of loathing, to address the pair.Â
âBefore we enter, a few things!â You smiled at the pair, listing out your tasks with your free hand as you spoke.Â
âFirst, I need to meet with Azul myself to work out the schedule for you and your two other dormmates. I believe youâll get fitted into your dorm uniforms with your vice while I do. Second, youâll get trained for the working lounge while I go meet with Heartslaybulâs housewarden-â
Grim jumped from your arms to place his paws on his hips and continue your sentence confidently.Â
âThe Great Grim will come get you after your training since my henchhuman will have to move on immediately to the other dorms, so you better do what I say-âÂ
âWait, is the cat actually our vice housewarden?â Tony asked with a deadpan expression. âI thought that was a joke.â
âHey! How dare you mock the greatest mage of all time? Bow down and beg for forgivenessâmmpphh!â
You quickly snatched Grim up and covered his mouth as you gave a tight smile.Â
âThird, once you're back at the dorm, please make sure the Heartslabyul students all leave with Grim, and let the Scarabia students know that theyâll be next. Afterward, you can do what you want as long as you're back to the Ramshackle lounge by 5:30! Any questions?â
You could see the metaphorical roll of Aspenâs eyes as he thought, No-
âYeah!â Tony raised his hand up, akin to an eager kindergartener in his favorite class, as he asked, âIs Jade gonna be meetinâ us at the Mostro Lounge or somethinâ? Heâs usually off hikinâ in the morninâ.âÂ
Yep, just as I intended. Thank god heâs consistent at least, same as last year.
You let out a sigh of relief at that, making Aspen and Tony share a look. Though, they seemed to think your sigh was for a different reason.Â
Hmpf. âDisappointed, are we?â Aspen grumbled, hissing as Tony jabbed an elbow in his ribs in response.Â
Tony chuckled, âAw, donât worry Prefect, donât be sad, Iâm sure heâll be back soon! You can say hi to him then!â Ainât that cute, Jade sure knows how to pick âem.Â
âW-what?â You furrowed your brows in confusion, noting that both of their faces matched your expression. Your grasp on Grimâs squirming body had weakened enough for him to slip out and climb up your arm to sit on your shoulder.Â
âWhy would they be disappointed?â Grim questioned, âJadeâs too scary for my henchhuman to be hanging around!â
âGrim! Be nice! No, itâs not that, I just hardly know him.â you hurriedly clarified as Aspenâs face turned to one of elation and Tonyâs of disbelief.
Thank. The. Fucking. Sea Witch.
No fucking way?!
âWhaddya mean ya hardly know him? All summer, heâs been-ow!â Tony yelped as Aspen pinched his side, glaring at him as he instead turned to give you a smile.Â
âWhat he means to say is: youâve been a hot topic all summer, Jade speaksâŚhighly,â Aspenâs face soured as he said that. âOf you, so we assumed you were rather close, is that not the case?â
Grim snorted as his thoughts spoke to you. Yeah, I bet he wished he was reeeeal close to ya, huh (Name)?
You let out a nervous laugh as you stammered out, âNo, uh, weâre not close at all. Now come on.â
Gesturing to the pair to follow you into the mirror, your vision was blinded by the light of the mirror. Its lavender shimmering morphed into the underwater dorm, a bubble developing around your small group once youâd made it far enough in. The tranquil ocean that Octavinelle resided in never ceased to enchant you, with the soft bluish gray seabed and the light purple reefs, not to mention the clear glass walls of the actual dorm building itself, built right into the lavender reefs.Â
Despite it being so early in the morning, you could see a numerous number of students running through the halls of the dormitory from the aquarium walls. Peeking behind you, you smiled at Aspen and Tonyâs faces of delight, the latter pressing against the bubble until his face was smooshed against it, grinning like a madman.
âYooooo, this looks sick! Aspy, look at all the reefs!âÂ
âAspy?â Grim asked while you hid your smile behind your hand. Aspenâs cheeks turned a light purple as he kicked the back of Tonyâs knee.Â
I thought I told him not to call me that here!
âItâs a childhood nicknameâŚâ Aspen trailed off, his eyes lighting up as the Mostro Lounge entrance came into view. âWoahâŚit really is in the skeleton of an ancient whale.â
You tilted your head at the two as you asked, âIs this your first time in your dorm? You guys didnât get to see it after orientation?â
Tony shook his head. âNah, when we found that weâre crowded, weâre sent over to ya right awayyyYYYEEH-â
The bubble, once past the magical barrier separating the water from the cafĂŠ entrance, popped, causing you, Grim, and Aspen to land on your feet just fine, if a bit unbalanced. Tony, whoâd been leaning down farther and farther against the bubble, fell face-first into the ground.Â
Aspen chuckled in response, looking back at you with pursed lips. So if you hardly know himâŚthen whyâŚ
âSo back to what I was saying earlierâŚwhatâs the nature of your relationship to Azul and the twins then? They, Jade especially, spoke of you quite often.â
The thought of a love struck Jade talking off Floyd and Azulâs ears all summer with the same level of intensity that his thoughts betrayed made a strange feeling pit in your stomach.Â
Ugh, maybe Iâm getting sick. I thinkâŚ
âLike what Grim was saying, I donât really know Jade outside of class or even Floyd. Actually, Iâm closer to Azul thoughâŚweâve been throughâŚa lot together last year. Plus, we hung out over the summer!âÂ
Aspen nodded, grunting as Tony used his arm to yank himself back up.
âRightâŚyou and the other overblot students had to meet with Crowley, right?âÂ
You perked up in surprise, as did Grim, who whipped his head around to Aspen and growled.
âSome random freshman ainât supposed to know that. Have you been snoopinâ around? Iâll cast a whole spell of hurt at cha if ya have!â
âGrim!â You growled, gaze strict, at your familiar as the fire in his ears grew in his growing ire. âBehave yourself. He's right, though, Aspen? Please explain.â
Aspen tensed while Tony abruptly explained, âOur families areâŚtight-knit! They all do businessââ
âHeh, you mean âbusinessâ?â Grim air-quoted as he scoffed.Â
âWe do business together. When the headmaster told his parents, they told ours, so we learned pretty soon after it happened.â
Aspen, quick to agree, nodded along. âYes! We allâŚgrew up together?âÂ
You squint your eyes at the pair, hoping that your, admittedly halfhearted, glare would provoke one of them to either blurt out a further explanation, or their thoughts would betray something.Â
Instead, a synchronized screech was echoing through both of their heads. You took a long, deep breath, and sighed heavily.Â
âIâll ask your housewarden about it later instead, how about that?â With a cheeky smile, you turned back around briskly walking to the host stand of the Mostro Lounge as Aspen and Tony quickly followed after, resuming their earlier bickering.
Looking over your shoulder, you smiled again, softer this time, at the two. The way they bantered, brushed and shoved each other with their shoulders, reminded you of your own favorite duo.
Iâll have to make sure I say hi to my boys before I see Riddle.
Aspen eyes met yours, widening slightly as a soft lilac blush formed on his cheeks. He looked to the side instead, huffing in his head.
What are you smiling at, stupid human. Turn back around andâŚhuh?
Still smiling, you turned to see what had taken Aspenâs attention, before running face-first into someoneâs chest. You and the very tall stranger tumbled a bit before they grabbed your shoulders to help steady you, grasping you gently like you were a precious stone.Â
âOof! Sorry, Iââ
âItâs quite alright, Prefect.â My pearl~ âPerhaps you should pay more attention, you might bump into someone less savory, fuhuhu!â
âEEK!â You rapidly jumped back, Grim falling off your shoulder with an âoomphâ as your back smacked into Aspen and Tony. âJade! I thought you were hiking! You usually do on Saturdays.â
Jade, his tall frame now in full view, smiled as he leaned down to tower over you. âOh? I hadnât realized that youâve memorized my schedule.âÂ
Aaaah! Did you want to make sure weâd bump into each other, too? My sweet, you can ask for my time any day of the week!
âNO!â The volume of your yelp made everyone jump as you turned a deep pink. You laughed nervously, waving your hands rapidly.Â
âAhaha! No, I just remember from last year that youâd be out by the woods near Ramshackle! I figured youâd keep up the same routine.â
Oh, of course. Still, Iâm so happy they remember, my darling pearl! I love you~
âI see,â Jade closed his eyes as he continued smiling, chuckling, âI usually would, but today I decided to make an exception.â
You heard Tony mumble under his breath, âGee, wonder why.â Aspen shoved an elbow into Tonyâs ribs, shushing at his friend before smiling shyly at Jade, a small lilac blush on his cheeks.Â
âHi Jade,â Aspen waved, voice soft and almost meek.Â
Jade! Iâm so happy to see you! You look wonderful today. I mean you always look wonderful, so handsome! Oh, you look so cool as a human, not that you donât look cool as an eelmer, but youâre always so cool and handsome and I just love you so much! I love, love, loveloveloveloveâ
OhâŚÂ
âHello Aspen. Tony. Itâs wonderful to see you again so soon,â Jadeâs attention shifted to the two momentarily. âItâs like we never left home.â
He (unfortunately) was looking back at you, thoughts of affection ramming through his head.Â
Darling! Youâre so cute! You look so ethereal under the lights of Octavinelle, the blue reflects wonderfully in your eyes. You always look so angelic, though, but especially now that the color of the sea can act as a scenic environment for your presence. Oh, I love you~ I love you, I love you, I love youâ
Between the twoâs thoughts fighting for space in your cramped mind, and youâre pretty sure you could feel a migraine coming on.Â
âUgh, my head.â You rubbed your temples as Grim climbed back up on your shoulders, hanging himself off you.Â
âYa good, Prefect?â Tony asked. His voice sounded concerned.Â
âYeah, um, are you going to be training the two while I meet with Azul?âÂ
Jadeâs smile grew as he leaned down, just slightly, to meet your eyes.Â
âFloyd will be training them, and youâll be meeting with me instead.â
What! Nooooo! Not Floyd, he still pinches my cheeksâŚ
Aspen seemed upset, both internally and visibly, as his face soured. Tony, on the other hand, brightened and pumped his fist.Â
âYes! Floyd, my boy!âÂ
Jade chuckled and reached over to ruffle Tonyâs head. âDo try and stay out of trouble, for poor Aspenâs sake. Iâll be too busy with our dear Prefect to keep an eye on the three of you.â
âOh, yes.â Aspen drawled, âOur âdear Prefectâ will need all the assistance they can get. Did you know, they didnât even realize that they had to sign off on their studentsâ club registrations? Our paperwork was barely submitted to the guidance mage yesterday!â
Hmph, I still donât see the appeal in them. Theyâre such a clumsy human. Barely a housewarden. You can do so much better, Jade!
Ooooooh. That makes more sense nowâŚwait, NO.
âAre you sure that Iâm not meeting with Azul?â You laughed nervously, the panic setting in. âI double-checked with him yesterday, he said that we were still set!â
âSomething came up.â Jade explained. The image of Azulâs bedroom door with a broken lock, door shaking as Azulâs muffled voice shouted through the wooden door, entered your brain.Â
You raised a brow and slowly replied, âOh. Should we go check, or?â
âNope. If youâll please follow me, I will drop off our newest employees with Floyd.â Jade turned, looking over his shoulder. âYou and I will have our meeting in the VIP Room.â
Alone~
You cringed, a shiver going up your spine as you gave Jade a tight smile, gritting out, âGreeeeat. Cool. Thatâs fine. Yep.â
Jade is either oblivious or maliciously ignorant to your distress as he guides the small group to the dining room. As you approached, you could hear the bickering of familiar voices, one angrier than the others.Â
Near the bar was an irate Azul, arguing with a bored looking Floyd. Based on what you could hear, Azul was asking Floyd about why his bedroom lock was jerry-rigged to lock him instead.Â
âIDK Azul, I didnât do it, wasnât feeling up to anything like that today.â Floyd whined, flopping his head around before looking over to your groupâs direction. He perked up as he noticed you, more specifically, noticed Tony.Â
âHEY! TONY!âÂ
âHEY! FLOYD!â
Tony ran up to the taller man, dodging his attempts to grab him and ruffle his hair. The two played a small game of chase as Azul came up to you with a pleasant smile.Â
â(Name)! Welcome back, I see youâve taken on the role of housewarden quite well.â Azul nodded his head at you in greeting, directing his gaze to a stiff Aspen as he continued, âNone of my students are giving you any trouble, I hope?â
You had the theory that his question wasnât really for you, as he eyed Aspen up and down. His thoughts confirmed it, though.Â
Aspy, you better have not been a pain, I know how you can be.Â
Said individual was pointedly staring at one of the aquarium walls, pretending to be enthralled with the reefs and fish.Â
Why do you even care, itâs not like theyâre an actual mage. Just, stop staring⌠PleaseâŚ
âYeah, theyâve all been great, donât worry about it.â You answered, smiling as you noticed the freshman relax.Â
Yeah, Iâve been great! Hmph! Take that Zully!
Zully? Huh.
Azul smiled back, shifting his weight on his cane. âGood, Iâm glad to hear. I apologize for not coming to greet you myself, it seems that someoneââ
He directed a glare to Jade, who was still standing next to you with a small smile.
ââtried to lock me in my room, you wouldnât happen to know who that was, would you Jade?â
âNo, I canât imagine who would do such a thing.â Damn, I shouldâve added a spell too. I was in a rush to get to them first. âWould you like me to investigate?âÂ
âWoULd yOu LiKE mE TO INvesTIgATeâ Oh shut up Jade, I bet it was you.Â
âYes please, that would be quite helpful, thank you, Jade.â Azul gestured for you to follow him. âShall we?â
âOh, weâre meeting, right cool, yes!â You sighed in relief as you rushed away from Jade to Azulâs side. âJust us right?â
âUs and Jade.â You screamed internally. âHeâs in charge of the schedules, training, and position placements, so heâll have to be involved.â
Aaah, at least weâll be together in the same room again. I wonder if youâll get flustered if I sit too close? Maybe I can get Azul to step out so we can be on our ownâŚ
Jade tapped you against Azulâs desk, hands reaching down to caress your thighs, before trailing down and making you wrap your legs around his waist. Your dress was unlaced and shirt unbuttoned to reveal your chest and neck, covered in hickies and bite marks. Your hands were running through Jadeâs hair tenderly, holding him close as you shared a deep kiss. âMmm~ Jade! Hurry, weâre gonna get caught if weâAH!â You yelped as Jade reached under your dress to tear a hole into your tights for easier access. Jade shushed you with another kiss, swallowing a loud moan as his hand worked you. âWeâll get caught if you donât stay quiet, unless you want to get caught~ Is that what you want? For everyone to know that youâre mine? For everyone to know that the one making you cry out in pleasure is me?â
Your face was rapidly turning red as you tripped over your feet, stumbling as Azul and Jade both reached out to catch you. Instead, you straightened and rushed out of their grasp, looking at Grim with a strained smile.Â
Itâs just for a bit. You can deal with Jade for a bit.Â
âOkay! Grim, please go take care of the Scarabia students, and tell Kalim and Jamil I said hi. Iâll see you later!âÂ
Hmm? Oh yeah. âGot it! Hehe, I got a whole group of henchhumans to be in charge of now!â
Grim ran off, happy and in blissful ignorance, as you turned to address Azul, âI just remembered, I will have to go to Diasomnia today as well, so I canât stay for long.â
Azul raised a brow, humming, âIs that so? I thought you didnât have any Diasomnia students on your roster.â
âThey donât.â Jade answered, fond thoughts bouncing around his brain as he watched you walk.Â
âI believe they should only have ours, Heartslabyul, and Pomefioreâs freshmen. Iâm surprised that you also have Scarabia students, Prefect.â
Are you stressed? Are all the students too much? I can help! Ask me for help and Iâll make sure youâre never bothered by your freshmen again!Â
You huffed at the suggestion, replying, âJamil let them take residence with me to have a bit of extra space, since they were getting close to being overcrowded. Silver didnât want to burden me with more. Thatâs all.â
âHow kind of him, though I have to wonder if it was really a decision all his own, or if a certain prince asked~â Azul let out a musical laugh, smirking at your glare.Â
âTsk, please.â You opened your mouth to refute Azul, pausing as you felt a dark, angry presence from behind you.Â
Hmph, as if theyâd need assistance from him! Heâs off in Briar Valley while Iâm the one here with you, heâs hardly reliable. I donât like what youâre implying Azul, did something happen between them over the summer that youâre not telling me?! Do I have to ask your mother for your baby pictures?
Slow blinking, you kept your gaze straight ahead, Azulâs words becoming gibberish as Jade continued ranting in his head. He was becoming increasingly more annoyed at the thought of you interacting with Malleus over the summer.Â
Iâm willing to bet that you wouldâve enjoyed visiting the Coral Sea instead, hm?
Huh? Seriously?
I hear itâs dreary in Briar Valley, I think the warm waters of the Rosarian reefs wouldâve suited your disposition much better!Â
Itâs not dreary, only a bit⌠youâre one to talk, donât you live in the cold deep sea? Thatâs probably drearier than anything else, you canât even see anything!
I wouldâve shown you the perfect sightseeing location at Atlantia! Iâm willing to bet my terrariums that he wouldâve taken you to see gargoyles.
So? I find them quite delightful, you know?
âPrefect? Is your head in the clouds?â Azul lightly tapped your forehead as he stopped in front of his office. âYou seem a bit out of it. Tired?â
âUh.â You shook your head and stuttered, âNo, just lost in thought, letâs get started.â
Azul opened the door to his office, gesturing for you to enter first, as he and Jade quickly followed after. Surprisingly, the whole ordeal was rather smooth sailing, if Jadeâs constant barrage of what you could only describe as internal love bombing.
Cute~
Azul had brought out 5 student files, one for each student in your care and gave you the copies of their information. Class and club schedules, student ID numbers, and lots of information about their school before NRC. Interestingly enough, Aspen and Tonyâs files were... sparse, with only their student information on the file. But no mention of their life, hobbies, or family before NRC.
I like that dress on you, it makes you look quite posh.Â
Aw, are you nervous? You always tap your leg when you are, is it Azul? Is it me? HOW CUTE! Thereâs no need to be nervous around me, darling~ I only wish to make you and every other being in this school know that you belong to me~
You tapped your leg faster before pausing and shifting in your seat instead.Â
Geez, just how much are you watching me to notice stuff like that?
âBased on their schedules, they should all be able to work their 15 hours throughout five week days.â Azul handed you a few files to look at the class and club schedules of your Octavinelle students. Each did have about 3 hours per day that they were free for a shift.Â
âThat leaves their weekend open for any duties they may have for Ramshackle and club activities. Are there any issues that could occur on your dormâs end?â
Shaking your head, you looked through the studentâs schedules with mild curiosity.Â
âNo, probably not. The Heartslabyul students have taken up most of the chores at the dorm.âÂ
Oh, Tonyâs one of the ones in Spelldrive? Heh, ironic.Â
âIâm pretty sure Riddle instilled the fear of the Seven in them, before sending them off to me.â
Oh, looks like Aspenâs in Pop Music Club? Huh, doesnât seem like the type. Man, I really didnât pay attention to their club paperworkâŚ
âMy my, that does seem like the Riddle we know.â Azul chuckled, nodding as Jade refilled his cup of tea. âNot surprising knowing how fond he is of you, isnât that right, Jade?â
âISnâT thAT riGHt JAde?â Yes, Iâm aware, quit mocking me you're not too skinny to make a meal of. Â
âOh yes, Iâm quite aware. Iâm sure you enjoy having such a protective friend, Prefect.â I can be protective! Heâs nothing compared to me! âYou do quite need it, with all the trouble youâve gotten into.â
âReally?â You nervously laughed, half-hearted and soft. âI guess? Heâs just being a good friend, that's all, Iâm sure.â
Azul scoffed, âFor being a friend, he does underestimate you. I still remember how you almost took Jadeâs head off when we first met. Remember, when you charge in here demanding I free everyone?â
You blinked rapidly in confusion. âWhat? I never did that, what are you talking about?â
âOh, you donât remember? Hah! Jade, they donât remember nearly smacking your face with a serverâs plate!â Azul laughed as you continued to look on in confusion.Â
Jade smiled, chuckling along. âOh? I do. Quite vividly, really.â
An image, or you guess a memory, passed through your mind of you, very clearly, brandishing a large silver platter like a weapon. The memory's vision shifted, dodging your hits as you tried slamming the plate into Jadeâs face.Â
âYou were quite angry that we took your 3 friends as anemones. A rare sight, seeing as youâre tended hearted, hm?â
Aaaaah! I look at that memory so fondly, you looked so beautiful, angry! Fighting is always the first step to a morayâs heart~Â
You choked on the cookie in your mouth, frantically reaching and gulping your own cup of tea. Choosing to ignore Azulâs snickering, and Jadeâs internal fretting, you nervously gasp-laughed.Â
âOh, I guess? Probably why I donât remember, aha.â
âPerhaps. Back to the topic at hand,â Azul gestured to the schedules and continued, âdo you foresee any issues with the shift schedules Jade assigned?â
You looked again, noticing the blocks drawn in a few of the spare spots in blue pen.Â
âAh, no, it all looks good.â You looked at the clock, peeking at the time. âDid we cover everything? Iâm supposed to be meeting Riddle in about 15.â
Azul and Jade turned to look at it as well, the former clicking his tongue in disappointment.Â
âOh my, yes, this has gone far longer than needed.â Azul squinted at Jade. âJade, I thought you were keeping the time?â
I know youâre lovesick, but please! Your brain isnât made of sea foam, you know?
âApologies. I have been quite focused on the schedules, I do have to ensure that they are able to fill in a position at work.â Jade replied, humming as he cleared the table of your empty plates and cups.Â
I was just so enthralled by my pearlâs loveliness. Theyâre breathtakingâŚmy love.Â
Youâre not sure whatâs worse: the raunchy daydreams, or these. Sentences so full of yearning and devotion that it almost made you feel flattered.Â
I want to hear what they sound like out of breath, can you even moan with no air in your lungs? How could you when Iâm eating them up with my tongue~
Nope. Actually, the raunchy ones are worse.Â
âWell!â You got up, dusting the imaginary dirt off your outfit. âIf thatâs all, then Iâll be heading to Heartslabyul. Grim will be bringing the remaining Octavinelle later for training, they all had clubs this morning.â
Azul nodded, holding the VIP Room door open. âThat works perfectly. Iâll have Jade escort you over.â
âWhat? No, no, no!â You laughed, waving your hands and shaking your head. âIâm perfectly find walking myself-â
âNonsense, we are a dorm of gentlemen after all, Jade?â
Say something this time, I beg. I donât want to hear you whining about clamming up again.Â
âOf course, if you will, Prefect?â Thank you, Azul, perhaps I wonât eat you after all.
You stiffened, eyeing the arm Jade held out. With a resounding sigh, you nodded and ever so lightly wrapped a hand around his bicep. You chose to ignore the cheers in Jadeâs head.Â
âOkay, fine. Bye Azul, Iâll see you at the next housewarden meeting.â You waved as you and Jade made your way through the hall into the loungeâs main dining hall. It was fairly full, the Mostro Lounge was always busy over the weekends, and you could see Tony running around with Floyd. He was carrying two trays in each of his hands with ease, balancing drinks with little concern.Â
What are you doing! Let go of Jadeâs arm, you whore! Die die die diediediediediediedieâ
You quickly swiped your hand back from Jadeâs arm, noticing the small pout he gave at that. From the corner of your eye, you could see Aspen (and the rage that was practically emanating like an aura) seething at you. He was muttering to himself as he angrily cleaned the inside of a glass tumbler. It seemed that he was put at the bar to âtrainâ though based on Floyd following around Tony, who was gossiping with him, Aspen wasnât actually getting much training in.Â
Thatâs right, you better take your filthy hands off of him, youâre a sorry excuse of a mage and an even worse excuse of a human! Youâre not even that pretty, you gross littleâoh crap youâre staring, look away look away!
Aspen turned a deep lavender, looking down at the glass in his hand like it was the most interesting thing since sliced bread. You gestured at Aspen and suggested to Jade, âIt looks like Floyd kinda left Aspen to fend for himself, maybe you should help him out? I can make it to Heartslabyul just fine.â
âHmm? Oh dear, I suppose you are correct.â Jade sighed, eyeing Floyd as he and Tony leaned against a wall, chatting away.Â
âThough, Iâm sure I can escort you and be back in a reasonable amount of time. It would be rude of me to abandon you so, especially when Azul asked me to do so.â
âItâs not that big of a dealâŚâ
âNonsense, letâs be off now.â Jade shushed any further concerns of you as he gently pushed you to the exit. He nodded to Aspen as you two walked by, mouthing âIâll be backâ to the young man.Â
From the corner of your eye, you could see Aspen physically deflate at Jade leaving. Floyd noticed and gave his brother a wink, while Tony briefly frowned, looking between you, Jade, and Aspen.Â
Just let me be around you a bit longer, my pearl.
You sighed, relaxing as Jadeâs hand remained comfortably on your upper back. Though the thought of Jade cornering you in a spare empty room as you headed to the mirror made you warm up, Jade seemed remarkably relaxed around you, for once.Â
It was weird, him just humming along without any screams or daydreams of fucking you.Â
WeirdâŚwait no! This is ideal, donât jinx it! Knock on wood, or heâs gonna think of something! Wood, wood, wood?? AH! Itâs all glass and metal here!
âAfter you, Prefect.â youâd been so distracted that you didnât notice that Jade and you made it to the lounge doors. He was holding the handle of the exit, motioning for you to enter the bubble forming at the door.Â
You made a small sound of surprise, rushing forward to push your body through the bubble. You werenât quite used to the bubble, so It took a bit of effort, which caused you to fall forward. Jadeâs arm wrapped around your waist, catching your fall. A small gasp left your mouth as he pulled you flush against his torso, your cheeks warming.Â
Ah, youâre so soft. And clumsy. You need me to care for you, donât you?
âCareful,â Jade purred into your ear. âI would hate to see you hurt, though Iâd be happy to tend to you if that happened.â
You felt your stomach flip and heat settle as Jadeâs hand tightened its grip. If it wasnât for the warm breath tingling your ear and the rumble of Jadeâs chest against your back while he spoke, youâd think this was another one of his fantasies.Â
I can feel your heart pounding, are you nervous? Do I make you nervous?
Jade leaned farther down, his body nearly covering your own. Ironically, he was nervous himself, if his quick breaths were anything to go by.
You feel so warm against me, I wonder if youâll feel just as warm when Iâm insideâŚ
Oh Sevens, seriously? Now!?
I would make you feel good, give you the most incredible pleasure ever knownâŚ
Please, bubble, move faster! Eek! Jade, where are you putting that hand!
Jadeâs hand trailed upward, resting just below your chest.Â
Ah, is this really real? It is!! I can feel your heart.Â
âJust ask, and Iâll serve. Iâm sure you could use the help now and then.â
Just say something, please! I want to hear your voice.Â
What am I supposed to⌠god, why am I so flustered?!
Despite your thoughts, you couldnât find yourself trying to get out of his grasp. Maybe it was due to the nerves, or the way the warmth in your belly almost felt pleasant, but you werenât sure how to respond to Jade.Â
âUh, n-no thatâs fine.â You mumbled, shifting as Jade continued to hold you, though it seemed his hand was loosening. âIâm goodâŚby myself.â
But youâre never by yourself, are you? You have many friends, ready to come at your beck and call. Why wonât you add me to your little roster?Â
âIf you say so. Just know Iâm always ready to be of assistance.â Jade finally let you go as the bubble finally floated up to Octavinelleâs mirror. It pressed against the now glowing mirror, allowing you to push into the flickering glass of the mirror.Â
The familiar Hall of Mirrors was comforting, the air filling your lungs as you took a deep breath to calm your racing heart and nerves. Jade followed, though he stayed close to the Octavinelle entrance.Â
âAh, I should be heading to Heartslabyul before I run late.â You nodded at Jade as you walked away. âTake care of Aspen, I think heâs nervous.âÂ
You omitted âaround youâ for Aspenâs sake.Â
Oh, thatâs sweet. Is that so? How can you tell?
Jade smiled as he walked away, âHow kind, Iâll be sure to keep an extra eye on him.â
The teal-haired man gave a small wave as he disappeared into a soft light through the mirror.Â
See you soon, my love.Â
You briefly watched him leave, before sighing and turning back around.Â
Geez, that was intense⌠Iâm surprised a that you didnât freak out moreâ
GAH! I CANâT BELIEVE I DID THAT!!!!!!
You brought up a hand to cover the snort leaving your mouth.Â
Ah, there it is. Okay, I guess youâre a bit funny sometimesâŚ

wiping kisses | s.g.
pairing: sam golbach x reader
summary: you decide to prank your boyfriend with wiping his kisses.
warnings: bad writing and grammar(I'm sorry, english is not my first language)
pictures are from pinterest:)
You were scrolling through tik tok when you saw this one girl pranking her boyfriend with wiping his kisses and you just knew you had to do this to Sam.
You knew he would be pouty but you just couldn't help finding this version of him adorable and wanting to see it more.
Later you can reward him with more kisses, so it won't hurt him.
You continued to scroll through the app laying on the couch, while waiting for Sam to come out of the bathroom where he was currently showering before going to gym.
So that will be a perfect opportunity to do this prank.
Not longer than ten minutes later Sam was coming out of the bathroom in his gym clothes. You couldn't deny that he looked hot.
Stopping kissing him will be hard enough and wiping it?
You already wished yourself good luck.
"I will be going to the gym baby." he said laying next to you and buried his head in your neck.
"I will miss you Sammy" you kissed the top of his head.
"I'll miss you more." he kissed your neck before taking his head from your neck and you reluctantly dragged your hand to your neck and wiped the place where he placed the kiss.
He didn't think anything of it and just kissed your cheek.
"Do you want something before I leave?" he asked and narrowed his brows when you wiped your cheek.
"Actually, could you bring me some water?" you gave him puppy eyes and he nodded and went to the kitchen just to be back a moment later with a bottle of water.
"Thank you babe" you smiled at him taking a bottle from him.
"I will get going" he pouted a little before crouching next to you and you knew he waited for a goodbye kiss.
"Okay, love you Sammy" you smiled and you took your phone again to busy yourself.
Sam grimaced but kissed you himself and when you just turned your face other way and then wiped the kiss from your cheek, he narrowed his brows.
"Is everything okay?" he asked.
"Yeah, why?"
"You're just acting weird." he shrugged and you laughed waving your hand.
"I'm not."
Sam tried to kiss you a few more times and when every time you did the same thing he was done.
"What's going on? You're avoiding and wiping my kisses. Did I do something wrong?" he asked. He was kinda panicked since he didn't want to hurt you in any way.
"No, everything is alright." you assured and it took almost everything in you to not break and pepper his face with kisses. Your heart almost broke at the sight of the frown on his face.
"You can tell me" he assured "What did I do?"
And it was your breaking point. His pouty, unsure face was too much for you to handle and you just threw your arms around his neck and pulled him to you.
"I'm so sorry. I saw this prank where a girl was wiping her boyfriend's kisses and I decided to prank you with it. But your face is too much for me" you admitted kissing his nose and he pouted even more.
"I was afraid I hurt you in some way." he buried his face in your neck just to take it after a moment and pepper your face with small kisses, which this time you didn't wipe.
"Aww, I feel bad now" you laughed softly "I love you" you kissed his lips.
"I love you too."

Used my limited graphic design skills to make a chart of all the characters Rosalie has romanced in (almost) every farming sim I've played with her. Lol I'd always wanted to do something like this and I'm pretty happy with the result.
I made a free to use template of it on the right if anyone else wants to show off who they romanced. Feel free to decorate/doo what you like with it- just link back here if you use it so other people can find it o/
Brainrot Below<3
Now, though many of these games involved premade mcs- I've played as some variation of Rosalie in games for as long as I could remember.
I noticed there's a trend that popped up in her choices that I think is as interesting as it is amusing. Ofc, most of these choices were just my personal favorite bachelors of that game, but they were still used to devlop her, and I hadn't realized how much she leaned towards certain professions, personalities, ect. I've concluded my girl loves a hardworking boy whose brooding but sweet- or a golden retriever Marlin: Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life was my first Farming Sim. I didn't get to play the female version until much later in life. So my choice of who'd I/Rosalie married had been pretty decided lonnng before I finally got to play it. But honestly even though I like Marlin, he's kind of the default choice because I didn't care for Rock and Gustafa- and Rosalie wouldn't either. I think if I had ever gotten to play HMDS:Cute I might have liked him more- or she would have married Griffin-
Blue | Harvest Moon: Magical Melody / Friends of Mineral Town: Loved Grey/Blue. (Let's face it their pretty much the same character). Upset the remake took away his hat. Little off topic, but even though character customization wouldn't be a thing in these games for years- I'd used to imagine my character had pink hair like Popuri LOL
Vaughn | Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands: Vaughn was the first time I ever was head over heels for a character in one of these games- I just adored everything about him and I don't think it's hard to see why. Once she got to know him better, Rosalie def would have been hella smitten for this cowboy- (Also Vaughn walked so Logan could run-)
Owen | Harvest Moon Animal Parade: So Owen is an unexpected deviation. Most of these choices are also my favorites, but when I first played through HM:AP Gil was actually my favorite bachelor. I could have made him and Rosalie work, but it just didn't feel right. So after looking them all over I think she def would have preferred Owen
Dylas | Rune Factory 4: One of my favorite games from the genre- and I think the cast of romanceable characters was STACKED. Dylas was my favorite because he was seriously SO damned cute in all his events 𼰠Also think it's kinda funny he's a horse guy and Rosalie has a lot of horse motifs herself-
Alex | Stardew Valley: REALLY unpopular opinion incoming! I've put over 500+ hrs into SV đ but in all that time, I've just never clicked with any of the characters. Which really sucks because this is the first game I ever got to play as Rosalie. Alex and Sam were my favs, but I think Rosalie would lean more towards Alex.
Logan | My Time At Sandrock: Logan đđđĽ°Just, guh- I LOVE everything about him and MTAS so damn much. Especially because the hyper fixation I had with this game/character was what led me to finalize Rosalie's design/character at long last. I developed so much content for him and Rosalie I never got to share đhope I can someday!
Mark | Coral Island: God I love big men who love animals- and Rosalie does too. đŚđĽ° Honestly, even though he started out as one of my favorites (later to be replaced by Shark man hoo hoo haw), I wished more of his heart events focused on his relationship with the player instead of the dog. It was really cute at first but like 6 of the 8 cutscenes were about it and most of the time he never even interacted with your character. Was disappointing ngl.
Nokk | Roots of Pacha: Now- Nokk is not currently a romanceable character, but I'm hoping the future update will add him to the roster. đŤ đCause this is another case where I LOVE the game to pieces but none of the characters speak to me- aside from the one I can't have- Hayden: Fields of Mistria: and last but not least- Hayden. He just completely encapsulates so much of what Rosalie finds attractive, it's a little funny. I'm waiting until the game is finished to continue playing and I can't wait to see what the future holds for him.
The following will include some honorable mentions that I didn't include because I didn't have anymore room on my template/they weren't a farming sim/ect.
First up! Nathaniel from Sunhaven!<3 Feel like this responsible captain of the guard would work well with Rosalie. Honestly, there weren't really any choices that felt right for her, but for once in many years my main playthrough of the game ended up being with a different character and I had someone pre-picked out for her. So there lots of great choices, just none that suit Rosalie well.

In another life (Tara's version)
(Tara Carpenter x fem! reader)
Summary: You're Tara's childhood best friend, and years after leaving Woodsboro, you meet her again in New York, making unexpecting feeling emerge. Tara || Sam Warnings: none a/n: I made another one shot, kinda complementary of this one, with Sam :)) I put the link up there if you're interested (English isn't my first language, I'm sorry if there are mistakes or if something doesn't make sense TvT)
She had known you for as far as she could remember.
You were her neighbor, back in the days. That gave you the opportunity to see each other a lot, to play together.
That also gave your parents the opportunity to hire Sam as your babysitter, which meant you could see Tara more because you rarely saw one without the other.
You both enjoyed your time together, to the point Tara even had a crush on you during the last years you saw each other.
Sadly she never got to tell you about it, as you left with your parents the same year Sam ran away.
You said you would try to stay in touch, but it never really happened.
And now, almost 6 years later, you were about to meet again.
Tara and the rest of her friends just left a party , right after Sam barged in and tazzed some dude in the balls. The Carpenter sisters were fighting in the middle of the road, when a random girl threw her soda at Sam.
Half of the group tried to get the girl while the other held them back, trying not to cause too much drama. They didn't see it, but one of the girls was filming the whole thing.
Luckily for everyone, you did see it. You were actually going to that party, and saw the whole scene from afar. You didn't like that kind of attitude at all.
So when the girls walked passed you, you grabbed the phone of the one who was filming, and deleted the video before she could post it.
They all gave you horrified looks, like you did the most horrendous thing.
"That's called karma" you mumbled to yourself while you walked away, in the direction of their victim
She was trying to dry her jumper, when you approached her.
"Are you okay? I'm sorry, people are so dumb sometimes..." you said as she lifted her head up to look at you
As soon as she did, you recognized her. She hadn't changed since the last time you saw her. Well of course she had changed a bit, but not enough so you don't recognize her.
"Sam..?"
Considering the look she gave you, she clearly didn't recognize you.
"Y/n?"
You almost immediately turned around at the sound of another familiar voice, but didn't have the time to see anything before she literally jumped in your arms, hugging you tightly.
After a moment, Tara let go of you.
"I didn't think I would ever see you again..." she said, looking you up and down to check if you were real, a smile on her face
"Me neither" you chuckled "What are you doing here in New York?"
While Tara answered your question, Sam looked at you with wide eyes. You had changed so much since she last saw you... You were really pretty. Like... really really pretty.
She never thought she would think about that one day but... here she was, wondering if she should ask for your number. She wanted to. really bad.
But wouldn't it be weird? It had been years since you talked... What would you think if she did ask for your number? She didn't want to make things awkward between the two of you. Really not. But maybe you'd want to talk to her too? Maybe she should just-
"Can I ask for your number?"
Tara's voice made Sam snap out of her thoughts.
"Oh, yeah, of course! I was about to ask for yours too"
Sam watched you exchange numbers with Tara, slightly mad at herself for hesitating so long. Now it would just be weird if I asked for her number too, she thought, Iâll ask Tara later.
<><><><> ⥠<><><><>
The weeks after you gave Tara your number, you both caught up onto each otherâs life. Tara told you about what happened in Woodsboro the year before, and you wish you didnât move out of there. Even if it was not your fault, you felt bad for not being there when she needed it.
If you were there you couldâve helped her, save her. You wouldâve probably even spent the night at her house. God, you couldâve helped her against Ghostface!
That explained why they moved to New York.
The day you met again, Tara only told you they needed fresh air without more details. But now you understood. And you were willing to give her the fresh air she needed.
You had switched to lighter subjects, such as college and free time. Thatâs how you learnt you had some classes in common -which would later give you excuses to spend more time with her.
You both used said excuses, asking the other to help you with homework, or share notes for a class⌠Everything that could give you the opportunity to be together more.
You also saw each other at the park, or at the cafĂŠ where Sam worked, or literally everywhere you could go. You both were enjoying that, contrary to Sam, who struggled seeing you.
She could almost only see you when you were with Tara at the cafĂŠ, or when you were doing homework together at their apartment. She was dying to see you more. The majority of your conversations were by texts, but it was never as good as face to face onesâŚ
You didnât seem to notice though, as you were realizing you might have feelings for Tara, and couldnât just get her out of your head. You never realized it before, but now that you were thinking about it, even back then you had a crush on her.
This day, Tara invited you over to spend time together, where you could have more privacy than outside. You were happy about it, especially since you had something to ask her.
After a moment spent in her room playing board games and chatting, you started hesitantly.
"Hey Tara... um... You know I'm part of the photography club, right? Well um... I was wondering if you... if you'd agree to be my model..."
You were a bit embarrassed to ask, but you were convinced she would make a good model.
Tara was also embarrassed, but at the same time she was flattered you thought of her to be your model. She had always been a bit shy, but she got a burst of confidence from your ask and agreed to model for you.
After half an hour of switching poses and taking pictures, you both sat on her bed so you could show her the pictures you just took. You enjoyed taking pictures of her, she was just so pretty... you wanted to capture that.
And she seemed to like it too, considering all the compliments she gave you at the sight of the pictures.
"I think this one is my favorite" she said, pointing at one of the pictures
"Yeah? I really-" you started as you turned your head to face her, but cut yourself off when you noticed how close you were to each other at that moment.
You could feel her breath on your face.
You couldn't help but admire her beauty. You found everything in her perfect. Her eyes, her freckles, her smile, her dimples... everything.
In spite of yourself, you couldn't help but look at her lips. The urge to kiss her had grown more and more inside of you for the past months, and you just wanted to give in.
In a burst of courage, you leaned in a bit, just enough to let her know your intentions, but not enough to touch her lips yet, to give her the occasion to back off if she wanted to.
She didn't. Instead, she leaned in as well, closing the gap between you, pressing her lips to yours in a soft kiss. You couldnât help but smile at the kiss, putting a hand on her cheek so you could kiss back.
Quickly, you got caught up in the kiss, which soon turned into a make out session.
You both had waited so long to do that, ever since you were children -even if at that moment it was just a little crush. Everything was just so perfect right now⌠just like you had imagined.
Sadly, this moment was interrupted by the door opening suddenly.
âGirls, what do you want for din-â
Sam stopped the moment she saw what was happening; even if her intervention had caused you to pull away from each other, your reddish lips and cheeks, and the non existent distance between Tara and you let little to the imagination.
The three of you were embarrassed -for different reasons, and Sam felt that unpleasant feeling again that she refused to call jealousy. She quickly closed the door again, going back to the living room, trying to forget what she saw and focus back on making dinner.
She knew that would happen one day. It was obvious it would happen. Tara had always loved you, and Sam had always known it. She had also suspected you too had a crush on Tara, back when you were children. And apparently, she was right.
Tara was as embarrassed as you were, cheeks more and more red.
âI um⌠Iâm sorry, I shouldâve locked the doorâŚâ she whispered, not daring looking at you
Tara and you started dating after this day, and you were both happier than ever. Kisses, cuddles⌠everything was magical.
Tara was the sweetest, most adorable girlfriend you couldâve wished for. And she thought the same of you.
She often invited you to stay at hers and Samâs apartment for dinner, and sometimes you even slept there. Which you love, by the way; having Tara in your arms just felt so nice you never had trouble falling asleep.
Out of your âlove bubbleâ, Sam was trying her best not to say or do anything that could be misinterpreted. She was really trying to be happy for Tara and you, but sometimes it was just too much.
Like when at the dinner table you couldnât stop giving each other heart eyes, or say every possible cheesy thing. You were even too in love to see her roll her eyes or hear her scoff.
But at the end of the day, she knew she couldnât do anything about it. Maybe, in another life, weâll be together⌠she thought.

Notes from the Taskmaster 16x10 recording
The last two episode recordings I went to, I meant to make comprehensive notes when I got home afterwards that I would be able to look back at and post when the episode aired. I did not, in fact, end up doing that. So this time I was determined to have lots of notes, and made them on the go in the breaks in recording. However. They were made in a rush and I never went back through them to pad them out (you'd really think I would have learned by now). So instead of just having to rely on my memory, I ended up with an almost coded list of words and phrases that it's taken me pretty much 2 weeks to sit down and decipher lol. So with that said:
the pre-episode Greg-Alex entertainment was Greg getting Alex to sing a song about a recent news story to the tune of a song suggested by the audience - in this case it was Trump's lawsuit (the one in May 2023 since there are...a few) to the tune of Wuthering Heights
Alex really went for the whole live thing, and was constantly referring to it throughout the episode
when the contestants came onstage, I obviously first saw Sam in his bright colours and blond hair
we were right on the back balcony and my first impression from that distance was that he kinda looked like Jamie Laing lol
Greg made a passing comment about how he's been dressing in grey but I was completely taken by surprise when the vt rolled and he looked completely different!
I had assumed he'd actually buzzed his hair and didn't realise it was a wig until the ep aired
Sue made comments throughout the episode about how Sam looked like Dahmer
Lucy's prize task story, unsurprisingly, went on for ages and included a whole story about the holiday they went on that I tragically cannot remember
I was so glad they didn't cut 'untaffled' because I looked through my notes before again before watching the episode and couldn't for the life of me remember what she'd said
Greg's said that his immediate response to naked Alex in the prize task was that he was 'smooth like an eel'
After Julian's prize task there was a discussion about how people wanted to be buried, and at one point (I wish I could remember the conversation leading up to this) either Greg or Alex said they would be buried 'together forever in the Victoria monument'
There was a whole long debate about whether Sam intended to use nature as part of his doughnut task, and whether the bird toppling Ms Doughnut to her death should be counted
Greg told Sam to 'convince me to give you 3 points'
Sam went on talking about how amazing nature is and how we're all connected and at one point said 'consider the statistics.....3000' (I'm 99% sure this is what he said and I didn't just forget the rest of the quote)
Julian's exercise name was absolutely not a one-off, to the point they started running a 'cunt count' for the episode
Sue talked about how she had recently had an ADHD diagnosis, and that she kept viewing tasks holistically rather than paying attention to the details. This was specifically in relation to the exercise where she just did the same thing 4 times
I'm not sure if we saw the full extended version of Hotel Taskmaster, but we definitely saw a cut that included more than the aired version (though tbh I think they do that for most tasks and I just noticed this one bc we got the extended version)
We got an 'I put it to you' from Greg that Alex-as-Qrs looked genuinely cool
Lucy described Alex as having 'tight metallic buns' which Greg later referred to as his 'robot arse'
I cannot stress how much of a breakdown Susan had in the studio about the forks and marbles - you get a glimpse in the episode but that was nothing!
Susan also took AGES to do her throw in the live task - she kept on being about to throw before being interrupted, or saying her arms were too short, or that she needed a wee, or having a fit of giggles, and the longer it went the worse it got lol
Greg and Alex also had a go at it, and Sue wanted another go without the pressure. Greg and Sue got the ball in but Alex didn't
Don't ask me to remember the context, but at one point during the record, Greg told a story about someone he knew (whose name he said he would tell the others backstage) who would have sex in a cow mask and would demand 'LOOK AT ME!!!'. Anyway that was referred back to a few times in the ep
When Sam was given the trophy he just stood near-motionless with it for what felt like ages before we got to the hugs and everything
And now we enter the magical world of ~what on earth was this note referring to~ where I just hope someone else who was there (@politicalprocrastinator how's your memory?) sees this and can fill me in on what I've forgotten:
At some point around the prize / first task I wrote 'correct dog guess'. Whose dog? What was being guessed? Absolutely no idea
At some point there was a joke about the 'former Prime Minister', I think the idea being that by the time the episode aired we'd inevitably have a new PM? but I honestly can't remember
Someone called someone else submissive in a way notable enough for me to have written 'submissive' as a one-word bullet point, but not notable enough for me to actually remember
And now three bullet points which I will present in their original form:
Birthday
Bum hole in back
Get in bath

Although I mainly see the first six episodes of s13 as an engaging portrayal of two grief-stricken people lacking the tools to deal with what has happened to them, I can also totally see them as the so-called "widower arc". Two things can be true at the same time because yes, Dean was totally grieving Cas' death. But I'll make it worse for you.
Maybe I'm biased by the many times I've read the term "widower arc" but Dean was 100% looking for a consort in Cas in s12 (yes, "consort", I'm tired of "partner" or "boy/girlfriend", they're weak terms, give me "sharing destiny" type of old words) so I think this interpretation is not so far-fetched.
We have a grieving widow(er), a desired consort who's dead and then resurrects and a son who's been defined as "the rising son". As I've already said these are some of the elements of one of the most ancient myths in Western culture, that is the myth of Isis and Osiris.
Now, of course it was not a retelling of that myth, I don't even think it was a conscious effort to shape the story that way but sometimes symbols will be symbols, what can you do?
First of all, two brothers: Set and Osiris and Lucifer and Cas. We know how it goes, one brother kills the other (As an aside in one version Set built a wooden chest and tricked Osiris to enter into it just to seal it and drown it in the Nile. We have totally NEVER seen this image in Supernatural. Not even ONCE).
Things get very interesting from here on because in the myth there's a lot of focus on the body of the deceased brother, Osiris/Cas. The most famous way Set disposed of his brother's corpse was to cut it into pieces, to... tear him apart if you will. It is then kinda WILD that AU!Michael kills "his" Lucifer the same way:
MIchael: I killed my Lucifer. Tore him apart in the skies over Abilene. But hey, canât get enough of a good thing.
Apparently, the body must be somehow intact for resurrection to happen. In the myth Isis has to find his husband's bodyparts scattered all over Egypt in order to resurrect him. So we need to pay extra close attention to Cas' body which we are actually shown in that tragic scene where Dean prepares him for the pyre. So it's Dean who takes care of Cas' body, who "collects" it, just like Isis. Interesting.
In SPN "What gets burned stays dead", therefore Cas cannot resurrect, or so they think. The mantra is repeated by Jack in "Tombstone" when he first sees his father. To be honest, we don't really know how Cas resurrects. For the first time we see what happens to him between death and rebirth but we miss the technicalities. We can only assume that Cas' ashes were enough. Or maybe, just maybe, that's just a rule that applies in Chuck's story. Just saying.
I'm not sure if they try to discover how Jack managed to do that but the point remains: it was Jack who woke Cas up in the Empty.
And why did he do that? Well, because he can. The very first thing that Jack does is resurrecting Kelly in an episode aptly named "The Future", where Jack is sort of introduced via his mother's resurrection. He doesn't know how to use this power but he unconsciously does it again with his father. And I ask again: why?
Jack wakes Cas up in "The Big Empty", four episodes into the season. He could've done it sooner? No. Because what prompts him to unconsciously act is Dean's grief. And Dean reaches his boiling point when Sam finally provokes him. Osiris/Cas dies and his consort Isis/Dean is inconsolable. Other people like Sam can forget about it, but Dean can't in every sense of the verb.
In the myth it's Isis who resurrects Osiris and has a child, Horus, with him. But she got help. Dean's only human but there is a demi-god running around in his bunker so I think that helped. And Cas must be credited for the effort and the pushing.
Let's just say that resurrecting Castiel took three, actually four people okay? It required a team effort. Because none of them is a fully-fledged god like God or Amara or some Archangel who can just snap their fingers and boom welcome back to Life. Coaxing someone into resurrection (a resurrection with consent) takes a lot of willpower... and a lot of love.
I said four people because the last character in this little story is The Shadow. And we see this in the myth as well!
Isis doesn't "just" resurrect Osiris, she has to convince the motherfucker. Cause, you see, Osiris's heart was tired. A tired heart! Oh so beautiful! He didn't see the reason to go back to life. He was sooo tired. Isis has to literally seduce him back to life. And... this is kind of what The Shadow does, but in reverse? It tells Castiel to go back to sleep, to find peace, it's been in his mind and he wants to sleep, it knows!
The Shadow is Cas' tiredness, all his failures and regrets. But, as I said, it takes a lot of willpower and a lot of love to resurrect the dead, this is what Isis teaches us actually. To love more and then some more. And Cas loves back and he loves hard.
Castiel: You can prance and you can preen and you can scream and yell and remind me of my failings but somehow, Iâm awake. And I will stay awake and I will keep you awake until we both go insane. I will fight you. Fight you and fight you forâŚever. For eternity.
He didn't come back because he annoyed an ancient cosmic being. He came back because he loved.
So Osiris/Cas are back to life and that's good, right? Well... yeahhh. The thing is that Osiris will then live in the world of the dead so he kinda doesn't really really stay alive for long. And Isis will follow him. Things will likely go bad for Cas.
But the story continues!
Set/Lucifer and Horus/Jack engage in a rather disturbing (in the myth) struggle for power. The myth has different endings: in one they reconcile, in another they divide the realm, in yet another one Horus is the one true winner. So we don't really know (from this point in the narrative) how things will actually turn out for the two of them.
Isn't it interesting? Well, it's not surprising because there is a connection between christian stories and greek and egyptian ones but still? Kinda cool to see how myths keep repeating and repeating. As if we're still trying to understand them.
Anyway: yes to the widower arc, yes to love piercing through the veil of death. Both ways! It takes the love of two to resurrect.

Hi hi! Something has been eating away at my brain and i think itâs your cup of tea so who do you relate the pureblood brother duos to in media or in history? For example famous brothers like cain and abel or the grimm brothers etc etc i would LOVE to know what you think
Thatâs all<3
Admittedly I donât consume as much media with siblings as I actually do lol. Iâm sorry đ (the Orestia has been on the back burner and I just canât see anyone as Antigone)
Sirius and Regulus relationship might come off as controversial so if itâs not ur cup of tea dw I wonât make u drink it <3
Anyways, I see Regulus and Sirius as Hansel and Gretel. The way their relationship (taking account that I see Regulus as ftm), their relationship is heavily gendered with a power imbalance. The best way I can describe is this (curtesy of @deathnguts):
(Best thing Iâve seen all day actually)
Sirius is given the power over Regulus as the eldest son of a Chinese family in a culture where the son is the carry the family name and thus, preferred. He has to power to hurt or care for Regulus and I see it as he does both but canât tell the difference/isnât taught the difference until he meets James (which where Regulus gains the upper hand).
This is where Hansel and Gretel come in. Hansel in the story, like Sirius, takes charge, comforts, and leads and is the main reason why the siblings were able to get home the first two times. Then like Regulus, Gretel strikes last (shoving the witch in the oven). I find it a neat comparison, Sirius strikes first and then Regulus does (Sirius fights back against his parents and beliefs first and then Regulus turns his back on the Dark Lord last). And the two return home (afterlife).
At worst, I can see them as Helaena and Aegon Targaryen, not the marriage part obviously, just the overall dynamic of an annoying and rude older brother who still cares but just doesnât know how and his younger and in-their-own-head sibling. (Cue scene of Aegon calling Helaena an âenduring mysteryâ in front of all the servants, itâs a sweet thing to call someone but he does it in a teasing/making fun manner). But I see it as it being when they are younger. I def think that the closer Sirius approaches running away, Regulus has a more emotional hold over him. Because Sirius feels terrible for their power imbalance and starts to view Regulus as equal while Regulus strictly adheres to the cultural values that they were brought up with.
Thatâs my version of them. The wider, more accepted version of them is basically Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian from mdzs copy and pasted onto a bunch of French white boys (NOT MY SIRIUS AND REGULUS) (/j)
And a funnier association if Tybalt (Regulus) and Sirius (Juliet). I wonât get into that but itâs meant to be funny I swear.
Not brothers but the Rosier twins. @/juniperpyre has once commented that my Rosier twins seem like a medical version of the twins from the Secret History, but Iâve never read that book. In fact, the Rosier twins were taken from Sam and Eric from the Lord of the Flies. Throughout the book, Sam and Eric experience a transition from Sam and Eric to âSamnericâ, basically becoming one and thatâs where my version of the Rosier twins from. (Plus med stuff)
Xeno and Lucius are who I associate with Cain and Abel. God (their parents) favor Abel (Xeno) over Cain (Lucius), Cain retaliates (Imprisons Luna and is a Death Eater/associated with a group who was willing to kill his family while he got away). Lucius is character I see as a calm facade with jealousy, envy, anger, dirty ambition, and perpetual hunger simmering under his skin and I think that contrasted with Xeno kinda makes them a neat parallel to Cain and Abel (if that makes sense?). Xeno is clearly favored (as the second son by his mother and as the carefree son by his father). And itâs also neat that Cain is older than Abel (Lucius is older than Xeno).
The Lestrange Brothers are their own mess and once again, I donât know enough media to associated them with anyone.
#I clearly have a favoriteâŚ.#LET NO ONE FORGET I AM A BLACK FAMILY ENTHUSIAST FIRST AND HUMAN SECOND#I swear I love the Lestrange brothers but I do not get into fandoms as much lol#ivan gets the mail#the black brothers#lestrange brothers#the rosier twins#lucius malfoy#xenophilius malfoy#regulus black#sirius black#rodolphus lestrange#rabastan lestrange#marauders era#trans regulus black#trans regulus

Okay, since I haven't seen many posts up yet about this, not that I blame anyone since others are probably at school and work rn, I want make a post summarizing what happened so far in the latest event on the JP server.
Disclaimers:
All of this info came from LuluBelle over on my Discord server, so all the credit for gathering this up goes to them.
Also, I don't know how to speak or read Japanese nor do I have the JP version of the app, making me unable to verify this. Take this all with a huge mountain of salt.
Like I said in my other post, I'm calling him Honest Fellow, since that sounds less awkward and I think it'll be localized to that anyway.
JP Event Spoilers Below
The arc starts with Honest Fellow and Giddel selling the themepark to some faceless NPCs. After some convincing, they enter the park. Honest Fellow evil laughs.
We cut to a basketball game between RSA and NRC. NRC lose yet again. NRC fight amongst themselves, and the teachers break it up.
After the game, Floyd, Ace, Yuu and Grim, wallowing in their frustration at NRC's loss to RSA, decided to go Craneport to get some snacks. There they find Jade and Jack on the way.Jack was there to get some new threads while Jade was there by sheer coincidence.
Kalim and Ortho arrive. They were in a bookstore, because Kalim was searching for books concerning magic potions, since he's struggling with those and Sam's shop was closed. (I have no idea why Jamil wasn't there either, because him leaving Kalim unattended seems kinda ooc.)
Honest Fellow along with his brother swoop in, making their sales pitch. Grim wonders about what Playful Land is exactly. Ace explains that it's a mysterious amusement park that nobody knows where it is. Honest Fellow says that's correct.
Honest Fellow gives the group tickets to the park. When Kalim says they'll go the next weekend, Honest Fellow chimes in, saying, "Oh, no, no! You can only use it until tomorrow!" They both fuck off into the night.
When the group gets back, they tell Riddle and Jamil about the tickets. They're both like, "Hell no!" Riddle shoots it down because skipping classes is unforgivable. (Ace was originally gonna invite Deuce, but he tattled on him to Riddle, since he found the whole thing suspicious. Honestly, good on him.) Jamil finds it suspicious and puts his foot down, telling Kalim that he forbids him from ever going.
Jack tells Leona, who is all like, "Nah, this is kinda fishy." Jack decides that he has to go because he promised Honest Fellow he would, and he doesn't want to break it.
Floyd tells Azul. He says, "Nope, I'm not coming. It's sus, and I don't wanna owe anybody anything!" They tweels laugh, saying that they want to check it out BECAUSE it's shady.
Ortho tells his brother. He shoots it down, since he doesn't like crowds. Ortho then confides in Vil thanks to them being in the same club.
Early the morning, before the sun rises, the group gathers to sneak to the harbour in town. Kalim managed to get the rest of the Light Music Club to come along, because they saw just how sad Kalim seemed and decided to tag along to comfort him. Vil was convinced to come along by Ortho. One, he wants to see what's the big deal about this park. Two, he's also suspicious, and, as a dorm leader, he wants to oversee all of his juniors and make sure they're all okay. Trey followed after Ace because Deuce asked him for his help and had the feeling that Ace would be stubborn enough to rebel and sneak out even though Riddle said no. Leona followed after Jack because he felt like he had to be the responsible one for once and was genuinely concerned about Jack's well being.
Honest Fellow arrives. He is just so dramatic. Half of them go, "Fucking really? Why did any of our juniors trust this guy? He's as sus as a FNAF animatronic!" (Not in those words, obliviously, but along that same idea.)
Honest Fellow shows them around the park. Which looks like this...
The park is more like those travelling summer fairs where it goes from town to town instead of staying in one place like Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm or any of the Disney Parks. The boys can kick back and indulge in their darkest desires.
The third years still feel that this whole thing is kinda sus. Since Grim and some of the others head straight to the entry gate, they reluctantly go along with it to watch over their juniors. Grim face plants into the gate, because he didn't show a ticket. Ace shows his ticket. Ace, Grim and Yuu's clothes get magically altered to resemble the ones on the card. The same thing happened to everyone else.
After everyone's gotten inside the amusement park, we have a foreboding speech from Honest Fellow and Giddel about how the young generation are easily skeptical, but can still be fooled by the promises of a fun play park. Honest Fellow mentions how he and Giddel should accommodate their visitors⌠for it will be the "last'' fun memory that they'd have. Cue End of Part 1.
Some other minor side things...
It's confirmed. Honest Fellow and Giddel are brothers.
Honest Fellow is a mage, but is less magically inclined compared to the NRC boys. Giddel is a non-mage.
Lulu, aka the same person from my Discord server, suspects the themepark itself might be a magic tool of some kind. Considering how it operated in the movie and novel along with fan theories about them, I'm inclined to believe them.
We also finally got a description of what Yuu is actually wearing during this event. (Honestly, it's about fucking time. Because one gripe I always had with these events is that we never get even a small description of what Yuu is wearing, which makes it harder to imagine what's going on in my head.) Basically, they are wearing the same style jacket as Leona, but with the same colours as Lilia's costume. Do with that information as you will Malleus/Yuu shippers.
Honest Fellow has a Honest John pendant on his hat.
More of a personal gripe, but I'm not sure what to make of Honest Fellow as a character yet. Right now, he seems like the mastermind behind this whole operation, but that doesn't make sense. In the movie, Honest John wasn't on board with the Pleasure Island shit, and only went along with it thanks to the Coachman threatening him and Gideon's lives. Wouldn't it be far more fitting for him to be a lacky of another villain and being forced to go along with it out of fear of having the same thing happen to him and his brother? And if that was the case, that would also better align him thematically with Ortho, who's brother is the same way towards him. But I'm reserving my judgements on his character until the event is over.
Playful Land gives me major Joy Joy Land vibes.
I find the idea of Leona, Trey and Vil going there, because they are worried about their juniors adorable. They are really tapping into their big brother instincts, even if I doubt Vil and Leona would ever admit it out loud.
Though, one plot hole with this whole thing is why didn't Jamil, Trey and Deuce rip up the tickets if they were that concerned about the others going to the park? Granted, the tickets could be enchanted so that they're impossible to destroy, but I never heard if that's the case yet. Idk, it's a nitpick, but it's still something that annoys me a bit as a writer myself.

I know no one watches this show, and that's really unfortunate, but I have so many thoughts about Smash that I want to share, so you all get to either hear them or ignore this post entirely. I don't really care which.
First of all, Megan Hilty is an absolute queen!! I wish her name was more well known on Broadway because wow. Her voice is so powerful and I cry every time I hear her sing don't forget me. And I actually love ivy as a character with all my heart. She's beautiful and strong and so interesting. Yeah, she's flaws and human, but she tries so hard. I was so happy when she started getting the recognition she deserved in season 2. She makes mistakes, but then she gets back up every time. I also think she had incredible potential for directing and would have like to see that explored. She just deserved better in general.
I also don't like Karen at all. Not only is she kinda boring as a character, but she's not nearly as talented as everyone seems to think. Yeah, she's pretty and has a gorgeous voice, but she's really just a so-so actress and dancer. Her songs rarely make me feel anything like Ivy's do. At the end of season 1, I only cried during her version of don't forget me because I felt Ivy's frustration so deeply. Also, Karen is kinda rude and arrogant. Like, she has no clue how theater works but acts like everyone else is constantly out to get her just because they're asking her to do something differently. She can't remember her blocking and then complains that people don't like her. And she's so sensitive. No one can tease her or even comment anything that isn't 100% positive about her without her getting upset. Furthermore, Ivy's an interesting character who makes us really care about her because of how hard she tries and fails only to get back up again. Then, they throw in her past and emotional trauma and struggles with addiction. It's really hard not to care about and root for her. Why should I care about Karen? I liked hit list only because of Jimmy, Kyle, and even Anna. Karen didn't matter at all to me because she didn't really have to struggle or fight for anything. She was kinda just along for the ride.
Third thing, Derek sucks and is super problematic, but it was nice to see him stay to grow and improve. I would've liked to see where season 3 might've taken him. I do really like his relationship with Ivy because she calls him out on stuff, and he actually listens to her. It was dumb that he never saw how truly incredible an actress she was. They would have made a great team after she really became more sure of herself and he realized how awful he was. His obsession with Karen was really weird, but I like to imagine he probably got over it by the end of season 2.
Tom and Julia were interesting, but I was actually happy to see them split at the end of everything. She always kind of took advantage of him and it bothered me. He also deserved a real relationship story, but I'm not surprised he didn't get one since he was a gay character in 2012. His relationship with Kyle was kinda creepy and Kyle should've dated either Sam or that dancer we saw him flirting with earlier in the season. Either one of those would've been less uncomfortable. Him and Sam were also never really a good match. Plus, he did Sam kinda dirty in season 2. But yeah, he should've gotten a good relationship.
I do think Sam should've gotten the lead in hit list. He deserved it, Jimmy didn't. Jimmy did a good job, obviously, but he wasn't reliable and was really uncooperative. He could've just given feedback as a writer instead of being the lead actor. I get why they did it the way they did for the TV show, but realistically, it just didn't make sense.
Kyle's death was awful. I wish we saw more of him. I think his relationship and history with Jimmy was interesting, I think it should've been explorers more instead of Jimmy and Karen, who's relationship was kinda predictable and overused. It would've been nice to see him and Jimmy sing together sometime. I wish he sang a few more songs in general because he has a really cool sound.
Jimmy and Derek also could've had a really interesting relationship if it hadn't centered around Karen as much as it did. I think they could've really helped each other. Jimmy didn't take any bullshit and Derek didn't put up with any bullshit, so they could've kept each other in line. Derek also saw something in Jimmy that few people did and I think it would've been neat to see him become a bit of a mentor.
Finally, Derek and Tom had so much potential that was never explored. Their history and their future are so unclear, but I have so many questions.
So yeah, I really did enjoy the show. It's not the most incredible show ever made, but it was fun and interesting. It's a shame it only got two seasons. I kinda blame the marketing team since so few people know it ever existed.

the dubcon felt a lot more like noncon in this one, kinda like the tower book (autocorrect flat out wont let me try to write the actual title. sigh.) and the threats felt a lot more threatening and the villains a lot more villainous. the bandits are definitely the most antagonist-y antagonists youve written aside from the cult in the risen king and our lovely wizard friend romick. mark and george are especially unpleasant (in an amusing way) and i wonder if you intentionally wrote them to be misogynistic as thats something i picked up on from them. they (sam and vanesse too but to a lesser extent) felt like they were written to be actual threatening sex criminals whose acts are considered sex crimes within the narrative/universe, once again similar to romick. angre definitely did not seem to be having a good time during the sex scenes and neither did vanesse when the goblins got her. now none of this is bad in my opinion, i actually quite enjoyed these aspects. but i do think its something people who are sensitive to that type of thing should be aware of
another thing about the story is how it handled gender and expression and all that. that was my favorite aspect of the book. i also enjoyed the world building. youve got a good eye for fantasy world building thats both fun and makes sense. i think you also do in-universe species-ism/prejudice very well too. id read a book by you thats a field guide to the world youve crafted
this is an interesting takeaway because what you're saying much more accurately describes the first draft, to the point that when i read this ask the first time, i was suddenly paranoid i had somehow uploaded that version. the second, final draft involved taking a lot of that real threat out and making it funnier, and trying to play closer to the space the chique books are in, where getting fucked by whoever catches you is a common, acceptable risk.
like the only sex in the whole thing that you could call non-consensual was vanesse and the goblins, but it's presented as a fair punishment given what she does to angre, and it's not presented as a horrible/violent violation, just an annoyance. it's a villain getting what was coming to her. tonally it's different from what people generally think when it comes to non-con, which is why i group it in with dub-con. if she would consider anyone she defeats on the road fair game, the same must be true of her. that's the nature of the world. she "consents" by playing the game, essentially.
similarly angre knew the risk he was taking and specifically goads vanesse into fucking him, so i don't know where you got the idea he didn't want the sex. he came twice. he was fine.
anyway. the question of whether i wrote georgie and markie to be misogynistic on purpose is really funny. no man it happened by accident in the book about fantasy intersectional misogyny. i didn't think about it at all.
i'm glad you liked it i'm just very "huh." about some of your takeaways lol

from the inbox, #10
I love to see new asks about post season 15 destiel fics but my answers are mostly the same, unfortunately. The usual disclaimer applies - our blog transitioned to archive in January 2018, during season 13, and our new fic recs drastically decreased.
Hello, could you recommend any plot-driven fics set post-15x20 that are a bit longer and also explore the relationship between Dean and Castiel? I'm mostly looking for something that is canon compliant (Dean dies and goes to heaven in 15x20)
Iâve answered similar asks on our previous from the inbox posts, so definitely check out those. But for the sake of convenience, here are some links - post 15x20 rec lists Happiness isnât in the Having and Good things Do Happen . These are mostly short fics, but you can always check out the authors and see if they have longer fics.Â
This is random, but do you know any fics where Dean starts dating cas because he feels bad? Something like dean dates castiel as a pity date? I've really been wanting to read something like that :pÂ
This is very random indeed! Especially if that is meant in a post 15x20 setting. I must admit Iâm drawing a blank here.Â
hi! not sure if this is the right place to ask this (if itâs not im rly sorry!) but can u rec me some destiel fics where like . dean thought they were dating all along and cas didnât? sorry if it didnât make a lot of sense! thanks Â
And this is an opposite of the previous ask!
OK, guys, since there is huge interest in post finale destiel fics, Iâm opening floor for follower recs/ self recs on this post. Please add in reblogs or notes destiel fics that fit these criteria:Â
A - longer, plot driven post 15x20 fics that explore Dean and Cas relationship
B - fics where Dean takes Cas on a pity date after Cas confessed his love in 15x18; canon verse fics are preferred but if you have some AUs, feel free to add
C - fics where Dan thought they were dating while Cas had no idea
ďźďźďźďź
We have some fic suggestions from our followersďź
A - canon verse fics dealing with 15x20
The Blood Curse by Labgeek2002 [M, 32,700 word count]
Castiel has been rescued from the Empty, but the spell used to retrieve him tears a hole in the dimensional wall that acts as barrier protecting Earth from the pull of everlasting darkness. As the Empty feeds off of Castiel's grace to sustain itself, driving him closer to death with every passing minute, Dean becomes desperate to save him. The only way to repair the damage is for Dean, Sam, and Cas to travel back in time to obtain a witch's stone that's in the possession of John Winchester, circa 2002. A twenty-three year old Dean Winchester will serve as their guide as they navigate the tumultuous father-son relationship that transcends time itself before the Empty draws its final curtain.
Beyond This Illusion by tiaevans87Â [NC-17, 161,400 word count]
âAre you serious, Dean? Your djinn-dream started with you dying?â Sam asks incredulously from the passenger seat on the way back to the bunker. âWell, technically it started with us going on a hunt,â Dean points out. He licks his lips, jaw clenching. âI mean, there was Heaven, too, and that was pretty cool.â Sam stares at him. âUnbelievable,â he breathes, scrunching his face up in distaste. When Dean glares at him, he holds his hands up defensively and chuckles weakly. âSorry, man, but that just sounds pretty lame.â He leans back and folds his arms. âIt justâŚI dunno. Kinda sounds like something Chuck would cook up. Just you and me. No one else. I mean, really?â He scoffs, slumping. *~*~* In which some people come back, Cas learns to be human (the right way, this time), Dean Winchester finally realizes that good things do happen, and they all get their version of the post-credits, apple-pie life they deserved. AKA: Screw Chuck's narrative.
B - Dean takes Cas on a pity date
On Labor by a_good_soldier [NC-17, 24,600 word count]
Cas is back from the Empty, and Dean knows how to be grateful.
because he wears cowboy boots by mmtion [NC-17, 65,300 word count]
When Cas comes back from the Empty, Dean has to rethink everything about their relationship, and Deanâs new, post-Chuck duty. He wants Cas to be happy and get what he wants. So, if he wants Dean, then he has him. Deanâs new responsibility is to be the best boyfriend Cas will ever want or need. If that means moving out of the bunker, and not driving the Impala, and letting Cas fuck him, then thatâs what he has to do. Itâs an easy deal. It should be an easy life. So how come Dean still canât quite make sense of it?
#destiel#from the inbox#su#this is kinda experiment#let's see how that goes#all recs fitting the criteria are welcome#feel free to add some thoughts#your very own mini reviews

Swap Beyond the Crystalverse Chapter 14: Outer Space AU
Co-written with @crystalninjaphoenix Read Swapboys | Read Crystalâs AUs

SBTCV Masterpost
"This is a bit of solar cloth, it's used to take power from starlight--or sunlight, I suppose," JJ says, tapping out his words on his brace. He and Alt are sitting at the table in his room. The 'solar cloth' in question is a small hankerchief-sized square that... isn't actually cloth, per se. It's made of tiny, tiny metal strings woven together, giving the copper material a shimmery effect. Just as flexible as cloth, if a bit heavier. "It's used in a lot of transportation back home, made into sails, but it's very versatile."
Alt is marveling at the tightly woven cloth, feeling it with his fingers and glitching a bit in excitement, âThatâs so fucking cool! Solar powered sails⌠on space ships??â He asks with shining eyes as he looks up at JJ.
JJ grins. "Not just ships, but a lot of surface transportation, too. There's a popular sport called sand-sailing, where you go out to the desert, stand on a hovering board with a solar cloth sail, and skim the surface of the dunes. And there are larger versions of those for mass transportation. Like... like boats for land."Â
âOhh! Sounds like something straight out of star wars-â Alt laughs.Â
The door opens, and Sam flies in. "Alt, I realized you might be hungry," they say. "Are you? We do have food here."
Alt blinks up at Sam and makes a face, touching his stomach. ââŚI⌠I guess I am kinda hungryâŚâ he says quietly.
JJ nods. "We can have lunch."Â
"Great! Do you have any allergies or strong aversions to certain tastes or textures?" Sam asks.
Alt hums, âUh- not really? Iâll eat most anything.â
"Good to know! You're probably not familiar with most of our food, though," Sam says. JJ blinks.Â
"How about something simple? Do we still have pleries?"Â
"Of course we do."Â
âA⌠plery?â Alt asks with a tilted head.Â
JJ looks over at Alt. "A plery is basically dough wrapped around meat or fruit or vegetables. Sometimes cheese. They're originally from Caphomia but the form has been adapted."Â
âOh that sounds good.â Alt grins.Â
"You can't have just that, though," Sam says.Â
"Well, bring whatever else you think we'd like, then."
Alt blinks at Sam and nods. âyeah Iâm not picky. I need food to fuel my magic so Iâll take anything usually.â
Sam shifts up and down, a nodding form. "I'll be right back, then. This shouldn't take long." They turn around and fly out again.Â
"In your time, you haven't been found by other life, right?" JJ asks. "I mean... aliens and such. This must be very confusing."
âOh yeah noâŚâ Alt says with a laugh as he crosses his arms and leans on the table. âIn our time- we still had people debating if things in the skies were UFOs or not but they never were. I think⌠we found water on mars? I dunno- donât really keep up with a lot of space stuff.â
"Oh yes water on Mars! That's what led to the settling on there," JJ says. "And if that hadn't happened, there wouldn't be humans on Olinion, Haivis, or Vara. Though... we never would have had the opportunity without the help of more advanced species like the optels--which is what Sam is."
âOptels⌠ha- cuz theyâre like⌠optic nerves,â Alt laughs a bit, âYou always hear in movies and tv shows about humans settling throughout the universe⌠crazy to actually hear parts of it! In our time- feels kinda like weâre still just⌠stuck on earth, you know?â
JJ nods slowly. "Well... once upon a time, I'm sure the oceans seemed impossible to cross. I'm not sure if your world will ever get in contact with other species, or if other species even exist there, but I'm sure you'll start exploring more. It just... will probably take a long, long time."
âAh yeah⌠guess it makes sense in that perspective,â Alt laughs. âNah we havenât found anything yet. Itâs been⌠chill. Space wise, at least.â
JJ chuckles. "Chill is better than trouble, if you ask me. Things weren't always perfect, even if things are... relatively peaceful now. Relatively. I mean, I was kidnapped, technically."Â
Alt laughs, âYeah, not exactly the definition of chill.â
The door opens again. "But apparently you could leave whenever," Sam says as they fly in. Their flying device has been connected to a floating tray via a tether of blue light.Â
On the tray are two plates of food, two smaller plates with utensils, a bowl of fruit, two cups, and a pitcher of what looks like milk.
Alt blinks at Sam coming in and looks at the food curiously. âHuh- doesnât look too futuristic.â He chuckles.Â
"Well... most of this is from alien worlds, I think," JJ says. "Unless the nuggets are chicken?"Â
"Nope. Boral nuggets," Sam says. "And the milk?"Â
"Cow milk--but I do think the cow was raised in Vara so it's sort of alien."Â
âBoral?â Alt asks.
"Birds from Artatov," JJ says. "Thick black feathers. They live in the north of the planet. They are sort of like chickens, so if you have a recipe that calls for one, you can switch it for the other. Including nuggets."Â
One of the plates has these nuggets, which don't look too different from present-day chicken nuggets, only with a darker brown breading. Another has spherical roll-like food, made of a yellowish bread. The fruit in the bowl looks like apples at first, but the pattern on the skin is off, more stripey instead of the spotty pattern apples usually get.Â
JJ moves everything to the table. He tears open one of the rolls, revealing that there are green vegetables and green cheese inside. "This is a plery," he explains. "Originally they were just filled with meat--the felorrs on Caphomia are mostly carnivorous--but you can put anything inside the plery dough."
Alt looks at all the food and hums curiously. He grabs one of the rolls and turns it over before biting into it.
The plery is like biting into a calzone, but with a bit of a tang. The vegetables inside crunch but don't seem to have too much of a taste.
âHm! Interesting-â Alt says as he digs into all the food- finding it comforting and almost familiar. But not quite.
"And these are honishe," JJ says, then picks up one of the fruit. "They're from Sessirya... and they're notable because the sysrevs who live there can't actually eat them but almost every other known species can. Ironic."Â
The fruit is a bit softer and juicier than apples, tasting like someone mixed strawberries, apples, and oranges into a smoothie.
âWoah! Thatâs really good-â Alt says after trying some. âShame the Sessiryans canât eat âem! Kinda like how humans technically eat poison when we eat spicy food huh?â He laughs.Â
"Oh you have no idea how much humans can eat that others can't," JJ says, chuckling. "Capsaicin is a big one, but also caffeine, cacao--"Â
"And all the things that are poisonous to you that you eat anyway," Sam adds.Â
"Oh yes, like alcohol and those pufferfish!"
âOh yeah!â Alt laughs, âListen man theyâre good! Sânot our fault natureâs defenses taste delicious!â
"If you say so," Sam says.Â
"Can you even taste anything, Sam?" JJ asks. "I've always wondered that."Â
"Not the way you do," Sam says.Â
The door to the room opens again and Anti pokes his head into the room. He looks back and forth between the three of them.Â
"...yes?" Sam asks.Â
"Checking to see if this is a good time to talk about the IRIS building," Anti says.
Alt looks intrigued by this but then looks at the door as Anti comes in. He shrugs, taking another bite of his food. âI donât see why not.â
Anti nods and walks fully into the room. Sam flies downwards onto the table and disconnects the tray. "Here." Anti puts a small round device onto the table, pressing a button on the side. It projects a hologram of the space station. "The Zypso Station is composed of six layers. The IRIS building is a tourist attraction on Layer Four, composed mainly of offices, near the center of the station." As Anti talks in his robotic voice, the hologram zooms into Layer Four, past tall buildings, towards the tallest building in the middle, shaped a bit like a sword. The IRIS logo in this world is an eye shape with the word IRIS in the center, curved like a bubble. Lines of blue lights go up the side.
Alt watches the hologram with starry eyes, âWoahhh-â He whispers, watching it work. Then he shakes his head and tries to focus. âRight okay uh⌠which layer are we on?â
Anti hesitates, looking at JJ. Sam lightly slaps Anti with their tail, and JJ rolls his eyes, covering his ears. "We are between two layers--Three and Two. Three is for commercial activities. Buying items and such. Two is residency. We will have to make our way into Layer Three and then into Four from there, but that will be simple enough. It will be more difficult to get into the IRIS building. It will doubtless not be in the public areas. Do you know where in the building your item is located?"
âUm.. not yet- but lemme see?â Alt says as he takes out the tracker again. The same knowledge gets beamed into his mind, with the only additional information being that it's in the upper half of the building.Â
"If you are unable to have that information, we will have to plan for all eventualities," Anti says. "We will have to get through high-security doors without being spotted by the camera system. I am recalling your teleportation ability. Do you think that could help?"
Alt frowns, âUsually we get more information once weâre closer. But it says itâs in the upper halfâŚ.â He nods to Anti. âI can glitch us past and maybe even disable the camera systems too⌠I have electric based magic.â
"Magic?" Sam repeats, surprised.Â
Alt blinks then opens up his hand and lets a collection of electric magic form a ball in his palm. He then shifts into his calico cat form in a quick glitch before popping back into his chair, casually. He grins, âMagic!âÂ
"I see. That is your abilities?" Anti nods. "Magic does not exist here. Or if it does, I am unaware of it, and so is IRIS. They will not be prepared for that specific ability. But they are armed with stun guns and EMPs of all sorts."
ââŚEMPS will be an issueâŚâ Alt grumbles, crossing his arms.
"And you will not shut down when one goes off within range," Anti says. "It will be quite dangerous. Which is why our goal will be to get in and get out without being noticed. IRIS will notice if the systems go down for too long, as well, so we will have to be fast.Â
âI wonât shut off sure but itâll disturb my powersâŚâ Alt mumbles. âBut yeah- we wanna make this as simple as possible.âÂ
âJameson..." Anti pauses. "Is there... anything you could do? If you want... to help?"Â
JJ had removed his hands a while ago. He grins. "If you want," he types.
Alt blinks at Jameson then grins too.
Anti fiddles with the holo projector, flipping through several diagrams. "This is common IRIS-style tech. Is there anything you can do to disrupt it?"Â
"Leave it with me, I can look it over later," JJ says. "For now, continue on about the building."Â
Anti nods and flicks back to the diagram of the IRIS building. "The upper floors are pretty much closed to the public. Except for roof access, where tourists can get a view of Layer Four. We could work our way up from the bottom or down from the viewing platform. Either way, we will need to disrupt the scanners at the front entrance. They will definitely detect me."Â
Alt nods in agreement, âAlright- sounds simple enough. I should be able to do that.â
Anti nods. "Now as for your brother. We will probably need to find him as well, I'm assuming? Does he have magic as well?"Â
"So bizarre to hear that question," JJ says.Â
Then Alt's phone starts to chime again.
Alt opens his mouth to answer then blinks and takes out his phone, âAnti?â He asks.
"Yes?" says the robotic Anti.Â
"Yep," says the Anti in the phone. "Or, partially. I just wanted to let you know that your brother is on the way. Along with the four others from this world."Â
âOh! He found the others then?â Alt asks. âGlad heâs not in trouble thenâŚâÂ
Sam flies forward. "Why is there a screen assistant in your phone who looks like Anti?"Â
Alt blinks at Sam, âOh heâs not a screen assistant- heâs our friend. Heâs another Anti from a universe separate from ours. Heâs been helping us.â Alt explains.
"Another me?" the robotic Anti repeats, looking confused.Â
JJ nods. "Of course, if you travel through worlds it makes sense you would've picked someone up along the way." Anti shakes his head. "What did he mean, there are others on the way? They will be seen!"Â
"Nope, I'm taking them through a path with blank spots in the camera systems," Anti in the phone says.Â
Anti's expression shifts to fear. "You found the path?! And--and strangers are coming this way?! Five of them, you said--how do you know they won't be followed?!"Â
"I'm keeping an eye on them," Anti in the phone assures him. "I can be in two places at once."Â
The robotic Anti does not look reassured, his expression stuck on fear.Â
Alt looks to robotic Anti, âHe can he trusted- heâs just as paranoid as you are. He will make sure they get here without IRIS noticing.â
One of Anti's green irises flickers. His expression still doesn't change.Â
Sam flies over and puts their tail on Anti's shoulder reassuringly. "They won't find us," they say, removing their tail again to type.Â
Anti stands up abruptly. "I am going to go do some work in the studio before we go. Feel free to look over the diagram at your will." And he turns around, leaving.Â
JJ stares. Then he sighs. "I suppose I can't blame him for the paranoia."
Alt watches him go and sighs, ââŚI get it. Iâd⌠Iâm usually paranoid about stuff like that too. Especially when it comes to companies like IRISâŚâ He looks at Sam and Jj though and raises his eyes, ââŚdo you all know why heâs.. like this with IRIS?â
JJ shakes his head. "I think there's more to it than this, but I know that him being an android is a part of it. Especially one so... alive." He pauses. "The creation of true artificial intelligence has been outlawed for centuries. If a robotic being is installed with AI, they must be programmed to follow all orders as their highest priority. That is called false AI. Obviously, Anti does not do that. As an android with true AI, his existence is illegal."
âOh⌠well⌠yeah I guess thats enough to make anyone paranoidâŚâ Alt mutters.
Sam flicks their tail, seeming somehow hesitant. "Want to look at the IRIS tech diagram some more?"Â
"Yes, that would be great. Then I can start putting things together." JJ reaches out and starts looking through the diagrams on the holo projector.
Alt scoots up to look with JJ, but- his eyes wander to look back at the door. âŚis he actually worried for his other self? He hasnât exactly been⌠the most hospitable.
Sam flies down as well. "I'll look too. Anything I can do to help? I'm not familiar with Olinion stuff, obviously."Â
JJ smiles. "Advice would be appreciated," he types. "Let's see what we can do."Â
-----------Â
"I didn't know we could go this far down," Chase mutters. "Is this safe? What even is this?"Â
"For maintenance, I suppose," Schneep says.Â
Anti led them on a winding path down to the ground level of this layer, and then to a maintenance hatch in the floor that he said he unlocked earlier. From there, they've gone down, down, into winding tunnels, many of them blocked off by hidden entrances. The area they're in now is a gradual downward slope, metal hallways lined with tubes and ducts and bundles of wires. Clearly this area is not meant to be seen by the public. It might not be meant for people to walk through at all, with the irregular shape of the tunnel. The guys are taking this walk with varying degrees of ease. Marvin seems to be handling himself the best, quietly slipping through the small space. Schneep is lagging behind a bit, occasionally tripping over things. Jackie lingers back to keep an eye on him.
Bro feels a bit cramped in this small space, brushing aside wires and grumbling a bit. âYou said this other you lives down here? How can anyone live down hereâŚ?â He mutters.
"Very carefully," Anti says from the phone screen. "Sorry to leave you on your own by the way. I could manifest, but I think it's best I don't add another person to this small space."Â
"It's like some sort of... of secret lair," Jackie says in a hushed voice, then giggling a little.Â
"Still, it's pretty uncomfortable," Chase says. "Why go through so much trouble to stay away from IRIS?"Â
"You wouldn't do it without a good reason," Marvin mumbles.
âI mean⌠I can get it if itâs IRIS.â Bro says quietly, âin other universes⌠those guys have really hurt my friends.â His eyes burn bright blue in anger as he thinks about this- what they tried to do to Schneep⌠what JJ said happened to him. âI donât trust them- not one bit.â
Chase frowns. "Brave thing to say while you're on a space station mostly built by them."Â
"Crawling in between their walls, too," Jackie adds.Â
"I understand what he's saying, though," Schneep says. "IRIS has always seemed... strange to me. In ways I cannot put a name to. Just a faint feeling of unease. Perhaps it is a difference of cultures."Â
The ceiling is slowly getting lower as they go on.
âWell I didnât exactly chose to come here you know,â Bro chuckles, âAnd even if I donât trust em- IRIS doesnât scare me! Iâm sure theyâre something me and Alt can handle- even more so with good friends helping us!â He smiles at the others.
"We'll do everything we can," Marvin promises.Â
"I mean... not sure how much we can do, but we'll try," Chase says. "Do you guys think we should wear masks or something?"Â
"For what?" Schneep asks.
Jackie gasps. "Yes! We should totally wear masks!"Â
"For what?" Schneep repeats.Â
"I'm not sure. Just... the thing is in the IRIS building, right? If it's in a part closed to the publice, we'll have to break in or something."Â
âMost likely- maybe the other Anti will have some! I already have one~â Bro grins, digging out his pink mask and putting it on, his hair flaring to yellow-green. âSee? Hero mode~!â
"Oh that's so cool!" Jackie gasps.
"Your love of old comics stuff is really coming out on this wild trip, isn't it?" Chase laughs.Â
Bro grins, âha! Just like my Jackie! He loves comics! Especially superheroes.â
Chase thinks. "Yeah... I should have a mask, if possible. I am a bit of a public figure. Did you guys have streamers in your time, other-me? Or did that really start to get popular later?"
Bro nods to Chase, âYeah actually I help my Jackie with his streams sometimes- he does more long form videos though. I bet streaming is way different now than it was for us though!â
Chase grins. "Ah, well, not much has changed, I think. The culture of it, I guess, changes really fast, but I can't imagine the actual process has changed that much. I have a room for streaming, I play games of all sorts on camera, I have mods who help keep chat orderly. I guess in your time you didn't have to worry about the connection issues streaming to other planets."
âOh yeah no we had enough trouble streaming across our own planet!â Bro laughs.
In the distance, at the end of the tunnel, something flickers. A bit of light, very hard to catch. Was that his imagination?Â
Bro blinks and tries to focus up ahead, ââŚdid you guys see that?â
"Hmm?" Chase blinks. "See what?"Â
Marvin crouches low to the ground. His eyes dilate wide. "There's something moving down there," he whispers.Â
"What? What's moving?" Schneep whispers back.Â
"I think it's our size."Â
"Ah. I think that's safe," Anti says from Bro's phone.
âOh- well if Anti says itâs safe then itâs fine!â Bro grins as he hurries forward.
"Well still be careful--" Anti says.Â
âIâll be careful!â Bro calls.Â
Bro reaches the end of the tunnel, which seems to just... end. But there's slight movement in the wires to the left... and more flickers of green light. Two of them.Â
He blinks at the slight movement and moves to look closer at the wires. ââŚhello?â
After a second, a metal hand reaches out and pushes aside some of the wires. "Are you... Alt's brother?" asks a voice--familiar, but computerized.Â
"Holy fucking pasta!" Chase jumps at the sound of it.
Bro yells a bit in surprise then blinks rapidly, âYes! Yes I am! âŚIâm Chase-â
"I didn't know you left," says Anti on the phone screen.Â
The robotic man's green eyes flicker as he looks down. "Oh. So you really can be in two places at once."Â
"You said something about going into the studio?" Anti persists.Â
"I did go there. Then I left." The man pushes the wires aside, revealing that he's standing in a hidden branch off the tunnel, and also showing his appearance for the first time.Â
The other four crowd around Bro.Â
Marvin blinks. "A... cyborg?"Â
"Nooooo," Jackie says, eyes wide. "I think this is a robot."Â
"No," the robotic man snaps. "I am an android."Â
"You're a fucking what?!" Chase gasps.
Bro looks between the group and the robotic man, blinking in confusion. â⌠whatâs the difference? I mean- a robot I get. ButâŚâ
"Robots cannot think," the man states. "Robots are not alive."Â
"Androids also haven't been made in a couple centuries, because the GC thought they'd be too dangerous," Jackie adds.
All four of the others are looking at the man warily.Â
"Who... are you?" Schneep asks hesitantly.Â
"Anti."
âOhhh- huh⌠why did they think they were dangerous?â Bro asks. He doesnât seem very troubled by any of this. He brightens as he says his name. âoh! Youâre this worldâs Anti! That makes sense!â He grins.
"Well--because androids are strong and they don't feel pain--unless you want to program that into one, but why the fuck would you do that--" Chase says.Â
"I am incapable of hurting any of you," Anti interrupts. "That is my second core program. I would only be able to break it if it got in the way of my first core program."Â
Schneep tilts his head. "What is your first core?"Â
"Self-preservation."Â
âOhhh I think Alt said thatâs like- a robotic law or some shit.â Bro says nodding.Â
Anti looks at Bro. "Makes sense, you say?"
Bro looks back at Anti and shrugs, âYou kinda look like Alt! Also must of the Antis we met are based around tech so!â He grins, âItâs nice to meet ya-! you know where my brother is, right?â
"I see." Anti nods back. "Nice to... meet you... too." His face shifts into a smile for a moment before falling back into that same neutral expression. Pleasantries must be difficult for him. "Yes, I can take you the rest of the way. Follow me." He turns and disappears down the narrow tunnel he'd apparently come from. The low ceiling forces him to crouch.Â
"We're sure about this?" Chase mutters.Â
"Androids cannot lie," Schneep says. "Or break their word. They still have computers for brains, and computers cannot deceive people."Â
"Unless they're really poorly programmed," Marvin adds.Â
"Yes, but I think if someone goes to the effort of making an android, they are going to program them well, yes?"
âHe seems fine to me!â Bro says brightly, âIf an Anti isnât immediately creepy or out to kill us, theyâre good in my book!â Bro follows after him, crouching down through the tunnel. The four others exchange alarmed looks upon hearing other Antis have tried to kill Bro, but then follow as well.Â
The tunnel gets really uncomfortably cramped, but luckly, they're not walking for long. Anti crouches down close to the ground and grabs a handle sticking out of all the bits and bobs on the floor, lifting up a square and pushing it aside. Light spills from the opening. He then drops through.
Bro blinks a bit in confusion but then shrugs and drops down too, expertly landing on his feet like a superhero would.
He lands in a + shaped intersection of metal corridors, each ending in a round door that slides up into the ceiling. After a moment of hushed debating, Marvin jumps down after Bro, landing on his feet. Then Jackie lands, then, Chase, and finally Schneep, who stumbles a bit but has Jackie catch him.Â
Bro looks around the space and whistles, âDamn! This is very future-y! They even got those slidey door things!â
A door slides open, and Sam flies out. "Why didn't you say you were leaving?!" they type at Anti.Â
Chase gasps. "Oh my god! That's--you're an optel!"
Hearing that familiar voice, Alt glitches out into the hall, eyes wide. He relaxes as soon as he sees Bro. âChase!âÂ
âAlt!â Bro says happily, throwing his hands into the air. He rushes over to Alt and pulls him into a big bear hug that lifts him off the floor.Â
Alt squirms a little and pushes at him. âWhere the hell were you??â Alt grumbles.Â
âMeeting the others!â Bro says, dropping Alt down and gesturing out, âGuys! This is my little brother Alt! Alt, this is Marvin, Jackie, Schneep and other me!âÂ
Altâs eyes widen as he sees the others- especially Schneep and Marvin. âO-Oh my godâŚ! Youâre ⌠aliens- like for real!âÂ
âCrazy, right?â Bro laughs.
Sam quickly turns to Alt and drops something in his hand. A crescent-shaped object. "Put that translator on really fast," they say, then fly back to Anti. Alt blinks and Bro gestures to his own and Alt quickly puts it on.Â
"Yep, aliens!" Jackie says cheerfully, waving a metal hand at Alt. "Nice to meet you!"Â
"I will point out you must have been spending time with an alien this whole time," Schneep says, pointing at Sam, who seems to be having an intense staring contest with Anti.Â
"It's different when they look closer to you, I think," Marvin says. "And other-Chase also mentioned we're all friends in their home world. So we're probably human there."Â
"We are?!" Schneep blinks. "I suppose that makes sense, but I cannot imagine being human. Can you picture me with warm blood?"Â
"Depends. Can you picture me with flat feet like all the rest of you?"Â
Schneep laughs, a sound that has a bit of a hiss on the end.Â
âWell I mean- Iâm used to seeing things like Sam. Theyâre just more.. hi-tech here. But I havenât seen anything like you guys before!â Alt says. He glitches closer, his eyes sparkling with fascination. He looks to Schneep, âAre you implying that youâre cold blooded? Like a reptile? And Marvin youâre -! Youâre a cat person!â He glitches a bit more in excitement. âthatâs so cool!âÂ
"Not quite a reptile, I believe the classification is reshkaz, but a reptile is the closest thing on Terra," Schneep says.Â
Marvin blinks, ears perking up. "Thank you! Your, um--glitchy thing is cool too."Â
Alt grins sheepishly, âthanksâŚâ
JJ walks out of the room behind Alt.Â
"Oh! Hey!" Chase raises a hand and waves. "Guys, that's JJ! Nice to see you again! Sorry it's been a while... Guess I kinda missed you disappearing."Â
JJ smiles back. "No, that's fine," he types. "I'm sure you were busy."Â
Bro looks at Jj entering and grins. âHi J! Iâm Chase! Or you all can call me Bro~!â He grins.
Chase blinks. "Dude... is your voice mod set to Marvelan English?"Â
Sighing, JJ turns a dial. "I set it to that for Alt."Â
"Why d'you even have that setting in the first place?"Â
"I think it's fun to sound fancy."
Alt blinks, ââŚwe sound fancy?â He looks at Bro who shrugs, âApparently- the way we speak is like⌠hearing all the pirates talk all fancy in the last world, I think.âÂ
Alt frowns. ââŚthatâs so weird-â
JJ waves at Bro. "Nice to see you. Alt has mentioned you. I love your outfit! It's like an old superhero movie."Â
âThanks dude! This isnât even my real hero outfit though- thatâs a superhero costume!â Bro grins.Â
"Weird thing that the further you go back in history, the fancier people seem to talk," Jackie says. "Don't even get me started on Shakespeare. I can barely understand it sometimes. I need one of those side-by-side translations."Â
Bro laughs as Jackie, âI needed one of those in secondary school! Guess Shakespeare is too fancy for both of us!âÂ
"Well, I guess fancy is relative, since they don't think they sound that way," Chase says.Â
Anti and Sam join the group again. "Do you all... need anything?" Anti asks. "We do have food here."
Bro blinks at Sam and Anti then waves his hand, âNah we just ate!âÂ
ââŚyou went out to eat?!â Alt asks Bro with narrowed eyes. âWhile you had no idea where I was?!âÂ
ââŚwe brought you dessertâŚ.?â
âHey I mean⌠as far as we knew you were with JJ, and his shop wasnât too far away from where we were meeting,â Chase says. âAnd if you live on a planet that doesnât have alien contact, how often are you going to eat alien food?âÂ
âSorry, though,â Jackie says sheepishly. âI guess we got caught up in the excitement of having someone from the past there.âÂ
Marvin reaches into the bag heâs carrying and takes out the takeout box as Bro mentions dessert.
Alt makes a face then sighs, âYeah I guess thatâs fairâŚâ he blinks at Marvin and glitches over to look at the takeout box. His eyes sparkle, ââŚis that chocolateâŚ?âÂ
Bro hides a laugh.
âYep!â Jackie says. âThese are something called a yessyir, theyâre a traditional dessert from Sessirya. The chocolate is a relatively new addition, since it doesnât grow on that planet. Usually theyâre more like that purple one there.âÂ
âWhere did you guys go?â JJ asks, raising an eyebrow.Â
âThis place called Kissarsoâs, itâs very good,â Chase says.Â
âOh that place is in the Gateway isnât it? Iâve thought about trying someplace like that.â
âIt was really good!â Bro says brightly.Â
Alt studies the desserts some more before grabbing the box from Marvin and looking back at Bro, ââŚI guess youâre forgiven then-â He then starts to head back to the room they were in, âWe should discuss the plans for getting into IRIS now that everyone is here- câmon.â
"Right, right." Chase nods, then laughs. "I can't believe we're gonna fucking break into the IRIS building."Â
The group all files into JJ's room. There aren't enough chairs at the table for everyone--not nearly--so the group ends up standing around. Schneep looks around. "Is this where you have been staying? There is no bed."Â
"Panel on the wall rolls up to form a cabinet bed," JJ says.Â
"Oh pog!" Marvin says, getting surprisingly excited. "Those are the best beds!"Â
JJ laughs silently.Â
Sam flies down to the holo projector and turns it onto the IRIS building diagram. Around it are a couple devices and metal parts, all coppery and golden.
âOh! Neat room!â Bro says then gasps as he sees the holo projector and bends down to look at it better. âYooo!! This is sick!! âŚwhatâs all these parts for though?â
"I was making things to help us," JJ says. "But even before that, Anti and Sam were kind enough to give me things to work with. It gets really boring stuck in here."Â
"What sort of things to help us?" Jackie asks, intrigued.Â
"Something to deactivate electronic seals on doors, and something to set off a loud sound in case we need a distraction. I'm open to more suggestions, too."Â
âOhh woah! Thatâs so cool!!â Bro grins. âThose sounds brilliant-âÂ
"I will tell you all what I told these three," Anti says. "Your part is likely in a part of the building closed to the public. We could get in from the bottom or in from the roof access, which are both open to the public but still have scanners for safety."
Bro blinks at Anti then hums, âAlt can get us probably to the roof if need be- or I could but I think people would notice someone who can fly.â He laughs.Â
âThen we gotta get the scanners down to get inside.â Alt adds.
"Well, you can get to the roof from inside the building," Chase says. "There's a public elevator. It can only access the first couple floors and the roof."Â
"Have you been to the building before, Chase?" Schneep asks.Â
"Yeah, when I first moved here. It was a while ago but I remember that elevator."Â
"Either way, Alt is right, we have to get the scanners down," Jackie says. "We don't want them to take away JJ's devices. Or, uh... Anti, I guess?"Â
Anti nods.Â
"I will be staying back and advising you with the building diagram," Sam says. "I have a line directly into Anti's head."Â
"Sounds creepy when you say it like that," Chase mutters. "But anyways. Scanners? JJ, can you help with that?"Â
JJ shakes his head. "There will probably be a lot of people at the public entrance. We don't want to cause a scene.
âI can probably take them down,â Alt says, pulling out a yessyir and taking a bite before continuing, âI have electric magic so i can short circuit them.â
The yessir has a texture like a slightly more solid pudding, with the disk at the bottom being solid chocolate. Besides the chocolate taste, the main flavor is a strange sweet one, light like a fruit of some sort but not recognizable as anything on Earth. Alt blinks in surprise at the texture and taste of the yessyir. Itâs⌠really good though so he finishes it off quickly.
"Magic, yes, I forget," Schneep says. "...Magic. Is real. Where you come from." He blinks, looking a bit overwhelmed by that.
"I'm sure IRIS would notice if the scanners short circuited for too long," Marvin says. "So we should be quick."Â
"Can you do the same with the camera systems, Alt?" JJ asks.
Alt nods to JJ, âMost likely! Since they wonât know to expect magic like mine- I think we should be good.â He smiles.
"And... do we know where in the building your piece is?" Marvin asks.Â
"I believe Alt said their trackers give more detail as they get closer," Anti says.
âYeah⌠all I know right now is itâs in the upper parts.â Alt says with a shrug.
"So we will have to improvise?" Schneep says. "Is that... a good idea?"Â
"It's our only option, I guess," Chase says.Â
The four guys don't look so confident.Â
"Come on, you all, this is important," JJ says. "Do we want IRIS to get their hands on something that belongs to these two?"
âLuckily this one piece shouldnât give them like⌠too much power,â Bro says, âbut we need it to fix our own machine.âÂ
âDonât worry, me and Chase are pretty good at thinking fast on our feet,â Alt says confidently.
"Alright... we'll help where we can!" Jackie says, putting on a smile. "Not sure what we can do, though."Â
"Distraction, perhaps?" Schneep says. "Or lookouts?"
â⌠wait- do none of you guys have like⌠powers or anything?â Bro asks, ânot even like- alien powers??âÂ
âChase donât be rude-â Alt hits him slightly.Â
âItâs a valid question!âÂ
Alt looks at the others and smiles, âweâll be grateful for any help.â
"Well... I am pretty fast and have a tight grip," Jackie says, opening and closing his hands. "I'm also about three inches taller than I was before the accident! They asked me if I wanted to be taller when getting the cybernetics and I was like 'yeah' and so they just did that."Â
ââŚthatâs why you got robotic stuff?? Cuz you were in an accident??â Bro asks Jackie, bewildered.Â
Jackie nods. "Long story. Basically, vehicle accident. I passed out so I don't remember most of it. But it was a while ago. And I like customizing my hands and stuff!" He opens and closes his hands a couple more times.Â
âOh⌠well- at least you can look at the bright side of things now!â Bro says.Â
Chase chuckles. Then he looks at Schneep and Marvin. "Well? Do aliens have special powers?"Â
"...no??" Schneep says, confused. "What do you even mean by that?"Â
"Well, in comparison to humans, felorrs like me are a lot quieter, and more flexible," Marvin says. "IRIS is a Terra company, they're probably expecting human abilities to be the default. So, Schneep, what are kritzeins like compared to humans?"Â
"Nothing all that useful for breaking into a building!" Schneep says defensively. "It is small things, like being immune to many diseases and enduring higher temperatures. I--well I suppose for me personally I am a doctor? So if anyone gets hurt I can help?"
Alt shakes his head, âyou all are doing more than enough for us- and if you feel like this is too much, we understand.â
"Well, we've come this far, might as well go all the way," Chase says, shrugging.Â
Schneep nods. "It is as Chase says."Â
"When are we planning on doing this?" Marvin asks.Â
"I am assuming that the sooner, the better," Anti says.
Alt stretches and glitches to his feet, grabbing and slinging on his backpack, âI can get us to the building right now if everyone is ready.â
"Huh?" Chase blinks. "What do you mean? We're like... a whole layer and a half away."Â
"Alt has a teleportation ability," JJ says.Â
"Oh!" Chase's eyes widen. "Pog!"Â
"No, we cannot just appear right outside the building," Anti says. "We have to appear in a blind spot for the cameras."Â
"Have one in mind?" Sam asks.Â
"Yes. I also need to change clothes into something more covering."Â
"Riiiight." Jackie nods. "You might be able to excuse a couple metal bits as cybernetics, but uh... right now it's pretty clear that you're all metal."Â
"I will go do that now," Anti says. "We can leave as soon as I return." He heads out of the room.Â
Alt nods, âAlright.âÂ
JJ gathers up the two devices. "Who wants to carry these? I don't have a bag."
Bro blinks as looks at his utility belt, âuh- I bet me or Alt could hold them?â
"Oh, they'd probably fit on your belt there! I made sure to include clips. That works out." JJ hands them over to him, then makes sure his monocle is secured.Â
Bro grins and puts the devices on his belt and gives JJ a thumbs up, âAwesome!âÂ
"You can really teleport?" Marvin asks, pupils wide and dilated in awe.
Alt blinks then grins, quickly glitching around the room before appearing back in his spot and putting his hands in his pockets. âYup~! I call it glitching-â
"Because it looks like computer glitches!" Marvin says excitedly, tail really waving in the air behind him.Â
"That's so awesome!" Chase shouts, laughing. "You're both like superheroes!"Â
Jackie says, grinning. "That's so pog!"
Alt and Bro exchange glances before Bro laughs, âYeah I guess so! Alt helps me a lot in my hero duties now-âÂ
Alt plays with his mask and shrugs, ââŚI dunno if heroing is⌠for me though but⌠I do like- using my magic for good. Helping people⌠itâs⌠nice.â His cheeks are red.
Jackie smiles at Alt. "Well I'm sure you're great at it! You seem cool!"Â
Alt smiles shyly at Jackie and then hides a bit in his mask.Â
Anti returns, wearing a different outfit. Still black, but now it covers everything except for his hands--even his neck. It's very cyberpunk looking. He also has a set of mirrored sunglasses on his head, which he pulls down over his eyes. "Ready to proceed. And I also got these." He puts some black, shimmery fabric on the table.Â
Chase reaches out, sorting through them. "Face masks?"Â
"They are designed to scramble your faces on most cameras," Anti says. "Most. I cannot guarantee that all cameras were blocked, as there had to be some exceptions made or else I wouldn't be able to identify you."
Bro blinks at Anti then grins, âyooo! Looking Pog my dude~!â He looks down at the masks, âoooh neat!â
"'My dude'--haven't heard that phrase in a while," Chase says, laughing. He takes one of the masks, turning it over a bit to figure out how it would fit, and then puts it on, hiding the lower half of his face.Â
"We're not going to stand out that much, are we?" Marvin asks.Â
"Nah, human fashion has included masks for a long time," Chase says. "You must've noticed."Â
"Why is that?" Schneep asks, interested.Â
"Not sure. I think they started as some sort of utility thing but then people thought they looked cool."
âIt was to prevent sickness for a while,â Bro says, picking one up and putting it on, taking off his hero mask, âit was a popular trend in Japan. Just spread to other countries.âÂ
âI think they look cool, obviously.â Alt says, flicking his own.
"It's something about the mystery of it all," Jackie says, taking one as well.Â
"Doesn't exactly go with my style, though," JJ says.Â
"Would you rather have your face recorded on camera?" Anti asks.Â
"I wasn't saying that." JJ takes a mask as well.Â
"Why do you have these, anyway?" Schneep asks as he takes one too.Â
"Precaution," Anti says slowly. "In any case. Ready to proceed when you all are."
Alt pulls up his mask and nods, âWe just need to link up- and Anti you just need to visualize where you want us to appear at.âÂ
Bro goes to take Altâs hand and they both offer out their hands to the others.
"Okay. This will probably be really weird, but let's do it!" Jackie grins as he takes Bro's hand.Â
"There's a lot of us, are you sure you will be fine?" Schneep asks, taking Jackie's hand in turn.Â
"I'm sure it will be," JJ says. "We won't be going too far, really. Not like we're teleporting down to Terra." He takes Alt's hand once he's finished typing. Everyone else links up from there.Â
âYeah itâs no big- Iâm all fueled up,â Alt grins, his eyes sparking green blue. ââŚthe yessyir helped a lot.â Bro laughs.Â
"Visualizing clear," Anti says.Â
"Androids are probably very good at visualizing, aren't they?" Chase chuckles.
Once they get the confirmation, Alt closes his eyes and they all glitch towards the spot near IRIS. Sam waves goodbye as they all disappear.Â
#SBTCV#swap beyond the crystalverse#SBTCV outer space#outer space au#everyone gets to meet!! and plans to get to IRIS!!#writing bro and alt being siblings is my fav gajhbka their whole dessert thing still makes me laugh XD

2, 9, 13 + both An Expected Encounter and Sinking Heart, please? It's been a while since I've come across an ask game đ
 [Ask Game]
Ayyy thanks for this đđđ itâs been a while since Iâve gotten asks for fic related stuff đ
An Expected Encounter:
2 - what scene did you first put down?
~ I wasnât much of a jump-from-one-scene-to-another type of writer at the time that I wrote this, and since the fic is really only one scene, I kinda just wrote it all in an evening đ
9 - were there any alternative versions of this fic?
~ Not necessarily an âalternativeâ version but I did (and still do) plan on expanding on Samâs dealings with Murdock (and the rest of the Pentas Family đ) a little bit, specifically with how they teamed up against the alien meat dealers to get revenge on them. I think I sort of considered adding that to the original fic but ended up not doing that bc I wanted to save it for later.
13 - what music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didnât listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading?
~ Iâm not much of a music person when writing, and I canât think of any songs that directly inspired this/got me in the mood to write it. I also canât really think of any songs that would pair well with the fic except for *maybe* Mx Sinister from I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME - which I admittedly havenât listened to all the way through but it kinda gives off the same vibes as the fic to me đ
Sinking Heart:
2 - what scene did you first put down?
~ This was still at a time when I didnât jump around much between scenes, so the first scene I wrote is the first one in the fic đ
9 - were there any alternative versions of this fic?
~ I was originally gonna include more stuff with the monster (aka Frank) and possibly some bits with Lucasâ death and the Rookie and Crumbs on the island (like in the secret ending of the game) but I changed my mind bc I thought a softer ending was more what I was shooting for. But thatâs not to say there wonât be a Sinking Heart sequel at some point đ
13 - what music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didnât listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading?
~ again, not really much of a music person with writing, BUT the Sinking Iron soundtrack would be the perfect thing to listen to while reading this fic đ

Question: I just started watching Supernatural with - my brothers got me watching Supernatural from its first season onwards. And when he heard that I was finally going to a Supernatural convention he even gave me a Supernatural necklace replica just like Sam and Dean on the show. And I just - one of the things that we both love about the show is that you both give very convincingly throughout the entirety of the show - always, you know, portrayed brothers in a believable way and an inspiring way? And you managed to go the distance over fifteen seasons and even in the last season you're still completely believable as brothers. And meeting you in real life, you seem that way offscreen as well. I'm wondering about, my question is, what is the secret that's kept you managing to do that over such a long period of time in a show? Because you hear in other shows people not getting along, getting tired of each other, but you did it all the way through, and I just wonder what is the secret to that?
Jared: Goddamn, thank you. I love that question. That's possibly a version of my favorite question that could ever be asked about Supernatural. I think - and you're talking about you have two brothers?
Question: Well, I have a brother and a half-brother.
Jared: Okay, okay.
Question: My real brother [?] is a Supernatural fan, so.
Jared: I think - all I can say is - well, not all I can say. The main thing I can say, is that whatever you see on camera? Though Jensen and I were playing Sam and Dean Winchester? Jensen and I weren't faking shit. It was real to us, and it was and still is an amazing life lesson, that you get out of something what you put into it. You know? If you half-ass something, whether it's a friendship or a marriage or a profession or a diet or an exercise regime? You're gonna get half-ass results. If you just kind of go, fuck it, I'm all in and if I get hurt, I get hurt and I'll abandon ship and do something else. But he and I went all in, like I think sometime during the Pilot, and I wish I - maybe I can think about it, about when that moment happened? But I think Jensen and I both just went like [snaps fingers] you know what, this is found family - could be found family. Maybe Jensen turns out to be an asshole, maybe I turn out to be an asshole. And if that happens, then I can reverse and put my guards back up and be like [makes pushing away gesture] okay, this guy's a jerk, or vice versa, he can say this guy's a jerk about me. But he and I both just kinda went alright, I'm gonna trust you and he went, alright I'm gonna trust you. We didn't say the words, but we just kinda had that communication nonverbal and went after it. And I to this day love the guy like a brother and, you know, there are ups and downs, you know? Someone goes through something in their life and I'll speak to myself, sometimes when I'm super stressed out, I can be a little hurt, a little, maybe, caustic? A little snarky or sarcastic or something? And your buddies around you - my buddies around me, rather, kinda have to be like, 'Hey, you're kinda being a dickhead, man. Like, you alright?' And I have to go, 'No, I'm not alright, I'm going through this -' But like having that trust? And I think Jensen and I found that, I know Jensen and I found that with Supernatural, with Sam and Dean. And I love their relationship, like I want that for my two sons. I don't want the rebar, but [audience laughs]. I want them to just rely on each other. I heard a great quote, and maybe there are some parents out there as well, or people who have parents? Which I think is most of us in my understanding of - anyways. It was a quote, I'm gonna bastardize it, "Parents leave us too soon, children - we're not around long enough for our children, siblings are the ones we go through life with." And I think siblings can mean anything. If you're an only child, it's your friend, it's your buddy - like you need a partner, you need two people in that rowboat. It doesn't need to be somebody who's there every day, but like somebody you can just go, like, hey I'm feeling like this. Not agree with all the time, like, life is not about agreement, otherwise why go through life if you're not gonna learn, if everything you say is right. So I think we just trusted each other, and I don't know why, but, you know, we held each other's careers in each other's hands. And we're like, alright, I got you, you got me? Yeah, I got you, you got me? Yeah, alright. Let's work it and get it to work. But I love that you and your one and a half siblings, two-ish, I'm assuming, put you here today. So thanks a bunch, it was nice to meet you, man.

Superman & Lois (Season 4) - Thoughts & Review
Well. It is hard to say goodbye to this show. Genuinely, I have not been this attached to something in years. So here is my final review for the show's final season.
Which, I am sorry to say, was an incredibly mixed bag for me. As usual with this show, there were many excellent ideas marred by some terrible pacing... but also just some silly ideas that never quite came to fruition. But enough of the season works that it's a fairly solid ending, and it solidifies that this is the best onscreen version of Clark Kent there's ever been.
Full spoilers under the cut.
What I Liked
Clark's death in the first episode hits hard. It's brutal, and shockingly dark. It sets the stakes for a much more intense season than anything that's come before.
The performances are stellar, especially from the core cast of Kents. Each of them gets at least one scene to really show their stuff, and it's excellent.
Sam's sacrifice to bring Clark back is perfect. 10/10, no notes. It's a fantastic ending to his character, and probably gives him the single most satisfying and cohesive arc across the entire show.
I also just like Clark coming back to life with a human heart, and being weaker as a result. His resurrection has tangible consequences, and affects him forever going forward, so it doesn't feel cheap. It also ties in nicely with Lois' cancer arc from last season.
Frankly, Clark just has such a good overall arc this season that it makes me more willing to overlook some of the show's other glaring flaws. He has to adjust to being weaker. He has to learn to let his sons help him, and stop trying to overprotect them. He has to let go of his secret identity when he realizes it's doing more harm than good. Truly, genuinely, the best live-action Clark, and it is not even close for me anymore.
Jordan also has a great character arc this season. His failure to bring Clark back finally leads him to accept that he isn't truly ready to be a hero, and he willingly gives up his suit for a while. But it all comes back full circle when he helps the scared woman in the diner -- not for the attention or the glory, but because he empathizes with her. Knowing how much it took for him to reach that point makes it so damn satisfying.
Kyle and Clark develop a weirdly cute friendship this season that I kinda wanted to see more of.
Episode 7 is this season's standout -- "A Regular Guy," when Clark makes the decision to drop his secret identity. I thought they might take the season this direction, and was worried about it, and I have never been happier to be proven so wrong. The decision is incredibly well-motivated, built up to naturally, and has long-lasting consequences. It's a really, really solid direction to take this last season.
The Clark and Lex street brawl in Episode 6 was also a damn good scene, even if the setup was contrived as hell.
I love the finale revealing that Clark has switched his focus away from physically saving people from danger and more to using his voice to address systemic problems in the world. That is such a good direction for his character.
What I'm Mixed On
The finale did one of my TV show pet peeves -- explaining every last detail of the characters' lives, instead of leaving things to the imagination. Like, do we have to see the twins' wives? And all 9000 of their children? Really?
What I Didn't Like
The pacing for this season is abysmal, by far the worst of any season. Clark comes back so fast that his death ultimately holds no real weight -- there's no time for the characters to truly mourn him. The twins training to help Clark fight is all crammed in the last few episodes, when it should have begun way sooner. The episode with Lex's daughter goes nowhere and is just a waste of an hour that could've been better spent on something else. The reduced episode count is definitely a factor here, but I still think the writers could have restructured things to better fit into the runtime that they had.
The lack of supporting cast is noticeable and frankly distracting. Having everyone besides the Kents be on a revolving door feels odd. Important characters are just missing for some really major scenes -- John Henry isn't there to help track down Doomsday, Lana isn't there to react to Clark's return or to him revealing his identity, Chrissy isn't there for important moments at the Gazette. And while I do appreciate the laser focus on the Kents this season, it comes at the expense of them not having other characters to interact with. Smallville just feels a bit empty without the rest of the cast.
I wish they'd reworked things a bit to include more of the cast in the first few episodes, then gradually write them out more organically. I think if they'd cut the Doomsday fight in Episode 1, which was ultimately unnecessary, they could've had more of the cast around at the start. Then you could say that John Henry and Natalie are gone because they're so busy at the DOD, Lana is gone because of some mayoral duties, Chrissy is gone because her pregnancy is a bit rough, etc.
Candice still sucks. She's been bad since her introduction and hasn't really improved. Her main issue is that she isn't her own character -- she only exists as a plot point to further Jon's arcs. Besides that, she has no real chemistry with Jon, and it's unclear why they even like each other. I really wish they'd cut her altogether.
I'll just say it -- I don't really like this version of Lex. He doesn't feel anything like any version of the character I've ever known, but comic accuracy has never been a sticking point for me. Really, he's just bland and one-note. His desire to destroy Lois eventually doesn't come across as determination or ruthlessness -- it just makes him feel irrational and unstable. He's not particularly intelligent, and most of his plans are actually managed by his underlings. I genuinely think he's the least interesting main villain in the show.
Lex also doesn't have much personal history with Superman. I did like that he had beef with Lois specifically, but after a while, Superman just being a means to an end made their interactions feel sort of hollow.
His plans are also all over the place. I loved the idea of him using the reveal of Clark's identity to discredit her publicly, but that barely went anywhere. He wants to discredit her, and also kill her, and her family, and there's not really a sense of plan or direction. He's just doing things randomly to fuck with her.
I also think recasting the twins in the finale montage was the wrong move -- it's hard to relate to these actors we've never seen, especially when you can't even tell which twin is which. If Tyler and Bitsie can be caked in terrible old age makeup, you can do the same for Alex and Michael. Plus, there was no need to actually see Lois' death. That felt unnecessarily brutal and unpleasant. It could have been kept in voiceover, while showing Clark and the boys at her grave. Clark's death felt peaceful in the end, while Lois' felt like too much.
Lastly... I fundamentally disagree with the decision to give Jon powers. It undermines all of his character arcs up until this point. And if they insisted on doing it, they could have done it in a way that still gave him an interesting character arc -- but instead, he's just diet Jordan now. This one has its own post because it genuinely upset me so much. Jon was my favorite character, and this season basically nuked everything I loved about him.
