pacifcy her -Edward Cullen x reader
I catch edward staring my way as that basic bitch bella talks about who knows what he seems so bored and annoyed by her
I softly smile at him and sent a small wave
Edward eyes lighten up a bit and smiled a bit widely back at me
the bell rings and I pick up my binder and notebook and hold them up to my chest and walk out
I look back in the hallways to see bella holding Edward hand
Edward clearly doesn’t want to be all pda with her I just roll my eyes at them
and walk into my next class
I sit down at a two person desk next to the window and I see bella following Edward into the door way and I just give her a glare and look away
that basic bitch leaves finally
Edward releases a breathe which looks like he’s been holding in
and looks my way and his eyes brighten as he walks my way
now I can take her man..
Edward takes a seat next to me as he smiles at me
“hey”I say to him as I look up at him as he takes a seat next to me
“hi (y/n/n)”
i’m surprised he called me by my nick name he usually calls me by my actual name
“how has your day been”
I ask him
“a bit stressful actually” he sighs
I give him a pity look knowing damn well the ‘stress’ he has been feeling was bella
“but it’s fine”he looks at me softly and I smile at him class starts but I can’t stop laughing and Edward can’t stop chuckling or smiling at my jokes
the teacher tells us to pair up with the person sitting next to us
me and Edward quickly look at each other
“good thing we’re sitting next to each other”he said to me
“good thing for me cause you’re really smart” I say as I smirk at him
Edward laughs softly at me and playfully rolls his eyes at me and we start working I keep asking him what the problems mean because what the actual fuck I could not process any of this bull crap each time I would write something down or answer the question Edward would admire me ‘thinking’ I didn’t notice
-next period-
I walk into gym class after putting our gym uniform on and sigh realizing that we’re playing volley ball
bella comes up to me and says to me “someone told me stay away from things that aren’t yours”
I give her a blank face and say
“but was he yours if he wanted me so bad”
she just stares at me with a disbelieved look on her face
pacify her
she’s getting on my nerves
and as if my prayers had been heard a volley ball flys out of no where and roughly hits the back of her head and she stumbles a bit
I gasp then start laughing as Jessica comes running over “OH MY GOD BELLA IM SO SORRY” I walk away acting like I didn’t see anything
one of the reasons I dislike bella is because why the hell are you treating Edward so badly playing with his feelings like why do you keep choosing Jacob over him when you have Edward and she’s just so weird always blinking,biting her lower lip,and pushing her hair behind her ear
out of school she always chooses to hang out with Jacob and it’s so obvious Charlie prefers Jacob for bella over Edward.He would choose Jacob in a heart beat since he’s been knowing him since he was a kid
I know Edward feels insecure by Jacob anytime he’s brought up in his relationship with bella
that’s why I always feel bad for him especially that time bella kissed Jacob infront of Edward
-later that night-
I’m laying down on my bed wearing my night as my music plays from my record player and i’m reading
that’s when I hear Knock from the window
‘what the fuck..’
then I hear another knock
I get up and open my window to see Edward I stare at him with wide eyes a bit surprised as Edward smiles widely at me as he slides into my room
“how the fuck..”
I say not being able to process the situation
that’s when Edward explains everything to me
the whole vampire situation
and that he’s only with bella because she’s his blood singer
“until you moved back to forks that’s when stuff changed for me once again. bella might be my blood singer but you’re my mate..my soul mate” I stare at him a bit surprised
“I want you (y/n/n) I really do I just don’t want you getting put into danger because of me and I don’t know how to break it to bella because …I..still..love her”He said that last part in a bit of a disgusted way
I know he did not want to say that last part he was second guessing himself
“You don’t love her.Stop lying with those words”
I say to Edward as he sighs knowing I was right
Edward still really cared for bella he just didn’t love her like that anymore after everything she has put him through shit even his family
“ ‘loving’ her seems tiring so boy,just love me down” I say to Edward as he picks me up and I put my legs around his waist he groans and I softly grab his face kissing his face then lips passionately as Edward kisses me back trying to control himself
he lays me down on my bed carefully climbing on-top of me not wanting to hurt me
“(y/n/n) please tell me if i’m going to far I don’t want to hurt you or make you feel uncomfortable” he says in the most sweetest,reassuring,calmest voice ever I shush him and start running my fingers through his hair as he gives me small soft kisses on my collar I lift his face up and start kissing his lips once again I harshly grab his hair and rub my other hand down his back which causes him to moan so I slip my tongue in his mouth he seems so relax yet trying to control himself so he flips us over so i’m top
after our little make out session
Edward lets me lay on top of him as I lay my head in the crook of his neck as he reads me my book in a gentle soft voice
I try not to fall asleep wanting this moment to last forever. Edward grabs the blanket covering us Edward tells me it’s ok for me to sleep telling me he’s not going anywhere and I shake my head he chuckles at me and holds me tighter then kisses my forehead eventually I fall asleep in his embrace
the next morning I wake up to Edward gently shaking me and saying my name
“(y/n/n) wake up”
I groan as I turn away from him pulling the covers over my face
he sighed and chuckled softly at me picking me up bridal style in his arms
“come on (y/n/n)”
“but we don’t even have school today”
I groan out
“yeah..but im going to break the news to bella” I quickly jump out his arms getting dressed
“how are you going to tell her?” I ask him
“I think i’m going to tell her in the forest we always go to.but you stay here”
I looked at him a bit sad
“I promise i’ll come back and tell you everything that happened”he said in a reassuring tone I smiled softly at him as he gave me a quick hug and kiss on my lips then forehead as he zoomed out my bedroom door
-in the forest-
I cant stand her whining as bella is complaining,crying,and begging Edward not to leave her
where’s her binky now?
“NO bella you listen I am so sick of you always choosing that dog and I know Charlie prefers Jacob over me.
you say you love me yet you keep hurting me…plus I already fell in love with someone else..”
bella looks to stunt to speak
“who..? EDWARD WHO???”
she says in her high pitch annoying voice
as tears formed in her eyes
“it’s (y/n)”
bella stares at him with disbelief as she feels betrayed
Even though she had already done all of this to Edward with Jacob what was she expecting?
“YOU DONT LOVE HER STOP LYING WITH THOSE WORDS” bella screamed at Edward as tears streamed down her face
“…i’m sorry bella..” was the last thing he said to her as he left her in the forest
-back at (y/n’s) house-
I was watching a movie on my bed while eat popcorn when I felt something touch my shoulder I shot my head back so quickly seeing Edward
“jesus christ Edward you gave me a heart attack”
he smiled softly at me
“sorry (y/n/n)”
he said as he gently scooted me over
I laid my head on his shoulder as I munched on my popcorn
Edward had told me everything that had happened part of me felt bad for bella but for most of it I really didn’t
Edward had told me that he felt relief that he ended things with her like a weight lifted of his shoulder at-least now she could be with Jacob.
that night me and Edward had deep long talks he could listen to me speak for hours and still not get bored
-at school-
Edward usually sits with his family at lunch but he wanted to sit with me outside on the bleachers I like sitting there because barely anyone went outside to eat because it was to gloomy and ‘cold’ which the cold part was true for me at least but not for Edward since he’s a vampire so he let me wear his coat as we had my earbuds in listened to my playlist on my I pod
Edward had laid his head on my shoulder closing his eyes that’s when bella walked out the cafeteria seeing me and Edward she glared at me
‘stay away from things that aren’t yours’
‘but was he yours if he wanted me so bad’
I smirked at her as she walked away clearly mad.
still love you bella 😘

People really be acting like Rogue swore a chastity vow to Remy with her powers. "Poor Remy"? What about poor Rogue having to find out about Bella Donna in the "X-ternally Yours" episode of XTAS. It's just now the shoe is on the other foot for Gambit.
Hey stranger! Thanks for stopping by! 💜🛸
Yeaah... I tend to stay away from a lot of social media platforms, from reddit, and I especially try to stay away from the comment sections because they would make my blood pressure skyrocket. I’ve only seen a small fraction of it and it's been enough.
It’s the same old story, right? In media, if the man cheats, it’s because ‘boys will be boys’ and they just need to realize what true love is. If a woman does it she’s a… well, we all know what words people like to throw around. Not to mention that, TAS strictly speaking, Rogue (alongside the other one-night stands that were implied in many episodes in the original series) was the other woman. Gambit was married to Bella Donna and kept secrets from both women.
One thing that people don’t want to accept is that Gambit and Rogue never went official in the animation (even ‘97 acknowledges that). Rogue doesn’t owe Gambit anything, but that’s not how some fans want to see it. We can’t even compare the two situations, and, in all honesty, Gambit is not even a quarter of the way to knowing the taste of his own medicine.
In 'X-ternally Yours' the way Rogue reacted when she found out about Bella Donna was very compassionate and supportive towards Gambit, even if he didn’t have the decency to explain to her (or anyone in the X-men) the messy situation of his past. In ‘Remember it’ he held her accountable for something that had happened way before they met, with no complications or consequences to anyone, and for something she had the courage to share with him. This small nuance, which I absolutely love because it speaks volumes about the two characters, is taken and twisted by a part of the fandom. And that…really sucks.
I always try to keep in mind that these people are just a small fraction and not the majority of a fandom. But they are SO. VERY. LOUD and end up with a lot of reach. That is the real problem. Because they're perpetuating a toxic take. Lately I haven’t been able to enjoy any Romy or Gambit related content because of them and I hate it. I grew up with the ship and I still love Gambit so damn much but they are really good at destroying that for me.😔

I will never understand how imprinting just fixed bella/jacob’s dynamic like the narrative even acknowledges that sam still loves leah but is outpowered by the imprint on emily. it doesn’t make sense how bella/jacob feelings seem to just vanish. I even remember reading “it didn’t feel like how I wanted it” in bella’s pov during the book three of bd when jacob says its now how it’s supposed to be.
It literally makes NO sense, especially with the further explanation of the Sam/Leah stuff in the guide. It specifically says the way he felt about Leah did not change, it just couldn't compete with these new overwhelming feelings for Emily, and that he loved her enough not to live a lie with her like Emily asked him to do, which according to imprinting he shouldn't have been able to refuse her. None of it makes sense.
In SM's interview in the guide she talks about how imprinting was inspired by A Midsummer Night's Dream, which involved four people: Lysander and Hermia, who are in love; Demetrius, who loves Hermia, and Helena, who loves Demetrius. A fairy uses magic to 'fix' the problem but screws it up, so Lysander and Demetrius both end up in love with Helena, chaos ensues, and in the end the fairies fix it again by making Lysander/Hermia and Demetrius/Helena happen and SM thought that was wonderful, the magic of loving 'the right people' and that inspired Jacob imprinting, 'everything made right in a glittery moment of fairy dust' or something along those lines.
But like . . . Renesmee is a literal baby?!? Mere minutes old?! AND she's the daughter of Jacob's first love and his romantic rival? AND she's half vampire? AND he has no choice in this and all his connections with his family, his pack, his identity are "cut like the strings of balloons" and a steel cable binds him to Renesmee forever in their place?
And I am supposed to think this is a GOOD thing?
After seeing what a mess imprinting made of Leah, Sam and Emily's lives?! Sure, Emily and Sam have true love, I guess; but Leah's heart is broken, her father is dead, Emily's face is covered in scars, and Sam is carrying around a tremendous amount of guilt. Happily ever after, am I right?
Even if we believe Jacob's feelings for Bella are just gone (even though we know Sam's feelings for Leah didn't disappear), or that his feelings for her were just misplaced feelings for the future Renesmee . . . why would BELLA's feelings be affected at all? If anything she should be frozen with her feelings for Jacob in place, right? That's the vampire canon? Yes she's married to Edward and loves him more, but whatever lingering love she had for Jacob (which let's be real can't be that familial/brotherly if she daydreamed about having two kids with him as she does at the end of Eclipse) should be frozen in place, too. I always got the feeling that right now they are like "yeah imprinting explains it all we never really had romantic feelings for each other" but that in time they're realize that's not actually true
Sure, Bella gets to keep her best friend around for eternity. But Jacob has no choice and now has to keep phasing literally forever and be functionally immortal, watching his father, sisters, pack mates, etc eventually grow old and die. Edward has to put up with his one-time romantic rival for all eternity. And Renesmee, phew, Renesmee. If I were her I'd always be bothered by the idea that when my universe-appointed soulmate had a choice, he chose my mom.
In conclusion, Your Honor, imprinting makes no sense as a solution to Jacob and Bella's problems and just makes everything worse. I rest my case.

I have this long standing analysis of YA media dropping the ball on themes and consequences for its main characters giving them huge plot armor. What I realize the frustrating part about them is that often they are fantasy or fantasy adjacent, the authors accidentally create these huge worlds and severe problems and implications, but ironically, their main characters are separate from the world they inhabit via tone or their characteristics or mindset not aligning with the world (aka 21 century American mindset in a fantasy that takes place in 18th Russian analog iykyk)
Like Bella’s story being a romance while everyone else in a horror or gothic novel or pseudo vampire thriller or fantasy series is like odd as @panlight often points out mentioning SMeyers unwillingness to really lean into the vampire of it all. Honestly in a non first person story, this could be played for laughs to even be interesting.
(Never mind Smeyers surface understanding of the novels and plays, that she references as Bella’s favorite stories. As a former English teacher, her understanding and Bella’s understanding is in fact of someone who read some classics in high school but didn’t necessarily delve into the commentary and themes of the works focusing on the aesthetics of the romance rather than understanding what said purpose romance actually serves in the narrative as a critic or other wise. Insert ‘Smeyer doesn’t know what star crossed lovers means and refuses to learn rant)
Ironically, Bella having a romance in her world is portrayed as the exception when we look at other characters, even the uncivilized vampires, she is in fact the norm.
What makes Bella special other than her shield she gets at the end? She isn’t even the only one with great control. There are other hybrids. She is special because the text tells us she is. I’m not going to compare her to other female protagonists because my point isn’t about Bella as a character but rather how her narrative allows her to be special without really, really setting her apart from everyone else.
Just about everything the narrative says is specific to Bella’s story can be found in other characters backstories (that honestly don’t matter but do matter as a comparison that Bella is the exception to the rule rather than the example as I stated above.)
I think a lot of people cling to the Twilight saga (and other YA novels) but simultaneously desire more from the narrative because we want to feel special without doing the work, which isn’t wrong especially at a young age when you are finding yourself, but once we reach a level of maturity, we want our gifts and specialness to allow us to love ourselves and move in society as it drives our lives.
It’s why we cling to characters like Carlisle who doesn’t have known powers and has had series of trauma and has to actively rise above it. Or Jacob who is beaten by the narrative and should have been a symbol of how fate is myth and bullshit and circumstances may forge your path but choices and perseverance can alter it or make the path better.
I wanted to discuss @fuckmeyer Come Nightfall along with other Twilight reimaginings and how I feel as though, hers is the best damn thing we have. But while trying to write out my thoughts and why I feel as though I could never accomplish something like that, I ended writing this post after many posts about Star Wars. Honestly, I am reminded about two ideas: we are protagonist in our own stories and we are also side characters in others. Meaning we are chosen ones chosen for something greater but that doesn’t mean no one else is a chosen one.
Maybe that’s why I have out grown YA novels. Adulthood is in fact learning that you are hot shit but not always hot shit but other people also make sure your shit stays hot and you also make sure theirs stays hot too.
At the end of this thought process, I am left asking what was Bella actually chosen for. To be born a vampire? A Cullen vampire? A vampire in general? Edward’s wife and Renegades mother? Did she actually take the Volturi down (no but I’m posing the question) Or did she deny the call to what her purpose was.
If the last thing is true, then someone must rise to take her place.
I think Come Nightfall and other ideas answer this question and make it clearer that Bella chose her path rather than it being forced upon in a way the OG Twilight didn’t convince me. At the same time, fics and musing that pose other answers are just as compelling.
As for me, I believe Bella Swan denied her call arguably the call was declined for her the moment Edward entered the picture or maybe when she went to the Volturi (the Volturi of it all is for a other post but they should have killed her or turned her like WTF? Dumb). But also Bella Cullen’s only purpose in the narrative was to be Edward’s wife and Renesemes’s mother regardless of her earlier apprehensions.

I started building this thread two years ago but I always get so busy around his birthday, I could't finish collating everything. This has long been overdue but better late than never.
Happy birthday, JJ! 🤴🍁
Here are some JJ-centered fics to celebrate. Note the pairing for fics with romance for easy reference, otherwise it's JJ-centered.
after the fall by thankyouforexisting / @dragonagelesbian [T, 2K]
JJ isn't the first person to fall apart because of his anxiety.
“I just - I just heard something, and I thought maybe you needed some help?” Yuuri sounds like he’s a bit embarrassed, but he pulls through. “I’ve, uh, I’ve done my share of crying in bathroom stalls before, so don’t worry, I won’t judge.”
He doesn’t say anything, terrified. His knuckles are white against the porcelain. Yuuri can’t see him like this. Yuuri beat him. Yuuri broke a world record.
“If - I mean, if you want me to leave, that’s alright.” God, he’s still going. “But I won’t say anything, I swear. And Victor always makes me carry tissues and disinfectant cause he’s worried Yuri will get a cold, so I’m really good at clean up.”
Good Catholic Boy by Heavenly_Pearl / @kaleidodreams [M, 20K] JJ/Bella
Jean-Jacques Leroy always considered himself a good Catholic boy, but when he and Isabella give into temptation, his life is changed forever.
Irrepressible by tonberry [M, 8K] JJ/Otabek
For as long as he can remember, JJ has wanted to be liked.
(He's not very good at it.)
The First Cut by BoxWineConfessions [E, 27K] JJ/Yuri, Otabek/Bella
People made divorce seem like this long drawn out and ugly process, but it really wasn’t. He bought the town home for Isabella as a gift, and so it was hers. The flat down town would go to him, as it was closer to the rink. They paid off her medical school loans last fall, so that was done too. He had a few cars, which she unanimously agreed were his to keep, so long as she could keep her Corvette. She changed her vanity plate from Dr. Leroy to Dr. Yang. He saw it parked out front of the courthouse.
this is who i am baby, just follow me by kanoitrace [G, 3K] JJ/Bella
Theme of King JJ is his reminder to himself that he can do anything, but it has no meaning if she isn't by his side.
Timezones and Tricky Translations by ilien / @ili-here [T, 6K]
JJ gets a lot of texts from Yuri Plisetsky. He's aware that the ones that aren’t “Fuck you!” are actually meant for Otabek, but he answers them, anyway.
transatlanticism by copperwings [E, 11K] JJ/Yuri
It takes approximately two and a half minutes of video chat for Yuri to realize that JJ in public is completely different from JJ in a more private situation.
JJ in public is brash, loud and infuriating.
JJ in a private setting is still loud, but he’s also a huge blushing idiot who can’t sit still for more than thirty seconds and who stumbles over his words and chuckles nervously. His eyes are often lowered as if he doesn’t know where to look.
It would be annoying if it wasn’t so fucking cute.
-
...or: how Yuri and JJ cope with an ocean between them.
we can't always be trailblazers by @mrscalculation [G, 2K]
JJ never meant for Yuri to genuinely hate him, but he couldn't quite pinpoint the root of the problem until recently.

Anyways I started thinking about the Twilight tv show and how it will handle the Jacob/Reneesme thing
Just. Have imprinting not be inherently romantic. For some people sure but not all the time. Literally just have Jacob act as a big brother figure for her. Which ig technically he was until she reaches maturity (at like 7??) and then it’ll turn romantic which is uhhhhhhhh gross and not good
The idea was that Jacob loved Bella so much because he felt drawn to the egg inside her that would eventually become Reneesme—do that but make it so Jake has really strong feelings for Bella initially and these feelings are so intense and new to him he mistakes then for romantic. Eventually he comes to realize he doesn’t feel romantically for Bella and then when Reneesme is born he can be like “oh! This is who I’m meant to protect!” Like how dogs actually are with babies irl
Give Jacob a romantic partner of his own—or don’t—and then have him just be a brother figure to Reneesme. No icky romance even after she’s fully grown. Problem solved

how did sirius and regulus handle being separated from each other when they were younger in obx? Did they miss each other, did they just not talk about it?
okayokay so. i havent fully fleshed it out yet but i think i’m pretty set on and happy with the idea i had a few days ago.
bear with me, i gotta start somewhere entirely different for everything to made sense. so, at first i was really tempted to make bella be tom’s wife (rose and ward) and then have their affair child delphini be the third sibling kind of (the wheezie character). but that wouldn’t work because bella is even more clinically insane than tom and also would probably encourage barty, her psycho ass adoptive son. which made me think about who else could fit the roll, making me end up with narcissa and draco. which means when walburga and orion die when regulus and sirius are 9 and 11 respectively the Black family obviously find out. they go live with their paternal grandmother then (this is btw also the time sirius meets james in middle school and they start hanging out)—but only for about three years because she’s old and lowkey senile so then she’s going into senior housing and regulus and sirius are confronted with the possibility of foster care at ages 12 and 14 -> cue alphard and narcissa (and her big shot, rich ass husband that tends to adopt orphans about their age and sponsor their way through living and education). problem is only that riddle usually has two at a time and barty is already there, leaving only one more spot. narcissa is favorable to reg and of course sirius as the big brother insists regulus go to have a higher education and better opportunities at life. so regulus turns 13 and suddenly she’s a riddle. her brother does life on figure 8 (the kook side of the island) but alphard very much bought himself a home on a more deserted patch of land, more minimalistic, more cozy, less full kook. he’s distanced himself a great deal from kookism but he’s still rich enough and sort of trying to make a positive impact from within the community typa guy. regulus gets completely swept up in the heights of kookism though, she doesn’t even realize it until a couple months later when she has a sudden moment of clarity where she isn’t sure when the last time was that her and sirius talked. when they called on the phone. what tests are coming up for him, what band he is fixating on this month. and from thereon out it all kind of snowballs. sirius doesnt attend the parties alphard throws anymore. regulus is there, as are all the other kooks but sirius is not. they do miss each other but it’s also- weird,, sort of. not the same anymore. and they’re both mostly afraid of finding out if it will never be like in the old days so they only avoid each other even more. when they do see each other eventually it’s at parties and either or both are drunk and of course theyre dumb and petty and one of them has to say a mean thing. it obviously also doesn’t help that barty, evan and james, remus, lily are fundamentally so at war with each other, only accelerating their whole dynamic.

Seven Dog Breeds That I, An Experienced Dog Lover and Owner, Hate With A Burning Passion
Reminder that this is only my opinion and not to be taken seriously. Most of these are owner related problems, not dog problems because I believe there is no such thing as a bad dog, just a bad owner
Tagging @tessherongraystairs @petalsofaflower-shutupthomas
1. Pomeranians
Number one is the Pomeranian. I really fucking hate these dogs because they are super aggressive for such a tiny dog if you don’t train and socialize them right. They’re the human form of demons from hell and I stand by that opinion. For the love of God, please just socialize your tiny dogs!!!
2. German Shepherds
If you didn’t know, my worst enemy is a German Shepherd named Bella, who bit me while I was hugging my grandfather. She broke through my very expensive leggings and caused puncture wounds to my leg. That’s an extremely personal reason to dislike the breed as a whole but I stand by it.
Btw I grew up around German Shepherds and they are a dog breed that needs heavy training, time, and effort. Which is something a lot of people don’t realize, despite the fact that they are the K-9 dog of choice
3. Labrador Retrievers & Golden Retrievers
Yes, I am aware that these are two different breeds, but my reasoning is the same with both of them. Most people assume because of the retriever breed having such a naturally sweet disposition that they don’t need a lot of training, so they slack on it. Just like any other dog, retrievers need good training and socialization to be good pets.
Speaking from experience, most labs and goldens I’ve met have been severely under trained and are extremely destructive and/or aggressive towards people and dogs. I don’t blame the dogs, I blame the owners. This one is strictly because I feel that people need to stop getting dogs because they seem “easy” and then not putting the work in
4. Bloodhounds
This is another strictly personal one. One of my aunts owns a bloodhound and I can’t stand that dog. She is the loudest thing I have ever met and I live with a chihuahua. You can literally hear her as soon as you pull into my aunt’s neighborhood.
FYI, bloodhounds don’t bark, they bay. They literally have their own word to describe how loud they are. Look up a video of a bloodhound baying, you’ll regret it
5. Doodle Dogs (Any dog that has a name ending in doodle)
I feel like this one will offend a lot of people but I hate doodle dogs. And I have one word to say: hypoallergenic.
Every doodle owner I have met loves to mention that their dog is hypoallergenic, like every single time without fail. It wouldn’t annoy me as much if it was true, but it isn’t. There’s no such thing as hypoallergenic animal. They produce less dander, yes, but you can still be allergic to them
Same thing applies to hairless cats, they have oils in their skin that people can be allergic to
6. Beagle Mixes
And before anyone says “But Riley, don’t you have a beagle mix?”, yes, I do have one, and she’s the reason they’re on this list. Beagles already aren’t that great of a dog breed (in my opinion) and I don’t know why people see the need to mix them with every other breed under the sun, especially since beagles are known for their numerous health problems
I honestly don’t get it. Like who decided to mix a French Bulldog (another dog with health issues) and a Beagle together? Idk but that’s what happened to get my dog
7. Yorkie Mixes (Yorkie = Yorkshire Terrier)
I should preface this one with how much I love yorkies in general. I’ve always wanted one and I would probably get one when I’m older. They do have the same issues as the Pomeranians but this isn’t about that.
People tend to love to mix yorkies with other smalls dogs. Chihuahuas, poodles, dachshunds, Maltese, etc. Let me tell you, mixing two stubborn and feisty dog breeds together doesn’t work out well at all
Like seriously, a chihuahua and a yorkie together? All you get is a tiny little hell-raiser who loves to dig everything. Dirt, the carpet, your couch, everything they can and they will.
Seriously, stop messing around with yorkies
I have a specific hatred for Maltipoos but that is a story for another time

“I just meant…” Phaedra couldn’t finish because she was laughing so hard. With the way that all of the men seemed to be protective, she doubted any of the women were going to be alone much, even if it meant that some of the men would be sleeping on the couches that were in the bedrooms. She had no doubt Deacon or Leandre would be for Yael, if not having to move another couch in so they both could. “I think we knew exactly what you meant, Princess. And I think that we can handle bein in the bed with ya, gorgeous.” Thinius waggled his brows as he dropped his arm around her shoulder and moved to get them out of the room before the conversation devolved more. As much as he normally would have loved to take Phaedra to the bed, Dez was there and he was still getting a grip for how the whole situation was feeling.
2.
Her touch almost caused a greater ache in his chest than his realization that he had been an ass to assume and not let her finish her sentence. If Bella had reacted with anger or hurt, he would have understood and he deserved her reproach; instead she had been understanding and was worried herself. Adriel felt that it was he who did not deserve this female as his mate. His anger, which was indeed legendary amongst the Heavens and Hells, was something he now feared would hurt her and potentially drive her away. If he lost her…
“I am sorry, Bella. I have a temper, one which I have never had reason to contain nor restrict. I did not mean to offend or hurt you. I promise to do better in the future.” Slowly Adriel’s eyes opened and his head rose to look at her face. “You could not disappoint me.” Softly he kissed her, keeping his eyes on hers.
3.
Horace’s jaw ticked and he controlled his breathing through his nose. He wasn’t a demon, he had a problem with innocents being hurt or used, but fighting with Casperius was going to get him nowhere. He’d have to warn Vasilus as well, otherwise there was sure to be another explosion sometime along the way, and Cormoran might not be around to defuse that one. “Do what you want Casperius,” he leaned forward, “but when she figures out how you really are, do you think she’s going to want anything to do with you? The drugs, the women, the booze, the death? You’re bringing her into that? Don’t bullshit me that she means anything more to you than a new plaything and when you’re done, you’ll do what you always do and discard her and move on.” His eyes narrowed as his head also tilted, a sarcastic smirk forming. Horace was pushing buttons and he’d stopped giving a fuck. “Then Cormoran, Vasilus, and I will clean it up so that she doesn’t end up Matty’s victim since you’ve already put her on his radar. We’ve gotten good at cleaning up your messes over the years, The Source knows someone has to.” Horace turned to head to the stairs that the other two had headed down. He was done with the conversation and had other things to attend to. It was out of loyalty to Cormoran more than Casperius that Horace stayed at the manor and kept things in order.
Casperius’ hand shot out and grabbed Horace’s bicep, stopping him from walking off. “How did Matty find that out? You and Vasilus are the only ones who knew about her.” It hadn’t occurred to him about that till Horace, himself, mentioned Matty finding her. Cormoran wouldn’t have said anything to anyone at his estate, so it was someone on his own, and that pissed Casperius off.
4.
“I will trust you…for now, Lucifer.” Finally she answered him, her voice smooth as velvet. It was rich and warm, a little deep for a female, but held a sensual note that tended to draw people in.
“I promise that you will not regret it, Cassandra.” The corners of his lips lifted, reflecting his pleasure at her answer as he slid the ring upon her finger. Lucifer had been saving the bauble for just the right time, and just the right person. It seemed he had found both now, and that fact additionally pleased him. “I am no angel, like your previous companion,” his eyes crinkled at the edges in humor, “but I am no longer the male that I was in the past. My grandchildren have shown me the ere of my ways, I can assure you.” That they let him go down into Caligo and enjoy some of the activities there did help.
5.
“I’m kind of possessive of my keyboard and mouse though. Gonna have to insist on hands off. You’re free to play with controllers to my systems, Red Hot, but not in my chair or at my controls back there.” He raised his chin towards where his PC gaming setup was. “Back there I’m the king. I got room for a Queen at my side though if ya wanna.”
“And what exactly are you going to do if I try to take it over? Hmmm…?” Del tipped her head to the side and narrowed her eyes up at him. “Or if I just sit on you and take over? Maybe I don’t need my own system, I’ll just take yours.” She was still trying to come up with a good name for him. I bugged her that he had come up with a good one for her right away and she was struggling, but she would. His hand on her hip didn’t help, he was distracting her, most likely on purpose.
6.
Turning to face her, his dark eyes met those captivating greens of hers, “what is wrong with me?”
Ice water replaced blood flowing through Adalicia’s veins and it froze her in her spot. “Excuse me?” It was out of her mouth before her brain could think better of it. And she heard Grea clear his throat and movement behind her.
“Kel, what are you doing?” Grae’s hands landed gently on Adalicia’s hips so as not to startle her, then he stepped so his chest was pressed lightly against her back. He wanted to make sure that she knew he was there to support her.
7.
“Yeah, and you’ll wait here till she’s ready, boys.” Thinius smuggly grinned as he watched the muscle in the King’s jaw tick. Oh, he was wound tight. Could Thinius get him to explode out here? That would get them back to having fun a lot faster. “Unless ya just want to leave the pretty box that I know ya brough with ya with us boys. She might be a while. And if you’re looking for a bride, well, you might as well head out. She doesn’t like royal cock.” Now he grinned, Mithos cleared his throat. The King was getting red around the neck, and there was the ever so faint sound of grinding teeth.
Leave it to Thinius to piss off royalty before they’d even made it in to see Brie. That was what he was out here to do, and he did it well. Mithos always had thought it should be Dez at the door, but after a few of these visits lately, he was seeing the wisdom in picking the chaos demon to be with him here. Besides being the joint Captain of the Queen’s Guard, he could be the most annoying asshole that Mithos had ever encountered. Thankfully he had never been on the receiving end of Thinius goading.
“If you were expecting to have your ass kissed as it was at times under the previous administration, Kellen, as you can see, the Queen bows to no one.” Mithos smirked at the King. They knew each other from when Lucifer reigned in Hell. His tone was not as flippant, nor as cocky as Thinius’ but his grin was just as smug. There was a challenge in his eyes that dared Kellen to say or do something, anything that would provoke a confrontation.

Finished re-reading Eclipse (yeah, I’m going backward, sue me) and it truly is. Romance book logic at its finest. Some notes:
Antis whining and bitching about Edward’s overprotective behavior for 1/3rds of the book when 1) Bella does call him out on it and 2) Edward ends up apologizing and promising not to be so high-handed would be hilarious if people didn’t take that seriously. Granted, both Bella and Edward cannot stay angry with one another for one goshdarn minute (R&J: *glares, files a lawsuit*) without forgiving each other and making up. The most hilarious instance is Bella making her grizzly bears threat and then snuggling up to Edward when he returns (“I should infuriate you more often” he literally jokes). As for Edward, there is his agreement to miss out on the fight even when he clearly wants to go, but also at the end he was entirely willing to just give Bella the D!!! Without conditions!!! Too bad Bella finally realized it was best to make a proper farewell to her human life, she could have had a real happy time at their meadow.
Also re: “Edward isolates her, classic abusive behavior!!!” anti clown take…high-handed as Edward can be, he does not isolate Bella from her friends or cleave her from human life in general. On the contrary, he practically all but begs her to prolong her human life for a year or two or indefinitely, apply to and go to college, and spend more time with her human friends. He only has a problem with Jacob for obvious reasons re: treaty, romantic jealousy, etc. Hell, he doesn’t even want to her be a vampire. Edward’s chosen path is simply to be with Bella all throughout her human life. That is not the behavior of real-life abusers, btw. For better or worse, Bella’s becoming a vampire is driven chiefly by Bella herself. She decides whether it’s best to spend more time with friends or simply let those friendships go. She decides she wants to retain Jacob as a friend.
Jacob. My opinion is still the same: Fun character, still the worst as a love interest. I had more fun with him now than I did in my salad years (@my extremely salty teen self writing “DIE JACOB” for two whole pages, I know, bby, I get it), but thematically it does make sense. Eclipse is all about Bella realizing what she would give up re: her humanity, making her decision to become a vampire a truly informed one. That includes acknowledging Jacob as a potential love interest, Rosalie’s perspective, Jasper’s knowledge and history on newborn vampires and how truly violent the vampiric world is, seeing an example of a newborn vampire (Bree), and at least 1) human experience Bella does not want to miss out.
Speaking of which, Horny Bella!!! God I love this bitch!!! More seriously, I like the subversion of the virgin girl/bad boy trope by having Bella be the one to push for sex. And of course Bella agrees to marry Edward just so that she could have that sweet, sweet vampire D. I thoroughly approve.
The Edward and Jacob rivalry. 10/10, the best. I was eating mental popcorn throughout. Their stand-off at the school and Mike et al.’s subsequent bet, the male posturing, the tent scene…Edward’s jealousy especially was so entertaining. Edward’s reaction when Bella punched Jacob was sheer (romance novel) perfection. Charlie’s being blithely Team Jacob was the cherry on top of this social comedy sundae. And of course that tent scene was so iconic freakin’ Hunger Games copied it (and really badly. Why the hell did Collins even bother?).
On a related note: Those Wuthering Heights allusions were anvil-sized, but apropos, of course. I liked that Edward was the Heathcliff and saw himself in him, making Jacob the Linton. Fits into my personal theory of the Twilight Saga just being R&J, Jane Eyre, and Wuthering Heights put into a blender.
Bella being the one to piece together the mystery once more. She really gets all the brains for the first 3 books. This time, though, I call bullshit on them not realizing Victoria’s obvious involvement once they realized the intruder and the newborns in Seattle were connected. It was very much obvious. The only real twist was the Volturi coming in.
Rosalie’s backstory was so realistic and is a great commentary on misogyny than it is given credit for. Bella’s reaction was underbaked, though. She does get (1) nightmare over it, but otherwise it’s Tanya’s interest in Edward that really sticks. (Honestly, I’m here for it. Jealous!Bella is second only to Horny!Bella. Again, romance book logic at its finest.) Bella had much more of a empathetic reaction to Leah’s dilemma than Rosalie, interestingly enough, considering Sam/Emily is drawn as an explicit parallel to her and Edward. Perhaps Leah being the Jacob of that particularly triangle did touch her…
Antis clutching their pearls over Jasper was a Confederate soldier…when Jasper mentions it once, expresses zero nostalgia for that period in his life, and doesn’t even explain why he enlisted in the first place. He wasn’t even fighting when he was turned, just evacuating the city. Either way, he wasn’t a soldier for long before he was conscripted into another vampiric war.
Cinderbella strikes again re: Charlie and Renée, both weak ass parental figures. Again, it gives rationale for Bella’s attraction to Edward (more mature, stable, educated) and to Jacob (happy-go-lucky, younger, more reckless, laissez-faire). Both devoted powerful protectors belonging to fantastical worlds. Yeah, that tracks
“I refuse to be affected by territorial disputes between mythical creatures.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 This line is so underrated.
In Breaking Dawn, I wondered a bit how Edward could accept Vampire Bella so quickly re: his soul reservations, but Eclipse does provide an answer. Bella is worried Edward would prefer her as a human than a vampire, and Edward literally 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Nice to know this was no retcon and yeah, it tracks
Edward being so damn generous with Bella realizing she is in love with Jacob is really the core essence of Team Edward for me. Jacob would not have been so generous had Bella met Edward after she had Jacob. Edward does love her best. Honestly, I even think she and Edward are more alike than Bella and Jacob. Bella and Jacob clash more often than they agree. Jacob does read her and understand her a lot better, I’ll grant you that.
Book Bella: “But I want you to know something—when it comes to all this enemies nonsense, I’m out. I am neutral country. I am Switzerland.” Movie Bella: “i’MSWITZERLAND!!!1!” God, the movies did Bella so dirty.
#twilight#eclipse#twilight meta#anti anti twilight#and now onto new moon#i’m going backwards lol#cristina reads#the most successful love triangle and it’s not even a love triangle

One thing it’s so hard for people to accept is that a lot of the time, bigots who hate shit love to blame it including things they’re prejudiced against as the reason for its other, very real flaws. It’s completely irrational to blame say, the awful direction of the Star Wars sequel trilogy on having actors who aren’t white for example. It makes no sense whatsoever. In fact, those actors having their roles shafted was a big problem. But that irrationality doesn’t get rid of those problems.
Sometimes bigots don’t even realize that there ARE other flaws, even if said flaws are the main reason why they didn’t enjoy the work. They just subconsciously focus on their prejudice only. They’re deluded. But not knowing WHY something sucks doesn’t make it good, even if the proposed reason is based on abhorrent social values.
Like, take the Twilight example. That got a ridiculous amount of hate for simply being a girl’s teen romance and having monsters be depicted in ways the dudebros hated. There was SO MUCH sexism and homophobia over the vampires being pretty boys who sparkle, with an arbitrary notion that this is “not how vampires work” even though there are far greater departures from traditional vampire lore in works that they DO like. But that doesn’t mean the books are any good or that all the critics were just sexist or homophobic. Twilight has A LOT of objective problems. Ones you REALLY can’t excuse.
Racism and xenophobia are RAMPANT in those books. From the blatant butchering of Quileute mythology and culture to the blatant characterization of South American Indigenous peoples as ignorant and primitive and full of stereotypes to the only Irish guy being a coward full of similar stereotypes to whatever the fuck was going on in Italy or Romania. There is literally a line where Bella says she has trouble telling several Quileutes apart. And let’s not forget how Meyer said that vampires are always inherently more beautiful than humans AND that becoming a vampire makes you white. Unless you’re a villain in which case she’s fine with a black actor playing you. Real story.
My God, that wasn’t even all the racism in the books! If I tried to go through every bit, we’d be here all week.
Then there’s all the romanticized abuse (from Edward, Jacob, AND Bella), general shitty behavior on the part of the heroes that gets excused or even ignored, and just the sheer amount of nonsense in the actual plot. There’s so much stupid shit that makes no sense I can’t even begin to explain. Someone threw out two valuable antique motorcycles that weren’t even hard to fix and did so by leaving them on the curb with the regular trash. No, I’m not kidding.
Heck, sometimes the asshole critics are right about things for the completely wrong reasons. That sparkling thing I mentioned? The one thing that got the most criticism based on arbitrary criteria and blatant sexism and homophobia? It’s still dumb, just not for the reasons the dudebro chuds say it is. It’s dumb because the book narrates it as the most enchanting, beautiful thing ever while also describing the most silly depiction possible of something that already sounds pretty goofy. It’s dumb because Edward tries to expose himself as a vampire by stepping into the sunlight in Volterra, Italy, even though even in universe, NO ONE KNOWS VAMPIRES DO THAT. It’s dumb because the cloudiness of Washington is supposed to make it easier to go out in daylight without risking exposure even though Washington is only cloudy relative to other parts of America and still gets a lot of sunlight. It’s dumb because the explanation for it in the supplementary material makes less and less sense with every detail. It’s not dumb for the reason the chuds say it’s dumb, but it IS dumb.
Bigots who hate on shit for bigoted reasons will always be wrong and will always be IN the wrong but that doesn’t make any of this stuff go away.
yall do realize just because something has been a target of misogynistic criticism, that doesn't make stanning it completely uncritically in response some kind of revolutionary feminist praxis. right.

Let’s say for whatever reason Bella doesn’t heed Edwards warnings about Jasper, for whatever reason, be it out of spite, curiosity or her misreading Jaspers distance in a different way. Maybe he’s just shy, yes that must be it. The more Edward insists otherwise the more curious/ determine she becomes. What happens then? Assuming Jasper doesn’t ignore her attempts at friendship or straight up eats her.
Anon, why do I have the strangest feeling that what you really want out of this is a Jasper/Bella fic?
As usual, my advice is to go and write the Jasper/Bella fic. You'll feel a lot happier than whatever I'm going to give you, I'm sure.
(I also like that Jasper's not allowed to eat her or ignore her even though these are by far the most likely outcomes.)
Edward Gives Jasper the Talk
Edward doesn't know the universe forbids Jasper from either ignoring Bella or eating her. I his eyes, there's a good chance his girlfriend's about to become Jasper's lunch.
Moreover, Jasper is the last person Edward wants Bella talking to. Jasper's lived the full vampire experience, of not only eating people, but turning and murdering fellow vampires for decades and fighting over territory. Edward is not at all at ease with Jasper's backstory and doesn't want Bella talking to him and potentially realizing just how dangerous and monstrous vampires really are. Not to mention that Edward just doesn't like Jasper or trust him.
Edward tells Jasper to back the fuck off.
No, Edward doesn't care if Bella would find it weird/keeps bothering Jasper no matter how much distance Jasper tries to put between them. Jasper can go take a vacation somewhere for a few months/years/however long this thing goes on.
Jasper, of course, then realizes that Edward intends to dump Bella Swan at some mysterious point. Could be a few weeks from now, could be at the end of high school. But it's very clear that Bella Swan's not getting turned and that Edward doesn't expect this to last more than a few years.
Jasper brings up why Edward isn't dumping Bella now and making it clear, up front, that they don't have a future together (would certainly save Jasper a lot of trouble).
Edward throws a hissy fit that doesn't make much sense but boils down to making the most of the time he and Bella do have together and that Edward... isn't emotionally strong enough to live without her yet. BUT HE WILL BE. SOON.
Jasper...
Does not see this going well.
Especially as Alice is convinced that, sooner or later, Bella will be a vampire which means that... Edward's plan isn't going to work.
Jasper Keeper of Secrets and Possible Homewrecker
Well, Bella's still convinced Jasper is her super cool friend (he's not, she just won't leave.) Unfortunately, Jasper now knows something Bella doesn't: Edward plans to dump her any minute now.
And Bella keeps talking about trying to get to know the family better (which is why she claims she's around him all the time), and wanting to really understand this family and be a part of it. Bella, very clearly, thinks Edward's not going to dump her or else will turn her into a vampire.
Any minute now.
More, Jasper realizes that the more time Bella's spending with him is less time she's spending with Edward. And she... Doesn't seem to realize that this is a problem and perhaps a very large red flag in her relationship with Edward.
You shouldn't be dumping your boyfriend to hang out with your boyfriend's scary brother.
Especially when said boyfriend is now very much noticing and getting very very angry and accusatory.
Jasper cracks like an egg.
He tells Bella that a) Edward has no long term plans for their relationship and has no intention of ever turning her into a vampire and will probably dump her come graduation b) if she's serious about dating Edward then she needs to actually spend time with Edward.
Bella is Shocked, Simply Shocked!
Bella somehow did not see this coming.
She loves Edward! How could Edward not know that? And he keeps saying he can't live without her but now Jasper is telling her that he can and that he plans to? Is Bella just some... temporary distraction?
Jasper realizes in horror that he's caused the breakup to happen as Bella sobs next to him (entirely too close and delicious smelling) saying that she should just get it over with so Edward can move on to Tanya and she always knew it was too good to be true!
Edward was just being nice to her!
This whole time!
Before Jasper can stop it, Bella dumps Edward with the "it's not you, it's me" speech and prepares to enter the rest of her life of miserable spinsterhood.
And all hell breaks loose.
You Better Fix This, Jasper!
Alice tells Jasper he better fix his own goddamn mess because he's just lost her her sister and best friend and Edward's wife all because he couldn't keep his stupid mouth closed.
Jasper feels genuinely horrible but legitimately doesn't understand. He was only being honest and telling Bella what Edward intended to do but hadn't had the courage to tell her yet. Surely, for a good relationship, they should be honest with each other.
Alice tells him that this is great, and all, except Edward wasn't being honest with himself either. He wants to dump Bella, but he can't, and he never will really be able to, so all Jasper did was cause a lot of drama about nothing and FIX THIS HUBBY! FIX THIS NOW!
Edward, of course, is livid about all of this and does not take it well when Jasper points out, again, that he was just telling Bella what Edward had told him and clearing the air. Why is this a problem?
Edward accuses Jasper of wanting Bella for himself. HE KNOWS SHE SMELLS DELICIOUS.
(Jasper can't even. He can't.)
Jasper, not sure what's even happening, goes to fix his mess and convince Bella that Edward was never actually going to dump her and the pair are hopelessly in love.
He Can't Do It
In the course of this, Jasper learns that Bella wasn't in love with Edward. She thinks she is, of course, but she doesn't even know Edward's favorite color. Turns out, she knows jack shit about Edward, and seems to have a minimal grasp on his personality.
Every part she lists off that she likes is essentially "vampire" and "pays attention to me"
Oh good god, Jasper thinks to himself.
He can't get these two back together.
Because Edward thinks Bella is genuinely in love with him. It would break him, if he finds out that Edward could pretty much be replaced with any single vampire who pays her any mind. It would be... so bad.
And if they turn her? What if she gets turned, she and Edward get married, and Alice gets her best friend and then all of them find out that Bella has no idea who any of these people even are? What if they all find out then after it's much too late?
It would be a disaster.
Jasper cannot get these two back together.
It Gets Worse
Jasper has to break the news to the family but...
He's learned that honesty is not the best policy. And he thinks Bella's young and stupid, and apparently very into the vampire aesthetic, but she's not necessarily a bad person.
It's not her fault she has a crush on Edward and doesn't realize it's only a crush.
So he... lies.
He tells the family that he agrees with Edward. That this is the best ending for Bella. She has a... bit of a messy break up now, but it's of her own accord, she'll have a human future, and she'll move on.
Edward does not take this well.
Especially as, deep down, he knows that Jasper's repeating his own arguments back to him. Turns out, it's very different when someone else says them as opposed to Edward saying them.
Edward throws a fit and accuses Jasper of just wanting to see him miserable and unhappy because he's jealous of Edward's control.
(Jasper still can't even)
He knows that Jasper's hiding something about this.
(Jasper's not about to admit that it's that Bella doesn't love him and is desperately blocking out that information.)
Edward becomes determined to win Bella back so that... he can dump her... later... on his own terms...
And sometime during this Jasper realizes, to his horror, that Edward doesn't love Bella either. He, in fact, is doing the same damn thing as Bella herself and seems to know next to nothing about her and just... likes how she smells. A lot.
Holy Jesus, Jasper thinks, what a mess.
It Gets Even Worse
In all this time, Jasper finds himself running between Bella and Edward, and feeling very guilty hangs out with Bella during the breakup. This unwittingly casts him into the role of Jacob Black, where he becomes Bella's source of validation.
Bella develops a crush on Jasper.
Now Alice is very upset with Jasper, accusing him of doing this on purpose, and ruining the entire family. She's so upset, in fact, that she claims there's no way out AND HE MIGHT AS WELL JUST DATE BELLA IF HE LIKES HER SO MUCH.
(He doesn't, he barely knows Bella, she seems nice and all, but this is all very fast and what is even happening?)
Edward comes to see Jasper as his most hated and sneaky rival and I imagine challenges him to a duel. Jasper, hoping to get this over with, wins very quickly.
He shouldn't have done that.
The Cullens as a unit implode. There's much nonsense and drama. And at the end of the day, I imagine Bella's turned anyway, perhaps because of the James fiasco, and Jasper finds himself suddenly married to Bella because everyone's decided he's married to Bella.
He has no idea what's even happening.

Thoughts on Jessica Stanley
I actually 100% agree with fandom on this.
Jessica is a great kid.
She’s immediately takes the new kid in when Bella starts at a new school, she goes out of her way to introduce her to the school and include her in the friend group. When she suspects Bella is interested in her long-time crush Mike, she is absolutely lovely about it. She asks Bella about it, and it’s not a leading or loaded question at all. Only when she has confirmed Bella’s not interested does she decide to make her move. This girl respects the sister code.
When Bella becomes a zombie in New Moon, Jessica is there for her the second Bella asks her to be. No reservations, no last-minute bail, no fuss at all, she’s totally on board with going on a long drive and to the theatre with Bella. The girl is solid.
Of course, that trip went to hell because Bella decided to put them both in danger of what looked like dangerous men, specifically because they looked dangerous, in spite of Jessica pleading with her not to. Bella didn’t feel at all bad about it either.
Bella is consistently bad at seeing things from other peoples’ point of view, which is why she did that in the first place and then never realized Jessica’s side of things.
To Bella, the fact that Jessica had a problem with her after Port Angeles was a Jessica problem. To Bella, this was a small thing and no big deal anyway, the important thing is she saw Edward. How Jessica might have experienced it was never even considered.
More, she never had a high regard of Jessica in the first place. Jessica likes to talk, to gossip, and she cares about things that Bella find unimportant. Bella doesn’t dislike Jessica, but she doesn’t particularly like her either.
She made that very clear, however unintentionally, in Port Angeles.
Jessica was well within her rights to set up strong boundaries after that. As it is, she seems to be a person Bella could have squared up with if she really wanted to, but Bella didn’t want to.
(I’m not saying any of this as a moral judgement against Bella. Yes, her behavior in PA was shitty, but she was never interested in Jessica and that’s no moral failing, it’s just who she is.)
As for Edward’s rather uncharitable view of Jessica, that’s because he’s a misogynist.
So these are my five cents on Jessica, she’s a great kid seen through the eyes of people who view her unfavorably for reasons that are none of her fault.

Secretary Part 1: Volturi Kings x Neutral!Reader
A/N: The parentheses next to the quotes are the translation to any words that are in Italian.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had been working as the new secretary for the Volturi for a week now. I had been lucky with the few guards, that didn't have a stick up their asses, were nice enough to tell me what to avoid that would cause my death. The secretaries got killed for the stupidest of reasons.
I only took the job because I desperately needed the money even if the job seemed sketchy. My family didn't help get me better off finacially but put me in even more debt. The immortality part was just a bonus to the job.
I had manage to not piss the kings or the guards off thus far, but that could easily change with Caius' temper. He's been out for my head since the day he met me. Thanks to Aro and Marcus I have been able to avoid Caius' wrath for the most part. Aro and Marcus were neutral to me being there. They would tell Caius to stop threatening me whenever he saw me.
It was late and I was going to be off duty in 15 minutes, so I got up to deliver the letter that they got in the mail. I had decided that giving them their mail before I was let off for the night gave me a better chance of survival, since the kings were also ready to retire for the night.
I walked in to the underground Throne room and gave my best smile as to not get on their bad side.
"Ah, young y/n has brought us something." Aro's eagerly said as he got off his throne and walked to the edge of the platform.
"They should not have interrupted." Caius stated his hatred for me loud and clear to everyone in the room. Always had something to say about whatever I did.
"They're new." Aro half-ass defended me.
"Aren't they all?" Marcus rasped out. For once Marcus was doing something besides being depressed!
I watched Caius smirk at the joke, smug bastard. I had to focus on why I was here as to not want to slap Caius.
I stepped up on the first step and extended the sliver tray to Aro with the letter on it. They INSISTED that I use this stupid tray when I gave them letters. Surprisingly I wasn't that bother by the kings being vampires and didn't really fear them which was why I was comfortable being this close to Aro.
Aro took the letter from the tray as he gave me when of his creepy smiles that I have gotten use to at this point. He opened the letter and started speaking Italian. "L'amore ci mantiene tutti giovani. Bella and Edward are to be married." (Love keeps us all young)
Marcus once again spoke "What joy." Now the depression was back, it never went far from Marcus.
"This is the Cullen's way of announcing her transformation? They mock us with their delays." Caius declared. Always the first to want to start a war with someone.
Aro turned to look at Caius. "Patience, brother." He reminded him. Like Caius ever had patience in his life.
Aro put the envelope on the tray, while Marcus and Caius began to stand from their thrones.
"Though you do have a point," Aro's airy voice muttered, "The human did interput." He dropped his happy sharade at the end of his sentence as he gently brushed my face with his finger. By then, Marcus and Caius were by his side.
I sighed, knowing this was the end of the line for me. I turned around and walked over to Felix and Demetri.
"Alright, kill me now boys! I know you have been wanting to do it since you met me!" I exclaimed loudly, I just wanted to get this over with as fast as possible. Better a quick death than a slow one.
Felix and Demetri looked over at Aro for approval but Aro only chuckled. "So easily willing to let us end your life. You're such a fascinating human." Aro fondly expressed.
Then these motherfuckers just walked away while Aro was saying "Oh, I do love weddings."
I just stared at the door they left out of. Why am I still alive? I questioned that as I headed back to my room, ignoring the bodies on my way out of the underground throne room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day went like it normally would. Caius insulting me every second he got, most guards glaring at me, Marcus being depressed, and Aro's creepy tendencies.
Everything was going well and I was about to leave early for the day until I got an email. The email was about a job application regarding my position as a secretary for the Volturi. Apparently someone sent this woman an email saying the position is open and she could start tomorrow. Now I did what any sane person would do when they realize they were about to get fired, which meant death. I went to the store, got some alcohol, got my favorite ice cream, got my favorite snacks, and enjoyed my last few hours of life.
Sadly, at about one in the morning someone had opened my door to check on me. I was still awake, drunk, eating ice cream, surrounded by snacks, and binge watching my favorite show on TV all while crying out of my own self pity. Why did I take this stupid job?!
"Carissimo? Why are you still awake?" (Dearest) That voice was Marcus. Sweet and slow as always. I was gonna miss that voice, no matter how depressed he could be.
I laughed bitterly as I continued to eat my ice cream. "Like you care, you get to have a brand new secretary tomorrow!" I mockingly joked.
Marcus gently grabbed my face and turned it to look at him. "You are unbelievably drunk and crying. Why are you this way, piccolo?" (Little one)
I moved my face out of his hand. "Why do you care? I won't be your problem tomorrow." I growled angrily as I stabbed my ice cream with my spoon.
Marcus had finally left after a minute of staring me down. Unfortunately, he came back with Aro and Caius.
I could feel Caius trying to glare holes in my head with his stare as soon as he saw the state that I was in. Aro was immediately by my side mumbling something in Italian that I couldn't bother to translate.
"If you're going to glare at me the whole time your here then leave." I said as I glared back at Caius. Something I never did since I met the kings. Mostly for fear of them killing me on the spot. What the hell did I have to lose at this point?
"Caro, why are you drunk and crying?" (Dear) Aro's normal cheery voice was laced with concern.
"What does it matter? I'll be dead in a few hours. Can't have one last night to enjoy being alive? Too much to ask from a bunch of vampires?" I grumbled angrily while finishing my ice cream. What was with all the sudden new pet names anyway? They normally call me by name, or rarely they say "human" just to mess with me.
"Who told you that you were going to die tomorrow?" Aro calmly asked.
I rolled my eyes and answered. "No one because no one has the balls to say it to my face that I'm no longer useful." I than look up at Caius again to glare at him. "You couldn't wait to get rid of me, could you?"
I put my empty tub of ice cream on my nightstand, I would deal with it tomorrow. I am too drunk to be wondering the halls for the kitchen. Since the kings weren't going to leave any time soon, I made myself comfortable. Put my pillows against my headboard and wrapped myself in my blanket.
Caius hadn't said a word since he got here and quite frankly, it was pissing me off. "For once the most feared king doesn't have a damn thing to say. Shocker." I snarked at him. Marcus and Aro were quietly chuckling at my antics, which made me turn my glare to them.
"You're like an insufferable toddler when drunk." Caius snarked back at me. I tried to get up and punch him in the face, but Marcus cuddled me in his lap while sitting on my bed. I could enjoy this little bit of comfort from Marcus before I die. Punching Caius in the face would be a pleasure I could do before I died tomorrow.
Aro just had to ruin the moment by trying to read my thoughts. I tried to move away but Marcus kept my arms in place so Aro could touch me. I huff at being ganged up on like this.
After a minute, Aro pulled away and had become eerily quiet. That was never a good thing with Aro, someone normally died when Aro was quiet. Marcus was gently rubbing my back which was causing me to relax and finally fall asleep. The last thing I saw was Caius finally moving away from that stupid doorway.

If it had been Jasper-Sadie or Alice-Sadie as the vampires and finding their third later, how if at all would any of the “prior” story (the Twilght saga proper) have changed?
This turns the timeline inside out, but Meyer was never great at those anyway.
(Hi, if you're from the Twilight fandom stumbling across this post without context, Sadie is my OC in a yandere Alice/yandere Jasper/OC fic that you can read here.)
Ohhh, so much potential there! I can't answer that in full, because doing so would spoil what Sadie's potential vampire ability is. (Super sorry about that. Feel free to ask again after that information has come up in Rule One!)
I can say that both Bella and Edward would take to confiding in her and seeking her counsel with regards to their relationship. Especially if it's a Sadie-Alice duo; Edward would be super close with both Sadie and Alice (like he's close with Alice in canon), and while he sometimes gets frustrated with Alice, he pretty much always respects Sadie. It's like, Alice would be Bella's best friend and Edward's partner in crime (since she's still the one who would agree to kidnap Bella, whereas Sadie would never), and Sadie would be Bella's confidante and Edward's moral compass. Both Bella and Edward would go to Sadie for advice about each other, and Sadie, though startled by their neediness, would always have something valuable to say.
(Picture Bella or Edward bursting into Sadie's room with a question, and Sadie, wide-eyed, putting down whatever she's doing and saying, "Alrighty then, have a seat.)
Edward trusts that Sadie wouldn't lie to him, so the urgency in having Bella run to him in Italy before he sparkles in front of people (lest he read Alice's thoughts and assume she's lying to him) wouldn't be a thing; Sadie just runs Bella to Edward with vampire speed and is subjected to that whole reunion as an awkward third wheel while Alice parks the stolen car.
Also, Sadie would tip every fight slightly more in favor of the Cullens, but she would also have a habit of really wanting to talk to the enemies instead of attacking them. This is good/useful with the Volturi but not so good/useful with Victoria and Riley.
Oh! Also, Sadie would realize that Victoria will probably follow Edward's scent, in Eclipse, and Sadie would accompany him and Bella in sitting the battle out, so that they have more backup against Victoria. Jasper and Alice wouldn't be privy to the fact that Victoria is coming; this is just a realization that Sadie has that Edward hears in her mind. (As far as Jasper and Alice are concerned, Sadie is sitting the battle out just to be safe, and they're happy that she won't be in harm's way.) This is where Sadie's need to talk to enemies would become a problem, because both Victoria and Riley are too far gone to listen to reason, but Sadie really believes in them and wants to convince them they don't have to die today. It still turns out fine, though. Sadie gets a little hurt, but she's fine. Alice and Jasper would be absolutely smothering, after. Victoria is lucky she's already dead, because they would make her suffer.
And Sadie would think to explain things to Irina before Alice realizes that Irina is going to the Volturi, so that whole misunderstanding never happens.
All of that being said, the thought of "Yandere Alice meets Sadie first" and "Yandere Jasper meets Sadie first" got really interesting to me. So I have to talk about those scenarios immediately.
I'm going to place Sadie sometime in the twentieth century in both cases, and I'm going to try to let the time period matter as little as possible, but feel free to imagine them in 50s or 60s attire, lol. (Or 70s or 80s; again, it doesn't matter that much; I'm just placing her in the twentieth century to keep the rough order of events the same, kind of.) I'm approaching this with the assumption that Alice and Jasper still become vampires in the same way/at the same time as they do in canon; they just meet at different times. I'm not dealing with the Confederate thing here, though, because I'll be dealing with it in Rule One.
I'm gonna go ahead and put it all under the cut. (And if your experience of Rule One is more invested in the potential for wholesome romance than the yandere aspect, maybe the rest of this isn't for you, because this is definitely more yandere-leaning, lol.)
Alice-Sadie
Alice knows three things: 1. Her own name. 2. That she is going to join the Cullens. 3. That Sadie, whom she has not yet met, is her soulmate.
Though she slips up every now and then, Alice does her best not to eat humans. She wants to fit in with the Cullens by the time she finds them, so she's accustoming herself to the animal diet. Anyway, she has a mate out there whom she will meet as a human, and she has to get herself under control before she can risk being around her.
The thing is, Alice knows about Sadie before Sadie is actually an option, so she has to kill time so that she doesn't meet Sadie too early. And Alice hates waiting, so she goes ahead and introduces herself to the Cullens before Sadie. She tells them all about how she'll have a soulmate soon, and how it's killing her to keep her distance but she knows things will be way better if she never meets Sadie as a child. She decorates her room with things that Sadie likes, anticipating that one day she'll be sharing the room with Sadie. Honestly, if it weren't for Edward's mind reading, the rest of the Cullens might think Sadie was an imaginary friend or something.
(Rosalie would normally take issue with Alice's plans to intrude on the life of a human she's never met just because of a potential future where they're in love, but she doesn't really take Alice's fantasizing seriously until it's too late.)
One day, Alice just sort of disappears from the Cullen house, and only Edward knows where she's gone.
Sadie is finally at the right age; it's time.
Alice appears in Sadie's life, and everything she says and does is perfect. She rockets from stranger to friend to best friend at an impressive rate, her precognition easily compensating for Sadie's hesitancy (and Sadie would start off more wary than she is in Rule One, due to the time period). Having left the rest of the Cullens, for the time being, there is nothing (read: no one) holding Alice back from being absolutely surgical about making herself important in Sadie's life and subtly isolating her. She gives expensive gifts, and comprehensive compliments, and she always knows what to say to make Sadie like and trust her more.
When Sadie starts to become suspicious about the evolution of their friendship, Alice drops the vampire bomb and the soulmate bomb all at once, showing Sadie her speed and strength and sparkles. There was no better way to do it. Alice checked; this was the absolute best set of circumstances for the reveal.
Sadie asks for time to process the information. She asks for space. Alice graciously allows it; she's practically living with Sadie at this point, anyway. (Not that Sadie knows it. But yeah, she's in Sadie's house pretty much 24/7 (minus her hunting trips), dodging notice with stealth and psychic powers.)
When Sadie is ready to talk again, Alice pours out every reassurance: how she will never stop loving her; how she would never hurt her; how she thinks about her all the time and loves her so much. Sadie isn't fully won over by the whole vampire lover concept, but Alice does convince her to come meet her family.
They go to the Cullen house. Alice shows her off to everyone, and Rosalie is stunned, and Emmett laughs incredulously. Edward and Carlisle make polite introductions, and Esme hugs her, just glad to see Alice so happy. (Esme has been so worried about her newest daughter, so flighty and constantly pining for someone who wasn't there. And then she disappeared, and anything could have happened to her! But now she's back, and she's brought someone lovely, and she looks happier than Esme has ever seen her.) Carlisle and Edward give Sadie a more in-depth explanation of how vampires operate and why the bond between mates is a big deal. Esme cooks her a huge meal. Before they know it, nighttime has come, and Sadie falls asleep in Alice's room.
She wasn't drugged or anything; Alice just perfectly orchestrated a set of circumstances in which she would be tired by this exact time.
When she wakes up, Alice is an utter angel, offering her breakfast and a bath and telling her that there's more to see, around the house. She hasn't seen Rosalie's garage, yet! She hasn't seen Esme's garden. And soon enough she's sleeping over again.
On that third day at the house, Rosalie pulls Sadie aside to say that she'll drive Sadie home, if Sadie needs her to. But Alice has done her job well; Sadie likes Alice, and she likes the Cullens, and most of all, she's so curious about vampires and the world thereof. She's willing to stay and learn, provided she can visit her friends and family, and provided Alice doesn't try to change her. She fills several journals with what she learns about vampires, all in the span of a single year. She learns so much, and she's never satisfied that she's learned enough.
When Alice asks her to let Carlisle change her, she chooses exactly the right conversation, exactly the right approach, and exactly the right time. Sadie agrees and becomes a vampire. (She kind of has to, for this prompt, lol.) Rosalie is annoyed, but she knows that Sadie thought the matter over thoroughly.
When the day comes that Alice sees Jasper in their future, she drags Sadie off to meet him, barely explaining herself beyond "We have another mate!". Sadie goes along with it because she's used to Alice's antics.
They meet this crimson-eyed, roguishly handsome vampire, and Jasper is pretty instantly enthralled with them both. He's curious about their golden eyes, charmed by Alice's forwardness, and amused by Sadie's mix of intrigue and wariness. The emotional flavor of Alice's joy and cheerfulness, and of Sadie's curiosity and uncertainty, are enough to pretty much have him wrapped around their fingers right away.
Sadie's reaction is more "Ohhhh, Alice, this guy eats people..."
Alice just goes, "It's okay. Jasper will be willing to change his diet if we ask him to. Won't you, Jasper?"
And it's so presumptuous, but also he's into it, because Sadie has already made it clear that eating humans is a deal-breaker for her, and he doesn't want this meeting to end.
He joins the family, and it feels like the best thing ever; he has two amazing soulmates, and he belongs to a large coven that will always be safe from strangers. The animal-eating thing is a downside, but there's no help for that.
The dynamic for the next little while is that Alice is already in love with both Jasper and Sadie, Jasper is already in love with Alice and Sadie, and Sadie is in love with Alice and polite to Jasper but isn't quite sure about him. Like, she's in a peculiar place of "We are soulmates, and I do like you and feel an attraction to you, and I understand how our personalities are good together, but I don't know how long it'll take me to become comfortable with your past", and Jasper is just falling over himself to earn her approval, but she's comfortable with allowing it to take time.
(Rosalie is secretly very entertained by the whole thing, and Emmett is not-so-secretly entertained.)
Unlike in canon, Jasper would never suggest eating any human ever again; even once Sadie is comfortable with him, he never wants to risk making her doubt him the way she did in the beginning.
Jasper-Sadie
So at this point in his life, Jasper is eating people. His eyes are bright red, and he is ruthless, and Alice isn't around to temper that side of him.
This is absolutely a kidnapping situation.
When he runs into Sadie (entirely by happenstance), he doesn't know immediately that he is in love with her; he just knows that he wants to follow her, so he does. He stalks after her like he has stalked lots of prey in the past. Her blood doesn't sing to him, though; after several hours of just tailing her, he realizes that he just likes to hear her breathe and speak and laugh. He likes to look at her. He likes to taste her emotions on the air. He likes this human.
Then he realizes that he's in love with her, as much as Peter is in love with Charlotte.
He never wants to stop looking at her, listening to her talk...
He manages to get her alone, and he introduces himself in a charismatic, gentlemanly fashion. He kisses the back of her hand (managing to ignore the feel and sound of her pulse so close; he shouldn't take a risk like that again) and says, "Good afternoon, ma'am. My name is Jasper Whitlock. May I ask what your name is?"
She notices the coldness of his skin and the redness of his eyes (and again, time-period-wise, this interaction is very weird), but he is sending her the most powerful waves of comfort and calm that he can. She is dazed and perplexed, but not afraid, as she answers, "I'm Sadie Gilder."
It's the most beautiful name he has ever heard.
He abducts her pretty much then and there; he leads her away with a request that she accompany him and a heavy layer of mood control. Sadie is able to break out of the daze (through sheer overthinking) after they've walked together awhile; by the time she asks, "Wait, where are we?", they've reached the secluded mansion of an old widow.
(Jasper doesn't need a place to sleep, but his Sadie does, so he quickly identified this place as the best option.)
The order in which Jasper eats the occupants of the house and brings Sadie inside the house is up to your imagination, as is whether or not Sadie ends up seeing any bodies or seeing him with blood on his face and clothes. Either way, just the kidnapping itself is enough to have Sadie panicking, and he hates to feel her fear.
He holds her, gives her calming energy, and whispers to her. "Don't be scared. I won't hurt you, Perfect Sadie. I won't eat you. You're too special. Just gonna keep you right here." (He's just eaten a lot of people, so he's okay with breathing right next to her, so that he can keep whispering to her.) She falls asleep in his arms. He doesn't stop holding her, and he doesn't stop whispering. (Also, remember how the first thing he says to Sadie in Rule One is that she's warm and soft? Yeah, he still says that, pretty much verbatim, in this scenario. I'm not putting it in quotes, because it sounds dirty in a kidnapping context, but he for sure says it.)
The next day, since he's keeping up the comforting vibes to keep her from being afraid, Sadie asks Jasper a lot of questions. He tells her everything he knows about vampires. He isn't fully versed in vampire mating, so he isn't able to really inform her that his obsession with her is, to some degree, an inherent vampire trait, but he is very good at conveying to her that he is obsessed.
With no one to tell him to cool it with his power, and with his diet of human blood making his power more potent than it would be on animal blood, Jasper uses it at pretty much full capacity every time, instead of subtle shifts in emotion. So, while Sadie does notice that it's happening, she can't keep herself from the effects of his power by self-awareness alone.
He generally doses her with the same kind of peaceful calm he uses when he meets strange vampires for the first time, instead of the lethargic calm he uses to keep prey docile. He uses the latter when he wants her to sleep, but for the most part he just wants her to be unfearful and communicative.
She eats the food that's in the house. When he's able to convince himself to leave her unattended (usually after he's put her to sleep), he picks up more groceries and abducts some humans for himself. He keeps them in the cellar, far enough away from Sadie that she needn't know they're there but close enough that he can still hear her when he goes down to eat them. It's actually very convenient, not to have to hunt often; he just has to pop down to the cellar and enjoy a few of the already-injured occupants. Having a steady home has its upside. It's a shame someone will eventually notice the widow missing and he'll have to move with Sadie. But there will always be another empty mansion, or a mansion that can be easily made empty.
(When it's time to change homes, Jasper carries Sadie to the new destination while she's sleeping.)
Partially due to the mood control and partially due to the upfront-ness of everything, there's honestly very little tension between them. There's fear, sometimes (The one time Sadie tries to leave the mansion while Jasper is eating, he runs up from the cellar to stop her, and he's still covered in blood, and she's terrified, and it takes him a lot of soothing to get her calm again. It upsets him when she's scared.), but no tension. Sadie would like to leave, but she gathers that she can't, so all there is to do is maneuver within the new situation and learn more about her captor.
And neither of them is inherently a romantic. Jasper loves her, but even he isn't under the impression that they're dating or something. As far as he's concerned, he's keeping her; as far as she's concerned, she's studying him. Jasper is ecstatic with the arrangement, and Sadie is as comfortable as the situation allows.
Peter and Charlotte follow Jasper's scent at some point, wanting to hang out, and Jasper socializes with them outside the mansion, explaining that they can't go in because there's a human inside whom he is invested in keeping alive, and he can't risk them eating her. When they learn that he's in love, they ask if he plans on changing her, but he says that he can't yet. His control isn't good enough.
One day, Alice shows up.
She meets Jasper while he's in town, gathering food for Sadie and himself. They still have the little "You kept me waiting" "My apologies" flirtation, but he's a little more guarded, because he has to get back to Sadie, and as much as he is already beguiled by this weird-eyed stranger, he doesn't want her following him home. She's a vampire, and no vampires are allowed near his Sadie.
Alice really wants to skip the wooing; she's already seen herself with Jasper and Sadie. But she knows that mentioning Sadie too soon could make Jasper defensive, so she has to sprinkle herself slowly into Jasper's life, meeting him when he comes to town and letting his instinctive attraction and fondness for her grow into trust over a span of months (even moving towns when he does). She doesn't say anything about him switching to an animal diet, either; she tells him that she eats animals, but trying to influence him at this stage could alter her chances of seeing Sadie. Better to just let him murder.
Once they're at the right place, trust-wise, she tells him that she is already as in love with Sadie as she is with him, due to her psychic visions, and she asks to meet her. At first, Jasper isn't ready, but after she's asked a few more times, he allows it.
Alice has to be extra careful, because she wants to just run and hug Sadie as soon as she sees her, but if she makes a sudden move, Jasper will react badly. (Especially since the speed that comes with her small frame makes her a genuine threat to Sadie, even with Jasper there.) Not to mention, she has to endear herself to Sadie, whose only experience with vampires has been abduction.
"Sadie Lily Gilder," Alice says, barely restraining her excitement. "I am Alice Cullen. I'm your other soulmate."
Sadie is mostly perplexed and a little exasperated, but Jasper feels suddenly as if the sun has broken through the clouds. (Which means a lot, since he was already happy before.) Alice's joy at finally getting to see Sadie seems to fill the room, and this is his first time hearing Sadie's middle name, and...
"I like seeing you together," he realizes.
For the next few months, Alice is allowed to visit Sadie every now and then, under full supervision from Jasper. He can feel that she loves Sadie as much as he does, but he's still got to be careful. Humans are so fragile, and he's used to only trusting himself. When she comes, Alice brings Sadie little gifts that she never thought to ask Jasper before. She brings a new spritely energy to the house that Sadie comes to enjoy.
The following few months, (and after Jasper has watched her hunt animals) she's allowed to stay over full-time. They watch Sadie sleep, together. She's able to answer more of Sadie's questions.
Alice introduces Jasper to the idea of joining a family she's seen in their future. He doesn't want that many vampires around their Sadie, but as always, Alice says just the right things: they're all animal eaters; she hasn't seen a single future where any of them hurt Sadie; and the eldest of them could change Sadie for them.
(She also has to convince Sadie to want to become immortal with them, since she knows that Carlisle and Edward would be against turning her against her will. It helps that Sadie has been captured by a vampire for a while, now, and being a vampire herself would give her a chance of exerting some control over her future.)
When they meet the Cullens, Alice acts like they're already best friends. Jasper is more formal in asking the patriarch if he can change Sadie for them.
Edward calls them out on kidnapping Sadie, but Sadie points out that, unless things come to blows between the Cullens and Alice and Jasper, the only way for her to no longer be kidnapped is by becoming a vampire.
So Carlisle changes her, and she stays with the Cullens so that she can have someone to help her overcome her thirst during her newborn years without slipping up and hurting someone. Alice and Jasper stay with the Cullens, too (and the Cullens tell Jasper that he has to switch to the animal diet if he wants to stay). Eventually, all three of them are close enough to various members of the Cullen family that they just sort of become part of it.
Having been kidnapped at the start of all this, though, Sadie exerts her autonomy in pretty much every way. In her newborn years, in which she is more temperamental (though that isn't saying much; she's still pretty mellow by newborn vampire standards), she confronts Jasper for what he did, and he pretty much just takes it; things have worked out pretty great for him, so it's only fair to let her get it off her chest. Sadie can feel the bond between her and Alice and Jasper, but she can also feel that he didn't have to do what he did. She goes to visit her human family, once she knows that she won't eat them; she and Rosalie go on lengthy road trips; she and Emmett go to football games; she goes volunteering and home renovating with Esme; she learns languages and musical instruments from Edward; she learns vampire history from Carlisle and even joins him on a trip to Volterra.
She lets Alice buy her clothes but overall gives Jasper a wide berth.
Alice, having gained full trust from Jasper, is able to convince him to allow Sadie her space for a while, as she comes to terms with everything that happened. Jasper agrees, since Sadie isn't so fragile anymore and he knows that Alice is keeping an eye on her. So long as they know where Sadie is at all times, and so long as she is accompanied by at least one of the Cullens, he can bear to spend uninterrupted one-on-one time with his newest mate, especially if doing so will help Sadie to forgive him.
The diet of animal blood makes him less wild (but more tense, as he can feel that he is weaker), and the newness of everything in Sadie's life raises her spirits. Maybe eventually she'll be willing to hang out with him again, but it'll take a few years.
