Rosekiller Headcanons Pt. 2
Part 1
These may be out of order or be repeating from pt 1 but it’s only cuz I got excited…
Annnyyyyywayyyyy…. HERE WE GO!!
* Barty would be that type of person to have a thought process along the lines of “Evan deserves someone better than [insert name of whoever Evan is currently dating here]. If it were me dating him, I’d treat him much better.”
* And then he would proceed to not think on that any harder.
* Every time Barty gets an angry owl from his dad, he gets so overwhelmed by anger to the point being called by their name makes him want to scream. So all his friends start calling him "idiot" "pretty boy" "raccoon" "dumbass" respectivly until he calms down.
* lets not get it twisted, evan was 100% crazier than barty.
* Before they got together Barty would beg Pandora to make flower crowns so he could give them to Evan. If the flower crowns were from anyone else Evan would burn them on the spot. But anything from Barty he cherished forever.
* The second barty would come bounding up the hill towards him in spring, flower crown in hand, Evan would smile gently as Barty placed it on his head with such pride and joy.
* After they got together, Barty made Panda teach him how to make them so he could do it himself.
* Evan spends half his time saying "shut the fuck up" to Barty because weird stupid shit always falls out of his mouth
* (and he does shut up 'cause that man is whipped)
* Barty always forgoes pockets for the sake of fashion, and so Evan’s pockets are always full of random things of Barty’s that Barty can’t carry in his hands
* Barty is a mommas boy ™️
* Barty was shorter than Evan for the longest time but in 3rd year he had a growth spurt in the summer and was towering over Evan when they saw each other on the train.
* Barty would talk to his mother about anything and everything and he mostly spoke of Evan.
* Barty’s mom had a beautiful garden and Barty asked her if she could teach him to plant roses one summer.
* When Evan came over the next summer Barty was so proud to show him the roses he grew just for him.
* barty whose eyes are locked on Evan’s throat, he wants to leave his marks all over there, bite the soft and perfect looking skin, make it his home
* then he gets hit over the head by dorcas with a pan, and she tells him to be normal
* Barty always found it real hot when Evan gets pissed and bangs someone’s head into a wall until their blood is running down their face. He loved it when Evan was insane.
* (Evan is more crazy than Barty is. Period. You can’t convince me otherwise.)
* Regulus never understood why Evan and Barty were so deranged sometimes. He’s a good child.🥲
* evan's last thought before being hit by moody's bombarda was the way barty smiles between their kisses
* Barty would always absentmindedly play with Evan’s hair at all times
* Whenever they would go out in the winter, Evan would always tell Barty to bring a coat, even though he knows he will end up carrying it for Barty because coats make him feel trapped sometimes.
* He would just be like: "wear a jacket, it's cold out!”
* And Barty would be like: ”uggghhhhh fineeeee!!!”
* Barty always opened the door for Evan or pulled his seat out before he sat down
* Evan: did you eat today?🤨
Barty: yes….👀
Evan:
Barty:
Evan: eat something love.😘
Barty:
Barty: fine.😒
* Barty wants so bad to be Evan’s trophy wife lol
* After Barty proposed, he would daydream of the moment he first sees Evan at the altar. Like. He’s so in love guys.
* barty absolutely LOVES valentine’s day and uses it as an excuse to be as publicly sexual as possible, loudly flirtatious, and is wrapped around evan like a condom
* evan pretends to DESPISE valentine’s day, acting like he forgets about the occasion just to get on Barty’s nerves- dodging his attempts to flirt / touch, and makes a show to be as unromantic as possible. on the inside, he’s squealing and kicking his feet
* Even hated Barty at first they would argue sooooo much!!!
* But then Barty grew on him like he does with every one
* Evan loves making Barty cry during sex. Especially if he is overstimulated.
* Evan loooovvvveeeessss overstimulating Barty during sex. (Barty loves it too btw lol)
* Ives said it before and I will say it again because it need to be a thing. EVAN IS NOT NOT TIMID AND HESITANT!!!! HE IS A PHYCO!!!! HE IS WORSE THAN BARTY GUYS!!! LIKE COME ON!!!!! IK I SAID THAT THE FIST TIMEHE AND BARTY DANCED HE WAS INSECURE BUT THEY WERE REALLY YOUNG AROUND THAT TIME!!! LIKE 14!!! (At least in my head…) AFTER THAT INE TOME HE WAS SOOOOO CONFIDENT!!!
* (sorry for yelling lol)
* Any way….
* if you don’t think regulus had a little sign with the amount of times barty got pushed off the beds for being a little shit ur so wrong
* Barty‘s mother had a huge family estate in the countryside that Barty’s mother and he would go and live in during the summer. it’s also where her garden is. Barty would drag Evan along every time
* Barty’s dad lived in the city because of his job…
* Barty would mostly stay at his father’s, his mom wasn’t really mentally there sometimes. He would really only be able to stay with her a week at most before having to go back to his dad again till she got better again. Probably like 3 weeks at least….
* They announced their relationship on April Fools and were both laughing their ass off watching Hogwarts try to figure out if they were actually dating or not.
* Evan is really shitty about being woken up. like if he falls asleep on the couch just leave him there, don’t wake him up to try and get him to go to bed because he will bite your head off. When Barty finds him on the couch in the common room he will settle down and cuddle up next to him and read a book. Or take a nap with him lol. Depends

Hey champ. I’ve been reading your fics since you started posting Sweet Desires on Quotev, you might even remember me from your comments, although I’ve changed usernames multiple times. Your stories are always incredible, you get me addicted every single time. Anyways, I would like to ask you how was MC and Marrav as kids? Like when they first met as young kids, and then when they married in their pre teen (?) years.
Pardon if this is a bother, though. Thanks for the attention, mate.
Ahhhhhhh💕 really from Sweet desires, my early fumbling days.
I'm so glad you've stuck around to see me do more
MARRAV
Tumblr media
Honestly there is no history of anything wrong going on between them it's all Marrav's fault
M/N and Marrav were bethroted to each other when the omega was four and the prince was eight.
Marrav's father, the late Emperor was the one who picked out the h/c pup specially for his son, telling Marrav to watch and take good care of him and for a while the young pup did.
He saw his young fiance as weak and fragile so he took it upon himself to make sure well taken care of and eating properly.
Young Marrav made sure M/N had the best, made sure the servants treated him properly and met his every need.
After all his husband only deserved the very best.
The first two years were honestly fluff filled.
These caring moments are the ones the d/c man still hold on to dearly.
When Marrav turned eleven his attitude started to change.
The kind caring pup was gone and in it's place was a young brash rude alpha that had suddenly developed a god complex.
This Marrav absolutely detest the thought of M/N being his future mate.
How can he, a strong powerful prodigy that has talent and strength be paired up with a scrawny good for nothing omega ?!
What had his father been thinking ?!
He tries to push away the h/c pup away from him, not wanting to do anything with him.
What changed this sweet boy that formerly would do absolutely anything for his future husband was noting his over growing ego.
People have always been praising him because of his imperial blood and being recognized as being a genius, but it hadn't really changed his innocent childlike mind set ( he had been a little arrogant before but nothing too bad ) but then people started saying he was too good for something like M/N.
The people would praise his strength and then say that something like M/N who couldn't even cast any single månå spell didn't deserve to be his future husband.
And after hearing this so much he started to believe them and his mother's pampering just makes this attitude worse.
The empress Evangeline absolutely hates the thought of her precious little pup having to marry that little devil's container.
And she makes it known with how she's constantly fighting with her sickly husband to get him to change his mind and with how horribly she treats the h/c boy.
 Marrav is a momma's boy and since his mother refuses for M/N to be the person to carry the next generation of Vermillion heirs, then he  doesn't want him too.
But nothing they do will make the Emperor change his mind.
So Marrav gets creative.
If he can't get his father to listen then he'll make M/N leave.
So from then on his treatment becomes worse.
From insulting to publicly disgracing the poor pup to even going as far as hitting him in some times to get him to leave him alone.
But no matter what he does M/N doesn't ever complain or leave him alone. It's almost as if the s/c pup has been brain washed to not find any fault in anything he does.
If Marrav yells at him he doesn't cry.
If he makes fun of him he takes it quietly.
If he pushes him down to the ground he just gets up and dusts himself even if he scrapes his hands and knees.
He hates hearing his name come out of that ' things ' mouth so he bans the other from saying it.
" Of course your majesty , if that's what makes you happy then I'll do it "
The young pup says giving him an innocent smile.
A smile that Marrav has now grown to hate.
When Marrav turns fourteen his father dies and he's set to inherit the throne.
That's if he marries M/N.
If he doesn't the throne will be passed to either one of his younger brothers or cousin.
This is the turning point for Marrav.
Being forced to marry who in his mind is a good for nothing useless bug that will bring nothing but shame to his family name solidifies the already massive hate he has for the innocent omega.
The marriage ceremony between the two is bleak, colourless and depressing.
Once the vows are said Marrav doesn't move to kiss the M/N, he just stared at him with venom and hate before walking out of the hall.
Once the marriage has been concluded the dark haired alpha has M/N shipped off to the small dingy mansion at the edge of the imperial palace grounds.
How he treats him from then on is very well known by now.
But M/N at least this version of him doesn't see any fault in Marrav's attitude so he blames himself and goes through extreme length to get his husband to notice him.
Doing all the kingdoms paperwork, striking deals with neighbouring country's, listening to the former Empress every word and over all just over exerting himself to make Marrav happy and notice him for even just a second.
He misses the warm look and sweet smile that the alpha used to give him when they were younger.
He misses all the care  the dark haired man used to have for him.
It hurts him so much how drastically his love has changed.
All those happy moments.
He'll do anything to get that back, even if it means sacrificing himself and we'll being to achieve it.

Vladimir Makarov - Maternal Uncle, Mentor (unknown)
Nikolay "Kolya" Zakhaev - Brother (alive)

Affiliates:
KONNI GROUP, ULTRANATIONALISTS, SSO (formerly)
Nikolaj and Nikita Zakhaev were born through the extramarital affair of Viktor Zakhaev and Oksana Makarova, the older sister of Konni Group commander and ultranationalist leader Vladimir Makarov in 2005. Although their legitimacy was a point of contention through the family, Viktor's involvement with their childhood was somewhat minimal, leaving their uncle as their father figure and influence.
Oksana didn't want her children to follow in the family business, but hoped that they'd have a place in the new world order her younger brother aspired to create out of the ashes of the western world.
Both boys attended relatively good schools and lived their lives publicly under the "Makarov" surname, only dropping it when they were old enough to join the movement, and have their legitimacy acknowledged by their grandfather before his death in his will.
Both Kita and Kolya received informal training under their uncle and their family friend, Yuri. It was Kolya who was the more "naturally talented" and gifted of the two. Makarov encouraged Kolya to nurture his sadistic and ruthless tendencies, and had Nikita keep his more fragile brother's mind from breaking.
When working together, they are a threat almost equivalent to Makarov himself, perfect extensions of his power in the form of two young lieutenants. Should anything happen to him, they will carry on what he started.
Kita was a troublemaker and heartbreaker in his youth, popular amongst his peers and always involving his more introverted and sensitive twin. He was a massive momma's boy and will lash out at anyone speaking ill will of her- even his own father and stepmother.
He enjoyed sneaking vapes and cigarettes and skating when he was younger, with his favorite game being Sonic growing up, often fighting with Kolya over who got to play next.
Everything this young charlatan does is with a grin and a wit, ale to coax answers out of someone without the other even knowing (in comparison to Kolya, who prefers the direct approach of "torture until they talk.)
All in all he fears one day he will lose Kolya to the whims of Perseus and their uncle's plans- whatever it may be...

Round L1, Poll #33
Remember, the winner of this poll will move on, and the loser will be revealed!
Character 125: Zeus if he was an evil theater kid. He takes pains to cultivate an image as unstoppable force of destruction because the more people fear him the more powerful he gets. Turns into a dragon at one point.
Character 257: He's a petty criminal with a strong distaste for most forms of authority (with good reason; there's someone powerful out to get him and his family) and who is fully prepared to use drastic means if necessary to achieve his goals. His main goals, though, are just to love and keep safe the handful of people he really deeply cares for, and often enough those that they care for as well. In his mid-teens he left home to chase down a missing family member, with hardly anything in the way of leads, and ended up spending some time wasting other people's money on the purchase of information that ultimately did him little good. He's a momma's boy. For a brief time he was a clown. He's a constant provider of nicknames to people disinclined to appreciate it--then again, annoyance is what he's going for. He's a people person and loves attention, but can be afraid of it too, especially when it comes from a crowd; in the long term being in the public eye is not for him. He's brash and tends to mess up in the things he says; he's a handful and has admitted as much out loud. He's publicly insulted the love of his life (it was mutual). He's a fool for love and isn't put off by the death threats. He's participated in a scam engagement to help his crush inflate their fame. He doesn't know deeply, or necessarily even like, everyone in his friend group, but to those he does care for, he's the furthest thing from a fair-weather friend, and pushes back against their self-doubt and self-destructive tendencies. He's multilingual, from two different cities, and a child of immigrants. He tries to keep much of his identity out of the light, and he has supernatural power that is thematically tied to that. He has a particular hat he's quite fond of; he has big brownish eyes and he gets mocked for his height.

The Infamous Jenny Vulture Interview
So, I keep losing access to the infamous Jenny Vulture interview from March 2017 because of caps on access they have on their website. So, in case anyone else hits the same problem, I'm cut and pasting it here, to have an easier to access copy of it.
The Year of Living Publicly
Jenny Slate’s got two new films and a new home and, oh, by the way, she’s fresh off a breakup with Captain America.
By Jasa Yuan
Published March 2017
Most pillows are just pillows, but for Jenny Slate, the floral-print puffs arrayed on her pristine white linen couch in her freshly rented apartment in L.A.’s Silver Lake are metaphors. For a bright future. For a new life. For freedom. The Obvious Child star and her bichon frise, Reggie, just moved into this sunny one-bedroom in February, and every time she looks at those pillows, she gets so excited because she remembers how she’d bought them while still married to editor-director Dean Fleischer-Camp, her husband for three years, but had to stow them away because she realized it felt like they were living in a box of tampons. Now she and Reggie don’t have to run their decorating decisions by anyone. “I’ve never lived on my own, because I really did go from one relationship to another my whole life, so I’ve never had a chance to go really girlie,” she says. “And I had my ex-husband over last night and he was like, ‘These flower pillows look great. But they’re just for you.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah! That’s right!’ I love them so much. I just love them for what they represent, which is that all my choices are for me.” She turns around. “I’m gonna pee really quick.”
The bathroom door doesn’t quite close — she’d warned me of this. “You can snoop around if you want,” she shouts. “It’s just a little mouse house. It’s fucking perfect for me.”
I have been in her presence for about two minutes. The first thing she did was offer to loan me a T-shirt because I mentioned I was hot. Slate used to do a stand-up routine about how her mom refused to sew her name into her shirt in elementary school, “because she was like, ‘You’re too friendly, and some stranger would just be like, Jenny! Come into the van!’ ”
There’s an obvious person missing so far from this tale of pillows versus patriarchy, but she’s not hiding anything; we just haven’t gotten to it yet. “When I moved in here, I’d been through my divorce and a breakup,” she says, returning from the bathroom and referring to the ten or so months she spent dating Chris Evans, best known as Captain America, and her much more famous co-star in Gifted an upcoming film about a family struggling with a young girl’s genius affinity for math. The internet went wild over their apples-and-oranges compatibility: a brash Jewish comedienne beloved for oversharing about her bodily functions on talk shows and voicing Marcel the Shell With Shoes On, a tiny stop-motion conch with a single eye and feet who talks about being so small he can hang-glide on a Dorito, in a series of YouTube shorts she made with Fleischer-Camp — and a world-famous Marvel superhero, who also happens to be a Massachusetts momma’s boy with one of the most insanely ripped bodies on the planet. “We used to talk about what kinds of animals we were,” says Slate. “Chris said it’s like I’m a chick riding on a St. Bernard’s head. We’re an odd match.”
Paparazzi tried to snap them, bloggers scrutinized their Instagrams, tabloids obsessively covered their one appearance together on a red carpet. Slate didn’t read the coverage, but it was extremely kind, with most articles praising Slate for taking a chance on Evans, or noting that his coolness factor had jumped several notches because of his proximity to her. Maybe this crazy thing could work out! There was something beautiful, in a year marked by division, to think of these two opposites finding common ground. He was 35; she was 34. They’d grown up half an hour from each other. They were both outspoken liberals. They’d said really adorable things about each other on Anna Faris’s podcast.
And then, a few weeks before I met Slate, news broke that it was over. In her life, though, she’d already spent several months dealing with that loss and having to find a place to live, crashing with friends in Venice Beach in January. “I watched You’ve Got Mail so many times, it was unbelievable,” she says. Was she weeping most of the time? “Yeah, I did it right.” Eventually, she found this new apartment and purged everything she owned except for a few clothes she loves, books, precious objects, and a velvet chair once belonging to her great-grandmother. “I was like, ‘You need all new things. You are a working woman. Maybe this is an indulgence, but just start over,’ ” she says. “It’s like, Fuck.”
The other night, she tells me, she was sitting at a bar by herself, reading a book about the Holocaust, and finally sent an SOS text to her friend Mae Whitman. “I was just like, ‘Can you please help me? I’m so lonely.’ And she came and we got shitbombed, and I woke up the next morning and saw my headphones on my neighbor’s yard. I have no idea how they ended up there.”
As Slate gives me the tour of her place, Reggie trails her every move. “He’s like a little soul mirror of me. We’re a lot the same,” she says. How so? “Needing closeness. Despair when left alone. But also he’s very excited to misbehave when left alone. So he doesn’t know what he wants.”
Ever since she was a pip-squeak at Camp Tapawingo in Sweden, Maine, Slate has known what she wanted to be: an actress, like Amy Irving or Gilda Radner or Madeline Kahn. That or “Jewish Felicity,” taking over Manhattan, like in the TV show. In the aughts, she came up in the alternative-stand-up-comedy scene in New York, where she garnered attention for a one-woman show as different characters eulogizing an eccentric millionaire, got cast on Saturday Night Live, and wasfired one season in after accidentally cursing on-air in her first sketch. That ego blow hurt a little less when she made the awards-circuit rounds for Obvious Child, a low-budget romantic comedy about two people navigating an abortion after a one-night stand, and she’s built a devoted fan base through her outrageous characters on the Kroll Show and Parks and Recreation, not to mention her great voice work with Marcel, Bob’s Burgers, The Secret Life of Pets (as an anxious Pomeranian), and Zootopia (as a villainous sheep). In 2012, she relocated from Brooklyn to L.A. Her relationship with Evans is easily the most Hollywood thing she’s ever done. She shows me a photo of her aura on her fridge, taken in New York’s Chinatown. There’s a thick concentration of “productive energy,” which is good, since she has a lot of work coming up, and a giant cloud of worry and overthinking, which seems to be dissipating. By the sink are potholders she made as a kid on a little loom and a drawing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg that Fleischer-Camp brought her as a housewarming gift. “We’re good friends. That’s why we got divorced,” says Slate. “If we didn’t get divorced, we wouldn’t be able to be friends and we wouldn’t be able to do our work. We had just grown apart, and we love each other. It wasn’t easy, but not bad.” She pauses. “No, it was bad. But not essentially bad.”
Her mother, a ceramicist, and father, a lauded poet, are still married; she wrote a book about her childhood home in Massachusetts with her dad this year. Her younger sister, Stacey, a mental-health counselor in Brooklyn, had come over on the previous weekend and helped her put up pictures. (Her elder sister, Abby, is a nurse-practitioner in Massachusetts, and Slate is convinced her middle-child need for attention is what nudged her toward showbiz.) Covering the top of her dresser are snapshots she hasn’t figured out what to do with, such as the one of her in a revealing tank top at Columbia University, where she went from high-school valedictorian to pothead almost instantly. “This is me when I was a slutty virgin,” she explains. “A virgin but trying to act like I knew what was going on.”
Somewhere beneath a pile of half-read books is her bedside table. She hates computers so much she doesn’t keep one in the house, and she often turns to books when scrolling through Twitter on her phone stresses her out, which it always does. Current favorites include The Collected Stories of Lydia Davis, Viktor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning, and Emma, a children’s book with Barbara Cooney illustrations that she bought on Etsy and loves so much she put it on display so she could see it when she wakes up. “It’s about an old woman who doesn’t love how she’s alone, and then learns to make herself not alone through art, and draws people into her life through art. It’s the fucking best thing.”
The instinct other young actresses have to keep every interesting thing about themselves under wraps — or the toughness that female comics often give off — wouldn’t be very useful in Slate’s case. Her brand, if you can call it that, is built on vulnerability, whether she’s revealing her innermost insecurities through an animated shell or telling Seth Meyers on TV that she was so stoned in college she accidentally signed up for an astronomy class thinking she’d learn about astrology. Not to mention that she and Evans met while playing love interests in a movie that is now coming out and that she needs to promote. That’s hard to get around.
“I don’t mind talking about him at all. He’s a lovely person,” she says. “I don’t know. It feels like such a huge thing. Last year was a giant, big year for my heart. I’ve never, ever thought to keep anything private because that’s not really what I’m like, and now I’m learning those things, and they’re weird, kind of demented lessons to learn.”
She didn’t set out to have a tabloid-fodder romance. She’d fought hard for her part in Gifted, as a teacher who falls for Evans’s character, a working-class guy trying to give his prodigy niece (Mckenna Grace) a normal childhood. Slate’s part is not huge, but it’s a big studio picture. It got her in the room with director Marc Webb and Fox Searchlight. She liked the script, but more than that, “I was just like, ‘I want viability as an American film actress. I want to find my own seat at the main dinner table, because I want to do this forever, and I want to show that it doesn’t always have to be a bikini model opposite Captain America.’ ”
Evans and Slate met at her chemistry read — the audition in which it’s determined whether two romantic leads play well together — and they instantly got along. “I remember him saying to me, ‘You’re going to be one of my closest friends.’ I was just like, ‘Man, I fucking hope this isn’t a lie, because I’m going to be devastated if this guy isn’t my friend.’ ” The first time they went out to dinner, as co-workers getting to know each other, she remembers insisting they split the bill over Evans’s strenuous objections. “If you take away my preferences, you take away my freedom,” she says she told him. “Then I was like, Oh, man, is this dude going to be like, ‘Ugh, this bra-burner.’ Instead, he was like, ‘Tell me more.’ ” They drew from that friendship for their flirting on film, but the time when they jump into bed together in the movie felt as awkward as you hear all love scenes do. “It’s one of those scenes where you bust through a door making out. I’ve never done that in my life,” says Slate. “I remember apologizing to him after. I’m pretty sure I kneed him in the balls.”
Slate was in a weird space at the time. Her marriage was dissolving, and she was working only two or three days a week, and spending her days off wandering around Savannah’s many parks and doing yoga and writing that book, About the House, with her dad. (Which, incidentally, the publisher gave away free with any donation to any charity.) Every weekend, Evans would organize a game night for the cast and crew — usually something called “running charades,” which sounds like high-speed pantomime — that she begrudgingly went to, even though all she wanted to do was hang out on the porch and drink beer and smoke cigarettes. “At first I was like, ‘What a fucking nightmare,’ ” she says. “Chris is a different speed than me — I think he really did just jump out of a plane for an interview. And so when he was like, ‘Game nights,’ I was like, ‘This is annoying. This guy’s like a sports guy. He’s the kid that likes P.E.’ ” But finally his enthusiasm won her over. “I first really liked Chris as a person because he is so unpretentious,” she says. “He is a straight-up 35-year-old man who wants to play games. That’s it. I was like, ‘I’d better not discount this, because this is purity.’ ” It also helped that she’s so competitive she constantly won.
As they got to know each other, she learned he’s still close with people from his childhood, and his best friend is a woman. “What’s the same about us is not just that we’re from Massachusetts, which was such a delight, but Chris is truly one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, to the point where sometimes I would look at him and it would kind of break my heart,” she says. “He’s really vulnerable, and he’s really straightforward. He’s like primary colors. He has beautiful, big, strong emotions, and he’s really sure of them. It’s just wonderful to be around. His heart is probably golden-colored, if you could paint it.”
They didn’t fall for each other on set. “To be quite honest, I didn’t think I was his type,” she says. (Evans has dated Jessica Biel and Minka Kelly). “Eventually, when it was like, Oh, you have these feelings for me?, I was looking around like, Is this a prank? I mean, I understand why I think I’m beautiful, but if you’ve had a certain lifestyle and I’m a very, very different type of person — I don’t want to be an experiment.” Evans never made her feel that way, but it was hard to get past how so many people seemed to feel some ownership of him and view her as an interloper. “If you are a woman who really cares about her freedom, her rights, her sense of being an individual, it is confusing to go out with one of the most objectified people in the entire world,” she says. Especially when she’s aware that in Hollywood, she says, “I’m considered some sort of alternative option, even though I know I’m a majorly vibrant sexual being.” And especially when random ladies would come up to her at CVS, “being like, ‘Oh my God, is that Chris Evans? He’s so hot!’ You’re like, ‘How dare you? That’s my boyfriend. But yes, he’s so hot.’ ”
Every time Slate mentions Evans, it keeps coming back to the same thing: As much as they loved being with one another, she says, “we’re really, really different,” with different social circles and different lifestyles. Slate comes from a DIY comedy scene, and most of her friends are fellow comics and gay guys. “Chris is a very, very famous person,” she says. “For him to go to a restaurant is totally different than for me to go. I sit in my window and I say ‘Hi’ to people on the street. I have more freedom because I’m not Captain America. I’m mostly a cartoon.” She kept waiting for everything to feel normal, but it never did. “This is what I needed to do to feel normal. To be alone.”
That meant day-to-day they mostly stayed home, “which was really nice,” she says. But it was also one of the most anxious years of her life. She fretted over the “psychos” on the internet who turned her relationship with Evans into a pissing contest with Fleischer-Camp. And she struggled seeing the person she was in love with deal with the side-effects of fame. “The stress that I saw him be put under, I’ve never seen that before, and he handled that really gracefully,” she says. What she wasn’t taking into account was that he’s used to it. “He’s not stressed,” she says. “I was the person that was stressed.”
She’s also aware in hindsight that she hadn’t processed her separation before she got together with Evans. It wasn’t as scandalous as tabloid reports made it sound — as with any long-term relationship that splinters, they’d been on the rocks long before it was official. But, she says, “When Chris and I started dating, my husband and I had only been separated for a couple of months.” The divorce actually went through while she was at the Sundance Film Festival, after she and Evans broke up. “Even though we had an amicable divorce, I think that’s still something that you need to mourn. When you get separated from somebody that you actually care about, it is the destruction of a belief system. That is really, really sad.” Throughout all of it, the divorce, the new love, she says, “I just didn’t have the tools. And I didn’t think very hard about that, to be honest. I wanted to step into the light. Chris is a sunny, loving, really fun person, and I didn’t really understand why I should be prudent.”
Are she and Evans on good terms? “We’re not on bad terms, but we haven’t really seen each other, spoken a lot,” she says. “I think it’s probably best. I’d love to be his friend one day, but we threw down pretty hard. No regrets, though. Ever.”
Slate introduces me to the mascots of her new home, two cute mice figurines in jaunty outfits who look like they’re off to travel the world. “The way I feel now is I’ve stepped out of the woods and I’m a forest animal and I’m standing on the lawn,” she says. “And if anybody tried to approach me right now, they’re seeing a creature that’s just trying to figure out what the lawn is like. All I’m thinking about is the lawn. I’m not thinking about whether or not they are going to be a fun person to be on the lawn with, because I am just trying to be on the lawn.” And what or where is this lawn? “It’s just where I am,” she says. “I like the lawn. It’s filled with air, freedom, sunlight, and I’m alone.”
Slate wants to step out in the sunlight now, with a walk around the Silver Lake Reservoir. She bids good-bye to Reggie and turns on the TV to keep him company. “I watch Twin Peaks, but Reggie watches Frasier,” she says. That morning, while Slate was walking him, a woman got out of her car and stopped in her tracks. “She was like, ‘Oh, are you Jenny Slate?’ And I said, ‘I am.’ And she said something nice to me and I said, ‘Thank you so much. I need a lot of encouragement,’ which is usually what I say because it’s true.”
Dating Evans actually, weirdly, spurred her to double down on her career, because, she says, “I don’t want people to ask me more about my love life because of him than they ask me about my work,” and in order to ensure that, she’d have to produce a lot of work. She does stand-up in small clubs whenever possible and had two films at Sundance this January, just as the paperwork for her divorce came through: The Polka King, the true story of a polka-world Ponzi scheme, opposite Jack Black; and Landline, a story of two Jewish-Italian sisters and their parents having life and love crises in ’90s New York City, with Obvious Child creators Gillian Robespierre and Elisabeth Holm (out July 21). Soon she’ll be heading to Vancouver for a road-trip movie with Evan Rachel Wood, Alison Pill, and Cynthia Erivo, which is also Wood’s directorial debut. She and Fleischer-Camp are also at work on a feature-length Marcel the Shell movie, which she says will be “a character portrait much like Billy the Kid or Grey Gardens.”
Today, she’s leaning in to International Women’s Day by wearing a sundress covered in red roses and made by a company, Day Space Night, that’s run by women. She even canceled her one meeting with a man, an appearance on Snoop Dogg’s podcast, so she could have an entirely penis-free day. And she’s planning on ending the day by going with her girlfriends to a 90-minute seminar on fertility and reproductive rights.
A vocal supporter of Planned Parenthood, Slate credits Obvious Child not just for allowing her to prove she’s a legitimate actress, but also for turning her into a women’s rights activist. Back when she signed on, she says, “I still felt embarrassed of the word feminist.” Then one day discussing a costume fitting with co-star Gaby Hoffmann, Slate jokingly apologized for showing up with “crazy bush,” she says. “And Gaby did not take it as a joke. She was really serious and she looked at me and she was like, ‘I didn’t know we were supposed to apologize for that.’ I was like, Oh, I’m being a fool. I need to learn this shit right now.”
And now that she’s got a financial cushion from Zootopia and Secret Life of Pets, she can act on what she’s learned and say “no” more often. Specifically, she’s drawing the line at any movie that, she says, “makes it okay to laugh about things like women’s bodies after birth, like when women who’ve just had babies are referring to their vaginas as all ruined. I think it’s really rude for someone to disparage a vagina in the female body after it’s just fucking created and exploded a baby into our world. It makes me furious and I will not change my opinion on that.”
Also a no-go are any roles she’s offered that “seem like a weird stereotype version of me. Like Quirky Best Friend: ‘She doesn’t have a filter! She talks about poop!’ ” She thinks it’s worth it to hold out for roles with nuance, that will allow her to lean into humor and tragedy equally, and get to the heart of the human condition. In the meantime, she has plenty of personal-growth goals. She wants to learn Norwegian this summer. She wants to spend time with her family on Martha’s Vineyard. And she wants to find a farm she can help on so she can be around animals.
Eventually, she’ll try dating again, too. “I am inclined toward partnership,” she says. “I’m like a mallard, definitely looking for my other duck. But I’ve been in love in very strong ways enough times now that there are just some compromises maybe I won’t make.” He has to know who Gloria Steinem is, for one thing. She’s thinking maybe a scientist with a sense of humor. But definitely someone who’s sure enough in who he is to accept that she’s had a past without him. “Whoever is the next person is going to have to respect that I had a husband who I loved and this boyfriend who I loved so much, and I don’t want to have to act like they weren’t important.”
We’re back at the apartment and Slate is overjoyed that Reggie hasn’t peed on anything. Speaking of pasts, she’ll also soon be hitting the press tour for Gifted with Evans. “I feel pretty relaxed about it right now,” she says, sounding not entirely convincing. “That’s because I know Chris and he’s a very nice man. And we’ve gone into our separate lives. But that doesn’t also mean that I’m going to sleep well the night before, you know?”
First, she’s taking her parents to Cabo San Lucas to celebrate her 35th birthday. I suddenly have a horror flashback to a similar trip to Cabo I took years ago and warn her not to drink the water or brush her teeth with it, or to have ice or eat anything raw, or maybe to eat anything at all.
“Oh God,” she says, laughing, “having raging diarrhea is just a real on-brand nightmare for me.”
She thinks for a second. “But, you know, it would be such an icebreaker. If I showed up with, like, a spray tan and a blowout, he’d be like, ‘What happened to Jenny?’ But if I was able to say, ‘Aw, man, I have diarrhea,’ he’d be like, ‘It’s you. I remember you.’ ”

𝐓𝐑𝐂𝐊𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓 :
— genuinely one of the longest posts I have ever posted.
A brief note that every single one of my muses has a half-blood verse and a daemon verse that I am always excited to use !
˖ ࣪⭑ . . . Marvel
May Parker's home for injured vigilantes. Head emergency room nurse May who, after realising her nephew is a vigilante adopts a ' as long as you do it under my roof so I can make sure you're safe ' policy, starts having other heroes dropped on her fire escape to patch up. Also, her cancer storyline would be epic to write.
Uncle Ben who lives and loses his arm in the shooting but is around enough to help Peter when he needs it, keep him good and moral without having to die to make sure it happens, makes space so Peter can fix up his suit whilst he works late in the garage.
Peter realises he is very genuinely the lamest Spider-Man in every universe. He has no special talents, cannot do ballet, annoys the fuck out of Miguel and burned all bridges with the billionaire he knew post accords.
Make Matt use his senses, and explore the world around him with them. Very rarely does he get the chance to just sit with them ; during the day he has to act like a regular blind person, and as Daredevil it's all about adrenaline and moving fast. Also, I am a sucker for one-night stand threads with him, because he is a player until he gets his person.
Frank being forced to be soft and gentle with your muse and taking care of them when they're hurt is super important to me however, I also adore the threads where the Punisher just gets to be insane and talented with his weapons in a fight.
Dadpool taking care of his daughter and being responsible and careful and still insane. Wade breaking into the spiderverse and being the fucking worst. Deadpool meets deities when he's waiting for Lady Death to send him back post-mortem.
Someone being kind to Vanessa, treating her gently and asking to see her skin, not the disguise that Copycat and Xavier thought up together for her to wear.
Slice of life in the Hellhouse stuff ! People are confronted with the reality of what Weasel goes through in a day of getting mercenaries weapons and jobs. Weasel vs Spider-Man stuff where he finally gets to confront Peter Parker.
I'd be really into a thread where Hawkeye is forced to drop his dumb guy act and people are reminded that he is a highly competent spy and archer with abilities beyond what is publicly known.
College years Rhodey being the exhausted roommate of one Anthony Stark. Rhodey mourning his sister. Rhodey learning to be a good uncle and primary carer to his niece Lila.
Let Happy Hogan date one of his bosses, boy has never met an authority figure he didn't fall immediately and deeply in love with.
Despite raising his two sons, Vision finally finds people that help him understand and find respite from how alone he so often feels.
After the death of his momma, Harley Keener who is raising his baby sister and selling his inventions on the black market, all while running his family farm alone is suddenly confronted with being moved out to New York for college and someone stepping up to help him finally.
Johnny Storm makes a good, reliable friend who finally helps him shake that horrific loneliness he is constantly plagued with, helps him deal with the trauma and addiction and also is just good at making sure the trouble he gets into is lighthearted.
After being stranded on a planet ( very possibly earth ) Nebula very quickly grows a beautiful and extravagant nursery of plants and tries to ignore how she doesn't really fit in anywhere.
Very tired, very grumpy, teacher Wolverine who honestly doesn’t want to be there but also doesn’t want the grief he’d get from his coworkers if he tried to quit the academy.
Bubbly, over-excited teacher, Kid Omega, who’s on strict probation because of the whole trying to start riots thing, but still won't stop talking to the kids about why policing minorities is a problem.
˖ ࣪⭑ . . . Mythology
Biblical Mythology
Famously irresponsible Gabriel being the last eligible angel left to take on the role of leader of Heaven, them being forced to go back despite the last time they were there being the day they fled after losing their wife and children in the war. Them having to take care of something even when it's hard.
Imprisoned Uriel having visitors in any form, maybe souls who escaped their Heavens or other angels sneaking in or ! Her escaping and being taken in by the people who find her on earth, being confused and gullible.
Tired of endlessly partying and fighting, Balthazaar finds offers up his services as an archivist for the hunters instead, documenting everything he can remember about Heaven no matter how painful.
Greek Mythology
Ares takes care of something on earth and falls completely in love with a mortal, finding them so beautiful and hiding them away so Aphrodite has no chance of finding them and becoming jealous, living as much of their life with them as he possibly could — going so far as to abandon all of his duties to stay by their side.
Any and all interactions with the other Gods. Persephone who is seen as a child far too often for her liking, instead of the incredibly powerful and dramatic Goddess that she is, proving everyone wrong and being part of the solution.
The other strategic and intelligent Gods taught Phobos about wisdom and war when he was young and him looking up to them and crushing on them for the whole of his life.
After being cursed by the fates for spreading dread to the entire human population instead of just soldiers as he was meant to, I think it would be really cool to do a thread where Deimos first starts losing his mind and gaining his incredibly difficult-to-deal-with amounts of empathy and is found doing not-so-great by another muse.
˖ ࣪⭑ . . . Literature
The Shadowhunter Chronicles
No longer a vampire and only newly a shadowhunter, Simon struggles to find places where he fits in because neither group is warm to him ; the downworlders not trusting him anymore, and the shadowhunters not trusting him yet.
University professor Ragnor Fell being manic and obsessed with how intelligent his students are and unable to stop talking about it to his friends, whether he's working at a mundane school or at the shadowhunter academy.
Your muse opens the door to Catarina who is exhausted, with her little girl ( Madzie ) in tow, who starts her introduction with the sentence ' it has been a week and a half since I have had a conversation with someone who was not a patient in the emergency room or four, please can I come have a coffee ? '
The Riordanverse
A verse to explore what would have happened if Thalia had claimed the prophecy to spare both Percy and Nico a miserable fate once she saw how much it meant to the camp.
Dark Percy. I am desperate to explore a verse in which maybe Percy can’t save his mom and so turns his back on the gods in order to join Luke, especially once he's told about the prophecy and realises Chiron's plan had been to raise him like a lamb to slaughter.
Resurrected as a God in order to be punished for eternity, Luke is sent to Camp Half-Blood to serve his time there as a carer of the half-bloods he would have fought in the war had they been older at the time he brought Kronos back.
The Hunger Games
In a lot of the discussions I have about Cato post the end of the rebellion, I talk about the boy who is barely an adult who sits on his porch and watches the woods all day almost paralysed in fear but I want a thread where someone gets through to him and proves to him that it is worth making amends where he needs to and healing and learning to be a person with the aid of your muse.
More than anything, I want threads where someone is kind to Katniss, and in return, Katniss is kind back. After losing everything, and trying to heal over all of her grief, there is a forceful part of Katniss that wants to learn to be nice and gentle because she doesn't have to be a defence between herself and her people anymore.
˖ ࣪⭑ . . . Television
Stranger Things
Someone notices how Heather is living, how her parents don't talk about her or how she does everything for herself, way sooner. I want a thread where Heather offers support to someone and in return there is another voice ( an actual friend unlike all the people that call her a friend but really just use her for status, sex, or parties ) to fill up the silence she's usually surrounded by.
It would be super exciting to write literally any thread with Jason post-season 4 : his recovery where someone finally forces him to get out of bed and start doing his physical therapy, something during his manic period when he finally tasted freedom in college and goes a little mad with it and then comes back to Hawkins in the holidays covered in tattoos and piercings with hickeys on his neck, kind Jason who is good and worked to make amends in the town before going off to medical school and then starts working at a hospital's pediatric unit where he bumps into a familiar face from his past and their kid.
Vampire Eddie coming back to Hawkins to check on his Uncle after his reputation was saved and he was proven innocent. The government provides him money and coolers of something to make up for the abandonment he faced by them in the Upside Down. Him making it big time with Corroded Coffin. Eddie goes to the gay bar an hour and a half out of town with the handkerchief in his back pocket and runs into a familiar face.
Raised in Hawkins but having fled as soon as she could, Susan moved back with just her daughter Max as soon as she realised the type of man Neil was. She finally claims her dad’s house with the promise to herself that she would get rid of any trace of him in there. It gives her the ability to pay attention to Max the way a mom should.
The way that Benny keeps his diner open late for the truckers that bring him a lot of business, but also because Benji's diner was the only place that was open late enough for Benny to get some rest when his abusive piece of shit dad kicked him out at night, and he wants to be able to offer that respite wherever he can to whoever needs it.
Similarly, the open door policy that Wayne Munson enforces consistently for the sake of other kids like his boy Eddie and his old partner Robbie. Steve needs to escape from that big empty house ? Maxine finding it hard to sleep with her mom on the night shift ? Literally any kid who needs a safe space ? He just wants them to know they can knock on his door and sleep on the pullout sofa bed if they need a place.
Supernatural
Any and all Benny Lafitte being the lord of purgatory threads.
Bobby’s junkyard being operational and a known hunter-safe camp where he ends up being a surrogate dad for most of the time, but also finally having help with the stuff that’s a little more difficult from his chair.
The Last of Us
Maybe a verse where Joel managed to save Sarah but the two grew apart because in a world where she lives, Joel never has to angelify her. They talk and Joel helps with his grandbaby whenever he can but at the end of the day, they are both traumatised and Joel made mistakes as a dad. I want a thread where Joel still goes out to deliver Ellie, but has a reason to go home again after.
Very slowly, Bill relaxes around your muse and starts trusting that things are going to be okay at least for a while and as long as he keeps up his defences around the village. He even goes as far as to let the occasional desperate survivor stay as long as they didn't touch his supplies or arsenal and didn't pose a risk.
The Walking Dead
It would be cool to do a thread where Negan is locked under house arrest and raising Dylan as best he can, taking care of her and only occasionally seeing any other living people. Your muse drops off one of his deliveries of formula or whatever for his baby girl and Negan convinces them to stay for a while.
Any and all threads where Lori proves she is worthwhile : threads where something the kids have learned from her saves the day, threads where she is willing to risk herself to help the babies, threads where her experience as a mother helps the new mothers. Threads where she paints and helps people relax just a little by teaching them to as well.
Doctor Who
The Doctor saving everyone for once and is furious after and having to explain that the reason why is because he couldn't even do that for his own people, not even for his own husband, his own children.
Hannibal
Really really into the idea of Hannibal teaching someone to cook. No matter at what part of the verse — pre-fall, post-fall, in a beach house in another country and your muse knows him by another name — I think the idea is super fun. Whether or not your muse knows he's a cannibal, I think there's room for Hannibal to be charming and seductive and snarky.
FBI agent Jack Crawford getting to show off that he is damned good at his job, no matter what's happening with Riley or Bella, him proving that he was given his role for a reason. Also I have been obsessed with the idea since I read about it but Jack figuring out Will's confliction before it becomes obvious because he was a profiler once and a good enough one to be head of his department.
Sherlock
Any and all explorations of John's past and how it affects his present. His time as a Captain in the army makes up so much of who he is now and how he is even with his daughter Rosie, that it seems strange how little it came up in canon.
Merlin
Being captured and returned to Camelot whilst pregnant with her son, Morgana being held captive because at this point in the story, she is still seen as an easily manipulated girl who fell down the wrong path. Merlin tells her about his magic and the two of them commiserating with each other. Morgana trying to make amends.
Good dad verse where Uther loves his son more than he hates magic, he realises this when he catches Merlin saving Arthur for the first time and captures Merlin secretly. Alongside his paycheck, he gives the sorcerer books on magic that had been long since banned and in return, Merlin is to continue keeping his boy alive — as long as the magic stays a secret.
Just the general adventures of first knight Leon, him trying to decide whether magic is good or evil based on his own experiences with it rather than the fact that Uther helped raise him after his sister died.
Lord Gwaine who has to go home and claim his land and titles once his sister becomes gravely ill or else risks losing his knighthood. I so desperately want to write Gwaine as his intended, bratty self.
˖ ࣪⭑ . . . Original Characters
I think it would be cool to have Elaerea meet someone who, in a better reality, would have been a bigger part of her life such as Sansa when she spent time at the vale or Jon or Ned. Also, maybe threads between her and other Targaryens or even Bran since they both have the power of sight ( even if Elaerea's is so much less broad ).
Any threads where MJ gets to spend time with the rest of the Watson family. Any threads where he gets to interact with the spider-verse. Any future threads where we see MJ in soft domestic situations with their Spider-Man ( maybe even with their own Mayday ).
I want Edie to have friends who can help her be a normal woman who gets to do ordinary young adult things like going to bars and painting her room. Edie needs to be able to make her own choices and prove to herself that she is worth more than who her father or brother was.
Workaholic Melanoë being very gently coaxed into having fun and being reckless. Cautious Noë letting loose and fighting a jerk who tries to push her around. Counselor Noë helping your muse cope a little better after a battle.
I would be really invested in threads where people witness Mercury reading aloud and manifesting things into reality, and them surprising him by not asking anything of him once they know.
Any and all interactions where Mapone gets to talk to other legacy kids, because whilst I love and obsess over the idea of her being a brat to the older trying to help train her, I also like the idea of her making friends and getting into trouble with the others.
Candace Nelson being a general nuisance to herself and others: ditching school and ending up in trouble and needing rescuing, teaching your middle aged blorbo slang, and generally being a teenager.

⟨  alperen duymaz.  cis male.  he/him.  28.  ⟩       we welcome cemal tyrell to king’s landing , the lord of highgarden. keep an eye out for their egocentric nature, they tend to cover it up by acting debonair. rumor has it they are neutral to the peace treaty, and their loyalties lie with house tyrell. you’ll know it’s them when you get flashes of a preserved rose dipped in gold  |  feasting upon pomegranate seeds, sinking deeper into the underworld  |  standing at the center of a party, basking in the attention, a smile never falling from your lips
BASICS.
FULL NAME:   cemal tyrell. ALSO CALLED:   cem, cemal. TITLES:   lord of highgarden. AGE:   twenty-eight. GENDER:   cis male, he / him. ORIENTATION:   bisexual, biromantic.
BIRTHPLACE:   highgarden. RELIGION:   the faith of the seven ( publicly ), atheist. SPOKEN LANGUAGES:   common tongue.
STATUS:  unwed, unbetrothed. LOYALTY:   house tyrell.
PERSONALITY.
POSITIVE:   debonair. valiant. protective. fun-loving. flirtatious. NEGATIVE:   egocentric. arrogant. spiteful. obstinate. mercurial.
FAMILY.
FATHER:   aşkin tyrell ( deceased ). MOTHER:   pakize tyrell ( deceased ). SIBLINGS:   ozan tyrell ( deceased ), saadet tyrell, galip tyrell ( deceased ), emira tyrell, ferah tyrell CHILDREN:   aylin flowers ( daughter, 5 ) EXTENDED FAMILY:   kazim flowers ( nephew )
the fourth born and third son, cemal was able to find freedom growing up that might not have been available to his older siblings. he was known to run around highgarden, pulling pranks and hiding away in the gardens and mazes so no one could find him. he was definitely the cause of many headaches for his parents. however, it didn't stop cem from being a momma's boy, commonly trailing after pakize and pretending he was her sworn shield with his, at the time, wooden toy sword.
cem learned how to be more poised with age, containing his more unfavorable traits and temper behind charming smiles and polished words, a fitting image for a rose from highgarden. the result was a contrasting reputation for the third son. some believed the image he convincingly presented and spoke of the golden rose that resembled a knight from songs: handsome, charismatic, and gallant. others, however, saw glimpses of his more rotten traits, his arrogance and selfishness. the truth, like most truths, sat in the middle of both views.
spent a few years in king's landing when he was a teenager, serving as a squire for a knight of the kingsguard, a position his parents secured for him. the minute he was knighted at fifteen, a testament to his skill, cemal returned home.
he split his time between highgarden and traveling around the southern kingdom with his band of friends. occasionally he ventured further north or south, but preferred staying closer to home. cem definitely behaved more recklessly when traveling with his friends, drinking and flirting and causing some occasional trouble. but if he was ever invited into another noble's keep, he was the perfect gentleman.
cemal had always been a flirtatious man but he rarely stayed with one person for long, resulting in a string of former flings, some more public than others. one of these flings resulted in the woman falling pregnant. while cem made it clear he had no intentions of marrying her, he did try having a civil, co-parenting relationship for the sake of his daughter, aylin. however, the women ended up leaving with no warning and hasn't even written since, cementing a deep hatred within cemal toward her - not for leaving him but for abandoning their daughter.
the deaths of his brothers hit him hard. he'd always looked up to them, particularly ozran, and now they were gone. since galip's death, cemal became even more protective toward his sisters, though it didn't always show due to him spending a fair amount of time following their return home distracting himself from his sorrows by drinking and partying.

June tell me all your characters with A or J or S names!!
When I tell you I suddenly forget if any of my characters have names that start with these letters.
A Is For Argus an'Frederick Harver: It feels silly to have to explain him to you lol but for anyone who doesn't know, Argus is the youngest of 10 siblings and the legitimatized bastard of an emperor. This has all given him a bit of a complex that has bred a selfish, arrogant, hard-to-get-along-with personality and an unwillingness to change. But, lucky for him, he's beautiful and has a wonderful taste in desserts (but a horrible taste for men). At the moment I think my favorite thing about Argus is exploiting both his need to victimize himself (i.e his "no one has ever liked me in this family even when they've given me gifts and have tried to be nice to me" attitude.) as well as his ability to hold a grudge over petty slights but yet can't understand why people would do the same to him. Ashley Markell: The easiest way to describe Professor Markell is "can a 40-something man just be so sad and pathetic he resembles a Victorian Orphan?". A lover of gothic romance, cats, the history of magical creatures/monsters, and making Faustian Bargains. It's not mentioned much when I talk about Someone Will Die but Ashley does have one friend and positive connections in his life, he's just a conduit for gloom and shady characters so it's what he tends to dwell on. His romantic life is also not much to brag about but to in his defense, before his current on/off monstrous boyfriend, he didn't date much due to his dedication to being a frumpy historian and cat-dad. His estrangement from his family and the not entirely human conditions of it also never made him the most open, loving, and trusting person. Aayden Ponsonby: The soldier prince of Oskya. Now a brooding, angst-filled father of three with daddy issues of his own and under some considerable pressure due to the tensions that surround inheriting the Oskyan throne. Has a dark past as a momma's boy and has replaced that with being obsessed with his wife. Aayden has a quick temper, is publicly chaste and adverse to displays of affection, and thoroughly enjoys being a hater. Honorable Mentions: *Andrzej of the Druskeji: Mikolaj's childhood friend and ex-fling from The Night Court. By the time they meet again, he's happily married in the Ulra tradition. Loves his hunting dog, hallucinogens, and reading banned erotic books. *Adrian Gusky-Kiel: One of Justyna's younger brothers. He shows up in her story as her father's direct apprentice and a law student. *Asli: the "assassin trainer" and former mentor of Hartanti who is a fugitive and political enemy in the TSS series. *Aleksja: The daughter of Lord Wiech who suffered watching her dad be obsessed with Mikolaj. *Alexander Davies: The vampire folklore expert from another of my sad man shorts. *Arnold Stanislawski: The birthname of a certain courtesan and the alias used by another.
J Is For Justyna Gusky-Kiel: From noblemen's bastard, to courtesan, to spy, Justyna has gone through all phases of her life with grace, kindness, and a keen fashion sense. Her soft and seemingly air-headed attitude conceals a sharp wit and a big, utterly huge heart. She can play the piano, recite poetry, and discuss dense medical texts as well as philosophy. Strongly opinionated but also open-minded and forgiving, Justyna's one of those people whose shockingly done a lot and has outlandish life experiences but she's more likely to talk about her garden than brag about anything unique she's done. Like, she could tell you about the time she avoided execution by trying folk medicine and saved a king from a life-threatening injury or she can talk about how she and her son baked bread for the first time that day and that's 100% what she would do instead. Prince Juan Diego: A background character in TSS but I find his appearances usually pretty funny. He's a representative from Sceoque in the Escana council so most of the time he's mentioned he's fielding flattering and being overly polite in order to cause insult or conflict. Cidro did threaten to throw him off a cliff, however.
S Is For Sofka Oprinchuk: The Oskyan-Mignolian Ambassador in TSS that is rumored to bathe in the blood of her dead husbands to keep her beauty, has repeatedly stolen men from Ambassador Ulmer, and swears her allegiance more towards the holy city than to her homeland Oskya (which has made her unlikable by Aayden and Princess Hadley's standards) but she's a dangerous woman with powerful allies.
Send me a letter of the alphabet A-Z, and if I have an OC starting with that letter, I’ll tell about them.

The feeling of isolation has been present for some time now. Everyone close to Park Jimin disowned him, and the only people who could have helped him from his despair disappeared before the fallout of being outed to an unsupportive family.
Every day he feels a mixture of anger and self-loathing, wondering why his life had to turn out this way. He used to have many panic attacks and manic episodes; after a while, they grew farther apart until they disappeared. He had grown numb in his solitude, waiting for the day he could escape.
“Please, Taehyung,” Jimin pleaded, curling up onto his bay window with his phone loosely held up to his ear and cheek. “You have to come and visit soon…I miss you like crazy.”
“I will get the time off work as soon as I can. And then we can spend time together just like we used to, I promise.” His best friend replied, his tone conveying positivity to uplift the younger’s spirits.
“You are always working, Hyung. You barely have enough time to call me anymore.”
Jimin’s best friend, Kim Taehyung, had moved away almost a year ago across the country. He relayed to the younger that he was forced to work at one of his father's hotels after graduation. But Mister Kim pulled him out of school before the ceremony. So Jimin was left to spend his last year of schooling alone because other kids and adults publicly shamed him for his homosexuality.
He has always planned to move to America with Taehyung. The intention was to attend the same college and dorm together. Jimin knew they would be happy together, as friends or even more, if Taehyung allowed it. The younger knew Taehyung was the reason he was sexually attracted to men. After all, he was the one that introduced Jimin to the idea of same-sex couples.
Jimin’s mother was super religious, and things got worse after her husband died, Jimin’s father. The relationship was strained after the tragedy; she never understood her son like her husband could. They were always so close, and it was the end of the world when he passed. She had to learn to properly take care of her son for the first time since he was an infant.
“I know, I know…I’m sorry, Jiminnie,” Taehyung sounded sincere in his apology. “This job is demanding and worsens the longer I’m here.”
“Why? Isn’t your uncle that hotel’s manager? Can’t he cut you a bit of slack?”
“It’s not that simple. There’s too much on the line. So many…”
“Why did you say it like that?”
Jimin straightened up his body as he tried to focus. Background noise started to grow louder. He could hear men talking and then shouting. It got even louder, he had to take his phone away from his ear, and even then, he could still hear them. They sounded like the voices of all older people, and Taehyung began to yell in turn. When Jimin brought the phone back to his ear to listen in curiosity, Taehyung was frantic and trying to end the call immediately.
“I’m sorry, Jiminnie, something has come up, and it’s an emergency. I-I’ll call you back as soon as I can this week.”
The phone line went dead, and the feeling of loneliness quickly returned. Tears streamed down his face as he stared at his phone. Jimin missed his best friend tremendously; he was the only person there for him after his father died. He was the only one left he felt understood him. The younger had longed to see Taehyung. He was happiest most when they were together.
He tossed his phone onto his bed and brought his legs up onto the window sill. He rested his head on his knees and closed his eyes, quietly sobbing. The conversation ended awkwardly and abruptly in every phone call. He felt like he was drifting away from his friend faster than he could process this.
He looked out the window into the backyard of what used to be the Kim Family house. An older woman was outside fixing her garden after the winter ruined the greenery. The sky was a beautiful blue filled with fluffy white clouds. The clouds brought infinite images of beauty, and the trees budded with new leaves fresh for spring.
Jimin wasn’t allowed outside anymore. His mother had grown overprotective in that she didn’t want people to be reminded of who her son was. She pulled him out of school to finish high school from home. She does all the grocery shopping alone, and if Jimin ever needed anything, he had to make a list or get permission to make online purchases.
Maybe the seventeen-year-old wouldn't feel so lonely if his mother hadn't captivated him inside his own house. But instead, after he came out and told his mother about his sexual preferences, she was even more strict about what her son could do. It started after his father died and worsened once Jimin announced he was gay.
Jimin hated how his mother treated him now, knowing he was "different”. However, he was still the same, just with a new-found fascination with men. However, she didn't see it this way and made a huge deal about it. There was endless arguing about how it was only a phase and how Jimin was only confused. But no matter how often he denied these accusations, she didn't want to listen to him. He lied and told her he was bisexual to try and gain some of her respect, but it didn’t work as well as he had hoped. She now considers her son “only half broken” and tries to sway Jimin to like women, so he’s “not on the fence anymore.” She thought her son still had hope of being "normal" again. He knows all she wants is for him to find the perfect girl to marry and have children with, but he knows this is impossible from the bottom of his heart. Jimin felt comfortable talking to Taehyung about this stuff because he always knew he would listen. And now? Now he's trying to understand why they keep contact with each other if he's going to be abandoned. It's become even clearer recently that the elder was always too busy to continue a conversation. As much as Jimin hated to think he was boring his best friend, it was times like this when he felt outcasted and mistreated and needed Taehyung's support the most. But he never stayed to listen. Jimin didn't want to sound clingy towards Taehyung, so he didn't complain all that often aloud. Unlike himself, his friend had a life he needed to maintain. He understood the elder had more important things that were a higher priority than him. He wouldn't have a problem with this if he didn't make everything sound like a lie. Thoughts rolled in and out of his mind. He wanted to talk to someone. Someone other than his mother or Taehyung. Someone who he feels will listen and not pretend to make him happy. Someone who will be able to accept him for who he is as a person and not what their expectations were. But where would he find such a person if his mother controlled his life?
Jimin heard a door slam shut outside; when he looked out, he saw his mother’s small green sedan had pulled into the driveway. He jumped up from the window sill and panicked slightly. He made the room look like he had been working on schoolwork the entire time. He staged notebooks, pens, and sticky notes across his bed after he messily made it first. The old dinosaur of a laptop he was given for school purposes was in his hands as he crossed his legs and placed them in his lap.
Footsteps eventually made their way up the stairs. The louder they got, the deeper Jimin’s stomach sunk. He was afraid of getting shouted at and degraded. He closed his eyes tight and said a little prayer under his breath.
Miss Park called out for her son before knocking and opening the door to the bedroom.
“What?”
"Is that how you talk to me?" She snapped at him, causing her son to straighten himself up awkwardly. He apologized and answered her correctly. "I thought I said I wanted this laundry folded by the time I got back." Instead, she dropped a basket full of clean clothes onto his bed, crushing all his stuff. "What is this still doing in the laundry room?" "But mom, you said after I finished my homework-" Jimin's mother walked out the door, leaving him mid-sentence. He sighed and bit back his tongue. He was not in any mood to fight back. No, not today. After he put the basket onto his floor, he gathered enough courage to follow her out of the room.
The two of them made their way into the kitchen, she had left the few bags from the market on the counter, and Jimin rushed passed his mother to put them away. His mother walked deeper into the kitchen and towards the sink. She let out a heavy breath and hummed aggressively. Jimin knew she was about to complain about something else.
"And these dishes aren't done either." She said, slamming her hand on the counter. "You mean to tell me you were upstairs this entire time doing schoolwork?"
“It’s just a plate and fork,” The seventeen-year-old stated questioningly, wondering if his mother was crazy. “I was going to wait until after dinner to put all the dishes in the dishwasher.”
She disappointedly shook her head and began unloading the market onto the counter and throwing the plastic bags all over the floor. Jimin was frantically trying to pick them up and run around the kitchen putting things away before she started complaining again. He attempted to think of a way to change the subject, but he didn't know what to say.
“I…uh…I got a call from Taehyung today,” He started cautiously, side-eyeing his mother as he walked by. “I-it was a quick call…as I…had to hang up to finish school work.”
She became idle as she turned slowly to turn toward her son. The woman scrutinized Jimin with the intense stare of a stranger who had no regard for trying to mask their unfriendliness or judgment. Miss Park added her son’s words to the metaphorical algorithm she created to criticize him and form opinions.
"You're always on that damn phone." Miss Park complained. "Why don't you get off your dang electronics and do something for once?" "So…should I take this as my permission to go out?" "No." She sternly replied without skipping a beat. “Why don’t you start by doing that laundry I told you to do hours ago?”
Jimin sighed and rolled his eyes. He was annoyed by the way his mother was treating him. It was always like this; her snippy attitude undermined his every word and action. It would be best if you did what she tells you; it's her way or no way, and if you don’t like it, you might as well leave.
“Yes, ma'am,” Jimin huffed in response and sulked his way out of the kitchen.
Jimin was glad she didn’t mention that a boy had called. It must’ve been because she knew Taehyung and his family. And his best friend was also still in the closet before he left. Miss Park doesn’t know that Taehyung is bisexual. She doesn’t know it's his fault Jimin is attracted to men.
He mentioned turning Jimin into his secret “occasional sex partner” before he left. The elder attempted to teach him some things and did him a favor in providing experiences and a good time. However, they only got so far into their relationship before Mister Kim took his first real crush away. Jimin’s stomach started to flutter, and his face began to redden.
Taehyung doesn’t talk about it anymore, so he tries not to think about it often.
“And make sure you finish that reading I assigned to you. I’m quizzing you first thing tomorrow morning.”
“Mmhmm, you got it,” Jimin replied, slowly returning to Earth.
When he was out of sight, Jimin booked it up the stairs. He couldn’t wait to get away from all the negative energy that stained the kitchen. Plus, he didn’t want it to clash with the sudden intrusive thoughts about Taehyung. It wasn’t worth having his mother ruin a fond memory for him with her hostility and pessimism.
The young boy shuffled his way toward his room, not looking forward to having to fold his clothes. If it were up to him, he would throw them into the drawers haphazardly, but then they would be too wrinkled, and his mother would be even more upset with him. But, on the other hand, he didn’t know why it wasn’t like anyone would ever see him and his apparel anyways.
Jimin sat on his messy bed, proceeding to do his chore. He knew that it should’ve been done about an hour ago or so, but when you have more important things to worry about, the annoying chores can and will slip your mind. He tried to ignore the fact that his mother was harsh towards him. Everyone knew she makes and puts on the most significant shows about minor things.  The best thing he could do now was to go along with it. He was still living under his mother's roof, therefore having to follow her word. Even if he didn't agree with her or her rules, he still had to respect his mother. No matter how close she drives her son toward the brink of insanity.
He wishes they would finally see eye to eye about everything happening. Or at least respect each other's feelings, choices, or preferences. Jimin admits that he doesn’t understand his mother’s “religious nut” side or that she never seemed to take his father's death as hard as he did. But his judgment upon her was far less extreme than hers was towards him. Folding the clothes calmly, Jimin hummed a song as he worked. He began to think about what life would've been like if his father had still been around. Would he have let his son go out and explore the world? Would he be so hard on Jimin as his mother was when he came out? Instead, he was a fantastic man, quite the opposite personality compared to Miss Park. He was so cheerful, caring, and very friendly. He could talk about anything and everything for hours, never refused to help, and always encouraged an optimistic lifestyle.
Maybe that's why Jimin stayed for so long. Perhaps he believes that there's hope that his mother will come around eventually. He hopes his mother realizes that the relationship she could have with her one and only son isn’t worth losing over her religious beliefs and blatant homophobia.
Just as he finished folding that last article of clothing, Jimin grabbed his phone from under his pillow and leaned back onto the bed. He mindlessly scrolled his way through the social media accounts his mother doesn’t know he had. He never posted photos of himself or his life anyways, as he was too self-conscious to put himself out there due to his mother’s constant demeaning comments toward him.
His feed and timeline consisted of positive quotes and pictures of animals, delicious-looking foods, and famous people. Nothing that exciting, but it helps him get through his rough days. Jimin’s finger, though, brought him to Taehyung’s profile. He hasn’t posted in a while, though, hasn’t even shown him as active online, either.
While not even thinking, Jimin was now finding himself about to leave a message to his friend. “Hey, I would like to talk to you again soon!” he wrote. He couldn’t even fathom why he wrote it or why he was about to consider sending it. It wasn’t like Taehyung would read it, and he would only call when available. Which, according to past experiences, could take weeks.
Jimin’s bubble popped when he heard his mother yelling for him from downstairs. He carefully got up from his bed so as not to knock down the piles of clothes he had just a moment ago messily folded. Then, with the door opened, he shouted back toward her.
“Yes, mom?”
“Make sure you take a bath before dinner." The mother yells from the kitchen. "We have company coming over, so please dress nicely as well." Company? Who in their right mind would want to come here? Jimin was curious and hurriedly made his way down the steps, planning to head into the kitchen to question his mother. The last guests visiting them were when the Kims still lived next door. Almost a year without anyone over; why the sudden change of heart?
It was very puzzling indeed, and Jimin wanted to find out why.
“I’m sorry, I couldn’t hear you. Can you repeat that? "I invited a friend from the church over for dinner. Please get ready and make yourself look presentable." His mother continued to keep her attention on the dinner she was preparing, not even once glancing at her son. "Then why do I have to get dressed if it's your guest? Can't I eat in my room?" Jimin whined, hoping that maybe one time he could get his way. "Stop being rude." She demanded. "I promise it won't be as bad as you might think."
Jimin let out a huff louder than he had intended; he knew this was not true. His mother turned toward him and shot him angry daggers. Her eyes shouted, “you ungrateful brat,” and Jimin knew that was his cue to leave.
Dysfunctional families can be made functional. Jimin has always held onto hope that this was true. Maybe he left room for his mother to self-reflect and improve and realize there had to be adjustments in this household to heal. Her allowing people into the house was a step forward. At least, that's how Jimin sees it.

harrington steve likes braiding hair when he's stressed, hes the one who styles his childrens' hair
aimi coming to save my ask box as always <3
okay but you're so right. he literally already gives dustin hair advice so he would know what he's doing!!
i imagine that, at some point during vecna coming for max, he would end up braiding her hair. she would probably resist or think it's weird if he asked, but if she seems really stressed and they're sitting next to each other then i think he would do it almost subconsciously, as a way to calm himself and her. she definitely doesn't think it's as weird after that, although she probably wouldn't admit it publicly.
now thinking of him braiding el's hair??? sobbing. thinking that el doesn't know how to braid her own hair but she's seen steve braid max's before so she shyly asks him to do it one day. steve is shocked because el doesn't talk to him much, but he does it anyway, making sure to be really gentle with her hair and to make it look really good since it's her first braid ever. he finishes and she looks at it in the mirror and she's beaming and steve is just completely happy and proud of himself. needless to say, she always comes to him if she wants another one.
i can definitely see him giving dustin a tiny one in a teasing or joking matter. steve reaches over to touch his hair and he backs up and asks what he's doing. "checking to see how braidable your hair is." – "dude, no! don't touch the hair, you of all people should know that!" – "cmon, you took my advice to get this perfect hair. you don't trust me?" and thus dustin shuts up and lets him braid a tiny section. (he would definitely complain about it forever, teasing steve in front of others about it too, but if he ever wants to try a new kind of style that might need it, he would ask him to do it again. something that steve would endlessly tease him about as well.)
i feel like mike would die of humiliation if he ever had his hair braided – and especially by steve – which is exactly why he does it one night while he's half asleep, sprawled across the extra mattresses in steve's living room floor. it's not too tight, loose enough so it's easy to remove, and when he wakes up everyone knows who did it; who other than momma steve? mike would be humiliated, probably teased by some of the other guys – not like they hadn't been in the same position before – but maybe el or will would say that he actually looks good with it, and he would immediately tone down his complaints.
will very shyly asks for steve to braid a few strands of his hair one night when no one else is around. he knows that the other guys would be mortified to have braids – at least they act like it – so he asks him in private if he will, and of course he obliges. he's careful as he places a small braid into the hair near his temple, and it's easy to see how will's face lights up. but he tries to cover it, knowing boys his age don't usually like things like that, but steve isn't having it. "you know, it doesn't really matter what everyone else will say. i've braided all their hairs – even mike's – and they all liked it." and when he sees that will is still hesitant he throws in a little, "okay, fine. you get a secret; robin braids my hair when she stays over and i like it. i mean i like how it looks and how it feels." and that's enough to cheer will up enough so that he's ready to go back to his friends, but not before steve yells out, "and if anyone says shit, tell me. i'll beat anyone's ass for you, kid."
lucas doesn't have hair long enough to be braided, so steve compromises. he knows how much the boy wants to take care of max, so he shows lucas how to braid one day when he's braiding el's. lucas thinks he gets it but needs more practice, so steve begrudgingly lets him use his own hair as practice. "i swear, sinclair, if you knot up so much as a single strand–" lucas smiles to himself at the venomless threat. "i'm dead, i know."
okay so... this was just the kids. i literally have more thoughts about this for reader/me/you/whatever that i could go on and on about but. i've already gotten carried away :")

Trial of the Zora Armor - Chapter Eight
*Almost a month afterwards*
Zelda slipped her tiara onto her head and looked at herself in the mirror. She looked pregnant. Her bump had become large enough that anything she wore showcased her baby curves, even the loose white maiden's dress that she was wearing, having just returned from the Spring of Power, no longer hid her bump under its natural flow.
"Fifteen weeks, Zelda, twenty-five more to go." She told herself, then rubbed her belly. "Think we can do that, Little Hyrule?"
"I don't know, Little Hyrule may not be able to wait that long to meet you." A familiar voice replied, Prince Link. His sideburns had been straightened somewhat, his dirty blond hair, now adorned with a diadem that somewhat matched Zelda's tiara, was put nicely into its usual ponytail. Even though he wore a stunningly formal white suit with the Royal Emblem and Triforce emblazoned on it, his usual blue earrings were still present in his ears. He bent down to Zelda's stomach, rubbing it. "Is Momma giving you a hard time?"
"I am not. If anything, good Sir, you are giving us both a hard time." Zelda replied in a mockingly regal voice.
"Little Hyrule, Momma's being mean to me..." Link playfully whined to their baby.
Zelda rolled her eyes. "You're such a child, Link."
"No, this is a child." He replied, patting Zelda's bump gently. "I am a goofy husband-slash-man-servant." He threw in an overdramatized bow.
"You've got that right!" Zelda laughed.
"Alright, you two, play nice." Urbosa jokingly called. "You don't want the baby to think that is how you interact with everyone."
"I suppose not." Zelda replied, looking behind her at Urbosa.
Link rose slowly, standing close to his wife.
"My, don't you two look fancy?"
The royal couple turned to the mirror. With Zelda in her tiara and Link in his matching diadem, both in pure white outfits, they looked downright divine.
Link grabbed his wife's hand, only strengthening the image.
"The Prince and Princess of Hyrule Kingdom." Zelda breathed.
He leaned close to her ear. "Man, really makes me wonder whether you've got a boy or a girl in there."
"We'll just have to wait five more months to find out."
Urbosa chucked. "When you two are done being adorable parents-to-be, His Majesty wants to see you both down in the ballroom."
"Oh?" Zelda asked. "So soon? ...Well, let me change and then we can be off."
~~~~
"Oh, Princess!" High-ranking guests marveled as they saw the obviously pregnant Princess Zelda. "Congratulations!"
As it was customary for a woman of Hylia's line to publicly wear white while pregnant, Zelda was now in a long white dress that had been tailored in a way that made up for the lack of a corset, walking slowly alongside her husband. She waved back at as many guests as she could, always keeping her right hand on her bump, but it wasn't long before she became overwhelmed.
"That's enough!" Link told some, waving them away before Zelda got overstimulated and reacted either in violence or by becoming ill.
"Thank you, Link." Zelda whispered, he held her left hand tightly and nodded as they walked further into the ballroom and up to a banquet table with King Rhoam, all the Champions and a few of their dignitaries seated at it. "Father." Zelda bowed her head monotonously as one of her father's guards pulled a chair out for her.
"Zelda. Link. Welcome." Her father replied with the same monotony. "It's a pleasure you could make it."
They bowed their heads once more.
"Your Highness Princess Zelda," One of the Gerudo began to address which non-enthroned royal she was referring to. "You look particularly radiant tonight."
"Thank you, Esosu, you're quite kind."
The night was filled with soft silences, eloquent formalities, their resulting gratitudes and small discussion on affairs of each kingdom. Zelda, for the first time since finding out she was pregnant, was able to stay through the entire banquet, which pleased Rhoam. As the banquet settled down and moved into the dance, everyone was allowed to speak more openly, moving onto the airy pavilions.
"Is the baby here yet, tiny princess?" Daruk asked, still not fully understanding the whole concept.
"Has it been eight months since the wedding, Daruk?" Revali asked snarkily. "Does Zelda actually look like she's had her baby?"
"Uh... no?"
"Then that's your answer."
Zelda placed a hand on her stomach again, now holding it at about her peak. "Now, please, there's no need to argue."
"I'd thought you've learned some respect by being a Champion." Khosha remarked, her figure swollen in a way that resembled Zelda's. "I guess I was mistaken."
"Great. Is this the 'all high-ranking pregnant women turn against a Champion' part of the night?"
"Maybe you wanna be nicer to Khosha and Zelda? One packs a punch and the other's your wife." Daruk suggested.
"I have to be nice and civilized all day back home, I just want to have a nice, pointless duel and let loose a bunch of words and arrows to get it all out of my system."
"I know how you feel." Link admitted, surprising everyone.
"You wanna go one-on-one?" Revali patted Link's shoulder.
"No!" Both their wives protested. "I refuse to let either of you partake in such gratuitous violence!" Zelda declared. "It is improper for the Champion of the Rito to engage in such childlike behavior against a member of the Royal Family!" Khosha added.
"Aww, but honey..." Both Link and Revali whined.
"How about a compromise?" Impa asked. "The dads-to-be need to blow off steam and... not be dads-to-be for a moment, but I agree with Princess Zelda and Lady Khosha, such senseless brawling should not take place; all on account of your statuses, location and this last fact: your wives are pregnant!"
The husbands and wives looked at each other for a while.
"I know you've set aside so much to take care of me, and I know you must let out your frustration and energy somehow... but you two almost hurt each other terribly the last time." Zelda shook her head out. "I'd worry myself sick for the both of you..."
"We get it." Khosha said, almost remorsefully. "You're both warriors, chosen for a great battle... and that burden is hard to handle... we're hard to handle..." Khosha closed her beak and turned away, her head feathers flying in the breeze like Zelda's hair and dress. "We're pains in the neck... we know..."
"Neither of you are pains." Revali consoled, Urbosa reacting with surprise. "You're both blessings from Hylia herself."
"We consider ourselves blessed in that regard. Not every warrior has a strong wife to go home to." Link walked over to Zelda and cupped her face. "It's been tough, having to go from country knight to regal prince in nearly the blink of an eye... but I love you. So, if it would hurt you, I'll find some other way to let off steam."
Revali went over and hugged Khosha as well, which no one expected. "A Rito man is raised as a warrior, but sometimes I forget that warrior is still a man, someone who must lay down his arms to tend to his songbird."
Watching the dual tender moment made tears spring to everyone's eyes... including the expecting moms.
"My apologies..." Zelda began, voice cracking as she and Khosha fanned their teary eyes, but only succeeded in breaking down further.
"Stupid hormones..." Khosha finished, sobbing.
"Don't discount yourselves just because you're pregnant." Urbosa told them. "Your feelings are still just as valid."
"But we don't actually feel this way, we just can't stop!" Both of them wailed.
"Come here." Link pulled Zelda close.
"I-I thought this was... supposed to stop..." Zelda sniffled out.
"Your hormones are probably gonna be a hot mess until the baby's born... the only thing that was supposed to stop after three months was the nausea." Link massaged her back.
"If you need me to take her while you and Revali go blow off steam, I can." Mipha offered.
"I think we're gonna stay here until they're alright. If we leave when they're still high off hormones then we all end up hurting worse later. Found that out the hard way with Mrs. Divine Beast there." Revali added. "Plus, we're not in any rush... this time."
"I'm fine, I'm fine." Khosha insisted, able to stop her tears.
Zelda stuck her face into the crook of Link's neck, breathing deeply for a few seconds. "Okay..." She backed away. "I'm fine now."
"Sure?"
She nodded, wiping the remaining tears from her eyes. "I'm just fine... I promise this time. How about I call an escort to take you and Revali down to the training arena?"
"Hmm, not a real fight like I had in mind, but it'll also let me go crazier, so why not?" Revali replied. "That good with you, Prince Knight?"
Link rolled his eyes. "Call me that one more time and you're nothing but Ravioli."
"At least my insulting nicknames are clever, I don't know why you all decided on that asinine one."
"Goddesses." Impa muttered. "Will you two please save it for the arena? You've shown little respect for the dignitaries or Her Highness by bickering!"
Urbosa nudged Zelda's shoulder. "Go ahead and call a guard, little bird, it's obvious they wish to go down."
She nodded, then dragged Link and Revali off to where a knight was standing guard. "Sir Knight, if you would please escort my husband and Champion Revali to the training arena please."
A look of surprise flashed across his face, he got onto one knee clumsily. He nodded while bowing before rising to his feet, nodding at Link and Revali before they headed out.
Heading back, she looked back at the hall they had walked into and gripped her stomach with both hands.
"You've done a brave thing, little bird." Zelda snapped her head back to Urbosa. "I know it's hard letting him go off, but it's the right thing for him and you know it."
"Why is it so hard?"
"Because he's been your shadow for almost two years now, you two haven't spent much time apart, especially in the last month." Urbosa touched Zelda's hands. "And carrying his child doesn't make it any easier."
Zelda nodded and they headed back to the group.
"Are you feeling any better, Zelda?" Mipha asked.
"I'm not sure right now."
"It's alright, Princess." Khosha assured, wrapping her wing around her. "If I wasn't so used to me and Revali being separate forces I would feel the same way."
"...Thank you, Khosha."
She patted Zelda's back. "No worries, momma." They smiled at each other.
"I don't believe I ever asked, when are you due to lay?"
"Not long at all..." Khosha's eyes rolled upwards as she did math in her head. "Actually, it's the week of your birthday."
"That is soon."
"When is your little one supposed to come along?"
Zelda looked down at her stomach. "Well I'm fifteen weeks now, so... getting close to halfway. Link said I'm close to five months... he understands the math on this better than I." She chuckled in embarrassment. "About four and a half months, perhaps?"
"How sweet... have you felt them move yet?"
"No, not yet... although I don't believe I'll be waiting much longer."
"You don't look like it."
"Your Highness!" A female voice called out.
"My apologies, Khosha."
"No worries."
"Purah? Is something the matter?"
"Oh, there you are! I had seen Linky but didn't see you around... aaanyways, your father would like to speak with you in private."
Zelda moved the hand on her stomach in a rubbing manner. "Yes, Purah."
"Something the matter?"
"I am just fine."
Purah nodded and they walked to the pavilion where the King waited. "Good luck, Your Highness."
Zelda's frown became a little deeper before walking inside. "You requested my presence, Father?"
"Ah, Zelda, yes." Her father turned towards her, then seemed to take notice of both her hands being placed on her stomach. "Are you in a manner of discomfort?"
Zelda's eyes widened in surprise.
He was asking her how she was feeling?
"I am well," She began after a stunned silence, stammering slightly at the beginning. "just tending to the bond between me and my little one."
King Rhoam sighed. "Zelda... you are becoming great with child, a life other than your own is impacted by your decisions."
Zelda's hands tightened over her bulging belly. Was he seriously trying to harp on what she was doing wrong during her pregnancy? He had denied for almost three months that she was pregnant, then berated her in front of the whole kingdom for being so... now he was scolding her for not rolling over in pain?
"Where's your husband?" Rhoam asked in a judgemental voice. "Several guards have spotted you away from him."
She took a deep breath to calm herself down before her reply. "Father, he needed a moment away. He had reached his limit on formalities and became quite rowdy. I sent him to the Knights' Arena with Champion Revali to reset before he made a fool of himself."
He gave her a highly disapproving look, which hurt her and made her panic. "Zelda..." He began in a tone Zelda was familiar with, she knew she was due for another round of scolding. While she was certain he wouldn't hit her, for it would likely kill Hylia's next descendant, she knew what she was in for.
"Father, what else was I to do?!" She took her hands off her stomach to begin shaking them in a pleading manner. "Link was about to get into a fistfight!"
"You married that man."
She touched her chest with one hand, letting the other drop to her side. "But I am not his mother! He is older than I!" She shook her head a few times before looking back at her father. "I am the mother of his child, not him!"
"Enough with the excuses, Zelda! Every time you've enough excuses to justify Calamity Ganon! How long do you plan to run from your duties, as Princess and now as mother?"
Zelda clenched her fists, but she made a vow that she would not strike him as he had done to her. "I'm doing all I can to fulfill them, I have told you this! How long do you plan to ridicule me? Ever since Mother's death, you've looked upon me as if I'm defective!" She made a wide motion to her pregnant belly. "Look at me! Do I look defective?!" Her breaths became loud and labored.
"A prostitute could bear a child!"
"Then do you call this descendant of Hylia the child of a mongrel?! I am not defective! I'm trying everything I can to awaken this power!" She stomped her foot on the ground, feeling the weight she'd gained within the last month or so shoot down her leg. She suppressed a grimace.
"Princess Zelda of Hyrule Kingdom!" He snapped. "Stand down immediately!"
"No more!" She hollered before storming out, her breaths loud and odd while her gait strange due to her rounded stomach. She swung her arms in an overaccentuated motion as if she needed more momentum to keep herself going.
The knights standing guard at the entrance, her father's personal guard, gasped and got onto their knees as she passed, then stood and shrugged once she had left.
Quickly, she headed towards the Knights' Arena to find her husband, the only person in all of Hyrule who would be able to talk her down.
Andy is clearly very attached to his parents, and if they are part of Scientology they would have to stop talking to him if he decided to go against it publicly, they would basically have to disown him and pretend he doesn’t exist, that’s what Scientologist do, that what the organization does. Andy has talked about being a momma’s boy, how attached he is to his parents, and the thought of not being able to have them in his life is certainly terrifying for him. He’s talked about how his parents always supported him and his whims. On Leah Remini’s show she spoke to some people who said their parents lived across the street from them but didn’t talk to them at all because Scientology wouldn’t allow it, because they weren’t part of it anymore while their parents stayed. Scientology is a horrifying cult. We all know Andy andJuju read blogs like this, so I hope Andy realizes how harmful that cult is and leaves. He definitely has friends like Pat, Joe (his literal cousin), Lonny etc who love him and would support him through anything. I hope Andy finds comfort in his friends and finds the courage and strength to leave his marriage and that cult, he deserves better. Even if he looses his family for now, I believe they will eventually understand why and also leave like Paul Haggis and his family. We love you and believe in you Andy, we want the best for you
unfortunately there are so many reasons families don't speak. although it's not the same thing, to kinda insert my own experiences i haven't spoken to any of my dad's side of the family since my parents split 4 years ago bc they took his side (as you would expect) when my parents split. i also don't have a close relationship with my mom's side of the family bc i'm a lesbian and they're all really homophobic. & although it sucks to not have a relationship with your family when that is something that so many people cherish and hold so close and that's just not something i have, i've realized it's so much better this way. as you get older people in your life can show their true colors unfortunately but, to have any kind of relationship with someone you both have to put effort in and support each other 100% & you can't be the only one doing so. as you said, if he stops communicating with them & they want to have a relationship with him they will. but he can't keep putting himself through this when he clearly doesn't seem to be happy with what's going on.
I was just browsing YouTube and binge-watching some of colbys videos and I honestly got so soft bc this man... is so supportive of his friends. He literally is always 100% tunes in to whatever Sam is saying and if no one else responds, he makes sure he does himself and he just hypes Sam up in every way he can. He also just does not shy away from loving his friends freely and publicly, even though that’s not the “norm” and god it’s just so 🥺🥺 more men emotionally supporting and openly loving their friends please bc it’s honestly so awesome to see. Sorry, got in my feels a lil bit 😂
Oh please, now I'm going to have a soft Colby day. 🥺 Which is probably a good break from the kind of Colby day I had yesterday, which was...not soft 🤣
Colby is an absolute soft soul. He wants everyone to be happy and feel supported and loved (especially Sam), and that always shines through with his actions and his words.
What's especially telling to me were the times he didn't know he was on camera-the first example that popped into my head is that video where Corey and Devyn pranked everyone by telling them that they were pregnant and were quitting yt. He was trying so hard to be supportive of everyone in the room, and he was the one calming and soothing Aaron when he got upset after he blurted out something insensitive. He just wants everyone to be OK and feel supported. 😔
And the way he treats Sam, and the way he holds onto their friendship and is so unafraid and unashamed to talk about how Sam means everything to him? The way he is completely unapologetic, even proud, to be a momma's boy and talk about how much he loves her? How soft and sentimental he can get with people like Jake, Corey, etc? The way that if someone is putting themselves down it almost seems to bother him on a deep level (see Sam talking about his insecurities in their recent truth or drunk vid and colby literally sitting off to the side making a ☹ face and trying to hype Sam up even though he was wasted)? The fact that he is always, always telling the people in his life that he loves them and is so unashamed to say those words publicly?
Just, yeah. We love a man who isn't afraid to be in his feels. 🥺🥺🥺
Poll #86
Character 256: She took care of her class pets with her childhood bestie until she had to move away. As an adult, she hyperfixated on occult pseudoscience and started a business with her brother. She helped raise a clone of a coworker as her pseudo-son. She’s very flighty; it’s hard to know if she’ll really show up or not. She’s not really a fan of warm temperatures. She reunites with her best friend a few times; what happens next will shock you!
Character 257: He's a petty criminal with a strong distaste for most forms of authority (with good reason; there's someone powerful out to get him and his family) and who is fully prepared to use drastic means if necessary to achieve his goals. His main goals, though, are just to love and keep safe the handful of people he really deeply cares for, and often enough those that they care for as well. In his mid-teens he left home to chase down a missing family member, with hardly anything in the way of leads, and ended up spending some time wasting other people's money on the purchase of information that ultimately did him little good. He's a momma's boy. For a brief time he was a clown. He's a constant provider of nicknames to people disinclined to appreciate it--then again, annoyance is what he's going for. He's a people person and loves attention, but can be afraid of it too, especially when it comes from a crowd; in the long term being in the public eye is not for him. He's brash and tends to mess up in the things he says; he's a handful and has admitted as much out loud. He's publicly insulted the love of his life (it was mutual). He's a fool for love and isn't put off by the death threats. He's participated in a scam engagement to help his crush inflate their fame. He doesn't know deeply, or necessarily even like, everyone in his friend group, but to those he does care for, he's the furthest thing from a fair-weather friend, and pushes back against their self-doubt and self-destructive tendencies. He's multilingual, from two different cities, and a child of immigrants. He tries to keep much of his identity out of the light, and he has supernatural power that is thematically tied to that. He has a particular hat he's quite fond of; he has big brownish eyes and he gets mocked for his height.
Character 258: He’s a pirate, he’s a chef, he was a prince, he’s everything. His first family sucked so much he went out and found two better ones. He’s suffered so much trauma and came out of it kinder than anyone, if not a little rough around the edges for it
South Carolina is well known for its vibrant collection of wildflowers, beautiful lowland scenery, and its deep roots in American agriculture. Plantations played a prominent role in advancing the state’s  economy, including the Mount Holly Plantation. This Dutchman styled building sits quietly tucked away in Berkeley County, right off Highway 52. As it is with many old plantations, this home bears a dark and complex past, one filled with hopes, tragedies, and mysteries that remain unsolved even to this day.
During the mid-1980s, Thomas “Steve” Malinoski worked as the plantation’s groundskeeper. He tended to the 6,000 acres estate, making sure that land was clean and properly cared for. He, along with Korrina, his wife, their two sons, and his step-daughter named Annette, lived inside a cabin, located on Mount Holly’s vast property. Life for the Malinoski family was far from tranquil. Korrina and Steve’s relationship was a thundering storm cloud laden with fights and drug abuse on Steve’s part. At times, these disputes would escalate into physical violence. By 1987, Korrina became fed up with this unhealthy lifestyle threatened to leave Steve for good.
On November 21st of that year, it appeared she did just that. When Korrina didn’t show up for her morning shift at the convenience store, her boss became concerned and drove to the plantation to see if everything was okay. Steve spoke to Korrina’s boss and revealed that the last time he saw his wife was between 11 PM - 11:30 PM on November 20th. Korrina, according to her husband, took off in her vehicle after another bitter argument. On the drive up, her boss noticed her car, which appeared to be untouched, sitting outside of the plantation’s entrance. Steve contacted the police after hearing this piece of information, and the search for Korrina began.
No clues to the young woman’s whereabouts were uncovered during the extensive week-long search. Those close to Korrina could not believe that this doting mother of three would just willing up and disappear without her children, and they feared something more sinister occurred. Because of the history of domestic violence, Steve was viewed as a potential suspect. He willingly took a polygraph test, hoping to clear his name. Those results came back as inconclusive.
The first anniversary of the young mother’s disappearance was fast approaching. While the community of Berkeley County continued to seek answers, they were handed another mystery when Annette Sager, Korinna’s eleven-year-old daughter, vanished without a trace from the exact location as her mother. This new chapter unfolded on October 4th, 1988. Just as she did every morning, Annette walked down the plantation’s pathway with her dog, to its entrance where she waited for the school bus. A witness recalled seeing the little girl standing there at 7 AM, dressed in white shoes, red pants, and a matching shirt. Annette’s bus arrived twenty minutes later, and by then the little girl was nowhere to be found.
Hours passed before someone reported Annette missing. When his step-daughter didn’t return home at her regular time, Steve headed for the bus stop to check for clues that may lead him in Annette’s directoin. There, he discovered a penciled message, written on notebook paper. The note read: “Dad, Momma came back. Give the boys a hug.”
A handwriting analysis expert determined that Annette indeed wrote this note. This new scrap of information left investigators with two questions: Did Korinna return for her daughter or had someone forced Annette to write this brief farewell letter before kidnapping her?
According to family members, they had been seeking to gain custody of the little girl ever since Korrina vanished. A custody hearing was scheduled to take place during the week following her strange disappearance. Faculty at Annette’s middle school described her as a sweet and noticeably anxious child, and during her last semester at school, the girl developed a minor speech impediment. These red flags turned detectives’ eyes towards the step-father. Before they could zero in on him, Steve abruptly packed up and move to Florida with his two young sons, both of whom he relinquished parental rights shortly after.
As of now, the police have no publicly named any suspects in Annette’s and Korrina’s disappearances, and it has yet to be determined whether they left on their own free will. Those currently working this cold case believe that the mother and daughter are likely dead and buried somewhere on Mount Holly’s broad property. A new search method is in the developing process, and investigators hope that by using different soil types they will narrow down possible burial sites. They also plan to resubmit items of evidence for more advanced DNA testing.
At the time she went missing, Annette Sagers stood at 4’8 and weighed 90-95 pounds. She has dark brown hair and brown eyes and pierced ears. There are small gaps in the top row of her teeth. Today, Annette would be forty-two-years-old.
Korrina “Kory” Malinoski is a Caucasian female with brown hair and brown eyes. Her weight and height were not documented at the time of her disappearance. As of 2019, she’d be fifty-eight-years-old.
If anyone has information on this case, the Berkeley County Sheriffs’s office asks to contact them at 803-761-7190 or 803-737-9000.
