Yeah idk, just an important detail: this would be like the og series, but they're regular teens in the 90s. Dragons Rising would be around early to mid 2000s in this AU, so the ninja are teens

Rewatching Ninjago be like-

I haven't watched Ninjago since I was a kid. I think I dropped off around season 10 but tbh I wasn't nearly as invested after everyone's designs were changed to the Movie designs. I was extremely bitter about that, even if I liked the movie (it was a 7/10 experience for me).

So my younger sister, who has only seen the movie, wanted to watch the series and I wanted to watch with her and finally finish this show since I knew it ended back in like 2022 (I don't know what Dragon's Rising is about).

Currently we are on season 4 and it's been a blast.

Season 1 is honestly better than I remembered it.

Season 2 was good.

Season 3... actually wasn't as good at I remembered it. The ending, Good Garmadon, and Zane/Pixal were the highlights though. (Also... I really doubt that Cole had feelings for Nya. My sister and I both agreed there's no straight explanation for him because didn't really seem to really like Nya in that way.)

And so far Season 4 holds up really well to my memory.

Honestly though the most shocking thing for me was how much I really like Lloyd now. Like as a kid watching it I thought Lloyd was good (Kai was my favourite and he's still great) but now Lloyd is my son and I want to protect him and I just want good things to happen to him and for him to just have a happy life and to have his dad-

Yeah I was shocked about it. I think it really hit me when Lloyd sacrificed his childhood in Season 2 that this sweet summer child needed to be protected.

My sister likes show and she keeps getting shocked about how badly- I mean differently the movie portrayed these characters. Her biggest shock was how much of a good dad Garmadon was and how even as an evil guy he still loved his son.

... She hasn't seen the end of season 4 yet. And I haven't told her about how Garmadon comes back in like Season 8 or 9 as evil. (I remember being extremely bitter and upset that Garmadon didn't remember anything from Seasons 3 and 4.)

But yeah I'm excited for Season 5, my favourite season! Literally Kai and Lloyd's brotherly dynamic means everything to me. Not to mention the Possession season is the reason I love possession tropes (Kai trying to reach Lloyd and Lloyd fighting Morro's control was extremely compelling to me).

My sister knows that Nya becomes the water ninja (it's one of the few things she saw when she actually paid attention to when I watched the show as a kid) and she's not excited. She prefers Nya as Samurai X and that's valid.

But yeah, it'll be interesting to finally get to Sons of Garmadon (was that what the season was called?) And finally watch it from a non-bias PoV instead as an extremely bitter kid.

I've also heard a few spoilers about Lloyd's character gets screwed up in the later seasons, so that's... not great.

But I'll go into it with an open mind.

I finished DR part 2, and holy hell it was fantastic! Spectacular First season!

...

So now I'm gonna talk about Episode 17 - The Administration: (spoilers)

The Administration is genuinely a work of art in my opinion, this feels like a mix of old ninjago and new ninjago, it manages to overcomplicate so much-

Yet simplify and clear up everything just as fast-

It's such a brilliant mix of both, and this only managed to make the humor in this episode infinitely more enjoyable and funny, I have not had this much fun with a Ninjago episode in such a long time, it's beautiful.

Speaking of which, goodness gracious THEY DID NOT HOLD BACK WITH JOKES, Doc and Kevin went all out with the humor, and THEY KEPT DOUBLING DOWN ON EVERYTHING BY CONSTANTLY MAKING IT ABOUT PERMITS AND LICENSES.

it only makes Zane's comment about The Administration's gross incompetence hit even harder, these guys have overcomplicated their own system so much, it's slowing them down tremendously.

And don't even get me started on Zane himself, he has so many BADASS MOMENTS IN THIS EPISODE, HE'S SO COOL!

He's pulling a Death Note reference for crying out loud.

And all around, everyone was extremely loveable on this episode, the Administration is extremely stupid but their pure dedication is hilarious and admirable as well.

Lloyd takes a bit of a back seat for some of this episode until like the last third, in favour of Arin and Zane taking over.

And Arin once more proves he's nothing short of an absolute little sweetheart, the kid literally apologises for not sharpening the pens.

(That whole scene with Zane asking why he had pens on him was so funny when I was watching the first time oml).

And I briefly want to touch on the Jay appearance:

Oh my god this fucking idiot literally HAS THE SAME EXACT PERSONALITY EVEN WITH HIS LOST MEMORIES.

If it weren't for Doc and Kevin saying he lost his memories, NO ONE would've known that he has memory loss just from the clip alone, and this scene has an amazing implication:

Regardless of whether he has memories or not, Jay would still act the exact same.

Jay fans, you guys ate good today, and good as in your favourite character having like ~35 seconds of total screentime (out of like, 26,400 seconds).

There's also the Dragon Core, Zane going crazy with his car, Arin asking the agents about his parents, Kai's scene with Wyldfyre and him mentioning how his sister merging with the Sea affacted him in such a deep way (fuck yes IT GOT ACKNOWLEDGE FINALLY), etc

And it's all so fantastic and well rounded, I legit can't get enough of this episode and I'm fairly certain it's my current number #1 favourite episode in all of Ninjago, so congrats The Administration! For being one hell of a banger.

I started Ninjago Dragons Rising (i binged watched 12 episodes and ongoing) and notes so far:

WHERES THE WEEKEND WHIP NOOOOO what the hell is this uwu ass techno beaty thing they play in the intro??

Lloyd is my least favourite ninja after Nya so you can somewhat expect what's coming.

Also the new charcters are just okay just a pie boy (s1 zane) and tech girl (s1-4nya) so original right. But Wyldfyre is... fire. She's very cool I like her.

ALSO WHERES MY BABYGIRL JAY!!! IM CRYING THEY YEETED MY BABYGIRL!!

and babygirl's babygirl cole too ;-;

The whole dimensions merge thing is extremely spiderverse-y but I don't blame ninjago for hopping on the multiverse trend. Its what people like so ninjago serves it. Don't get me wrong I love the multiverse ideas. I love spiderverse but this is ninjago. We have snakes and pirates and this little team who became a family. I always loved ninjago most when it became more of a slice of life (as much as it can be in the life of a ninja) sort of thing. My favourite season is s6 so I think you understand.

And their characterization was so on point then. They did my boy kai dirty later on ;-;

I just don't know. I know this has always been a cartoon directed at kids but it used to have a heart that's why I fell in love with it. Now it just feels like well... a standart cartoon made for milking the money from the name its former seasons built.

I'm not only shitting on dragons rising I have felt this way since s11 to be honest. s13 and 15 was better but then crystalized was just :/

But having said this Ninjago is still better then most of the stuff out there and there's still some stuff that hits well.

And I still love it dearly and I will continue to watch it because of the characters that are important to me very much.

Okay so I watched all of Ninjago Dragons Rising s2p2! I've got so many thoughts and I'm dumping them all here in a long list. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

to start: Cole!! He's a family man! He's got a boyfriend and they hold hands and they care for their kids and Bonzle so obviously came out to them and omg I wanted to cry. The joy of acceptance. I mean come one she kept saying how alone she felt, they're found family, she was repeating that she chose he town name and identity and the villains were insistent that she wants a person but just a spell like come on

But there's more than that, I have questions I have concerns!! Like wtf happend on Coles quest?? With Sensei Wu??? Like he disappeared and turned up again and said he would explain but never did.

Cole also came back from that in his bolder form so did he figure out he could do it on his own then? Is that what he learned on his quest?? If so it's gonna be a little awkward when he tried to explain that to his bf Geo.

With part 2 I really want to see the whole gang meet them and talk and catch up on everything. Like cole has been missing since the merge and no one this season cared. At all. They hadn't seen him in ages- didn't even know if he was alive until drs1 but nope no worries or concerns. Not even a question of what he was up to.

When he came through the portal Zane wasn't worried or confused at all, just oh? You need some help?? Sure let's beat these bad guys and not worry or show emotions! Is a tearful reunion for my fav character too much to ask?? Cuz he clearly deserves it. :(

And then into both Zane and Coke this season!! Love them!! They've always been my fav duo (gonna have to start shipping geo/Cole/Zane as poly now) it was so fun to see them going around together with Bonzle. They had some great moments and I'm praying we get more in the next part.

On the other hand it was a shame they got such small roles- just seperated from the others as a way to help Bonzle. It means they didn't have the same lessons or knowledge the others got which is totally unfair!! They have a lot to catch up on. They also never got a chance to be part of the main battle

It's dumb but I was kinda hoping for Cole to show off his stronger powers (he always seems to get new powers every other season but that's a discussion for another day). Like sure he could use his robotic mech suit but that's been done before! He can do his boulder thing now (unless somehow he still thinks he can't which means he kept up that form for several days on his quest) and when he made that giant mid hut to protect his family!! I want to see him do that again! Let me man go ape shit to protect Bonzle.

And on another note, Geo my beloved, you should get a chance to shine with your powers. A chance to show off or at least have a talk about them with Cole.

Next up WyldFyre. I was worried they would make her the annoying comic relief cuz if her injury but her talks about losing loved ones and dragon culture and her home were really sweet and it was great to see some development so driven by battles. I love those too don't get me wrong but like I needed to see this side of her. And I adore her relationship with Kai, being besties/mentors/dad for her works so great for both characters.

I will be first to admit that

Kai wasn't really my favourite. If you couldn't tell I love Cole followed by Zane. Always have and likely always will. I suppose that early Kai reminded me too much of some guys form my class and they turned into shitheads and I've always struggled to reconcile Kai's image form theirs. He was always a little too brash, hotheaded, and too often written as stupid to fall into my good graces.

And yet this season I adored him. Of course I've never hated him but like this season made me see what all his fans (many many fans) see in him.

I thought Kai being the first to master such a new, difficult and crucial skill was incredibly satisfying. Form all the way back to season 1 he's been the butt of jokes- having to learn he's not the centre of the universe and sometimes it's others like Lloyd who are the chosen ones. That's all great but him now getting a starting role, his ability being fueled by thoughts of his family, by his childhood and by protecting is friends was just too good to ignore him. Love this form of his character more than any other I've seen.

And now Kai is trapped :(

I'm glad he's got Bonzle with him tho so hopefully they can have each other's backs (she's meant to be a POWERFUL spell after all) they'll need each other if they're trapped with those other 4 guys. If they can apparently demolish everything then I'm rather worried for the duo. Tbh I'm sure they'll survive just fine, probably making jokes at Cole's expense all the while.

On a side note, I found it super cute how WyldFyre was willing to protect and go down with Kai. Besties I'm telling ya

Now Jay. I've never thought too hard about him I know he's one of the favs of the fandom but like Kai I was never so besotted with him. Still a great guy and omg I feel so bad. One of his worst fears was always being alone and now stuck, confused, forced to hide such a fundamental part of himself.

On the other hand he's got a gun now so that's fun!!

And you can't talk about him without mentioning Nya. He worst fears being him forgetting hurts my soul. And she was so sure it could never be true that she snapped out of her nightmare state!! She's going to break when she finds out.

She's already grieving her own brother, we saw her break down into WyldFyre (more proof she's an honorary sibling by now) but now knowing what's happening with Jay, I'm saying the angst is going to be overpowering. It's a greek tragedy fr

Part 2 is going to be rough. Jay only had a single scene but it's already a sign for the worst to come.

Speaking of things being rough, Lloyd is going THROUGH IT!! give this poor guy a break. I do appreciate that we physically get to see the effects of all his trauma- that everything that's happened has real consequences for his character and the story but I can't help but feel bad.

I've also suffered from anxiety for most of my life so to see it in a character like that feels really personal to me. Hope he gets a little break though, god knows he deserves it.

Have to say it's pretty funny that Lloyd's had so much Oni trauma that he forgot that he's part dragon too. Yes ninjas dragons can do spinjitsu why are you surprised at this point

The animation this season has been incredible, the fights were beautiful the angles so interesting and dynamic and I could go on for hours about how much I love it. It's always great when kids -and even animation in general is treated with respect. It doesn't dumb it's ideas and stories and characters for the sake of it's younger audience, and that makes it so much better for me who is definitely out of the age range.

I have my more points to make but I've been adding stuff in and off for ages so I'll probably go through this all later. Thanks for reading, please I want to know your own thoughts too I love discussing that kinda stuff!!

Well look at you!!! Are you dressed as Wirt from Over the Garden Wall!!??? I really love that show, although I really don’t watch it as often as I should. I first watched it like any old kid does, pirated through YouTube with the actual episode in the corner as a tiny square and the rest of the screen filled with other nonsense! Boy, you really haven’t lived if you haven’t done that at least once in your life. Once watched someone’s upload of the entire Toy Story 4 movie like that — can you believe it? Someone posting the entire Toy Story 4 movie on YouTube! The best part is, it stayed on there for like four weeks! What a fun time.. now, fortunately nowadays with me being on the interwebs more often I know some peeps have posted the whole OtGW series on Google docs which they’ve then shared around, which is pretty nifty indeed! Really appreciate folks doing stuff like that, because otherwise digital media can just vanish into the air with the way streaming is nowadays. Rotten stuff.

Oh, anyway, Over the Garden Wall! Yes, I remember when I first started watching that show. I remember watching the very opening, thinking, “Scenes of the past? No, scenes of fantasy? No… perhaps passing memories, fleeting dreams and thoughts?” I like to think I was pretty right, personally! I like that we’re shown… well, I won’t say much, but with such a simple opening everything happens in plain sight. Even moreso when you look at the Easter eggs, like the intro of each episode!!! Gosh, I felt amazed when I learned all the things it hides!!! I used to gobble down theory videos one after the other about the show! A good show really has you thinking and looking at things with a keen eye and ear, doesn’t it? Over the Garden Wall is such eye candy too, it’s funny how a show can have a simple style like that and yet so detailed too, I’m sure the art style took a while to brew and develop.

My very favourite character was Wirt, no doubt you can guess, when I watched OtGW I was but an insecure teenager myself and as an oldest sibling who plays clarinet, well, it was like a match made in the Unknown! Now that I’m more grown Wirt comes across more silly to me now, ha. Funny how that is you know? When you grow up, you can see the same story at different points in your life, but relate to different characters. That happened to me once with this book about a primary school age girl in foster care. When I was a younger kid, I related a bunch to the main character and her frustrations and struggles, but when I later read the book again as a… teen maybe? I found myself relating more to the adults in her life. It was a strange kind of thing to experience. It helps me remember that to children, things that may seem small to adults, can be really major and big! Children’s concerns should be taken into account all the same, they shouldn’t be simply brushed off as nonsense. Teenagers’ too!

Actually, hey! Speaking of Over the Garden Wall, this I hope you’ll like, I put a little reference to it in my most recent tumblr fake dashboard post! I haven’t seen anyone point it out at all!?? It is none other than fishblr user burgle-the-turts! Their icon no doubt confirms it: a teapot, similar to the kettle Greg wears — I mean, sorry, his elephant costume. The “burgle the turts” line lives in my brain, what can I say. Giving my opinion on NINJAGO seasons!

Pilot: It’s the beggining, so yeah, that’s not that much in there. (Also, Shadow Garmadon).

Season 1: I like this is season, is nostalgic to me, and is the only season where Pythor is taken seriously. (Kid Llyod ❤️).

Season 2: I like everything in there, specially the scenes between Llyod and Garmadon, also, Child’s Play is a episode that I still cry when watching it, because I know the meaning of the episode and it hurts.

Season 3: Not my favorite, but still cool, there was Zane’s first death and SENSEI GARMADON YEAH!!!

Season 4: I already said but one of my favorites seasons! I just love Chen! He’s such a cool villan!! AND SENSEI GARMADON IN THERE?!? IS SO PERFECT I LOVE HIM!! AND THE FOOD!! OR ZANE’S NEW DESING!!! AND THE ANACONDRAI THING?!? GARMADON’S DEATH!!

Season 5: My third favorite season, I JUST LOVE MORRO SO MUCH!!! But of course I hate what he did to Llyod, and Sensei Garmadon again! And Ghost Cole (I feel sad for him).

Season 6: ONE OF TEH BEST SEASONS SO FAR!!! JAY FIRST FOCUS!! NADAKHAN IS A FUCKER BUT STILL A GOOD VILLAN!! THE JAYA SCENES!!! THE LORE AND EVERYTHINGS IS JUST PERFECT!!! After season 4, it’s my favourite season.

Season 7: It brokes the pattern a little because the last 2 season the villans where taking seriously, while Krux and Acronix are just two bastards who wants to rule NINJAGO, but I love their sibling relationship because it remembers me and my brother relationship.

Season 8: I don’t like this season very much, I think it’s just a sorry to say “Let’s bring Emperor Garmadon back”.

Season 9: I don’t like the scenes on NINJAGO City, I prefer the scenes on the First World. AND YOUNG WU?!? TEEN AND ADULT ARE SO- HOW COULD HIM TURN IN LONG BEARD OLD MAN?!? HOW?!?

Season 10: I don’t like it, I hate it, it’s just a season to be there, it just exists.

Season 11: I just love Akita, and ICE EMPEROR YEAH!!! FINALLY AN GOOD VILLAN FROM THIS NEW ERA!!

Season 12: I love this season! For someone who likes a lot videogames, this season was perfect! I love the references!! And Avatar Jay-

Season 13: I like this season, they don’t give focus on Llyod or doesn’t make him suffer, Kai and Nya’s relationship is adorable!! I like Vania too!! And don’t forget about Cole backstory!! It just, super cool!

Season 14: Yep, Nya’s turning into the sea (I cried, A LOT) and I love Benthomaar! It’s a good season.

Season 15: I just like it because of Oni Llyod, this season wasn’t that much for me. Oh! Couldn’t forget about Vinny and Garmadon of course!!! Lol.

Ninjago LGBTQ+ Headcanons 'cause I'm way in over my head

After taking a break from watching Ninjago for 4-ish years, I'm back and deeper in the ship spiral than I've ever been. I kinda like all Ninja ships (besides the Lloyd ones) so let's just get into it!

Sexualities

Cole is gay

Zane is panromantic and on the ace spectrum

Jay is a bi disaster

Lloyd is pan/biromantic ace

I'm not sure about Kai but he has a preference for guys

Nya is wlw/polysexual

Skylor is bi

Cole had a little thing for Zane when they first met

It was short lived, but he and Zane are very close and Zane has a special place in Cole's heart

Kai also had a bit of a crush on Zane in the earlier seasons, and thought his oddness was endearing

Lloyd had a crush on Cole when he was younger, but Cole was oblivious and ofc didn't reciprocate anyway so the feelings eventually faded

Lloyd just thought he was super cool and nice and liked his hair a lot

Jay also had a thing for Cole around S3

That's part of the reason he fought so hard with Cole over Nya, because he was confused and didn't understand why he felt that way about his best friend

Also it kinda sucked to see his two crushes getting so close

But he worked through it on his own, came to terms with his sexuality and his romantic feelings for Cole eventually faded. When he was sure of how he felt, he and Nya made it official

Both Pixal and Zane admire the aesthetic-ness of Jay's curly hair and freckles together

Regretfully, Jay thought teen Wu was good looking

I interpreted Skylor's "Keep in touch" at the end of Season 4 as a casual breakup with Kai 😅 so I headcanon that she and Nya always flirted with each other whenever they saw each other after

Kai totally didn't mind and was too busy being smitten with Cole anyway

They've both had crushes on each other for ages, though Kai's was momentarily diminished when he met Skylor

When they have that party on the Bounty in Season 1 after retrieving all four Fang Blades, Kai grabbed Cole's hands and they just danced together, laughing for the rest of the song.

Jay and Nya noticed and gave each other smirky, knowing looks like 😏

When recounting the rest of the trials they faced on Chen's Island to each other, Cole thought it was cute that Kai couldn't skate and decided he'd take him one day to learn

Plus Cole got them all to lie on the bed in Kai's room partly so he could be near him

He was a little torn over Kai's crush on Skylor but he mostly thought Kai was adorably hopeless

You know how after Cole danced the Triple Tiger Sashay in S1, Kai ran up to him and just hugged him? He didn't know or care if what he felt was platonic or romantic, he was just so proud of Cole and wanted to show him

So Cole knows Kai's comfortable with hugging him and he kind of turns to Kai whenever he's in major need of comfort

After he turned into a ghost, I headcanon that he approached Kai, just leaned into him and let himself be held (as best as he could). Kai, of course, wanted to support him as much as possible and they both love each others' touch, so it was a win-win

That was also when Cole's hands first solidified, which is why he's not surprised when he hugs Nya later and the same thing happens

One of Kai's favourite songs is secretly that Glow Worm song from Season 8 that Cole sang all the time

Cole thinks that under his cocky attitude and hotheaded-ness, Kai has the kindest heart because of how encouraging he always was (particularly in S1-5)

Kai thinks Cole is one of the sweeter people he's ever met, though he loves his tough side

He thinks about what a good father Cole is gonna be when they have their own kids lol

My sleep deprived ass talks about Ninjago

I just recently re-awaken my 12 year old self by catching up to the newer seasons of Ninjago (I stopped watching after season 10, picked it back up at season 11) except for the Sea Bound season. I still have yet to watch it when writing this.

I’m just gonna ramble about the show in general. This is not a fancy essay.

Firstly, the writers for this show did not need to make it this heavy on character and world building. They could have leave it at just fighting Lord Garmadon every season and just cancel it after three seasons or so and sell their toys. They didn’t even need to make Zane a nindroid either, but here we are with one of the coolest characters ever (pun unintentional).

The only other Lego show I watched is Monkey Kid. I did watch only one episode of Nexo Knights I think, but that was because I was stuck in a hotel room, and I don’t remember anything from it.

I appreciate the balance of having characters sharing their time in the spotlight, but then have a conclusion for them instead of just forgetting about them. (Garmadon getting killed off, Ronin getting arrested, the surphanteen staying underground [I think? Season 11 made it confusing for me], etc)

Pixel being a permanent character, is a good addition to the show. Her being a voice in Zane’s head was a good idea to slowly move her into the main cast (Though I forgot how her and Zane were kidnapped during season 4). With Nya being the water Ninja, I guess someone else had to be Samurai X.

While we’re on the topic of Pixel, Zane’s death was probably the biggest thing to happen in the show. I never manage to watch Ninjago on television, but I assume some kids out there were probably sad or confused to what happened to him. And they gotta wait a couple more months to see what had happened to him, and see him redesigned. At first I was ify about it, but it makes sense to me now. When Zane does some of his robotic stuff, children will most likely be confused on why some normal person is able to do that. By making him have an android body, it leaves the writers not having to repetitively explain why he can do some android thing, but also let new viewers know “Ok, he’s the ninja robot”. (Same reason for the redesigns after the movie came out, I have neutral feelings on the movie, I didn’t bother rewatching it)

And I guess, aging Lloyd up, was maybe a reason to not let the ninjas look like baby sitters, and let Lego have a cool ass set and not a funny looking child as the green ninja.

Btw, the voice acting for the background children in the show is something that I never really liked personally.

My favourite season of the whole series is Possession. Because one: spooky ghost shit, two: My man Lloyd gets possessed, and it’s not just some ghost floating around. Whenever I watch show with a monster of some kind, they never do the thing they’re suppose to do (ghost possessing people, vampires drinking blood/turning people into them [just do what adventure time did with drinking red if you want to keep it pg],etc. btw I’m still waiting for a game/show with a cool ass vampire character), three: Nya being the water ninja, four: The best theme song remix, five: Cole becoming a ghost and they let him stay that way for another season, and six: Morro.

I like to mention that progressively, Master Wu begins to show more flaws over each season. Like regretting Morro, hiding his past with that one snake that I forgot the name of, letting his age get the better of himself. He has become more than just a teacher.

While it has been a bit since I watched the show, how did Misako and Garmadon fall in love? I remember him becoming evil at a young age, and where was Misako when Lloyd was the evil wanna be? Boy, that was a funny thing to remember about Lloyd.

I pay no attention to the romance in the show besides Jay and Nya, so I feel like it’s not my place to talk about if it’s good or bad.

And how the hell does time and age work in this show? Wu and Garmadon’s father was the first master and found the city of Ninjago, I think. Do they progress very quickly in that world? And is Zane like very old now because of season 11? And who was the previous ice master???? Zane’s an enigma.

What happened after season 10 as well? Production wise, because each episode before has a 22 minute run while they cut that for the newer seasons. I also remember being very confused on which seasons was which because I didn’t have the wiki back then, they have a weird consistency of episodes. A regular season would have about 10-13 episodes, while season 3 had 8, 10 had 4, 11 had 30, and the rest have 16 which I’m assuming is now the new normal amount. It was something I found very odd.

In the end, Ninjago is a very nice little show that I will definitely come back to when I’m bored, and when the finale comes, I hope it gets a proper ending. It may not be perfect, I don’t think we’ll ever get a show like it anytime soon. If there was a show like it, it may have been not able to take it self off the ground because of modern cartoon standards. If Ninjago aired now it probably get canceled after season 3 and we’ll all be sad and have to theorized what the hell happened to Zane.

So I’ll end this by saying, Zane and Cole are my favourite characters. And why do the writers keep torturing poor Zane?! I want another Jay or Kai based season. I don’t really want to count season 12 as it.

I know nothing about how the fan base acts either, but I’m sure your all nice people. :)

Edit: I rewatched the first two seasons, and now know why Misako left. But did she have to leave him at a boarding school of all places? He has a reliable uncle, was Lloyd always acting like a brat, and so she had no choice but to leave him there?

rating ninjago seasons with explanations because i was bored (spoilers obvs)

way of the ninja: 6/10 - i remember watching this ages and ages ago, to me they were just filler episodes to me as i��d watched all the way to rebooted at that point, not super interesting but it started everything so extra points for that

rise of the snakes: 5/10 - YES its old i know but the… the GD attack should have caused more chaos… destroyed more stuff… it only moved a couple cars in this season (which entirely changes in SoG with harumi’s flashbacks) which i thought was … weird, even when i was younger lol… but theres development of characters n all i think a lot of it is rad !

legacy of the green ninja: 6/10 - pretty good, i haven’t watched this in a while so i dont remember much but the end battle is Legendary so there’s extra points for that and also extra points for dareth being introduced hee hee

rebooted: 6/10 - the whole overlord and nindroids thing is … pretty cool ?? pixal and cyrus exist now so !!!! that adds points !!! when i was younger i remember watching zanes sacrifice a lot cuz i couldnt get over it, and now i can recite all the words off by heart … lol anyway i think this seasons ok 👍

tournament of elements: 8/10 - very good, i loved seeing the other elemental masters !!!! and chen is actually a very cool villain, especially when i was younger, i loved him then lol … the ending is kinda 😟 bc garmy technically dies but yea its a gud season C:

possession: 10/10 - this season is EVERYTHING???? the intro SLAPS, the whole aesthetic is incredible and not to mention theres a whole bunch of favourite characters content in this season so that adds extra points !!!! the story all flows smoothly and its just Mmmm so gud. i love it dearly, defo a comfort season i’ve watched it so many times

skybound: 7/10 - i can see why some people hate this season as the whole nadakhan marrying nya thing is VERY weird (even my cousin who was 6 at the time when we first watched it could tell that) … but theres extra points for 1. the whole misfortunes keep crew, i love them, and 2. the ninja replacements team, i also care them all so dearly … the lighting in this season is super good, and also the storyline threads together well, i just find it very Appealing how it goes back to how it started

hands of time: 4/10 - idk man its just … boring, i can’t really be interested enough to watch to the end of the season? extra points for acronix being pretty and the scruff moments tho lol…. also whats with more snake people …. cant be ninjago without snakes ig LMAO

day of the departed: 5/10 - i also just see this as a filler… i mean yes it tells how cole turned back from a ghost but otherwise it’s just kinda random but i still liked it

sons of garmadon: 7/10 - pretty good ! harumi is a very cool character tho i do think shes kinda selfish … like a lot of others probably lost family in the GD attack??? kind of confused … but the SoG group as a whole is VERY epic i love the designs for UV and mr E (killows design just throws me off tho… why Real Hands..)

hunted: 10/10 - SO damn good the storyline is EVERYTHING and i love how it switches POVs every so often to keep things on edge. its also pretty dark for a kids show and that makes it better, and the cinematics for this are all just AMAZING…. i care the dragon designs so much, mmmmmmmmmm beloveds :^)

march of the oni: 6/10 - wasted!!!!! potential!!!!! the oni were such a good show of fantastic character design and they were just….. taken out in like 5 seconds despite them literally being the embodiment of destruction? there was literally two seasons before this of the ninja dealing with one (1) embodiment of destruction and then when theres LOADS that make tentacle death clouds and are super OP they just … are defeated????? ok…… also what was the point in coles fall fr it just made me sad for no reason🙁

secrets of forbidden spinjitzu: 6/10 - the fire chapter was … cool ? i guess, wasn’t the most interesting, aspheera is hot tho lol😝(LITERALLY !!!!! Funny joke pls laugh.)also clutch being introduced adds points, love the stupid explorer man. the ice chapter is super dark, i loved seeing the never-realm and how everything worked there, and ?? evil zane ?!??!? sheeeeeesh that was a bold move that was super epic … i liked this part of the season :^0

prime empire: 10/10 - another comfort season YEAHHHHH !!!! the aesthetic !! so good !!! the characters r RAD like scott and okino and seven I LOVE THEM SO DEARLY ….. the soundtrack is RAD as well i listen to it plentifully …… the ending is happysad and i always go a bit cry when unagami and milton walk away together :’^)

master of the mountain: 8/10 - the whole slavery thing is … questionable but the skull sorcerer’s design is super awesome ! and the upply … i care them … :^)))) AND A COLE SEASON !!!! i loved the development for him !!! and the way that vania and cole stayed a friendship the whole time cuz it never implied they were gonna date or whatever which made me happy honestly … i rated it 8/10 as the extra points are from the upply

the island: shit/10 - what the fuck was that. the islanders were cool i liked their designs but seriously i hated the ending so bad like there was no reason for ronin to be the antagonist again … just let clutch steal the amulet and there you have it all set up for the next season whoooo

seabound: 9/10 - again i love the aesthetic, the glowy-ness of everything is so pretty in this, and the design for wojira is amazing … tho this season is super sad, im sure theres reasoning for the ending of it :)))))) the storyline is also very good in this ! it does actually make sense which sometimes doesnt happen ……...

Just watched the prime empire shorts and the Gayle Gossip one was definitely my favourite, mainly because of how ridiculous the situation is from the outside.

People are going missing randomly, and this random ass game called prime empire is the new trend in Ninjago, its so popular that even Nelson's mom has gone missing.

The authorities have all but cracked down on any info about prime empire itself, and the incident that eventually led to the ninja getting a hold of the motherboard needed to turn on prime empire.

Which may I add, makes NO SENSE whatsoever in my opinion, yes the situation is really damn bad, yes people are gonna start panicking when the info gets out, but at the same time, most people going to these arcades are children, or teenagers.

Yes there are adults to be fair, but I think they'd be mature enough to know that staying away from prime is for thier own good, and as for the children and teenagers, I don't think thier parents would even let them get near an arcade if they find out about prime empire.

Side note: they have knock off sonic in the Ninjago universe lmao

But back to the short and situation,

Zane at one point shows up when an arcade owner was being interviewed, and he urges people to stay away from the game.

You'd think NGTV would immediately stop interviewing the arcade owner and focus on Zane's warning immediately, but apparently nope!

You'd think that people would take Zane's warning seriously, but fucking NOPE!

Why can't the government of Ninjago have Zane "Sacrifed myself to save the world." Julien, Or P.I.X.A.L "Samurai-X Saved the city from the preeminent."Borg make a public announcement revealing information about prime empire while urging people to stay away from it?

I just saw Ninjago trending and man. I used to watch it with my brother when we were like...11? 12? I haven't thought about it in years.

Zane was my favourite because of how serious and stoic he was. My Zane lego figure was one of my most prized possessions as a kid.

At one point I saved up enough pocket money to buy the Destiny's Bounty Lego set and my mum refused to let me buy it because she thought I just wanted it to piss my brother off when I wanted it because I was lowkey obsessedwith ninjago. So instead I bought Pokemon Black to piss my brother off.

I think I found Jay kind of annoying. Can't remember why.

My brother had a whole bunch of those Ninjago spinner things (can't remember what they were called) and we used to get real heated about who won and who lost when we played with them. Shit used to get intense.

Didn't Lord Garmadon's son get like magically aged up at one point?

And there was whole plot line with evil snake lords which I only vaguely remember because I bought one of the lego sets and there was a snake guy. And there was something about magic staffs?

I dunno what the point of this post was but Zane is still awesome (I love my robot son okay) and I will fight anyone and everyone to the death over this, meet me in the pit at dawn.

Pilot season

I don't know how someone couldn't love the pilot season. It's the begining of a story. Far far from away in 2011 I really loved it and watch several times, before season one was released. I watched all extra-epesodes and was really enjoyed. I just fall in love with this japanish atmosphere and all ninja stuff (I was really ninja dude). And gosh! There where my love for Garmadon aplears. I was relly the guy who always fall for bad gus charm and all this evil stuff. And now, seeing this brothers' war and the evil one is the oldest, I just can't help but in some way comprehend him to myself, as I am the oldest one among my siblings (or in 2011 I was the oldest among us two, with my sister). Sometimes I felt not understood, strange to my family. So, yeah, I just found a peace of myself in Garmadon

Oh, and his word just get me

"You.... You always was his favourite!"

Did you even here with how much emotions he said it? Like, he is jelous of younger brother was having more love! And the pain! I just can't stop listening this word and feel so much sorrow!

Goooosh! I love this season! And rewatching it as adult is so cool!

First season

I just remeber one day my brother presented me a CD-disc with the first episode of the first season. Aaaand

I fall in love with lil bean Lloyd. Not because he is cute, more because he was son of Lord Garmadon. And I was really obsessed with Garmadon (still obsessed). So, I just was really waiting for the new series and watch them ongoing. I really really REALLY love first season. I was very glad to see Garm again (and gosh I falled in love with him for the second time, when saw he has four arms). And this series where Garm was rescuing Lloyd with ninjas. I rewatched them really many times. And then when Garmadon destroyed the Great Devouver. I was happy for much Garm time in the season. And all this family stuff :3

Oh, and Zane a robot. It was shock for me and my siblings. I was in love with Zane from the first seasin. And then. Gooosh, I fall in love more. I really like all this robot stuff and was just really happy

Oh! And I remember, how me and my brother were argueing about, who will be the green ninja. As he loved Kai, he said that it would be him. I wss sure, it would be Zane, 'cause he us the smartest, a nindroid and first unlocked his true potential

So, we both were suprised, when it came to be Lloyd. But I wasn't mad. I was excited! Now it means, that he needed to fight his own father! And I saw how both didn't want it to do! And I was already a huge fan of Star Wars, so this battle between good son and evil dad is gets me!

I am still excited of this season and love to rewatch it.

So, Second season

No need to say, I was in love with it like with first seasin. Much Garmatime on screen. Many my presious bean Lloyd. And then they show us Lloyd's mom -- Misako. Here I fall in love with my OTP Garsako.

And I loved that she was finaly with the ninjas and again family stuff!

There were so much of ninjas development and I just love the meaning of some episodes (like the one with leviathan with the meaning, that sometimes monsters not an evil one. They just want to be free. And you can fight evil witjout fighting (again this meaning)). And yeah! The dad and son stuff again, with both don't want to fight, but it's destiny!

Oooh, and my favourite episode now is "The last hope". Just, I love the scene with Garmadon and Misako! And this dialoge

Misako: Then you are not the man I married. I should go...

Garmadon: *panicing* No! *with so much complexed feelings" Don't...

Just that moment is killing me. Even being evik, Garmadon still loves very much his wife. It tells as the scene where Misako enters Garmadon's room (or the place where he was) and he is just suprised and nervous, trying to be confident, but he become nervous, panicing. Gosj, I just love this scene!

And I love the ending, though! I love how Garmadon was trying to fight Overlord from posessing his bode, and how he was cheering up Lloyd for not giving up!

And yhe final battle was really epic!

And I love the scene, after defiting Overlord and Ninjas' reunited. But I don't really like that Garmadon become human and not four-armed.... 'Cause... you know, I just love his evil look (and then I just thought, that it was not very right for him to become human). But I still love the ending anyway.

And of course, I love to rewatch the season!

So, a small conclusion, 'cause that was my first period as NinjaGo fan.

I still love first three seasons and tgey are one of the best for me. I can rewatch them, like all time! Yes, I can see some details, that is not so serious, just due to the fact, that it is kids show. But still the show is great! The story is awesome!

For a long time, I stopoed watching ninjago and didn't no that it was continueing. I stopped kinda... For three years, I think. And then in 206-2017, I continued watching them, from the beginning till season 6. But I will talk about it in another post, 'cause right now, I am rewatching season 3 and wanna just write my comprehends from what I thought in 2016/17 about it and my thoughts right now. Zane watched, perched on his favorite resting point in the lake as Cole ran along the shore. Cole himself had made the resting point using his affinity for earth. It was a shallow bowl shaped rising in the water, close enough to the surface that he could sit or lay down comfortably and still be visible above water while being just deep enough to keep his tail and gills submerged. There were two similar ones to his left for Nya and Skylor whenever they decide to come over to his side of the lake but his was hand carved with beautiful patterns and colourful stones embedded along it by his thoughtful mate.

Said mate who looked majestic running along the shore line, sending water splashing when the the waves came in too close. His hair had grown out over the winter and he had Nya pull it in a ponytail. He wasn't just running for fun however. He insisted that he hunt today. He found land animals unique in taste and while he loved fish, he like a change in diet from time to time. So after mentioning that to the kelpie during their morning swim (the sudden change in the dynamics of the lake confused breeding fish and a few who were supposed to be heading further north to lay their eggs had done so here instead. They decided it was a good thing and frequently checked to see how the hatchlings are doing), he took it upon himself to hunt for his mate.

“What has Cole so busy?” Nya says, sliding up onto the rest next to him.

“He's hunting.” Zane informed her, resting his chin in his webbed hand. “I've never actually seen him do it so I thought I'd observe.” He says and Nya hummed.

“I'm surprised he finds any prey with those thundering hooves of his.” She snorts.

“I thought the same thing at first.” Zane says quietly, watching him turn at the start of the fjord filtering fresh sea water into their new home, eyes on the small woodland bracketing a third of their home, arrow drawn tightly in his bow. “But he's being loud on purpose. It spooks prey out of hiding and their panic would make them uncoordinated and easy to take down. He's managed to do this for a few but he rejected them it seems.” He says, a little confused on the last part.

“Cole goes all out for you, no matter what he does. Of course he'll be picky hunting for you.” Nya says with a grin, nudging him with her tail and he smiled a little, blushing at that. “Oh. Looks like he's chosen.” She says and Zane watcher in awe as Cole went stock still, eyes focused on his target.

He breathed out slowly and let his arrow fly, a wounded yelp sounding after. He then grinned, swinging the bow over his shoulder and trotted off into the woodland. He reappeared soon after with a deer over his hide, blood running from its throat.

“Strong man.” Nya says, wagging her brows and Zane laughed, splashing her with the icy water.

They both slipped off the rest and swam towards the shore coming up to the place where both warm and frigid waters mixed.

“Big one. I know Skylor would love a taste.” Nya commented as Cole slid the corpse off of him.

“Which reminds me. She and the others should be here any moment now. I should get extra for them. You know how Lloyd is with deer.” Cole says, kneeling to steal a kiss from his mate.

“I'll help. If I recall, Master Wu has a taste for fish as well.” Zane says with a smile, cupping Cole's cheek.

“What's with the secret huddle?” They all looked up as Jay circled overhead before landing. “Oh deer! Get it?” He says with a grin, and Nya splashing him as Zane chuckled.

“Jokes aside, Lloyd is actually just starting to change his scales. He'll be here for a while before he has to leave for the Spirit Coves. Dragon growth spurt and all.” Kai says, hovering next to them.

Just then, a loud thud sounded and they saw a green dragon crain its head up and roar. It would have been intimidating if his roar hadn't cracked half way in. They were left laughing instead.

“You guys are jerks.” Lloyd huffed, crossing his front paws, before in a puff of green, he was his less scaly form.

In this form, he looked almost human if his slitted green eyes, pointed ears, peaking fangs, folded wings and scaled tail wasn't enough of a give away. Considering that he was part dragon, part Oni (demon) and human all in one, he leaned more towards his dragon heritage unlike his demonic father. Speaking of.

“Did Master Garmadon get your message Master Wu?” Zane asked the white dragon as he shifted into a similar state as his nephew.

“Yes. He should be back shortly after Lloyd returns from the Spirit Coves. The venom of the Great Devourer's bite may not be able to injure him but the effects have to be dealt with gently.” Wu says and Lloyd hung his head.

“Cheer up squirt. Your dad will be fine. He's tough, remember?” Cole says, ruffling his hair, earning a hiss and a swipe of claws in the direction of where his hand was. “Tell you what, how about we hunt you something to eat. The deer have wandered pretty close by…” He says, swinging Lloyd up on his hide and he beamed, near drooling at the mention of his favourite meal.

“Hey! How comes he gets to ride on your back!” Jay protested, zapping Jim for good measure.

“Ow! That's why you cluck!” Cole yelled and Zane laughed.

“Hey Skylor! Where have you been?” Kai asked once she walked up to where everyone was eating on the shore outside.

“Molting. I hate it but at least it all goes one time.” She shrugged then walked over to Nya, leaning down and kissing her.

“I kept it safe like you asked.” Nya says, gesturing to her seal skin she wrapped around her neck.

“Great. Hold onto it for a while longer, would you?” She asked, sitting next to her and Nya nodded with a smile, returning to her meal, offering her some.

Zane on the other hand wasn't sure of what to do. The only ones he's eaten in front of was Nya, Skylor and Cole after a lot of reassuring. He feared his mouth may be unsettling for some.

“Aren't you hungry Zane?” Master Wu asked but before he could use that as an excuse, his stomach growled.

Loudly.

“Ha! Zane's stomach is more intimidating than you!” Jay grinned at Lloyd who glared at the harpy before plucking a feather, making him yelp.

“Serves you right.” Kai smirked at his mate as he whined into his feathers.

“Zane?” Cole's soft, worried voice called and he looked up at his mate before looking away.

“I… The way I eat is-”

“That's what this is all about?” He looked up at Cole, confused. “Snowflake, no-one minds or even cares how you eat.” Cole says, holding onto his webbed hand.

“Oh. Cold water mers have a very flexible jaw for the very big prey that live there.” Master Wu explained to a confused Lloyd.

“Ok. But what does that have to do with not wanting to eat? I'm pretty sure I can open my mouth wider than yours.” Lloyd pointed out before shifting and opened his mouth wide and took a big bite out of the deer he hunted all by himself.

“You might not have noticed but I don't chew. I eat my meals whole.” Skylor pointed out before demonstrating by swallowing down a large fish.

“I think Jay and I are the only ones who have small mouths but that doesn't stop Jay from getting food even on his tail feathers.” Kai says pointedly, to the messy eater who looked at him sheepishly, scales in his hair.

"The fangs are still new so my way of eating is a little different too." Cole says, nudging him gently and he smiled a little.

“There’s no such thing as normal. Everyone is unique in habits and more. Here, we are all family and we accept each other, flaws and all.” Master Wu says and Zane looked around at his strange pod before smiling.

“Plus, it'll be a shame for that deer to go to waste…” Lloyd says, licking his maw.

“It would be, wouldn't it?” Zane says, looking down at the untouched deer Cole had hunted and even skinned, just for him.

His stomach rumbled once more and he looked to Cole who nodded. He then sighed, letting go of insecurity. They watched in awe as he opened his mouth, revealing blue muscles in his cheeks and a very blue mouth filled with sharp teeth and a long dark blue tongue before he struck into the upper thigh of his prey, teeth cutting through the flesh easily and breaking bone. The group all cheered for him and Cole grinned, proud of his mate.

The rest of their meal was uneventful but the happy aura never left. Zane's pod was a strange one indeed but he wouldn't trade them for anything.

(Idk what to call this Au so I just put the first thing that came to mind. Also, Lloyd! He looks like his kid self now but after his trip to the Spirit Coves, he'll look like current Lloyd but with more demonic features. That's another story. Also, Lloyd doesn't know Misako. She was a human and died before he hatched several years ago from natural causes (I made her lay an egg that took years to hatch >:3 I also gave Garmadon the chance to raise his son). Finally, Garmadad isn't fully evil. He killed the last of the Devourers for the protection of Ninjago but got bitten in the process (the bite is treatable in this au because no angst! {Or very little at least}). He's in the first realm getting treated by other Oni (they're not evil like in the series but they aren't particularly good either. They look after their own and the Omega is fond of both him and Lloyd. He's super tsundere when confronted about Lloyd but he would high-key die for him. Same for Firstborne). Anyway, enough talking for now. I haven't slept yet... Weeb out!
