Headcanons for Billy Butcher having feelings for you...

He doesn't want to. After Becca, he never wants to feel that way again; never wants to feel vulnerable and feel like he's at fault for the other person getting hurt.

So, he does what he always does. He drinks and tries to ignore it. Pushes those feelings to the back of his mind, stamping on them whenever they bubble up to the surface.

He's cold to you, nasty sometimes. He goes too far and ends up insulting you or making you upset. He doesn't mean it. He's scared and he's protecting not only himself but you also. He pushes you away.

MM and Frenchie see right through it though and Hughie isn't far behind in figuring it out.

They're actually encouraging him to maybe tell you.

"It might make you less of an asshole if you tell them." MM says with a roll of the eyes, "Maybe."

"Maybe love is what you need, mon amie." Frenchie agrees.

"Why don't you give it another go?" Hughie asks, the ever hopeful one, "Love's a great thing."

"Love got Becca killed." Butcher says and it's end of conversation.

He watches you when he thinks you don't notice. Secret glances from across the room.

He's protective of you but plays it off as though he thinks you'd get in the way when really he's just trying to look out for you.

One night, you've both been drinking and you've had enough. You turn and you snap, "Alright, Butcher, what the fuck is your problem?!"

"You are!" He yells back, "You're my damn problem!"

You begin to argue until it all comes to a head with Butcher screaming his confession at you, "Because if you get hurt, that's on me and I can't! I- I can't lose you..."

You're shocked to the say the least but by the time you've processed what he said, he's gone.

He disappears for a few days. No word or no contact.

All you can think about is what he said. You ask the boys about it and they confirm what Butcher had yelled at you.

"He won't admit it, the stubborn shit," MM nods, "but yeah, he's in love with you."

It drives you insane over the next few days because you don't understand. You don't understand Butcher, you don't understand how he can hate you but actually love you?!

Then one day, he swaggers in through the doors, "Daddy's home, cunts."

You try to pin him down to chat one on one but he's wise and he dodges your plans. He manages to escape every single time. He doesn't want to talk about it, that's obvious but you have to. You need to know.

Any time you manage to bring it up, he shuts down. He doesn't speak which is worse than him being mean. You hate that he shuts down.

"Butcher, for fuck's sake!" You scream, annoyed that for the fourth time that you'd tried to have this conversation he was once again mute, "You're an asshole, you know that?"

"Yeah, princess? Tell me something I don't know."

You get so mad that your empty whisky glass gets thrown to the other side of the room, "You- You're impossible! You confess that you're in love with me after all this time of me thinking you hate my guts then you disappear! You leave me for days and days and I'm confused and trying to figure out my feelings for you and when you come back and I'm ready to give things a shot, you shut down?! Well, grow a pair, Butcher! Suck it up! You're so scared of me getting hurt but you're already hurting me doing this!"

He looks crushed. It's one of those rare moments where he doesn't hide his emotions with a smirk or a crude remark. His emotions are clear on his face, he is devastated that he's ended up hurting you by trying to keep you safe.

He doesn't say anything for a minute and neither do you until he says very quietly, "I'm sorry, alright? Never meant for you to be hurt, thought I was protecting you."

"I don't want your protection, Butcher."

"Yeah?" He stands up and walks towards you, "What do you want then?"

He stops in front of you and you find all of your anger, all of your frustration disappears and you utter one word before his lips crash into yours, "You."

Roydick is my spicy birdflash ship. Their chemistry was more heated with them constantly getting into arguements but falling together again. Going back to the comics I realize that Roy hero-worships Dick and that's why they get into so many fights. Roy literally thinks Dick is too perfect

But mostly Roy wants all of Dick. He wants Dick's 100% attention of them and he hates-HATES-that Dick gives everything to Batman. It drives him so mad because he thinks Batman doesn't deserve any of Dick's attention.

Literally tells Batman- you ain't shit. I feel bad Dick had to deal with you. He doesn't deserve it for all the greatness he is.

Roy wants all of Dick and that's where I ship them including their complicated issues. What makes their relationship so great is their problems. Neither of them will compromise (Dick won't let go of Bruce and Roy won't let go of that issue), but after all the screaming and fighting they still fall back together.

It's Dick that Roy goes to every time he has to deal with Cheshire.

When I think of love, they are the epitome of it. I didn't know it was possible to feel love through paper until I saw them. One look at the chemistry is overwhelming.

Dickkory love is stronger than Dick's moral ethics and Dick's moral ethics?

I've never seen Dick love anyone as much as he did Kory. There are issues that came up ofcourse. I'm pretty sure there was an anti-alien sentiment among the general public (real life?) that affected them and on top of that the Batman office wanting Dick back so they just ripped him away from the titans and rewrote a whole new love story for them while trashing Kory for it but when the public's reaction and Dick's "he's so perfect everyone wants him so let's play around with love interests for him" aside, they were the king and queen of love.

What I love about their relationship is Dick loved Kori for who she was, not how she looked. And Kori loved Dick for who he was and not how he looked. On both sides, sometimes all people see of them are their beauty not their personality or strengths or being.

Barbara

Barbara. The reason I held off on writing this.

My feelings about Barbara are complicated.

She and Dick used to be my OTP. I loved them so much I actually hated Kori for a bit, thinking that Barbara was so much better-when I was solely in the fandom. But oh how the table have turned. Very recently the feather broke the camel's back so my feelings about the two of them have changed.

Long story short, they're better off friends. But my favorite moments come from mostly short haired Barbara comics.

This Barbara was AWESOME. She was so chill and cool and funny. She would be smart but not in a demeaning way to others.

Apollo/Midnighter

I think Midnighter would totally seduce Dick into a frenemies with benefits arrangement. I mean he's halfway there.

But aside from the usual flirting, Midnighter really, really, REALLY respects Dick's fight skills. I'm sure you've seen the panels of that already but since posts have a 30 image limit I'mma skip over that to the other reason: his greater-that-meta-human tenacity. Things and circumstances that take out metahumans, Dick surpasses through sheer will power and dedication.

So I mostly ship Dick/Midnighter but Apollo would probably join in too at some point.

Do you see how in every concert, stage or program they're doing these two are always standing side by side or, at the very least, close enough to touch each other? Constantly having some sort of interaction, like eye contact? Yeah, that's basically it.

We've already stablished they go mad whenever she shows herself off for the crowds and become enraged when she's flown by comments about how gorgeous she is and people adoring her. When 9th member gets asked to do something sexy, maybe take off her jacket to show off her curves more or dance a seductive version of one of their songs, they're both turned on by her display and furious at realizing other people are seeing it. Hearing the mad screams of joy from the crowd, the loud petitions for her to do more, even the pick-up lines from the bravest fans, it all makes them have to physically restrain themselves to not drag her away from the spotlight in front of everybody and cause a scandal.

Instead, they decide to mark their territory by disguising it as "fanservice".

Mind you, they were on stage receiving an award I think, being watched by millions of people, tvs focusing on them. Do you see they fucks they gave? Me neither.

They're bold as fuck. If they want to show the world how much they want each other, they'll do it. No one can stop them. They can excuse anything with "fanservice" and the fans will believe it.

They spent the remaining show glued to her side. Han hugs her from behind all the time, squeezing her waist with a cute smile that comes off as playful for the fans, but in reality, he's squeezing so hard he leaves prints of his fingers there. He touches all over pretending to be "play-fighting", but if someone looks close enough, they'll notice the certain roughness of his movements. How tight he grabs her, how he always go for all the exposed skin she displayed earlier, subtitly leaving small bruises there. How everytime he hugs her, he has an arm locked on her waist and the other wrapped around her neck, almost like he's caging her to prevent her from moving. She chuckles awkardly, worried fans might notice the intimate nature of it, but he doesn't relent.

Minho isn't any better. He pulls her closer by the waist and pretends to whisper something in her ear, while he's actually pulling up the collar of her outfit slightly to suck the skin there. When she tries to shy away, turns out she has Han right behind her, grabbing her by the shoulders and displaying a cute grin so the fans thinks it's all part of their antics. None of them realize how they're slowly inching closer and closer until their bodies are practically shielding her. They even push other members away softly when they try to interact with 9th member too, barely concealing the growing agitation.

They simply don't let her catch a break for the duration of the show. They keep leaving bruises and marks on her skin unnoticed, playing it off as a result of their playful "fanservice". When she asks them at some point in hushes whispers what the hell they're doing, she receives two pair of glares that are carefully hidden from the cameras and promise an entire night of punishment. She lets all of it happen, a small part of her enjoying it, but also feeling uncapable of resisting them. She's utterly under their control and they know, they know how compliant and obedient their sweet doll is. It's the people who have a problem, gawking their eyes at something they're not even worth looking at and foolishly thinking themselves deserving of begging for more of it, pushing her to break the rules.

The members know better than to intervene at this point. Luckily they can draw some of the attention to themselves and downplay anything as harmless fanservice. Minho doesn't relent his hold on her waist, brushing her cheeks with his nose and whispering dark promises in her reddening ears. Han has his arms wrapped around her shoulders from behind instead, tracing lines across her nape with his teasing lips, maybe biting from time to time.

All in front of everybody. Pretty much like in the picture. That level of closeness.

And obviously, the moment the guys are backstage to change clothes, she's being dragged to a secluded room to have that sinful outfit with which she pulled that whorish behaviour ripped off and makes sure she's unable to even move by the end of it, darkening the small bruises they left earlier and finally unleashing all the pent up energy they have been repressing since stage. They don't stop until she's mute and shaking in their arms, covered in their essence.

Hey can I request where y/n is a student and Megumi and Gojo both have a crush on her and are always fighting for her. Can you add scenarios like for example Megumi brings her flowers while Gojo notice that and also brings flowers but their more expensive. Another scenario would be that Gojo brought her expensive chocolate (because y/n is a sweet tooth like Gojo in this story) and Megumi found out about that and decided to make homemade desserts for her and it was like a variety of desserts. they get very competitive and didn’t realize that she actually has a crush on both of them but didn’t know how to express them since their always fighting. And I had this idea where Nobara and Yuuji are tired of seeing their classmate and teacher fight so they decided to just tell them by screaming who y/n likes and there was a confusion, y/n told Yuuji that she has a crush on Gojo while with Nobara she told her that she likes Megumi. They were all inside the classroom and y/n was the only one who wasn’t there and when she entered the classroom, she heard her classmates say that she has a crush on Megumi and Gojo. Embarrassed, she left the classroom to find a place to calm herself down. After a while Both Gojo and Megumi found her and had a talk since they’re confused on who she liked. After a while of her being silent she confessed to them saying that she likes both of them and can’t decide on one. Both of them were shock but after some thinking and talking they decided to share her and she becomes both their girlfriend.

And when Fushiguro came to you with a basket filled with cookies, homemade chocolates, candies, lollipops and other goodies, You thought you'd drown with the amount of saliva that filled your mouth.

It was all delicious. The expensive chocolates were pretty, even beautiful, and delicious.

But the homemade sweets your classmate made for you were the same. Well, maybe the heart or the ball were crooked in some places, but it was homemade. You can't complain because it was so delicious.

You wanted to repay them by making dinner for them. But when you wanted to suggest it to them in class, they were all there. And the first thing you heard was the question how did you like the sweets. Which you love so much.

Both were surprised when they said it at the same time.

But hey, competition is competition.

Then you ran away blushing.

It was the same now.

As you were walking down the hall, you saw someone walking, and you quickly hid so that no one would notice you.

Gojo saw Megumi returning to school with flowers that were your favorite. That's why he did the same. By ordering an even bigger bouquet that you would like more than maybe a few flowers.

Both were beautiful. Megumi was cute and kind. This Gojo's was beautiful and stunning.

It wasn't until they left that you decided to leave.

You followed them to make sure neither of them would try to do anything.

But you came too late.

As you stood outside the door, you felt the heat on your face.

When you looked at your potential boyfriends, they looked shocked and a little freaked out. After all, they didn't know what the truth was.

To find out the truth, they'd have to ask you.

You were focused on thinking about your embarrassment for not seeing Itadori walk to the door and open it..

You took a few steps back. You looked at the faces of Gojo and Fushiguro.

You blushed even more and suddenly started running down the hall.

You felt tears might start streaming down your face if you didn't calm down.

as much as El and Max are besties in the sense of the nonexclusive title, I can't honestly say I think they're mutual best friends in the sense of literal #1 ranking of emotional closeness.

El is so new to normal human relationships and regular life across the board. she would listen and care if Max confided in her, undoubtedly, but someone to whom you'd have to pause and explain and define aspects of what you just said honestly isn't going to be your #1 choice when you're upset and just want to vent and be understood. there's definitely no lack of emotional intelligence or anything like that from El, she's just not the easiest one to communicate with.

El actually COULD understand Max a lot better than Max might expect - and vice versa - but since neither of them really tells the other anything about themselves (at least not onscreen), they don't know just how much they can relate to each other yet.

what little sharing Max has done with El has been mostly in brief unintentional(?) inferences that El didn't engage with ("happy screams" being a troubling insight into her home life, etc). and I see extremely little evidence that El has ever told Max or anyone else much about the lab.

their friendship in s3 is more about being kids and having fun together (which is not something shallow! they both need that so badly) and they have more of a mentor-mentee relationship in some ways. just when their friendship could be getting deep, they get separated which is horribly unfortunate.

I don't mean to paint Max as the giver and El as the taker - they're different things to each other. Max drops everything and immediately offers advice, friendship, and warmth to a girl who's previously been rude to her for no reason, expecting no apology and asking nothing in return. but El spends season 3 body-shielding Max from monsters, is there to hold Max when Billy dies, and moves mountains unasked to find/protect/save Max in 4. she is very much there for Max emotionally, just verbal/written communication isn't her strong suit, and that's especially hard in a long distance friendship where that's the only way you can communicate.

Lucas, on the other hand. he has the distinction of being the first person to make her feel accepted in an unfamiliar town, her first true friend in Hawkins or possibly ever, and I don't think that's overwritten by one shopping spree.

Max really opened up quite soon to Lucas considering her trust issues in season 2 and he made it a very positive experience for her. not much of substance happened between them in 3 but in 4, their relationship seems to have its greatest emotional depth ever despite being broken up, and she voiced her literal deepest darkest secrets and suicidal ideations in front of him. (El heard it too, but Max didn't actually consent to that, although I imagine she would have). Henry used Lucas for a vision, knowing her fears would hurt the worst coming from Lucas's mouth. Lucas is the first person Max mentioned she had already looked for when she went to Dustin's house to talk about what she saw, and that was before their reconciliation.

but now here's something to offend lumax tumblr as well: I don't think Max has been Lucas's best friend at any point so far.

am I forgetting a time he's told her anything about himself? a time she's complimented him? I can't think of a topic he's discussed seriously with her that didn't pertain to Max herself, their relationship, or upside down stuff. his best friend is still within the party - Mike or Will I bet.

I could absolutely see Lucas finding Max daunting to open up to, even before her depression in 4. the way she treats him in 3 doesn't give me the sense there's a whole lot of sharing or validation going on for Lucas. I'm not saying she's a bad girlfriend to him, but I am saying she must make him feel a lot less emotionally cared for than he does her, unless he's extremely aware that they have very different ways of showing love. Max really is nice and definitely would listen and care if he shared seriously (and she has shown him that, just not often or recently), but she definitely has an exterior you have to get past first and I wonder how much he tries to do that.

I assume their friendship/relationship had to have had more depth than what we actually saw onscreen but I feel like Lucas lets his feelings be easily swept under the rug when it comes to Max vs the boys. the "the lady is never wrong" policy he learns from his father may keep the peace, but it isn't healthy for the long term. and this may be a subset of that, but I think Lucas prioritizes Max's hardships above his own (that's gonna be huge for him in 5 and beyond - he got traumatized by what happened to Max too, but he won't be inclined to seek validation of that especially not from her).

while they both absolutely care and empathize, Max and Lucas's backgrounds and struggles aren't ones that each other can personally relate to much. Max doesn't know what it's like to get bullied for being black and Lucas doesn't know what it's like to grow up in a poor, broken, abusive home.

but while their childhoods looked drastically different too, El and Max actually could relate to a lot about each others' pasts. El wouldn't know much about being a child of divorce, but can relate to having an abusive big brother, to wanting to escape, to major trust issues and craving love, to refusing to grow up to be what her abusers want her to be. Max doesn't know what it's like to grow up in a lab, but she can relate to being a little girl unsafe in her own home, to having a hard-learned no snitching policy, to living with a bad man she's supposed to call dad whose abuse causes her sibling to abuse her in turn, to refusing to repeat that cycle.

El and Max have potential to have an incredibly deeply understanding mutual best friendship, and I think they will once they get a chance to spend some time together, process what just happened in 4, and open up to each other about more.

simply aging and maturing will contribute to this as well but I think what Max has learned in 4 will make her more emotionally available with Lucas (disregarding that in reality she'd probably close off more than ever after 4 but it's the last season and we don't have time for that) in fact she was already starting to open up to him more just before she died. I hope they don't rush the relationship aspect of lumax because their friendship is sososo important and deserves its own attention tbh. I want to see some mutual emotional sharing between them where Lucas's trauma isn't sidelined.

also El and Lucas, the combination with I'd say the least in common, absolutely must do some massive bonding over Max. I want the two who were slowest to warm up to each other as kids to be absolutely ride or die. the brot3 potential is there I just need everyone to communicate!

Once again I participate in the "get to know your mutuals" chain mail meme (I'm 100% this is not the correct term but my brain is really fried atm), this time I was tagged by @stripedroseandsketchpads :D I feel like I do this every two months at least so I'm kind of out of people to tag who haven't done it recently, and I've also been kind of dissociated from Tumblr due to work stress so I don't remember if I added anyone new recently :/ So whoever wants to do it, let's pretend I tagged you :D

Last song I listened to: Them Crooked Vultures - No One Loves Me & Neither Do I - I just discovered this band! Even though it's made up of really famous people from other more famous bands! And I really like it!

Currently watching: The Borgias. So far it's... okay? I'm enjoying the character beats but the actual plotty plot (i.e. the politics and wars) is so slowly paced and overly linear. They seem really scared of the audience not getting it so they only allow one plotty thing to be happening at any given time, and they make sure to spell everything out at least once per episode. Which is... not what I'm used to in my historical political drama (quite the opposite in fact!). Perhaps I could have benefited from this approach if it were a fantasy world or a country I don't have much to do with (I remember having to open up a map of Scotland so many times while reading the first Lymond because they kept going from one city to the other and I didn't know where they were in relation to each other), but it's set in my own country and half of the "as you know" recaps are just basic Italian geography for the anglophone audiences lol. After the fifth time one well-educated character explains to another well-educated character that Florence is in the north-west and Naples is south of Rome, I kind of want to scream. The pronounciations are also all over the place - three guys are sitting at a table looking each other in the eyes and pronouncing "Medici" 3 incorrect ways, at least they could have streamlined it between the actors. Like far be it from me to demand proper pronounciation with the way Italians butcher English words constantly, but at least make it consistent! Luke Pasqualino is the only one pronouncing anything as it should be pronounced, and I really felt bad for him in that scene where Lucrezia keeps asking him to say her name and they're both repeating it over and over, because he's the only one pronouncing it correctly while she's saying it as if she had a mouth full of rocks. Btw my favourite Holliday Grainger fucking up the Italian scene so far is when she needs to ride breathlessly up to the French king and say a long line about her brother Juan the Gonfaloniere and basically she's supposed to repeat "Gonfaloniere" several times and you can literally see her going "my brother is the gonfalonsajkdnajsdsbaj" and making a "fuck it, whatever" expression when she gets to the complicated part. Anyway I am enjoying the show, the pronounciations make me laugh they don't make me mad. And the costumes are gorgeous!

Sweet/spicy/savory: Savory or spicy, depending on the mood. I dislike sweet things.

Current Obsession: Nothing really, I've been really tangled up with RL things and am feeling vaguely anhedonic because I keep thinking about work, so it's hard to get into something haha. This is actually why I'm able to focus on the Borgias, because they have quite low bandwidth requirements (i tried to watch it before and found it slow-ish). This too shall pass I suppose :)

2. Who is ticklish in unusual places and where would that be? I'm not saying that neck is an unusual spot, but I think Wanderer's made_in_Inazuma mark is ridiculously sensitive-- if Wanderer is acting bratty in public, Zuzu just uses his vision to make a gentle breeze brush against the spot and Wanderer stops whatever he's doing as if he slammed into a wall and turns to pout at the other sdfghfh But also when they're alone Kazuha LOVES peppering it with tiny kisses and Wanderer is in stitchessss hehe

3. Who gets cheer-up tickles? Wanderer 100% and it's so effective and he's sO GRUMPY ABOUT IT like my god he wants to be mad about it bc it doesn't fit his ✨️mean aesthetics✨️ but he can't help but just giggle and feel like his head is getting all fuzzy n happy when Zuzu scoops him up and gently tickles him all over until he's feeling better again

4. Who takes advantage of the other one getting their arms stuck while taking off their shirt? B o t h, but Wanderer definitely learned from Kazuha ahah. And they both wear so many layers that it's a weekly occurrence and at this point they're so used to both of them taking advantage of it that they just automatically start to panic a little when they realize they're stuck, so if the other hadn't noticed it on their own they sure would now sdfghj

5. How did they discover each other’s ticklishness? Wanderer was probably breaking records being annoying and buzzing around Kazu's head, provoking him in one way or another and he just got fed up and grabbed his ankle to pull him down, but to both of their surprise Wanderer fell out of the air on his very own accord (accompanied with an adorably uncharacteristic squeak, I might add) bc the feeling startled him so much lmao and Zuzu did NOT leave him be until he admitted he was ticklish (I think y'all can imagine how Kazuha coaxed that out of him~)

And afterwards Wanderer tried to tease it out of Kazuha too but he just straight up admitted with a chuckle that "ofc I'm ticklish" and Wanderer could Not wrap his head around how he wasn't even slightly embarrassed about it lmao

6. Who can’t take tickle bites? Kazuha oh my gosh, he melts in seconds. I also think that Wanderer's teeth are a bit sharper than normal so his nibbles are DEADLY. And he knows that.

7. Who has to be tickle-forced out of bed in the morning? Hmm, neither has trouble in the morning, but I think Wanderer has to be tickled INTO bed sometimes. Sure, he technically doesn't need sleep but Zuzu wants to cuddle at night and if Wanderer's being difficult about it (which he usually isn't bc Kazuha's cuddles are god tier) he just gets dragged to bed, locked into a hug and tickled until he gets tired enough to actually fall asleep himself too hehe

8. Who gives up in a tickle fight? Wanderer, the feeling still catches him off guard quite a bit, especially when it goes on for a while since tickling has been introduced to him quite recently, so if you manage to pin him down he's done~

But once he gets a bit more used to it he'll be a dangerous opponent for sure///

9. Who is in danger of getting hurt when attacking the other? Kazu, Wanderer f l a i l s. Not a single limb is left unused in his attempts of breaking free if you tickle him hard enough He'll still pout if you stop too soon tho

10. Who always provokes the other into tickling them and how? Wanderer~ His brattiness goes up a notch and he seems to find something to playfully bicker about over everything, and it all is accompanied with a faint blush (that he will deny to the end of time) and an occasional glance at Zuzu's hands. So subtle~

But Kazuha also somehow manages to provoke him into GETTING tickled from time to time. Don't ask him how, Wanderer has no goddamn idea but it just. Keeps. Happening.

IWTV s2 ep 3 - Armand is a fucking little gremlin

Interesting ep! I mean man they all are. This show is amazing. I love the actors, I (mostly) love the updates to the story, just, such care and attention to every facet from everyone involved. Beautiful.

I always get a bit eye-rolly when you have (or see a stupid instragram video of) a white character eating expensive fresh sushi where the fish is presented whole and still having nerve twitches after death, and they freak out about it and can't eat it. I get that it's a bit weird and if it was me sure I would have to wait until it stopped wiggling to start eating, but like, where did you think the fish came from, did we pick it off a bush? Anyways, here I can almost, almost forgive the very tired trope, because you could say perhaps it is a contrast between Daniel, and the vampires and their predatory feeding habits, maybe.

I knew we were getting some flashbacks of Armand's old coven and Nicholas and Lestat, but I was surprised by how short it all actually was. I do hope that when we get to season three we're going to have some proper time spent on all of this. Armand's dirty old satanist coven was so interesting to me.

I actually had to pause the show to get mad for a little bit when I saw Louis say that Lestat abandoned Nicki and abandoned the Paris coven, because everything Lestat does is just for himself. Abandoned! Oh my god Louis, what did Armand tell you? Abandoned! Lies! Armand, you gremlin! Right, sure, the guy who was screaming with his face all red when Armand took Nicholas away is going to just teehee oops leave him behind there for absolutely no reason, no reason whatsoever, yes for sure, nothing more to say there. I also don't trust that the theater scene played out exactly as Armand said, with Lestat quite callously fucking him while Nicholas watched, no, I don't buy that. Everything Armand says is suspect to me.

It's so sad that Claudia reinforces this idea later as well, complaining that Lestat never told them there was this cool fun amazing coven troupe in Paris, he only ever warned them away and told them other vampires were vicious.

(Bruce is sure shit, isn't he. I kinda wanna see him show up again at some point. Maybe he can be one of the vampires at Lestat's big concert? I feel like he must be friends with my V:tM character's shit sire, haha, since they seem to both be reading from the same scuzzy man playbook. On another V:tM tangent (sorry) I know Lestat is the quintessential toreador, but Armand with his creepy tricks, his ability to not be recorded, his religious cosplay, and (in the book) his coven's old tradition of burying new fledglings and making them dig themselves up through their own graves as a test, he gives me lasombra vibes)

This show is so confusing to me and I love it. Every character is so bad and good, good and bad, sad and mean, mean and sad. Everyone is behaving horribly, but I also feel bad for everyone. Lestat is a dickhead but it's so tragic to me how everyone always assumes the worst of him all the time when he really was honestly just trying to protect the people he loved. Armand is a nasty manipulative gremlin, but I feel terrible for him as well, how his face falls every time the situation turns sexual. God, him and Louis were so awkward in the park, like two teenagers who don't really know what to do, or, like two very sad adult men both half-heartedly playing out a role that neither one really fully wants to play. Man, now I desperately wanna see him and Eric get it on not for the old man yaoi, but just to fucking see Armand actually genuinely want something for once.

Jacob is doing such a great fucking job. Poor old Louis.

For some reason I can't stop thinking about Sam (? that was Sam right?) showing Claudia how the rat box works, as if it's her first day at Vampire McDonalds and he's showing her the deep fryer. Santiago is also an amazing character, they're all amazing characters, I love this show so much. Poor Claudia. She is so happy to be included in this group, so happy that she completely and totally ignores the red flags that are waving in her face. Claudia gets her rage and her cruelty from Lestat, but I guess she gets her desperate desire to see good in people even when they mean her harm from Louis.

But, the end sequence is just a bit strange to me. The tension of oh, is Armand going to hurt Louis??? is very strange and doesn't work for me. We know he's not going to, Louis is here in the present day. For me it takes the tension out of the scene. I mean, beautiful acting on Jacob's part, the fact that what he thinks will be his last words are all just his wishes and concerns for Claudia to be happy was just. Ugh! Ugh! But, it just didn't work for me. And anyways, who is narrating this whole bit? This scene shows the coven threatening Armand to do something about Louis, and I don't buy for a single second that that's the actual dynamic here, that Armand is just this poor helpless guy who is forced to do what his coven wants him to, no, not a chance. So I want to know who is narrating this. But... in this scene, Armand and Louis are not in the room. They've both left to speak to the buyer's lawyer, Daniel is by himself checking out the talamasca files on his laptop, yet the narrative continues somehow. That's the first time I've noticed that happen, and I found it very strange. I don't know if this was done on purpose and you're supposed to notice how strange that is, or if it was a mistake. Was it supposed to be info from the talamasca files? I didn't get that impression.

But anyways, generally amazing, as always. I do hope the show includes Gabrielle in the future, and I hope we see more detailed flashbacks of all of them in Paris, and what exactly happened to poor Nicholas. Every actor here is doing amazing.

⭐️ for Gasoline and Spin! (two of my favs)

Gasoline is something that I started writing for a different fandom, about a billion years ago, and for some reason it suddenly gave me Klaroline vibes. I love a good musicians AU, so there's also that, and the idea of exploring a very messy side of Caroline and that relationship was something that enjoyed a lot. They're both extremely screwed up in the head in that setting, but Klaus fakes it better, while Caroline soldiers on by being extremely focused and disciplined, but she didn't get the clean cut she wishes she did, and it shows how much that affects her. I was originally going to write it as a long multi-chap, had the whole thing planned out. It was a bit of an ensemble story, where other characters would get their own development and so on, but I totally lost my mojo and then posted it as a one shot only, because I really liked that first chapter and I felt it worked anyway. But then @definedareasofuncertainty (she's behind everything, always lol) asked me to write a sequel and I decided to give it to her a birthday gift (I'm such a lame friend tbh 🥲), and so I had to include smut, because she's always calling me names for my fade to blacks 🥲

I like the open ending tbh, the idea that they can face the fact neither of them is completely happy and they have all this resentment for each other, but that there is no easy fix because they simply want different things from life. I was very particular about how I thought Klaus would be the ~~~softer part in this finale, because that's what he's like when he's with Caroline. He understands her needs, allows her to rage and scream, and always leaves the ball in her court. She's the one who makes the important moves. And so in that moment, he's just giving her what she needs, which is a closure of sorts and a promise that, maybe, further down the road, they'll finally be on the same page. It's all about timing and how bittersweet and heartbreaking it can be.

As for Spin - honestly, I love Spin. 😂 If I had to rec one of my fics to people, Spin would probably be top 3. I draw a lot of inspiration from my obsession of the day, and this was when I was watching The Politician like a mad person. The whole high school lovers to rivals had me by the throat (even though on the show it's actually very sad and depressing, in spire of the general insanity).

Again, it's an opportunity to have Klaus be a major little shit while also being a sucker for Caroline. I just think this story has so many aspects of them that I love. The bickering, the rivalry, the bitterness. The occasional betrayal. Klaus looking at Caroline like the sun shines out of her eyes, believing in her when everyone else just sort of roll their eyes. The Steroline relationship that is phony and convenient but lacking in everything. Klaus being propelled into impulsive, erratic behavior because of his family. The two of them finding a measure of comfort and understanding in each other, which is the last thing they could've expected.

I don't know, man, I just love them in this. 😂 Maybe it's just me, but I feel like it's a very well-rounded fic that adapts their dynamic well into a high school AU. I wish I could write more fics like that tbh.

So I thought what if I tried assigning dæmons to some Wednesday characters

(Dæmons are from His Dark Materials and are basically manifestations of a person's soul in animal form that are basically lifelong companions. They're usually the opposite gender of their humans (idk why but same sex dæmon/human pairs do exist, they're just rare), and you can't go too far from them (unless you're a witch) without either dying or severing from your dæmon (this CAN happen under very specific circumstances, like with the right technology for example), but it's DEFINITELY TRAUMATIC. And I need to highlight that THAT IT IS NOT OKAY TO TOUCH ANOTHER PERSON'S DÆMON WITHOUT CONSENT. Touching another person's dæmon is literally taboo. It's revolting, evil, and it's assault of the highest degree basically. The most common times this happens is during moments of heightened emotions, either in like battle, or behind bedroom doors (like the exception to this rule is between you and your lover. THAT'S beautiful, cause that's like, the deepest intimacy you could ever achieve, touching your lover's SOUL)

The bond between you and your dæmon is absolutely sacred, and you can talk with them, they support you and guide you how they can, you keep each other company, you grow together, and as a child you play together too.

And as a kid, until a certain age (it's different for everyone but it's typically between 10 to 18, but much more common in between that), your dæmon can change animals (symbolism of how your personality is still developing and stuff from what I understand), and when you reach a certain age and "officially grow up", in a sense, your dæmon settles into one animal forever (that is, yes, a reflection of who you are))

This is gonna be fun :DDD

Wednesday's dæmon is a magpie, named Alistair

I can easily imagine that Alistair would be the only one who can actually reason with her LOL

Also I'm imagining this really tense scene where Tyler and Alistair are staring at each other, and Alistair steps closer to his hand that's resting on the table, as if he's trying to touch him, and Wednesday notices, freaks out, and immediately scolds him about it. Like this moment would practically prove to him that Wednesday has feelings for him..!!!!

She also probably settled pretty early, like, at ten years old. Idk it makes sense to me that she'd already know who she is and settle earlier than most kids.

Tyler's dæmon is a golden retriever named Nyla

I know I'm a horrible person for this but if they had dæmons, Laurel Gates would almost for sure touch his... like, maybe especially when he's shackled in the cave, where he can't reach them. I'm revolted thinking about it...

Oh my gosh what if that's how Gates unlocks him? By touching Nyla... and THEN pulling them apart while he's shackled? Because Hydes can be unlocked through traumatic events, right? OH MY GOSHJWJDJWJDHWD. Like, maybe the Hyde still isn't coming out, so Gates, in a moment of madness and frustration, starts dragging Nyla away from him, and he's literally screaming from the sheer pain of it, pulling against the shackles to try to get to her, then he FINALLY transforms into the Hyde, saving both their lives but also severing them. Which would mean they can separate now, but at WHAT COST?

But this would explain why Wednesday wouldn't be able to identify he's the monster, because if there was a golden retriever running alongside the Hyde, Wednesday would've easily been able to identify that the Hyde was Tyler LOL. Maybe that's how it'd work in this universe generally tho, Hydes' dæmons get severed from them the moment the Hyde is unlocked.

But imagine Tyler and Nyla having to pretend nothing's wrong and taking extra care neither of them stray too far from each other, or else someone might suspect something. AAAAAAAA-

But uh other than that depressing stuff, I think Tyler and Nyla would find a lot of comfort and solace in each other. Like, they're literally all they have. Like, nights just cuddling with each other for comfort. Even when they're trapped in the cave and Laurel leaves them there, Nyla breaks out of the cage Laurel put her in and goes up to Tyler to try to give him some warmth.

Yes don't worry, even when you're severed, if you survive, you still have a connection with your dæmon, it's just never the same.

Enid's dæmon is an Arctic Hare named Amiel

I'm thinking since Enid wolfed out late, Amiel settled late, too. Maybe werewolves only settle when they wolf out 🤔 and maybe their dæmons merge with them when they wolf out, just because I think it'd be wildly inconvenient to have ur dæmons running after you in werewolf form LOL

AWWW I can imagine that, after wolfing out, Amiel immediately runs to her and presses his forehead against hers. And when Enid and Amiel are going back to the school, she's like, carrying him. And when Ajax runs to her and comforts her, he leaps from her arms and towards HIS dæmon and presses THEIR foreheads together AWWWW WHRUWHHRE

Ajax's dæmon is a curly tailed lizard named Ariadne

I just feel like they'd both be very chill LOL. I can imagine her chilling on Ajax's head while waiting for him to de-stone.

Also imagine Ariadne and Amiel cuddling when Ajax and Enid are having a moment together. Like THAT'S CUTE. Imagine... imagine... them being alone together in Enid's and Wednesday's room and them touching each others' dæmons for the first time aaaa wjdjwjdjje

Bianca's dæmon is a capuchin monkey named Aimone

They look like they're judging someone very intensely LMAOO

Idk I feel like Aimone will be this cool, intimidating dæmon sitting on Bianca's shoulder and looking down on everyone else.

And last but not least, Xavier's dæmon is a cobra, named Ophelia

In the description I found of cobra dæmons, the description that stood out to me the most was "just a touch dramatic", which Xavier definitely is HAHAHAHA. But I love the image of Ophelia chilling in his sleeve, watching him draw.

Also Xavier's parents' dæmons would totally name his dæmon after Ophelia Hall LOL

Final thoughts

Idk if Enid would be the only one out of the six of them that hadn't settled yet, but I honestly don't know who wouldn't be, cause they all seem to already have a decent idea of who they are. I'd assume Eugene isn't settled yet either, tho, and maybe not Pugsley yet either.

Dæmons also constantly mirror what their humans are doing and reveals more about the interaction of the humans. Like, if there are people having a romantic interaction, the dæmons might start nuzzling each other. All their dæmons would be staring each other DOWN. And when Wednesday and Tyler first kiss, their dæmons were probably gently going to each other and started nuzzling each other lovingly. AAAAAAUGHHH

Also Laurel Gates would definitely be the kind of person to make her dæmon attack other people's dæmons (this usually causes pain to the dæmon's human, but not the same as if she actually hurt Nyla herself). Like she probably did that to Tyler when she was first dragging him to that cave to unlock him. She probably also punishes him by hurting Nyla (or... NO, making Tyler hurt her... NOOOO). She probably also does this to Wednesday in Crackstone's crypt or something. But Wednesday would definitely do this back to her (and maybe to other people too?? Like, people who mess with the people she cares about?? idk tho)

(what if... and I'm completely making this up now this is NOT canon to the dæmon lore of his dark materials AT ALL... but what if just before Tyler is severed from Nyla, because of the Hyde changing his personality, he unsettles?? Or does the Hyde have his own dæmon that makes Nyla shift into its own animal when he takes over in Tyler's body??? idk I'm just rambling at this point I don't even know what I'm saying)

B, easy. Obe does not pick fights with B. That's his best friend. B is very 'hot and cold' about people, so if he turns cold on Obelus, it's fights for days.

Obelus. He doesn't like when him and B fight, and will almost always take the blame even when it isn't his fault (which is most of the time). If he doesn't surrender, the fight won't end.

Probably B, but it might not be genuine tears. Obelus isn't a big crier, in fact, B desperately wishes Obe would show more emotion.

Well, Obelus is actually fully aware of how horrible B can be. It's less like rose colored glasses, and more like he doesn't care. B can make all the mistakes he wants. Obelus will stay with him regardless.

Obelus. It's one of the only ways he has to really get to B. B can't stand the silent treatment and it might be the only way to really either get his attention back or make him apologize, even if it isn't sincere.

B is really good at pointing fingers. There's hardly anything Obe would blame B for, even when it's literally B's fault. B could break Obe's arm and Obe would thank him and apologize.

Neither, really, but probably Obelus by default since he won't usually blame B either.

Obelus. B likes sharing with Obe, but Obe does not like sharing B with anyone. Obelus mellows out about it when they're adults, but especially as teenagers he HATES that B gives anyone else attention. This causes a lot of fights with A, too.

B without question. Obelus has something that prevents him from getting too emotional most of the time, so even if Obe got mad, it's usually pretty mild. B is like a pipe bomb in your mailbox.

Neither. Obelus is too attached and B is too possessive. If one of them were to seriously break it off, it would probably be B during his 'hot and cold' fits where he sees Obe as the scum of the earth. Then he'd act like he never broke it off, call Obe crazy, and they'd go back to normal.

Hm... Well, I'd say Obe as a tactic to try to get B to come back down to earth.

1st verse Spencer, as in money isn't everything, he didn't need this. He wants to slow down and not rush things. Losing his way, as in just spiraling to what he actually wants and not it being the best thing for either of them

2nd verse Dib. He wants help, with Spencer, with his work, with everything. Lashing out at Spencer in return on whos going to keep things on and in order and keep them under the roof. But its taking a toll on his mental health so it's not good either way and he's run into a corner

3rd verse Spencer and Dib. Kicking back to relax, but always ending up at the bottom of things, rock bottom. No matter how much they can claw and scream, they'll always end up there. It'll stay like that till they both try and take care of their own mental state

4th verse Spencer. Telling Dib that he's gonna drag both of them down with him, jabbing at his childhood as he wasn't treated as an equal, and a nod to the town being right saying Dib isn't worth it

5th verse Dib. Instead of it being money, he's asking if not him, then who else will Spencer look to, to keep him entertained, happy, gratified, jab at how much Spencer is a hypocrite for not trying to fix himself first. 1st verse, 2 ending lines Spencer. Spencer does love Dib, he knows this in his heart and mind. But he also knows that as they continue they're going to hurt each other and neither of them deserves this from the start, especially as children they didn't deserve this

2nd verse, 2 lines Dib. He's trying to remember what it was that Spencer gave him, like in the end their relationship didn't really matter in a way

2nd verse, end 2 lines Spencer, a contrast to Dib. He knew from the start this was a doomed relationship but he still wants Dib to know how much the relationship meant to him and how he's treasured it, unlike Dib has

3rd verse Dib, he doesn't know if he should leave or not. He knows Spencer the most out of everybody and he knows that Spencers acceptance by everybody was probably tarnished when he started dating Dib. He's clinging onto Spencer as the abuse is normalized for either of them, and Dib knows he wants to change. Dib would start to feel disconnected from the whole thing at times, and in the end when they're old, Spencer will be alone. It's obvious, as they both grow Spencer is still as energetic as ever and Dib has gone more laid back. It's showing, and Dib knows Spencer deserves better, and Dib is selfish and keeps Spencer to himself, taking and taking from him and barely ever giving back

4th verse The same as the 2nd verse

5th verse, 2 lines Dib. Spencer was enough, and Dib still treated his like garbage

5th verse, 3rd line Spencer. He knows and can say he was never loved, but he still clings onto a Dib who did love him

5th verse, ending 2 lines Dib. He knows that he can't apologize for something that's a part of him. But instead he uses the song selfishly as the apology Spencer never got

What's up, so today I woke up at 9am and my phone had a missed call from Canada of all places, at about 8am. When I checked the voicemails, it was from the spiritual consult talking about our phone call today, and I was like "oh cool, a reminder to call her at 11am!"

PLOT TWIST! She was in Canada, so she was actually calling me at 11am IN HER TIME-ZONE.

I'm so lucky that she was still free about four and a half hours later. Not only did I text her at 11am in MY time-zone, her phone wasn't set up for international calling, so I had to set up Google Meet, speed through installing the app, and then wait a bit for her email to invite me to the virtual meetup, so that took 10-20 more minutes.

Once we actually got started, though, the consult went pretty well.

I refreshed her memory about the whole situation of "I got a reading from a Filipino group that told me my fiction/fantasy writing and my blog are both blasphemous, and I need to apologize to the anito for offending them sooooo badly."

Which I found really confusing, because the spirits and OTHER PEOPLE who heard about the reading tended to go 'What the fuck?! That's not a thing! The gods don't like storytelling?! A single dusty pagan blog out of millions of other pagan blogs has gotten the anito mad?! ...Hang on, the Filipino group talks about Trese and video games and all that FICTIONAL shit? WELL, it sounds like they're okay with fantasy and blogging, just not YOURS.'"

So the Consult told me that no, neither fiction nor blogging is high on the gods' list of offenses AT ALL, and it's pretty clear that this reading has fucked me up (my words, not hers).

She also got the feeling/message that someone in the Discord was jealous of me, and that is a curveball I didn't expect. There are hundreds of people in the group at a given time. Who would have had enough time to get jealous of my weird shit? And it's been months/years and nobody has noticed that I don't go on there anymore.

Anyway, she told me to try and let this whole mess go, because it's REALLY painful for me, and she might recommend someone local to do a cleansing/tawas with all the energy floating around me.

She also recommended doing an offering to the anito--not specifically an apology (especially not in my current headspace where I just devolve into begging for help/forgiveness), but just as a way to open up communication to the anito. Like, I can make some Filipino food, offer it to the anito, and say 'just in case I've upset you about X/Y subject, here is some food,' because they could very well go "What?! You didn't upset us. But thank you for the sinigang."

Which unexpectedly tracks with how VISCERAL the reactions from Tagalog spirits were, when they heard me screaming for help/forgiveness, got an explanation out of me (or the Water-Spirit) as to why the Feral Child is in so much fucking pain, and they constantly got horrified/appalled.

Which, you know, is something that Lola Buwaya has constantly told them that she's REALLY FUCKING ANNOYED ABOUT. Like, this cycle of despair/begging and horrified concern is NOT good for me.

dreamt of sinking into snow again. also something about a police officer who used a blue sports car as his on duty vehicle, and I wanted to kill him. also going to a new school with the same grade mates as my old one.

oh and also I was in a house yeah. my grandparents' house to be more exact but that didnt really matter. so there's two people covered in blood, they've been fighting. both have a giant wrench as a weapon. one who looks suspiciously like mad mikkelsen as hannibal lecter, their wrench is clearly old, colored red and grey. the other is just some random blonde dude, their wrench is clearly newer, colored a light gray. they're both beat the fuck up. they were fighting. im in the room as well, but I am certain that neither will attack me. a woman comes in. it's hannibal guy's girlfriend. blonde dude goes to clean himself up a bit, comes back. they're all civil for a bit, until blonde tries to, suspiciously slow, throw his wrench at the woman. hannibal has no trouble stopping him. hannibal threatens blonde, but at this point it is clear to me that they are just acting like this to lower the woman's guard. me and blonde step back for a bit as hannibal and the woman talk. he acts all loving. tries to get her to relax by unbuttoning her cardigan.

(lore drop: hannibal guy kills people yeah, his girlfriend knows this. his signature move is to unbutton a top the victim is wearing, before killing them.)

yeah so the woman realises what hannibal is doing and screams and runs for her life. i dont particularly wanna hear the sounds of her dying, so I go to find a place where I'll be least likely to hear it. blonde does the same, although i get the vibe that he only does so to stay out of hannibal's way.

and so the woman is actually quite good at running away from hannibal, probably because she knows his stragedies. for some reason neither of them exit the house during this chase. im lowkey rooting for the woman to win, just cause it'd be interesting to see hannibal lose for once. oh and at this point "winning" means beating the other up until they can't continue the chase. its clear that there is no escaping without conflict. i find a good enough spot to wait it out, and discover that blonde actually thought of the same place.
