actually I love Tentoo and he is the Doctor and it was the only ending for Rose that worked and it is a huge gift to be able to have the man she loves grow old with her, they were always heading for that, y'all be quiet. I 100% understand the angst but it's okay, they're okay, good ending-

#did you want her to...not end up with the doctor?#she ended up with the doctor. she ended up with the doctor and they get to AGE together #they get to have a real honest relationship the way they both always genuinely wanted #it's hard that the full time lord version has to carry on without her but that is the way that character's story ALWAYS goes #the doctor does not get to keep ANYONE. it would be a different show if he did #meanwhile there is a version of that same face of his - the one that was MADE for love? particularly born out of love for ROSE? the one 1/2 #2/2 that always wanted a FAMILY? and stability? and a normal life? the tenth doctor longed for that specifically because of rose #now he gets to have it AND be part-human so he doesn't have to watch her get old. he gets old WITH HER #and they're canonically growing their own Tardis so you don't even have to be sad that they're not adventuring in time and space as usual #because they ARE. it's the kindest ending for either character. and if the full time lord hadn't left without either of them-#-he would have had to lose them eventually. lose Rose because she's human? hello? painful? but instead he was selfless and left her-#-with a proper happy ending. which she CHOSE to have so you can't be like “he tricked her!” she chose to kiss one of them and it was Tentoo #they are the same man. Rose won in this scenario.#and I GET IT I am with Billie Piper I think it will always feel a little off that she was left with Tentoo and not the full time lord #I understand. it still makes me a little sad. but I know it's a good ending writing-wise. really the ONLY ending.#yes I know about the popular idea of Immortal!Rose or Bad Wolf Rose or whatever and that's cute and all BUT - it's not a GOOD thing #it's not PREFERABLE to be immortal. ugh sorry for taking a while to get to this. The problem is I feel like the only two ways to answer this are by spending a week and a half of full time labor sifting through old posts and evidence to get every detail right and lay out an airtight case, or to halfass something very serious, and so I felt a little stuck. So since I can't seem to find a good halfway point, apologies but here is the half assed version, if you want to get into it more I invite you to do your own deep dive or talk to other people, but here's how I remember things. Louis has almost never on video explicitly said things about Larry not being real and/or anything negative about fans and their theories (mostly the opposite), up until the last couple years when he obviously decided to make a major change he didn't talk about Freddie much at all let alone saying he was his kid, honestly not that much about Eleanor even; except for in two major interviews with Dan Wootton, each of which lined up with a serious traumatic Tomlinson family event that they managed to keep out of the tabloids until the very end (Jay's illness and Fizzy's struggles with substance abuse). After the fact of those events a lot of small things that didn't make sense at the time came together to look very much like Louis traded those interviews (and those answers) for having his family's private matters kept private. Story trading of this kind is a publicly known real thing that happens, and there were various clues that suggested he was being leaned on about those stories to lend legitimacy to the idea that it was something that happened in these cases. Given what we know about Dan Wootton and how he operates even before the recent flood of information and even more now, I think it's more than likely that he has been holding the threat of outing Louis (as he has done to many other public figures) over his head for over a decade, and has used his family's tragic struggles to get Louis to dance like a fucking puppet for him and I will REJOICE at his downfall when it comes whether it is now or 20 years from now... because someday it will, he has made too many enemies to stay above it forever

#I did start to try to deep dive before I realized it was too much #but I was reminded that when Louis was doing txf as a judge while fizzy was struggling #many people thought he had been pressured somehow into it; later when we knew what had been going on people were like #oh maybe he just wanted to be close to home to deal with fizzy stuff or somethng #but also: keeping fizzy stuff quiet would potentially be the info we didn't have at that time that could answer that q too of what they use #given the DW🤝simon jones🤝simon cowell cursed connections #(for the newbies: simon jones aka DWs bestie is Louis' publicist for no apparent reason even now long after he has gotten free of the rest #of the modest/syco/simon cowell shitshow)#anyway another example of story trading in our fandom is zayn's baby sister's teen pregnancy #which was known to the fandom early on but kept super quiet by respectful fans- during this time Z did some unprecedented actual interviews #for no obvious reason #and then iirc pretty much the day she turned 17 a very lowkey article reported on her marrying her bf and mentioning a pregnancy #but as if it was recent not like 7 months along #and even when she gave birth soon after it was all kind of... glossed over and around and not reported until a little later #blah blah blah #I felt like it was weird to talk about this for some reason but when I thought about it #I don't know if it matters. finally got enough ideas formed for these characters whose basic things have been sloshing around in my brain for a couple months to try and design them enough to introduce them today. also i wanted to design another lion. this is dominic and his daughter carmen! i wanted art of them interacting in this post but ive spent like five hours staring at my laptop so expect it some other time lol

little fun tag i want to add onto this, it occurred to me while deciding on carmens species and i talked abt it w averi cuz it was an interesting concept to me; hybrid animals are named using the first half of the fathers name, but carmen has two biological fathers ('fathers' only technically since only ones her DAD and present in her life), so out of her choices she calls herself a liger instead of a tigon bcuz her tiger parent wasnt involved and it would be confusing to random ppl if her dad and her didnt use it lol. the times she did meet him were probably like chance run-ins dominic had with him while she was there

I still think it could’ve been vastly improved on while remaining realistic for a live action movie #but I think some people hold it to unrealistic standards in their criticisms or whatever #also costumes have to be actually movable and breathable bc REAL people are shooting REAL scenes and doing stunts and shit in them #but. yeah. the costumes could definitely have had some improvement #I think that if u wanted to make a borderlands film that was accurate to the design of the characters it would be easier to do it animated #and the writing?#we do not speak about the writing good lord #borderlands movie #borderlands

Had a staff meeting yesterday where my boss congratulated us on our counseling center being wildly committed to diversity bc the university asked him to compile all the stuff on our websites and trainings that might be targeted if certain laws go into effect and uh. his job is very hard right now

#he protects the rest of us from the politics side of things so mostly respect him even if I disagree with him sometimes #he did get me a gender neutral bathroom in the building last year #but our training director was the one when the project stalled for months #who handed me a traffic cone with a sign on it and was like ‘just put it in front of whatever bathroom you use and block it off completely’#which was very direct action that I thought was VERY funny #every time I see our boss lately though he looks really tired #we talked about our bios and how folks in our state have been editing theirs to prevent them from being attacked #and I’m having war flashbacks to when a practicum placement edited my bio to have she her pronouns #idk if my pronouns themselves are going to open me to an attack and I’m just. tired idk #I’ll talk about it in supervision or something #my pic on there is from back when I had long hair though #I’d been thinking I needed to update it but. might not for a while

me: so yeah i feel super dizzy and lightheaded when i stand up and also just at random times of the day and also my heart just starts pounding randomly and it skips a beat randomly at least once a day and im also experiencing these other small things that i realized probably arent normal

the cardiologist: yeah, your heart’s beating too fast, but that’s just Normal Teenager Things™️! probably just like dehydration or something lol

#at least he sent me for blood tests and stuff #(which all came back normal)#and i have to wear a heart monitor for three days #my parents got mad at me because its been happening for a while and i didnt say anything #but in my defense i genuinely just didnt know that it wasnt normal #i thought that it just happened sometimes #also i didnt know the amount until i actually started to have to track it for the heart monitor #and maybe im not drinking Enough water but i genuinely dont think thats the main issue #i could be completely wrong but it feels like its more than that #we’ll see i guess #once im done with this and they get the results in and decide if they want to just brush it off or whatever #also had a nurse who was like weirdly insistent that i mustve been drinking a shit ton of soft drinks #just cause i mentioned that ill have a soft drink with meals sometimes (not nearly to the extent she was trying to say)#and she wouldnt believe me or my mom when we said that the soft drinks are pretty much always zero-sugar zero-caffeine #tachycardia #i mean thats what the doctor said it looks like #i dont really know what else to tag #chronic illness #maybe???#i dont know i dont have a diagnosis or anything so i dont wanna be like “oh thats def what that is”#also #pots #possibly #i did a shit ton of research on my own and i just really felt like what i was experiencing was lining up with it #but i dont wanna self diagnose

i think will and bedelia are foils of each other not in the traditional sense but in the sense that will is a wolf in sheep's clothing and bedelia is a sheep in wolf's clothing
