Polyamships is hosting #MultiamoryMarch2025

Multiamory March is a month-long event held each year, starting on March 1st and ending on March 31st, with a prompt for each day.

🎉🎉2025 marks the 5th year since #MultiamoryMarch came to our blog 🎉🎉

Once again we gather to celebrate polyamory in all its forms: OT3s, OT4s, OT8s, V-relationships, QPRs, sedoretus, and any configuration you can think of. In the spirit of this month, we invite you to create works in any medium using the prompts above if you need a little inspiration.

This year we have an additional 10 alt visual prompts for you to choose! Check out the links under the cut.

Remember our prompts are there to inspire you, not restrict you. You can also create freely or even use one of our prompts from past years we’d still love to see fanworks for if they inspire you better. If you use a prompt, please make sure to let us know which prompt you’re creating for somewhere on your post.

At us @polyamships and use the tags #MultiamoryMarch and #MultiamoryMarch2025 in the first five tags so we can hopefully see it. If you don’t see us reblog your post within a few days feel free to send us an ask to let us know, or submit it via the submit link here in case we’ve missed your post or the tags/notifications are being weird.

All ratings are welcome but anything nsfw/triggery should be warned for and behind a read more, as should very long tumblr fic.

Valicer Multiamory Month, Day Twenty-Eight: Magic (Valicer In The Dark AU)

The end of Multiamory March (as made by @polyamships) creeps ever closer, and today's prompt is a simple but fun one: "magic!" I have a number of AUs where magical things happen, so filling this one? Not a problem. :p Now, one might have expected that I'd do something for the All The Fairy Tales AU for this one, or perhaps the Medieval Fantasy AU, or maybe even the Valicer Forgotten Vows AU --

But when it came time to figure out something for this prompt, the first thing that actually came to mind was my beloved Valicer In The Dark AU. Which does indeed have magic in it -- just, uh, magic you don't want to mess with too much. Which led to me thinking about what the trio would have learned about magic, growing up in Duskwall -- and what Alice and Smiler might think about Victor getting into it once he embraces being a Whisper. And so the story below was born! I hope you enjoy. :)

Magic was dangerous.

That was a fact of life one learned early on, living in Duskwall. Magic, and anything related to it, was dangerous. The old tongue of sorcery was the domain of demons now, who used it to torment all who opposed them – from freezing them in storms of ice, to drowning them in massive waves, to burning them with whips of fire. And rituals? Well, you never knew what mysterious, otherworldly force would consent to lend you a bit of its power – or for what purpose. The city was full of stories featuring those who had dabbled in what they didn’t understand, and ended up paying a terrible price. Who had discovered that the power they so eagerly sought was also their inevitable downfall. Magic was dangerous, and thus best avoided.

Alice and Smiler had known that too – they’d grown up hearing all the stories, all the warnings, after all. And for the most part, they’d followed said warnings – Alice had confined her interest in the fantastical to her imagination, where magic could run wild without hurting anyone, while Smiler had channeled their desire to accomplish incredible things into alchemy, which often ran up against the side of magic, but never quite crossed over. Even after Alice suffered the death of her family and ten years in Rutledge Asylum, and Smiler finally ran away from home and was cheerfully swallowed up by the Advocates, neither of them were tempted much by the mystical.

And then they met Victor. Who – after some initial reluctance – wholeheartedly embraced life as a Whisper. Who poured through ancient volumes of spellcraft and sorcery, studying distressingly complex diagrams and practicing words no human tongue should be able to form. Who asked his ghostly mentor what rituals he knew, and how best to perform them. Who eventually came up with his own spells, designed to translate any language or ward them against spectral attacks or even drag them all temporarily into the ghost field. All the sort of terrifying, dangerous activities that any sensible person would want to avoid.

But – well. One could accuse Alice and Smiler of being a lot of things, but “sensible” was not usually one of them. And things Victor did – first, they were genuinely incredible feats of arcane power. Second, he always tried to be as safe as possible, and only use them for the whole crew’s benefit. And third – whenever he spoke a word that brought lightning arcing down from the sky, or drew a symbol that lit up a ghostly map of the city, Alice and Smiler would see the joy on his face –

And think, how could they deny the man they loved such pleasure?

Prompt 1 - Kiss

A silly little doodle of my OT3 in The Gifted.

So, like. This book takes place in the future, right? Around 100 years give or take. One of my favorite things is that at one point, the OT3 is walking around these ruins, and one of them, Othello, finds a working instant camera. He's kinda emotional about it for reasons I cannot disclose lol, but the point is it reminds him of home and he LOVES taking pictures of Everything™️. Especially those two, Lyvrea and Isador, but Isa is always a little annoyed about it because he thinks Othello is trying to make fun of him by taking an unflattering picture and doesn't really get that Othello is actually trying to flirt lmao. Anyway, the camera stays with them long enough that Othello starts a little collection and then gets all cranky (romantic) when he realizes he mostly just took pictures of those two haha what a simp

Ghosts of a Father

Word count: 961

Timeline: Post Season 3

Warnings: Implied abuse, alcoholism, failed rehab

Summary: Jamie’s dad lets him down for the umpteenth time. Roy and Keeley are there to help Jamie through it, each in their own way.

Notes: This fic was written for @polyamships Multiamory March event!! The prompt for Day 2 is Hurt/Comfort!!

The worst part of it is that he should’ve known better. 

Jamie had actually thought his dad was going to change. Going to rehab was a huge step for him, and that sliver of hope had grown into a full-on fucking beacon.

They’d gone out to lunch. Talked. Actually fucking laughed about some things. They’d even done a bit of reminiscing, and not the usual kind that made Jamie’s heart drop to his stomach.

They’d had a good fucking time, and Jamie had even promised to keep in touch. He’d even meant it.

Now, it all seemed like a distant memory — like a dream. Like something that had never really happened.

He’d quit rehab. Relapsed. Didn’t even seem to care about recovery anymore. He’d been spotted at the last City match, drunk off his ass, screaming at the ref, even yelling slurs at the players who upset him.

Needless to say, Jamie’s not okay.

He used to think it was pathetic to cry, or to show any real kind of emotion. He still does, to some extent. But he isn’t sure he could hold it back even if he tried.

Luckily, there are two people in this world who make him feel like it’s okay to be vulnerable. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to express himself freely, to let go of his cocky persona and just let himself feel.

Jamie settles himself into Roy’s lap, his arms wrapping around the other man’s waist. Roy’s hand automatically comes to rest on the small of Jamie’s back. And without a word, Jamie buries his face in the crook of Roy’s neck, letting the tears stream down his cheeks.

Roy doesn’t say anything. Doesn’t have to. He just tightens his grip on Jamie, sliding his other arm around the younger man’s waist while his hand continues to rub gentle circles on his back.

Keeley sits right beside Jamie, leaning up to press a kiss to the top of his head. Her hand comes to rest on his scalp, stroking his hair soothingly as he cries.

“I just…” Jamie sniffles and mumbles into Roy’s shoulder, clinging to him like he’s a lifeline. “I just feel so f-fucking stupid.”

“You’re not stupid,” Keeley murmurs quietly, her fingers tangling in his hair. “He manipulated you, baby. That’s a reflection on him, okay? Not on you.”

“But he’s been doing that my whole life,” Jamie argues, the tears not stopping for even a second. His voice wavers. “Like, how did I not… expect it?”

Roy just tightens his grip on Jamie, hating to hear him so upset and wanting to kill the bastard who made him feel this way. Keeley, on the other hand, keeps stroking his hair, going quiet.

“It’s like…” Jamie lifts his head for a moment to wipe his eyes, then just buries it in Roy’s neck again. “He never showed any willingness to change before, so I… I thought it was real.”

“And that’s okay,” Keeley reassures him gently, shifting a little closer to rest her other hand on Jamie’s arm. “Anyone would. You did nothing wrong, Jamie.”

“I know, but…” Jamie curls up a little more in Roy’s lap, sounding completely broken — which breaks Roy’s heart and causes him to tighten his grip even more, by the way.

“I just thought that… maybe I could… finally… have a real dad.”

“Oh… Jamie…” Keeley immediately wraps her arms around him from behind, basically squishing him in the middle of her and Roy. She knows how much Jamie loves this — how much he not-so-secretly craves affection from the two of them — and how much it helps when he’s feeling so down.

Jamie’s sobs continue, his body shaking as he clings to a silent Roy. This isn’t unusual. Roy is usually pretty quiet when it comes to comforting people. He doesn’t think he’s any good with words; he’s too blunt to try and work through people’s emotions in a sensitive way. He’s tried before, but he’s always afraid of making it worse.

He can’t stand to see the people that he loves upset. So, he takes on the role of the silent protector, the rock, the one who will hold them while they cry, the one who’s just there to listen.

But Keeley’s good with words. Keeley’s good at navigating emotions — both her own and other people’s. That’s why Roy usually leaves it to her.

But sometimes, even she can be rendered speechless.

“I wish he was dead.”

Those words, spoken so freely with almost no hesitation, cause Keeley’s hand to freeze on the back of Jamie’s head for a moment. 

The silence washes over the three of them for a couple moments, only punctuated by Jamie’s sniffles. Keeley, after taking some time to think about what to say, opens her mouth to tell him that’s a valid way to feel… only to hear a deep grumble.

“So do I.”

Both Keeley and Jamie snap their gazes to Roy. The older man just sits there, holding Jamie in his lap, his face completely stoic.

The room seems to still as the silence washes over them once more. And then, quietly accepting Roy’s sentiment, Jamie nods, moving to rest his head back on the other man’s shoulder as he lets out a deep exhale.

Keeley finally finds her voice again, fingers starting to run through his soft hair again. “You don’t need him to be okay, Jamie,” she murmurs, leaning in to press a kiss to his temple. “You’ve got us.”

“Yeah,” Roy agrees, his voice still gruff but undeniably serious.

Jamie just nods again, his body relaxing in their arms. The sting of betrayal hasn’t gone away, but it feels a lot more bearable with his partners by his side.

Notes: For @huntressdarkness for Love You Latte. For @polyamships Multiamory March using the prompt soulmates au. POV Crosshair. This is an omegaverse soulmates (true mates) au with Alpha!Crosshair, Alpha!Hunter, Beta!Echo, Beta!Wrecker, and Omega!Tech. Takes place during season 3.

Summary: Crosshair returns to Clone Force 99 after he and Omega escape from Tantiss, but things aren't the same between himself and his true mate. He's not sure if it will be again.

Snippet: They entered hyperspace a few minutes ago. Crosshair let Omega pilot instead of himself. She seems to know what she's doing by what little he's seen her do. Certainly better than he could. Driving a getaway speeder? No problem. He could do it with his eyes closed. Flying a ship? No. Leave that to Tech and Hunter. Leave Crosshair and his twin to man the guns.

Wrecker.

The ship jerks, and Crosshair has to steady himself — grabbing onto the wall for support — to not fall down or over Batcher. The lurca hound doesn't seem to notice anything amiss and smiles gleefully up at him — her long tongue slobbering everywhere. He huffs and rolls his eyes. 

They need to think of their next steps — obviously, they both have their own ideas, but they need to come together to form a plan. They need to get rid of this ship, obviously, and snatch up a new one. Preferably one that couldn't be so easily tracked. After that…? There's a number of plans that they can do. So many options and factors that could fuck up their next move — fuck up their lives. One wrong move and they could both wind back up on Tantiss, or worse. Crosshair curses and curls his right hand into a fist in an attempt to control it — to make it not shake. 

Damnit. 

Better to discuss their options with Omega. He'll have to be the voice of reason, most likely. She has more faith and hope inside of her — the world hasn't broken her yet.

(Crosshair hopes it never does.)

He presses a button, and the door to the cockpit slides open with a juddering whoosh. He sees the back of the top of Omega's blonde hair. The kid doesn't even look back as he walks in. 

"The Empire will be able to track this vessel," Crosshair informs her of the most obvious fact. "We'll have to ditch it." 

"We will. We're heading to a remote location. I sent a coded transmission for our brothers to meet us there." 

The only sounds in the cockpit are the normal hums of a spaceship and the clicks of buttons being pressed and Batcher's whimpers. Crosshair takes a few steps forward, laying his hand on the back of the pilot seat that Omega is occupying. "Omega," Crosshair sighs. He doesn't want to give her hope if there's none to be found. "It's been months. They might not be alive — " 

"They'll be there," she snaps, turning to face him — eyes stern. She says more softly, "They'll be there." She faces away from him, diverting her attention back to the console. 

Crosshair is scared at the prospect of seeing them again. 

Batcher nuzzles his shin, and without thinking, Crosshair scratches the top of her head. It's only been a few days, and he's found that he's enamored with the lurca. Crosshair has never really been fond of animals — not like Hunter or even his twin, Wrecker. It's something about the lurca. It might be because she seems to like him — why Crosshair has no clue. But Batcher does, and he can't help but return the affection. 

It's like that with Omega too. For some reason, after all he has done, after who he is, Omega cares for him. She has never once expressed that she hates him or holds a grudge. Omega visited him every single day she was on Tantiss.

Every.

Single.

Day.

She didn't have to. No one forced her to come and talk. In fact, he was encouraging her to stop coming, to give up on him.

But she never did.

Omega loves her brothers, including him. 

He's grown to care for her too. Crosshair never for a single second imagined that he'd have a sister (older sister), a child that he cares about so deeply. He will, and has, done everything he can do to protect her. If their brothers aren't waiting for them, Crosshair is fully ready to take responsibility for her — raise her, make sure her needs are met, and keep her safe. 

The Empire will never get their hands on her. They won't. Not while his heart is still beating. 

"You're worried. You shouldn't be." 

"I'm not worried," he lies. Crosshair knows that his statement is razor-thin and that it wouldn't fool Omega. He doesn't want to, he realizes. She's seen him for who he is and… accepts him, unconditionally. "I don't see a single reason not to be worried."

He watches Omega press a few buttons, setting the ship's systems to autopilot. "Why are you worried? That they don't want to see you? What do you think will happen, exactly?"

Crosshair isn't sure how to answer her. He wants to be honest with her, but that doesn't mean he wants to tell her the grim, ugly truth.

"You'll see," Omega says as if he had answered her question and is giving a reply. "They're our brothers. We haven't given up on you. We want you back. It'll be fine." 

He wants to argue, correcting her on her ideal fantasy that once they're together, everything will go back to how it used to be. He wonders if she's telling herself all this to believe it.

"I betrayed them." 

"It wasn't your fault." His sister's voice is gentle but firm in her conviction. "It wasn't your fault, Crosshair."

It is, though, he thinks. It was all his choice. 

Crosshair chose to shoot his twin.

Crosshair chose to leave his squad—to leave his family — to leave his pack.

To leave Hunter. 

His Hunter.

His mate, his true mate. 

But would Hunter want him anymore? Would any of them? After all that has happened? 

Crosshair lightly runs his fingers over the bite mark from Hunter. It's scarred over, still as red as the day Hunter marked him as his own. It throbs during his ruts separated from his brother's. It throbs and aches and only makes the pain of not being with his mate worse.

Crosshair's hand trembles on its own, and he forces his hand to make a fist, willing it to steady. It takes several long seconds, but finally it stills. When he looks up to see Omega's eyes, they are shining not with pity but only concern. His sister opens her mouth to speak; instead, a loud and long yawn happens in its place. 

He asks, "When's the last time you slept?"

Omega shakes her head, and her brown eyes widen in a poor attempt to prove that she's awake. "I'm fine." 

Crosshair rolls his eyes. "I'm convinced." Sighing, he says, "How long until we reach the rendezvous point?"

Omega swivels the pilot seat and presses a few buttons before turning back to him. "A little over three hours."

Three hours. He can deal with that. "Go sleep. I'll take over. Don't fight with me over this," he adds firmly when she opens her mouth to retort. "Go." Lightly kicking her shin to prod her out of her seat, Crosshair says, "Sleep. There's a couple of bunks in the back."

You're my sister. I have to take care of you, goes unsaid. 

Batcher whines and nudges Omega's recently kicked shin. His sister smiles fondly, scratching the lurca's head. "Wake me up when we need to come out of hyperspace." She yawns, stretching her arms into the air. "Come on, Batcher." She walks away, the lurca following at her heels.

Crosshair takes the pilot's seat, slumping into the uncomfortable cushion. The familiar blue lines speeding towards them as the ship travels through hyperspace is welcoming… and not.

MULTIAMORY MARCH DAY 2 - HURT/COMFORT

Did someone say my jam? Yrys is a reincarnated soul of Hythlodeaus but something went wrong in the transfer of his soul to the material plane. He remembers everything that happened, while Laia (Azem) and S'daej (Hades) don't remember anything. He's been alone for so long with his memories. Some days he can hardly stand it.

March Challenges Alert!

Looking for a writing challenge? March is fast approaching and there are plenty of options to chose from! Whump/hurt-comfort seems to be popular in March, and @marchwhumpness, @marchofpain, and @storyweaverofgondor's The Whumps of March have already posted their prompts! (Want to combine them?
