.Shift by channeling.

Go to your DRs by channeling, again, step to step guide.

This can be used as a separate method, or you could use this when you need a final push.

This isn't the spiritual type of channeling, nor do you need to use AI or something, nor do you get possessed.

Step 1:

Before attempting to shift, choose a person from your DR. It could be your S/O, you can choose to channel multiple people, if you have a friend group or something, but i recommend picking someone whom you have a close connection with in your DR.

Have a voice claim ready, take some times to look at the person's pictures, remember their physical attributes, focus on their personality.

(You can listen to songs which remind you of your relationship with that person)

Step 2:

Lay down, when you're prepared to shift. You're going to start off saying affirmations like it's a normal shifting method.

If you can visualize, i recommend you think of visual affirmations which relate to your DR.

Its a method to affirm, where you go around your DR, whether it's your DR house, room, or a memorable or nostalgic place in your DR, and see your normal shifting affs, carved, written around, for example, your affs formed by clouds, carved into pillars and tables, written on your clothes, finding papers or letter which say your affirmations (so Affirmations ∝ Your DR)

You should try to be hype fixated, so if you are fidgeting, can't stay still, you're too engrossed in what's going on inside your mind to notice your body itching or twitching.

Do this until your symptoms intensifies or reach a peak, everyone feels differently, for some it's more physical (seeing light flashes, tingles, floating) for some it's mental (having a gut feeling, feeling euphoric) so don't get discouraged.

You aren't doing anything wrong.

Step 3:

This is where we come across our special person. While you're seeing your affs, make yourself meet them. Now, if you're confused and going to say this isn't channeling, then just stop. You're creating this reality and undoubtedly every moment you're experiencing, so when you're in a deeply concentrated phase, the only thing that could possibly stop you from having a very real and authentic meeting with your SP is your own self-doubt (anyways, if you're having self doubt then say an aff or two to combat them)

Your SP is standing right in front of you, let yourself loose at this point. No need to force anything scripted, but if you want then you can.

Have a conversation with your SP, whether it's initiated by you or your SP.

Maybe even invite them to drink tea, sit outside, take them to a secret spot.

Now you're having a conversation with them, starting off with your conscious thoughts doing the talking from your part, whatever your SP says is your subconsciousness speaking, or you're directly channeling them (both of which are the same thing, i hate being repetitive, you're creating reality if you believe you're being channeled by your SP, then that's what's happening)

Start off with a normal conversation, like how'd you talk to someone, someone you love and know very well.

Right now, you're going to say a very specific affirmation:

"(your SP's name) is just about to ask me what i was doing in my OR/void reality."

Then let the conversation take a natural turn. That question will eventually be asked, your loved one is just very curious about why you were away from them.

Now, what you will answer back will be the way how to shift.

"Oh, must be a fever dream, i had never had a dream so real, i was touching everything, each and everything felt legit." (best for permashifters, don't be afraid of using this if you intend to come back)

"I guess it was out of responsibility, but don't worry, i'm here now."

"I don't know myself, all i know i didn't like being there."

"I was curious, that's all; you know i like exploring new things, and come on, it was a whole new universe, but now i want to rest at home."

Whatever your SP says in response, whether they're asking you to come join them, or how they're glad you're back, just nod back.

Step 4:

Go to sleep in your DR, if you recall, you're in your home. Go towards your bed, crash down, close your eyes.

From this point onwards, you're going to embody your DR self and fall asleep acting normal, completely abandon the fact that you were shifting, or that you have shifted to your DR, act like a person (your DR self) living in any other world (your DR)

I described this in details in the third phase of my pinned post, you're supposed to do all that.

You'll wake up in your DR.

Why is this method supposed to work?

Connection to your DR environment ✔

Logically explains your involvement with your previous reality, why you were there for so long ✔

Reminds your consciousness that you've successfully shifted ✔

Connection to your loved ones in your DR ✔

Most importantly, connection to your DR self ✔

...

That's the method, you can also shift in between the method as well. There really isn't any reason for you to wake back in your CR, listen to some subliminals to remove intrusive thoughts, then you're good.

You could also make it so your SP had more control over your shift, like they brought you back, you can modify the method according to your wishes.

It's a short and sweet method, believe in your abilities and you'll be out of here faster than lightning.

This method is heavily focused on visualizing, if you have aphantasia then your DR SP can just speak to you, when you eventually cross over to your DR self's state of mind (if they can visualize) you'll get the ability to visualize like them, or get flashes of images.

The MMA 2018 seating arrangement switch is one of those moments that perfectly encapsulates why so many people (including those who are reluctant to see them in a romantic light) find Jungkook and Jimin's dynamic fascinating. Before Jimin sits next to Jungkook, he looks composed but somewhat serious or detached. Almost like he's passively existing in the moment. He's physically present but not necessaring expressive.

After Jimin sits next to Jungkook his whole demeanor changes instantly. His posture becomes more relaxed, his facial expressions become livelier and there's an unmissable light in his eyes. Its like a silent but obvious Oh, you're here! moment.

This is more fascinating and interesting because it is a natural, unconscious reaction. The fact that his expression changes so naturally and effortlessly suggests that Jimin genuinely affects his mood.

We all have people who make us feel instantly at ease. The way Jungkook responds to Jimin's presence is so automatic that it feels deeply ingrained. It suggests that Jimin is a personal source of comfort for him. Jimin brings out a side of Jungkook that is warm, free and full of joy.

Sometimes the strongest bonds don't need words. The way his body language adjusts and how his face softens says a lot. Its in the subtle details that you see the real connection.

This isn't an isolated incident. There have been multiple instances where Jungkook's mood or energy seems to brighten around Jimin.

Why would he say this?

Surely he's been on many trips. Even in 2023 apart from those trips for AYS with Jimin he went on other trips with his friends. So why would he say the trips for AYS were the best?

Because it was with Jimin. That's what made it the best experience for him. Traveling and exploring with his bf.

Its for this same reason we get to see a shift in Jungkook's demeanor after the seat switch in MMA 2018.

Jungkook is naturally close with all the BTS members and he has many other friendships outside of BTS but there's no denying there's something unique and deep about the way he interacts with Jimin.

We have seen how even in group settings Jungkook often ends up near Jimin. Whether its at award shows, interviews or casual moments he naturally gravitates to Jimin.

Jungkook is affectionate with all the members but his level of touchiness and physical comfort with Jimin is distinct. He often leans on Jimin, seeks out hugs or casual touches. He is protective around Jimin, loves to cook for him and doesn't hesitate to show his emotions openly when they're together.

If it weren't for Jimin I don't think we would have gotten to see Jungkook's naturally uninhibited, warm, affectionate and romantic side.

there is a bit of a discourse on twitter about whether Mythal was a slave owner. What is your take on this? I’ve seen arguments that her vallaslin was a mark of honour and she “protected her people”. But also if that was the case, why would Solas remove his marks and propose to do the same to Lavellan?

I wonder if that’s another evidence of her character being sanitised in DAV compared to lore, revealed in DAI

it has genuinely never occurred to me that mythal would not be a slave owner. we know the evanuris practiced slavery. we know the only one who did not was fen'harel, as a result there is no fen'harel vallaslin. there is however a mythal vallaslin both presently and anciently, worn by felassan, abelas, and all of the temple sentinels at the least, and by solas himself once if you assume that is the meaning of cole's comment about him burning her off his face, which i do make that assumption. solas says mythal "was the best" of the evanuris, but that is an extremely low bar. we also now know that she was a driving force behind the war with the titans and their tranquilization and the destruction of the dwarven empire, and she admits to using solas as a weapon of war. i am not sure why any of these things would lead anyone to believe that she is morally above enslaving people. we have literally met the people she enslaved. whether or not they were "devoted" or "willing" (ew) is irrelevant in the context of her power as an evanuris.

i think perhaps dragon age was gearing up pre-veilguard to explore the vallaslin much more in depth however it ended up erasing it completely so we will never know. its possible that vallaslin had multiple meanings, and did not always denote enslavement but could denote enslavement depending on the circumstances. my own understanding pre-vg was that the vallaslin probably interacted with other factors, such as class/wealth, power, and personal favoritism, to varying degrees of personal and political agency so that not every person with mythal's vallaslin would have the same exact experience. solas's experience clearly was unique and we see that in the way that their relationship is presented in his murals, and how they continue to have a relationship even after he has removed his own (assuming thats the timeline and not that they just completely retconned him having vallaslin in the first place lol). but just because solas sees mythal in a forgiving light (sometimes, he goes back and forth, which does make sense considering his complex feelings about her) does not mean mythal was, objectively, that way. its pretty heavily implied that he had major rose colored glasses on for her, and its likely he only saw a certain side of her. we can probably assume that elgar'nan saw a very different one. we have a lot of different perceptions of her from different sources, and different literal fragments of her personality. we also know she changed quite drastically overtime and was corrupted from benevolence into retribution. it is difficult to say with certainty what she was like because the game does not tell us.

however enslavement is enslavement and i think we should be frank about it even if veilguard isnt interested in touching on it. "but she was a good slave-owner!" is a dangerous sentiment reflective of real life, anti-abolition arguments during the american civil war that revisionist racists and white supremacists still use today and i think people should take great care not to espouse the same, even in the context of a fantasy world.

OKAY POSTING THIS NOW. I might do a part two sometime, he rots in my brain so im bound to come up w new ideas and stuff but for now this'll do :thumbs_up:

GENERAL STUFF

White, Italian-American but he's not too connected with his Italian heritage

In his early to mid 20s, ran away from home after committing his crimes when he was around 16 and he became a proxy for Slenderman after being on the run for 2 years, making him 18 when he was recruited

Jeff the bisexual, not that he realized/accepted it for a long time

Around 5’8’’/178cm, probably tells ppl he’s taller ngl

He's got light blue eyes and naturally brunette hair that he dyes black

He got into a burn accident when he was younger, an incident that finally flipped a switch on him for good

The burn marks are mostly spread across his upper body, his legs are pretty much free of any damage

The gushes on his cheeks never healed properly or closed as he did them poorly, leaving the edges ripped and uneven

The pain it caused has numbed overtime and he rarely feels it anymore

He managed to partly blind himself by having gone ahead and tried cutting his bottom eyelids in a poor attempt at stopping himself from ever crying (he was a mess and struggling with himself at that point) but he couldn't go fully through with it after he freaked himself out with the damage it did to his left eye

He's got scars all over his body, most of them are from fights with others

He actually wears those battle scars with pride, in his mind they make him seem cool and strong and he even brags about them

Very, very, VERY rare to see him without face paint on. It's not that he’s trying to conceal the damage his face has gone through, he just thinks the white face paint fits him better. Live laugh love guyliner as well

His makeup is waterproof and he even sleeps in it multiple nights in a row, he doesn’t care, he'll just touch it up if he needs to

His eyesight is below average but in his opinion he sees just fine even when he has to squint

PERSONALITY

He can be an annoying bastard when he wants, it's natural for him to be an asshole

If you're a stranger to him he has no problem being borderline harassing with his behaviour and it's worse if he's provoked in some way

It's very easy to pick a fight with him as he's easily irritable and when he fights, no matter if it's verbal or physical, it can get real nasty real fast

If you even look at him funny when he's having a bad day, you most likely will end up on his blacklist

That's to say he’s def got some anger issues he never got to work through when he was younger

The easiest way to befriend him is to impress him, otherwise he's not too interested in getting to know you

When one does befriend him and they become closer, they have to endure his playful banter, jokes and his smug behaviour

He's egoistical for sure. Whether his massive ego is a cover up for his issues with himself he'll never tell.

If you stroke his ego he’ll probs smirk to himself and receive it with no problem, but too much is too much and he’ll get annoyed cause then he just feels like you’re either not serious or you want something from him

Needless to say he prioritizes himself and the people he actually cares about, otherwise he's indifferent or dismissive of others

He's pretty much an ambivert. He can be by himself fine and he prefers it most of the time but he also seeks out the presence of other people from time to time

he’s also kind of an attention hogger, blame that on growing up with his parents not caring enough (doesn’t matter if it’s good or bad attention, both satisfy him)

He’s kind of reckless, rather acts before he thinks and sometimes it works in his favor, sometimes it bites him in the ass and if someone were to point that out he’d probably curse them out or something (he’s bad at admitting he’s wrong)

MUSIC PREFERENCES

He definitely thinks of himself as a music connoisseur of sorts

He’s a huge fan and listens to music pretty much whenever he can

He’s also got different playlists for different vibes. For example when he goes out (to kill) on his own he likes to listen to something that’ll pump up his adrenaline but then again when the night falls and he’s left awake staring at the ceiling he also likes calmer music that is almost melancholic in sound

And he thinks his music taste is better than yours, no debate about that (unless you introduce him to something new that he likes, then he’ll be a bit reluctant about complimenting your taste)

He’s probably sneaked into concerts as well as stolen merch, which btw all his shirts with graphics on them are just merch of bands he likes

If his music taste were to be described with genres his taste would fall into metal and goth and their subgenres

He actually got into the goth scene through Jane when they were young. She had introduced him to the type of music she liked and he actually found himself liking the sound and researched different subgenres on his own time. Would he admit that Jane got him into it? Probably not, if anything he’d give her just a little credit

He's more focused on the melody of the song rather than the lyrics. He might not even know the lyrics to his favorite songs because he thinks the melody on its own is banging enough

Some bands I think he’d specifically like are She Wants Revenge, Slipknot, Type O Negative, Korn, Lebanon Hanover, Twin Tribes and Mareux

When he was younger he used to be a big emo, now he slightly cringes at the thought yet finds himself sometimes revisiting the songs and bands he used to listen to on loop when he was in his teens

FASHION

He’s not too particular with his clothes, most often he steals the stuff he wears from his victims

He does like alt and edgier fashion though but he doesn’t care to specifically seek out for clothes that fall into that style too much

Accessories are a different thing. He's like a crow when it comes to cool jewelry and might even target someone just to steal a spike bracelet from them

A big lover of his white hoodie. It’s almost like a part of him and he even feels weird going out without it

^ And it’s often covered in dried blood. He views the stains as some sort of trophy from his successful kills and is against washing it unless someone actually makes him do that (but that would only happen after a ridiculous amount of resistance from him)

His wardrobe mostly consists of dark colors, apart from the couple of white tops he has

Knowing Jeff’s preferences, Nina sometimes alters his clothes and makes them more fitting to his aesthetic, which despite his act of indifference he sort of appreciates

He’s got a few piercings and he’s done all of them himself except for his snakebites

The first time he pierced himself he got his ear infected and Jack had to treat it

After that he's got the hang of it and has been free of any serious infections

His snakebites were the first piercings he ever got when he was young, approximately 15 or so. He got them done by some shady guy in some even shadier circles he hung around in as an act of rebellion against his parents

FOOD & DRINKS

He's not picky with food, like at all

Sure there are things he doesn't like but he eats pretty much anything

When he was on the run after attacking his family he didn't really have much options and ate whatever he could find just to keep alive and going

His favorite type of food is homemade meals and he prefers to cook his own food if he can, partly because of his distrust to others

And he's decent at cooking. He learned when he was young and still living at home but everyone has the impression of him that he can't cook for his life

Loves a good ol’ Monster Energy, the drink is imprinted on him since early age

The type of guy to forget to drink water tbh, he’s kind of dismissive when it comes to taking care of himself in general

BAD HABITS

Killing and stalking, obviously

Depending on his mood he may take his victims out quickly with a simple stab to satisfy his craving for control for the moment, but at times he can get brutal to the point he leaves an impossible mess

He's not a long term stalker if he plans on killing some stranger. He'll follow them throughout one evening and be done by the night

Though sometimes he'll get curious about other people’s habits and way of operating, and he may follow or watch them out of sight to gain more information

He's a regular smoker and he’s not planning on quitting it

Steals a new pack in advance every chance he gets. He does go through one fairly quickly after all

Also a drinker. He's not addicted like he is with nicotine but when he drinks he often takes it too far, drinking too much too quickly

Sometimes it's a choice, sometimes he just loses track of his limits yet he would insist he meant to get shitfaced, thinking that works better for his image

HABITS/FREE TIME

He’s the type to consider killing as his habit but apart from that there are a few other things he finds himself drawn to

Music, as said before, is a big part of his daily life. He likes to just hang in his room and have music in the background, usually blasting it from some busted stereo he found one day

A knife collector and he has favorites based on how many kills he's gotten with them, how he got them and the style of the knife. Will ramble about them if you don't shut him up fast enough

He used to draw fairly regularly when he was still young but over the years he's sort of dropped it. He might still doodle something if he's given a pen and paper and he has nothing better to do, but he doesn't value the habit much at all anymore

March 10th — Meet the family

How do they navigate introducing multiple partners—do they bring everyone along, or stagger introductions? What are their family’s reactions, and how do they handle questions or misunderstandings? Maybe a character is anxious about acceptance, while another reassures everyone. Perhaps there’s a moment where a family member embraces the polycule, or a tense one where boundaries are tested. How do they support each other through it all? This could also be outside people meeting the poly family, or new partners introduced to existent partners as family.

March 11th — Pining

Is your character pining for someone? Maybe for two people who are dating? Are there two characters pining for the same person? Maybe they’re navigating the ache of wanting a partner who seems oblivious, or the complexity of desiring a metamour. What do they do—do they channel it into thoughtful gestures or retreat into daydreams and/or angst? Perhaps they’re wrestling with whether to confess their feelings, worried about disrupting the balance, or exploring the joy and frustration of watching someone they care for thrive in other relationships. How does the polycule respond if the truth comes out—support, awkwardness, or a long-awaited resolution?

March 12th — Explaining the polycule

This can take many forms, from diagrams explaining the relationships within a polycule to art with someone reacting to the polycule, or fic that explores how the characters deal with the ordeal. Are they open and straightforward, or do they prefer to keep things private? Maybe it’s a character nervously introducing a new partner to the rest of the group, or a moment where someone has to break down what a polycule is to a curious but clueless friend or family member. Does the explanation focus on love, or do they lean on humor to make it less intimidating? How do they navigate reactions—whether it’s support, confusion, or pushback? Emira Blight:

Emira naturally specializes in Healing and Illusion magic, hardly showing spells that go beyond those.

One must remember that Emira can be smart, clever, and mischievous but also level-headed. She prefers to outsmart and outwit her opponents during the battle can be pretty sneaky and has good reflexes.

Emira and Willow didn't really interact with each other personally, but most of the time, they were allies when dragged together into battles. This duel is specifically one that could've happened in the main tournament but sadly Emira lost so she's now compensating for that, but the girl doesn't really believe she's going to win nor cares that she will lose. She's currently just riding off the good vibes she had after defeating Bria.

Telekinesis - Emira can move objects with ease using it, granted the objects usually were small and not the size and weight of the person so she can use them directly on her opponent, but she can pick up random stuff from the arena to use them as projectiles and be decently quick with them (the only instance I recall of Emira using telekinesis is her swapping the books constantly in her debut)

Snow Magic - Emira showed capacity in snow magic, creating a snow hand to attack Amity. I can also imagine her creating simple blasts of snow during combat or as a distraction. Or even a snowball stream or snow arm to attack.

Healing Magic - Emira knows a healing spell that allows her to heal wounds. For this tournament, I will enable Emira to be able to heal her own wounds even though she never demonstrated to be capable of using said magic on herself in the show. Emira's healing spells however take a lot of time and concentration for the time being so while she can heal herself, she would need a minute or two for that with no interruptions when it comes to serious injuries. However, she can quickly heal minor ones.

Restraining Magic - Emira is capable of creating a lasso made out of light that can be used to restrain her enemies. She attempted it with Slitherbeast granted at the time she also had Edric's help and Slitherbeast proved to be too strong for her, so it's hard to tell whether or not Emira's restraining spell is overall very effective, as it certainly isn't if her opponent is particularly large and strong.

Glamour - Emira is capable of altering her appearance with her illusion magic. She usually uses concealment stones for passive altering of her appearance which is usually used to enhance Emira's looks (like braiding her hair or removing zits) but Emira showcased in illusion class to be able to alter her appearance by herself, extending her legs ridiculously. Thus this power is upgraded for Emira to be capable of somewhat shape-shifting into extending her limbs however she likes.

Illusion Casting - Emira naturally knows illusion magic and creates whatever illusion she likes. Her illusions can interact and affect the real world and be touched and she can create multiple at a time. Usually, it will extend to an object or imaginary living being. However, her illusions can be fragile and enough force can cast them out.

Illusion Clone - Emira is capable of creating a clone of anyone she desires, granted it's usually one clone at a time as proven in EGF when she created a clone of Eda. The clone could potentially mimic the abilities of the people they took shape from but it's more than often just an illusion. They could also take upon the personality of anyone they were cloned from.

Camouflage - Now I'm not sure whether or not Emira can cast it on her own or if it requires a team effort, but in LR once Bump made a stand against the EC, all the other students would appear after the illusion of camouflage was dispelled, so I'll allow all illusion casters that were part of this to be capable to at least hide out of sight temporarily, so Emira now can use this ability to stay hidden for short time during the battle.

Willow Park:

Willow and Emira don't interact with one another but for the most part, they're usually on the same side when big shit goes down, so Willow doesn't really have any bad blood towards Emira, why should she? Willow thinks this battle will be a nice practice before the final battle.

Willow Park is a prodigy in plant magic. Only a few can match her talent and raw power when it comes to her command over plant life. She's also very knowledgeable when it comes to Botanics and is very promising when it comes to them (she knows how to tame various plants and what are they capable of). However, her capabilities only extend to plant magic and not other types of magic.

Willow Park is also very strong, athletic, and sporty. She's the Captain of Flyer Derby Emeral Entrails and managed to defeat the captain of Grudgby team Boscha while playing Grudgby for the first time. It is known that Willow works out and shows a lot of physical strength. The girl knows how to pack a punch.

During this battle, palismen are not allowed.

Willow's magic is enhanced by her emotional state. If she's confident in herself she's most in control, however, if she's bottling up her feelings or feeling insecure, her magic can turn against her. Her magic also gets stronger once she uses anger and determination to power it.

Water Magic - Willow showed in Something Ventured, Someone Framed that she's capable of summoning water, however, she only uses it to water her plants meaning that during her battle she could only use it to enhance her plants.

Healing Plants - as demonstrated in her debut, Willow can use her magic to directly heal plants. This could be quite useful in case her plants are damaged.

Bush disguise - Willow can briefly camouflage herself using bushes as demonstrated in Hooty's Moving Hassle. Willow during the battle would grow bushes all across the battlefield to hide in them to recover or do sneak attacks without leaving herself wide open.

Plant Pillow - Willow is capable of creating plants to break her fall, so in case she gets hit in midair, she can quickly recover and receive no fall damage whatsoever.

Plant Teleport - Willow can use her plants to transport herself across the battlefield. Can be quite effective for escaping.

Grass Trap - in the same vein of teleporting herself, Willow can also use her magic to transport others. During the combat she would utilise said abilities to make grass devour her opponents. Willow can choose whether or not she can spit out her opponents by either putting them in a different location or keeping them underground. However, the opponent can break away if they know how (using plant magic too as demonstrated by Hunter in HM when Belos also devoured him but he managed to escape).

Plant Tie - Willow can discreetly grow vines over her opponents' feet to keep them still or make them trip the moment they try to move as demonstrated with Boscha in WILW. She can also grow those even around herself if she loses composure.

Tree Block - Willow can create a singular tree to use to block attacks from her opponents. She demonstrated it in WILW against Boscha. Willow can use this ability to even block objects thrown with great force or fireballs.

Vine Whips - Willow is capable of creating two large and strong vine whips that could be used to catch or harm her opponents. Demonstrated this in LR and ASIAS, fusing both her physical strength with the strength of her plant magic. She can also create a singular one as well.

Vine Dome - Willow can grow a dome of vines to use as a shield from protection as demonstrated in ASIAS against Darius. The dome can still be cut with enough force.

Vine Grab - a stronger version of Plant Tie, in which Willow is capable of creating bigger and multiple vines to catch her opponents even from greater distances (like midair for example).

Plant Monster - Willow can create a Flower-like monster to use as a beast to fight for her. She demonstrated it on the First Day.

Vine Octopus - Willow is capable of surrounding herself with multiple crazy and moving vines that can grab her opponents, block attacks, or directly attack. She demonstrated it in her debut episode.

Giant Plant Monster - Willow is capable of creating a gigantic Plant-like monster to attack multiple opponents (but not only). It's a stronger version of Plant Monster. She demonstrated it in Hooty's Moving Hassle.

Vine block - utilising multiple vines at once, Willow can create a shield that can block her opponents as demonstrated in her debut.

Tree Arm - With the help of Green Thumb Gauntlet, Willow is capable of creating a giant tree arm that she can use to attack her opponents.

Tree Golem - With the help of Green Thumb Gauntlet, Willow is capable of creating a tree-like golem that can be used to aid Willow in her battles. The Golem has enough strength to break through barriers even created by Belos and the arms of the Golem can extend to very long distances while not losing any strength.

Vine Attack - Willow can create a singular vine from the ground that can be used to attack her opponents.

Jungle Attack - Willow can grow multiple vines from the ground to use to attack her opponents. As of WAD, it's potent enough to grow an entire forest of such vines.

Plant Surf—As demonstrated in FTF, Willow can use her plant magic for transportation. She can also use it to create a bigger platform to stand on, as seen when battling Kikimora.

Tree Movement - Willow is capable of moving the trees with her magic as demonstrated in FTF.

Ultimate Vine Octopus - as demonstrated in COTH against Kikimora, Willow can create an even enhanced version of Vine Octopus in which she gains the high ground and uses even bigger and stronger vines to attack her opponents.

Multiple Vine Whips - Willow is capable of creating from her hands multiple little vine whips that can be used to hold down her enemies as demonstrated in KT against Belos.

Endless Vine Trap - Willow is capable of releasing a great amount of vines that can grow across large spaces as demonstrated in both her debut and FTF. The trap also has quite offensive capabilities.

Intangibility—As proven in Understanding Willow, when Willow was a child, she knew a spell that could make any physical construct disappear for a short second before reappearing. Nowadays, she can still use it to quickly dispel her opponents' physical defenses for the purposes of this tournament.

Jungle Trap - demonstrated in LR against a coven scout (who gave her props for that), Willow can quickly trap her opponents in multiple vines immobilising them.

Why do you ask this question in the first place right after trying to ask a question to debunk Sonadow? What is your purpose in asking these questions as someone who is obviously against Sonadow and someone who likes Amy and Sonamy? And to even use a burner account to do this and to even try to intimidate by claiming that "many fans" think like you or what you've said while believing that pressuring us with what people think is going to make us bend to your will.

Is obsessed and overly infatuated with Sonic to the point of thinking that Sonic can never do any wrong except refusing what she wants from him many times

Has followed Sonic around wherever he has gone for several games, whether he liked it or not

Is touchy with Sonic despite him not liking her touch and despite showing discomfort

She has become violent or "joked" about being violent towards Sonic if she doesn't get her way with him or he doesn't accept her advances/demands

Does Sonic like Amy romantically? No. Many sources, not just once, already stated that.

Ian Flynn said that in the IDW comics, there is no romance. He said they are one-sided with Amy liking Sonic and that they are just friends.

But even one of her creators, Kazuyuki Hoshino, stated that it was always supposed to be an endless chase. Therefore, they were never meant to be together in the first place and it was always to be one-sided relationship with Amy being the one to like Sonic and Sonic not liking her back.

Other people who state this is how even in Sonic Boom, a writer for the series stated that Sonamy was always meant to be a joke in their series, therefore it never should have been taken seriously.

Sonic Team also uploaded a video of Sonic answering questions, and with that, Sonic said that he only sees Amy as a reliable friend; that there's nothing more between them.

And even with her profile on Sonic Channel, it still states that Amy is a self-proclaimed girlfriend, which means that Sonic doesn't return her "romantic" feelings back and doesn't see her that way to have her actually be a girlfriend, not just a self-proclaimed one.

Other than that, it is already obviously shown in several medias that Sonic is uncomfortable with Amy and that he doesn't want to be in a relationship with her. If this was any other series, no one would question whether Sonic likes Amy or not from just seeing the materials where he (excluding materials from recent corrupt employees that are inaccurate to the faithful materials/lore):

1. Tries to end meet-ups with her as soon as possible if possible (the 2021 Calendar Story)

my personal take on the todd anderson hair color debate from a hairstylist perspective

~ alr y’all time to analyze this shit cuz i’m going back to my second year of beauty school in september and also i’ll be bored away from home so i’m not styling any clients at the moment

lemme just start off with the fact that this boy is very beautiful but not only is his anxiety making him look like a confused ass goldfish at times but also it’s making his hair confused cause like in some shots, he does look like a bit of a brunette-

but then there’s other shots especially when he’s outside or under a lot of bright lighting where i see more yellow/golden undertones seen within blonde hair

so ofc i had to whip out more photos from other movies and like…

he looks more like he has brown hair but there’s a few blonde streaks in there like- give me a goddamn break

overall, i’m judging by the level system (as hairstylists are usually taught in school) and of course overall knowledge of undertones and other colors out there. there’s multiple conclusions i’ve come to:

1. he has lightest brown hair (level 5) ( i can’t put a link to the exact image i’m using but you can search up “level system hair color” if you wanna see what i’m referencing to, however depending on the brand of hair color/company the level system is from, there might be slight alterations due to the way that brand formulates their haircolor and how it interacts with the natural colors so not every image will match the names i’m using )

from certain shots, he has overwhelmingly more red undertones in his hair which is the undertones that are exposed more in brunettes. it looks more like a golden brown or possibly coppery brown color in some instances.

2. he has dark blonde hair (level 6)

if my eyes aren’t tricking me, there’s also shots where the undertones that are exposed are more orange-coppery/yellow-golden-leaning which indicate more blonde hair but it’s definitely a darker blonde no doubt.

3. bro has mixed melanin

yes there are people who have hair that naturally has more than one color. the most common example we see is those who have grey recently coming in or salt and pepper hair, however, this can also happen with other natural hair colors like browns, blondes, and gingers. he very well may have more brown hair but then there’s streaks or even patches of dark blonde hair mixed in there.

4. he has changing hair color ⭐️

there are people i’ve met whose hair color has changed overtime and typically blondes are more susceptible to it. especially when seasons change, sun exposure can affect hair color and make it so your hair lightens in the summer but darkens in the winter (just look up sun bleaching like why tf does a star from that far away have that effect??). however, this still means he has some sort of hair color whether it’s more blonde or brunette leaning—that’s up to you to decide from the hair colors above.

as you can see, i starred it cause i personally believe this the most. ( i also believe this happens to his brother jeffrey as well to a different extent )

5. he could’ve had his hair dyed

i don’t personally believe this but it’s a possibility i put on the table from a hairstyling perspective (plus the actors could’ve gotten hair done before shooting the movie which i mean they did get their hair cut so who knows what else they could’ve gotten touched up on their hair- maybe even chemical services🤷‍♀️). it could possibly be highlights that are starting to fade but even then it doesn’t look like it to me.

^ this conclusion is hard to tell just from photos at times and lighting/editing/cameras used in movies could mess around with it more :/

There is adoration in his eyes, yes, and there is devotion in his gaze, yes, but there is something else–something special–that makes you wonder whether you’ve underestimated the depth of his feelings. He’s telling the truth. The beginning of a solid house starts with a solid foundation, which is then built upon. Kaveh is the foundation to your house, and he would gladly let you grow and flourish from his dedication, if only you’d let him. From your house stems a home that contains all that he cherishes, from the gleam in your eyes to the smile that he’d frame with the slight tilt of your chin. An architect should be able to indulge in all that they find breathtaking, which, for Kaveh, he has the privilege of being able to admire every day. And yet, every single day, he manages to fall for you again and again.

Kaveh promises that one day he will be able to grant all that you wish for, no matter how impossible it may be. You deserve more than the constraints of what constitutes ‘possibility’, and then will he be able to see your smile, and see his reflection in your eyes, and not notice anything else but the happiness enveloping both your bodies. 

But for now, he’ll have to make do with unbreakable whispers and the feelings in his heart that beat in time with the flap of a butterfly’s wings. 

He finally grins at you, never faltering in his gaze. 

“I want you to know how much I truly do adore you.”

Can you explain how Eddie, Jon, and Jerv's autism manifests itself? As an Autistic comics fan, I love the idea of the Dork squad all being autistic!!

Ed

Ed's whole deal can get a little complicated to explain, since he has BPD, ADHD, and OCD along with autism, so a lot of his experiences or behaviors are going to be influenced by all of those

Ed is a very repetition/pattern/organization focused kind of guy. Whether this be repeating routines, having to keep a system that's very specific, or needing things to play out in predetermined ways. If something doesn't happen how he expects it to, he will either repeat it over and over again or have a meltdown, depending on what it is

(He also has a lot of repetitive thoughts about all sorts of things. Some are more unpleasant than others)

They also fixate on things or people HARD. There will be week long stints where they will get fixated on something and be unable to do really anything else until their brain is satisfied. It can be very detrimental to their health (or to the health of the other person)

He also tends to dislike social situations, especially ones that are unfamiliar or crowded. Being unable to predict what will happen in a social situation or location is very nerve-wracking for him, and it's part of the reason why he can be so blunt and rude. Part of that is just how he's built, but it also usually puts people off or at least gives him the ability to analyze who someone is better. He doesn't like meeting new people, and he's found the best way to avoid talking to them is by being annoying (but he's just kind of annoying in general also)

Lastly, Eddie is very touch-averse (for multiple reasons) and moderately sensitive to sensory input. Bright lights and noises don't bother them too much, but the wrong smell or texture makes them want to vibrate out of their skin. They hate being touched, especially if they don't know you very well. Another reason why they wear gloves and a lot of clothing. It isn't as bad if they're very close with you though, so have them willingly touch you, or allow you to touch them for more than a minute or so, is a big sign of trust on their part

Jon

Jon is, as always, repression city, so he masks whenever he can get away with it. He's the type of guy to pretend like he's not bothered by something and then go home and stare at the wall for hours on end. He has a loooot of shutdowns because of this, unhealthy fucker

Jon is very unemotional and (like the other two, but more so) unempathetic. He could be having the best time of his life or the worst and he'd still have a blank "I wish I was dead" expression on his face. The exception is when he's experiencing high emotions, like shock, delight, terror, etc. He also speaks mostly in monotone, with occasional injections of emotion (mostly annoyance or amusement, and even then only barely)

Jon is very sensitive to light and sound. His glasses (or goggles, if he's wearing his mask) are actually tinted like sunglasses to help him deal with some of it. He has tried and failed to tough out being in noisy places, but since he physically can't do it, he's resorted to using earplugs to help deafen some of that sound. It still bugs him, but at least it lets him leave the house

In public, Jon stims in ways that could seem "normal" to other people, in his attempt to mask. Humming/whistling/singing, bouncing his leg, tapping a pencil, etc. He'll also clench his fists when he's not holding something (or tap on that thing if he is). When he's alone he tends to pick at his skin/scars, grind his teeth, pace, whisper to himself, things like that. Honestly a lot of his "not in public" stims unintentionally make him seem kind of scary (which he thinks is funny)

Jon also will have brief periods where he loses speech, particularly when he's overstimulated, but not always. Granted, since he doesn't talk much in the first place, it's not always noticed

Jervis

Jervis is veeerryy talkative when she's able to be! Though she tries to be mindful of it, she isn't the best at social cues (especially conversationally), and can (and will) have entire conversations where the other person isn't needed. Especially if it's about one of her interests, or if she has the chance to explain something to you. You best be ready to settle in for a while if she's decided to talk to you

The only problem is sometimes it's difficult for her to express herself in a way that makes sense, especially to neurotypical people. This is a combination of autism and brain damage. She is really very smart, and the things make sense when they're in her head, but they come out confusing and more like a ramble instead of a weave of interconnected ideas

He also has a bit of trouble recognizing people. He goes by shape, general colors associated with the clothes they wear, and voices, but if those are mixed around or unclear then he can get confused

He's also a very tactile kind of guy. We already know he loves hugging/cuddling/touching people, but a lot of his other stims relate to touch as well. Braiding or running his hands through his own or other people's hair, touching objects that have a texture he likes, scratching things, the feel of certain kinds of clothes, chewing on things, stuff like that

Along with that, she also has a lot of olfactory and visual stims. She has a couple of those stuffed toys that have the scents in them, which both appeal on the smell factor and the touch factor. Some might think it's weird or creepy, but she also likes to smell different people, especially those she's close with! It's just very comforting (even if being sniffed isn't always comfortable for the other person). Visually, she really likes staring at pleasing patterns, or anything moving repetitively, like fans. But she can get real dizzy doing that

Jerv is a biiigggg fan of weight, either being pinned down under someone or under stuff like a weighted blanket. Very very comforting

I think that's just about it!! I hope this satisfies, it was a lot of fun actually writing out how different their autism manifests and throwing in some of my own experiences/behaviors too. My silly beasts

So Ive been thinking a lot about L’s giant-massive-fuck-off-skyline-ruining headquarters.

I am joining the conflict between L and Kira on the side of the construction worker.

Thinking purely about the timeline of construction, L apparently puts in the request for a building around the same time he meets the other task force members for the first time. That meeting happens on December 31st 2003, so I’d imagine he tells Watari to get in touch with whatever construction company they hired the same day. At the time, the other members of the initial larger task force had already walked out… so why exactly L thinks they’ll need to design a building to house 60 agents is unclear. Was he hopeful that eventually more people would join the task force? Was he imagining that he’d have to detain multiple people? 23 floors feels like complete overkill for such a small team. On July 23rd Light and Misa are let out of confinement when Soichiro performs the blank stunt (which. I have major issues with how that scene was handled. Will be doing another post about that at some point…). So the 23 story building was built between December 31 and July 23. 205 days, about 6 months. In every single construction form I could find, it takes about 6 months to build the foundation alone. Additionally, each floor takes about a week to complete, so add an additional 23 weeks to the timeline. However—these forms were only discussing safe and legal building practices. The Empire State Building stands out for having about 4 stories completed per week… but that too took about 410 days to complete. There are several buildings that have gone up in around 15-20 days (notably all post 2015), however, all of these buildings used “prefab elements” meaning that large sections of the buildings were pre-built off site (this process alone taking about 5 months for only 20 floors). So 15 days might not be an accurate assessment were one to start from scratch. Then again, it’s possible that L used some sort of construction like this. However, these sorts of buildings are typically very… regular. Apartments and hotels mostly. When you think about all the specialized elements of L’s skyscraper the “prefab” approach seems less realistic. This raises all sorts of questions! What building codes were broken? Was the site safe for construction workers? Probably not. Was anyone injured on the project? Likely. I feel like when we talk about whether or not L is a “good person” or if he “cares” about the people he’s saving, we exclude this very obvious example of him having little regard for the common person. Additionally, I just have a good time thinking about the conversations Watari would have had when trying to get a building permit—I doubt L’s little project follows Building Standard Law. I just know it. Of course Im sure they had some additional freedoms given the situation with… you know.. Kira. Still I am just deeply obsessed with how much shady shit is going on in this one little part of Death Note. It of course goes unaddressed because no one cares whether or not someone broke an arm or something on the site of L’s 23 story glorified hotel. But I care. I am joining the conflict between L and Kira on the side of the construction worker.

ADDITIONALLY. I like to think about how much empty space is in that building. All those hallways, and closets, and massive office spaces just completely empty. Are there lights installed on those floors? What about heating and cooling? Are there just several floors that are exceptionally cold? Are all of these rooms regular? Are several floors just a duplicate of the one below? And think about being confined to this space, unable to go outside, for weeks.

All those identical rooms.

I find this oddly creepy and off putting… rooms copy and pasted to essentially just take up space and approximate the idea of a usable office. I get a very House of Leaves or Hill House feeling from thinking about that building. Severance as well I think approximates what im picturing.

Most of that building, most of the rooms, must be empty. To this point, I also often think about how Misa must have felt to have a whole floor to herself. It was probably a fairly sparse place. Really, its impossible that a person could feel at all relaxed in so much SPACE. What were L and Light’s quarters like? They both had a floor to themselves as well. If what we see of the building from the manga/anime the decor would be, well, lacking. We know Light cares about architecture, I wonder if he ever had thoughts about this. I can’t help but think about how funny and disorienting it would be to live in such a massive space but be stuck six feet away from another person.

Again I am very aware that this isnt the type of thing people would focus on in DN. Which I get. I’m just weird and I love thinking about uncanny spaces. L would build the back rooms.

Magnus

Okay, any specifics I should look for to find him?

Will

Nah, he can sense the dead from miles away. 

“He can sense the dead-? Of course he can...” Magnus muttered to himself as he shivered. Will had mentioned the weather within the borders would be maybe a light autumn- but outside of the borders, it was freezing. Even with his Frey heritage, his shorts felt a little cold.

 

“I can also sense bad fashion.” Magnus quickly turned around to come face to face with a dark-haired guy. Without introduction, the boy—probably Nico—motioned for Magnus to follow him, which he did. “Your full name is just Magnus Chase, right?” Nico asked. Magnus nodded as he saw literally nothing in front of him, just forest and trees. Nico stopped and held his hand out to touch air or something.

“I, Nico di Angelo, permit Magnus Chase to enter Camp Half-Blood, or whatever.”  Nico turned around, “You should be good to go now—wasn’t sure whether the border would stop you from getting in because you’re not Greek and all that. Anyways, go pretend to be my boyfriend, try not to die and join in the Christmas activities!” Nico walked off. 

“What.”

So Magnus began his day at Camp Half-Blood. As he made his way through the border, he laid eyes on the big house—which seemed normal enough, if it was not because of the line of hurt people right outside. 

Being the good person he was, he carefully made his way to said line and approached the one in the back. Before he even could greet the girl at the end, she turned to him, barely looking at him as she went, “Oh, Will! I thought you were inside already, they might need more hands.” 

Magnus paused before he caught up. Ah yes, people really did mistake him for Will.

“I uh, wasn’t yet. What happened?” He asked as the girl looked at him like he was stupid. 

“Harley’s two legged death race, holiday edition—wait did you skip it?” The girl gasped, “I won’t tell, but only if you heal me first.”  She then whispered. Not wanting Will to get into actual trouble, Magnus quickly healed the girl, who then thanked him and walked of after saying, “Hey, didn’t know you had instant heal! Sick!”

Magnus then made his way into the infirmary where one guy looked him over, went up to him, and whispered in his ear. “I know about the switcharoo, name’s Austin, I’m Will’s brother, I won’t snitch if you help heal the line out. You know how right?” Before Magnus nodded he was set to healing, asking each patient for details on their wounds.

”Myrmekes, you know, giant ants got us.”

“Oh, Sherman Yang decided I should be an ornament.”

“The crafting table didn’t agree with me. Nor did the glitter.”

“Archery practice.”  “Were you the target?”  “No, the instructor.” 

“A reindeer ran me over.”

“Decorating the lava wall.” “What.”  “Yeah, you should check it out!” 

So as the line grew short, Austin let Magnus go explore, kindly giving instructions to find the lava wall. 

Magnus did not know what he expected. However, somehow the words “Lava Wall” never made him think of a climbing wall with lava flowing down from it. Worse yet, multiple people were currently climbing it holding tinsel and lights, both quite flammable objects, and somehow it actually looked Chrismassy and joyful. Somehow.

“Impressive isn’t it, Will?” Some dude spoke from next to Magnus, “It reminds me of that one time dad tried to actually be there for Christmas. Hephaestus wasn’t too clear on why the trees should ‘light up’ but he at least apologized for almost setting mom on fire. Good times! Catch ya later.” 

Magnus watched the guy leave with a look of concern, but as time went by, he realized that was probably one of the lighthearted stories he’d hear. Later that day, while having lunch with Nico, the guy decided to trauma dump as if Magnus were Dr. Phil’s little helper.

“Yeah, the decoration are cool most years but this one feels less chaotic than others—though not as quiet as the winter my sister died—” Nico shrugged. “That one was not fun. There’s also that other winter when things were too quiet and we ended up fighting Bob the titan, before Percy yanked him to hell—he’s alright though don’t worry. Bob, I mean. I saw Percy a week ago and he was acting crazy.”

Magnus remembers something then. “Where’s Klaus?”

Nico looks around. “No clue. He said a friend would come over as well, some Heartstone guy?”

Magnus frowns. “Why is he here?”

“No clue,” Nico repeats. “I think Klaus is trying to drive Percy to a nervous breakdown, don’t know why. Can’t blame him either, Percy makes you wanna do that sometimes.”

“Right,” Magnus eyes Nico, picking up his trash and standing. “I’ll take a walk.”

“Will!” A girl of about fifteen approaches him and smiles. “Oh, did you get a perm? Lovely! Though I would spend less time under the sun if I were you, your hair is getting sickly lighter,” she says casually. “Anyway, today for the campfire Chiron asked me to tell you not to sing any ballads, you know what happened last time.”

Magnus stares at her still hung up on the comment about his hair but trying his best to move on. “I do. Yeah, I know everything that’s ever happened here.”

“Cool,” the girl pats his shoulder and leaves. “No one needs more drama—ah, like that one time mom came to my prom wearing the same dress as I did and said ‘See, when someone the right size wears it, it does accentuate your curves!’ Ugh, totally unnecessary I mean, she knows I wore it because my actual dress was covered in acid from the gorgon pretending to be my grandma! Anyway, toodles!”

Magnus reaches the campfire and sits next to Austin. “Gods, I know I’m no one to judge but does anyone here have a decent childhood?”

Austin laughs like he just said the funniest joke. “Good one, buddy. What’s next, a proper education?” Chiron calls Austin to the front and he rubs his hands eagerly. “Showtime!”

Magnus watches the guy step to the front and bring out a saxophone. He starts playing and Magnus recognizes it as ‘Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree’. At first he sits back and enjoys it thinking he’s finally discovered something about this camp that isn’t inherently concerning. 

The problem starts when Austin gets a bit too excited and his music starts to command everyone to leave their seats and rock around the lava wall, which is functioning as their Christmas tree.

It’s 10pm, Magnus has been healing the entire camp from second and three degree burns, and he’s either hallucinating or he actually saw Blitzen and another guy with a santa hat on entering the forest in the back of a bronze dragon.

“Has anyone seen a reindeer?” A camper walks up to where he’s walking holding a flip phone against their ear. “No?” They talk back into the phone. “Sorry, Percy. No yeah, I sent them over to you this morning—yeah, I,” they spot Magnus and smile. “Oh, hi, Magnus!”

“Y/N,” Magnus waves casually. “Who the hellheim lost a reindeer?”

“You don’t wanna know,” you snort, texting someone on the flip phone. “You should tell Heartstone to make Klaus stop messing with Percy, poor guy is going bald and may be getting an ulcer.”

“He’s not the only one,” Magnus replies. “Hey, Nico told me you guy have a god around here named Mr. D?”

You hesitate. “I’m not sure you should go anywhere near him. He might not be okay with you hanging out here.”

“I’m already dead, what can he do, vaporize me? The lava wall already tried that—I can’t be burned.”

“Show off,” you state with no real annoyance. “Yeah well, he’s probably playing cards in the porch.”

“This camp needs like, a whole therapy guard—like an entire cabin for the mentally ill.”

“Oh, Magnus, sweet summer child,” you pat his shoulder. “The whole camp is for the mentally ill. See ya!”

Y/N walks away humming Rudolph the red-nose reindeer and continue to ask about the animal’s location to anyone you encounter. Magnus walks up to the big house and finds a man who can only be Mr. D sitting there and chugging down eggnog.

“Uh, hi.”

“Bill Lonely, you’re here,” Mr. D glances at the boy without even reaching his face. “What do you want?”

“I heard you sometimes give free therapy sessions—can I help?”

Mr. D snorts. “Are you a doctor?”

“No but I feel a lot of bad things when I look at your campers.”

“Join the club, kid.”

“Also my sword is good with words and if that doesn’t work I can stab them so they go to a better place. Sorta.” Magnus scratches his nose and sniffs. “So can I?”

“The clinic is all yours,” the god points to the front door. “Second door to the left, don’t touch my mini fridge.”

I read the fix-it fic (it's very cute and wholesome!) and looked at the comments expecting to see a few flames or people disagreeing with the premise, but it's an out and out dogpile in there.

it's so ugly to treat someone just writing a vent fic like that, & they must have been actively looking for people daring to criticize Viv given that there's nothing in the tags to suggest it

also like, one of the flamers being like 'how can you say Viv and Raph didn't handle the topic of SA well but still say people are entitled to like the episode or find it cathartic? if people like it and you recognize that, that proves Viv and Raph handled the topic well!'

which is like, no. that's not remotely what they were saying or how it works. they're just giving grace to people who got something out of it, but they still think the depiction and handling of the topic as a whole was bad themselves. being compassionate for someone else's take on media & their feelings doesn't objectively prove that take is correct, they're just making space for other opinions in a way a lot of these 'it was handled well, end of discussion' type people aren't

it's such an all or nothing, combative way of thinking about art, that if you dislike it you must also call everyone who likes it stupid or something otherwise it means you secretly recognize it's good or some nonsense like that. that and it's just populism - if some people like it that means it's objectively good. which is funny because usually we treat something everyone likes as just 'having mass appeal' not 'high art'.

but I guess when people get terminally online they assume the vote of the majority is correct - it reminds me of this one debate about something pewdiepie did (I think it was an edgy joke or something, I'm not interested in relitigating it, it's just an example) where one of his supporters claimed 'we've [already framing a constructed audience] already decided he's innocent because the amount of support/likes he got on a response to [insert controversy here]'. it's literally the logic/rhetoric of 'if the mob decides something is good, it's good' which is horrifying logic and has been used to justify any number of irl awful things. but I digress

you could just as easily argue it the other way - if someone likes the scene but makes space for criticism of it, does that automatically make the criticism right?

also like - there's so much evidence in those comments that people do not understand what SA is. like so many people have this conception that SA is the same as rape - like, unless there was penetration of some kind no assault happened. but like if you actually look at the legal definition of SA, multiple places define it as

1 did person A touch person B? 2 did person B not want to be touch and person A should have reasonably understood that? 3 then it was sexual assault

dragging someone into a room while they yell and plead and say no is sexual assault, even if they got away before they were penetrated. being set upon and kissed and groped by a crowd of people is sexual assault, even if they also were not penetrated (and given Blitzo's dialogue there it's doubtful)

Sir Pent was SA'd, Moxxie was SA'd

anyone who has been held down or groped against their will but was rescued or escaped was sexually assaulted. sexually assault can include rape, but it doesn't always

we desperately need better literacy around this, it's legit disturbing to see how many people will pull the 'well technically the show doesn't mock SA because [insert logic solely reliant on the idea that Sir Pent and Moxxie were not SA'd]'. & it's such a revealing line of debate because they know they can't argue whether or not the show is making light of sensitive topics (it absolutely is) so instead they do the internet thing of making the next argument - they claim no, this wasn't SA and demand people debate them on those terms instead. it's falling into their trap because the issue behind that is the one they don't want to talk about - that Viv does not know how to handle this topic with the slightest bit of sensitivity

(tangent but back when HB aired I didn't judge Stolas as harshly for the full moon deal mostly for the tone the show had set up, if that makes sense? I thought the show wanted us to understand that Stolas and most of the cast were all terrible people and that was the entire 'joke' of the show. that Stolas definitely did a bad thing but the show was more interested in dark humor and the audience just kind of had to meet it where it was at. when they started moving towards there being dramatic consequences in Ozzie's I still though the show understood Stolas was a bad person, only now they were actually paying off a dramatic plot point they'd set up so he would actually have to grow and change. Then season 2 happened and the show is insisting he never did anything wrong, he's perfect, etc. and everything that happened in season 1 looks way worse by comparison. it was already bad, but I thought the writers understood that. they don't. instead they've engaged in the most laughable, embarassingly written domestic violence storyline I think I've ever seen in any media, ever, just to get him off the hook for anything he's done. do I respect the opinions of people who find him standing up to Stella cathartic? yes. does that automatically mean those people are right and it's good writing, actually? no. hard no. a million times no. survivors of dv, especially male ones, are often starved of media representation. I want them to feel seen. it doesn't stop me thinking they deserve far better than being represented by a terribly written character like Stolas, who himself is accidentally the show's best representation of a convincing abuser, but that's a rant for another time)

also also, it's kind of annoying that A03 allows guests to post under any handle instead of assigning a random one, because now if anyone points to AyyLmao that it's unhinged behavior to try to police fics people post on the Organization for Transformative Works (the clue's in the name what fanfiction is for!) he can just claim someone tried to frame him, even if there's plenty of reason to suspect he would totally do that (some of the more hateful bigoted flames strike me as exactly that - going as far as possible with it to be able to turn around and say 'look how hard the Viv haters want to frame me! look how cartoonishly bigoted they make me out to be!'

this is so deeply bizarre to me. I've been in fandoms where the media in question is less than perfect and fix-its exist for entire arcs of shows and everyone else is happy to be like 'I see why you had a problem with this even if I think it was OK or not a big deal', or 'I don't see the problem at all but I'm just going to let you vibe like an adult would do'. and the same with character shilling fics, I'm old enough to know that the best solution for fanfic or transformative works you don't agree with is to just click off. but some HH/HB fans are actively out to create a high control group where any criticism must be policed. if I ever get annoyed enough by HH/HB to make my own vent fic, I'm posting it under anon and with comments moderated. I'm not interested in providing an open forum for people to send me hate for a show that is far from worth defending (and even if it was, who cares? they ought to be able to get on with their day if their fave show is so obviously above criticism)

last point, sorry for the rant - it's kind of laughable to me that the author in the comments provided a long, objective list of what Viv and Raph have been doing that anyone can check and all of which happened publically, because they did it publically, and I don't recall seeing many comments in that thread attempting to respond to any of it; it just got ignored. it's pretty funny they simultaneously want to act like Viv is the victim of unfair hate campaigns when she's actively cultivated a fandom that attracts people like them, who bully people to the point they fear making even the mildest critiques. like you want to act like Viv is some bullied saintlike professional, but can you imagine the showrunner of any much bigger TV show encouraging the worst elements of their fandom to the point that said worst elements think harassing an SA survivor in the comments section of a fanfiction where they process their feelings about how lousy the show is in handling SA, and trying to claim said showrunner is still a professional?

to repurpose a point Viv herself made, a professional would know that any show with more than a cult following will attract criticism. a professional would not encourage people like AyyLmao and Norry, they would shut that shit down and know to leave the writers of a fanfic a couple hundred people at most will see that's dealing with a topic sensitive to them, in peace

It's absolutely insane that any of this happened. In all my years of moving through some pretty aggressive fandoms and seeing (and writing) some pretty contentious fics for them, never have I seen anyone dogpiled like this just for writing a small, intensely personal fix-it fic. It's just beyond disgusting.
