I'm trying to make a moodboard for The Attor for @sjmvillainweek (very belatedly, I know), and thought I would include some words or word art in there to ✨spice it up✨.

I first came across this phrase in the book "Treasure at the Heart of the Tanglewood" by Meredith Ann Pierce:

"a smoky attar as of sorcery"

Beautiful, right? It's so evocative. Now, I'm not saying SJM ever read this book (it came out in 2001), but if she did, it might be where she got her inspiration for THE ATTOR. However. If she misunderstood the definition like *I* misunderstood the definition, then... well... See for yourself.

ATTAR Noun: An essential oil extracted from flowers

The characters in the ACOTAR universe are calling this creature THE SMELL. 😂

I mean, they're not wrong, but still.

It kind of puts a damper on all the creepy gargoyle imagery I've been imagining. 😅

#to be fair #sjm might have been inspired by an adder #which is a snake #or someone who's good at math #if you want to be cheeky about it #but here i was thinking attar meant magic #when it's just a fancy extract #i'm not saying my dreams were crushed #but like i said #they have been dampened a little bit #welp #the attor #acotar villains #my thoughts #a little humor

#my art #art fight #artfight #artfight 2024 #furry #anthro #scalie #snake #illustration #xallith's characters are all so gorgeous but jean is a personal fav - sea snakes are super cool and she has a lot of their charm #had a LOT of fun with this one! lots of textures to work with and b/w contrast in the character so i thought a monochrome image would work #i.e my specialty. i think. though people seem to like my colour work nowadays too which is encouraging #once again - i looove art fight thank you art fight for my life. july would be just another month if you didn't exist #gonna try to pace myself more from this point so i don't completely burn out. i've got more free time this year though #so hopefully can do more than last year

I personally think videogames need to offer more paths than just the linear progression of "ally > friend > love interest"

Like there needs to be a "really close friend" relationship option that isn't just a tier lower from "love interest"
